Heya! I'm usually a lurker, but your writing is good! Please rest and take your time! I've been on a Geten kick as of late, and this idea has been stewing in my head for awhile now, and I love it. May I request headcanons for Geten that has an S/O that is like cowboy mercenary, who really only goes after people who are like just awful. One night, they don't come at all. Hours, late it is because they got badly hurt by a rival merc. They get home, patched up, and then angst into fluff ensues!

(Anon, I know how you feel. I've actually been on a quiet Geten kick lately since the weather in my area has been a bit chilly. My little brain has hatched a few ideas for him that haven't seen the light of day from beyond my drafts. Perhaps this'll help me get the lead out and start everything up)

-He admired you and your strength. Sure at first he was weary of your presence within the upper ranks of the MLA. He wasn't alone so it wasn't like he was delusional in his ideas. Skeptic kept a very close eye on you for a few months when ReDestro announced your joining. Geten wasn't alone in doubting you or your goals here. However, you managed to gain his respect by showing your raw ability both on and off of the battlefield. You weren't tough by one way, but more along when it came to smarts. You had skill/technique that allowed you a success rate of 98.9% when it came to what you did. As a mercenary, you always aimed for much higher than that.

-After a while Redestro started to notice the way Geten was acting with you. He was keeping an eye out this time not as a leader but as someone who sees himself as a guardian over Geten. He'd taken him in at a young age and watched him grow in many different ways. Now the young adult seems to be venturing out into love territory, Rikiya thinks. Why else would Geten always be staring at you cleaning your guns the way that you did? It wasn't just this, but you preferred to keep a singular steed taken care of well throughout your life and used when riding up into the mountains. Geten had taken over most of your chores as he tended to the horse, maybe to gain your favor? Rikiya was left speculating for a while until he finally decided to team you two up specifically.

-It all became clear the more time you spent together that you two had developed feelings for each other. Perhaps the only one more excited about Geten becoming your S/O would be the old man himself. Sure he wasn't a kid anymore, but Rikiya couldn't help but to feel pride for Geten either way.

-Now that you two were together, Geten was able to show more of his emotions towards you while remaining more or less the same in his behavior. He knew you were strong/smart enough to handle yourself when you went off to take care of business but he still felt protective over you. It was more and more lately that he was complaining about you heading out late at night to kill some low-life. You kept reminding him that the cover of the night served you well when it came to stealth. He always folded for you and watched you go off without him. You made sure he didn't regret it by handling up your task fast and returning to him. That's why tonight he wasn't feeling so very well as he watched to clock tick on the wall. This deep sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach became worse and worse the longer you were gone for. By the time he went out to find you, it was too late. He opened the door and there you were, crawling up the steps covered in blood and scars. How long had you been crawling like this!?

-He wasn't sure what to do in the moment. Panic was overtaking his train of thought. He wanted to call an ambulance, to take you to the hospital, to call ReDestro. What the hell could he do?! Your coughing and feeble speaking his name was enough to shock him into action. He carefully grabbed hold on you and dragged you to the bathroom so he could patch you up. He tried extremely hard to convince you to go to the hospital when he was done but you just wanted to rest. He knew you wouldn't have the energy to argue with him but he respected you enough to care for your wishes. The next morning might have been the first time you two argued as a couple.

-You just remember the exchange in words. The way the conversation had taken a bad turn and the rude words you two ended up letting slip. Both of you had said some things that shouldn't have been said. There were names exchanged and the threaten to break up had been more than enough to weigh heavily on the both of you. Spending some time (about an hour) apart in separate rooms was enough for the two of you to calm down and come back to your senses. Geten wasn't one to apologize for things he deemed unnecessary. However, he found himself on his knees at your bedside...apologizing to you. Showing you his vulnerability all at once. When you'd forgiven him, his heart twisted up into a knot and he felt the familiar uncomfy sensation of tears welling up in his eyes. There wasn't a word spoken more between the two of you as he carefully crawled into bed with you and held you closely. There wasn't a word that needed to be said in all honesty. Your actions spoke more loudly than words.

┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ♥︎ . *. ⋆ IT WAS TRUE; the group he arrived at alexandria with was fairly numbered, each person likely having developed their own particular skill sets after the years they'd spent as a cohort. if anyone were to ask mike, the group became somewhat of his FAMILY over time; he'd always considered dustin, lucas, will, max, el, all of them a part of his family, but if he really thought about it, this world allowed him to connect deeper with his father and with hopper in ways he never would have imagined if things hadn't changed.

carl's teasing comment gave him a break from his own mind, and he gave a small scoff, rolling his eyes slightly. ❝ no, i'm not scared, ❞ he responded. apprehensive maybe a little, but as far as he knew, what he was feeling wasn't quite fear. he wasn't sure why, but it was difficult for mike to imagine being scared of carl. he could be intimidating and blunt, yes, but that didn't quite meet the requirements of becoming a FEAR of mike's. if anything, being around carl made mike feel almost ... safe. he trusted the other and his experience, and saw how well-respected he was around the compound. he figured that had to be for a reason. ❝ the walkers are definitely scarier than you, though. ❞

he nods, his gaze averting from the map to catch carl's gaze at the mention of judith. that's right; carl had a little sister too. part of mike hoped that that would mean they would LEARN together and become a cohesive unit, just like the older teens and adults were in the compound, but the prospect of holly facing what the world could bring ... it both made him shiver and his blood boil. ❝ ... yeah. i don't want either of them to ever have to face the world, but knowing what it's like, they'll probably have to at some point. just ... not right now, thank god. ❞

Carl can sense Mike’s nervousness outside the walls pretty clearly, since he’s far from the first person Carl has accompanied on a trip that’s a bit out of their comfort zone. At least this time it’s someone around his age, instead of someone older who will spend the whole time complaining about being babysat by a kid. Yeah, a kid who’s got more kills than any of these people who have been safe inside Alexandria this whole time could ever dream of.

“Your party is pretty big,” Carl says. Honestly, they all remind him a bit of his own. How close they all are. They haven’t faced nearly as much as those Carl and his dad have been traveling with, but the fact that they’re some of the ones most willing to try is admirable. Carl, more specifically the bitterness that at some point has moved into his brain and stayed put ever since, can’t help but look down on those who have had the luxury of cushy safe lives while they were out there eating bugs and stray dogs. But the more helpful, the more willing to prove themselves, are earning his respect quicker than the others.

Carl looks up at Mike, his lips tugging up in a smile he tries to resist. “What, you scared being out here all alone with me?” he asks, in a very teasing tone, while leaning into Mike’s personal space a little bit. Only a little. Carl doesn’t like his own personal space to be challenged. “Is it me or the Walkers freaking you out?”

Judith is just about the same age as Holly, and Carl knows he won’t be letting her back outside the walls for as long as fucking possible. Over his dead body that his sister be subjected to any of the ugliness of the world before she’s ready. He knows exactly the kind of effect it can have on a kid, and he doesn’t want that to happen to her.

“There’s no rush. She’s practically still a baby. Until they’re old enough, all that matters is that they’re safe.”

I've been thinking about these 3 alot...

... and how much they seem to really respect Shino. I know it's a filler, but, like... Why does it seem like Shino has a knack for finding children who have wondered off away from school? Like, he's just taking a walk, making his way around the village or surrounding forest, and then there they are. Kids playing hooky or some shit. And Shino just takes it upon himself to approach them and steer them back to where they should be, while getting them attached to him somehow in the process??

But honestly. If this was just one of many times this had happened, I'd say Shino does this not out of his knack for teaching or having a way with kids. Rather, he developed a way with kids and easily applies that to his teaching because he has a strong desire to simply protect children. And it's not even from some paternal instinct as much as survival, because I think it stems from the developing trauma of losing Torune to Danzo. And I don't think it's all subconscious either.

Like I know the novel and anime frames his desicion to teach as a sort of a new goal in life as the war has ended for a couple years already and a noticable Peace has been achieved by the Blank Period and well... He's an Aburame.

