Bat Family as One Piece characters
I’m writing this as I listen to the Flim Red soundtrack (Ado I fucking love you). Some of the bat boys may have more than one character just because I feel like some of them fit other characters as well. Also this might contain spoilers of the show so fair warning.
Bruce: Rayleigh/Whitebeard
Okay so the reason why I feel like Bruce can be Rayleigh and Whitebeard is because these guys are technically some of the strongest pirates. Like Rayleigh was Roger’s right hand man and one of the strongest swordsmen during Roger’s time. Rayleigh is still feared by the Navy even in his old age. He also decided to train Luffy to become the Luffy we know now. Bruce can be Whitebeard because his whole thing was adopting people that had nowhere to go and creating his own family (sound familiar?) Whitebeard was also one of the original Four Emperors before his death (basically one of the strongest pirates in the One Piece world that even their form of government couldn’t control them). While Bruce is the only one that, even the justice league, can’t take down.
Dick: Sabo
Dick would fit as Sabo because they both have a dorky personalities but are considered the best of the best. Sabo is the second in command in the Revolutionary Army and currently the holder of the flare flare fruit. Dick is his own hero, but is considered the best Robin. They both can hold their own even against stronger opponents (the first time Dick meets Damian, Dick was able to restrain a train assassin. Sabo in a room with the Gorosei, powerful haki users, and didn’t even flinch) They also care about their brothers, even if they didn’t have the greatest start with them.
Jason: Luffy
HEAR ME OUT! The reason why I feel Jason could be Luffy is because of their personality. Luffy, maybe a literal sun god, but he’s always the first to question why against the status quo. Jason is the same way, when he was Robin he would question Bruce on why they had to do things a certain way. They also could be considered a little obsessive (remember when Jason came back and saw Tim as Robin and he started to keep tabs on him and tried to have him come to his side?) well in Luffy’s case he’s obsessed with becoming the King of the Pirates (I said they could be obsessive but obviously their levels are completely different)
Tim: Robin
No pun intended but I do genuinely feel like Tim could be her. Miss Nico Robin (I love her so much) she’s the historian of the group and also the “smartest” one out of the group (I say “smart” because the other crew members are smart…well some of them). Remember that Tim was able to figure out Batman’s and Nightwing’s identity at nine years old… NINE! Robin has been able to read Poneglyphs (an ancient language that no one should be able to read in the One Piece world) since she was roughly about the same age as Tim. When the two year break happens in Once Piece, the one thing Robin wanted to do more than anything was to get stronger to protect her friends. After Tim finds out the Bruce=Batman and Dick=Nightwing he wanted to become stronger and be better not because he was after the title of Robin but because they inspired him to be better.
Damian: Zoro
So the reason why I feel Damian would be Zoro is because they both have that cold and intimidating aura. Before joining the Straw hats Zoro was a pirate hunter and basically didn’t care about other people (that’s a complete lie, Zoro did care, he just had a hard time showing it) Same with Damian, was trained to be an assassin and really didn’t understand basic human emotions. Then enter the people that showed them how to be “human” in a sense. Zoro has Luffy and the Straw Hats while Damian has Bruce and the rest of the Bat Family. Zoro has some demons of his own, so does Damian but with the help of the people around them, they slowly become more in touch with human emotions.
Let me know what you guys think, I would love to hear your take on this. I’m sure I miss some other characters that they could be. Anyways love you guys and I hope you enjoyed this!

Botbots squad userboxes pt 1: Squads Featured in the Show! 📺✨ (More userboxes below the cut!) I got bored 'n noticed a lack of Botbots related userboxes, so i'm making them now! Starting with Squads that are specifically in the cartoon! (These are f2u, credit is NOT required UNLESS you're going to repost them on another site as they are (i.e pinterest)! But if these are in pinned posts, headers, carrds, rentrys or what-have-you-- go nuts!)

+ bonus show!frostferatu coloured sugar shock userboxes (for the gothic sugar shocks <3)
#botbots tag 🏪#my art 🎨#<- it counts i suppose#tf botbots#transformers botbots#transformers#userboxes#userbox#this user#ok 3 things. 1: there are 2 versions of each userbox because of first & third person grammatical differences#and so i figured some people would like the first person “this user is a lost bot” one#and others'd like “this user is a MEMBER OF the lost bots” . at the end of the day it is just preference though#and you can use whichever one you fancy!#2: the fashion forwards box is coloured like that because of jacquelyn! she's the main double-F shown in the cartoon and i wuv her <3#and 3: the science alliance's userbox icon looks wonky because i had 2 draw it because the icon i got from the tfwiki was super low res :(#this will be the same for probably a Majority of the userboxes </3 soz in advance...

This is going to be an obvious question to anyone who's familiar with the language, but how does one type in Chinese? All the languages I've studied have had alphabetic writing systems, so to me foreign language typing is just assigning different letters on the keyboard and hitting them in order the same as English.
I imagine there's some way of entering the elements of each glyph with a command that tells it where to place it? I tried googling and just got a bunch of articles about how autocorrect can suggest Chinese characters when a user types the words in pinyin, but this sounds like a laborious and clunky system for someone who reads and writes Chinese fluently, and it wouldn't nessecarily exist on all devices.
--
(same anon wondering about typing Chinese characters) I also figure that if converting from pinyin was the primary or only way to get digital Chinese characters, then a lot more online spaces would just use pinyin in the first place and save everyone the trouble. The people writing multichapter fanfics or chatting away on social media in Chinese definitely have a fluent way to type their language that probably doesn't involve converting the entire text from an unrelated writing system, but these articles just aren't telling me what it is.
Ahahaha. Anon... phonetic entry is so much easier than other methods.
No, nobody enters characters while typing by picking radicals and where to place them. There are ways to look up an unfamiliar character that use radicals. There are also apps that let you try to draw something by hand, then attempt to figure out what you drew. But, again, that's for unfamiliar things, not typing up a story.
Computers were developed by English speakers and others with alphabets. Phonetic entry would probably be easiest anyway, but with the early infrastructure geared towards it, it's definitely easier.
There was an interesting phenomenon in Japanese (I'm not sure about Chinese) where The Youth™ were using fewer and fewer complex or less common kanji in... I want to say the 80s or 90s. The usual suspects moaned about the death of literacy...
Then cell phone/computer typing came along. If you knew the word, you didn't have to remember every single detail of how to write it. And people responded by using hella kanji all over the place, including lots of much rarer characters that a person would often recognize on sight but not remember perfectly enough to write by hand with confidence.
English spelling is tricky, but just learning 26 letters and then using them in a way that makes sense to a native speaker of [whatever] isn't. People are going to know pinyin. It's not a hardship to use it.

