Avantree C51 Bluetooth Transmitter Review
The Avantree C51 is a compact Bluetooth transmitter that allows you to add wireless streaming capabilities to any device with a USB Type C port. I tested out the C51 to evaluate its performance.
Key Features
【PERFECT PAIRING】Our Bluetooth 5.0 audio transmitter specially designed for use with the Nintendo Switch as well as providing a perfect solution to enable Non-Bluetooth PC/Other Devices to use bluetooth headphones and speakers. Get wireless freedom and never be bound again!
【EASY TO USE】Plug and Play for your convenience with an LED indicator, connection setup is simple utilizing the Nintendo switch USB C port directly for portable use. Includes USB C to A cable, so you can plug it to the Switch dock for home use.
【NO LIP-SYNC DELAY】Supports the aptX low latency and FastStream codec to virtually eliminate audio-visual lag making the C51 an ideal choice for playing games. For best results, use with aptX low latency or FastStream codec supporting headphones, e g Avantree Aria, ANC031 or ANC032.
【NO BATTERY HASSLE】The battery-free C51 receives power directly from your Nintendo Switch. Only drawing minimal power from your Switch, it is safe from being Bricked. Simultaneously charge your Nintendo Switch thru the C51 while in use for unlimited power.
【Music Stream or Gaming Chat】Simply double click the MFB to switch C51 to call mode. The LED will flash white quickly. For simultaneously stream STEREO voice and music while gaming, please use Avantree FastStream supported headphones.
Design and Setup
The C51 has a slim and portable design making it easy to pair with laptops, tablets, and smartphones. It charges via USB C and includes a short USB C to C cable.
Setup only takes a moment – simply plug the C51 into any USB C port to instantly transmit audio over Bluetooth. I connected it to my USB C laptop and was streaming music in seconds.
Bluetooth Performance
Pairing my Bluetooth headphones took just a tap, and the transmission range held up impressively at over 30 feet without dropouts. Audio sound quality was excellent thanks to support for the efficient aptX and AAC codecs.
Watching video on my laptop, the audio and video stayed perfectly in sync thanks to the low latency transmission. No noticeable lag at all.
Customer review
Q: Does this work with ipads?
A: iPad has bluetooth built in, you don’t need this
Q: Does this work with iPad Pro?
A: iPad has bluetooth built in, you don’t need this
Q: By any change can this be used on my keyboard to make it wireless?
A: If you look for a default implementation the answer is no. This will only work as a USB sound device to the pc, Nintendo switch and Android. Bluetooth pairing is on its own board. To pair Bluetooth you need to use the button on the board, and have the earphones in to pairing mode so the 2 pair each other’s. As you cannot choose the pairing device from keyboard, I doubt you can connect it to a keyboard. On the other hand it is also doubtful that the keyboard input can be transmit to the computer through it.
Q: Can you use when the switch is docked?
A: Just tested this real quick, can confirm it works.
Q: Has anyone used with google stadia ?
A: I couldn’t get it working. It works with my phone, a pixel 3 xl. And I can get the pixel wired earbuds to work with the stadia controller. But this headset + stadia controller doesn’t work.
Q: Does this device work as a transmitter with Airpods? Other brands do not provide a means to control volume in the transmitter mode.
A: Airpods work, but volume control is from the device not the transmitter
If you need to stream audio from a TV, stereo or other optical source, the C51 won’t work and you’ll need a transmitter with optical input like the Avantree Priva III. But for a fuss-free USB audio transmitter, the C51 gets the job done.

My UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter Review (Recorded Video) - Part 3.5 [Jan 14, 2021]
Here’s my part 3.5 of my UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter for my Windows PC.📶🖥️😊
In this half part of no. 3, I have another recorded video (from my Honor 8C phone 📲) where I discovered some sound differences from my Awei Y200 Bluetooth speaker, as well as my extended experience about it.🙂
BTW: My 2nd record video was passed the 100MB limit, unlike the first one.
If you haven’t seen my “Part 3″ then please [CLICK ME!].
*But before that, I want YOU… Yes you, which you’re reading my description. I want you to watch my recorded video first 📹📲 (as a observation) before you read the rest of my reaction experience. Hope you’re watching…
So without further ado, let’s get started:
My Experience: • (Now as you already done watching video.) You’ve already seen or watched my procedures about connecting Bluetooth using my UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter through Windows 10 PC from my Part 3,right? So, I’m just gonna skip ahead and turn on my Awei Y200 Bluetooth speaker anyways, once more.
•Now aside from the normal stereo of the Awei Y200, there’s another one right here when I clicked the upper option; in which you can see a selection of playback device. When I click the “Hands-Free AG Audio” of Awei Y200, the sound of it is very low quality as I describe; yet not my taste of that audio profile playback, so I revert to the original stereo one.
• So what is “Hands-Free AG Audio” you asked? Well according to this website [CLICK ME!]: “The two roles are called the Audio Gateway (AG), and Headset (HS) or Hands-Free (HF). The AG is typically a phone or computer that is connected to a remote data source. It controls the HS that acts as the remote microphone and speaker and includes commands to answer, hang up, ring, and control the volume.” Meaning that I can use my Bluetooth speaker as a audio remote? 😕 Hmmm... That’s sounds very something though.🤔 I tried, but it didn’t work so I’ll just sled by...
•My experience usage of UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter/Receiver connecting my Windows 10 PC through my Awei Y200 Bluetooth speaker was great, and I mean super duper GREAT 😁, than my old Lenovo laptop’s built-in Bluetooth before. I even tested out the range limit up to 10 to 20 meters distance from inside my house; as my Awei Bluetooth speaker can reach to the kitchen🔪🍳 and also my parents’ bedroom 🛏️ without any lost audio cuts (of sorts), while listening a relaxing music jazz on Youtube 🔊🎶. (Something that my Lenovo Laptop’s built-in Bluetooth didn’t exceeds the long range limit.) Even inside the bathroom or backyard can reach the audio sound of more than 20 meters distance, but it tends to lost audio; I have to be less than 20 meters limit though from connecting Bluetooth wireless with my speaker, because this is better than making more distance 📏.
