Girl how are you sweeet ahsjjsjsjs i'm so happy you're interested in my country!! Yes most people don't even know it exists!(i get why but its nice to find someone who cares about it!!) If you ever have something specific you want to know about Georgia/Georgian, you are always welcome to ask me 😌 we do have many similarities/we share the obsession with italian and i also love eleanor from skam italia😭 anyways, thank you for being this kind you've made me so happy💗💗
oh my gosh, girl you’re also super sweet and wonderful oh my!! i love the energy you exude; it’s so calming and relaxing and it seems like we’d get along really well. i absolutely love learning about different countries and cultures and especially those countries, like georgia, that aren’t always known by a lot of people and you don’t hear about often like it’s just so fascinating to learn about them!! it really is my passion and life purpose like there’s no doubt about it. the only things that i know about georgia currently is that its capital is tbilisi and also that the most famous albino guy named bera is from there!! he’s such a lovely person oh my goodness like i watched the video he did with drew binsky and also some of his tiktoks with his wife and they’re such an angelic couple!! it’s like they’re characters from a fairytale honestly, it’s so stunning. and yes, i will most definitely reach out to you when i have curiosities about georgia!! it’s really nice to know that i know someone who i can associate with the country now and to always reach out if i have any questions that may come through my mind so i’m so glad that i’ve met you! and OH MY GOSH. YES. ELEONORA/BENEDETTA GARGARI FROM SKAM ITALIA IS MY ACTUAL QUEEN. last year, when i first started my studyblr and until i returned this year on july, she was my icon for so long like she was my og studyblr icon and so many people thought that i was her at first (which was, you know, an absolute honor and accomplishment) and she’s just so beautiful and lovely and phenomenal!! when i returned, i decided i wanted to change it up a bit and went with noora, but eleonora will always have a soft spot in my heart!! and especially now that i’m incredibly in love with italy and have realized my true calling like she is literally just a whole angel!! i’m only halfway through skam italia and haven’t even gotten to her season yet (by the way, giancarlo commare is the top tier italian boy like wow but also lorenzo zurzolo from under the riccione sun kinda owns my heart too so uh oops), but i’m so excited! i’m gonna put off watching it because i want to watch it when i learn more italian and feel more confident in it so i can use it as a way to practice the language more rather than just for my own entertainment and satisfaction!! but i honestly cannot wait like my heart has been craving to watch skam italia so bad (i even convinced italian boy to start watching it oop), but i shall wait!! i wish us both good luck in our italian journey, my lovely!! and i cannot wait to see more of your beautiful posts blessing my dash!! i’m so glad that i can make you happy like that honestly makes me feel so happy to know and, please, feel free to drop by anytime to talk to me about anything!! i feel like you and i would make such great friends 🤍✨

Miraculous : The Reveal : a Phone Call Away
Marinette ran up the stairs wiping her tears after she heard the bad news. She was moving to Shanghai! Even though she had an amazing adventure with Fei and Cat noir, moving to Shanghai would mean she can’t be ladybug anymore!
“Tikki, I don't know what to do! I can’t be ladybug and the guardian from Shanghai! It’s all too much. I can't take it anymore!” She sobs. *Ring Ring* “Oh Alya is calling.” Marinette says as she wipes her tears.
“Hey Girl, I heard the news. I’m coming over right now stay there!” *beep* Alya hung up the phone.
Meanwhile in the Agrete Estate…..
“Father Please! I don’t want to go to boarding school! I have friends! If i go there I will only be with a bunch of rich snobs!” Adrien pleaded.
“I have made my decision. You leave in a few weeks.” Gabriel told him sternly. After the door closed Plagg came out and started panicking!
“This is bad, you can’t leave. Who will feed me my Camembert!” Plagg cried as Adrien looked at him with an annoyed face. “But the truth is that I will miss you 100 times more than Camembert. You're the best Cat Noir I’ve ever had. Plagg said and hugged Adrien.
“Woah Plagg I’ve never seen this side of you before! It’s so not you!” Adrien explained happily. “We should get going, It’s almost time for patrol with M’lady!”
Back to Marinette’s……..
“What do I do Alya? This is way too much to handle. And if-if-if I move there I’ll have to take Cat noir’s miraculous because I can’t leave him to protect Hawkmoth alone. I can’t even leave you! You still need training! An-“ Marinette get cutt of by Alya.
“Relax, Girl you’ll figure it out! You hid your secret identity from me for a long time. And I’m a reporter! You fought Shadowmoth hundreds of times you beat him even when it all seemed lost.”
“I don’t know how I did it! I was alone! I couldn't tell anyone about how much pressure I was under! And now Master Fu has lost his memory! I just can’t take it anymore!”
“Marinette, listen to me. You might not realize it but you did have someone to talk to, Chat noir. He knows you the best. And he’s cute too!”
“You don't mean that '' giggled Marinette “But you’re right he was there for me all this time, I just never took the time to see underneath his silliness, that reminds me I was supposed to get him a gift for his birthday! I have just the thing. “Marinette ran to her secret stash of gifts for Adrien and pulled out a black and green wrapped book. Marinette transformed and swung here yo-yo to the secret spot where she and Cat noir meet before every Patrol.
“M’lady you made it!” Cat noir exclaimed
“Of course! How could I miss your birthday patrol, Kitty!” Ladybug said as she started into his green eyes. “Have they alway been that shade of green?” She thought as she felt herself start to blush.
“What’s in the box? A tiny bed for Plagg? Or maybe it’s a book?” He said curiously.
“Actually you’re right, Kitty. It’s a memory book. I got pictures of our best moments and put them inside.” She said as she hoped he would like it.
“…” Chat noir was silent
“ You don't like it do you.” Ladybug said sadly.
“No, I Love it! It’s so amazing! But why are there empty pages?”he questioned.
“ Those are for new memories. For the future!” Ladybug said as she remembered she had to tell him the bad news.
“ M’lady there is something I need to tell you. I can’t be Cat noir anymore.” Cat noir said as he started sobbing.
“Cat noir? I-I-I can’t be ladybug either.” She sobbed. “My parents decided to move out of Paris and I can't do anything about it.”
“Why does this have to happen to me? M'lady I’m so unlucky, you don’t even know how hard my life is! And now I have to give it all up! And for what! So my Father Can be Happy!” Cat noir sobbed even louder.
“Cat Noir I- I don't know what to say. I-I” Ladybug got cut off by her alarm and said “ I‘m sorry Cat noir, See you tomorrow, same time?”
“Same time” he sighed and wiped his tears.
The next day the both got ready for School having to tell everyone that they are leaving. Right before Marinette entered the school she tripped on a rock.
“ Woah! You Better watch where you’re going!” Adrien said as he helped Marinette up.
“DUPAN-CHANG! GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY ADRIKINS!” Chloe screamed loudly across the school.
“Hey Chloe. I’ve had enough of you picking on me! All you do is hurt everyone! But I’m not going to yell and tell you off.” Marinette said “I believe that you have an amazing person inside of you. All you have to do is let her out.” Marinette said as she tried to hold in her tears from the news she still had to tell. “Hey you guys, I’ve got bad news. I’m moving to Shanghai!”
