maybe this isn't my post to make but I hate the trend of people saying stuff like "congratulations drugs on winning the war on drugs" for shit like marijuana being legalized or companies not being as strict with their drug testing and it's like. The war on drugs was very clearly not a war on drugs, it was and is a way to justify massive police budgets, police brutality, and incarceration, to harm and kill drug users, and the specific rhetoric of the war on drugs directly exists to target POC. White people being allowed to order weed edibles via doordash in progressive parts of the world isn't like, some win over those systems. Thousands are still incarcerated for drug charges. Living in a city where the toxic and unregulated drug supply is killing thousands, including my friends, and not knowing whether or not I'm gonna see those still alive again because of the criminalization and violence of the drug war, knowing people who have the threat of jail time and violence over their heads because they're trying to keep each other safe and test and distribute safe drugs, and then seeing "haha lol we won the war on drugs" puts such a bad taste in my mouth