Savea huffed lowly as she set her wax stick on her vanity, gently tugging her jet black hair into a ponytail at the top of her head, slicking it to perfection before dropping her hands and rolling her shoulders. Her two and a half year old daughter, Zion, sat on the carpeted floor near her feet playing with a unicorn plushie gifted to her by Savea’s girlfriend.
When Savea first met Paige, she was 23 years old and Zion was around a year old. She had just gotten out of an extremely toxic relationship with her child’s father who was ultimately out of the picture immediately after they broke up, and not looking for any type of relationship.
But Paige was simply different. She was very patient with her, understanding that Savea still wasn’t used to being treated as amazingly as Paige treated her nor was she used to communicating her feelings and emotions. But it was very easy to fall for her because Paige was an amazing woman who genuinely wouldn’t hurt a fly.
When Savea took that next step in introducing the athlete to her daughter, Paige practically fell in love all over again. Zion, though very young, was still a complete carbon copy of Savea. From her eyes to the shape of her nose and even her smile.
There was nothing the woman loved more than watching Paige become a parental figure to Zion. Caring for her when she woke up at night, to bringing her back gifts from every single road trip. She even went as far as having designated time with Zion every Sunday (yes, even when she was on the road), no excuses.
They were currently getting ready for one of Paige’s games where the Sparks would be playing the Valkyries in a California classic. It was the first home game back from all-star break and the game was heavily marketed, mostly because of the Sparks biggest stars in Paige, Cameron Brink, and Rickea Jackson going up against Paige’s former UConn teammates Azzi Fudd and Nika Mühl.
Savea was excited, not only because of the atmosphere, but being able to meet some of her girlfriend’s favorite people in person (finally) was something she was looking forward to.
“Mommy!” Zion’s voice ran through her ear as she picked her up off the floor, holding her to her hip as she grabbed her bag and other necessities all at once.
“Yes, Z?”
Zion brought her little hand up towards her face before gesturing towards the unicorn on the floor. Savea chucked before bending over and picking it up, handing it to her daughter.
“Thank you, mommy.”
“You’re welcome, my baby.”
***
Shuffling the excited toddler into the car and keeping her entertained throughout the ride to Crypto.com Arena was definitely a bit of a struggle, but once they got closer to the arena Zion settled a little bit.
Her cream colored kitten heels clicked against the yellow hardwood floor, while Zion ran by her feet.
Paige wanted them to show up a little before shoot around so she could meet everyone before the fans started to pack the stands. She had even made sure the two were able to get into the family and eat something before the game, it was very considerate of her and Savea made sure to thank her for it later.
“Paigey!” The little girl screamed, spotting the blonde in a courtside seat finishing up a conversation with one of her assistant coaches. An iPad between them as they looked at film.
She looked up, pushing back the flyaways of her slick back bun. She opened up her arms, leaning forward towards the end of the seat. “Hey, babygirl!” A grin so big it reached her eyes she she picked Zion up in her arms.
The little girl’s short arms wrapped around her neck while Paige peppered her cheeks with kisses. Savea smiled from her spot a few feet away, adjusting the Marc Jacobs bag on her shoulder.
“P, look!” She yelled, fingers pointing to the white shirt Savea styled her in with Paige’s face on it. “D’you like it?”
“I love it, Z! Thank you so much.”
Paige had brought her attention away from Zion’s shirt, listening to her talk about her day with her mom as she walked up towards Savea. She was fairly shameless in the way she sized her up. The black backless shirt with gold jewelry complemented her carmel skin wonderfully. Her cheetah print pants sat beautifully low waisted on her hips, and face done up to accentuate her already goddess like appearance.
Savea noticed, calling her closer with her forefinger before planting a short kiss on her lips.
“Hey, ma. You good?” Paige asked, disappointed that the kiss she’d been thinking about all day only lasted for a few seconds.
“Mmhm.”
“You look good.” Her girlfriend complemented. Her hand briefly went to cover Zion’s eyes with her hand before she jokingly, and dramatically, bit her lip. She mouthed something a little too nasty because Savea’s jaw dropped and she hit the blonde’s arm with a force she didn’t even know she had.
“Ow! Z, mommy just hit me!” Paige pouted.
“Mommy, don’t hit her!” Zion frowned, crossing her arms on her chest and Paige stuck her tongue out in victory.
This is what she regretted about introducing the two. Paige was literally a six year old trapped in an adults body. The two together was like working at a daycare. Savea reluctantly apologized, rolling her eyes at Paige when her daughter stopped glaring at her with her adorable brown doe eyes.
“Okay, so,” Paige started. “I have some people who really really want to meet you, is that okay with you, Z?” She asked, running her fingers through Zion’s curly hair. Azzi and Nika were just walking into the gym from their side of the arena, their lavender colored warmups slowly approaching the group of three. The child curled into Paige’s chest, looking to her mom for some sort of support.
Savea nodded. “It’s okay! We’ll go with you, princess. Don’t be scared.” She smiled, instating some confidence into the little girl’s heart.
“Okay.” Zion mumbled, reaching for her mom and Paige allowed the other woman to take her from her grasp.
***
“But I thought you wear yellow and purple?” Zion yawned as she looked up at Paige slightly confused.
It had been a little over two hours after the game had ended. The match up living up to its expectations. The Sparks had thankfully came out with a two point victory 88-86 thanks to a game saving block by Cameron on Nalyssa Smith in the last few seconds.
Paige had played great, and both Savea and Zion nearly lost their voices cheering for her. A 29 point game coupled with 10 rebounds and 6 assists, a few steals and a memorable block added to the stat sheet as well.
The blonde sat on the carpeted floor of Savea’s LA Apartment. Zion sat soundly in her lap, taking sips from the warm milk Paige had provided her to get her to sleep, it was definitely a little past the toddler’s usual bedtime. After getting back from the game Zion could not stop talking about how cool she thought Paige’s job was, so her bedtime story hearing about and looking at memories from Paige’s career up until now. Pictures from when she played at Hopkins, to when she held that National Title trophy over her head during her last year at UConn. (a/n: manifesting)
“Well I do now, but I used to wear white and blue for a very long time.” Paige explained.
“I like blue.” Zion Yawned again, and Paige took the sippy cup away from her little hands.
“I know you do.” Paige laughed, wiping the dribble of milk that fell from her lips. “I think it might be bedtime for you, princess.”
She didn’t miss the frown that spread across Zion’s face, “I don’t wanna!” She whined, shaking her head viciously and burying herself deeper into Paige’s hold. “Please, Paigey?”
Paige very clearly hated telling Zion ‘no.’ She felt like the words should never even form on her tongue when talking to the little girl, but it was past 11:30 at night and keeping her up longer would only be a recipe for disaster come morning time. “It’s late, baby girl. You gotta go to bed.”
Savea could sense her daughter getting frustrated, so she walked over. She sat on the sofa that Paige rested her back against. Her hand subconsciously slipping to cup Paige’s cheek. “Z, let her put you to bed, okay? You got all day tomorrow to do whatever you want.” She reasoned.
Zion looked over to Paige, her frown turning into a smile when she stood up on her thighs and wrapped her arms around her neck. “One more story? Please!” Dragging out the ending sound, Zion eagerly jumped up and down.
“Okay! Okay, one more, that’s it.” Paige gave in. “But we’re going upstairs.”
“Thank you, mama.”
Paige’s brows furrowed for a few milliseconds before her head shot up to look at Savea. The expression on her face was incredulous. Savea simply shrugged, a matching smile on her face.
“Did you just call me, mama?” Paige asked, returning her attention to Zion.
“Sorry, I won’t—”
“No. No! Don’t apologize, princess. Of course you can call me that. I’d love it if you called me that.” Paige reassured. She held Zion close, probably closer than she’d even realized.
Savea didn’t fight the smile that formed on her face. She was very stingy with who she allowed around her daughter, and rightfully so. When she had first introduced Zion to Paige she had only hoped that Paige would be around for a long time, not only to protect her heart but Zion’s as well. This was even more than she had expected. It was heartwarming and she was so grateful to be able to watch the two’s relationship form into what it was now.
***
Savea finally made her way to her bathroom after watching Paige hold Zion to her chest and take her into her bedroom. This was another thing she loved about having the athlete around, she didn’t have to do it all alone. She was able to take time for herself in ways she wasn’t able to do before.
She had gotten out of the shower, body clean and smelling of her Vanilla body wash. Her favorite rose colored night robe on her body as she finished the rest of skin care routine. A few knocks on her door got her attention.
She tugged the door open to reveal her girlfriend. The blonde stepped into the brightly lit bathroom, her arms immediately wrapping around Savea’s waist and pulling her close. Paige tucked her head into the woman’s neck, “You smell nice.”
“Thank you! It’s that new body butter you got me.” Savea answered. Her hands dropped to hold onto the arms around her waist. Paige still had on her outfit from the game. A simple white graphic t-shirt that had the sleeves cut off; she was obviously in the mood to show off her muscles tonight. Her baggy light wash jeans clung low to her hips, the band of her Calvin Klein’s peaking out. “You played good tonight, it was kinda hot.” She changed the subject.
Paige’s lips puckered, pushing a kiss to Savea’s neck. She was soft with it, teasing as she looked into her eyes through the mirror. “I had a baddie sitting in the box, I had to show out.” She joked. Savea rolled her eyes at the cockiness that ran through her body.
“Okay, Jordan Poole.”
“I’m serious! You shoulda seen her, baby. She got a pretty smile, body on a whole different level, she was cheering me on the whole game too.” Paige continued, she slightly rocked the two side to side as she spoke.
“Oh yeah?”
“Mhmm, definitely a MILF. Shoulda seen her.” She teased. Paige kissed Savea’s neck again. Her hand moved to the silk string of her robe, playing with it but not tugging the robe open. “She ain’t got shit on you though.
“At all?”
“Nope. You just do something different to me. Can’t ever be replicated.” Paige said. She gently turned Savea around so she could look at her pretty face up close. Her eyes raked her girlfriend’s body, her tits just barely peaked out of the top of the silk cover up. The curve of Savea’s hips, though, was probably Paige’s favorite. Her skin was decorated in pretty stretch marks that she always made sure to show extra love to.
Savea puckered her lips, teasingly sticking them out for Paige to finally kiss them. Connecting them in a gentle kiss, Paige cupped Savea’s cheeks in her hand as she kissed them repeatedly. Savea let her, shoulders relaxing into Paige’s comfort as she melted into the kiss.
Paige’s tongue pushed slowly between her lips. It was a feeling and a taste she would never get over, even after these last couple years together. Savea tasted like candy, like hot chocolate on a snow day, like ice cream. So familiar and sweet.
Paige moaned softly and it spurred Savea on as she sucked dangerously on the pink muscle. Paige kisses back harder, the only signs of breathing being the short sounds of air leaving her nose.
The blonde pulled back delicately, pressing her pink lips to Savea’s cheek, then her jaw, and finally on her earlobe. “Sav?”
“Hmm?” She responded.
“Can I take this off?” Paige gestured towards her robe, tugging on the lace hem with the tips of her fingers.
Savea nodded, eyes going wide and eager. “Please.”
Her slender fingers untied the knot that kept the frail fabric together, watching it fall open around Savea’s body. Her breasts round and decorated with her hardened nipples and ridiculously sexy tan lines. A low whistle left Paige’s mouth as she continued sizing her up.
“You’re fuckin’ gorgeous, baby. My God.” Paige exclaimed. Her hands traveled up to Savea’s tits, cupping them before they moved to her hips. “Take these off.” She instructed. Her fingers snapped the simple navy colored cotton underwear against her hips. Savea reached to pull them off until the pooled by her feet and Paige took it as an opportunity to take off her white shirt, leaving her in a black Nike sports bra and her jeans.
To say Savea’s gawked at her body would be an understatement.
She stood practically drooling. Her abs were so defined and the muscles on her arms unintentionally flexed with each movement she made. The sight alone was more than enough to have her soaking wet between her legs. She squeezed her thighs together, hoping to alleviate the pressure there.
“Babe, I don’t think you understand how bad I need you right now.”
“Show me then.”
Savea’s legs slightly parted, giving Paige room to step closer and stand between them more. A hand gripped her waist while the other trailed from the center of her chest and down her stomach. Savea rested against the counter, her palms flush against the cool marble sink when Paige ran her middle finger through her folds.
The slick pooled on her finger, catching her by surprise. She brought her finger to her lips, licking her girlfriend’s precum off of it before licking her lips.
“Hiding that from me all day, Sav?”
“Paige c’mon.” Savea breathed out, her head lolling to the side where she looked at Paige teasingly. A pout gracing her face.
She wanted more and Paige could tell, so her finger slipped inside slowly, gently parting her folds and brushing her walls with the long finger. Savea took a deep breath following that with a bite of her plump bottom lip. Her fingers were good company while Paige was busy, but they never did the job as well as her girlfriend did.
“Shit, you’re already dripping?” Paige groaned at the sight.
“You don’t know how sexy you look when you play.” Savea defended, but her mind was elsewhere, namely the slight rake of Paige’s long finger moving inside of her. “Been like this for hours, P.”
“You think you can take another?”
“Two more. Fuck, I’ll take three more. Just fuck me, P.”
Paige was never one for making her woman wait, so she nudged her clit gently with her ring finger. Her hand stilled before pushing in the second finger followed by the third. Savea’s insane wetness made it easy.
“You’re so tight, Sav.” Paige mumbled, dragging her fingers in and out at a dangerously slow pace. Her lip tucked between her teeth while she watched Savea’s body writhe. “You like that, baby?”
She nodded in response, a moan mixed with a whine leaving her pouted lips.
Paige’s head traveled to her girlfriend’s chest. Her lips kissing gently on it before traveling to her tits. She grasped one in her hand, tongue slowly peeking out of her mouth to lick Savea’s sensitive nipple. Paige did it again, but this time softly biting on the flesh. Her fingers started speeding up, the thickness of the three combined with the sucking on her tits made Savea’s eyes roll.
“Ha— Paige. Oh fuck, just like that.” She whimpered. Her hand cradled Paige’s head, fingers tangling into the long blonde hair. Her head fell back as she gripped onto the edge of the sink with her free hand. “Feels ‘s good.” Savea praised.
Her girlfriend’s lips continued with opened mouth kisses across her skin, tongue teasing her nipples and soothing the hickeys that formed there. The pace Paige had set for herself was dreadfully slow, teasing that one spot over and then slowing down before speeding up again. She pulled back from Savea’s chest, biting her bottom lip while she moved.
“You’re so pretty, Sav.” Paige complemented. Her arm began to sting, her muscles tensing from the increased rigor. Her middle finger curved just slightly and Savea’s head shot up with a shade of pink accented on her cheeks. “Oh my God, listen to that.” Paige fired. The wetness of Savea’s cunt was doing unimaginable things to her, soaking her boxers without a doubt.
“Baby,” Savea started. Her hand darted down to her clit, but Paige pushed the hand away.
Her need for control was so apparent. Her tall and muscular body towered over her menacingly and Savea craved it. She lived off of that feeling.
“Let me get you right.” Paige groaned as she pressed her thumb to the woman’s clit. She applied a steady pressure to the nerves, rubbing tight circles over it. “Fuck you just like you need it. You’re takin’ it so good, mama.”
“It’s so fucking—sensitive.” Savea gasped.
She raised in volume, and although the feeling was otherworldly, she still had her child sleeping in the room next door. Her hand pressed to her mouth to silence her growing cries.
Paige’s fingers pressed against her spot over and over and over again. The curling of her fingers hit that gummy spot and made Savea’s legs nearly give out on her. Her stomach was doing summersaults and the knot tightened.
“Let it go, Sav.” Paige instructed. “All down my hand, let that shit go.” Her veiny hand peeled Savea’s palm from her mouth. Paige’s lips hovered over hers, nearly touching but not yet as she breathed in all of her girlfriend’s breathless pleas. “Let me hear you.”
“‘M so close.”
“I know, Ma.”
“You’re so deep.”
Paige smirked at that, pushing her hand further until a squeal escaped Savea. “I’ll go deeper. Just need you to cum. Make a mess on this floor, go ‘head.”
“Paige!” Savea hiccuped, a groan leaving her lips as she steadied a hand on her broad shoulder. Eyes glued shut and mouth agape as she approached her climax.
“Look at me, love.” Paige spoke softly. Her hand slipped to the back of Savea’s neck, refocusing her attention.
Savea’s eyes blinked open, a glassy look on her brown eyes. Her body was on fire thanks to Paige, she knew her like the back of her hand. The blonde hit her spot with ease, repeatedly pushing at her button and rubbing her clit simultaneously until Savea’s legs shook and she gripped her shoulder with an electric force as she came.
Her jaw fell slack, her moans coming out as more dragged out breaths. Her chest heaved, and Paige’s eyes remained glued to her, even after she broke their eye contact. Her cum pooled in Paige’s palm, the sticky substance coating her hand and Savea’s thighs.
The athlete took another step forward to connect their lips, her fingers gently slipping out of her cunt. “I love you.” She spoke in between short pecks.
“I love you too, P.” Savea whispered back.
Her arms finally draped around her shoulders to hold her close, and Paige’s wildly exhausted ones fell together at Savea’s hips. They stood like that for a while softly shifting side to side while Savea caught her breath. Her head fit perfectly in Paige’s neck, inhaling the scent of her cologne that still managed to stay on throughout the night. Paige’s clean hand drew circles on her lower back, muttering soft, sweet nothings into her ear.
“Paige?”
“Yeah?”
“I know I say this all the time, but I really am so thankful for everything you do to help me out with Z.” Savea’s voice was low, she nearly drifted off to sleep right where she stood. “None of it goes unnoticed.”
“Baby don’t worry about it. You’re my family, I’m just doing my part.” Paige spoke into Savea’s hair. This was her life. Sure she got to play the sport she loved and the fame and attention that came with it was an added bonus, but she had Savea and Zion. Her motivation to keep going, even when she hated going to the gym in the morning. She had a family. “Oh my God, she called me mama today.” Paige finally realized.
She couldn’t fight the smile that formed on her face even if she tried. Savea nodded from her spot in Paige’s neck, giggling like a child when she looked up into her girlfriend’s bright blues.
“I know! You should’ve seen your face.” Savea pointed out, and just like that Paige was joining her in laughter, holding her lover close by while she talked.
And when their night came to an end, after they took a shower (yes another shower for Savea) and the girl returned the favor to Paige in said shower. After all was said and Savea fell asleep in the strong arms of her lover, Paige closed her eyes with a smile on her face. Thinking of her girl, and their little family.

