Question: If abolishing intellectual property laws would only strengthen companies abilities to exploit poor artists, why are these same companies constantly lobbying to make IP laws stronger and stricter?
Like do you honestly, legitimately, unironically believe that Disney has spent decades and millions of dollars lobbying for something that protects US from THEM?
Also it's funny how your tags try to paint anyone in support of copyright abolition as an entitled consumer who just wants to be able to freely pirate poor artists' hard work free of consequence when every single copyright abolitionist I've met in my life is some sort of artist who has come to the conclussion that the restrictions that copyright law imposes on them in terms of what they can and can't use in their art outweigh the supposed "benefits" of being protected by it (which generally exist only on paper unless you're already wealthy).
#for every case of a small artist effectively using IP laws to protecttheir creatiom from being stolen by a big company#there are hundreds of cases of a big company using IP laws to wall off a property from the artist that created it#and make sure the artist can never use their own creatuon ever again#case in point: the recent debacle with Disco Elysium#because turns out#even if IP laws NOMINALLY protects small artists like you and me#in the real world actually acessing that protection involves litgation costs that we straight up can't afford#so the people who ACTUALLY need protection don't have the resources to access it#and the ppl who have the resources to access it are the big companies who don't need it#speaking as an indie artist (musician/ttrpg writer) the possibility to use any character or property i want to use in my art#without fear of being sued to hell and back by 5 different companies#is 100% worth the loss of a nominal amount of ''protection'' that I'm too poor to actually materially benefit from anyway

also my phone died at the dmv so i had way too much time to think, and
if i were to like. put together a discord server of amateur/wanna-be podcasters, to like, share resources, brainstorm ideas, motivate each other/have workshops together, possibly find cast & crew amongst other amateurs, etc etc
would that be like....... something ppl would be interested in?
bcos yeah there's like five billion blog posts out there about 'how to start a podcast!!' but those can be intimidating and filtering out what works for you is hard, so having other ppl sharing resources that worked for them can help narrow things down a bit
and i know there's networking amongst ppl who are already podcasting professionals (mostly on twitter), but there is... less for ppl who are just getting started? and don't get me wrong, many podcast pros are very friendly and helpful to ppl just starting out! but if you're, say, looking for amateurs like you to volunteer & practice making podcasts so that you also can volunteer & practice making podcasts, talking to pros is not... the most helpful, necessarily? bcos they're onto like, the stage where they can pay their actors and create podcast companies, so they have more advanced advice than newbies would need.
.......and also i and other ppl have talked a lot abt things like accessibility and representation in podcasts, and some pros have talked abt it too, but they have like, A Platform and can present resources and advice on their platform, whereas a lot of us are just. on personal blogs. so perhaps those personal blogs could consolidate some of that stuff into like Resource & Advice For Sharing With Podcasters.
i mean like, i'm currently in a discord server for a group volunteer-run amateur podcast, and that's been great! they do writing workshops, share 'how to do this thing' stuff, find cast & crew for episodes amongst the people in the server, it's great for ppl who are beginners and want to do like one episode of one podcast!
but also would ppl be interested in like... a bigger version of that? kind of a loose network of creators for different podcasts & potential podcasts, rather than all doing one cohesive thing together?
i mean, ideal world & a lot of growth, ppl who join as beginners would be able to grow and move past the beginner stage and maybe become the sorts of ppl who make money & can pay actors, and who have podcast companies, and who have a Platform For Resources, and all that other good stuff. but also ideally if it did grow that much, new beginners could join and learn and work together, while also having resources from the older group.............. but that's like. a big if and far in the future.
........anyway. like i said i had too much time to think, and i may just be creating projects for myself bcos i'm bored, and also i say i'd make a server but can i even run a server? we'll see. but would this in fact be a thing ppl might be into? maybe? hm.
#long post#been thinking abt something like this since the anon with misophonia gave advice on how podcasters should approach warning for things#bcos i am just! a small blog! it's not like i have REACH#and i also am not in a position to influence professionals?#but giving those resources to newbies just starting out might... be a start anyway#.........also also i wanna do audio editing. wanna practice with some other amateurs. and i'm SURE there are other ppl who feel the same#about audio editing or directing or producing or writing or acting#ppl who want to make a podcast but don't want to do every bit of it themselves#but asking pros or going on casting call club is so damn intimidating!#so like. smaller community of amateurs perhaps.#(also if anyone is wondering what podcast i'm doing with the many ppl in the server: it's for the record pod#they're a tma fan podcast they do one-off statement episodes they're always looking for volunteers i'll put u in touch etc#but like. for ppl who may want to make their own podcast or work on a podcast that is not that. a broader network perhaps????)

like yeah. jeff bezos is worst of the worst and so are his ilk, and literally none of it matters if they arent stopped wholescale from ruining the planet and killing everyone in the process, but some of the ""leftists"" on here legit talk as if classism isn't a whole separate thing from capitalism on its own. as if it hasnt always existed whether or not capitalism exists--and not to be cynical, but probably always will still exist.
and i know why lmao its because anybody who isnt a ceo of a company wants to point fingers so they can avoid the accountability for their own privilege. but like. you are capable of upholding capitalism and clasissm. i dont care if you hate 9-5 work culture and are always exhausted and want to start a revolution, because if you arent poor, guess what? you have class privilege. it doesnt make capitalism suck less for you, but--here is the main thing--you are not the target.
like even as a poor person myself, i have immense privilege compared to others. my whiteness (a class in itself, post-colonialism) gives me access to resources and class mobility that poor poc simply do not have. being a white american means that even in a worst case scenario, i will not be among the first groups suffering from the planet wide environmental and community devastation--that's black and brown ppl in the global south. i am lucky enough to have a house, and to usually have food, which immediately puts me financially ahead of a significant portion of poor ppl in my own community.
and some ppl on this website who are upper middle and upper class assholes will not even fucking acknowledge that classism as an oppression systems exists regardless of capitalism, and that they have a hand in it.
well, guess what--if you don't acknowledge it, there is no way any of the real big targets and perpetrators of climate change and capitalistic oppression are ever going to be stopped. if you dont have actually solidarity and keep leveraging ur own ability to uphold the system against ppl with less privilege than you.
#my post#i am just angry rn#like istg some of u just seem to genuinely not understand capitalism is a class based system of oppression

So, had a little time to calm down (a very little bit) and while I still stand by what I’ve said here I want to clarify:
I do not think that staff is completely naive, stupid, or by any stretch evil. I just believe they made a bad call on how to handle the demands. I also seriously believe that they care a hell of a lot more about us than Apple does. Thus my saying there need to be limits and not to bully them.
And I also believe that, as long as we’re reasonable and remotely civil, then what we say is ammunition for them to take to Apple. Especially those of us who are talking about how Apple is potentially making the app, and by extension site, less safe and less “family friendly” in the long run as opposed to the intention. Ultimately, Apple doesn’t specialize in social media, and especially not this sort of social media. Their job is not to care about Tumblr users. People have talked about Twitter, Reddit and Facebook and such. They have the money and/or influence to cause a stir. The internet would blow up if you weren’t allowed to access a popular subreddit or if you couldn’t post about your dog on Facebook. It isn’t Apple’s job to know how this site works. There’s every chance in the world that Apple doesn’t even realize everything they flagged. Last time I saw the list is now over 400 tags, and some are very obviously adult tags (porn comes to mind) that are banned less aggressively than ones that are helpful to people. Suicide Prevention, something that society basically agrees that everyone should support, is a hard banned tag. And because Tumblr is smaller, there’s a non-zero chance that since they’re talking and not making a dramatic stand, that Apple isn’t taking them very seriously.
