#rambling #they're like wes anderson if someone drained all of the authentic whimsy and love for humanity out of him #and all that was left was a void of smug cheap shots #I'm probably being overly harsh but I watched burn after reading last night and I found it insufferable #no country for old men is philosophically bankrupt #they hate their characters so why should they expect me to care at all about what happens to those characters #like how do you even manage to make an adaptation of macbeth that's devoid of drama #and don't even get me started on nomadland that movie is straight up vile #and stylistically a terrence malick homunculus