PLAGIARISM UPDATE!
So, maybe I should not have said: "Hopefully this will have been the last we see of plagiarizer Kristynaka1." Perhaps from the exterior it may have seemed like it's been over, but it hasn't. Again, I've tried to deal with this silently in the background. However, my hands are tied at this point and I believe it's best to go public with this once again.
Let's rewind it a bit, shall we? In order to give y'all the full picture of what is going on.
DECEMBER 26, 2024
The story containing the plagiarism is deleted. Oh, what a joyous day. I had figured that would be the end of it, as there's nothing left to do but move on. But, as usual, I was proven wrong.
DECEMBER 27, 2024
I was made aware of an announcement post the plagiarizer made which I will share here. Keep in mind, to my knowledge I was still blocked but others alerted me and shared evidence with me.
Not too long after, I receive a message in my inbox. A message that states they were a neutral user on the issue but accused me of bullying.
I was initially suspicious of this message, but I decided to take their words into consideration. I asked others of their honest thoughts and opinions, because I genuinely wanted to know if I did anything wrong. Most agreed that the user truly didn't sound like they were a neutral party, and that it was likely the plagiarizer themself or a friend of theirs.
Later, I received a dm with practically the same message.
So what do I do? I block them. Perhaps that was wrong of me, and they accuse me of doing the same that they did when they blocked me. But I ask you to consider. Why would I want to continue to entertain this notion of accusations and messages when the ordeal is supposed to be over?
It's around this point where I'm notified by others that comments are continuously being made to defend me. These comments were appearing on the plagiarizer's Wattpad profile, often arguing with the plagiarizer only to get their commented deleted or profile blocked. But it was slowly and continuous. Which is one of the main reasons I am making this post, and is something I will address towards the end in more detail.
Later, I am notified by a few people that the user seen in the screenshot above, let's refer them to as IDK, was messaging multiple users asking for help and their opinion on the matter. IDK created a post accusing me of bullying. While these are heavy accusations, I personally see no truth in them. Again, since I had asked the honest opinion of others earlier when first messaged in my inbox.
Not too long after, I receive another very similar message in my inbox from an anon user. I don't even try to entertain it. I block the user, because at this point, it has become a form of spam or harassment.
The first comment and like on the bullying accusation post was made by a user named Kryllia. Basically they seemed to support what was said in the post. I bring them up because the post happened on a profile with no other posts or visible likes or reblogs. And if you see the current comments, which I won't show here because there are too many, their manner of speech is very similar to Kristynaka's own. Which is why I believe it might be an alt account or a friend of theirs. I also believe this because this account is blocked from my view, and I don't recall ever manually blocking this user, so it must've been them who sent one of the messages in my inbox on anon.
Anyways, those that were messaged by IDK and alerted me, informed me that their own opinions did not align with this new user's claim of neutrality. The post gained a bit of attention, but I attempted to do some damage control by messaging users privately to please keep this under wraps as I didn't want this spiraling out of hand. To which they all obliged and were very respectful.
I had assumed that this would fizzle out and nothing would happen. I was wrong. Now I had users alerting me to comments being made on Tumblr and on Wattpad.
DECEMBER 28, 2024
Now is probably a good time to bring up Teenfic.net and Penana. Just to remind you all. Some research was done and we found both the user and the copied stories on these sites. DO NOT go to these sites, as they are both ridden with malware!
Teenfic appears to be a mirror site that copies stories from Wattpad, so it likely saw the story from Wattpad and copied it. While Penana is a smaller and highly suspicious website where the plagiarizer likely created an account and posted the copied story since they were banned off Quotev and the story was taken off Wattpad. I'm not too concerned with Penana, since it's also full of malware and there's hardly any traction.
I will take the time to say that if you see any stories that are highly similar to mine, please make me aware privately before doing anything else! I imagine this plagiarizer will continue to use other people's work and claim it as their own. I will bring this up again later with more screenshots.
JANUARY 2, 2025
I'm notified by others that the user Kryllia has commented on the bullying accusation post again. Now, after reading their recent comments, they sound more and more like the plagiarizer Kristynaka. However, I'll let you be the judge of that.
So from the looks of it, their plan is to get my account deleted and also to feed original work into AI and claim the result as their own work. Which is not how writing works.
JANUARY 3, 2025
Today I made the decision to finally go public with this information. However, not for the reason y'all may suspect. I want to be honest with my readers. Although I truly believe there is no reason for my account to be banned, I just wanted to put this out there in case it does happen.
Most importantly, the main reason I wanted to make this post was because I want to discourage anymore interactions with the plagiarizer or their alts/friends. Please, no more comments or posts about it. While I appreciate any attempts that were made to defend me, I would like them to stop now as this is only prolonging the conflict. However, if anything does come up, please message me privately.
I would like this to stop, and the situation to end. I realize that it may not go according to plan, but I would rather not acknowledge anything else said by the plagiarizer or her proxies anymore unless the need to arises again.
Thank you to my readers and anyone reading this post. As I said above, please do not engage in any interactions with them, and I encourage you to share this post in the possible scenario that Kristynaka really does uses AI to copy from my works or others again in the future.

the op of that "you should restart your computer every few days" post blocked me so i'm going to perform the full hater move of writing my own post to explain why he's wrong
why should you listen to me: took operating system design and a "how to go from transistors to a pipelined CPU" class in college, i have several servers (one physical, four virtual) that i maintain, i use nixos which is the linux distribution for people who are even bigger fucking nerds about computers than the typical linux user. i also ran this past the other people i know that are similarly tech competent and they also agreed OP is wrong (haven't run this post by them but nothing i say here is controversial).
anyway the tl;dr here is:
you don't need to shut down or restart your computer unless something is wrong or you need to install updates
i think this misconception that restarting is necessary comes from the fact that restarting often fixes problems, and so people think that the problems are because of the not restarting. this is, generally, not true. in most cases there's some specific program (or part of the operating system) that's gotten into a bad state, and restarting that one program would fix it. but restarting is easier since you don't have to identify specifically what's gone wrong. the most common problem i can think of that wouldn't fall under this category is your graphics card drivers fucking up; that's not something you can easily reinitialize without restarting the entire OS.
this isn't saying that restarting is a bad step; if you don't want to bother trying to figure out the problem, it's not a bad first go. personally, if something goes wrong i like to try to solve it without a restart, but i also know way, way more about computers than most people.
as more evidence to point to this, i would point out that servers are typically not restarted unless there's a specific need. this is not because they run special operating systems or have special parts; people can and do run servers using commodity consumer hardware, and while linux is much more common in the server world, it doesn't have any special features to make it more capable of long operation. my server with the longest uptime is 9 months, and i'd have one with even more uptime than that if i hadn't fucked it up so bad two months ago i had to restore from a full disk backup. the laptop i'm typing this on has about a month of uptime (including time spent in sleep mode). i've had servers with uptimes measuring in years.
there's also a lot of people that think that the parts being at an elevated temperature just from running is harmful. this is also, in general, not true. i'd be worried about running it at 100% full blast CPU/GPU for months on end, but nobody reading this post is doing that.
the other reason i see a lot is energy use. the typical energy use of a computer not doing anything is like... 20-30 watts. this is about two or three lightbulbs worth. that's not nothing, but it's not a lot to be concerned over. in terms of monetary cost, that's maybe $10 on your power bill. if it's in sleep mode it's even less, and if it's in full-blown hibernation mode it's literally zero.
there are also people in the replies to that post giving reasons. all of them are false.
temporary files generally don't use enough disk space to be worth worrying about
programs that leak memory return it all to the OS when they're closed, so it's enough to just close the program itself. and the OS generally doesn't leak memory.
'clearing your RAM' is not a thing you need to do. neither is resetting your registry values.
your computer can absolutely use disk space from deleted files without a restart. i've taken a server that was almost completely full, deleted a bunch of unnecessary files, and it continued fine without a restart.