It’s also important that you don’t bully or harass Apple either. Strongly worded but civil angry letter? Sure. Boycott? Absolutely go for it. But just trashing them isn’t gonna help.
I would also recommend that if you have other social media, make sure you read the staff statement (https://wip.tumblr.com/post/671184848292118528/an-update-on-the-tumblr-ios-app) before you comment on it and do so in ways that draw attention and add to the discussion rather than just complaining about Apple. “OMG, Apple sucks so bad” draws attention from individuals, but “OMG, what was Apple thinking, ppl use tags to avoid harmful content too” or “OMG, Apple why are you making it harder to access information about suicide prevention?” will actually tell them why what they’re doing is wrong, and make it so that they can’t just say that people have always and will always hate them, even in an “we can’t make everyone happy and we’ll always get hate mail that we don’t have resources to address” way. If you specifically call attention to the situation that they can address and do it in a way where they can interact and prevent damage to their brand, then they have more incentive to do so. No company wants to be the bad guy. Companies put money and effort into cultivating their image. That is why I believe Tumblr starting the drama of leaving because of potentially harmful overreach (like Epic) would have drawn more attention to the situation and given them more power at the table.
In summary: Talk to staff and about the ban. Don’t go after them. They made a mistake in how they executed this, but are not the big issue. They want to work with us, so don’t attack them. Focus on Apple’s role if you take this to other sites. The opinion of Tumblr on the internet at large makes it more likely that people will write it off, and possibly even lower their opinion of the site further. While if you talk about it as Apple oversite, people who know about other times Apple has meddled with things (such as the hoops you have to jump through if you want to view adult content as an adult on Discord servers) will be more likely to see this as a larger issue.
not to be overly serious (lol) but if you're mad about these stupid new ""safe mode"" changes on tumblr's iOS app you need to be directing your energy towards apple because, realistically speaking, there is literally nothing tumblr staff can do about this lol. they've either gotta follow apple's rules or get their app removed from the app store.
but also this is just part of a way bigger and longstanding issue with apple's walled-garden approach to software where you can only get shit that meets their very specific standards and doesn't compete with their own proprietary apps AND if users make an in-app transaction apple gets like, a 30% cut or something insane. this is why epic games had that whole thing where they took fortnite off the app store in protest (and which iirc is still part of a big pending legal case that'll have some serious precedent based on its outcome.....?) so like. this is actually just one tiny battle being waged in a full-scale war of online content and access and censorship and yelling at a bunch of ragtag mobile devs on tumblr's staff will fix exactly nothing, I promise. so go complain about it to apple!!!!

Allocation of personnel in states by mayor or state senator decisions per counties would lead to greater success of independent companies than letting ppl pick their jobs.. But we all have free will and roles have different criterias to meet which is why I've never felt the need to start a company. Ppl don't wanna do anything and my criterias are too big to be filled by normal ppl that just want to get by. It is true for nearly all states in the U.S. and only the big cities like New York and LA have the talent or resources to push good ideas forward. In my data administrator role for home loans I saw a 95 percent failure rate to complete home purchases in all of chicago and the reason for that isn't that there isn't creativity... It's that ppl aren't given the right tools or taught the sciences to build different things. If government were to step in and say hey boy here build me this, and they say but I only know how to do this... Or I should just go work at best buy and pretend I care about the job I'm doing there... Is the reason that society is so messed up. Instead of learning to use tools, they choose to sell objects that are made by ppl who make the tools. If I am here giving curator app ideas that continue to make apple successful, bc I studied art, computers, and psychology then ppl will not learn to make or use tools. And along with that apple will also not help ppl that do learn to use the tools bc it would hurt them, but in Australia the right to repair laws say that apple has no choice but to service a third party serviced phone. In Signapore returns are handled by third parties and that should not be the case. Ppl outside of Apple Store cities should have rights to tools even just temporary access if their devices break so that they learn that there is something better to do than working at best buy or some retail store and that it is only the initial product batches you need to produce to move forward to a higher role in your corporation. Funding retail stores just consumes resources and doesn't lead to growth. Amazon for example had to build it's own delivery fleet and takes a 15 percent cut off everyone's sales. If society continues to consume instead of create the prices of everything will go up higher and higher every decade as is seen in the GPU market and that is just by import taxes and nobody is claiming them on their tax returns bc it's added to the OEM sales price on carts instead of shipping and handling.

ANTAGONISTS ARE HARD
I totally had plans to type shit out last night and now that I'm awake I can't remember half of if But yes, antagonists, especially the type I'm trying NOT to like, are such a PAIN. I'm so impressed by characters I wanna just. Push off a cliff when I play games or watch shows but ohhh is it so hard for me to create one for some reason BUT ANYWAYS IM TRYING here's a few Sort of Also I'm on mobile and can't do a read more I am So Sorry OTIOSE: Crocoite. I don't know if she's in the "god I hate her" category, but she is definitely unpleasant to work with. A nasty extortionist who mostly just wants your Money and your Things. She's also an usem hunter and escort (and Business owner?).Theres rumors that some of the people her group guides never make it to their destination (and croc suddenly has interesting new stuff to sell). She's a Genuine Designer, but she doesn't like or trust other Designers..most of them are rich and snotty, but not her!! She was saved up for, a very expensive baby right there. The zone she grew up in was a very tense one; some areas in the US at this point are a bit..militarized. So. But of a rough baby life there, to partially explain her callousness (and distaste for the rich/corporate entities/military that Own Everything). She has a main pack she does everything with, the most notable being two army grade Mods (tentatively nicknamed Castor and Pollux) Unnamed Corporation That's right, there's a fucking. Weyland-Yutani Umbrella Corp type corporation at play in this world!!!! They own. Goddamn. Everything. Genetic labs, prisons, company housing, bioengineering research facilities, military grade AI, Moderator Development Facilities....... put those last two together and you have about 2/3rds of the entire military right there, btw. Soooo much shit is their brand. Your implants, your prosthetics, your fuckin. Socks, probably. This is the corporation Ben n Tonks's parents work for! And the one that, when two worried kids of their employees are like "hi our parents haven't contacted us in a month, what's up?" give them one of those suspicious bullshit automated replies. Begin story There ARCHIVES Corrupt Archive Leaders? This is less Corporate Evil and more of..an unfortunate power imbalance that resulted from events out of their control. So like..The big problem in archives is that MANY MANY people were yanked from their homes, and plonked onto an alien planet that only had readily available accommodations for a Fraction of the population. The key word here is Alien: there are no domesticated animals, no crops that have been carefully altered through human intervention for a millennia, they are essentially having to start from scratch in many cases. People don't even have Dogs anymore!! For gods sake!! Compare that to the archives themselves! A colony..city..thing. Lovely place, very efficient on energy and materials, nice cozy places for ppl to live, etc etc. But..this was developed..slowly..over time..they don't have Mass Access to resources to allow them to EXPAND as quickly as a sudden giant influx in an uprooted population would like them to. SO...THAT WHOLE SITUATION JUST KINDA..EVOLVED! People outside the archives have to restart with what little help they can get, and people inside continue on with their (now a little more crowded) but pleasant accommodations. It starts out very helpful!! Very "for the good of all humanity, we must do our best 2 come together and provide for eachother!!" But good things never last, do they Current day archives is a good way into the future. Archives expand, but at the same time get a bit Stingy with their resources.. People outside have started to spread out and settle, but it's still very rough. There's no shops where you can just go out and buy whatever you need (well. Maybe in very limited supply from the archives you can get some things), there's plenty of conflict. Enough that people decide HEY!!! WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE HOOLIGANS!!!! ARCHIVES HELP US OUT HERE So they decide to ship them off to Euphrates (the grafter planet), to a modified facility they have there!! It's more immediate than spending forever trying to build a prison or sending every one of these people to a therapist/giving them the Stuff they actually Need. SO JUST THROW EM ON THE NEXT PLANET OVER, SOUNDS GOOD! Give that like a decade or two as things settle even more and then you get people sending people off for, very questionable reasons. Especially people that make offenses against anyone in The Archives, who have Control of all the Good Shit. Also, I heard they don't even drop them at the facility anymore..I've heard that they just pick a spot and leave em there.....do u think it's true??? Badahdaaaaah.......Conflict. Glib Glib is another scientist on Euphrates. She helped discover plenty of things, especially about the "fungus"! But. Not usually in the most eeeuuhhh ethical, ways. -Probably a fair amount of Euphrates residents that are legitimately terrifying people and not just soft babies unlucky enough to have been born there -Definitely a bunch of folks in the archives, like the ones that send Too Nosy Journalists off to the Hell Planet That's it that's all I've somewhat Solidly got, I'm working on some revenants stuff tho so We'll See what happens there

Because staying a victim and hiding behind the block button is way more important than actually TRYING TO UPLIFT YOURSELF. i’M GOING TO THIS AGAIN.