• I also tested the touch buttons from my Awei Bluetooth speaker from a long 10 - 15 meter distance. I can play & pause the music/video ⏸️▶️, next & previous music track/video ⏮️⏭️ and even can adjust the volume sound from high to low 🔊🔉without reaching the mouse or keyboard ❌🖱️⌨️; the control of audio is right here on my Awei Bluetooth speaker! Plus I haven’t encountered some latency issues whatsoever while playing either music or video, and that’s a good thing.🙂👍
• The only con I found was inability to use microphone from my Awei Bluetooth speaker ❌🎙️. I know, I tried to enabled the microphone for google search but it didn’t function for wireless variant. (Not to mention the phone icon from my Awei Bluetooth speaker was useless for Windows PC, only androids/iOS can use microphone and touch call.) So much for that...🤷♂️
• As for the gaming sound while playing some emulators and other games I have 🎮🖥️🎶🔊, it performs the same as before. 🙂👍
Overall: • I have to say, this USB Bluetooth Adapter from UGREEN is far more better than my old Lenovo Laptop’s built-in Bluetooth card. That old Bluetooth card just can’t handle the long range limit, and it has only less than 10 meters. UGREEN’s USB Bluetooth Adapter on the other hand exceeds up to 10 - 20 meters connection range limit thanks to the latest feature specs, and thank goodness I picked the right USB Bluetooth Adapter for my Windows 10 PC.😁
There’s so much to do for my UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter, and hopefully I will finish it this topic before I proceed or continue my other topic reviews. Once again, hope I will try some other wireless devices very soon.😊🎧🎮📱
Well, that’s all for now. If you want to see related posts about that, I’ll provide some links down below.↓😉

found on music players, computers and most other electronic devices with audio outputs. It can support stereo and/or microphone, depending on the number of separate connector rings on the jack. Some phones offer only a 2.5 mm jack, which is a smaller variety of the same principle. Headphones supplied with mobile phones usually have a mic somewhere along the cable and a remote button that allows for managing calls without using the phone. Some manufacturers opt for placing a 3.5mm audio jack on this remote control instead of directly on the phone itself. The reason for this is that 3.5mm jacks take up quite a lot of internal space; plus, in this way the user gets to keep the remote control/mic functionality while using third-party headphones.

TIPS Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Austin TX: ● Set up a smart system (don’t use twelve 15-inch subwoofers and a pair of tweeters) ● Proper system settings (don’t set input sensitivity by ear. Use the proper starting points on crossovers). ● Actually listen to the system. Use a test disc that has tracks to identify left and right channels, and phase tracks at various bands (low frequency, mid frequency and high frequency as well as full range). ● Try changing the polarity of one side of the vehicle (I always change the right speaker just to be consistent.) and listen to it again. If it is better, leave it. If not, put it back and move on. Do this with the subwoofer too. ● Listen to the system again. This time use music you know pretty well. Find tracks that challenge transition areas (the area where you are crossing over from one speaker, like the sub, to another, like the door speakers. ● JL Audio Listen with and without the subwoofer connected. ● Listen to see if the door speaker can play loud and clear without bottoming out. Try a lower crossover point and listen again. Go as low as you can without issue and then go up a click or two for good measure. ● Then bring in the sub. Blend it in so that it is not overpowering the door speaker. Try raising and lowering the crossover point to see how it changes the sound. If you can change the crossover slope (IE: From 12 dB to 24dB) you might need to go back and do the phase test mentioned earlier since the slope of the crossover will change the phase as well. ● head with music Listen to the system again. Use music you know pretty well again and this time just listen. The trick here is that you should know what it is supposed to sound like…Go to some concerts and consider some diversity in music. A lot of bars have live music which can be good or bad. But when it is bad, at least you know it is bad. When you go back to tune a vehicle (or a room), don’t make it sound bad! Listen at all levels. Low, mid and high volumes. Make sure that at high volumes, the system does not get screechy. It should play loud and clean and effortlessly. ● If the system sounds strained, it will most likely have issues. Those issues can show up in a few ways, one is failures (blown speakers or amplifiers shutting off) and the other is listener fatigue. If your customer is reaching for the volume to turn it down because it is too harsh, they are not going to enjoy their system. If they are reaching to turn it up, you’ve done well…that means that they love the sound and they want even more. ● Don’t be afraid to make changes to your settings to see how they sound. This is how you will gauge if you have dialed everything in right. Just be careful about playing things too loud until you have verified the capabilities of the system. ● Finally, explain to your customer what you have done and why. Listen to the system with the customer using their music. See what they think. Stay engaged with them while they tell you what they like and what they dislike (if anything). Since you have intimate knowledge of the capabilities of the system you will know how to address their concerns should they have any.
COST
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Austin TX: One thing is that parts will need to be bought and some work will be done on the car. The panel cover will need to be removed in order to access the XM module and the back of the facial or panel. You will need to buy an aux jack, wires, soldering gun/ iron, solder wire, and much more. But who is going to do the job? If you are competent and confident in your skills, you can do it yourself. This will save you the labor cost as well as time. All you need to worry about purchasing the parts.
However, if you take it to a repair shop, then be prepared to spend some money. In fact, you will be surprised that labor might cost more than the parts. Buying the parts yourself is usually cheaper. However, some shops always insist that they buy the accessories themselves, of course, to make a margin from it. The cost of labor may range from $50-100 depending on the installer and the region.