tori's chunin exam in kiri (notes)
tori fails to communicate to anyone how stressed she is over this. people know she's anxious but it's difficult to feel out the difference between her baseline anxiety VERSUS "i am about to freak out and do something apocalyptic" anxiety. so minato & kushina send her off like "dw you'll do fine :)" because from their POV her assigned mission ("put on a good show with fuuinjutsu for konoha, try to win the tournament if you can") is well within her capabilities and isn't even that much of a stretch.
shisui sends a report that tori and team 2 both passed to finals so they'll be there another month, and he includes a note like "tori seems more stressed than normal? she threatened to kill uchiha shouten to 'help him awkaen his sharingan'" and minato is like "dw, she's a high anxiety person trying to help, just reassure her and tell her itachi is not a good standard for uchiha behavior"
and then when they get back, minato gets the following report from tori
figured out ideal plan to look cool and awesome to audience, just like you wanted. required fighting someone with a sword. figured i should do it in the finale for maximum narrative drama
decided to rig tournament entrants by sabotaging ppl who didn't fit the profile i wanted during first and second stage. ended up biasing end results towards kiri. hope that's okay
oh but dw i was a good sempai and mentored my fellow genin through the first two stages. attempt #1 to awaken shouten's sharingan failed but attempt #2 (shoving his teammates into a whirlpool) totally worked! um i might have killed some people from suna. unclear. dw i totally made the whirlpool look like a natural occurrence
i didn't like the seed for the tournament so i spent like a month on sabotage so one of the sword users would definitely make it to the finale. dw i don't think anyone caught on i was doing that because i was also pretending to date one of the seven swordsmen and seem super unserious about the actual tournament. ummm also my first match was some guy from taki who seemed like the most promising genin by far but i curbstomped him in the first match because him doing a good job didn't fit the narrative i wanted. i then i let someone who sucks but who i pushed through via sabotaging other people beat me up a little in the semi finals so i seemed like an underdog :) that makes me winning the finale seem even cooler, right? anyway i think kiri recommended semifinals guy for promotion and he definitely didn't deserve it, idk seems like something konoha might want to make a note of
i think i did too good a job because i got a lot of attention and then orochimaru attacked us :( sorry : (
and minato reads this report and is like. idk what i expected. tori, what the actual fuck? who does this? you could have just won like a normal person?
kushina: okay i am very proud of you but minato wants me to stress that when we talk about "choosing fights" and "creating a battlefield that benefits you over your enemy" this isn't what we mean--

PROLOGUE
prev | masterlist | next

Sypnosis: Y/N L/N is a special shaman from a jujutsu family. Y/N was sent to Tokyo to go on missions to prove their worth as the next heir. With the ability of 'flow', a cursed technique that allows its user to see and manipulate forces of energy freely. Y/N stumbled across Geto Suguru amidst a dark aura, carrying a weight of chaotic and dark energy. Will Y/N be able to help Geto overcome his turmoil? Will Y/N fulfill the lifelong anticipation and succeed in becoming the next heir?
Time setting: 2007, a year after Amanai Riko's death, before Geto Suguru's breaking point. gn!reader. I use they/them pronounce for neutrality.
Disclaimer: This will be a slight crossover with chainsaw man because I needed a mentor figure who is not known in Jujutsu Kaisen. I do not own any of the characters from Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man. The characters belong to Gege Akutami as the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen and Tatsuki Fujimoto as the creator of Chainsaw Man. I only own the story plot of this work of fiction. I will also mix in a written story for the plot so it's not just the SMAU story. Also english isn't my first language and I used AI to help clean up the grammars so excuse any grammar errors in the story (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)
written and published by orieriee on tumblr. Please do not copy or repost in any other platform.

"You look terrible.".
The bullet train hurtled as he stands, holding the train handrail. Geto Suguru found himself lost in thoughts, staring blankly out of the train window, his conflicting mind and emotions threatened to consume him.
"Ah... Yes." he replied weakly to person who was sitting in front of him, having no more energy left after coming back from a mission. His expression a mixture of surprise and weariness as he met the person's gaze. He offered a faint nod, though dark circle below his eyes gave it away that he hasn't been sleeping well.
"You don't look fine. It might sound strange, but... I sense a darkness surrounding you, a shadow that threatens to consume you if left unchecked.", the person replied, "But there is also light. You have the power to choose which path to follow, to embrace the shadows or to seek the light. A suggestion I may say: the darkness may seem overwhelming at times, but it is only temporary. The light will always find a way to shine through, even in the darkest of nights."

CHARACTER INTRO 𖤐
Y/N L/N 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ
We're definitely starting of with you, Y/N here.
In this story, you are about the same age as Geto Suguru in 2007. But I imagined you would be somewhat older than him by 2-3 years. So you're basically his senpai in this story.
You're not enrolled in Jujutsu Tech as a student, but you are a shaman from a jujutsu family/clan who possess a cursed technique called 'flow'.
Flow is a cursed technique that allows the user to sense and manipulate energy, mainly positive energy.
I sort of took the inspiration from Frieren, inuyasha and kekkaishi, where you would carry a similar staff to cast your cursed technique. Your cursed technique allows you to use positive energy to cleanse cursed spirits and imbue positive energy to heal, basically it's reversed curse technique inspired by traditional japanese shaman.
Therefore in this story, I'm going to refer you as a shrine shaman or a shrine sorcerer so I can differentiate jujutsu high sorcerers with you.
Your techniques include casting spells to cleanse cursed spirits and energies, casting spells to heal others, sense energy and in some cases, energy-based prediction.
Basically you can also predict what the possible outcome will be by reading the energy, sort of like a gut feeling that you have, since you're sensitive to energy. Although it's not 100% accurate.
You can also help the flow of energy in other people by contact, so for example if a person's flow of energy is ruptured because he's tired, you can give them a pat and his energy would be restored
You’re also the grandchild of this jujutsu family clan.
The reason why your clan is not known or kept a secret was because The L/N clan predominantly dedicates themselves to cleansing evil spirits that haunt humans and assisting temples across Japan.
You were sent by your grandfather to Tokyo at 2007 to have you prove yourself that you are worthy of becoming the next head of the family.
Kishibe (from chainsaw man) was your grandfather's bodyguard, yes he can also fight curses and was your mentor as well.
In the prologue, you were traveling to Tokyo and was on the same subway train as Geto.
Geto just got off from his mission and was returning back to Jujutsu Tech. He was standing in front of you while you were seated, so when you look up, you see his face and his overall energy shrouded in turmoil.

GETO SUGURU 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ
He's the main lead in this story.
Yes, it is based on "I can fix him" kind of situation.
That's already a spoiler alert.
You know how he has been in the Hidden Inventory Arc when Riko Amanai unal1v3d... He was d3pr3ssed.
And his negative thoughts has been consuming him
So I wonder, what if there's someone whom he can really talk to about all this and get the perspective on things?
And not take in what Yuki Tsukumo told him to literally 😭
To sum it up, spoiler alert, Geto x Free Therapist

GOJO SATORU 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ ᡣ
He's here to help Geto realize his feelings
I don't want to put out too many spoilers for now
He's in the same group as Geto and Ieiri

IEIRI SHOKO 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ
She's also here to help Geto realize his feelings

HAIBARA YU 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ
We'll only be seeing him in the early episodes of this SMAU

NANAMI KENTO 𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑ .ᐟ
We're also only going to be seeing him in the early episodes of this SMAU
ANOTHER DISCLAIMER!
I apologize in advance if the characters are a bit out of character. I tried to stay in character as much as possible so I kinda hope it is somewhat accurate 😭.
That's all for now. I think I might clean it up and add some more details here once I posted all the episodes! Stay tuned!
Here's the next button

More Than a Chance Encounter
Ji Suhyeon (tripleS JiYeon) x Male Reader
Tags: fluff, angst, romance
Word count: 9.2k
a/n: no smut yet, the first one really took a while to finish XD. however, a new one is in the works. for now, I hope you like this, if you are into this genre, at least.