@elfyourmother
Read the shit out of this. And then read it again. He goes a lot deeper than hair.
sourcedumal
I love this article. He truly goes in. And if course white folks are telling him “make your own then” like he has fucking access to all that shit that major companies have…
How about gaming companies actually start programs in black and Latino communities so we can get more of us in?
But that would be too much like right…
@elfyourmother
the truly hysterical thing is that he actually gets into the whole “make your own” argument in the actual essay. they just don’t want to hear him.
bunabi
mmmhm they really honestly dont wanna hear him
@elfyourmother
#ppl that say that also overlook the fact that white developers want to hire their friends aka people that look and think like them#networking is huge with breaking into the industry and they dont wanna sit with someone ‘militant’ or ‘difficult’ or ‘controversial’#its not even a secret#white developers hold the power and maintain the status quo and defend it readily#yet the handful of non-white staff is supposed to change their minds#lmao
bunabi
I’m sayin tho.
Non-white artists/developers/programmers/designers have a hard enough time getting hired but can also risk their jobs by making waves and being confrontational.
This aint some cute fantasy land where your coworkers suddenly learn a life lesson after bringing you on. They hire you because you’re a good fit and hit it off with them. Talent factors in, but they do care if you’re a team player. And if you’re not, it can get around and will absolutely affect future opportunities, if not completely sever some valuable connections and resources.
It’s not a damn game out here ! honestly !
@elfyourmother
real talk. and like, a lot of industries are like that. it’s not necessarily just a video game thing. ain’t a poc working in corporate america who hasn’t had to navigate this shit on some level or another
it’s just that much more pronounced in creative fields in general. major content producers whether the medium is video games, comics, movies, whatever generally don’t want to take risks, they want to go with what’s safe, they don’t want to rock the boat too much. and being a team player means keeping your head down and doing what you’re told and not challenging shit too hard. you don’t want to be labelled a “troublemaker” or “difficult”. look at that fuckery that went down on Project Greenlight with even the mildest most common sense pushback.
bagged-a-bazooka Deactivated
>Kotaku
Also, did this guy seem to ignore the games that do feature black leads and black stories? Shadowman, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Arguably one of the best black American narratives in video games imo), Minerva’s Den, two characters from The Walking Dead, etc etc etc
And yeah, the “Make your own” is fiesable; considering we’ve had a large surge of indie games made by small teams (Even one person) such as Hotline Miami, Undertale, Shovel Knight, Binding of Isaac. There’s literally no excuse and the argument of “Oh, I CAN’T make my own character because the MAN is keeping me down!” is such fucking baloney
There is literally nothing stopping you from making your own game except yourself
eidolous Deactivated
This essay is excerpted from The State of Play, an upcoming collection of writing on video game culture that comes out on October 20.]
< MY BLACK ASS
god give me strength!!!
What part of being black is suppose to be easy? Oh WE can talk about about how great “WE ARE” until WE gotta put in some work. Then you give up with out even trying and call it a mic drop? I don’t want to win the argument that my dreams are impossible because I’m black.
Every other comment is we can’t do it, we can never do, it will never done.
I’ve never in my life seen my beautiful brilliant young black kids with so much energy to speak their minds at the same time sound so defeated. Where did the attitude go? Yea I know everyone’s gonna find that attitude in order to drag and call me out but not to put your muscle in your hustle.
IF you don’t want just a job all your life you have to hustle and BECAUSE WE ARE BLACK WE HAVE TO HUSTLE HARDER!! When has waiting for shit to go our way ever work out for us? Do you see people waiting for change or marching in the street for it.
@bagged-a- a-bazooka has a point. fuck the big guys. Indie projects can still look and play big even on a budget. build a team and make it your own. look up black crowdfunding* build your portfolio * do small jobs * hunt for grants and inventors
Fuck this just screaming for representation. Stop being afraid to represent yourselves. DON’T YOU BELIEVE YOU MATTER? Do you think I’m just say this shit for me?
Personally I don’t believe there’s anyone fit to tell my story but me. But seeing everyone so quick to say we can makes me so mad at myself for taking too long with my own work. I will not prove them right when that say it can’t do done. My entire life was I can’t do it, stop dreaming, be realistic. I even found my self dating my biggest hatter. NO MORE OF THAT
I’m too far into my young life to turn back and give up. I know we have an uphill battle. I know the uphill is as tall as a sky crapper. but I would sooner fall from the struggle then rot in a dead end life because I was too much of a pussy to stand up for my dream.
bluez-cluuz
Black crowdfund with black twitter to make your black game everyone!
lastsonlost
Hay it’s worth a try if you want it bad enough. Just saying.
the good @reasonandempathy
the truly hysterical thing is that he actually gets into the whole “make your own” argument in the actual essay. they just don’t want to hear him.
No. He didn’t. He really, really didn’t.
He referenced the argument. Then he said “Louis C.K. destroyed this by reminding everyone slavery wasn’t that long ago.” followed by “institutional racism is a thing”.
Nevermind the fact that the most beloved new IPs come from indie developers working on their first (few) games.
Stardew Valley, Enter the Gungeon, Darkest Dungeon, Oxenfree, Aragami, Pony Island, Seasons After Fall, Diluvion, Deadbolt, Necropolis all came out in 2016 alone. Nevermind how many huge IPs were created by Indie developers the past few years (CD Projekt Red as an example).
Shovel Knight, Banner Saga, Minecraft…the list of massive indie hits over the past few years is extensive. Even Zoe Quinn has made an indie game alone.