*Gasp* Everyone was shocked.
“Oh no” said Rose “Marinette you're the best Marinette ever! You can’t go!”
“What!” Exclaimed Adrien “I have to move too!”
“ How is that possible!” Marinette thought “Me, Cat noir, AND Adrien are all moving! That’s crazy” After school marinette went home to get some packing done with Alya. They packed and talked. They also tried some new power up recipes. Then Alya accidently released the kwami’s, but them got them all back. Around 9 Alya went home and Marinette went to bed. When Marinette fell asleep Plagg came inside.
“Tikki, what are we going to do! This can’t be happening. Paris will be destroyed! And it won’t be my fault this time!” Plagg ranted
“Plagg! Calm down! Marinette will figure something out.” Tikki explained.
“Bye Tikki!” Plagg yelled.
“Bye Plagg!” Tikki yelled back.
In the morning at Adrien’s house…
“Isn’t that weird Plagg? M’lady and Marinette are both moving.” Asked Adrien.
“Nah this is all rotten cheese. Marinette can’t possibly be Ladybug! She’s Multi-mouse remember?” Plagg answered as he ate his cheese.
“You’re right.” Sighed adrien “I guess i have to continue packing.”
“Adrien, these are your last weeks in Paris, enjoy them! And they’re you last weeks with me” play said as he started tearing up.
“Plagg, come here! I want to give you a hug!” Adrien said as he started to chase Plagg around the room.
“YOU WILL NEVER GET ME ALIVE!” Exclaimed Plagg.
Later that day…..
“Plagg, Claws out!” Adrien quietly whispered the transformation words as he went to fight Mr.Pigeon. Again.
“Hello M’lady! Looks like we got ourselves a Fur-miliar friend!” Cat Noir exclaimed as he got into his battle pose.
“I’m Glad you’re here kitty!” Ladybug replied. “You know what to do!” Soon they defeated the villain and captured its akuma.
“M’lady Great Job out there! I would’ve never guessed that he would give the akumatized object to one of the pigeons! You deserve an ap-paw-se(applause)!” Chat noir emphasized.
“Thanks Cat noir! You too! We would’ve lost if it wasn't for your idea to scare the pigeons.” Exclaimed ladybug. *BEEP BEEP BEEP* “I better get going! I can't show you my identity. Bug out!”
“WHEEEEEE” Cat noir exclaimed as he swung through Paris. He landed inside his bathroom and de-transformed. “Plagg, why does it smell like your cheese inside my shower?”
“Well I had to age my cheese somewhere! In my defense it said to put it in a glass container!” Plagg Blabbed. Adrien sighed and went to shower. Then he had a thought. “It sure is weird that marinette and ladybug are both moving! I mean they are pretty similar. No but Marinette is clumsy. BUT! No, that can’t be true.”
“Adrien you have a photo shoot in 30 minutes! You have 10 minutes to get ready!” Nathalie Told him. Adrien nodded and got ready. He drove to his photo shoot and saw Marinette hide on her balcony.
“Why would Marinette need to hi-” Adrien was cut off by a red flash. Then Ladybug flew off Marinette's balcony! “OMG OMG OMG MARINETTE IS LADYBUG! I CAN”T TELL HER THAT THEN SHE WON’T BE ABLE TO FIGHT! Oh but I really want to tell her now because Marinette is already so amazing. And her being ladybug is 100 times more amazing! Wait if she transformed that means there is an akuma attack!” Thought adrien. “Ahh there is an akuma attack! He exclaimed and ran to transform. “At least it's not Mr.Pigeon!” Chat noir chuckled as ladybug gave him a new look. “I’ve never seen that look before mar-Ladybug” Cat noir stuttered. “Oh shoot. I almost called her Marinette”
“Uh-um what look!?” Ladybug quickly responded. They quickly found a way to defeat the villain and its sentimonster. They said their goodbyes and went opposite ways. “Cat noir? Wait i-”
“Claws in” Adrien said as ran out of the ally.
“B-b-bwahhhhhhhhh… ADRIEN AGRESTE, MY ADRIEN AGREST, IS MY PARTNER. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I loved and hated Adrien or cat noir! I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO CALL HIM ANYMORE!” Marinette panicked. “Tikki…..”she whined.
“Marinette, it was time you knew. You are the Guardian after all!” Tikki replied.
They kept the secret from each other for almost a month. Adrien packed for larding School. While Marinette slowly packed her room. Everyone was slowly saying their goodbyes. Until one day…
“I’m leaving tomorrow M’lady! I can’t keep my miraculous anymore if I’m leaving for America!” Cat noir confessed!
“Cat noir! Don’t say that! We’ll figure it out!” Ladybug pleaded.
“Plagg, I renounce you.” Cat noir said as he teared up. “I’m sorry Marinette..”
“M-marinette…You know!? Adrein I know too..” Ladybug Cried.
Meanwhile…..
“I knew they were solemates since that time Alex got akumatized.” Luka said as he held up his ship flag. Marinette detransformed And ran up to him crying.
“I’m so glad it you, Cat noir” She said crying.
“Marinette? Me too! I mean you're amazing both way! Marinette is amazing. Ladybug is amazing. And you’re both! Like that's Pawsome!”
“Hehehehe” Marinette giggled “But what is going to happen now? I’m moving to Shanghai, and you……”
“Well? I’ll only be a phone call away. Besides that? I want to ask you something.” Adrein said happily
“And what is that, Kitty?” Marinette flirted
“Will you be my girlfriend, M’lady?” Cat noir asked eagerly
“ Will I? Of course I will! Now I need to tell Alya! She will never believe me.” Marinette exclaimed.
At school….
“OH MY GOD! GIRLS IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!” Alya yelled. “Marinette! WHAT IS THIS! WHAT IS GOING ON! Did you actually…You know.. tell him.”
“ I told him everything! EVERYTHING And I mean EVERYTHING” Marinette said.
“YOU DID NOT, I swear girl, if you did …..”Alya continued.
“ He’s my soulmate. HE’S CAT NOIR!!” Marinette whispered.
“…. WHATTTTTTTT” Alya screamed. “GIrl you need to fill me in tonight! We're gonna have a girls night!”
“Shall we get to class, M'lady!” Said Adrien
“We shall! Kitty!” Marinette said. Marinette couldn’t believe she had finally found her kitty. Adrien was beyond excited that he found his love. Later that night at Marinette house. “ Alya I think it’s time.” Marinette said reluctantly.
“You don’t mean..” Alya started
“I do! If I’m not going to be ladybug anymore then it’s time they know.” Marinette confidently walked down the stairs and sat her parents down at the table. “ Mom, Dad I have something important to tell you. Actually 2 things. Well the first is that I have a boyfriend!” She said excitedly.
“Omg Marinette! Who is it!” Her parents blurted out.
“ It’s Adrien Agreste, actually!” Marinette said super fast.
“…WERE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!” Her mom said as she teared up.
“My daughter! The girlfriend of a supermodel” her dad said as he was crying.