Before settling for any specific service provider, it pays to look around and compare prices. Always deal with a competent and reputable company.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I install a new Audio jack, can I still use my steering wheel controls?
You sure can if you install a special adapter. And when you buy any stereo from us, you'll get a deep discount on the steering wheel control adapter for your car. See our article about Steering Wheel Audio Control Adapters for more information.
I can’t see the display when the sun shines on it. Are there displays that are easier to read in direct sunlight?
We’ve found that displays that let you tilt the face, often found on DVD and navigation receivers, are the best solution. These receivers also give you large touchscreens, let you play movies while you’re parked, and give you a slew of other fantastic features. If your receiver can do it, try changing the color of the display or adjusting the brightness and contrast to help cut through the glare. To see these suggestions in action, watch our video about avoiding glare on the display. Can I use Bluetooth to stream music and make phone calls?
Absolutely! And you can often do even more, like running and controlling Internet apps. Basically, a Bluetooth connection works as a bridge between your phone and your dash. Even if your receiver doesn’t offer control over apps, you can stream the audio from your phone and play it in your car. Our video about Bluetooth in the car will give you all the details.
Can my factory speakers handle a high-powered CD receiver?
Your factory speakers should be able to handle the output from an aftermarket CD receiver, but there are limits to their performance. Turn up your new radio with the car sitting still, make a note of the volume level at which your factory speakers start to distort, and avoid cranking the radio up past that point.
How much power does my factory system have?
While we don't have exact power ratings for the systems in specific vehicles, we can tell you that factory systems usually have less power than aftermarket units.
How much power do I need to get optimum performance from my car's sound system? Since every car stereo is different, there's no magic wattage formula. As long as you stay within the recommended power range of your speakers, increasing power will always add richness and depth to your music. Compare a spinet piano to a concert grand. The small piano is good enough to play music clearly, but move up to a grand and you'll gain better tone, greater harmonic detail, and more volume. The larger instrument is simply more powerful.
How can I be sure the radio I want will fit into my dash?
You can count on Auto Sounds to have stereo fit information for just about every car, truck and van on the road today. Our Vehicle Research team has gathered data on thousands of vehicles, and your car or truck is probably one of them.

Our Vehicle Research team has gathered data on thousands of vehicles, and your car or truck is probably one of them.

found on music players, computers and most other electronic devices with audio outputs.

TIPS
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Omaha NE:
● Set up a smart system (don’t use twelve 15-inch subwoofers and a pair of tweeters)
● Proper system settings (don’t set input sensitivity by ear.
COST
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Omaha NE: One thing is that parts will need to be bought and some work will be done on the car.

Loud Car Audio Stereos
Problem
The world has experienced a rise in the digerati generation. This generation likes playing music content in the car via mp3 stereos or FM broadcasts (Waitt et al. 331). Car manufacturing industries have much invested in the installation of audio stereo technology in all types of vehicles to satisfy the needs of those people that like listening to music or podcasts while traveling. However, not everyone has a taste of listening to music or other loud noises. The installation of loud music stereos in vehicles, especially the public cars, has been a challenge to many, and some passengers have gone into an extent of filing cases against drivers with noise pollution in their vehicles.
Affected generation
The most vulnerable population to the loud audio systems in public vehicles are the older adults, younger children and infants, and other people with hearing problems. Studies show that noise pollution has some adverse effects on the health of a person. The mentioned groups are at risk of suffering from physiological changes in vascular, hormonal, and nervous body systems. The older people are at risk of getting high blood pressure, depressions, and other related stress illnesses when exposed to loud noises in these vehicles (Yu et al.). Loud music may cause permanent hearing loss to children and people with hearing challenges due to their delicate and damage-susceptible ear canals. Loud noise mainly will frighten infants and children below ten years.
Relevance
Car manufacturer technologists should keep in mind that not everybody will like the high-quality audio system installation in vehicles during the production process. They should find alternatives that will ensure equity to all their customers and other affected population. Loud noise has a severe problem as it can permanently damage cochlea cell membranes to anyone.
Technology Background
Audio stereo technology in cars dated back in the year 1904 and was first innovated by Lee de Forest. Since then, there have been many developments witnessed in this technology. First, there was the technology of car radio that is a radio receiver that broadcasts its channels through the FM, AM, or satellite (Strayer et al. 1375). The radio has other features of playing music through the cassettes, compact disks, and the recent flash disk MP3.
The other recent technology added to the cars is the Android and Apple CarPlay. These features enhance the road users to connect their mobile phone features to them, therefore, reducing driving distractions. The road users can use their phone devices without necessarily touching them or losing concentration on the road while driving or riding. This feature is integrated into the car dashboard and usually performs the functions of music playing, making calls, receiving and texting of messages and showing GPS locations.
Car Bluetooth is another technological innovation that delivers similar features as the CarPlay. All these wireless connections usually link the mobile devices and personal computers to the installed car audio system. The other recent technology in the car audio system is the installation of sound absorbers that acts as soundproof. This technology has also been used in aircraft, machines, locomotives, and automobiles to attenuate the intensity of a sound.
Diversity consideration
We are in a century where almost everyone is excited about music. Many young people have installed audio stereos in their houses for entertainment purposes. This trend has also produced the technology of audio radios in every car. For any automobile to qualify to be a vehicle, it must have the super quality audio system installed (Waitt et al. 324-342). However, not all vehicle users will like the idea of music systems in the car, especially in public use vehicles.