Like, the Aburame are literal living, breathing, walking bioweapons. With no fight to utilize that, what else is there? Well, much like the Nara have the Nara forest and Pharmacology specifically, The Aburame most likely have a historical stake in the area of Konoha, perhaps it was simply in their Ancestral Home. Idk, but they're here to stay, they ain't budging. They're Clan Culture is very Martial and I'd argue Spartan in nature, but otherwise, they do other things too. I think they'd do well as major players in the conservation and research of native species of animals and plants, but definitely insects too. I bet they play a huge part in the general area's ecosystem, especially due to the fact that the Kamizuru clan attacked with a whole clan's worth of non-native Hymenoptera that could very well have become and still are an irritatingly and consistent problem as invasive species tend to be. And as a far as goods go, why not put some of them to use and handle an apiary? Honey is a great good to sell. All of this is great as a clan that no longer needs to fight. But, what about individual members in general, and so Shino?

Well Shino is the Heir of this clan. This Noble Clan. This "ready to throw hands at any moment" clan. It's future is in his hands, so to speak. So I doubt Shino would completely sever his connection to Shinobi life all together. And so, teaching at the Academy would be a great way to keep that connection. Teachers have to know their stuff, after all.

But what if in order to ensure teaching was his calling, Shino did his absolute best to make Jounin ASAP so he could take on a Genin Team. And. And by chance, it ended up being these three?? And they are absolutely STOKED!!! And they also pass Shino's genin test, which... would probably be a feat in it's own right. But they already know Shino, and Shino has bestowed upon them some wisdom they actually took to heart! Yeah, well, in reality they might be just a tad too old to be Shino's first official genin squad, but they were still his squad one point in a sense, right?

Kon Nohara, Tano Ikemoto, and Aoki Kobayashi

I even gave them names help Imagine these three are already chuunin at least and decide they want to pay Shino a visit and even volunteer to help Shino during class time on a collective day off because they admire him so much (T~T)

But even then if not these three kiddos, maybe these three li'l shits lol

Even in times of Peace, Shino's special set of skills seem too useful to waste, and being a Jounin teacher would definitely have been a way he could still go on missions, but also definitely commit to becoming a Sensei at the academy once he was 100% sure and got older. Kurenai became a Jounin/Genin Squad Leader in her late twenties, but in comparison I see Shino doing that more mid-20s. (He needs some time to travel and find his big bug friend and generally live a little?)

Kurenai was a Genjutsu Specialist who manned a Tracker/Sensing based team. This sounds like it was a highly beneficial combination, even if she ended up being somewhat sadistic lol. Asuma was bound to Team 10 by Tradition as InoShikaCho and Sarutobi have that Pact together. Kakashi's team was literally Cherry Picked for him specifically by the 3rd Hokage. And Gai, a Taijutsu Specialist, had a team that Specialized in Taijutsu and Physical Offense.

Of all four teams, Kurenai and Gai were very suited to their teams, Gai in a complimentary way and Kurenai in a Challenging way. In that same vein, I think Shino would imitate Gai. Shino as a Shinobi himself has a general set of skills, but the way he goes about them are very niche. But, he was always very stealthy, and could sneak up on nearly anyone. Gags aside, he could go unnoticed as long as he wanted too, and by the time he was noticed or was ready to attack, he has you quite literally surrounded. Honestly I can see why Search and Destroy would be an Aburame's forte, but when there's no need, a person with a personal skill of high quality stealth could probably man a team with an emphasis on Reconnaissance and/or Surveillance, even Bodyguarding. I feel like Shino would probably put an emphasis on Stealth and Tracking too, utilizing his insects as sort of assistants that keep tabs on his students (Stealth Test) as well as to encourage just enough fear during too much down time in his students to inspire quality training opportunities, so maybe Kurenai rubbed off on Shino more than they all realized haha

(Plus I'm sure his students would be be smart and thoughtful enough to eventually understand what Shino and his bugs are: a complete unit. They realize just how strong and dedicated Sensei really is to be the way he is, and they all learn more in depth about Kikaichu and it's like WOW SENSEI YOU REALLY ARE RISKING BEING EATEN ALIVE EVERY SINGLE DAY, AREN'T YOU? But he's still here, because THAT'S how strong he's become over the years and the confidence to manipulate the Kikaichu while having to think of current chakra level, the most efficient use at any given time, how many he actually needs, how long usage will last, ect. They are high maintenance, man!)

