I'm imagining a scenario where team Skull go to Twig while Opal is on a play date or something, and ask Twig to teach them opal's unique way of talking so they can better understand her.
And Twig is just reveling in getting to teach these 35-40something year olds how to talk old 'english' style. She'd oblige of course, since they're friends at this point. But she would make her enjoyment of this situation abundantly clear.
Although Twig is more familiar than Team Skull is with the outdated, oftentimes obsolete vocabulary that Opal uses, she’d still defer to Ark as a teacher on this subject. Ye Olde Medieval Pokespeak is something she can struggle with and use incorrectly when she jokingly incorporates it into her own speech, and she doesn’t want to accidentally give Opal further trouble than she already has while interacting with people. She could also use some lessons herself— she understands how things work and how most words are used, but not why, and would sit in with Team Skull as Ark quizzes them on vocabulary and grammar, taking extensive notes as she is so fond of doing.
Also, it’s kinda funny to watch Skuntank squirm when interacting with Ark after an interaction where he realized what Ark’s species was.

since we have headcanons for the emmet + ingo hybrid au, how about some for another character like cyrus? maybe he's some weavile hybrid and you think "well, he's a serious man with serious thoughts. there's no reason he'll get the negative aspects of being a hybrid." no. despite his stoic and uncaring look, he's still a weavile/ferret/weasel at heart and you somehow find him in the laundry room at 2 am taking apart the washer. or he's somehow chewed an electrical wire bc his brain likes rubber.
🌌Weavile Hybrid Cyrus🛰
☄️ He's, admittedly, not happy about being a hybrid. The thick, sharp claws on his hands are most unfortunate and cannot be shaved down despite his best efforts. A single canine of his hangs over his lip and destroys his neutral expression in the most annoying of manners. A red pair of ears and matching tail leave him looking a bit ridiculous. Black fur is gathered on his body. Cyrus would much prefer to be a human.
☄️ Animal instincts take his brain and urge to him burrow and eat small rodent pokemon. It's disgusting. He's a civilised man, not some creature. His status should not even be, coming from two long families of pure humans. Well, so they thought. Apparently, somewhere along the line on his mother's side, someone had mated with a Weavile hybrid and that following child proceeded to stay with humans until the features were complete bred away. Except for a lack of eyebrows. His father's story seemed much the same, but the hybrid it had been was lost to time. They are appalled when Cyrus's birth proved hybridian features.
☄️ The chance for him to be a complete hybrid as a die roll of fate that cursed him. His parents hated that he was not a normal, human son as they wanted. They had no idea how to take care of him and found it easier to ignore and scorn their son. Cyrus grew up alone. He slowly began to hate the world around him. Experiencing prejudice for features he simply had no control over. If was not long until he began to work with some other hybrids of similar circumstance with him (or just an interest in him). A Purugly hybrid, a Skuntank hybrid, and a Toxicroak hybrid.
☄️ Being in Sinnoh, a place that is much more accepting of hybrids, no one questioned four hybrids starting a power company. It was just another Tuesday. Except that these four definitely intended to try to capture the legendary pokemon of Sinnoh.
☄️ You certainly didn't think much of it, having met Cyrus and refusing to leave him alone despite him insisting upon it. You thought he was adorable, a stiff faced Weavile hybrid. The more time you gave to him, the stranger his feelings grew toward you. He hated you at first, but that died as he grew closer to you. You were something pleasant from the monotony of his day-to-day, with his hatred of the world. You relaxed him; you didn't judge him.
☄️ When he acted on his more animalistic urges, you never scolded him and told him to act more human. You just… laughed. You laughed good-naturedly. If he unconsciously started purring, you never told him to stop. Instead, you leaned into it. Whenever an urge to burrow overcame him and led to him messing up the living room with some pitiful attempt at a nest, you just joined him in the pile. He supposes it is the pack nature of Weaviles playing with his head, but he allows himself a simple pleasure with you.
☄️ You, however, are kept ignorant of his plans. You didn't need to know. He couldn't handle your scorn, too. It would be something that would, without a single doubt, break him. He's careful in how hides it. You think it's adorable how he's showing less confident hybrids that anything is possible, especially in a place like Sinnoh. He wishes that were, too, the case, but this world is incomplete and imperfect. Cyrus will make a better one. One without the curse of emotions, spirit, and hybrids. There will be no pokemon, too. You're so blissfully unaware.
☄️ On the bright side, he's happy to help you with things. Have a hard time getting something open? His claws rip it open with ease. Struggling with overheating on a hot summer's day? His body cools you with ease, a lowered body temperature from being an ice-type. His purrs rumble through your body whenever he does them. Wants you to scratch behind his ears, but is too afraid to ask.
☄️ In the end, how you react to finding out your hybrdian boyfriend's plan will determine whether he remains in this realm. He cannot forgive himself for upsetting you. A self-made punishment for his failed love and plans leaves him alone in the Distortion World. Instincts begging for a pack a burrow, but a refusal to give in. Perhaps had he been born a human, none of this would have ever happened.