The most disturbing thing about the audio systems in the car is that it can play music in bass and tremble, and this excites the younger generation even more. The content of the popular music genre lacks the inclusion of all people meaning that it lacks diversity such that not everybody is interested in it. Music creates anxiety and fear among younger children. Most of the children during traveling in loud music will be seen crying (Weyde et al. 127). This loud music poses a danger of a child going deaf if exposed to loud music for a long time. Older adults are generally irritated, depressed, and annoyed by noise (Oh et al. 372). When people get older, hair cells and the ear fibers deteriorate. Many older people will develop cases of high blood pressure or permanent hearing loss. Loud music also will reduce the ability to understand conversations among these people leading to autism disorder (Li). In other words, the technology of audio stereos has created age-ism in the services provided by the public transport system. Every person has a civil right to a conducive environment when using the road irrespective of the age. Music has become a meme in most cultures, but sound developers and engineers should produce sound devices that will provide a sound that is not a nuisance to people in general.
Current solution
As mentioned earlier, the car manufacturers have adopted another audio technology of using soundproofs and sound filters in cars for quality sound production purposes. In this technology, the sound frequency is set in a way that it cannot cause damage to the hearing ability of an individual (Liang et al.). The current solution still does not eliminate the problem because some people still require a quiet noise-free environment while traveling. The production of the so-called quality sounds is not a solution, according to these people. This situation has created a challenge for the car manufacturers because still, some people prefer cars with the best-installed sound system.
My Solution
From the above problem associated with technology in car manufacturing, I think those car manufacturers should adopt a new sound technology that is fit for all generations in society. The method is supposed to meet the satisfaction and provide a favorable car use environment of both the young and the old. In this case, the best technology that the manufacturers should adopt is the installation of an audio system that is connected to the car seat headsets. In this situation, those people that love music will have a chance of listening to it through earphones and headphones while traveling. This installation will give the car the quietest and conducive environment for all people aboard. The driver will be able to hear car safety signal sounds while driving, thus minimizing the chances of accidents occurring.
Another solution to this problem is the use of Bluetooth stereos that connect wirelessly with passengers' Bluetooth headsets, thus minimizing noise inside the cars. This technology will serve every generation because people will listen to music on their will. Also, the challenge of noise pollution that mainly affects the elderly, infants, and people with hearing issues will be eliminated without doing away with the car audio stereo technology.
Conclusion
The main challenge that is associated with car audio stereos is the hearing damage. This damage will occur to anyone, whether young or old, or when using headsets. The solution to this problem is to increase awareness of music lovers about the associated health problems accompanied by prolonged use of earphones. For the adoption of a car headset audio system, the car manufacturer should meter the magnitude of sound frequencies to a level that will not damage the auditory system of users. This solution will be achieved through the use of audio filters and absorbers, thus keeping all the road users in a safe environment.

I use this on my PC since it is semi-old and doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities so this is perfect so I can use my Bluetooth headphones with my PC. I can still listen to whatever I am doing even across my room and most of upstairs so the range is great. The dongle itself is small which is a good thing so it doesn't stick out too much of my PC. Since it is all black it does blend in with my PC which is nice. I didn't have any drops while using except when my headphones batteries died. Work perfectly, and it's well made.

found on music players, computers and most other electronic devices with audio outputs.

TIPS Car Audio Jack Installation Service near McAllen TX: ● Set up a smart system (don’t use twelve 15-inch subwoofers and a pair of tweeters) ● Proper system settings (don’t set input sensitivity by ear.
COST
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near McAllen TX:One thing is that parts will need to be bought and some work will be done on the car.

WFT is Bluetooth?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard used for exchanging data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances using short-wavelength UHF radio waves. (Wikipedia) This post may contain affiliate links, please read my disclosure here Bluetooth was created to replace wired connections and enable wireless communications. Compared to other wireless connection it has a relatively low power consumption. Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which has more than 35,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, computing, networking, and consumer electronics. (Wikipedia) The range for Bluetooth varies depending on surrounding conditions, materials around, production variations of the devices, antenna configurations, and battery conditions. Most Bluetooth applications are for indoor conditions, as there are fewer objects and situations that could cause loss of the connection.
Five Things You Don't Know About Bluetooth Range from Bluetooth SIG on Vimeo. The connection between Bluetooth and other devices typically operates in 1:1 pairings, where the connection is dependent on the device. So your Bluetooth headphones are dependant on your phone when you connect them and they do whatever your phone says. Currently, Bluetooth devices support up to two streams of music to different products. Bluetooth versions The latest series of Bluetooth is 5. The latest version is 5.2 which brings a few changes to the capabilities for the technology. Bluetooth 4.0 vs. Bluetooth 5.0 https://ift.tt/2CpX1tv The major difference between various iterations is the range, battery life, and compatibility. These are all important when choosing your Bluetooth headphones. Here are some of the biggest differences between Bluetooth 4.0 and the new and improved Bluetooth 5.0: Bluetooth 4 was developed to manage “the internet of things.” It is a bit older tech based on the life and speed of technological changes. Bluetooth 4.1 features include: » 24 MBps speeds » 300-foot coverage » 2.4 to 2.485 GHz bandwidths This version was one of the first to be more stable and be able to work with most devices. Bluetooth 4 and its sub iterations introduced the ability to use low energy or low power Bluetooth for longer battery life. Bluetooth 5.0 came out in 2016 with some upgrades that included a significant improvement in speed to 48 MBps, an extended range that measured at 985 feet, and advancements in privacy and security for the system. These changes were a great boost to the development of Bluetooth speakers. The triple increase of the range allows you to play music from your phone or computer to speakers that are across the room and then some. One thing to note is that Bluetooth 5.0 devices are not all backward