i very desperately want some good pete angst

i really want more post-canon Pete angst where Pete has to really grapple with the reality that now there is somebody who sees him and who knows him, and that Vegas will continue to do so and won't let Pete fade into the background anymore—or at the very least not with him—, also, Pete wanting to be seen and acknowledged but being so used to being a background character in his own life that he still defaults to disappearing into the background bodyguard style

(side note: Pete being confronted with being forgotten about is always a fun one when it comes up :))

also, something about how there will always be an angry man in your house if you've been raised by one and how Pete, Vegas and Macau (even though Macau maybe less so, but i don't know) have grown up with one, and how Pete sometimes jumps/flinches in certain scenes, for example, the one where Vegas lets the noodles fall to the ground and Pete immediately jumps—somebody made a post about that at one point but please don't ask me who or what post, i don't remember—and i would just love to see that get more explored

i know there are fics out there that deal with this! (i've read a few, lmao) but i want more, because i thrive on angst and hurt(/comfort)