Shino would no doubt produce highly skilled Bodyguards and Masters of Stealth. Maybe the type that would end up being in high demand for the eventual Celebrities that start to pop up as times change, but still very much needed when it comes to Criminal Activity, like in Sora-Ku?

But as time passes and he decided to teach at the Academy, he'd feel very at ease to do so. He'd be happy to be put in charge of all these children, because he would be able to help teach them things they need to know to defend themselves and others in a world where adults like Danzo had and will continue to exist. Maybe while he's at it, he'd use his stance as a Noble Clan Heir and accomplished Shinobi to push for changes in government with Sai's help and with Naruto and Shikamaru's cooperation? Like, the truth does come out, everyone on the Council were actually horrible and had too much power. So HERE are some ideas and REASONS why these ideas should be implemented because Shino's not going to let his brother's life and death be in vain!? HELL no, we WILL make some changes around here. Shino sees his students and just wants a future where no kid ever has to live in fear of being completely taken advantage of by the very system that was supposed to keep them safe and they pledged allegiance to.

I cannot help but think of the quiet but absolute fear little Shino was harboring for the years to come after Torune was taken by that strange man and Father Shibi didn't even attempt to stop him. His own father didn't dare beat the shit out of this strange man who came looking for him, and the only solution for Shino to stay was for Torune to make himself look more desirable as an asset and be taken instead. I bet there was a lot of misplaced resentment there for a while, and talks that just didn't happen. Maybe a classmate doesn't show up to class one day and Shino is IMMEDIATELY stressed out and just... takes it upon himself to look for them after class. And he's relieved when he see they're simply at home with a fever. Shit like that just fucks with Shino, because theres people taking kids and no one is doing anything about it?? And then as Shino grew older he realized exactly what happened and how slimy the machine of Konoha really is and it was never completely Shibi's fault that Torune had to leave. He grows mentally at a faster rate than most of his classmates, and knows more than a kid really needs to know.

Shino doesn't want that for any other child. Shino is the kind of person who hears kids screaming outside of his house and he can't tell if they're playing or being murdered and it's stressful to the point he'll check through his window and he sees them for himself. He get stressed out seeing a kid in public unattended and WANTS to approach them to help if need be but also maybe he's overthinking it and the parents are there somewhere and he'd just end up looking suspicious. Like, that's what I kind of figure for Shino. He's so hyperaware of the power dynamic between kids and adults and seeing a kid so ready to fall victim to that makes Shino feel ill the more he thinks of what could happen. And he wonders if watching the kid in the market until they finally reunite with their parent so he could move on with the rest of his day causes him even a fraction of the the utterly disgusting flurry of nerves and fear that Shibi must have felt all those years ago. It goes along with his desire to spare every single little insect's life he can. It goes a long with the fact he only gets violent unless absolutely necessary. Like he wants to be strong but he doesn't want to go mad with power either, less he becomes the very thing that hurt him and his family in the first place.

Originally Shino wanted to become strong to be able to defend himself because at a very young age adults failed him and Torune. But then that changes to defend not only himself, but others as he grows on a team, and realizes trust is important. And then he figured if there must be adults out there that would hurt a child, it's only logical that he should become one that would only nurture and teach one to be strong as well.

Anyway, yeah. Had some feelings. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Out of self indulgence, I'm going to go through a lot of the female Atla characters that I've considered shipping my OC Raiga with. I don't want to just ship him with my waifu, even if he might as well be a self insert. I'm not that self indulgent.

For reference, I'd compare Raiga's personality to like that of Inuyasha; an abrasive male tsundere who has a wild side, does as he pleases, a hot temper if you cross him but a really sweet and affectionate spot if he warms up to you. Because he's outlived so many people and isolates himself in the forests, he's actually very lonely deep down. Raiga is a bit of a thrill seeker who enjoys getting into fights with strong opponents. The adrenaline rush helps distract him.