“But there is one more thing…I’m Ladybug.” She confessed.
“Wait… Hold on, you are ladybug!? That’s why you're always missing your classes and late all the time! You’re saving Paris! I’m so proud-” Sabine exclaimed before Tom interrupted her.
“My daughter is the girlfriend of a model AND is a superhero! She can’t get any better than that!” Tom told her.
“Actually.. I can’t be Ladybug if I live in Shanghai. I don’t know what to to. It’s all so hard! You have no idea how hard it was lying to you all the time! And all for nothing!” Marinette broke down in front of her parents.
“Marinette, sweetie, You are not alone anymore. Even if we move, Paris will be safe. ShadowMoth might attack one or twice but when he realizes that you're not here he will stop.” Sabine comforted her. Marinette still had to move, but she was more sure of herself.
At the Agreste Estate….
“I finally feel complete. I found my true love! My father might not know any of this but I can do anything without him. Tomorrow I have to leave, but at least I’ll have Marinette.” Adrien sighed. Nathalie came in and told him goodbye and that his bodyguard would take him to the train station tomorrow morning. He nodded and went to bed.
The next morning at the Train Station….
“Bye Adrien! I’ll miss ya Dude!” Nino said and gave him a fist bump.
“Goodbye Adrien. Hope I will see YOU soon.*Wink” Alya smirked
“Bye!” Rose said.
“Yeah.. bye adrien..” mumbled juleka.
“Bye Adrien!” Said the rest of his friends Unanimously.
“Wait….Where’s Marinette?” Adrien questioned as he looked for her.
“Mgh” His bodyguard grunted singling for him it was time to go.Before Adrein stopped onto the train Marinette came running to him.
“Marinette! You made it! I thought you didn’t wanna come!” Adrien exclaimed!
“Adrien Agreste. Here is the Miraculous of the Black Cat. It grants you the power of destruction. You will use it for the greater good.” Marinette smiled and handed him the ring. He grinned so much everyone was confused.
“What’s that? Ooh, is it a special couples thing!” Rose asked.
“Yeah what is it! Everyone asked. They looked at each other and knew it was time.
*Cue Miraculous instrumental theme song*
“Tikki! Spots On!” Marinette exclaimed while Adrien said “Plagg! Claws out!” They decided it was time the world knew because if they knew each other’s identities they could protect one another. Sooner or later Marinette went off to live in Shanghai. But like Adrien said “I’ll always be a phone call away.”

For Sweet Cookies and Almost-Dates
Sheena wants to ask Colette out on a date. Zelos tries to help. But Sheena is just that good at self-sabotaging.
Fandom: Tales of Symphonia Characters/Pairing: Sheena Fujibayashi/Colette Brunel, Zelos Wilder, Raine Sage Rating: G Mirror Link: AO3 Notes: Made for @talesfemslashweek and the first prompt! Cookies - First Love. I wrote this as very silly, forgive me.
---
“Sheena, babe. It’s now or never.”
“I know what I’m doing, okay?! And don't call me that!” Sheena gripped her arms tight, pacing back and forth inside the house. Not like her status as Chief allowed her much time for luxury, and with some of her friends visiting Mizuho again, she couldn’t waste this opportunity.
Zelos sat on the floor, shifting every so often and so goddamn unused to Mizuho’s seating arrangements. “Seriously though. Little Angel’s only here for a bit anyway. Us former Chosens gotta reassure the new world and all.”
“Oh my god, just shut up.” Sheena pushed back her hair, knowing she messed it up again for the billionth time. “Okay, I’m ready. Now back off and don’t leer for once in your life.”
Zelos just shrugged, already prepared for Sheena to crash and burn.
---
“I’m just saying,” Raine was postulating, looking down at the outdoor grill set that some locals were using to cook up their fish supper. “If you add a nice confectionary taste to it… say some strawberry tarts, or some pudding, it would really balance well with the crispiness of the food.”
Usually where Genis would calm his sister down, Colette only approved of it, delightfully clapping her hands. “That’s such a creative idea, Professor!”
Sheena, who was just a few feet away, ignored the nightmarish dinner suggestion, and walked straight up to the ex-Chosen girl. “Hey.”
Colette turned around, her smile never wavering. “Sheena! It’s been so long. Sorry, we were both just traveling so much, or we would have visited sooner.”
“Oh, that’s um, that’s not a problem at all!” Sheena responded with too high of a voice. She cleared her throat. “Not like I wasn’t busy being Chief and all! I don’t think even Lloyd and Genis have stopped by yet.”
“Oh, that’s right. They’re really working hard on gathering the Exspheres!”
If they continued this conversation, Colette would just start talking about their friends and all they were doing, all while Raine side-eyed with some suspicion. But she would stand her ground. She would do what she came to do, what she had wanted to ever since Colette had kindly asked for her name despite being marked for assassination.
Colette, would you like to go out with me? Like, to have lunch? In, in a date kind of way? Not just as friends. Unless you want us to be friends? W-why am I messing up in my own fantasy?
“Colette.” She said suddenly, just dropping the name from her mouth like a lead weight. The addressed girl gave Sheena her full attention. Then blinked when nothing followed up.
Sheena started again. “Colette,” she said once more, but still… that was it.
“Um, yes, Sheena? I’m still here!”
God damn it she was so cute. Sheena took another breath, clenched her fists, and leaned forward to give it her all. “Colette!”
Colette flinched from the loudness of her voice. So did Raine, who frowned disapprovingly. “Excuse me, there is no need to shout.”
Faced with the Professor who never really trusted her, and the wondering eyes of the girl she liked, Sheena was faced with a decision that would define her from then on.
She hightailed it out of there, right in front of her friends and people.
---
“Man, Sheena. I didn’t think you’d blow it this bad…” Zelos shook his head, leaning away from one of the house’s windows once she came back in.
“You were watching!? I told you to lay off!”
“Clearly you need a master to show you the ropes. Here, lemme practice one of my best pick-up lines.” Zelos winked, flicking a strand of red hair over his shoulder. “Or I could just go over to angel face herself and demonstrate-”
“You’re going to do nothing to me, or to Colette, unless you want a knee to your stomach.” Sheena took another breath, loosening up her limbs as she prepared herself once again. “I can do this. So just… stop trying to make me feel bad about it.”
Zelos had a serious look on his face, all traces of his amusement gone. “Hey, I know you can do it, Sheena.” Then a grin. “But you can’t blame me for enjoying all the trial and error stuff going on, too! Ah, the beauty of first love~”
“Ugh.”
---
“Hello there, young lady! Are you here to buy my secret notebook?”
Colette shook her head. “Oh, that’s okay! I’m sure we got that the last time we were here, too!”
“Ah, I recognize you now!” The shopkeeper was the only one of his kind in Mizuho, though he still dressed in his traditional ninja garb as he doled out his deals. “Then that means you’re on the lookout for an assortment of secrets. Or maybe… you’re looking to be my new secretary? Eh?”
Colette blinked. “No, I don’t think so!”