This is the period of time in which “make your own” is more valid than at any point in history. The video game market is going to reach $110b next year. Mobile gaming is going to hit $29b, which is dominated by indie games (and reskins of indie games).
Make your own things. It’s easier to do now than ever before and you can get rich doing it, too. Sounds like a win-win-win.
Unless you’re just not really interested.
lastsonlost
That’s all I was trying say. JUST GET OUT THERE AND TRY. You can legitimately get ahold of game developing tools on the cheap.
I can understand it scared to take a chance but regretting the chance you didn’t take it’s worse.
but it must be easier to hide behind the block button.

going over my cell bio notes i wanna share another anecdote from my bio classes this year. on the last class our professor wrote up a bunch of conspiracy theories/general questions ppl have abt cancer on the board. for sake of being interesting I’ll just talk abt the conspiracy theory: ‘Do pharmaceutical companies have a cure for cancer and are ‘holding out’ on us?’
I might spruce this up by the time I actually get to scribing my cancer notes but basically the answer we got, after she got us to fill out like a dozen different ways cancer can be caused either by a mutation in proper gene function which results in the cell becoming cancerous (ie it divides indefinitely and forms a big mass of weirdo cells) was -
Cancer is not one disease! Experiences are all different depending on what tissues it is; it’s a different disease for everyone basically. So how can we have a general cure for everyone and every disease?
So that’s a good thing to tell people who are worried about that kind of thing. There are SO MANY THINGS that can go wrong in cell function which makes cells cancerous, and while we’re trying to fix those things we primarily ‘cure’ cancer now by killing cancerous cells - which brings us to the next point of how will we have a method to target cancerous cell and not kill the other cells?
And the answer to that is I think we don’t really? either thru radiation on one part of the body that has cancer we’re attempting to destroy cancer cells but healthy cells are affected. in chemotherapy i know there’s one chemical we use which inhibits cell replication by fucking with telomerase & other molecules involved in cell replication with the understanding that cancer cells way fucking more than regular cells - but so do the cells of our stomach lining so that’s why ppl using that drug in chemotherapy suffer in that specific way - the stomach lining cells are casualties. a friend of mine did her presentation topic on delivering drugs to cancerous tissues by putting the drugs into liposomes (little blobs of fat with a watery center) which theoretically bob around in our bloodstream harmlessly until they get to blood vessels in cancerous tissue which are ‘leakier’ (wrt tight junctions b/w cells, if im not mistaken) and where the liposomes leak out of the blood vessel and delivery the drug directly to the tissue. so like. scientists are working hard in every possible way to try to improve cancer treatment in very interesting ways? and my professor’s mother has dealt with and died from cancer and i’m just?
i don’t think my teacher was posing the question to straight out debunk misconceptions like my eco proff had been but all the same. it’s just frustrating when people fixate on the weirdest things to distrust abt the pharmaceutical industry. there are things to distrust (!!!!!) but charlatans are ready and waiting to profit by misleading you. automatically distrusting the science is not helpful, but I don’t think automatically trusting science is the answer either. sometimes scientists, bc we’re human, really want ppl to understand that we’ve put in the work and while none of what we’re doing is shit you couldn’t do if you were given an education for it I think an attitude some ppl have towards ‘ppl should trust the authority of scientists’ is bad shit since that’s exactly what we, as future scientists, are taught not to do. like we’re taught to question shit and make sure things make sense for ourselves, and to acknowledge when shit doesn’t make sense but it works (and then work on figuring out why it works)
like there are resources online to help explain shit and while much of it is locked behind paywalls that doesn’t change the fact that work is occurring and some of it is accessible. so honestly, given how much of science is inaccessible to ppl I don’t blame them for being distrustful esp w/ a political and media system which doesn’t respect science unless they can make a profit from it but please don’t buy from people who make a profit from encouraging people to be paranoid of scientists! don’t buy their books or jewelry or give them any money at all!! those are my feelings! u can believe whatever u want but like!!! PLEASE DON’T LET PEOPLE MAKE A PROFIT FROM U.
anyhow, another cool question she posed was “Can I genotype you and predict whether you will get cancer?” and the answer was is that some genes can predict you having a disposition for cancer (e.g. BRCA) but they’re not a promise!
#misha speaks#uni life#its just like... ppl are so fuckin weird abt fluoride while in the meantime the government actively screws over ppl by limiting their access#to drinking water via fracking & situations like flint michigan#conspiracy theories honestly do nothing but distract from legit horrible bad situations but like honestly!! as long as ur not buying ppl#who make money off of promoting conspiracy theories' books or bracelets or essential oils or magazines then its fine.. i just rlly hate ppl#who take advantage of how science is so restricted from the vast vast majority of the world to make money...... anyway... read for some#cancer facts + incoherent grumblins abt conspiracy theories..#cancer cw //#ill probs add some more facts abt cancer once i rewrite my cancer note#s

Affiliate Marketing And Advertising: What It Is, How It Works And What Steps To Get?
Affiliate advertising is a branch of marketing and advertising applied to the web that makes it possible for homeowners or managers of web sites to make funds online by web hosting advertisements and other activities on their domain. A basic technique in the organization ready to give revenue with least and danger-free of charge economic investments.
The affiliation program, requires the interaction between 3 subjects: the advertiser , that is, the advertiser who owns an economic action on the web the publisher , operator or proprietor of an internet website, website or e-newsletter in which the ad will be inserted the affiliation community , that is to say the technique that will manage the intermediation between the two functions involved in the transactions.
How affiliate advertising and marketing works?
To commence earning income on the internet with affiliations, you should very first be owner and have accessibility to a world wide web place these kinds of as a site or a blog . It is on that space that the operator will be ready to insert the advertisements of the advertiser with whom he will have signed an arrangement based mostly on proportion commissions based mostly on the actual transaction executed. Agreements and economic transactions are usually managed by the affiliation networks , which let organizations to build an agreement of mutual cooperation with out them getting to consider an curiosity in the strictly bureaucratic portion. The only technological job for the publisher will turn into at this position the insertion of the insertion code inside their personal web area. Listings that can be represented in the sort of promoting banners, pop-up windows or kinds to be filled out by the person.
How do you make with affiliate advertising and marketing?
The fee distribution models, on a percentage basis, are mostly four and all attributable to the steps that every single person will execute on the publisher's web site:
● PPS (Shell out for each Sale) - The publisher will get a commission if the sale is profitable soon after the person has arrived on the advertiser's internet site via the advert, an selection used primarily by massive e-commerce merchants like Amazon .
● PPC (Shell out per Click) - The advertiser pays the commission each time a user clicks on the ad on the publisher's internet site, an selection comparable to the system that employs Google Adsense to spend these hosting on their internet sites the advertising managed by the most excellent search motor in the planet
● PPL (Spend for every Guide) - It is explained that the advertiser is automatically a retailer of a item. In fact, it might happen that the conversion needed is not essentially of an financial nature. For illustration, an advertiser could intention for a person to subscribe to his newsletter or to the capillary and viral dissemination of a video clip. It is understood that even in this kind of situations, for every single sort of conversion, the advertiser will pay out the fee to the publisher anytime a person performs the asked for motion
● PPV (Pay for each View) - The most straightforward model. In this circumstance the advertiser will spend the commission dependent on the personal visits on the publisher's website . Every time, in quick, that a consumer will see the advert.