The holiday season in one of the biggest malls in Seoul has made it crowded, as the year comes to a close in a couple of months. It still isn't as urgent and traditional like they do in America, but it's still a lot for Korea’s standards. Despite labels and posters of cheaper prices being stacked on a plethora of products, most of the supermarket is filled with the loud hum of the air conditioner as well as the movements of automaton couriers rushing in and out of the place. Nowadays, most people tend to visit to get some not so fresh nor natural, but nevertheless refreshing wind and spend time with their loved ones through various forms of recreation, entertainment, and the last reason: purchasing necessities for their families and friends. Necessities that are also known as gifts and groceries.
“How do I even use this..?” he whispers to himself, pressing all the buttons he can on the screen of the kiosk, only to end up in the same error popping up with an irritating sound that irritates even the folks behind him.
Self-checkouts at supermarkets are no longer the future because now, they’re the norm, here in the present. And yet a lot of customers are still stuck to the past, but reasonably so. Certain machines are not as simple as one would think, since these models are still new to the public, some of whom aren’t tech-savvy. This man in a suit just happens to fall into this case of generational dilemma. It’s a miracle he doesn’t even freak out yet.
“Ahjussi!” a voice roars from the end of the line. “We don’t have all night. Hurry up.”
But some would still take the advantage to shop in person during the holidays since, in most cases, it’s simply faster for people who visit after school or work. And as more and more users shop online, face-to-face customers take the advantage to buy in person just the same, especially when the couriers are taking a little longer than they want.
“Look, I’m trying to figure this thing out,” he mumbles as loud as he can. The longer he’s standing there with no solutions, the more he can feel the moisture accumulating on his scalp and realize how his fingers start to shiver under pressure. “I, um, I don’t think this thing is working. Does someone know how to fix this?”
“Maybe you broke it, old man,” another voice yells. “You should’ve just ordered online, so we didn’t have to deal with your mess!”
He can only sigh at the mockeries fired at him, but his patience remains high. Thankfully, karma finds its way to the heckler at the back, as the guard approaches and warns the pair to stop their impolite behavior. With the voice finally simmering down, the man in the suit is making some progress with the kiosk, but his ears catch footsteps getting louder and louder by the second. Clenching his fists in unease, he braces for whoever else may give him an earful.
“If I may, ahjussi…” He hears another voice from behind, now a calmer and feminine one. For some reason, his levels of anxiety begin to drop. “Let me help you with that.”
About six centimeters shorter than him, the woman’s ethereal appearance and attentive presence stuns him, prompting the man to step aside and let her deal with his problem. Despite being the very person behind him in the whole line, he didn't even notice her, since all his mind was focusing on was sorting out the kiosk by himself until he himself would have inevitably broken down due to the hecklers constantly mocking him. What surprises him is that she’s not in a uniform, yet she's able to fix his problem within half a minute, making him wonder whether or not she’s somehow from the staff.
“It’s not your fault,” she mumbles while he watches her from the side. “These kiosks are new. All you need to do is select the settings, change the method and—there! All your items are now totaled.”
He lets out a sigh of relief. “That’s really good to know. Kamsahamnida, Miss.”
She bows in response, while he hurries transferring his groceries into his shopping bag. Afterwards, the man would have gone on with his own business, but this encounter was different for him, aside from the fact that he rarely asked or received anyone’s help until the machine broke. His own machismo isn’t gonna let him be without trying to offer his assistance to the woman when she also finished her checkout a couple of minutes later. He sees her walk in his direction. “I’m sorry if I’m being a bother again, but let me help you with that too. If it’s fine with you.”
“Oh… Kamsahamnida.” Despite being taken aback by his action, she bows to him before leading the way throughout the market’s exit, where they are welcomed by the full moon in the sky. He carries three stuffed eco bags—two on the left and one on the right—while the woman carries a lighter one. She would often take a few glances at him out of concern, though he tries to reassure her with a few nods and a meager smile. A thought on her mind pushes her to help him by calling an auto-cart inside, but they’re already far from the store.
He can’t help but take a few peeks inside her bag as they stroll along the lane. While he isn’t able to see the items clearly, curiosity has already gotten the best of him. “You got a lot of stuff there. Do you mind if I ask what the occasion is? Christmas is still a couple of weeks away.”
“They’re for a family gathering.”
“Oh, mine too! I mean, it’s not unexpected, but I believe folks rarely buy stuff this early before Christmas. Let alone in person.”
“That’s true, but I’d rather not risk having delayed deliveries, considering the digital traffic… Or you know, missing some important ingredients for your recipes.”
“That’s a fair point,” he slowly nods.
“And you…” She takes a longer gaze at his eco bag. “You don’t have as much… Though it still looks heavy. Probably heavier than mine. I could’ve called an auto-cart back inside.”
“No, it’s fine,” he keeps insisting with a chuckle. “Gwenchana, seriously. I’ve carried heavier loads of paperwork than these in the past couple of years.”
“Arasseoyo, Mister Muscle,” the woman shoots back. Her raised eyebrow expresses intrigue and amusement, even if she can tell that he’s just trying to impress her to a degree, and realizing it makes her let out a chortle as they walk to the bus terminal.
He tries to continue the conversation, or at least keep babbling on from the top of his mind as they finally arrive at the lane. The only thing is—they just missed the last bus. The next ride won’t arrive for a while, unless they walk to another stop. But considering their distance to the nearest one—as well as their goods being quite a handful, neither of them seems to have the intention of doing just that.
A topic finally pops up in his mind, still driven by his curiosity about her minutes earlier. “Do you remember when those counters were still filled with cashiers? It must’ve been a kind of culture shock, finding out that we’re gonna have to check out our own groceries all by ourselves, unless we order online.”
“Yeah, I remember it clearly,” she admits with a more or less indifferent tone. “It hasn't been that long since they finally got rid of the last batch…” But the more her words come out, he senses jadedness and discouragement in her voice, despite saying a lot. “It sucks to see them leave, but what are you gonna do?” She sighs, much to his worry, even if he doesn’t know what her problem is about. “The company’s too afraid of falling behind.”
His mind compels him to do something, hoping to cheer her or lighten up the mood. “You must’ve frequented here often to know all of that… You even know how to fix a kiosk and you’re also worried about the cashiers. Are you the manager of the store?”
She keeps herself from scoffing at his genuine amazement, and the fact that he’s still basically glazing her for her mere act of assistance. “Um, no. Not as a manager, but I used to work here… As a cashier.”
“Oh…” Fuck is the first word that darts through his brain, followed by shit and crap. Immediate guilt and regret strike through his heart, believing that he’s offended her with his words. Why didn’t I think of it before? “I didn’t mean to phrase it like that. Joesonghamnida.”
“Oh, no, no!” she waves her hands in a slight panic while he starts to bow to her. “Don’t apologize. I wasn’t offended, and I understand your point, but I still work here. It’s just not my shift tonight.”
“You’re still working here?” he wonders, confused yet just as curious about the wave of conflicting info he has learned. “But I thought the cashiers had been discharged in this supermarket since last year… That’s why I thought you’d be a manager or something.”
“Most of us were,” she nods. “But some of us were lucky enough to stay here and were reassigned to other roles. I’m just a kiosk specialist now—which is just a much fancier way of saying that I’m a technician.”
They both chuckle at her remark. “I don’t see anything wrong with that,” he considers. “I think you have more experience than some folks in corpo nowadays. I think it’s always a plus when you learn things hands-on.”
“Ain’t that the truth,” she slowly nods. “Though, I don’t believe I know more than those with desk jobs. But, I do think we have as much experience when working with people.”
“Now that you’ve brought it up, people aren’t as many here compared to back then. It’s always been more convenient to shop online in the past decade. I just really think it is a bummer that a lot of workers have to be fired because our means of living have become easier now, no thanks to those bots.”
“It’s true, but I wouldn’t entirely see everything as negative,” she retorts. “As much as you’re right, there’s new jobs out there. Ones where we can start using our brains and bodies more often. Act more like a human for once, you know?”
He sees her somber smile as they lock eyes. The smile doesn’t appear to be forced, but rather wistful. Perhaps he’s been complimenting her way too much, and it’s starting to come off as annoying. Maybe she’s going through something or has been through a lot, but that’s not in his right to know, since they’ve only met. “Based on that, I’m guessing you don’t love your job. I don’t know how else to say it, since I’m just a stranger… But I hope you hang in there.”
She tilts her head while her lips pout. “Love? Hate? Hmm… I haven’t used those words to describe my jobs. Not in a while... I just know how to adapt and get used to whatever job or gig I can get by. But now that you mentioned it, I do love gaining more and more experience, just as I hate dealing with cranky customers, like that heckler from earlier.”
“But, umm,” she adds, feeling a glimmer of sincerity with what he just said. “Thanks for saying that. As a ‘fellow stranger’ myself, I appreciate it. I hope you hang in there, too.”
Amidst the winter breeze, the woman brings out a scarf from her bag and wraps it around her neck, before rubbing her hands and blowing into it. Her gestures give him an idea, which may or may not work, but that’s the least of his worries. He still feels a sense of debt and gratitude for her after she helped him out earlier—no matter how trivial it is. Perhaps due to the fact that she just happens to be beautiful and polite, maybe there is something else that he’s feeling, but he brushes it off. He doesn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable more than the frightening possibility that she already is, being with him.
“Hey, uhh… I think the next bus won’t be here for a while,” he brings up. “Would you mind if we grab a cup of coffee or tea first? Anything you’d like, really. It’s my treat.”
The woman is touched by his sudden suggestion, yet her lingering sense of pride is making her feel hesitant to accept it. “Oh, that's too much. You don’t have to…”
“It’s the least I can do, since you helped me out at the counter,” he avows. “I would’ve given you my stamp coupon from a café I often visit, but I’ve used all of it. That is… If you’re not in the rush right now. I’m just suggesting, cause it’s getting colder out here and we might need a place to warm up for a bit.”
She laughs at his honest statement, not caring whether he’s joking or telling the truth. His somewhat awkward yet honest deliveries have fascinated her for a while now. If it was like any other stranger, she would’ve left or ticked them off moments ago, but she doesn't feel too tense around him. It's in a way, refreshing. Besides, it is up to her if she will regret meeting him at a later time or not. She’s a grown woman, and if he even does anything funny, there are people everywhere. For now, she doesn’t feel like she wants to ditch him. At least, he has yet to give her a fair reason. “It’s fine, but since you’re the one offering, perhaps a cup of hot chocolate will do for me, if you don’t mind.”
“Of course, that’s perfect!” a hint of enthusiasm arises in his voice, astonished that she even went along with his improvised suggestion. “Where would you like to order?”
“Hmm… I think you should lead the way,” a smile forms on the woman’s face while placing an index finger on her chin, insinuating her anticipation. “Seems to me like you’re the café connoisseur.”
The man chortles at her compliment. “I just know quality drinks, that's for sure.”
“Though I do prefer if we go somewhere closer to here,” she requests. “Just in case we catch the next bus arriving.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” he hums. “I think I know just the place.”
He raises the three eco bags off the pavement with his care, although the woman assists him into carrying them properly. However, before she can follow his footsteps, she feels a buzzing in her pocket. Her eyes widened at the message she just received seconds ago.
“Joesonghamnida!” she suddenly bows to him in a fast sequence, her voice mirroring her rushed pace. “I got an urgent thing to do back home. But if you want, we can have coffee some other time.”
He didn’t expect her to say those latter words, but it gives him a sense of hope. That she didn’t misunderstood his intentions. But in a fit of internal panic, rummages his hands inside his messenger bag to find something. Within seconds, he pulls out a wrinkled small card at the same time the woman hails the nearest taxi cab on sight.
“Of course, of course… It’s okay! Here's my call card,” he hands it over. “Just call me up through that number and, umm, we can meet up wherever you like.”
The woman keeps the card inside her eco bag just in time as the cab stops in front of the sidewalk. Opening the backseat door for her, the man helps her get two of her shopping bags in the middle of the seat. Once everything has been sorted out, she turns to look at him—both in relief and guilt—and bows to him once more. “Kamsahamnida, ahjussi... And, uhh, Merry Christmas.”
After she heads inside the vehicle, he sees the taxi leave the mall grounds, heading into a lane of the greater concrete sea and finding a spot among the fellow school of headlights.
“I don't know what just happened,” he whispers to himself, as he sees a pair of bigger headlights approaching from a distance. As it gets closer, more and more people, most of whom are also packed with tons of holiday goods in their arms, behind him start gathering in a line. “I just hope I didn't ruin her night.”

