I am unsure about giving out my account, but I hope you like my OC

They're a bit more thick-built, both in bone, muscle, and to an extent fat

They don't have the white chest like some deers do,

they're a solid, milk-chocolate brown furred with a lion’s mane and smaller than average antlers

they have amber eyes with green flecks (eyes shaped more like lion eyes)

their tail is cropped off along with parts of their ear, makes it a little hard to tell the original shape

they were declawed

they are a lion-deer hybrid,

They have to wear leg brasses knee down that lets them walk a little easier

very fun very dramatic, I like how clear it is you've thought this through. were the body mods intentional, like the lion mayor? or were they forced upon them at a young age so they could "fit in" better? since they grow antlers AND a mane I'm assuming from a young age they were made to pass primarily as a deer, since manes don't grow in until puberty. generally, anyway, beastars animals work a bit differently from irl animals, Paru is pretty flexible with it and works primarily with a more "realistic" twist on cartoon animal logic.

there's a lot about mixed children we just don't see in beastars, entirely because our 3 points of perspective are from Legoshi (second generation, almost fully passing), his mother Leano (passing until she hit middle age), and Melon (only passes thanks to covering his mixed traits). we do see the children in the Hybrid Kindergarten and the family portraits the kids drew that are hanging up near the ceiling, and because of this chapter we can assume the majority of mixed families live on the edge of the back market because they are most likely to be discriminated against socially and economically. they even have to worry about individuals bent on "understanding hybrids" through nonconsensual means, like taking blood samples from children without a parent or guardians permission. lol.

we learn pretty early on that interspecies marriage was only legalized relatively recently, and also that same species couples get government funding to ease the burden of raising children. and, legally speaking, an animals last name is their species (which we see on all student I.D.s), which makes special cases like Melon easy to miss in the system. in the manga at least, his legal last name is the species of the animal he passes as the most, his father the Gazelle. Leano would be Leano the Grey Wolf just like Legoshi. it's emphasized over and over again that society expects everyone to fit into A Box, A Type Of Person, a species a subspecies a carnivore or herbivore strong or weak. these are the pressures that forced Leano to kill herself, these are the pressures that gave melon... numerous... mental illnesses. to put it simply. which is all just to say life as a mixed individual in society is very very difficult, which it is! and reasonably comparable to the real life difficulties of mixed families in the real world (which I am the child of, hi)

if I wasn't actively at a party I'd be looking up chapters and posting sources for everything I've mentioned. alas.

Introduction to Corporal De.an Portman, my husband 💙💙

Portman is from the 2005 Do.om movie, which was a box office failure. You’ve likely heard of it in the context of ‘worst video game films ever’, but really, it’s not that bad, personally, I think it’s fun and absolutely deserves to become a cult film. I fully believe it will become a cult film .

He’s in the RRTS (Rapid Response Tactical Squad), basically he’s a privatized Marine. Other members of the squad include Sarge, Reaper, Goat, Destroyer, Mac, Kid, and Duke. All of those are Handle I.D.s, nicknames essentially, Portman’s is, well, Portman .

His character is a bit of an obnoxious asshole, saying offensive things and generally being a bit of a dick, but always with a shit eating grin that tells you he’s enjoying this way too much. He gives shit he gets shit, his jabs and jokes are usually followed with a chorus of “shut up, Portman” “I’m sick of your filth, Portman” “don’t give me an excuse, Portman”. He appears to have a sadistic sense of humor, and doesn’t seem particularly squeamish .

No one can stand him and no one likes him. My sad pathetic man. The only character in canon (novel canon) that is actually friends with him is Mac, who also appears to be an outcast in the squad. Portman is genuinely distraught when Mac dies and nobody seems to care about his death, sad he’s lost the only guy on the squad that was ever friendly to him, and fearful of his inevitable demise where no one will care about him and he’ll be forgotten *snaps* just like that .

Into drugs which is a very minor point in the movie, but more involved in the novel. He was written much more erratic and nervous than the movie which, I am not a huge fan of .

In fact, often feels like he’s written to be a bit of a pussy, which, I believe, is an exact descriptor used for him at one point. I don’t personally think he is, considering they are dealing with freaky creatures never before seen and an unknown number of them, entirely reasonable to be scared and or nervous .

In general the novel treats Portman as being just, inherently shitty and generally pathetic. Though, he is also unintentionally written as quite sad in combo, I feel for him outside of my obvious affections .