In purchase to earn on the web by means of affiliate methods it is essential to know initial that you want to perform on critical figures . In truth, a site with a low customer foundation will barely be in a position to achieve satisfactory final results. The first stage is as a result to identify a field, topic or sector that permits your site to attain a huge viewers. To do this it could be helpful to select an unexplored niche marketer commit oneself to a topic for which you are notably inclined so as to swiftly become a position of reference exactly for that market. Once you have selected the main subject matter of your website, it may be beneficial to publish guidance, online video tutorials or comprehensive explanations to assist net surfers to resolve difficulties or to understand far more.
Dedicating to a particular sector is also particularly important in affiliate marketing and advertising simply because the program is structured on consumer profiling and as a result permits reaching an currently filtered and intrigued viewers audience that will almost certainly be encouraged to deepen listings this kind of as online reductions on a distinct product or the probability of subscribing to a e-newsletter to continue to be up to day on the most current news of their preferred topic.
In purchase to obtain very good outcomes, it is also recommended to get the most out of analytical resources that let you to have a wide see of visitor behavior on your web site. Google Analytics , the method of analysis and monitoring of internet sites presented by the Mountain See net large, is in this feeling the simple instrument of each and every undertaking. Via the data of Analytics related to Research Console it is achievable to know a lot more about the variety of site visitors, reading instances, price of abandonment during reading through, frequency of return of visitors on the website and, over all, on the most searched subject areas and key phrases. by consumers.
Tighten an affiliation settlement
Once you have passed the very first step that permits your site to have a stable or expanding number of visitors, you can pick in between the different options offered in the affiliate advertising and marketing market place. Today, virtually all big e-commerce retailers offer their own affiliate programs. It will be useful then to execute an online search to locate out the companies or techniques that are closest to the first task, bearing in thoughts the percentages paid out for every personal conversion.

How to beat your tech competition with a UX-focus
http://ift.tt/2veZZ0d
Yossi Langer
SAN FRANCISCO — Amazon Alexa’s artificial intelligence is no match for Yossi Langer’s creative 6 year old, who likes to use the device to create ridiculous grocery lists — a la “Alexa, we need ‘slimy bugs’ or ‘poopy bags.'”
Aside from a good chuckle, the device isn’t of much use to Langer, who has been solving user experience design, usability, and human factors problems for mobile and web applications for 15 years. (He conceded that the backend of the app does ask him for clarification on an important matter: “Which type of poop did you want?”)
At Hacker Connect this morning, Langer shared how real estate apps can ensure they hit the mark on practical use and user experience (where Alexa still has some work to do), by avoiding common mistakes and innovating ahead of the curve.
He started with 3 mistakes he sees frequently with real estate apps:
1. Featuring dashboards that no one uses 2. Adding customizations that kill innovation and that consumers don’t want 3. Unusable property search
How to beat your tech competition with a UX-focus
Design-infused organizations win -- human computer interaction expert Yossi Langer explains why READ MORE
Users don’t use dashboards
“Basically every CRM has a big beautiful dashboard,” Langer said.
Everybody starts off this way — they demo great, salespeople love them; they look fantastic, he said.
But the problem is once you have a dashboard, it implies that you have to have a lot of information on that dashboard, including lots of pretty (but impractical) charts — not the one or two numbers you need to do your job.
“It forces you into a lot of decisions you might not otherwise make,” Langer added. “We train [users] to ignore dashboards and train them to ignore our products.”
And we can blame George Lucas for our dashboard obsession.
When everything is the most important thing
Say you make an app to improve apartment rental search, and decide to partner with incumbents — big companies that can expand your reach.
You’ve got a slogan, logo and ability to change the color of the display. The first company says — “that’s great, but there’s no possible way we can use this unless we can add a calendar feature.” And the next one says, “what we really need is a search-by-bath feature, and please move the calendar to the left.”
Another wants their partners faces on the display. So now you’re supporting six different versions of the app.
“All these changes taken together mean you end up with a crazy forked database with lots of different features. Every engineer knows this; every exec knows this: There’s no such thing as a small change,” Langer said.
Each one opens the door to an enormous amount of overhead. Your engineers get a case of Red Bull and stay up 48 hours to meet demand, only to quit and head to Google when customers call in angry about a broken interface anyway.
In summary: “Thoughtless customization kills innovation,” Langer said. Know your product and don’t adhere to a sales-driven culture, and:
Empower your designers to observe and understand your users
Train the sales teams to sell ease-of-use and simplicity
Get comfortable saying “no” nine out of 10 times
Nobody cares about your property search features
All property search sites are essentially the same: You’ve got beds, location and (most prominently) price with listings on a map.
“It’s a solved design problem,” Langer said. “Nobody’s confused by this. Everybody gets it.”
So trying to make consumers enter 14 different fields before you hit the “search” button and calling it innovation is a waste of time and resources. And don’t show consumers the 1,000 properties that fit their criteria. Show them the top five. Let’s not make them do the work, Langer said.
Rather, stick to the basics. Make it as easy as possible to get people into your search results. Focus on price, beds, baths and location accompanied by big pictures. Save the progressive filtering — commute time, walkability, etc. — for the “obsessives and nerds.”
Why do these mistakes happen?
“I have a theory that it happens mostly because if a mismatch between company design maturity and market design needs,” Langer explained.
He laid out 4 stages of design maturity in different markets:
1. Technology-driven market (designers are barely involved)
This is the stage when it’s a miracle that a technology even exists because it’s so new and useful.
Think the cellphones of 1985 — heavy, clunky, slow and terrible UX. “A lot of ppl were willing to pay for access to that,” Langer said, “like Echo when it launched.”
Here’s when a lot of companies go straight to marketing — designing Facebook ads to market their product, for example — Langer said. But they should getting ready for next stage, which is…
2. Feature-driven market
Designers are involved here only after critical decisions are made. Take T9 predictive texting and Snake as add-ons to the first cellphones.
3. Experience-driven market
Designers are collaborating actively during this phase. For example, the iPhone 1 had the best experience, the best way of tying all the features together. But it wasn’t necessarily any more powerful than the Blackberry.
4. Design-infused
In this phase designers are running key decisions and are strategically invested with decision-making power. If you’re in a market like this — like the current iPhone and Android models — having an amazing customer experience is “table stakes, it’s a requirement for succeeding,” Langer said.
How does real estate compare?
Where do today’s real estate technologies fall on the design maturity spectrum? Langer broke it down as follows:
Virtual reality (VR) tours: Technology stage aka “miracle that it even exists” phase. VR will quickly get to feature-driven.
Apply for a mortgage online: Feature-driven stage in which the smartest companies are looking ahead and realizing that it’s about who has the best experience.
CRM: Many companies still think they are on features. Those that break out are winning on a “coherent, consistent, seamless, well-designed, user-focused experience.”
Consumer property search: Same as CRM.