It's been a few weeks since New Year’s passed. He hasn’t received any calls from her, but he never realized it. After spending time with his family at home, he gets back to slaving away at work through meetings with the higher-ups and on-the-spot presentations. It is still the second week of January, yet everything becomes a blur when it comes to going through his routine. Things repeat in a cycle of the mundane. That has always been the case for him, until he receives a text from an unknown number during his lunch break.
[Unknown]: Annyeonghaseyo, ahjussi. Is this Young Sungwoo?
He shakes his head. His eyes can’t believe it, but the messages keep on being sent.
[Unknown]: I don’t know if you still remember me, but this is the lady from the supermarket.
I’m really sorry for leaving out of the sudden.
I had an emergency back at home.
Whenever you’re free, would you like to have that hot chocolate you promised?
Why is she still texting me? is the first instinctive question that pops up in his mind, followed by Is this a scam?, How is this possible?, The text sounds like her, but why is she apologizing when I’m the one who kept pestering her?, This cannot be happening, among many other thoughts clashing together as the unexpected situation leaves him in a state of analysis paralysis. That's until he takes another look at her last message. The hot chocolate. Of course! How can it not be her?
Assured by the texter's identity, he spends the remainder of his break, thinking of the words to text her back before getting back to his desk, perhaps with perhaps even more effort than most of his recent individual presentations at work since returning to work.
{{Annyeonghaseyo, Miss! Yes, this is Young Sungwoo.}}
{{Gwenchanayo. I don’t mind. I do hope everything’s okay.}}
{{I’m only available after work or during the weekend.}}
{{But I can adjust my schedule if you want to meet on those days.}}
[Unknown]: If you’re free today, then I was thinking later.
Since it’s Friday, you know?
Is that possible for you?
{{That’d be great.}}
{{Do you have a place in mind?}}
The café happens to be about eight minutes walk from his work, surprisingly enough. Entering inside, he sees her at one of the fifteen tables, almost half of which is seated with other customers. As their eyes meet, she waves at him.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” she greets him with a low respectful bow, which he reciprocates before taking the seat in front of her.
“I thought this would be a nice place for us to meet since I saw your company address.”
His mouth gapes, understanding her intention. “So that’s why this place is near our building! But, uhh… I hope I didn’t make you take a long ride.”
“It’s okay, ahjussi!” She raises her hand. “My place isn't that far from here either.”
“Please, don’t call me ahjussi,” he requests with a sheepish tone, raising his tone a little. “I’m not old. I just turned thirty.”
“Well, I’m not that old,” he adds in embarrassment. The man’s lowered voice makes her giggle. “Now that I’ve basically outed my age to almost everyone here, I guess I do count as an ahjussi… But I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable.”
“Not at all,” she reassures. “Our ages are not that far after all… I’m actually twenty-six.” She then leans into him a little closer, curious at his own misgivings. “And by the way, I don’t even think you look old. You look just about our age… Even if you are an ahjussi, I wouldn’t mind lessening formalities between us.”
“Thanks.” He takes a sip of his cup. “Those hecklers at the market must’ve gotten to me.”
“They do look like they’re on the younger side,” she considers. “Kids these days, huh?”
“That’s true… But I don’t know how exactly their parents raised them, so I don’t think it’s worth holding any grudges against them. A bad day can get anyone riled up.”
His answer intrigues her. It may sound like a little lecture, but his answers resonate with her. “That’s, umm... Quite mature of you. You ever dealt with people like those at work?”
“Pretty much,” he slowly nods with instinct. “It comes with the territory, but we’ve learned that there are much better ways of discipline than screaming at them. Our generation, I mean.”
“I agree.” Her head tilts while taking a glance at him with wonder. In her mind, there’s nothing witty or insightful left for her to add. But I don’t think that should excuse them for making a mistake. They gotta learn how to better themselves.” Except for one.
His face can’t help but form a smile. Now, he doesn’t have anything to add. “Well said.”
Despite them simply being strangers who have met up for drinks, this moment feels nice and calming for them, yet something is still missing. He slowly turns to her with caution. “I–uhh–I haven’t caught your name before.”
“Oh, right,” she mumbles, her eyes growing at his realization. “I told you my age, but not my name, haha. It’s Suhyeon. And by your call card, I can assume you’re Sungwoo?” Her eyes squint with suspicion in an attempt to tease him. “Unless that was your coworker’s name, which you used just to call me or something.”
He chortles at her remark, raising his hands for a second. “That is my name. No tricks.” Sungwoo keeps his right hand raised, signaling an attempt to shake her hand. “It’s nice to meet you, Suhyeon.”
“I know, I’m just messing,” she shoots back, right before reciprocating his handshake with a welcoming smile. “And it’s nice meeting you, too, Young Sungwoo-ssi.”
Hoping to initiate their conversation this time, she tries to recall a few details from him since their previous encounter, as well as his card. “Wait, so you are from corpo right? I can’t believe you said I have more experience than the likes of you.”
He lets out a snicker. The fact that she even remembers that surprises him. “My opinion still stands. Some of my colleagues could be freeloaders whenever there’s team projects.”
She sighs just imagining some of his hardships. “That must be a chore to deal with.”
“It is at times, but like what you said, you just get used to it.” The silence is now his cue; it’s his turn to try and get to know a little more about his companion. “So, Suhyeon-ssi, what else do you do for a living, aside from being a kiosk specialist at the mall… since I remember you saying that you’re working from job to job.”
“Well, that was the case.” Her smile grows wider. “I stopped working at the mall about two weeks ago when a friend of mine recommended me to a new and more stable one.”
He puts down his now half empty cup on the table. “What’s your main job these days?”
“Starting from next week, I’m gonna be a company driver,” she informs him. “My friend works there, but I got hired through their interview and test drives.”
“I gotta say, you're quite amazing, Suhyeon-ssi. What can you not do?”
“You’ve been flattering me non-stop, Sungwoo-ssi,” she shakes her head with a snicker, before her hand instinctively reaches to the napkin box and wipes some of the stain off his sleeve. “You didn’t even notice that stain.” She looks up to see his lips, also stained with coffee foam. “And your lips—”
“Oh,” she stops just as the napkin touches his lips, realizing that her impulse has astounded him. “Joesonghaeyo.”
“No, it’s okay,” he tells her. “But I can handle it from here.” He takes the napkin from her hand, igniting a spark from her. “Thank you for noticing this. You got sharp eyes.”
“Must be a force of habit,” she quips, while avoiding eye contact with him. Her mind reflects on her unexpected, ceremonious gesture.
From that moment forward, the two would keep meeting on weekends for coffee and hot chocolate, finding the most mundane yet meaningful things to talk about inside the café. It doesn’t always happen, but when they both agree to meet up, they make the most of it. And whenever none are available, they start using their phones longer, whether through usual texts or calls, almost every weekend night. Through their sleepless hours, they get to know each other, exchanging fun facts about themselves & sharing jokes and memes. Even finding out about their favorite or least favorite things is enough to prolong their conversations from twelve midnight until two in the morning.
{{Sungwoo: Never was a fan of avocados.}}
{{But I may consider trying out this recipe.}}
[Suhyeon]: Yah! Don’t just consider (╥﹏╥) I promise, you won’t regret it!
{{Sungwoo: Fine, I will try it out.}}
{{Your ingredients on the hot pot were amazing, after all.}}
{{My colleagues and I ended up gobbling them all down within an hour.}}
[Suhyeon]: You’re welcome! ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
{{Sungwoo: And how about my recommendations? I gave you about a hundred dessert suggestions last time. I’m sure you would’ve tried some of them by now.}}
[Suhyeon]: Hmm… I’ll think about it. It was too many for me to remember a single one.
{{Sungwoo: (—_—)}}
{{Not one dessert caught your attention?}}
{{You didn’t even stop me when I was rambling.}}
[Suhyeon]: Of course, I’m kidding! I did try that coffee toffee ice cream with my buddies. For a store-bought dessert, it's top-tier, that’s for sure. Cheap one too. You really love anything coffee-related, don’t you?
{{Sungwoo: Well, it got me through college and now.}}
{{What got you through those times?}}
Sometimes, it takes a longer time for her to reply. He would think she’s introspective about something that’s trivial and mundane, or that he said something insensitive or offensive to her. Maybe he shouldn’t have brought questions like those up, but she always has an answer. Even if they sometimes come off as dismissive or evasive, Suhyeon’s insight resonates with him, to a past that even he rarely calls back to.
[Suhyeon]: Oh, you know… My friends and family. I’m sorry if that sounded cliche, but you get my point, right? Getting through college wasn’t easy for me. For pretty much anyone else, really.
{{Sungwoo: No need to apologize, Suhyeon-ssi.}}
{{You got a point there.}}
[Suhyeon]: But that’s way back in the past. I’m quite content with what I got now. For the most part.
{{Sungwoo: I couldn’t agree more.}}
However, both of them are well aware that both or either of these pale in comparison to their meetings in person. Nothing beats the real thing, as a lot would say. Aside from coffee and chocolate, they would start ordering other drinks for once, sometimes even snacks they can munch on after work while they rant or share their thoughts. They found their own little ecosystem within the café’s area. Most talks would last for thirty to forty minutes, sometimes an hour—if not a few minutes longer, if they can’t help it.
Though, it never usually lasts more than that. Suhyeon whines that her parents have a less strict curfew for her even in her mid-twenties, which raises his eyebrow—though he never bothered to ask for any elaboration. She’d do the same thing for him, though there seems to be no problem with him answering her questions like he’s an open book.
“How about you then?” Because of Sungwoo’s amiable views and easy-going demeanor, Suhyeon eventually returns his curiosity by asking him about his occupation more than the call card he gave her about last December. “You must’ve been a marketing manager at your company at this point. You’ve read a lot of trends from the palm of your hand.”
“That’s flattering… But I am not there yet,” he confesses, wearing a simper on his face. “I don’t think I’ll even get there in a while. While being a no-name marketing specialist has its ups, you gotta deal with the rest of your team or even suck up to the older higher ups just to convince them that your idea is worth pushing through. I even don’t have any other time or the privilege to spend on outside work, at least besides these hours.”
“Hmm… You’re not alone. My friends are way out of my league… One’s a gourmet chef. The other’s banker. The other two even got promoted to higher positions just recently!” she lets out a deep sigh. “Until now, I still question why they are still hanging out with me…. Why they’re even making time for me.”
He doesn’t know how else to feel but amazement. “They must be great friends. Just considering how highly you speak of them.”
“Oh, they are!” she exclaims with enthusiasm, only for it to dip down within seconds. “It’s just… Ugh. I don’t wanna admit it, but I feel like I’m just being a burden to them whenever I meet up with them outside.” She places each of her cheeks on her palms, slowly rubbing them up and down as she groans with lower spirits.
