Okay so I'm new to army but I haven't been well recently which has weirdly bought me free time and thought hey, why not learn more about K-pop but like........i feel like I've just thrown myself to the wolves. I had every intention to research other K-pop groups but got fixated on bts and like I just thought they were vaguely hot and whatever but now I want them to do well and be healthy and like what is jin up to right now? Like can he just hum into his phone and release it on spotify? Help me

as someone who knew of bts from her moots and got kidnapped and thrown into the army bandwagon by friends, i feel this entire post deeply.

first off, it’s perfectly fine to just be into bts and literally no other kpop band. you shouldn’t feel pressured to listen to more kpop just bc you like bangtan!! i only stanned dbsk for the longest time before i unbent out of my jrock phase to listen to kpop. 

now w that out of the way, let me help you w getting into more kpop bands!

if you get into bands purely based on music, so being subscribed to different k distrubution and company channels is very helpful like: 1thek, genie music, stone music, planetarium records, smtown, antenna, jyp ent, starshiptv, mnh ent, cube, 88rising, super sound bugs etc.

it’s also really helpful to just go on various kpop playlists on youtube and spotify, or do what I do and subscribe to those k music playlist/mashup channels: I personally love jyeoms, miggy smallz, prdsm, mellowbeat seeker, dandelion playlists, ambition, 김동우, euraboo. theres also famous kpop meme channels like 퇴경아 약먹자 to really get you exposed to new bands. (theres a channel that remixes different BTS and bangtan bombs into songs and its EPIC like they once remixed jin’s EL MARIAJIN JJIN JJIN JJIN JIN into the melody of snsd’s gee and it was my  I still think of it to this day) (edit: I FOUND THE CHANNEL but the video was taken down :( its called: RYUSERALOVER) you can also just watch a lot of those variety and radio shows like star golden bell (is this still airing?? someone help this grandma stan), ask in the box, hope song at noon, weekly idol (ESP THE EPS THAT HANI AND HEECHUL HOST), knowing bros, running man etc etc…

and lastly: honestly just follow a lot of multifandom blogs and gif makers and nets here on tumblr. thats how i got into a lot of my bands, including this god forsaken one here, too.