compatible with older devices. So make sure that your phone and other devices can handle your brand new gadget with this latest version. While you would not need an extended range or faster speed necessary for your headphones, the 5.2 version has some exciting new tech that will improve Bluetooth headphones. Bluetooth LE Audio will let multiple devices share music or movies from a tablet, computer or phone. That is a major change as previously the sharing was limited to a maximum of two devices. This evolved technology your family might be able to watch the same movie on a tablet or listen to the same album on a phone, using Bluetooth headphones. This also would be good in public areas where multiple people can listen to the news or game on TV using their personal Bluetooth devices. Where previously you needed a connection splitter for folks to enjoy the same show at the same time, it is now possible to do the same wirelessly. I prefer using a mouse much more than the touchpad, and so when traveling for business, a Bluetooth powered mouse has been very useful and great to bring along. » Wireless control of and communication between a mobile phone and a Bluetooth compatible car stereo system. This way you can listen to any app containing music on your phone through the multiple speakers in your car. You are not tied down or stuck with only what is streaming through the radio. » Wireless communication between a smartphone and a smart lock for unlocking doors. When you are traveling and need to lock or unlock the door, Bluetoo tech makes it possible. Also can unlock the door when coming back with your luggage with just the phone without having to search for key.s » Use Bluetooth on the phone to determine if there are any wireless cameras in a hotel room. This is a great safety travel tip, especially when staying in rentals by owners. » Wireless streaming of audio to headphones with or without communication capabilities. » Wireless streaming of data collected by Bluetooth-enabled fitness devices to phone or PC » Transfer of files, contact details, calendar appointments, and reminders between devices. » Enable remote communications for GPS receivers, medical equipment, bar code scanners, and traffic control devices. » Deliver advertisements using Bluetooth-enabled advertising technology to mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. » Game consoles such as Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PlayStation 3 use Bluetooth for their respective wireless controllers. » Short-range transmission of health sensor data from medical devices to a mobile phone » Real-time location systems are used to track and identify the location of objects in real-time. Tags such as the Tile or the TrackR use Bluetooth technology to find your missing item using wireless signals » Google uses data collected from travelers' Bluetooth devices to predict travel times and road congestion for motorists » Wireless transmission of audio (a more reliable alternative to FM transmitters) » Connection of motion controllers to a PC when using VR headsets » Bluetooth adapter (built-in or external dongle) for your laptop Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi TL;DR: Wi-Fi enables you to connect to the Internet, Bluetooth connects you to other devices (no Internet connection directly from it) Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have some similar applications: setting up networks, printing, or transferring files. Wi-Fi replaces high-speed cables that tie down your devices to a specific location when you are accessing local area networks in work areas or home to get onto the Internet. Bluetooth was intended for portable equipment and its applications. Bluetooth For Internet Acces These seem counterintuitive based on the information above, though you can use your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone as a modem for internet access on your laptop. So it still does not provide the actual service, instead, it sets up a connection. This is great in a pinch when there's no Wi-Fi service available or your regular internet service goes down. The main benefit of using Bluetooth instead of a USB cable for tethering is that you can keep your cell phone in your bag or pocket and still make the connection. Note that once your phone is being used as your laptop's access to the internet, all the data downloaded to and uploaded from your laptop is using your phone's data plan. Make sure that you have enough data available or that you have an unlimited data type of plan. Related articles: Top 5 Bluetooth Advancements From 2019 WTF are Noise Canceling Headphones? Google Stadia Review: Console Free Gaming at a Price – Your Sanity!
Our verdict of the Google Stadia: A promising cloud gaming experience hampered by unreliable setup, a limited launch library, and missing features. With the right games, this could be awesome, but while early adopters might keep faith, it's unlikely there's a subscription market for casual gamers.610
Announced to an unsurprised world in mid-2019, Google Stadia is a cloud gaming platform that does away with hardware. Launching in November 2019, both a week earlier and with more problems than planned, it has caused a bit of a storm.
The consensus is that Stadia is far from awesome.
But does it work, should you get one, and will it be worth the time and effort setting it up? To find out, we bought one, plugged it in, and… waited.
A Games Console Experience Without the Console
Stadia lets you play games through your TV, and ships with a game controller. There’s an impressive (if small) selection of premium games available, with 5.1 surround sound, 4K resolution, HDR, and 60FPS. These include (with more on the way):
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Attack on Titan 2
Destiny 2
Farming Simulator 19
Final Fantasy XV
Football Manager 2020
Metro Exodus
Red Dead Redemption 2
Samurai Shodown
Tomb Raider (2013)
Wolfenstein: Youngblood
But Stadia isn’t a games console. So, what on earth is it?
In short, it’s a completely new approach to gaming: a game console experience on any device. This is made possible thanks to some impressively powerful cloud game servers, utilizing a specialized graphics chip developed with AMD.
Cloud gaming is streamed over the internet, which means, in theory, you can play Stadia titles on a phone, PC, even an iPad.
The main Stadia gaming experience is via a TV, however, and to get started you’ll need the Stadia app. It’s available on Android and iOS and is needed to provide access to your Stadia account, games library, and to sync the dedicated controllers.
Cloud gaming comes will all manner of shortcomings, not least latency. To deal with this, the controller connects via Wi-Fi directly to the cloud game server.
What’s In the Box: A Chromecast and a Controller
We ordered a Stadia Founder’s Edition box at the $129.99 launch price back in July, in advance of the November 28th launch. Pre-ordering meant getting a few useful bonuses, such as a free game and early username selection.
The next phase is Stadia Premiere Edition, $129.99 with free shipping, which is available to order now. Whatever your edition, Stadia comes with a choice of packages.
A monthly subscription to the Stadia Pro package is $9.99, which gives you improved streaming performance over the non-subscription access. This means the full frame rate and resolution, HDR, and 5.1 surround-sound. You also get to enjoy a free game on a regular release cycle.
Without the subscription, the streaming quality is reduced. However, Stadia Base isn’t available until 2020, delivering 1080p resolution and standard stereo sound. Unsurprisingly, there’s no free game.
