In my opinion if you’re making a “dark, realistic superhero” work, you should always hold some kind of love for the superhero genre, and if you don’t there is no reason to make it. You’re not going to enjoy your characters or have fun twisting the tropes. You’re just gonna have a bad time writing and make something that nobody enjoys.

#aaronymous ramblings #superheroes #superhero #comic #comics #also i havent read watchmen yet but in one of the summaries i watched #i did enjoy how two characters just.#recognize being superheroes isnt very helpful or great but that its dangerous and fun and its okay to have fun #like a lot of superhero fiction isnt meant to be taken seriously and its just lighthearted fun and thats awesome #I do really like The Boys show though by the way #Also the only other one of this genre I’ve seen is Invincible and it’s good but tbh kinda overrated #and I havent read the comics but it doesnt even feel like a critique its more just what if superman was an evil space facist #and thats cool i just really dont think it should be lumped in with Watchmen or The Boys #but that might just be me
