My mother and I: Look and act totally different- except we're both s h o r t. We're the same exact height.
The only time you can tell without a shadow of a doubt that we are closely related is when we are climbing on top of things we should not be climbing on top of, endangering our lives, to fix something that's probably fine to begin with.
#like sunday.#in the morning i climbed up onto the bathroom sink so i could clean the shelves up there that no one can even see#and then later the same day my mum was climbing ontop of my bed frame to adjust my window curtains across#for a room that doesnt even get sunlight in the first place.

Part Of My World | Kadena Fanfic ( PART ONE)
Thank you for being patient with me, I know a lot of people are rooting for me to write an out of this world fanfic for the Kadena supporters, for this incredible fandom and I'm so excited to share with you the first part. So, I've named this fix "Part Of My World' in response to the "We are from different worlds, and I would I want you to stay in mine.' Quote. Title: Part Of My World Pairing: Adena x Kat Rating: 18+ Electrical currents erupted through Kat's body as Adena's arms wrapped around her small waist, pulling her closer. So, this is what Katy Perry meant about kissing a girl and liking it. Kat defiantly liked the way Adena's lips felt against hers; soft and needing. The way it felt to have her arms wrapped around her. Up until a few weeks ago she had prided herself on her hetero status and gave herself countless pep talks, trying to convince herself that what she felt for Adena wasn't attraction. And god had she been wrong. Dream after dream, meet after meet Kat found herself falling for Adena in the same way she had fallen for members of the male species. Only this time, there was something different about the feelings she felt and it almost felt as though it was meant to be. Kat didn't believe in 'meant to be' or soulmates but somehow, Adena made that possible. "You want to come inside?" Adena asks with innocence lacing her voice. Kat was too stunned by the previous moment and felt lost without Adena's lips against hers to answer and instead followed Adena into her appartment. It was just as Kat had imagined, not that Kat sat around imagining What Adena's apartment would look like, the way she looked in the morning dazed and beautiful with sleepy eyes, or what it felt like to touch Adena and know that the special moments were shared between the two of them and the two of them only. The room was simple and beautiful and very Adena. Kat liked the special unique things that made Adena - Well, Adena. The walls were white and covered in art, there was a picture frame of Adena standing next to another, older and equally as beautiful Muslim woman. "That's my mum." Adena said snapping Kat out of her thoughts. She picked up the picture frame and sighed thinking back to the man who had verbally assaulted her the day before. Kat gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze hoping that Adena knew she would protect her against the disgusting comments of society again and again. Adena closed her eyes and squeezed Kat's hand, both women savouring the closeness. "She must be so proud of you." Kat finally found her voice and Adena smiled. "Yeah. I miss my family." Kat nodded sympathetically, missing her own family, although her family weren't continents away like Adena's were, she hardly saw them after moving to New York. In desperation to change the subject, Adena walked into her kitchen and flicked the kettle on. "Do you want some coffee?" Kat sat down on the small white couch overlooking the kitchen. "Yes, please." She fumbled with her hands, unable to keep still. Adena made it impossible for her to nerves to be at a stand still. She felt as though a garden of butterflies were fluttering around in her stomach whenever she looked at Adena. Adena returned to the living area with the coffees and positioned herself next to Kat. The skin of her arm brushing against Kat's releasing electrical currents once again. Kat relaxed into Adena and sipped her coffee. What wasn't incredible about this woman? Her ethos and beliefs, her kind nature, her courage and she could make the most delicious coffee Kat had ever tasted. The two sat in comfortable silence as they drank their warm beverage, every once in a while stealing a glance at the other. "So." Kat broke the comfortable silence and nervously twisted a curl around her index finger. "I haven't broken any.. I haven't over stepped a line have I?" Adena raised an eyebrow, edging herself closer to Kat. "What do you mean?" She asked, curiosity clear in her voice. Kat sighed and covered her face with her hands. "The woman you were with at the art expo.." Adena coughed and adjusted her hijab for something to do. "Coco? She's my.. Ex girlfriend." Kat