“Well, I have all sorts of other secretive wares that you might be interested in-“
“Oh, a doggie!” Colette gasped at the little canine seated by the stall, a Shiba Inu with a wide smile and a short wagging tail.
“Ah, that’s my dog, Secretariat! Please no petting.”
How is he able to… do that actually? But Sheena had no time for worrying about mysterious shopkeepers and their weird way of talking. She walked up to Colette again, breathing out a sigh of relief when she saw that Raine was nowhere in sight.
Colette still had her good hearing though and turned quickly to Sheena. “Hi! I was wondering where you went!”
“Chief Sheena! Are you here to share some sec-”
“No thanks, I’m good.” Sheena closed her eyes for a moment, then faced Colette again. “Look, I just- I mean, um, I want to ask you something!”
“Oh, of course!” Colette waited there for Sheena’s question patiently.
The wind blew through the trees in the following awkward silence. Even the shopkeeper had to turn away, no longer so confident about his secret wares.
“Do you…uh…” Sheena’s mouth went dry instantly. Not even with Lloyd had she been this weird about it! “Do you… are you having fun traveling with Raine?” Why am I so bad at this?
Colette looked a bit surprised at the question, and… there was something else in her eyes. But it went away before Sheena could observe it better. For an information-gathering ninja, Sheena couldn’t really read people well, she realized…
“I have! It’s been so helpful having the Professor along when we’re traveling to the other cities. We’ve also been trying to help the half-elves we come across whenever we can.”
“That sounds good! Great!” Sheena said probably way too enthusiastically. “I mean, I think I might not do so well traveling with her myself, what with her cooking and all.” She kicked herself mentally for the comment. Why would Colette want to hear her trash talk about her own teacher?
“Oh, that’s fine. I actually…” Colette looked to the side, then leaned forward towards Sheena with a conspiratorial air. “I can control my tastebuds now, so it’s never bad when I eat her cooking! And it makes her happy, too!”
Dang, with that handy ability, they really did make the perfect traveling team. And also, just the way Colette tried to whisper her a secret was so adorable. She had to take her chance now.
“Hey, so, I got something else to tell you…” To prepare herself, she drew a big, deep breath.
And it was then that a giant bug flew right into her mouth. “Ack!”
Colette, worry etched in her features, held up her hands. “Oh! Are you okay?”
Not really, I just swallowed a bug! But she didn’t say that. She just continued to hack and cough.
The dog yipped loudly, and the shopkeeper stood back a little, probably weirded out by his Chief. Colette wasn’t moving away, however. She rushed to Sheena, placing gentle hands on her cheeks. Oh goddess oh what the hell she’s touching me she’s so close. “Just! Um, try to breathe! Should I get the Professor?”
Even after everything, Sheena still didn’t feel much affinity for Raine, but maybe that was better than dying because of a bug. This was so dumb! And gross!
But eventually, she turned away from Colette to cough out whatever bug that just decided to ruin everything. Just. Everything. But she didn’t see a bug? Did she swallow nothing? Like actual nothing?
Colette would have seen it, right? But she was still there, holding Sheena’s face in her soft hands. “Sheena?”
“W-water! Just! Um!” Sheena flinched, sneakily getting out of Colette’s hold like the top ninja village Chief she was! And then stumbled slightly as she did so. “I need water bye!”
Colette stayed in place, hands held over nothing as she watched Sheena bravely run away from her again.
---
“Hey, Sheena. Third time’s the charm, ain’t it?”
Once the ninja crawled out from under the tatami mat and her overwhelming embarrassment, she stood before Zelos and sighed. “I guess.”
Zelos was reaching into his pocket. “Here. This also swoons moi whenever the ladies do this for me!”
“That better not be a dirty euphemism, I swear to-”
“Some cookies! I mean, most people give me fish or whatever, but I remember Colette having a bit of a sweet tooth.” He tossed a small bundle of chocolate chip cookies to Sheena, who caught it deftly in her right hand despite being halfway deep in depression.
“I just give her this?” That seemed far too easy… So easy that even I can’t mess this up!
“Exactly,” Zelos then said as if he could read her mind? Could he read her mind? Please that would be a nightmare.
“Just give her the sweet cookies, and then go and sweet talk her. She’ll be all over you before you know it.”
Well, how could it get any worse?
---
What was it about Colette that she liked so much anyway?
Sheena had never connected well with anyone, certainly not in her village, even though it seemed most people accepted her now. And she definitely didn’t connect with that loud-mouthed Chosen, no matter what anyone thought! But even as she was ordered to slay Colette, something kept putting her off it (besides falling into pits).
One night, before joining Colette’s group, she had snuck into her room at an inn, kunai in hand, ready to slit her throat. But the moonlight had hit her hair in just a certain place, making Sheena blink rapidly. The girl had been pale, tucked deep underneath the covers and, for a short moment, Sheena had wanted to kiss her. Even Zelos wouldn’t have been this creepy.
But she had wanted to and had even reached out to stroke away a few strands of the girl’s hair from her face before she realized what she was doing. She had then promptly leapt out of the window in shame.
There had been other, less-weird happenings afterwards, such as sitting next to Colette by the campfire, or staying near her when the girl would stumble over a rock in their path… and then they’d both just fall over. Still, Colette never seemed to mind. The light feeling in her stomach always fluttered whenever Sheena was near her, zapping away at her voice.
Luckily, this would be a lot more different now. She would talk more! And just giving her some cookies wasn’t as weird. Or as creepy. Hopefully?
“Sheena! Are you okay now?” Colette was already rushing towards her before Sheena could prepare herself more. Had she been waiting? “I got so worried when you started choking…”
“It’s- it’s okay! Happens all the time.” Did I really just say that!? Sheena blushed, grasping the cookies tightly in her hand. “Colette, sorry, but I wanted to tell you something… and maybe it’ll be easier if I give you something instead.”
At that, she saw the wonder in Colette’s eyes, a soft smile lifting her cheeks. Even after all she had been through, she managed to be so excited and happy at times. Sheena couldn’t help but admire it fully. “You mean like a present?”
“Yeah, like that.” Okay, here goes. With a deep breath, Sheena raised up her hand that held the cookies, to present it to Colette with all the love she felt. This would be her first gift to Colette… maybe something they could even look back to, as they went on their date. Yes, she could do this! “Colette, will you go out-”
She flung the cookies straight past Colette’s head….
Straight past the small river that ran around the Chief’s house…
Straight past the startled shopkeeper tending to his not-so-secret dog…
…And right into Raine’s face as she walked up the path. Cookies exploded everywhere in a crumbly mess.
“Why do people keep throwing things at my head?!”
For the third time that day, Sheena ran away again past a wide-eyed Colette, basically stumbling into the swinging panel of the house head-first.
Even Zelos didn’t have the strength to make fun of her anymore.
---
“I’m an idiot and I should just die.”
“That’s more my line, you know,” Zelos was saying, but Sheena could tell his heart was not in it. The guy didn’t even laugh obnoxiously. That’s how she knew she messed up so badly.
She eventually was convinced to leave the house instead of burying herself under a kotatsu to wallow in her misery. Though getting a few stares here and there as she walked through the village, it was at the very least with amusement instead of vitriol? That counted for something?
