 First Impression

I read the synopsis well and did not open the book yet. I bought it on Big Bad Wolf event around my uni. I have already watch the movie and i am crying over it! Sam Claflin and Lily Collins has chemistry around them. They play their character well in this movie. But i little bit disappointed with Sam Claflin on Me Before You Movie, he is not as good as i expected to be Will Traynor. I am so excited to read this book because the movie was so great af! I know it is pretty late to read this book but who cares by the way? I hope i can finish it ASAP because my spring break have only more days left and it is over. Oh.

 Point of view: I confused how to describe the point of view on this book because it feels like we read their chatting. So i do not tell.

The first time i open a very first pages in this book and observe more of this book and found out that the whole book is just a letters, chatting and conversation online between the characters. I little bit confused though but i am curious with the plot! Even i hate how Cecilia wrote it down, i keep reading it.

As far i read, the plot and a few character is very different from the movie instead. Like Brian, the one who get Rosie pregnant. In the movie the one who get Rosie pregnant is Greg. And i forget who is the girl name whose is Alex girlfriend in Boston. Alex is a doctor oh how cute it is. The movie didn’t tell us what kind of job Alex attend or i forget because it was long time ago. And Stephanie & Phil they did not exist in the movie. Perhaps they changed it a little bit, it is okay though but i still confused sometimes hahaha

The time when Rosie get home after visited Alex in Boston for the first time and she kissed him (because he did not kissed back) i feel the space between them. Even though it just a chat that explain it most but i know they feel something odd. But i like when Alex wrote this to Rosie I don’t want to be any awkwardness between us, Rosie.

Ruby, yes i assuming that this woman is the woman with red-hair (like in the movie). But she has divorced and has 17 years old son. Oh dear it more confusing than ever. Perhaps if i stop comparing the movie and book instead i will not like this.

Sassy little Katie, after she got her first letter from Sally she reply her letters. And the best part that i like most when she wrote this down in her letter I’m glad you liked my dress, but if i were you i would worn a pretty dress like my mum’s for my wedding day. Everyone said that is matched Alex’s tuxedo really well. They made a nice couple, don’t you think?

The wrong-chat parts were hilarious! I almost pissed on my pants when i read those. Rosie was chatting with Ruby and Greg come out. So, Rosie chatting with Ruby & Greg. When Ruby and Rosie talking about Alex, Greg notif comes up and Rosie put the wrong conversation to Greg. Greg replies and Rosie still doing the wrong conversation with the wrong people. Dear, you have to read that on your own, it is on page 85

Katie is Rosie tiny version, there is no doubt! Even Katie has a best-friend named Toby. They get caught note-taking in the class; it feels like nostalgia, isn’t?

Sally and Alex, i’ve got a feeling that their married were not going well. That why Alex keeps emailing Rosie after he married Sally. Oh Alex

i can not believe that Alex already have a son in this book! And he named his JOSH. I agree with Ruby and Phil said about Alex and Rosie. While Ruby said Alex is married Rosie. Move on and make yourself happy.

Phil and Alex chatting discuss about Greg and this word came out from Phil’s mouth He’s not you, you mean.

Alex and Sally divorced! and it was happens a few weeks after Greg and Rosie married. Rosie told everything to Ruby (as always). And would you like to know what she said? Here the spoils Rosie: What irony? Ruby: Oh you know . . . you wait and wait for years for him until you give up and move on with your life. You eventually decided to marry Greg and weeks later, Alex split up with Sally. You know, you two have the worst thing ever. . . When will you ever learn to catch up with each other?

Ok this is too emotional! Alex’s letter to Rosie for the first time he told her how his feeling and i can not take it anymore, i am too happy+cry+frustrated and other feeling complex into one. I just oh how can i explain about this? Read that! read that letter in silence and feel the emotion inside of that letter (page 137)

Greg, i am so much bloody mad at you! you are an ass man. When he email Alex about the letter that he found in the kitchen, that was Alex letter to Rosie! I am so pissed when read their emails! WHY? oh Greg please leave and let Rosie had the love of her life. Sorry guys, i just pissed at the moment. (find out about that starting from page 143- 147)

Punching baby! Kevin punched Greg oh it was hilarious and i love that part even though after that Kevin got trouble at his work but i don’t care he did the right thing. Kevin, he never talk and keep himself in touch enough with his family but when something like that comes, he do the right thing and i am impressed. The reason why he punched Greg in his nose is… (i will not spoil you tough, read that on from page 213)

When Greg got robbed i am glad and i do not blame Rosie at that time because she depressed and mad and off guard. She do something right by telling Alex and Ruby about this but what i do not like is Alex response. I know he works with Bethany father but he shouldn’t have to do that to Rosie. I have no idea who Alex right now because i assuming that Bethany poisoning his mind. Even though i am agree with him about the robbery and the money but i still do not like when he defense Bethany against Rosie. This hurtful part is on page 273 - 277

Toby and Katie were like Alex and Rosie when they were on their age. Even Ms. Casey almost said the same thing too. Hot Toby and Katie pass the notes to each other, how they always distract to each other and how when Monica was like Bethany who came to Alex life. But this time Monica who came to Toby life. Katie mad about it but because Rosie had an experience about it, she told Katie to not do the same thing as she did. What a lovely mother-daughter relationship.

At first, i am so angry when i read that Brian came back after dumb Rosie. Because he left after he knew that Rosie is pregnant. But Brian was such a good man back then. Even though he wasn’t there when Rosie has a bad day to raise Katie but he help Katie to be a DJ like she always wanted and that makes me happy. After that i change my opinion about Brian.

Katie and Rosie make such a good relationship between Mother-Daughter. And i love that part, she always sent Rosie a postcard wherever she is and Rosie do the same. But what i do not like was Katie and Toby separate for a while, she never heard about him since and he did not sent her any mail, postcard or whatever it is. Josh was the one who get along with her and i love that because like what Rosie and Alex ever said that they want their child would be best friend!

After all these years! Greg hide Alex letter and invitation letter to Rosie! How dare he! He gave it to her right after Alice (Rosie Mother) passed away. And that was so unbelievable.

Toby and Katie finally they had the silence like what Rosie and Alex have! Oh how sweet it is. Katie told about that to Rosie and Alex and finally Rosie and Alex realize that they both love each other. And gladly Alex and Bethany had split up! But the time when they realize those silence means love is in the age 50. But never mind, they still love each other at that age and i am glad finally they both realize that they need each other.

This book is completely different with all those book i ever read. Because this book is like you read their email, their chat and more. And it is challenge me. I love that how Cecilia wrote it on different way than the other. I love this book on describe the feeling to each other and from another perspective by letters and chatting.

When i read this first, i compare it to the movie. Even i am hardly fall in love with Sam Claflin and Lily Collins on how they put the character of Rosie and Alex very nicely but i am agree with everyone about this. The book is just the way better. Because the struggle in Rosie life more than real. The complicated marriage of Rosie and complicated marriage of Alex were just so beautiful how Cecilia wrote it down! I just oh how can i describe it into words?

The struggle on Rosie life was the most hurtful thing i ever imagine. It was good that they finally end up on the way they has to be. Thank you so much Cecilia, you make a great novel about fall in love with your best friend even it has to wait long enough until you’re 50s!

I just can not explained it by myself, you guys should read this book in quiet place and in silent. I give 4.5 stars for this book. It’s highly recommended for those who in love with their best friends! Please let me know how you think about my review by leave a note down below 🙏