Of course, a fast internet connection is required for streamed gaming. The recommended minimum speed is a 10Mbps connection, with the best results at around 35Mbps or more. (We tested the service using a 45Mbps link.)
Games can be bought, and permanently (or for as long as Stadia exists) added to your library. Access to the games is managed via the mobile app.
Unboxing Google Stadia
When the box arrived, it came a week early. It’s a smart piece of packaging, striking futuristic white, metallic print, and hard edges. Inside, there’s more white, along with a 4.13-inch by 6.4-inch Wi-Fi controller, and a Chromecast Ultra.
Along with chargers and USB Type-C cables, and a few quick start guides, that’s all there is. For multiplayer testing purposes, we also grabbed a second controller, which came in its own box. These retail for a further $69.99 which is standard these days for a branded controller.
That’s basically it. As you should have realized, what you get in the box just helps you to access Stadia. It’s not a console, it’s a service.
Hooking Up Stadia
With Chromecast Ultra, game controller, and mobile app to hand, I set about connecting the Stadia. I put aside 15 minutes—after all, how hard could it be?
First, I plugged in the power adaptor for the Chromecast and an Ethernet cable to the router. This caused some problems, due to the placement of the Ethernet port on the Chromecast Ultra’s adaptor. Thankfully, it was easily solved with some rearrangement of plugs.
Next, the Chromecast Ultra is connected to the TV, the power cable connected, and the TV switched on. With the Stadia app running on my smartphone, I commenced setup.
At this point, you’re perhaps thinking: “all those other reviews said Stadia was awful!” But bear in mind, at this point, I don’t know how good or bad it is. I haven’t set it up yet.
And as it happened, I wouldn’t be able to for several hours. Having spent two months checking my emails and spam folder every day, I had not received the Stadia activation code. Without it, there would be no cigar.
It seems that the code arrives after the device is connected to your network and payment is taken. However, it’s not clear what triggers this. Perhaps the receipt of the box triggers payment or syncing the Chromecast Ultra with the Stadia app does. Either way, I had a three-hour wait for the activation code to arrive.
Stadia’s Bad Reputation
Following its public unveiling in June 2019, Stadia’s reputation has slowly, but surely, declined as more facts have been revealed. A narrow game library was bolstered in early November; a Reddit AMA revealed key features would be missing at launch. (This includes Buddy Pass, a way of sharing the subscription with a friend for three months.)
It’s not cheap, either. The Founder’s Edition (reviewed here) affords three free months of Stadia access and two free games. But once the free period is up, other games must be bought—it’s not a free, Netflix-like library.
Since launch, Stadia has been haunted by several issues. There are the missing activation codes; missing “join a game via YouTube” feature; overheating Chromecast Ultras (and dismissive Google responses); streaming issues; an inability to launch games.
Setting up the Stadia controllers requires the mobile app. This is used to sync the controller to your Wi-Fi network and establish a connection with the game server. The Chromecast Ultra then streams the action to you as the game plays.
That is, of course, if you can get Stadia to launch the game…
The Stadia Game Wouldn’t Launch
Another problem encountered setting up Stadia was an inability to get the game to launch via the app or Chromecast. Instead, the user is caught in a cycle of “refresh the app” to fix the issue… which doesn’t fix anything.
Advice on this issue wasn’t easy to find at the time, although a Reddit user had tracked down the relevant support page.
The solution here is to register the Stadia account on the Chromecast using a linking code. With that done, it was finally possible to launch a game…
Finally, We’re Gaming With Stadia
Boom! That bit of technical help launched the first of the free games, the rebooted Samurai Shodown. Having heard horror stories of latency and lag, I was apprehensive to say the least; the issues activating and launching games earlier hadn’t helped.
Yet I was pleasantly surprised. Crisp graphics, good sound quality and responsive actions made for a tip-top gaming experience. The second controller was set up via the app and a two-player game initiated. Another good result.
Two days later, those complaints about the Founders Edition being a glorified beta seem self-indulgent.
Stadia clearly works. It’s not perfect, of course, but then what is?
For example, access to Stadia is also available through other devices, notably a PC with the Chrome browser. Gameplay here is slightly different. The Ethernet connection on the Chromecast Ultra plays a huge part in delivering a stable gaming environment to a TV.
Ethernet is recommended for PC play, as otherwise you’re limited by audio/video lag and latency. Sadly, the Stadia controllers cannot be used wirelessly via a computer. Instead, you’ll need to connect using USB, grab a previously set up game controller, or rely on the keyboard.
PC play is certainly an area where Stadia needs to improve. As there have been murmurs of family/household multiplayer, it makes sense to perfect it.
Secrets of the Stadia Controller
You can do more with the Stadia Wi-Fi controller than simply play games.
The controller uses Wi-Fi to connect to your Stadia account and launch and control games. It features the standard layout of dual thumbpads, a D-pad, a diamond of four buttons, two shoulder buttons, and two triggers. A USB Type-C port is on the rear of the controller for charging and cabled connection.
Facing the player is a headphone port (Bluetooth support is planned), and under this a microphone. The controller also features five other buttons:
Stadia button to power on, also used in Wi-Fi connections
An Options button
Google Assistant (disabled at the time of writing)
Menu button
Capture button (quick tap for screenshots, long press for last 30 seconds of video)
Capture syncs directly to your app, but it’s almost impossible to share the footage. No doubt that’s just another feature waiting to be fixed, but the current method is to use Google Takeout to download Stadia data to your Google Drive account and retrieve your captures, which are frustratingly stored in WEBM format. That’s particularly clunky when everyone wants to share gaming footage.
Whatever happens with Stadia long-term, controllers are almost certainly going to be the target of hackers. The question is, will it be someone trying to install Linux, or will the devices turn into security risks.