He's part immortal nature spirit and doesn't like anyone who hurts animals or disrespects the environment. Raiga isn't a fan of the Fire Nation or firebenders considering their people are historically responsible for a lot of environmental destruction. Not to say he won't come around on a Fire National. Raigs is physically stuck with a body that's physically about 21 years old, as his aging has slown way down.

Now, on to the list of ladies;

Katara - She would have been a good fit if I didn't mind breaking her up with Aang, but I'm not doing that. Raiga would admire her respect for nature and her strong will. Katara would know how to be kind but not put up with his BS. She reminds me of Kagome, and I could see a sort of dynamic like Belle and the Beast from Disney. The ideal balance of soft but strong, but it's not happening with Aang around.

Toph - They might get along because of their similar personalities, but just as easily could be rivals. Raiga would love to fight the strongest earthbender and consider her a worthy opponent. Toph might develop a crush on him, but I think Toph crushes on cute guys easily. I don't see it getting too serious though, as I'm not sure either could really bring out the other's softer side. Toph would be more open with her feelings, but only a little. Maybe a brief fling when she'san adult. Both love their freedom. I actually wrote a piece where Raiga fights Toph in Korra's era, and I imagine she'd hit on him even when she's an old lady.

Suki - Again, not going to break up a canon couple. I don't see Suki liking Raiga and I don't think he'd have much interest in her anyway. Then again, I could see the dynamic being similar to Katara as Suki has that balance of hard and soft. Raiga might warm up to her, but he wouldn't be a fan of her disciplined nature. He'd probably needle her if she got on his case.

June - This one could be interesting; June is definitely the sort of edgy bad girl that Raiga would be attracted to, and her apparently being an animal lover is a huge plus. At first I think Raiga would be angered that June tamed a wild shirshu, but he'd be moved when he sees how much she loves Nyla. June has just the right attitude, but I don't see anything long term happening from what little we see of her. She might find Raiga intriguing but he might not her type.

Mai - I think Raiga would be intrigued by Mai. He's part cat and I think Mai is a cat person. He'd like her snarkiness, and I think the dynamic might be a little like Maiko. Raiga would at the very least respect Mai's boundaries as she respects others', and he'd enjoy hanging out, warming up to her much sooner than most. I think they'd have great chemistry.

Azula - Somewhat a mix of Suki, Mai, and Toph. While Raiga might be inclined to tease Azula for her discipline, he'd be very excited to fight her. While he doesn't like firebenders, and he definitely wouldn't like Azula if she callously burns a tree or flower, he'd respect her skill and power, seeing her as another worthy opponent. While Azula might see him as a dirty savage beast at first, she might come around to respect both his tenacity and his audacity. Like Toph though, I don't think they'd be able to reveal each other's vulnerable sides outside of extenuating circumstances, but I think at least Raiga would care about her freedom.

Ty Lee - I originally put Ty Lee very low on the list, but I'm coming around to seeing the potential. She's much more outroverted and friendly than Raiga, who is grumpy by default. Ty Lee would probably be turned off by Raiga's crudeness and he wouldn't be swayed by her charm. This, however, might make a good opposites attract story. Ty Lee might be the kind of person to get Raiga out of his shell, but still have the strength to push back when he's rude to her. Raiga for his part might help Ty Lee gain more confidence in herself, make her feel thstvshe doesn'thave to tryand please everyone all the time. At the least, I think Ty Lee is one of the few characters who could really get away with pushing his buttons.

Jin - One of the nicest, most down to earth girls. I think she'd be the best girl to get Raiga to show his sifter side, much like she did with Zuko. On the other hand, she's highly undeveloped as a character, and I don't know if she'd have the spark to really excite Raiga, who gets bored easily without stimulation. I do think Raigavwould be impressed at her appetite. He'd care for her deeply, but the chemistry might not be there unless I write it in and give her some spice. In any case, Jin would still be one of my top picks.