“Don’t think of it that way,” he insists. “You still have a lot ahead of you, and plus, you’re not alone. There is nothing burdensome about having close friends… They rely on you as much as you rely on them. Clearly, you all care for each other.”
His words slowly warms Suhyeon’s heart. “Seems like you have good friends yourself.”
“Had,” he retorts. “Most of my friends are just being slaves to our work like myself. Even some of them are staying at home, raising their children, like almost twenty-four seven.”
Her glassy eyes are filled with sympathy and consolation, making her turn her head away from him for a moment as she puffs. Sungwoo senses her vulnerable moment.
“Everyone has their reasons or excuses why they’re busy, I get that... Life just happens.”
What he said casts a gloom over her in the form of less pleasant memories resurfacing.
“Sungwoo-ssi,” she mutters, keeping her own voice from trembling. “I–uhh…”
“What is it, Suhyeon?”
“Nothing,” she clears her throat. “It’s just… What you said was really something. I hope your friends got to do whatever they wanted back then. Not everyone gets to reach their dreams the way they expected, you know?”
“That’s true, but even if that seems to be the case, life doesn't stop after your twenties. I mean, it shouldn’t!” he asserts as a hopeful smile forms on his face. “And that is coming from someone who just left that chapter.”
She turns to him, reading his face. “Sounds like you've had regrets in your twenties.”
“Well, I can't deny that…” He chuckles at her deduction, not out of mockery, but the fact she has read his expression too well. “But then again, don't we all have those at some point?”
The woman gulps at his rhetorical question, but her once facade of somber eyes flare up. Her left hand slowly squeezes her empty coffee cup until the rest of her fingers meet her thumb around it. Keeping his hands clasped under the table, Sungwoo’s peripherals can sense her pent-up emotions slowly breaking out through her actions, although he does not say anything about it. Despite his concern, he knows that she doesn’t have to open up if she’s not ready. Yet for Suhyeon, taking in his honest words cools her down—in a fashion that’s familiar to her. “Butterflies” would be a cliche of a word to describe it. She remembers all too well how she has used that word about someone else before, and how it ended up to where she is now. The good, the bad, and the ugly of it all.
“I’m sure you'll get to reach what dreams you want to do,” he looks at her with solace. “Even if you don't realize what they are just yet. I hope you don’t give up on it.”
She stares into the blank space, considering his words, even though most of her mind has always been discouraging her from imagining anything. Pipe dreams won't get us anywhere, she reminds herself. And why are you even here? This is the last place you should be. But turning to him once again, Suhyeon senses the last thing she’d expected to happen in a long time. Her heart slowly beating faster. You should stop meeting him. Looking down on the floor, the woman just realizes the moisture building up in her eyes.
As tears begin to pour down her face, Suhyeon looks at Sungwoo once again, seeing his hand holding a piece of napkin in front of her. While sniffling, she looks up to his face. He doesn’t say or ask anything, except for the words, “Are you alright?”
“I... uhh... I don't know... But thank you,” she mumbles. Taking the white cloth from his hand, she begins to feel a familiar rhythm within her. One that’s growing louder than the lo-fi music that’s playing on the speakers.
But amidst their moment of bliss, they watch a child entering the café door—standing with daze and confusion while everyone else also looks at her with curiosity, adoration, or concern. Sungwoo expects the nearby young cashier or anyone else to approach and calm her down, yet instead, a collected Suhyeon walks to the girl first with an amiable and sympathetic approach. He follows her, astonished at her initiative and attention, though his worry still lingers for her due to her own moment of vulnerability earlier.
“Hey, little girl,” she kneels on her level. “Are you alright? Why are you here alone?”
“I…” The girl’s voice cracks as she starts to break down in tears. “I don’t know where my eomma and appa are!”
“It’s okay, don’t cry,” she holds her closer, comforting the sobbing child with a slow pat and caress to her back. “Don’t worry, we’ll find her, arachi? What’s your name?”
“Ha…Eun,” she sniffles. “My name… Is Haeun… What… Should I… call you, eomonim?”
Suhyeon uses the napkin to wipe off her tears. “My name is Suhyeon,” she turns to him with a gaze of trust. “And this ahjussi’s name is Sungwoo. You’re gonna be staying with us for a while. We can get you anything you want while we look for your parents.”
Hearing it from her again, he oddly doesn’t mind the term this time. Maybe it’s just the context it’s used that bothered him before, but as it left her mouth, it sounds—normal. It sounds complimentary. “Hello, Haeun-ah,” he greets her. “Do you have anything we can use to help you find your parents? Do you memorize their phone numbers?”
“I don’t—*hic*—know, ahju—*hic*—ssi…” Haeun tries telling him through her hiccups.
Suhyeon notices the lanyard on Haeun’s neck, finding the girl’s ID. “Haeun-ah… Can I take a look at this for a second?”
The girl nods, allowing Suhyeon to inspect the back of the ID. Her guess proves her right. “It has a phone number,” she informs Sungwoo and everyone else in the café, filling up the once disquiet and tense café with optimism. “We can call your parents, Haeun-ah!”
Almost twenty minutes later, a couple storms inside the café with faces of fright and disquietude. “Haeun-ah!” they cry to her. Their unease dwindles down at the second they find their daughter sitting on the table beside Suhyeon and in front of Sungwoo, taking a sip of her own smaller cup of hot chocolate.
“Eomma, appa!” Haeun rejoices, running to them in the middle of the café as her parents wrap her in a warm embrace, prompting cheers from the staff and some customers. Sungwoo can only smile at their precious moment, though he sees Suhyeon letting out a sigh in relief—droplets of sweat start to drip out of her scalp. Yet it also fascinates him that her smile grows much wider.
“Kamsahamnida, Miss!” Haeun’s parents bow to them in a rapid succession, bowing as low as their heads can reach. “Kamsahamnida, Sir! I don’t know how we can repay you. Thank you so much for looking out for our daughter.”
“Gwenchanayo,” she reassures them, holding each of their arms in hopes that they stop bowing to them—which they eventually do. “Just keep looking out after your daughter.”
Another several minutes pass. The sun had already set and rush hour had just begun. Suhyeon and Sungwoo have exited the café, taking a stroll to the nearby bus stop. With no words leaving any of their mouths, they’re only hearing the horns of whining drivers along with their own footsteps. She’s quieter around him, ever since he saw her in tears. It’s the first time she hasn’t spoken to him on their way home.
“You know how to handle that pretty well,” he praises her. “Have you ever considered being a nursery or kindergarten teacher?”
Her eyes widen, realizing something that only she knows. “I have to go,” she tells him with a fast and weak pace, contrasting her enthusiasm earlier. “I’m really sorry about this, Sungwoo.”
“Oh… It’s fine!” He wants to ask why, but he stops himself. He doesn’t have the right. Besides, it’s not the first time she’s told and left out of the sudden, he nudges himself. Even if she doesn’t tell the reason... Even if she won’t tell him the reason the moment they text tonight, like nothing strange ever happened. “Take care… Suhyeon-ssi.”
= = =
Three weeks have passed. Things start to drift apart. Suhyeon stopped texting first after the first week, but Sungwoo didn’t stop. Both people have had sleepless nights, but they never meet. Not even text as often as they did. Due to the gradual fall in their digital and personal interaction, Sungwoo eventually stops taking initiative. As their respective lives go on, he does his best not to succumb to the temptation of texting her over and over, to the point she becomes uncomfortable like he’s often feared since they met.
Of course, it would be far from the last time he receives a text from her.
[Suhyeon]: Hey, Sungwoo-ssi. Can we meet?
No coffee or chocolate. No avocados or desserts. Just each other’s chilling presence and their own breaths warming up this winter afternoon. He notices her new look. It’s not a uniform, but it’s a little more formal than the previous attires he saw her in.
He simply wants to tell her that she’s beautiful, yet his more soured and stubborn self wants to ask her why it took her this long, even though he knows that her personal life has never been his business, nor should it be.
“It’s been a while,” he breaks the awkward silence with a sigh. “Is everything alright?”
“Things have…” Her eyes are darted on the ground, her hands clenching on her knees. “Gotten busier at work.”
He senses that something else is troubling her mind, but he doesn’t want to get ahead of himself. He’s nothing but a friend, perhaps a mere close acquaintance to her. Someone who she can confide her most trivial problems to, and only that. But despite this meek and unassertive thought, he believes that—deep down—that may just be for the better.
“I don’t think I’ll be meeting you in a while,” she continued before he could’ve answered.
“It’s okay,” he said without a tone of complaint. “I understand that. No pressure.”
Such a response struck a nerve in her or punched through her gut. As if that’s not the answer she had hoped for from the man. “What if I don’t see you longer than that?”
“Then…” He wants her to explain why she’s asking him such a question, but he tries to remain reasonable, no thanks to his self-doubt. “I’ll understand if you can’t meet up.”
He feels like himself in the past. Spineless. Dishonest. Numb. Helpless. Coward. Yet another part of him keeps fighting on, despising those traits, not for his own sake, but for her. Since they started meeting up and talking, Sungwoo has known a lot about her, yet there’s still so much he doesn’t know. The same goes for Suhyeon, but he thinks she cares little about that. There is an invisible barrier between them that has been keeping them from going further than this. Whatever this is.
And now, after a few months of making a connection with this wonderful woman, his mind braces for the worst case scenario, just as his heart foresees his fears. Is this it?
Their eyes meet, reading a few glimpses through each other’s souls. Broken. Deprived. Lonely. Yearning. She looks down on his face, his lips now appearing much closer. Her heartbeats do not deceive her, deafening her fear. No words follow from their mouths, only each other’s breaths becoming clearer and louder with each second. Giving in to the whispers of her temptation, Suhyeon gets up from her seat and inches towards him.
Frozen in the moment, their lips touch. Sungwoo melts into the kiss, closing her eyes with her. Seconds pass, warmth turns into a burning sensation. Sweetness turns to hunger, one that neither of them have felt in forever. As the man reciprocates her gesture, the irresistible tingle she’s feeling urges her tongue to slide into his—
“Mianhaeyo,” she takes a few steps back away from him, appalled by her own impulse while catching up her breath. “I… I shouldn't have done that—”
Sungwoo remains frozen for a second, but not his heart. He leans himself closer into her this time, embracing her as the beat of their hearts sync with the rhythm of their second kiss. With their eyes closed once again, Suhyeon doesn’t fight back. Instead, she slowly wraps her arms around his nape in order to pull him closer until their chests collide.
It would be the last time the pair would’ve met…
If it wasn’t for Sungwoo’s stubbornness. Even if it costs whatever they had, he wants to know how she's been doing ever since. Even if she made the move, he either can’t help but blame himself as the reason why she stops reaching out to him after that meetup.
{{Suhyeon-ssi.}}
{{I don’t know what happened then.}}
{{I'm really sorry for kissing you.}}
{{But I know something else is on your mind.}}
{{You can talk to me.}}
{{Like you always have.}}
{{Please text back. Or call me.}}
{{Just tell me you’re okay.}}
{{Or if you’re not.}}
{{If you really don’t want to meet again. I’ll understand.}}
{{But I’ll always be here.}}