Ugh, she still wanted to die though.
It was already time to say their goodbyes to Colette, and Sheena was less than thrilled. She couldn’t even force a smile. She had one task! Just one! And she couldn’t even do that. At least Zelos wasn’t making fun of her anymore. He looked about as disappointed as she was, occasionally patting her back in comfort without making it creepy. Even if he did, she didn’t have the energy to smack him anyway.
They both came near the village gates, where Raine saying something quickly to Colette, and Colette was talking back. Raine then shook her head, but Colette looked so adamant, until the Professor could only shrug. This was followed by Colette rushing over to Sheena.
“Sheena!” she shouted so suddenly, it brought the ninja out of her funk.
“Uh-”
“I have something to ask you! Um, would you, um, would you please go out with me? Like on a date, I mean? Like more than friends? But just friends is fine too…”
“I uh-”
“I think you’re very nice and so much fun, and you’re always looking out for me! If it’s okay, could we maybe go out to Meltokio next week? There’s supposed to be a festival and I’d like to be with you for that!”
“I…I…uh…”
Zelos nudged Sheena in the ribs. “Say yes, idiot,” he hissed.
“Um! Y-yes!”
Colette smiled wide at that. She even did a little hop on her toes at the answer. “That’s great! So, I will see you there next week? Or should I come here?”
“Uh.. uhhhh-”
“The Chief here would love to be picked up by her angel, as long as you both got some Rheiards!” Zelos said helpfully.
“Okay! I will be here next week! I’m so excited!” Colette reached out for a hug, which Sheena only had enough sense to return. Then once she stepped back, Colette gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Both were soon blushing fiercely.
“Ah, sorry! I just… got a little carried away.” Colette smiled nervously, but still so cutely. “I’ll see you later!” Then in a whisper. “M-maybe we can have some cookies at the festival…”
Soon she ran off back to Raine, who while clearly not approving, gave her precious student a gentle smile for her initiative.
Once both left, Sheena was still standing there, stunned.
Zelos patted her back again, this time with a little more enthusiasm. “Guess you got lucky there.”
Yeah. Yeah she did, and she was so glad for it.

new to this
This is 4000 words Max + Lucas friendship with a lot of Max/Dustin and Will/Lucas background. It takes place when they’re around sophomores in high school.
Max’s elbow was stinging like a son of a bitch and her wrist was aching and it was all because of Dustin Henderson. Dustin fucking Henderson and his stupid smile.
“Shit, shit,” Dustin muttered as he threw down his bike on the grass and knelt beside her, looking at her arm in concern. She’d always loved teasing him about how serious he got about injuries, always calling him Nurse Dustin for fun (even though she really did think he’d be a good nurse). But now she didn’t find it funny at all, not when he was making it worse by making it nearly impossible for her to breathe properly.
It had been a stupid mistake. She knew how to do that trick; she’d mastered it earlier that week and gotten it down perfectly. But she’d made the terrible and foolish decision of looking over at Dustin in the midst of the execution, and suddenly all she could think about was wow, how have I never noticed his dimples before?!
And then her board had hit the ground without her feet and then all she’d been thinking was shit I’m about to fall and then she’d done just that.
Max startled when Dustin reached out for her arm. He inspected it closely, dusting off some of the dirt and gravel that had stuck to it, and she just stared at him with wide eyes. He was so close to her and she felt like she was going to pass out.
“You should come inside, Mrs. Wheeler can--” Dustin started, but Max was speaking over him quickly.
“No!” She exclaimed, making Dustin look at her in surprise. She blinked at the eye contact before shaking her head and scrambling to her feet. Her elbow was still burning, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle. Like hell she was going to do anything that didn't involve getting the hell away from Dustin’s concerned expression. “It’s just… you guys should really work on that project. Will and Mike are waiting for you, and you don’t wanna fail. I was going to go to Lucas’ anyway, I can just wash it off over there.”
Dustin frowned and tilted his head at her like a puppy. “You sure?” he asked, sounding almost disappointed, and Max could barely meet his eyes.
“Yep,” she replied quickly, grabbing her board off the ground. “Good luck you guys!”
She turned and walked quickly to the blue house across the cul-de-sac, tensing when she heard Dustin yell out a “bye!” after her. Without looking back, she raised a hand in farewell, hoping he was already making his way into the Wheeler’s house.
His stupid eyes and his stupid hair and his stupid smile.
She didn’t waste any time in knocking at the brown door of the Sinclair’s house, praying someone would answer quickly so she wouldn’t have to wait out here any longer.
“Oh, hello Max!” Dana Sinclair greeted happily as she opened the door, smiling down at her. Max gave a strained smile as she stared up at the tall woman. Despite how much her son had grown recently, he still hadn’t surpassed his mother, much to Lucas’ frustration and his friends’ amusement. “Are you joining us for dinner? We’re having chicken parmesan.”
“Hey Dana,” Max replied sheepishly. She was still reeling from earlier, and she tried to quickly gather her thoughts “Um, I actually was just in the neighborhood and I sorta fell? Do you have a Band-Aid?”
She raised up her elbow in explanation. Dana frowned momentarily before softening into an amused smile and gesturing inside.
“You kids never stop hurting yourselves do you?” She asked as she led Max into the front bathroom and rifled around in the cabinets. She turned on the tap water, gesturing for Max to wash off her scrape. “Lucas bruised his head climbing that tree not four days ago, it’s ridiculous.”
Max hid a smirk, knowing very well that Lucas had gotten that bruise climbing Will Byers’ window, not a tree, but she wasn’t about to spill that.
“Hey Mom, where’s the-- Max?” Lucas said from the doorway. Her eyes flew to her friend’s, who frowned over at her. “What the hell happened to your arm?”
She shrugged quickly, blushing slightly despite herself. “Fell off my board.”
Lucas chuckled, shaking his head. “Loser,” he shot out happily. Dana just rolled her eyes. Max knew she was more than used to the way they talked to each other. “You going over to Mike’s after this? I was thinking about hanging out over there, since Dustin and Will are over there anyway.”
“No!” Max exclaimed loudly, bringing both of the Sinclair’s eyes to her. She blushed at the attention, feeling embarrassed once again by her sudden exclamations. “I just… I haven’t gotten to eat over here in a while, and the others are still working on that English project so…”
She faded off, hoping the excuse was good enough. Lucas looked at her for a long time, and she tried to get her point across through simple eye contact. After a second he looked away, having given in. “Okay, whatever.”
Dana gave her an odd look but didn’t push, instead fishing out a bandage and finishing the job.
Dinner at the Sinclairs was amazing, as usual. Max always joked about liking Lucas’ parents more than she liked him, but even if it were true, it wouldn’t be without reason. Samuel Sinclair was one of the few men Max had ever come to truly respect in her life, managing to be both levelheaded and interesting at the same time. And Max honestly loved Dana Sinclair-- she was the first mother to actually give a damn about her and not read into her background, and Max would never forget that. Dana had once told Max she reminded her of her younger self, and Max had almost passed out from pride.