Bottom line is: Design-infused organizations win. It will push you up this curve faster than your competitors. Here’s how you can get there:
1. Think: Who is that dashboard really for? 2. Practice saying ‘no’ to customization requests 3. Don’t get cute with your property search 4. Understand the design maturity of your market 5. Push your company up the curve by hiring and empowering smart designers

more system things lol. fuck. matrix is real
my first true love: boys will be boys and good thing I'm not in that convo cause I know I'm ok with no abortions and cause I'm so against that or funding for that
-Me: but like at least have condoms and birth control easy access. Because then the kids being born to underage parents and/or parents who cannot afford good care for them, they'll grow up in harsh environments because the parents simply cannot get out of the system. All their hard work goes straight to just caring for what they have now. And if they're in school, it's even harder. If they're at work. It's even harder. This has a huge toll on a child's behavior. And that's why inner city schools need to be better. They need to rlly be there and feel like a community for the kid and prepare them for their success because that's what they're lacking at home. And very important for counseling for them. Teaching them about interpersonal and personal skills and negotiating for not just their gain, but their counterpart. We should donate to these kids who can't afford much because of the situation their parents are in. Or else there's a rlly high risk for them to act out in criminal ways. Like selling sex, selling drugs, robberies, gang activity all just to provide for themselves and their family. And they're just going to be jailed. And who suffers? Tax payers. Their families. That's why we need to PREVENT this. But private funded prisons will want to keep it because they want to profit off of the people who simply are not aware. And again. School. Community. Etc. and that creates less STD’s and unwanted pregnancies etc. and that would help hone down those issues. The services wouldn't be used as much because of the programs installed to help prevent that. And yes...all those services, are tax payers! And yes! We are giving them the profits! So instead! Let's do stuff to PREVENT this!
-Him: condoms and birth control and education should be enforced and made easy access because then it prevents unwanted pregnancies and spread of diseases. And most of the time they do grow up in tough situations but education (resources) only do so much and guide, but it's up to the individual to take it and own it and their own responsibilities when it comes to taking the smart way and benefit from that or disregard all of that and go the “alternative” way that media flaunts. Both males and females gotta start being aware of themselves and how they affect things around them and also to stop fucking everything and be smarter about their shit.
-Me: so we should help the inner city/low income kids have better ways to resolve issues. create more businesses within those area for them to get money in a civil way and at least help stay afloat with their family and not have to resort in uncivil ways to get money, in means of getting things to survive. this can also help keep gang activity down too. help keep pimping and prostitution down (STD’s and pregnancy down). drug dealers down. drug use down. honestly it all starts from 1) birth 2) growing up with proper education and good behaviors enforced and community connection
like they need to realize they're in a bad situation and we're born into this but it's not their fault. BUT it's THEY. it is YOU who can provide something better for yourself and your future and your community and the uprising generations. they should realize and be empowered that they can get out of the position they were born into.
that's also where discrimination comes in (being stuck in one area and letting power go to one), and learn to make ppl like them instead of reacting bad when bad happens to them. they need to let ppl see that all they want is a better life for themselves and those around them and not let their hopes and dreams go down because they're the minority and/or the targeted ones and the low income ones. the low educated ones. etc. they need to not act out when they're not being heard and/or given chances. the first chance is the first and last. so always try to make it good. if we installed a rlly strong emphasis on how important education is, self control and proper behavior to not hurt another and not one another, and come together as a community to be taken seriously and be seen as ppl who are rlly just trying to get things to be better for themselves and the community and the future. doing illegal shit will just make a lot of people want to them against them because they doesn't help them nor anyone else around them. but they also don't wanna fix it because they wanna lock those ppl up. and that's private prisons. and obv then the remainder need to go to public prisons and that's so much tax money, which could've went to education to prevent that stuff from happening.
-him: nine of that will stop tho. the system has made it this way and to try to stabilize low income communities with businesses and store fronts 1) no one wants to open a store in a high risk area 2) no one wants to fund a company in that location that's bound to be vandalized
-me: that's where social media and pop culture and selfishness comes into play. priorities are fucked up. they all wanna seem cool and above one another. like yo. you're in section 8. but u wanna stack on j’s? that won't mean shit when you're older? no one will care when you're older about what you had. you're gonna waste on drugs and kill your body slowly? you wanna “flex” and feel better than each other? tryna be like fake ass rappers who give off a fake make believe reality? and you're brainwashed into it? like….stop being brainwashed into thinking that's cool
And yeah, but that's where I think education needs to reform. I am all for education bruh. All for communities coming together to realize their internal issues and going to the root. All for changing their priorities. All for coming together for a better come up for all these shit areas. But yo. Education!!!!!! Like really man. Education. Being aware of the system so it doesn't chew them up and shit them out even worse But. I think if we open businesses there and let them realize. This is for the betterment of the WHOLE community. This isn't just for a profit. This is to offer u more jobs. Offer u a responsibility and a sense of importance. Because let's be honest. All these ppl just want to feel like they're doing something to get attention. And why would they wanna vandalize their own shit that's gonna help them? U know? Like. I think they should learn some ways to build more businesses. Businesses not just for themselves. But for their whole community and for their brothers and sisters all struggling. Like. They also need to stop being selfish and killing other ppl out of like idk. Jealousy? Wanting more money? But they're the ones making it hard for everyone in their community struggle. Ppl who are drug dealers or gang bangers always end up staying in their shit beginnings because as a WHOLE, they're making it harder for themselves. I guess u can say those ppl are the bad 1% of the low incomers lol. They create holes. Make other holes even bigger And how can this be avoided??? Education!!!!!!! Like. It sucks to say. But rn, there's like separate economies (high, middle, low). And they're all equally corrupt and that's why they all can't work well together rn and we're all like burdens to one another lol. But u know what helps ALL of them? Education and better Also. We should have more programs for kids. Let them socialize with kids their age. Have people to look up to as a good role model. Help them with any personal issues. Therefore they won't act out because they know there's help for them. Also it can be good because we can let their parents work while we watch their kids and help them with hw, do arts and crafts, socialize with friends, maybe play instruments, just dance. Be themselves. Let loose. :) "Hendren, along with Harvard economists Katz and Raj Chetty, now at Stanford University, looked at the lasting effects of moving children to better neighborhoods as part of Moving to Opportunity, a short-lived federal housing program from the '90s. Their analysis, published in May, found that the longer children are exposed to better environments, the better they do economically in the future. Whichever city or state children grow up in also radically affects whether they'll move out of poverty, he said"* And what did I say? Trying to improve inner city / low income neighborhoods? Like. They can improve it by themselves if they wanted to. If they're wise enough and more woke. "It's definitely been a strategy" to justify starving government of resources, which in turn weakens it and makes it less attractive as a tool to accomplish big things, said Skocpol. "In an everybody-for-themselves situation, it is the better-educated and the wealthy who can protect themselves."* And that's why we can't rely on the government. We must make the changes ourselves. We must educate ourselves. Educate our communities. Help the children. "I think it is naïve of most individuals to think that for everything there is something that government can legislate and regulate and impose that makes life better for everybody," she said. "That's just not the case."* While it's clear that investing in children and their education pays lifelong dividends for them, those gains take 20 years to be realized, said Katz. That's why it's critical that their parents get help and live in less vulnerable situations.