Stadia Is for Gamers, But Do They Want It?
The Stadia controllers are perhaps the highlight of the entire experience. While getting a Chromecast Ultra into the bargain is a good deal, the 4K is largely wasted without the right display and top-quality broadband speeds.
Stadia is positioned in the market as being a platform-agnostic experience for gamers. But it’s a crowded market and one that’s already divided by platform, which dedicated gamers tend to be loyal to. Although the monthly subscription of $9.99 might seem steep, there is something here. The question is, can Google overcome the lack of expected launch features and gain critical mass?
I’ve enjoyed using Stadia, but overall there is a good chance that Google has just got this whole thing wrong. Gaming isn’t just about the games. It’s also about the hardware, including the controller, and the type of games that are available on it. While physical sales have dropped, AAA titles continue to do well.
And those AAA games are the ones you’ll find on Stadia. The problem is, you’ve probably already got them on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, whatever. You almost certainly don’t want to buy the games again, and probably not without a physical copy if you didn’t already have one.
Has Google inadvertently launched a premium gaming service for casual gamers? If it has, Stadia isn’t going to last long without a quick rethink about its subscription model. They might even consider delivering a physical product (a box, limited edition artwork, etc.) for deluxe editions.
Overall though, Stadia works as a gaming service. With a good library of games, it can only get better, although Google might consider something closer to Xbox’s Games with Gold or Game Pass long-term.
If Stadia lasts that long.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the G1 Google Phone and Android – Part 1
A one-stop guide for the T-Mobile G1 phone, running Google's Android mobile operating system. Android is an open source project, designed specifically to make it easy for developers both professional and amateur to create their own applications which access every part of the phone's hardware.
Interim Update (starting 5th of February)
From Android Talk (3rd of February):
"To ensure a great experience with the T-Mobile G1 with Google, customers with these devices will receive an Over the Air (OTA) update to their devices between February 5 and February 15. This OTA will include new system enhancements such as the ability to save pictures or files to file by long-pressing an item, check for system updates, and use the Google Voice Search feature. The OTA will also fix a number of known issues. New G1 activations will receive the OTA up to three days after service has been activated. "
This update looks to be pretty much as listed above, adding the ability to save pictures and files with a long press, fixing a few minor bugs (none of which I've personally experienced, but which have been bothering other people) and adding Voice Search (which is apparently pretty cool). It's come to a bunch of customers in the US but there's not much more in terms of information about it, probably because it's rather basic. There seems to be some concern about Voice Search becoming available in the UK – apparently it has a problem with our accent! This may delay or alter the UK release.
If you do not want to wait for the push from T-Mobile, there's a trick to allow you to force the G1 to check for updates, courtesy of a poster on the Android Talk forums. You'll need Anycut installed from the Market. Now long-press in a blank space on your screen, and choose Shortcut / Anycut / Activity / Device info. When you tap this shortcut, it'll take you to a screen with a range of interesting system information. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and there's a button to check for updates. If you click it and it just says "CHECKIN_SUCCESS", there's no update yet.
Coming Update – Cupcake
There is a major update, or series of updates, coming in the first quarter of 2009 for the G1 and other Android phones. It comes from the development branch called Cupcake, and will include a number of fixes and improvements and add a lot of features to your phone. It should download straight to your G1 over the air and update easily.
The official Google position is still that it's ready when it's ready, but it is targeted for the first quarter of 2009. We do know that a very early version was released to application developers around the 16th of January, and that T-Mobile have taken note of the flood of emails and calls about the issue and are trying to push this forward as fast as possible from their end.
Some predicted features for this update are:
* Option to save pictures and attachments from text messages * Ability to copy and paste text in the browser * Search-within-text for the browser * Improved video support – video recording, better playback and thumbnails * Stereo bluetooth support * Onscreen keyboard, so you can type on the screen rather than having to slide the keyboard open * A reduction in battery drain, mainly through more efficient use of processing power. * Latitude, a geo-aware contact system
The soft keyboard is one of the most eagerly-awaited features of Cupcake – the ability to enter text via an onscreen keyboard, without having to open the slide on the G1. This feature is now provided by a third party application – dotphone.org's Softkeyboard, available in the Market now. I'll give more details and some information how to use it (the functionality is not immediately obvious) in my second article on Applications.
Features: What works, what does not, and how to fix it
Headsets
Bluetooth headsets seem to work fine on the whole, but the device does not yet support stereo over bluetooth, so any audio playback will be mono sound only. This will be fixed with the Cupcake update.
The wired headset that comes with the G1 gives good sound quality, but the limit of the phone is that it does not have a regular headphone / earphone socket, so for the wired accessories you have to buy those that are specifically designed to be compatible with the phone.
However, in the US the G1 now ships with an adapter which allows you to plug in a regular 3.5mm headset. This is not yet the case in the UK, but T-Mobile have told me that if they receive enough feedback they make well change this policy and even ship out adapters to existing customers. If you are a UK G1 customer, go to T-Mobile's Contact Us page, scroll down to "send us an email" and fill in the form to let T-Mobile know their customers want this accessory!
I got a response to my own form, telling me that T-Mobile has no plans to make this change in the UK. That basically means that they have not had enough complaint emails / calls to make this an issue – let's get on this, people!
File Transfer
As yet, disappointingly, Android does not support file transfer between the phone and your computer by Bluetooth. This should be added with the Cupcake update in mid-January. Because this feature is actually missing from the underlying structure of the operating system, it's almost impossible for anyone else to add it (through a downloaded application for example) until the update.