Lucas hadn’t talked much during dinner, instead spending most of his time trying to catch Max’s eye and give her weird glances. He clearly knew something was up with her, and she found herself annoyed that he knew her moods that well.
After helping load the dishwasher, Max finally let herself be pulled out of the room by Lucas.
“So, you’re acting weirder than usual,” Lucas said as soon as they were in his room. “Spill.”
Max glared at him and flopped down on his bed. “It’s not a big deal.”
Lucas just gave her a look and sat down on the other end of the mattress without a word.
They glared at each other for a long moment before Max finally broke. She looked away and stared at the bed as she played absentmindedly with the sheets.
“I…” She couldn’t the words so she decided suddenly to change tactics. “How did you know you liked Will?”
Lucas startled at the question, obviously surprised. “What?”
“Well it’s not like you always liked him like that,” Max pointed out. She made sure to keep her voice down so his parents wouldn’t overhear. “So how did you know you wanted to be more than friends with him?”
Lucas looked slightly uncomfortable at the topic-- he never much liked talking about what he had with Will, and Max wondered if they’d even really talked about it. Max felt like they were still in that stage of mutual affection with zero communication.
“I dunno,” Lucas answered with a frown. “I mean, it just sorta happened.”
Max frowned and decided to change her question.
“How did you know it was worth it, though?” Max asked. “I mean, aren’t you scared about risking what you already had?”
Lucas swallowed, looking uncomfortable. Max got the feeling he really was scared about that, and felt a twinge of regret at having asked.
“I guess, I mean--” Lucas broke off, giving a short shrug. “I trust Will. I know even if things didn’t work out, we wouldn’t lose everything. And it is worth it, I think. He’s worth it.”
Max was surprised at the answer. Lucas rarely talked that way about anything, and Max kept it in mind that she was really going to have to bug him for more information about him and Will later. But now Lucas was blinking up at her, looking suspicious.
Lucas blinked rapidly. “What is this about, anyway?”
Max blanched, feeling suddenly in the spotlight. She pulled a fluffy pillow in her lap, needing something to hold onto when she spoke up again.
“What if… what if someone liked someone else, you know like-- well, you know. But they were friends, and that person didn’t like that other person back, but they--”
“Okay, okay, hold on,” Lucas cut in, raising a hand. Max stopped talking immediately, her eyes shooting up to meet him, scared that he’d already figured it out. Lucas was frowning deeply and shook his head at her. “You’re giving me a headache with all those pronouns. I’m guessing you’re one of the ‘someone’s’ right?”
Max flushed hotly but gave a short nod, waiting for Lucas to continue.
“And the other person is a friend?” A nod. “One of our friends?” Another nod, though less confident.
“So, Dustin.” Lucas said.
Max felt her heart stop.
“What?! No, I--” she broke off at Lucas’ unimpressed look. He knew her way too well for her to get away with this lie. The fight left her and she slumped down, pulling at her hair in irritation. “How'd you know?”
Lucas snorted. “Dustin is the only one of us who gives actually decent relationship advice. If you had any sense you'd be talking to him about this, unless, obviously, it was about him.”
Max slumped in on herself even further, feeling embarrassed and dramatic. “Shit,” she whispered, only to regret it since she’d come to relate that word to Dustin.
Lucas gave her a sympathetic look. “When did you figure it out?”
Max sighed. “Today. Right before I came over.”
“Oh, that makes sense,” Lucas said with a nod. He scrunched up his face like he was thinking hard. “Does Dustin know?”
“No!” Max exclaimed immediately before a terrible thought occurred to her. “Oh god, do you think he knows? Oh god.”
She hid her face in her hands. Why did people have crushes?! What good could possibly come from feeling this embarrassed and terrible?
“Max, calm down,” Lucas said with a slight chuckle. “It’s okay. It’s not like Dustin expects anything from you, he knows you don’t have to like him back or anything, he’s not gonna get mad if you don’t.”
Max froze, looking up slowly. “What did you just say?”
Lucas frowned, looking incredibly lost. “Well, I mean, he won’t be angry. He’s liked you for years--”
“Dustin-- likes me?!” Max exclaimed, nearly slipping off the bed. Lucas jumped, clearly taken aback by the exclamation.
“Well, yeah, isn’t that what we’ve been talking about this whole conversation?” Lucas threw back, looking around the room as if searching for someone to back him up.
“No,” Max emphasized. Her head was still spinning. Dustin liked… her? “We’ve been talking about me.”
“What do you mean we’ve been talking about you? I asked if it was Dustin, and--” Lucas broke off and a look of revelation came over his face. “Oh.”
“Oh my god,” Max groaned. She grabbed one of Lucas’ pillows and pressed it over her face. She wondered briefly how long it’d take her to smother herself.
“Oh,” Lucas repeated. “Well, maybe forget what I said a few seconds ago.”
Max pulled the pillow down, fixing him with a glare. Lucas looked rather sheepish at the spilled secret, but Max wasn’t letting him off the hook. “Dustin can’t possibly like me. There’s no way.”
“Are you serious?” Lucas asked. Each word was drawn out and lengthened like Lucas honestly couldn’t believe it.
Max looked at him with a blank expression, not understanding what he was getting at.
“Dustin has had a crush on you since the eighth grade,” Lucas explained slowly. Max blinked back dumbly.
“But… I thought you liked me in eighth grade,” Max said slowly.
Lucas rolled his eyes. “Well, yeah. But Dustin did too. You really didn’t notice?”
“But you and me, we went to that stupid dance together. Dustin really didn’t have a problem with that?” Max asked, unable to believe that. That wasn’t even mentioning the month after where and Lucas had practically been dating before deciding they were far too similar to ever work as anything more than friends.
Lucas just frowned. “He probably did. But he’s Dustin. You know how he is-- he’s like the least selfless person alive, especially when it comes to his friends.”
Max did know that. She’d been on the receiving side of Dustin’s generosity so many times over the past few years, and it made her slightly sick to think about, mostly because she was nothing like that. She couldn’t even compare to how kind and loving Dustin was. He was soft and comforting, and she was all hard edges, rough enough to cut yourself on. It didn’t make sense, the two of them.
“But… why wouldn’t he say anything?” Max asked, feeling extremely small. She hated the idea of Dustin feeling like this-- this terrible mixture of affection and happiness and nausea and fear. Is this how Dustin felt when he looked at her? Had he felt this way for years, like Lucas had said?
“It’s scary, to tell someone that when you don’t know if they like you back,” Lucas pointed out. “Besides, Dustin likes liking people. It makes him happy, even when they don’t feel the same. It’s weird, but it’s how he is.”
Max frowned at that. She didn’t know how anyone could actually enjoy this.
“So… you’re really into Dustin? For real?” Lucas asked after a moment of thought. His face was calm, but there was a spark in his eyes that made her feel like he was way too excited about this.
Max groaned, grabbing the pillow again to cover her voice.
“I gotta say, I didn’t see this coming,” Lucas continued, and yeah, he was definitely smiling by this point. “I mean, I’m totally for it, I think it’s great, but I always thought you’d fall for some like 6-foot-badass, not a 5-foot-8 geek who once spent an hour eating pizza toppings.”