* Of course industry needs to run its businesses productively and profitably, but it can do so without harming "the commons," Rivkin said. "Business has been very effective at pursuing its narrow self-interest in looking for special tax breaks. I think that kind of behavior just needs to stop." Drawing on an idea from Harvard Business School finance Professor Mihir Desai, Rivkin suggests that businesses treat their tax responsibilities as a compliance function rather than as a profit center. That money could then go back into investment in "the commons," where "lots of common ground" exists among business, labor, policymakers, educators and others.* "The businesses should be working with the local community college to train the workers whom they would love to hire; the university should be getting together with policymakers to figure out how to get innovations out of the research lab into startups faster; business should work with educators to reinvent the school system," said Rivkin.* Putnam suggests more widespread mentoring of low-income children who lack the social safety net that upper- and middle-class children enjoy, a topic he explored in "Our Kids."* Adam Smith, perhaps the first true economist, gave some answers in “An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.” That treatise is sometimes thought of as a capitalist bible. It is at least partly about the achieving of greatness through the pursuit of wealth in free markets. But Smith didn’t believe that money alone assured national stature. He also wrote disapprovingly of the single-minded impulse to secure wealth, saying it was “the most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments.” Instead, he emphasized that decent people should seek real achievement — “not only praise, but praiseworthiness.”** Strikingly, national greatness was a central issue in a previous presidential election campaign: Lyndon B. Johnson, in 1964, called for the creation of a Great Society, not merely a rich society or a powerful society. Instead, he spoke of achieving equal opportunity and fulfillment. “The Great Society is a place where every child can find knowledge to enrich his mind and to enlarge his talents,” he said. “It is a place where leisure is a welcome chance to build and reflect, not a feared cause of boredom and restlessness.”** All of which is to say that government intervention to enhance greatness will not be a simple matter. There is a risk that well-meaning change may make matters worse. Protectionist policies and penalties for exporters of jobs may not increase long-term opportunities for Americans who have been left behind. Large-scale reduction of environmental or social regulations or in health care benefits, or in America’s involvement in the wider world may increase our consumption, yet leave all of us with a sense of deeper loss. Greatness reflects not only prosperity, but it is also linked with an atmosphere, a social environment that makes life meaningful. In President Johnson’s words, greatness requires meeting not just “the needs of the body and the demands of commerce but the desire for beauty and the hunger for community.”** The solution to this puzzle is to realize that economic inequality is not just one thing. It consists of some things that are very bad, like kids with no chance of reaching their potential, and others that are good, like Larry Page and Sergey Brin starting the company you use to find things online.*** And while some of the growth in economic inequality we've seen since then has been due to bad behavior of various kinds, there has simultaneously been a huge increase in individuals' ability to create wealth*** (refer back to my English essay about the bad 1% of the 1%. The stealers. The manipulators. Compared to the other .99% of the 1% who actually create stuff, and therefore create wealth in return for their creation) There are lots of things wrong with the US that have economic inequality as a symptom. We should fix those things. In the process we may decrease economic inequality. But we can't start from the symptom and hope to fix the underlying causes. [7]*** Closely related to poverty is lack of social mobility. I've seen this myself: you don't have to grow up rich or even upper middle class to get rich as a startup founder, but few successful founders grew up desperately poor. But again, the problem here is not simply economic inequality. There is an enormous difference in wealth between the household Larry Page grew up in and that of a successful startup founder, but that didn't prevent him from joining their ranks. It's not economic inequality per se that's blocking social mobility, but some specific combination of things that go wrong when kids grow up sufficiently poor.*** One of the most important principles in Silicon Valley is that "you make what you measure." It means that if you pick some number to focus on, it will tend to improve, but that you have to choose the right number, because only the one you choose will improve; another that seems conceptually adjacent might not. For example, if you're a university president and you decide to focus on graduation rates, then you'll improve graduation rates. But only graduation rates, not how much students learn. Students could learn less, if to improve graduation rates you made classes easier. Economic inequality is sufficiently far from identical with the various problems that have it as a symptom that we'll probably only hit whichever of the two we aim at. If we aim at economic inequality, we won't fix these problems. So I say let's aim at the problems.*** If we want to fix the world behind the statistics, we have to understand it, and focus our efforts where they'll do the most good.*** Rather, the focus should be on disrupting the cycle of poverty in which social decay in one generation inhibits the development of the next, individuals ill-prepared for life and work face limited opportunity, and their ensuing struggles cause further social decay.**** Better-educated parents place far more emphasis on encouragement and on the value of self-reliance, while less educated ones more frequently deliver discouragement and emphasize obedience.**** Children in the lower class face stresses and traumas that impair learning and the development of concentration, self-discipline, and problem-solving.**** Putnam explains that children in the lower class face stresses and traumas foreign to the upper class. They are up to five times more likely to face abuse and violence, addiction, and the death or imprisonment of a parent. Those experiences, along with ineffective and unstable caregiving, impair learning and the development of “executive functions” such as concentration, self-discipline, and problem-solving. All these consequences occur independently of public schooling and, largely, before public schooling has even begun**** These problems in turn perpetuate the cycle by diminishing opportunity and career prospects. Between 1960 and 2010, Murray reports, the percentage of upper-class households with a full-time worker declined from 90 percent to 87 percent, while the lower-class decline was from 81 percent to 53 percent. And so, as the next generation starts its own families in its own communities, one can only hope the lower class will manage to hold the eroding ground on which their parents stood. The trends, unfortunately, suggest they have little chance even of that; as the cycle spirals downward and decay engenders yet more decay.**** But elements in Edwards’s upbringing that might have mitigated his economic hardship — a two-parent family instilling strong values, a community filled with hard-working role models committed to the betterment of their children — are exactly what have now gone missing in lower-class America. Social inequality is insidious because it transmits itself across generations by interfering with opportunity.**** Can we conclude that social conditions in the lower class unfairly impair opportunity? If we do, it should affect what outcomes we consider just and what level of government intervention we demand. But the situation is not only a fundamental challenge to some conservative assumptions; it also reinforces conservatives’ emphasis on family and community and traditional values as social bedrocks that a government program or check can never replace. Conservatives are uniquely capable of understanding the problem and should lead the way toward solutions.**** For better and worse, you can’t legislate social change. Social programs — especially if delivered through local organizations — can provide real help to individuals. But programs alone cannot counter the momentum of a free society barreling in the opposite direction. Instead, broader public policy must seek to alter the basic incentives and conditions fueling the negative trends.**** *https://www.google.com/amp/www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2016-02-09/the-costs-of-inequality-the-rich-and-the-rest%3Fcontext%3Damp* **https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/01/12/upshot/make-america-great-again-isnt-just-about-money-and-power.html?rref=collection%2Ftimestopic%2FIncome%20Inequality&action=click&contentCollection=timestopics®ion=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=8&pgtype=collection&_r=0&referer= ***http://paulgraham.com/ineq.html ****https://www.google.com/amp/s/bc.marfeel.com/amp/www.nationalreview.com/article/425746/social-inequality-matters-much-or-more-economic-inequality-oren-cass?client=safari https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=RIghbrn5yfI http://www.scilearn.com/blog/ten-facts-about-how-poverty-impacts-education https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2013/10/17/public-educations-biggest-problem-keeps-getting-worse/?utm_term=.d4f232debd33 https://www.google.com/amp/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2016/7/22/12254046/myths-higher-education-crisis-debt-loans-free-tuition This ties into my weed ideas!!!!!

or is he just a reflection of us? vice versa?
i remember talking to my first love about this....trump is a catalyst and the people KNOW culture needs to change and we need to take action and responsibility in our hands instead of solely relying on the government. the government wants you to use it....just know how to be resourceful
Trump woke lol.