One plot I had in mind was Raiga and Jin having a child, but Raiga is forced into hibernation before their baby is born. Jin has to raise it on her own and hide it as it displays spirit animal traits. The White Lotus would be after the child to either recruit to their cause or to imprison it should it pose a threat to the Avatar and the world order like Raiga often did. At worst, they would try to kill it, though I'm 100% sure the Red Lotus would try to recruit them. This could work with other characters too, but Jin is the most flexible.

Korra - They'd make friendly rivals like Toph and Azula, but nothing beyond good friends. He respects her, and knowing what she's been through, Raiga wouldn't try to put her down or tease her.

Asami - A good balance of strength and gentleness, but like Jin maybe a little too gentle. Again though he'd respect her, though might make the occasional joke about her wealth.

Ginger - This is one I actually wrote a bit of. I had envisioned Raiga and Ginger as being a sort of Beauty and the Beast/King Kong/Tarzan and Jane sort of romance, but there's not much to Ginger beyond the Hollywood glamour aesthetic. I thought the show did Ginger real dirty and if I continue writing her. I'm going to seriously flesh her out.

Eska (and Desna) - Honestly, I think Eska is the best fit for Raiga overall. She's got the edge that Mai does as well as the tiny kernel of softness under all that ice. She's also part of the Water Tribe, which is one of the cultures Raiga respects for their closeness to the spirits. Their relationship would probably be rocky at first since she is royalty and Raiga tends to scoff at monarchies, and Eska might see him as another country rube. With a little time though I think they would come to respect each other's uncompromising attitudes; she might find his rough, uncultured ways charming, and he'd like her blunt sincerity.

Now as for Desna, I think a lot of the same sort of applies, but he's a little bit softer than his sister and I think Raiga would be very protective of him. Raiga would not see Desna as a third wheel and would probably come to love him too, as either a brother or something more.

Ikki - I think Ikki would be extremely fond of Raiga and he'd take care of her like a little sister. She might develop a crush on him, but he wouldn't really notice until she grows up, in which case I think their dynamic would be like him and Ty Lee. Being immortal, Raiga wouldn't necessarily be too old biologically, but if he knew her when she was a kid he would definitely need to time to adjust if she showed interest in him as an adult. It would be one of the few times he'd be uncomfortable in a relationship. Raiga is very protective of kids, and he'd have to come around to accept that Ikki grew up.

As an aside, this is basically how I would have written the relationship between Lion-O and Wily Kit in the unmade second season of Thundercats 2011, as that's the only way I can imagine pulling that off given the age difference and time skipping shenanigans.

Lin - Raiga would absolutely LOVE to tease the hell out of and needle Lin for how strict she is and it would infuriate her. While she might seem too old for him, he'd technically be far older and wouldn't care. I think Raiga would develop a soft spot for Lin, and he'd be the first person to tell her she had the right to be angry with her mom and sister. Annoyance developing into mutual respect.

Suyin - Raiga would see right through her shit. He'd have little respect for her, and while he'll tease certain fettered people like Lin for a bit of fun, he'd mostly do it out of contempt for Su. He would hate how unnatural and artifical Zaofu is, he'd hate how full of herself Suyin is and her hypocrisy. Lin is the kind of wealthy person Raiga loathes. This is an anti ship.

Ming-Hua - Might have made a sexy villainous relationship. Raiga does have a thing for bad girls, but like other characters Ming-Hua is undeveloped and not much to go on.

Kuvira - Raiga is not a fan at all. While he respects her skill and resolve, Raiga would abhor how Kuvira took away so many people's freedom and the disrespect and destruction towards nature. He'd want to fight her and not as a friendly rival but as an ideological enemy. Kuvira might be taken back by his ferocity and respect his strength, but he wouldn't have been able to sway her. She is not the kind of sexy bad girl he's into. Raiga likes girls who fight authority, not girls who are authority.

That said, I think an archetype like Kuvira could work in an opposites attract kind of way, order vs chaos, and maybe Raiga could come around to Kuvira after her redemption, but it would take a lot of time and effort for him to warm up to her.