Max pulled the pillow down just to look at Lucas. “Are you supposed to be the 6-foot-badass in this scenario?”
Lucas stuck his tongue out at her. Max snorted, feeling slightly better for a hot second before the feeling faded back into that gross nausea she’d felt before. She hugged the pillow closer to her chest, staring up at the dark blue ceiling with the glow in the dark stars that she and Lucas had put up there together years ago.
“Hey,” Lucas spoke up softly. He nudged her with his knee, but she didn’t dare look at him. She felt far too vulnerable at that moment. “What’s the matter? He likes you back-- that’s good right?”
Max felt her chest tighten, unable to keep the warm sickly sense of happiness from spreading through her at the words.
“I don’t deserve him,” she mumbled into the pillow, pressing her face into it hard. She regretted the words as soon as she said them, even if they were sort of true. She’d learned quickly three years ago that self-deprecation wasn’t the way to get these boys to agree with her.
Sure enough, the pillow was pulled away from her in a matter of seconds, Lucas’ aptly named “hard-ass” face staring down at her.
“Screw that,” he said decidedly. He was always good at that-- making things sound like facts no matter how ridiculous they were. “Dustin’s one of the best people I know, sure, but so are you.”
Max sat up, running her hands through her hair, pulling a bit too hard at some stubborn knots. “You have to say that,” she argued back.
“No I don’t,” Lucas threw back just as quickly. They glared at each other for a moment before Lucas, surprisingly, softened. He looked at her almost sadly, tilting his head to the side. “Max, you’re a good person. We wouldn’t be friends with you if you weren’t. And Dustin wouldn’t be head over heels for you if you weren’t.”
Max bit her lip, looking away. She’d never been good at dealing with the confident, headstrong way Lucas Sinclair loved people. She’d never felt like she’d been worthy to be on this side of it. But she’d been friends with him for long enough to know logically that there had to be at least some amount of truth behind his words.
After a second of quiet she gave a tiny amused smile and glanced up.
“Head over heels?” Max mumbled in question, unable to keep the smile off her face. She felt like a lovestruck teenager, which she supposed was fitting. She really didn’t mind it as much as she thought she would.
Lucas snorted, shaking his head at her. “He looks at you like you’re the fucking sun, Max.”
Max smiled slowly despite herself. The happiness blooming in her chest was no longer paired with a sick unease. Instead it was bright, happy, calm-- the feelings that were rare enough in her life that she felt high on them now.
“Don’t get cocky, Max.”
“Say the guy who bragged for like thirty minutes right after he freaked out for an hour about kissing Will,” Max shot back without missing a beat.
Lucas opened his mouth to argue before falling into a smug smile. “Yeah well it was a really good kiss.”
“You’re full of shit, Sinclair,” Max laughed, swinging the pillow to hit his side. Lucas retaliated immediately with a pillow of his own, a grin on his face. Max tried to dodge his next hit but ended up almost falling off the bed, while Lucas just laughed at her. They continued on with their pillow fight for several minutes, and Max felt her fear and shame from earlier fade away as she laughed breathlessly.
“Uh, hello?”
Max and Lucas both stopped immediately at the voice, grinning over at a happy but confused Will Byers, who was standing in the doorway.
“Hey Will,” Lucas said immediately, brightening even more at the sight of the boy. “You guys finish the project?”
“Yeah,” Will said, kicking off his shoes and climbing onto the foot of the bed. “I hope it’s okay, I don’t know if we really stuck to the directions.”
“Of course it’s okay,” Lucas said immediately. “You made it.”
Max rolled her eyes at that, but it made Will blush, so maybe Lucas was smoother than she thought. She pushed her hair out of her eyes and threw one last pillow at the pair of them, making them both look at her in surprise.
“Well I’m out of here,” she said, hopping off the bed.
Will frowned, biting his lip. “You don’t have to go just because I’m here.”
“I’m not,” Max assured him. She was, kind of, but she didn’t mind anyway. Lucas and Will didn’t get to spend a lot of one-on-one time together, since the Byers’ didn’t really like Will being that spontaneous. “I’ll see you losers tomorrow.”
Lucas stuck his tongue out at her but Will just smiled. “Oh hey, if you leave now you might catch Dustin, he was just leaving too.”
Max paused, not sure how she felt about that. She wondered if it was too late to change her mind about leaving, but she really didn’t want to explain that to Will. “Yeah, cool. Bye.”
She left quickly, giving one last wave to Lucas’ parents before stepping out into the chilly fall air. Her eyes found Dustin quickly, on his bike leaving the cul-de-sac. She couldn’t help but smile when she saw him. After a second, her mouth caught up to her brain.
“Hey, Henderson!” Max called over as she skated towards him. Dustin stopped, glancing over in confusion. When his eyes fell on her he broke into a wide smile, and Max felt a small spark light up in her chest at the sight.
“Hey Max,” Dustin grinned over at her, waiting for her to catch up. “How’s the arm?”
She flashed her elbow at him as she slowed to a stop. “I’ll live.”
Dustin chuckled. He pushed off the ground, pedaling slowly down the street and she followed. “Maybe you’ll get a cool scar and then you can come up with some gruesome mysterious story to tell people. Like you got attacked by a bear.”
Max laughed, thinking for a second. “I was abducted by aliens and escaped, but they had already started experimenting on me.”
Dustin cracked up at that. “Or maybe you got attacked by Cujo and barely managed to escape without getting bitten.”
Max grinned at him, unable to help herself as he continued to weave stories out of nowhere.
Dustin Henderson, with his offset smile and his chubby face and his stupid hat that always messed up his hair but he wore it anyway because he swore it was a lucky charm. Dustin Henderson, she decided, was way out of her league.

Criminal Pt. 3
admin k: idk, it doesn’t feel like a lot happened in this part but stuff still happened?? lol what am I even saying? this is how you know I post at night bc my words never make sense. anyway, enjoy reading~
word count: 1,859
pairing: reader x vernon (criminal)
genre: au, fluff
He left you wondering if what just happened was a dream or not. You sat there on your bed, still trying to figure out who this guy was and if he was even real. Everything was so surreal, unreal to you. Never has anything like this ever has happened in your life and now, it’s all just strange.
He left so quickly and it made you wait and want him to come back faster. Why was it that you were so attached to him? You barely knew the guy yet you were there anticipating for his presence.
In your mind, you knew you shouldn’t be hanging out with someone like him. How could you trust him? Yet, through everything, your want to be with him overpowers reality.
There was something about him that drew you to want more of him. Days of past and Vernon hasn’t once shown up to your dorm since that night. Everywhere you were, everywhere you’d go, you looked thorough the crowd of people in hopes that he’d appear out of the blue.
You thought you were crazy for holding onto seeing some ‘criminal’ and always shook off the thought of seeing him again.
Was he a criminal? He told you he wasn’t but could you believe his words?
No matter how hard you tried to forget his name, his face, his..being, it was too difficult. The more days past, the more often you thought about him til it got unhealthy and to the point that you could not focus on anything or anyone else but him. Why were you going crazy over this person??
