I'm not sure how you feel about Stray Kids and this ask isn't actually about their latest comeback but I just saw their rapper Han on Lee Mujin's show and his acoustic-ish cover of Twice's Alcohol Free is actually so good??? Honestly I've always been a hit or miss with their songs but I think I'm just not a fan of how they rap because the first time I heard Bang Chan sing I was like he's actually pretty good please give this boy a slow song and now I'm like why doesn't Han sing more too

he doesn't sing more because they locked up their members into dance, vocal, and rap categories so on official songs they can't actually have one of the 'rappers' sing more/better than their vocalists. also their whole thing is that they're a 'self-produced' group and their producers are rappers so.............

#i've said this before and i'll say it again but jyp purposefully kneecaps his male vocalists #by forcing them outside their ranges and making them stick to his 'technique'#you can tell this almost immediately by listening to any got7 song and then listening to any of jaebeom's or youngjae's solo stuff #also if you compare seungmin in any skz song and then in the kingdom love poem cover where eunkwang is handholding them #they already have bang chan holding up half the vocals now they cant have another one of the 'rappers' taking a vocal position #ive already talked about atz and how they fucked up their original positioning #and they didn't so much as fuck up with skz as set them in very rigid positioning and then lost an integral member #who was a key point to holding that positioning together #they don't actually have anyone to carry a main vocal position rn #and that's why we wont actually get any non-rap title tracks from them #text #answers #stray kids w #i don't really feel either here nor there about them. i only listen to maybe two of their songs