He knows they don’t like him, he’s tried to fit in .

Honestly it seems like no one even gave him a chance + There’s a high possibility Portman doesn’t even want to be in the military .

Anyway, enough screenshots for the moment. The way Portman thinks about the squad, I wouldn’t be surprised if he simply just stopped caring about getting along or trying to be nice because no one liked him anyway, so why try? A mutual of mine, gave me my eureka moment as to Why Portman Is Like That (shitty), and that’s because negative attention is better than no attention. And he certainly seems like the type of guy that would rather die than be ignored .

Seems like a party guy, definitely sleazy and cocky and shitty but that’s why he’s so hot lol. We don’t know how he dresses day to day and that saddens me. The only thing we see him wear besides his tactical gear is a hawaiian shirt, gray-ish white pants I think they’re jeans maybe, and white loafers, truly A Look. Is it a good look? Bad look? Idk man but it’s a look, I like it .

My self insert (Minister) reciting poetry about Portman to Portman daily has both contributed to Portman’s minor ego and his way of speaking. Sometimes you’ll hear him talk and it flows just a little too flowery or pretty. Sayings and word choices are primarily what he picks up, vocabulary having grown quite a bit after dating Minister .

He has a passion for music which is partially supported by canon, constantly having his little headphones with him. He likes speedmetal + punk rock in canon but I like to imagine he also enjoys a lot of different alt music and things like She Wants Revenge, Love and Rockets, Smashing Pumpkins, and so on .

I also believe he prefers movies over TV. Likes those generic action movies for dudes but also into horror. Likes horror movies with torture and crazy gore .

Loves petnames, primarily giving but receiving is nice as well but he won’t actually admit it, goes hand in hand with his love of praise and being told positive things about himself. Favorite petnames to give are doll / dollface, sweetie, cutie, and babe .

1. What was your very first anime ever? Have you ever finished it?

Naruto. Lmao I’m so original. Um I finished the manga but no way have I finished the anime. 

2. What’s the longest anime series you’ve ever watched?

Fricking One Piece omg. Currently sitting at 816 episodes and no end in sight, but I love it to death so you won’t catch me complaining. Also I haven’t actually watched all of it. Just a very large chunk lol

3. Do you listen to music or anything while working/writing/drawing? What is it or why not?

If I’m drawing/working I’ll listen to whatever I’m into at the moment. But if I’m trying to write usually I’ll listen to kpop or anime/Japanese music so I don’t get as distracted singing along to it (bcus I don’t know the words as well lol).

4. Who is your most hated pairing? The never-gonna-happen-paring(NGHP)?

Oh geez. Elv u tryin to get me in a fight with somebody lol

I hate just about any pairing that is a kid/teen with an adult. Like a few years’ gap is one thing but like a full-grown with a teen, even a legal teen just creeps me out. Pretty much any incest ship as well, obviously. So for example pretty much any Attack on Titan pairing that has the kids with the veterans, or certain ships from Vampire Knight (with the exception of one that I didn’t realize was incest until after I started hardcore shipping it and finished the manga and I’m still mad omg). Idk I know I got some hardcore NOTPs but I can’t think of most of them rn ugh. Ok I’ll just say it tho I hated Kaname/Yuki from Vampire Knight there we all happy now? Ill hit u up if I remember the others lol

5. What anime/manga did you first draw/write for?

Narutooo. Except I never actually finished or published any of those fics so idk if that counts haha.

6. Subtitles or dubbed anime?

Usually subtitles, although there are a very few where I can’t stand the Japanese voicing and gotta watch the dub to save my sanity XD

AHAHA. Yes. I frequently make references to Kesha songs. Um “Tik Tok” (”Party don’t start til I walk in”, obvs) and a couple others but I can’t think of them rn...also I frequently make references to that song line “Haven’t you people ever heard of closing the *coughs* goshdarn door” (sorry Elv no swears this time haha)

9. What’s your worst/funniest injury story?

The worst one is the one where I was in a really bad bike crash and split my face open really bad. It took ages to heal omg I was so miserable. I can’t really think of any funny ones rn but I’ll hit u up if I think of anything.

