My mom a few days ago suggested I get tested for autism cause I was stimming a lot during the movie, cause I was enjoying it

And then she also suggested I bring some quiet fidgets to the movies next time we go so as not to be accidentally disruptive to the other patrons.

Both of these suggestions: VALID! I have ADHD on her side, and my dad also has autism, so it's likely the apple didn't fall too far from either tree. And she was expressing that it might be a good idea to look into it.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT MY FUCKIN' BRAIN HEARD! MY STUPID ASS BRAIN HEARD:

That I was being really annoying during the movie and shouldn't stimm when I'm excited/happy. And, I'm probably faking it so I should get retested to see if I really have ADHD or if we were just wrong and I've been lying all my life.

So, instead of voicing this, I decided to start masking my stimms in front of her and cry my eyes out listening to a song about nuerodivergent joy when I got home and could sob in peace.