Jargala - The leader of the Creeping Crystal triad from the Korra comics. I think Raiga would find her one of if not the most attractive ladies for both her looks and her personality, being sultry and dangerous but with nerves of steel. While he'd respect her confidence in the face of danger, her being a mob boss would sort of turn him off. Not because Raiga has any moral objections to crime, but mostly because he'd find Jargala's goals to be overall petty and beneath him, or just pointless to a spirit. I think Jargala might be intrigued by Raiga's power and seek to get him on her side. If she was more developed I could say more, but I think they'd be attracted to each other even when they're against each other. Maybe a sort of friends with benefits situation, but I don't think Jargala could help Raiga with his deep seated sense of loneliness from what we've seen.

Had an idea that even if they didn't end up together, they would still have a child. Said child would have the same spirit animal powers and Jargala would raise them into her successor, her ambitions growing. This would become a problem for both Korra and Raiga in the future, but I think Raiga and Jargala would both love their kid.

Kyoshi - Now this is is different; Kyoshi is one of the people Raiga knew while he was human, and he knew her the longest since he'd have been alive as long as she was for over a century. While he didn't fall in love with her, and he was sometimes her enemy, they would have shared a bond as immortals. When she died he became extremely depressed over having lost the one person who had stayed in his life long after so many others had died.

Couple of other things; I've considered his relationship with spirits like the Painted Lady and Yue the Moon Spirit, and while they may also be immortal, because Raiga is still half human he is tied to the physical world and can't really be with them, not unless he were to turn full spirit somehow, possibly through death.

I also still need to read the Dawn of Yangchen, so maybe I might even start Raiga's journey during her era instead of Kyoshi's.

What activities do you think Red and Liz do together as a hobby? What's their domestic scene like? I have a head full of things I imagine them doing together.

I imagine park walking (perhaps a dog Liz and Agnes persuaded Red around) is a given, Red regaling them with tales and knowledge. Slow dancing by a fire place lit room, with little Agnes pouting on the side lines cause she's wanting a dance with her daddy and we know Red wouldn't be able to refuse her. Red teaches Agnes everything he knows some of which Liz scolds him cause it's probably skills that would never be needed.

But Red likes his little girl to be prepared. Red and Liz also love taking pictures and making home videos. Red scrapbooks the pictures they take while Liz manages the home movie reels. It's a fun thing for the family to do.

Red probably takes on cooking, cleaning and other house keeping/maintenance duties cause he's the mother hen of their little family. And also because he's just a domestic god and Liz appreciates it. Red tinkers away in his workshop, he probably does some woodworking or some sort of crafts. Liz often tries her hand at them, but isn't very successful.

Red and Liz probably spend afternoons just in the comfort of each other's presence and silence. Reading books recommended by the other in their little book nook in their library that they all love.

I imagine Liz and Agnes trying to get Red to like some of the contemporary pop music but Red still insists he prefers the classics, jazz, standards. He probably does secretly likes some of the modern music he's been forced to listen but he'd never admit that.

And there's probably regular game nights for Red, Liz and Agnes. The girls like to gang up on Red, beating him in many games. He doesn't like losing so many times, but Agnes has him wrapped around her little finger. Liz has sway over him too. So the boy is powerless against his two special ladies.