His smokescreens are genius.
He aggravating ppl because he's just making them reflect on themselves. And make them wanna educate themselves more when he says "I know this more than u". He understands humans. And as humans. We don't want someone to be better than us. So it forces us to look at the important stuff and rlly learn about it and how the system fucked us.
Trump is making everything ride up so then he can flip it and change it.
He's cutting off the hurtful parts. So we can focus on ourselves. And improve. And when we improve. We have more. We have more educated ppl. We have more innovators. We have more value that can be offered to places outside of us after we internally improve. And then ppl come here and realize. This is our true value. Humans in our country. Our potential. And how the potential here is so high. That places where it's low and they wanna seek it come to us and we balance out.
Example. Diffusion in cells
He's making America more self reliant.
I think that the most value is life itself. And that's why he's keeping it here. And why he wants to make more American things. Instead of outsourcing. Because if we outsource. We're cheating ourselves. Are we really owners of what we have? They own us. The ones who give us the things we want. Because of media. We are wasting!!!! We need to change the American mentality. Become more self reliant. Improve ourselves. Before we help anyone else. Because if we're low on life supply. Then why would we help other places that only suck out life we have here that we're already low on?
Trump is making the oppressed mad. So they can educate themselves and get to the same level. Realize things. And change the system that they're in. And we can't do that because we're stuck in the established. We're stuck in the capitalist mindset.
Trump is using his "money credibility" as a force to lure ppl out of the darkness.
He's putting on a show to get people involved and wake up.
Media is feeding us false value. False ideas. Encouraging us to spend money for what? Clothes? That were made as a profit maker for us? Kill someone else on the other side of the world? For what? To "look cool"? To feed our ego that was made by media?
My philosophy is this. And history and philosophy and books about humanities and our conditions as humans. Hamlet. Walden. Icarus. Etc.
We need to be more self reliant. We need to build an abundance of valuable producers. Not consumers. We need to build ourselves first. And THEN we can help others out.
We are our own ecosystem and economy and business. We must feed ourselves. We must be healthy. We must have life for ourselves and sustain it and not rely on anyone outside of us. Because. The food we eat. GMO's etc. not good for health. And what? So we can feed back into the healthcare system? That Monopoly money feeding industry off of the sick ppl of our own country? Again. Media attracts u to that shit.
And guess what. We're gonna die because of that. We're gonna die because imagine. One day. We have no access to water because someone is hogging it and then selling it. For what? What will that dollar do? Can they eat it? Oh. So they can buy some shit that is unnecessary. Literally just to feed their ego because "oh. This latest car or fashion will make *media washed ppl* praise me". How sad does that sound? You're just as washed as them.
But u know who has the true value? Someone who knows the value of life alone. Who sees the potential. There's so much potential in that one little garden. That one garden to feed yourself. That one garden that will sustain your basic necessities. Without the need for money. Money has no intrinsic value. Money cannot be eaten. Money cannot be drank. Money cannot sustain life. It can feed an ego that was created because we're brainwashed by media tho. And I guess that comes into play because as humans we love to have attention. We love to be seen as more than the next person. We love the praise. But you're getting the praise by killing one off? So what...you're gonna kill the world you're in. Kill the people you are living in the world with?
And guess what. Sooner or later. YOUR future. YOUR actions that trickle down to next generations after the other. Will have a bad affect because of ur mindset and actions today.
Sooner or later the world will be dead and we killed it. Sooner or later, the ppl we once wanted to get praise from can no longer praise u because they're dying. The ppl u once wanted to trade GOODS with can no longer supply u anymore because WE took it all out by money. So guess what? Now you're dying. Now you're alone. And now you, the one who relied on everyone else to support YOUR HEARTBEAT, will die because you don't know how to keep ur water clean. U don't know how to feed yourself by having your own garden. You don't know how to travel anymore from place to place because u relied on someone else.
It's so ironic. We will kill ppl slowly by exploiting them and making them do stuff. So we can (example), get the labor from them and use it (cotton for example) and sell it for a profit....to get what??? There is no value in that shirt u sold. But there's a life on there that was taken because u were brainwashed into this society and think that money is better than life.
I want to make community gardens. Build wells in communities. Educate ppl on this. Have a better electricity system. Take the talents of others and give them something in return that will help them prosper in life. Ex: a house builder and a person who makes clothing. The house builder has a house. He's good. So what he'll do. Start making a house for the one making clothes (that cloth maker will make clothes for him) and then show the cloth maker how to continue it. And vice versa.
I want to show the world that money has no power over us. Media and the globalization that England started can end today!
We can live a prosperous life.
But as good things start to rise. We get greedy. Aka. Icarus. And we fall. And we die. We want more and more and more. And then we create our own downfall.
Watch. If we start being self reliant. If we start making community gardens. We will be told it's illegal. Soon we will be told that seeds are illegal. CHERISH the seeds. Because seeds grow into hope. Water the brain. Water the heart. Give life and life will give to u. Soon we will discover that the greedy one who doesn't want to change the world and improve it will get upset and scared because he's losing power. He will poison the soil. But guess what? Now you're gonna get ppl mad and they're gonna look at the person who u killed and look at their motives and analyze it. And be like "oh wow. They just killed someone who was trying to improve the world....". Then guess what? Now they're going to be attacked and killed and guess what? Now they have no power. Power over who? U killed everyone! And you're gonna soon die because u just let money buy everything for u and never learned to be self reliant. And now guess what. You're dead. We're all dead.
So what I wanna do. Teach the community to come together. Share the talent. Create things in collaboration. Not in exploration. Not for the sake of capitalism. Create so u can give back to the world and let life live on. If one can grow a tree, one can build a house. If one can grow a garden, one can sustain the health. If one can think up of ways to better electricity, then one can live in light. If one in the light can study in there, then one can think more and more and more. If one can make clothing, then one can be warm and survive and give back life.
Think about how you can give, so then you can continue this legacy. This heaven that was put on earth. Wake up the god in u. Wake up the good. Act in goodness. Let god work thru u. Think ahead of yourself. Think more for yourself. Think for others because that person will offer u more ok return.
Also I rlly agree with trumps policy to lower business taxes. Because it encourages more ppl with great ideas to do them because it's not so much and it's less risk. And it'll encourage ppl to invest more. So again. Production. Innovation. I want these businesses to not be for corporations. But more public projects. Like better electricity. Better agriculture. Better water technology. Etc
And raising taxes on stupid shit. Like clothes. Etc. will discourage ppl to buy them and be more conservative with their money and invest in more long term things. But that's the capitalist part of him. Other than that. From everything that I said above. Will happen when we stop buying so much shit like clothes and shoes and cars and unnecessary things. Creating less value. And ofc, in comparison of the dollar we have, we'll eventually run them out and it'll change society. And with the public projects and the less companies that feed the ego of humans, then our mindset will change and we will make America great again. But. I need to do more behavioral research. Will ppl addicted to smoking or addicted to having their ego stroked rlly be able to react in that way? Will they actually stop putting value into those things? "Value". A dollar with no intrinsic value. But then again it's cotton that's made by exploited ppl. So the money supply and circulation can def have an affect. So this rlly says. Do we have so much value in this dollar that we don't value our health (the buying of the cigs, etc) and our ego is so big we don't even care that we're killing our selves and someone else?
Life gives life to give life.