It bothered you greatly to the point that you decided to do more research on his past to see for yourself what type of person he truly was. Going on your laptop, you should’ve been studying your notes but instead, you typed in the search bar for Vernon Hansol Chwe and immediately, several news articles popped up.
You clicked on the first one and read each of them, one after another. All had a similar story line and information about his prisoning.
A few things did link to what Vernon had told you that night. Maybe what he said was true?
All this drew you in so much that you had forgotten your surroundings. What snapped you back into reality was the ringing of your phone that cut the silence.
You yelped and jumped a bit in your seat from the sudden noise that shocked you. You breathed out, seeing that it was only Mingyu calling.
You sighed as you picked up your phone, answering the call and putting your phone up against your ear. “Hello?”
“Hey” He said quite sly. “What you up to little princess?” He chirped. You smiled but was somewhat embarrassed of the nick name he calls you at times. MIngyu and you are strictly friends but there are times where the two of you joke around.
“I’m busy studying. Why?” You question in calm tone, curious as to why he was calling. “I wanted to see if you’d want to take a walk around campus or a nearby park. I don’t really know, I’m just bored and want some fresh air.” You laughed and you could practically hear him smile on the other end.
“Um…well…”
You were still so into reading about Vernon and you weren’t sure if you were up for a walk, especially at midnight.
And just like that, on cue, Vernon comes knocking on your window, making you jump again at the loud noise. You were very sensitive to noises around you today, especially being in daze and all.
You hitched and Mingyu heard. “Something wrong?” He asked out of concern. Vernon was waving for you to come quicker but you took your time to slowly get up and walk to open your window.
“Oh nothing, nothing. I just…” You started to make an excuse as Vernon let himself into your dorm room. “Saw a bug in my room. I’m sorry Mingyu but I’m not up for walking around right now, try your best to go to sleep, it late. I’ll see you tomorrow. I have to kill this bug before it runs off. Bye.” You quickly said and hung up on Mingyu.
Vernon huffed. “So now I’m a bug to you?” He teased but you didn’t say anything back. All you did was stare at him, now that he was here, you had no words to say to him. It was as if everything you wanted to say to him just flew out the window.
He makes himself comfortable, acting like this is his dorm when it really is yours. Vernon sat on your bed and checked your laptop. You went quickly to stop him and try to close it but he stops you, giving you a strange look, furrowing his eyebrows at you as he looks up. “Stop.”
“Let me see.” He argues and he forces it open. You don’t bother to fight back since you were scared you’d break your laptop.
You sighed as you waited for his reaction. Finally when he does he seems to be angered. “Do you not believe me and what I said to you?? What is all this?” Vernon looked at you in disgust.
All the comfortable and friends feelings were gone the minute he saw what you’ve search up. Now it was just a stranger yelling at another.
You backed off, scared of him and what he may do. You didn’t know him well but seeing him angry was not your favourite side of him.
“I’m…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I just-“ You began to pout and mumble, holding your arm with your other hand, securing yourself from Vernon’s harsh and loud words.
“Then why did you search up these things then?? Huh?? Is my word not good enough for you?!” You understood he was offended and you knew you shouldn’t have done what you did but curiosity took over you at the moment.
“I trust your words.-“
“You obviously don’t see all this! I’m leaving if all you see of me is some criminal.” He stormed off to the door, grabbing the doorknob and twisting it forcefully with so much power as he swings it open.
“No don’t! Don’t leave! I”m sorry I didn’t mean to! Vernon you’re not a criminal! I know that!” You pretty much yelled and plead for him to stay, not even caring that your door was open for everyone in the hall to hear.
You weren’t even sure if anyone was outside, but you didn’t care. All you wanted was for him to stay because he was the only person you’ve been thinking about for the past days, week.
Vernon sighed before turning back around and closing the door behind him. He leaned against the door with his arms crossed. “Prove it.”
Your brows knot up as you look at that boy in front of you. “What?” What did he mean by that?
“Prove it to me that you trust me.” He explains.
“How?” You still questioned him. You wanted to show him you trusted him.
“Let’s do a trust fall test.” You laughed “Are you a child or something?”
He tilted his head slightly. “Fine, if you don’t want to do that. I might as well walk out this door just so everyone in this building knows that you have a relationship with a criminal~” He stresses the last word.
“I don’t mind doing it, it’s just weird.” You said, agreeing to do it. as he smirks.
He makes a circular motion with his finger, indicating that you should turn around. You huffed, not seeing how this proves your trust to him but still doing it anyway.
“Do you trust me?”
“Sadly yes.”
“Fall back.” He told you. “You better catch me! I swear, if you drop me I’m going to kill you!”
“Watch your words. Kill is a strong word you know.” Right…were with a so called ‘criminal’.
You fell back, half scared but half not. The few seconds you were falling was a bit scary but the second you felt Vernon’s strong arms catch you and hold you up, made you feel secure and you felt hat you could breathe again.
“See? I’m a trustworthy guy.” He said as he lets you go sooner than you wanted. You had stood back on your own feet once again and was facing him.
“What are you doing here?” You questions finally started to come back to you as you look at him.
He had a smile as he fixed a few strand son your hair that were covering your face. HIs smile fades a little as you ask the question.
“Aren’t you happy I’m here?” You didn’t answer his question since he didn’t answer yours. Though you didn’t say an answer to him, you still answered his question in your mind. Yes, you were happy that he was here. Truly happy, you weren’t sure why you was overwhelmingly joyful to see his face again…but you were.
He leaned in closer, raising his eyebrows at he tries to get a good look at your face while you were looking down and avoiding eye contact. Vernon’s smile starts to appear again when he sees the flush of pink show on your cheeks.
“Did you miss me?” HIs voice was softer now and his words were devilish but smooth as silk.
“I thought you’d come sooner…” You mumbled your confession.
Vernon tucked your hair behind your ear, having his hand make its way to cup your cheek as well as tilt your head up to see him and look at him in his eyes.
Why is it that his eyes get brighter the more you look at them? You could stare at him and get lost in his eyes forever and you wouldn’t care.
“I would’ve came sooner but you know, I’m a criminal on the run. It’s not as easy as you think it is.” As he spoke, your focus and eyes went to his lips. You were so fascinate day his features that you didn’t even listen to half of what he had just said.
You found yourself getting closer and almost leaning into him. You caught yourself and stopped before anything happened.
Snapping yourself out of daze, you tried processing his last words so you could say something back and break the silence between the two of you. You licked your lips from the dryness.
“Uhh..yeah, I forgot.” He chuckled seeing your flustered state. He takes his hand away and stands at a more comfortable distance.
“How are you dealing with everything?” You asked.
Vernon sighed, a deep breath before answering. “Actually kind of horribly…I need your help.” Vernon confesses.
You blinked at him surprised and wondering if what he had said was what you heard. “What? With what?”
“Solving my case. Taking this back to court. People need to know the truth and that I’m not a criminal. Y/N, I need justice. The only person who can help me is you so please, help me.”