nodded taking in her words. "It's complicated." Adena quickly added. Kat understood the complication of exes. "But Kat, I really like you." "So, are you and Coco..?" Kat was usually the confident one but she found herself unable to find words to portray to Adena how she felt. "No. But she's very supportive of my work. She always has been." Kat eyed up one of the pictures on the wall of a proud Muslim holding up a sign with the words 'I am Muslim and I am proud.' Adena was very talented, and her art spoke one hundred different words. Kat understood Coco, if she were Adena's ex she'd probably still be supportive too. Kat scooted closer and stroked the side of Adena's face who slowly closed in the gap between them, pressing her soft, supple lips against hers. Things got heated quickly, and Kat found herself tugging at Adena's shirt. Adena lifted her arms up and let Kat remove the shirt revealing her black lace bra. Kat kissed the skin of her neck slowly, making her down her chest. "We should .. Go to the bedroom." Adena panted as Kat looked up at her. The two broke away and detoured to Adena's bedroom. Without hesitation, Adena carefully pushed Kat down onto the bed and climbed up ontop of her and Kat removed her own shirt. - Kat opened her eyes, letting them adjust to the sunlight peaking through the curtains. Adena appeared in the doorway holding a tray of pancakes and coffee. She looked just as fascinating in the mornings as Kat had imagined with her short hair swiftly flowing against her shoulders. "Morning, sunshine." Adena beamed setting the tray down on the bed. Kat wrapped the sheet around her exposed chest and cautiously sat up. "Morning." She smiled back. "I made you breakfast in bed." Adena gestured at the tray and Kat approvingly sipped the coffee. "Thank you." She replied. None of her ex boyfriends had ever made her breakfast in bed, then again none of her ex boyfriends were Adena. As she tucked into a warm, sugary pancake her phone went off from the bedside table. It was Jaqueline asking to see her. "I'm so sorry Adena, but I have to go to work." Kat groaned carefully unwrapping the sheet from around her body and standing. She surveyed the room for her clothes and Adena returned holding them. - "Okay. Spill!" Jane Sloan squealed as Sutton closed the door to the fashion closet behind her. Kat was perched on a stall bubbling with excitement, ready to dish out all the details of her night with Adena. "Well, I kissed a girl and I liked it." Kat joked earning a slap on the thigh from an over enthusiastic - coffee induced Jane. "Okay so details." Sutton encouraged equally as excited. Jane and Sutton were sat crossed-legged on the floor as if they were children being told a fairytale. Though, being in the presence of Adena was far better than a fairytale in Kat's mind. "Well, I went over to tell her that I understand her and I gave her the reference she wanted." Kat went into the details telling them about how delicious her coffee skills are, to the kiss and the intense make out session at the end of the night. "So, wait you didn't." Sutton started and Kat shook her head. "No, but I really like her. I haven't felt like this in a long time." Kat's phone flashed with a message from Jaqueline asking her to meet her in her office. Kat sighed locking her phone. "Anyway, we can catch up later tonight. Girls night?" Kat asked earning excited approvals from her very supportive best friends. Kat had been friends with Sutton and Jane ever since they each started at the magazine years before. Back before Sutton became Oliver's assistant and Jane became a writer for the magazine. "You wanted to see me?" Kat asked walking into Jaqueline'a office to find her working the treadmill in her six inch heels, whilst furiously typing on her laptop which was perched on a desk that hovered over the treadmill. "Yes." Jaqueline said slowing down the rate of the treadmill. She stepped off and smiled at Kat. "So as you know, we want to adapt our magazine to be more political and I want you talk on a panel about what happened to you the other night." The colour drained from Kat's faced. She couldn't possibly do that. It wasn't her story to tell, and it hadn't happened to her, it happened to Adena. "Jaqueline, I don't know if that's a good idea." Kat's honesty is the attribute that Jaqueline always admired, it's what made her so successful as the social media manager. "I mean it's not my story to tell." Jaqueline bit her lip, considering Kat's response. "Well you could always talk to that artist girl.-" "Adena." Kat chimed in. "Ask Adena for a statement. We want you talk about your side too Kat." Jaqueline nodded towards the door, Kat smiled and left the room. She saw the way Adena reacted to the man's comments. How was she to speak out about it? Would Adena even want her to?