10. Who are your top three Voice Actors?

Khary Payton

I’ve watched a couple shows that he voices in and he plays a lot of neat black/black-coded characters but lbr here the biggest reason I like him is because he voices my fave Young Justice character Aqualad so uh yeah. Also funny story he also apparently voices Aqualad’s father which must have been both amusing and awkward bcus a) they share a lot of scenes in s2 and b) they end up fighting so he had to argue with himself like that must’ve been entertaining 

Kevin Michael Richardson

Legit my favorite voice actor ever omg. One of the few I can almost always pick out even tho i.d.ing vcs ain’t my greatest skill. Voices Martian Manhunter (one of my fave superheroes) in Young Justice. Plays tons of other big bads and just bigs like. Is it a big tough guy with a deep voice in an action TV show? It’s probably KMR. He plays in tons of shows I love, Transformers stuff and tons of DC superhero stuff and Thundercats...Star Wars and Avatar the Last Airbender too apparently. This guy is in everythiiing. Fave voice actor forever honestly he’s sooo good.

A fave vc since before I really paid attention to that kind of stuff because he voices absolutely my favorite Naruto character ever, Gaara. He’s done a bunch of other big stuff I enjoy too like Transformers, Bleach, AND OMG. Kay I went through their IMDB pages to do this part and omg. He also plays War from Darksiders aka my favorite video game franchise ever how did I forget that. Did I even know. Anyways. He’s played in tons of other big video game and anime franchises too but honestly whenever I hear his name my only thought “hey that’s the guy who plays Gaara!” Also he’s really funny, too.

Going to be another short entry, but I definitely wanted to touch base with you guys. Been working through the weekends lately. Kicking ass and taking names. Getting a serious amount of work done. I'm still doing good. Physically I'm spent, mentally I'm probably at my limit lol, but emotionally I'm strong. Stronger than I thought I'd be for this time of year.

It probably had something to do with pressing the whole "do right get right" attitude and spiel with several people lately, from coworkers to my son. And I truly mean every word, from giving over paid change back to cashiers to not cutting corners at my work. Besides the fact that my position is incredibly important to me, it just isn’t worth it. Not to me at least.  

I've also had police interaction twice in the last week. Once because I was helping a friend drop off furniture at what we thought was a Goodwill drop off, but as the police officer told us, it is not a drop off now. lol

Needless to say, we explained ourselves, he ran our i.d.s then sent us on our way, after we loaded everything back up that is. The second one was just a random truck inspection by a state patrol while in the work truck travelling to a job. He didn’t find any thing to write us up for, so he let us go as well. It is a good feeling having my i.d. run and not have any warrants pop up. Aside from trying to get on the joint military base these two times were the first times police have ran my name since getting my life together out here.

The company I work for came through for me in a big way. After crunching some numbers last week, I realized I was not going to have enough money saved up for all the Christmas I needed to buy and in enough time to send it all home by Christmas. Anyways, the program that helped me out when my sons needed me and my financial assistance, just came through for me again. All my Christmas is bought and paid for, and I am so grateful. Now the next few days will be spent wrapping gifts, filling out the rest of the cards, and getting it all packaged up to send home.

The company I work for, and the people I work with mean more to me than anyone probably truly realizes, which probably helps with why I set the bar so high with my work ethic. My position, my integrity, I believe to go hand in hand with the way people view the company.

Those were the highlights from the last couple of weeks. Look its real simple, just do right. When faced with a choice, its usually easy to tell what the right decision is, not always but most of the time, so just make it. Plain and simple. Choose good over bad, right over wrong, and in the times its questionable reflect on it, meditate, or ask for opinions from others. The right/good answer will reveal itself.

And without question, always, always choose love over any kind of hate. It will make the quality of life better and better, along with how much easier it gets to make those decisions. When you realize that people who know also stop, or just don’t question your integrity at all and it is one of the best feelings I, personally, have ever felt in my life.

Most important, repetitive, thing I can press on you all, aside from doing right even when no one is looking, is being grateful for all you have. Truly grateful, like in your heart, not just what others see, but feeling it, convincing yourself, why and that will also increase more positives in life.

All of these things have worked for me. Seems like forever ago since I was barely holding on to the hope that brought me out of the drama, stress filled, miserable hell of a life I once had. My life had far exceeded everything I thought I would get from getting off drugs and living right-truly right.

I guess that’ll do it for tonight. I will try not to miss another Sunday, for you and for me. Thanks again for reading my bullshit guys. It means the world to me.
