I'm a certified imagine dragons enjoyer but yeah their current reputation for being generic car commercial music is warranted. Their popularity and acclaim in the firsf half of the 2010s or so was *also* warranted though imho, I'll listen to Smoke and Mirrors or Night Visions (or even Evolve) all day long, but starting with Origins I've just been like. Hm.

#even with their recent songs that have a good melody theres something about the processing that makes it sound. bad #it feels like there's either more or worse autotune on his voice when it comes to the higher notes #i hope he hasnt worn out his voice. a lot of their songs seem on the edge of his vocal range live #either way. mercury acts 1-2 have a lot of songs i like but also a lot that are done a disservice by that post-processing #and thats a very heavily overlapping venn diagram
