omg thank you so much for your reply! i've recently started getting into knitting (I mostly did crochet before) and also trying to make more conscious yarn choices (because who knew what you make clothes out of will determine whether you wear them or not..). But I find it hard to find brands sometimes when it feels like mainstream fiber artist are only using very limited brands. So thank you I'll look into the brands for sure!!! I'm not in toronto sadly :( not even in canada lol :') Can I ask though if you've ever worked with Noro? My local yarn store has a bunch of it and the colorways look so amazing.
(also the porcelain sweater!!!! it's soo gorgeous it's gonna look so good omggg. I strive to be able to make it one day)
oh absolutely!!! thrilled to find a fellow knitter, again thank you for the ask it brightened my whole day :)
a knitter i really love, who makes beautiful patterns as well, is thepetiteknitter (https://www.thepetiteknitter.com/) they live and work out of nunavut, one of the territories in canada.
i also rec jennifer berg who is a Navajo fibre artist that makes beautiful patterns & works with local wool - https://www.nativeknitter.com/
i think i have worked with noro!!! you're so right that the colours are unbelievable - i think i made a tea cozy for my parents with a noro yarn and i really enjoyed working with it. i think i did cable work for it ?? and it worked super smoothly. i don't remember which noro yarn it was BUT it's a thumbs up from me!!!
