so until a couple weeks ago I had never seen the hit 2000s television show Glee but I started watching it recently and it's just fuckin Im obsessed and idk why it's so fuckin stupid

#they make Javier sing despacito #like one thing about the show i cant get over is the fuckin like ??? insensitivity #like season one Will Schuester says “kayne! mercedes you know kanye”#and shes like yeah :)#but like THE ASSUMPTION THAT MERCEDES WOULD ENJOY KANYE BECAUSE SHE IS THE ONLY BLACK CHARACTER LIKE #and in retrospect looking at kanye 15 years on its a YIKES from me #and i feel so bad for the actors #theres this part where they make Mike and Tina go #“asian kiss?” “asian kiss”#like imagine being the actors and having to say those lines like having to say shit about your race that brings cringe attention to it #and like for youe paycheck you juat have to accept that your identity is inherently laughable somehow???#and this was on TELEVISION #and then im haunted by the scene where artie tries to walk for Tina and falls down #like they didnt even give the character the dignity of like #rolling over to deliver his lines they just had the actor deliver them with his face pressed to the floor #like it was a joke or mocking scenes where disabled people get upset #like it was really cursed and upsetting to me i did not like that scene at all #just the whole show straddles this really uncomfy line between “edgy” humour and after school special sincerity that makes it just #unbelievably callous and like hard to watch #THESE ARE HOT TAKES I KNOW #IF YOU ENJOY THE SHOW MORE POWER TO YOU #i don't have a lense of nostalgia to see it through #i just see the uh #aftermath