Ooooh, anon, domestic!Lizzington headcanons, my favorite!! 😍 I'm certainly flattered that you asked, but I almost don't want to add anything to all the lovely things you described here!! 😂 I mean... Liz & Agnes convincing Red to get a dog (not that I think it would take much convincing, he's such an animal lover, the softie) is adorable. Agnes seeing her parents dancing & giving Red the Patented Puppy Dog Eyes until Red asks her for a dance & she gets twirled around the living room standing on her daddy's feet while Liz looks on with tears in her eyes. Red teaching an older Agnes how to pick a lock & hot wire a car, which drives Liz crazy, but she grudgingly admits it may be useful & Red pointing out that Sam taught her when she was younger than Agnes. Liz taking videos of Red & Agnes playing on her phone & showing Red how take pictures while he prefers the old-fashioned way of getting them developed & printed & framed for their house. Mother-Hen/Domestic-God!Red cooking Liz & Agnes's favorite meals & teaching them both a little about baking, flicking flour & powered sugar & soap bubbles with Agnes & - once she goes to bed - making a different kind of kitchen mess with Liz. Red doing his crafts & wood-working & mechanical tinkering while Agnes sits on his lap so she can watch & learn & Liz keeps them company, maybe doing some simple knitting or sewing or just reading or pretending to read while actually watching her daughter & husband being adorable. Speaking of reading, of course they would have a beautiful library, maybe with a window seat or a spiral staircase to a lovely "little book nook" as you so beautifully put it, anon, somewhere for Red & Liz to read quietly together or one of them to read Agnes her bedtime stories. Liz & Agnes dancing around the house to pop music on the radio while Red tries not to smile & join in, professing his only musical love is for playing jazz on the record player in the library but secretly liking that Carly Rae Jepson song about someone maybe calling somebody. And omg, game nights. Absolutely. Red adores being beaten by his girls & can only smile & shake hands as Agnes & Lizzie crow with victory, while - once Agnes goes to bed - he & Lizzie get playfully competitive with strip poker or some other adult game. Can Aspros and Defteros sing? How well do they sing?

♚— Hm! A curious thing to think about.

Well, I have a long-ago, rarely brought-up headcanon that Aspros can play the piano (or the 1700s equivalent of that) Here are two examples of the headcanon in action.

Albeit, in his adult years, he's gotten rusty with it since he's slowly lost the time to delve into his innocent hobbies. However, I'd imagine because of his training with the musical instrument, he'd develop an ear for music. Would that bleed into him singing? Maybe.

I wouldn't say Aspros is an outstanding and fantastic singer. Moderately average, perhaps. But you'd probably only catch him humming tunes from Mozart, Bach, Gluck, or some other classical tune since I doubt the man would dare attempt opera.

But if he did mutter some words of some opera he saw once or twice, it's probably like a not-so-opeara-y rendition--one that doesn't strain his vocal cords and can be quietly muttered under his breath... But in order for you to catch him doing that much, he must reaaaaaaaaaaaally not know you're there. I'm sure he wouldn't even mutter a song around his brother, since it'd be an extremely private, absentminded occurrence. And even then, I'd imagine his singing voice would be average--what would be outstanding would be the soft, non-opera-y 'rearrangement' of the selected song.

But most of the time, he'd just hum.

♚— Defteros, on the other hand... Well, I guess it depends on when you catch him? Either way, like with Aspros, he's not an opera singer, so he's not gonna break himself attempting that. But, overall, Defteros has a deeper voice than Aspros, so keep that in mind.

Like, if it's before his brother's death, he hasn't destroyed his throat yet so perhaps he'd also hum a bit of music that he's heard his brother unconsciously hum while writing reports. But only if he's reaaaally absentminded and in a veeeery private place. I mean, after all, Defteros needs to stay as quiet as a mouse in order to remain hidden, so I doubt he'd make too much noise even if he had a song stuck in his head. But even then, I'd imagine that Defteros doesn't like showing that side of himself, so if you ever catch him humming, he's probably very relaxed and unsuspecting.

After Aspros' death though... Well, he damaged his voice box because of all of the yelling and projecting. I wouldn't say he had completely given up humming during his personal, oblivious moments (e.g.: whenever he bathes), but it would certainly be super rare. I'd imagine the scratch in his throat would bother him too much and he'd end up coughing to relieve the itch. It would be bothersome.

For both 'when's, though, I would imagine he would have a magnetic pull to his voice because of how deep it is, even if he's dull with his musical inclination (I believe he's more of a mimicker in that area, so he only picks up on what he heard from his brother). He loves listening to the sound of the piano, but he has no skill in the department. So, if he's a "good singer", it's because he's mimicking how his brother "sang" it because, otherwise, he's a bit...off-key.

And forget about him muttering lyrics. The man doesn't even know what the fuck opera is (since I'd imagine his hermit lifestyle would prevent him from attending such arts in person) or, if he did, he wouldn't know the words (since he isn't fluent in foreign languages). The most Defteros'll ever do is a hum, and that itself is a very rare thing.