File transfer over the USB cable works fine, although the method has changed from the Quick Start guide that comes with the phone, which has confused some people (me included). When you plug the USB cable in, a prompt will come up on the G1's notifications area (the pulldown at the top of the screen), saying "USB Connected – select to copy files to / from your computer". Tap the message, and when the next box pops up on screen select "Mount". After that, your computer will see the G1's SD card as an external drive, just like a flash drive.
Everything the phone has stored on your SD card is organized pretty clear, and your digital photos are under the folder called "dcim". You can copy your music, photos etc. into any folder and the G1's software should find them.
Synchronizing With Your Applications
The G1 is designed to synchronize seamlessly and continuously with Google's own solutions for calendar, contacts, email, etc. There are there are unknowingly to be direct solutions from Google to sync your G1 with your Windows, Linux or Mac desktop over Bluetooth or a cable.
However, there are a number of ways to sync Google's online services with your desktop, giving a two-stage solution. I'm not going to go into them here because I feel they're outside the scope of this article, but they're well documented on Google's own help pages and on the web.
Using Your G1 As a Modem ("Tethering")
Hooking up your G1 to a laptop or desktop computer, so the machine can access the phone's internet connection: Again, this is not yet directly supported by the operating system. However, there is a workaround which will let you do it, as long as you do not mind tweaking a few settings. "Tetherbot" by Graham – a guide to tethering your G1 as a USB modem. Note: The easiest way to point Firefox to the proxy is to install the Foxyproxy plugin.
It's still experimental and tricky, but now it's been proved possible, someone will no doubt make a friendlier easy-to-use solution very soon. When there is one, I'll post it here right away.
June Fabrics are in the early stages of developing a tethering solution for Android phones, and an Android version of WMWifiRouter is also in development. Both will be commercial (but affordable) solutions to the problem, and (if they work like both companies' previous releases) will effectively turn your G1 into a wifi hotspot without needing any other software installed, making them compatible with any desktop operating system.
Audio Playback and Recording
At the moment Android can play audio in the following formats: AAC, AAC, AMR-NB, MIDI, MP3, Ogg, WMA and WMV. Playback is pretty good and stable in my experience. See my next post on applications for more information. Other formats may be added with future operating system updates, or new applications may expand that list.
The G1 can record audio, and a few applications already use the functionality.
Video Playback and Recording, and Flash
Right now the Android only supports video in MP4 format and from YouTube (not through the browser but through dedicated programs, which are actually grabbing MP4 versions of the YouTube videos), and it has to be in quite a restricted format. You can use any video converter compatible with Android – Videora is very good.
Other video formats will probably have to wait for an operating system update, although someone may figure out a way to add formats with an application. Flash support is said to be coming very shortly, with Adobe promising that they are working closely with the Android team. We might even have Flash in January. When it comes out, I'll let you know!
Although Android does not yet officially support video recording, a third party application does now provide this feature. This is exactly why an open source phone is an exciting proposition – the potential for unofficial third party projects to fill the gaps in the available functions!
Dotphone.org's Video Recorder / Video Camera, now available from the market, provides recording of video to the SD card and playback with some efficiency. It's still in beta and a little flaky, but works pretty well for me – although it will drain the battery in minutes.
The Battery
The big failing of the G1 is battery life. Between the big screen, multiple wireless connections and heavy processor use from the constantly running background applications, the installed 1150mAh battery does not last long.
Current word from T-Mobile is that they have no plans to release an improved battery for the G1 in the UK. Some G1 users in the US have been shipped replacement batteries – an internal memo has apparently instructed their helpline advisers to do so in response to complaints – which increase battery life by 22% without increasing the size of the phone.
If you are a UK G1 owner, I recommend going to T-Mobile's Contact Us page, scrolling down to "send us an email" and filling in the form to let T-Mobile know their customers want this service. With sufficient users pitching in, we can demand a better device for our money.
Managing your wireless features can help. The Power Manager application from the Market allows you to control bluetooth, wifi, GPS and cell location in one screen, and flip from 3G to 2G, all of which extend the charge on the battery.
The big drain is the 3G – the G1 wastes a lot of power searchingfor a 3G connection when one is not available (hopefully this will be improved with the Cupcake release). I'd suggest turning it off when you're not actually browsing / downloading – your email etc. will still sync just fine, and if you get notified that, for example, a podcast is downloading in Podweasel, you can flip it on. This added almost 50% to my battery life immediately.
Many users can also improve things by calibrating the G1's Lithium Ion battery. It turns out that Li Ion batteries have internal electronics that keep track of their charge level, but sometimes need calibrating, and the G1's battery often does not ship ready-calibrated.
To calibrate your battery, let the G1 run all the way down, past the warning messages about low battery charge, until it turns itself off. You may need to turn it on again a couple of times – keep going until it will not power up at all. Then recharge to full and leave on charge for at least a couple more hours. You should find a significant improvement in battery life. This may need repeating every month or two, but do not do it too often as fully cycling the battery causes extra wear (mostly due to heat).
The Camera
The G1 is fitted with a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, although unfortunately it does not have a flash. The onboard camera application is currently pretty limited, although it is predicted to improve with the Cupcake update. A much better camera app is SnapPhoto, available from the Android Market – see my next article on applications for more information.

found on music players, computers and most other electronic devices with audio outputs.

TIPS
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Omaha NE:
● Set up a smart system (don’t use twelve 15-inch subwoofers and a pair of tweeters)
● Proper system settings (don’t set input sensitivity by ear.
COST
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Omaha NE: One thing is that parts will need to be bought and some work will be done on the car.

However, if I were able, I would take off half a star regarding their driver. They say to download and install a driver for use with Bluetooth headsets. I did that and had a lot of trouble and ended up removing the driver. I then contacted the supplier and they quickly responded that for Windows 10, it is plug-and-play. That is very good. However they should have indicated that up front and saved me the time and frustration. But, so far, very happy with the...
