#and the stray (i'm assuming it's a stray bc it has no collar) is one i'm familiar with and was alert and behaving normally

man, something about interacting with wildlife in western europe will never not be so, so fucking weird to me
like it truly does feel like you have to make a concerted, intentional effort to encounter A Creature in a way that i've never experienced before (disclaimer here that i grew up and lived in cities where The Outdoors started well within city limits and we regularly had deer and cougars and coyotes just fucking meander through town, i'd probably feel differently i grew up in the middle of nyc or something)
jfc let alone how wild it was to live in the manicured garden island of the uk, although even in belgium my colleagues tell me that you really have to be deep in the woods to encounter a wild animal larger than a cat (and fucking forget about large predators/herbivores)
anyway! was pondering this again bc i got got by a stray cat a few days ago (unhappy accident, i was sat on a bench and a cat jumped up bc it didn't realize i was there and got startled, but immediately wanted to be pet the second it realized i was Just Some Guy). so i went home, cleaned and disinfected it.....and then spent an increasingly baffled twenty minutes trying to find what my options were for getting a rabies vaccine course and only getting options for rabies vaccinations upon return from foreign countries, before i remembered that belgium is considered a rabies-free country lmao
ffs my colleagues looked at me like i was asking them directions for the oregon trail when i was telling them the story

Ok real talk
I never watched lps popular (which may be a shock to some people) so idk if it touched on this topic at all but like
Lps worldbuilding
How far do differences go?
I'm gonna assume that bc lps popular og used a lot of lps brand props found in sets, that the worldbuilding there would probably just allow the viewer to make assumptions about how the pets(?)/animals live their lives. I'm not going to go too far deep bc again, haven't watched it (someday I will and I'll come back to this, though. maybe. probably. if I remember)
I'm going to ignore the whole lps show hasbro made as that is so far removed from what I'm talking about
So like. It's implied in most youtube skits that humans straight up don't exist and that lps "pets" are sentient beings capable of using tools and having language and doing math ect. But has anyone ever made like... idk headcanons on how "pet" history/society works? Like surely there's at least one project out there that plays with the idea that humans once existed and that's why all the tech they have is based off of what humans used. Or maybe even that humans never existed and "pets" evolved to be sentient and made these tools/buildings/etc themselves. Like. Lps Anthropology??????? Headcanons???? Is that a thing??? Am I looking into it too deep????
Like would cats still use litterboxes because they invented them like that because they knew this was a better solution than going outside and pooping in the woods, or would they have a different kind of device? Would they invent a "pet" sized rendition of a toilet that humans had piece for piece or would there be differences for accommodations like tails or different limbs- what would a toilet that a bird made, for birds, look like???
Would dogs wear collars as accessories and just forgo the idea of it needing a leash? Or would some dogs use collars with leashes to leash their young pups so they don't stray too far from the parents, and have it be customary that they wear collars afterwards? What would wheelchairs look like? Would they be the same as what humans have invented for animals irl or do you think they would design it differently?
How do "pets" write? Surely, their alphabet would be different as they would have invented it differently than humans. How many different languages would be invented? Would it vary species by species, or would it vary depending on where they live? How did they learn to count? What do their numbers look like?
What would tools look like? How would cars work?
