Oooo, this is a really fun one! My favorite cryptid is called the "Manananggal". The name is derived from the word "tanggal" which means "to separate" because of its ability to detach itself from its lower half at night

#fun fact the upper half gains the ability to fly once separated from the lower half.#Usually depicted as women #and they primarily eat the babies inside pregnant women #but they also lure in men to eat #they also eat insides #like the heart liver and also the stomach #theyre also weak to sunlight so its said that if both halves are still separated the manannggal will be destroyed #put ash/salt/garlic on the exposed area of the lower half #and that's basically how the manananggal can no longer reunite with the other half of her body leaving her susceptible to the sun #technically its also classified as a vampire #noodleanswers #sorry for the long infodump in tags :(((#i was actually excited to finally recieve an ask from this account lol
