reasons to wear the damn masks everywhere:

you do not want kicking the heat on for the winter to involve carefully timed sessions across several days with all doors and windows open to make it safe to breathe

you don't want to flee indoors every time someone down the block lights a fire or stays barbecuing or has a smoke

and you do not want to be stuck practicing shallow breathing in a respirator because there wasn't enough warning to let the air purifiers scrub the whole house first