Another week has passed, and Sungwoo goes on with his usual life—yet, the presence of Suhyeon still lingers on his mind. From the bar to the PC bang, he tries to do everything he can to get the woman off his thoughts. Even online dating—as some of his coworkers suggested to him lately… So he does, and after his twenty-third swipe, he hits it off with someone, much to his own surprise. “You must be Hyewon… Or is it Belle?” he corrects himself immediately. “Your profile has two names. I don’t know what to call you.”
She chuckles at his hesitant question. “Any will do… And you are Sungwoo-ssi, if I am not mistaken?”
Things are taking off for them in the next half an hour. He compliments her appearance. She laughs at his jokes, whether they’re forced or not. They talk about their opinions on certain topics. He fails to read her signals. It’s a start, he admits with little confidence.
But on that same Saturday night, he receives a phone call from an unknown number. He can just ignore the call, let the other party leave a message after the beep, maybe he can hang out with Belle a little longer, see how things go. Unfortunately for himself and his date, he can’t help but be Sungwoo. As someone who has spent his life through his job, every call for him has become an obligation.
He answers it with some caution. “This is Young Sungwoo speaking. Who is this?”
But that voice. Her voice. It's something that he can never forget. “It’s me, Ji Suhyeon. This is my company’s number… I’m sorry if I surprised you. I’m just finishing my shift for the night, and…”
She stops. And despite the past few times they’ve talked on the phone, he can now sense her hesitation from the other side. “You can say it. I won’t mind.”
“Well, I just thought of you,” she completes her words. “Plus, I owe you an apology. In ways more than one.”
He can hear his own heart, making that familiar rhythm. Whenever he was with her.
“It’s okay, Suhyeon,” he stammers, but immediately clears his throat. “How are you?”
“Could be worse, to be honest…” A deep breath from her fills the dead air for a few seconds before Sungwoo can hear her voice again. “Are you free… This weekend?”
There it is. It’s his chance. Maybe his last one.
“You know I am,” he tries to play it cool with her, yet he quickly realizes how awkward he sounded. “I mean, of course... Same place?”
He can hear Suhyeon let out a light chuckle for a moment. “Maybe not at the café,” she suggests. “But somewhere else. If that’s fine with you.”
It’s about the nth time they said those words to each other. But hearing it from her once again is a breath of fresh air. “Elsewhere would be nice, too.”
Returning to the bar, his eyes scan most of the place, only to find that his date is no longer around. He receives a message.
[Belle:] Sorry for dipping early, but I got a thing. We can still hang out another time if you want.
Strangely enough, he doesn’t feel a sense of disappointment. Sure, he’s bummed out he fumbled the date with the first woman he met online in years, but he’s not too bummed out about it because of her. Instead, he couldn't feel any luckier because of this call.
= = =
It’s the fourth of May. Instead of the usual café, they decided to meet at the park outside. They take a seat next to each other on one of the benches, albeit keeping a wide distance. He’s on the left corner, with her on the right. Amidst the silence of the background, they see each other in their springtime attire. Suhyeon is in a brighter dress and jeans, while Sungwoo is finally not wearing a suit for once; instead, he’s wearing a blue short sleeve. Whether or not today ends up being the last time they meet, both of them agree on one thing: it’s about time that they meet each other in the early morning for the first time.
“You look beautiful,” he scratches his head, finally listening to his heart instead of letting his own brain filter his thoughts until they sound more logical or interrupts himself with more filler words.
She looks down in embarrassment, hiding her reaction as she senses her cheeks slowly heating up. “Thank you,” she mumbles. “You look nice, too, Sungwoo-ssi.”
“Thanks… But can we talk about what happened last time—” he continues.
“I know,” Suhyeon interjects with a soft-spoken tone. She takes a deep breath, before looking up to face him. “But I have to tell you something first, if that’s okay.”
“Of course,” he straightens his sitting posture while their eyes level. “What is it?”
The woman gulps involuntarily. “There’s another job I haven't told you about… And it’s not that simple. It’s not that I don’t wanna meet you, Sungwoo, even if I'm busier... It’s just… I don’t know how to say this.”
“Take your time.” Sungwoo doesn’t know why she's suddenly talking about her job, yet he keeps listening, sensing her state of distress and hesitation. “Whatever that may be, and as long as you love it, I’m happy for you. I don’t think our… situation should get in the way of your…”
There it is again, she thinks. “Why shouldn’t it?”
“Because that’s your job,” he counters. “It’s your life… And besides, I can just adjust.”
“I don't think you can.” She can’t keep on lying and hiding like this. He has to know, even if it ruins things, ends things even. “Sungwoo-ssi. The thing is…”
“What is it? I’m sure it’s nothing bad—”
“I have a child, Sungwoo.”
She looks at him with a fortified expression, yet deep down, she feels the most nervous. Especially when his eyes widen after hearing those four words, her thoughts go all over the place, stricken with panic and despair. Not even air comes out from his mouth that moment, something that only intensifies Suhyeon’s unease as his silence lasts seconds.
“Did you just hear what I said?” she asks him up front, slightly raising her voice in an attempt to keep herself from crumbling from within. “I’m a single mother.”
“This job, this responsibility of mine isn’t easy,” she continues before he can make any response, clenching both her fists and finally pouring her heart out. “It never has been. Every year, you get into family gatherings. Not only do you help prepare them, but you buy gifts for your relatives, yet all you get from some of them are blames and lectures for what’s happened to you. And whenever you're with friends, you gotta put on a bolder face just to ask them to look out for the kid while you work your ass off in different jobs from morning ‘till afternoon—or whenever you're applying for one… But there's things I don't regret, at least with what I have now. And no matter how hard things get, I don’t regret keeping him. Raising him.”
At that moment, some things have become clearer to him. Their long and wholehearted talks about life and dreams. The unusual curfew and her leaving out of the sudden. Her encounter with the little girl. Her pent-up emotions finally cracking around him. Now, he realizes why she never told him more of her life, rooted out of the fear and distress that she will be rejected, lambasted, patronized, or looked down on, like everyone else in her life.
“And just like meeting you that night… It’s something that I don’t regret either,” she confesses. “Even if that was some silly chance encounter, it was one of the times I felt something new. So I called you that day to see where it goes, and here we are… But of course—a part of me still keeps telling me: Let it go. You’re a mother now. You don't deserve to have these feelings... You're just giving yourselves a hard time.”
Sungwoo looks at her face. His mind and heart tells her to hold her hand. Say anything. Do anything to comfort her, now that she’s told him the truth about the barrier that has been keeping them from going the distance for months.
Suhyeon’s heart starts to tighten with every beat, seeing his look of guilt and sorrow. It's not the first time she's seen it from someone. “If you don’t want to see me, after this… I'll understand, Sungwoo... I was the one who invited you into whatever-this-thing-is to begin with, didn’t I?”
“No,” he tells her without hesitation. “That doesn’t change what I think about you.”
“It should…” she mutters in defeat, shameful to even look him in the eye as she says it.
“What you said, it only proved what I already thought of you… You’re a wise, beautiful, hardworking, independent, and fearless woman,” he elaborates, allowing himself to be vulnerable with Suhyeon. “And for you to keep that part of your life for long—it must’ve been a pain. It’s something that I can’t imagine. I’m sorry I didn’t ask you sooner. About how you were really feeling. What you’re going through—”
“Don't,” she interjects with disdain, but not for him. It’s too late, Suhyeon thinks while her mouth remains shut. You’ve heard this before. Look at what happened to us. “I’m tired of people telling me that they're sorry. It's not your fault why I'm like this.”
“I know… I’m sorry because I wasn’t attentive enough. That I wasn’t courageous enough,” he adds. “But I am not sorry that it doesn't change how I feel about you.”
Her eyes widen, her mouth agape in shock. Staring through his soul, waves of emotions start to clash deep down in her heart—Awe. Doubt. Denial. Mistrust. Misunderstanding. Fear. Warmth. Comfort. Growth. Excitement. Hope. Joy. Acceptance—while a stream of conflicting thoughts flood her mind. This was bound to happen sooner or later. What’s the point of this? You never had a chance. He’s one of them. You’re a disgrace for ever being here. He'll just leave you. Go home with your son and your parents. There’s no point in hoping, Ji Suhyeon. “Sungwoo-ssi…”
“I like you, Suhyeon-ssi,” he finally affirms, with much stronger conviction in his voice. “I don’t know if it means anything to you, but that’s the truth… I don’t care what comes after this. But I just want you to know that there's no shame in what you are, and what you're going through… I'll always be here for you.”
Suhyeon’s inner thoughts and misgivings shut down. In turn, her heart starts to sing without shame, rejoicing and reaching ranges she hasn't felt in years, as it yearns for something more. His earnest gentleness. His soothing scent. His comforting touch. Unbeknownst to her, he feels just about the same.
She rushes to Sungwoo, laying her head on his chest and wrapping her arms around him. He places his right hand on her head, caressing it. That warm comfort that she’s been longing for, it’s within her grasp. Tears of jubilation begin to drip from her face down to his shirt, as she breathes easier. “Gomawoyo, Sungwoo.”
Gently pulling away from their embrace, she leans back to look at him closely with a warm and grateful smile that mirrors his, letting out a chuckle of relief. “And I like you, too.”
A smile quickly forms on Sungwoo’s face, prompting him to give her a peck on the lips. As she giggles, Suhyeon prolongs the act with a longer, sweeter kiss of acceptance. From this day forward, their months of week to week encounters and meetups at the café end, as a new chapter of their lives awaits. It is unknown as it is promising, exciting as it is frightening. But at least they have each other to face it head-on. Together.
= = =
a/n: hello again! if you've reached the end, then you must've read a good chunk of it. it's not my proudest work, even if it's only my second one, tho I liked writing it for the most part. still, I wanna publish it, 'cause I don't want it to stay in my drafts lol. once again, the aforementioned next fic from earlier is already in progress. anyhoo, thanks for the read. My personal body headcanons for the Batfam
Bruce: He is a tank made of pure muscle. Like many other users have put forward (recommend especially @frownyalfred posts on the matter), that's not an easy feat to pull off. It is a testament to Bruce's willpower and dedication to Batman that he's even able to maintain it. Also, I think he took really good care of his scars in the beginning so they would be as inconspicuous as possible when sleeping around as Brucie. Once he gets older and leans more into the father persona he stops caring as much for anything that's going to be covered by his suits and shirts.
Barbara: I hated the fact that her disability got completely erased, so that's the first difference. If you want to have her be Batgirl again, you should do what Gotham Knights did and make it so there are lasting effects and limitations. I'm sorry, but it feels so cheap to me that they just erased disability rep cause they didn't know how to write a strong disabled woman. Skill issue. Also Barbara is built like a brick in my heart of hearts, she's a rectangle with the density of a neutron star. I also think she has one of the healthiest and normal diets of the Bats, mainly cause the physical requirements of Oracle aren't nearly as demanding.
Dick Grayson: I'm not going to reinvent the wheel here by saying Dick Grayson has the perfect acrobat's body. My headcanon is that he gets it naturally. Not that he can just do whatever you want, sadly with their line of work you need to meet a series of requirements. I mean it in the sense of 1) proportions 2) really high metabolism from constant exercise since he was a child, probably the fastest tied with Cass 3) he doesn't need to work out as much outside patrol as the rest to keep his body mass. Every single robin after him low-key hates him for creating a fighting style that only he can do effortlessly.
Cassandra Cain: like mother like daughter, my girl is thick. None of that waifish, delicate ballerina shit. She's short and she has muscles most humans haven't heard of. Average goon tries to knock this 5 feet nothing girl only to be met by an unmovable object. Also, probably contender for top most scarred bat of all. She just looks like she could fuck your shit up without breaking a sweat and that's probably because she could. Also I think she has short legs, giving her an even lower center of gravity. She's just a brick wall.
Jason Todd: my man is one of the few bitches in this family with a normal, healthy, percentage of body fat. He's built like a strong man instead of a body builder, and the fact that he can be sneaky with all that mass is terrifying. I think for a minute there he wondered what he was doing wrong and why he didn't look as lean as Bruce. Then he figured what Bruce had to do to keep Batman's body in line and Jason said "fuck that, I'm not doing all that". In his villain self destructive era that waist was snatched, but the second he started taking actual care of his body it did what body's do. Considering how he mixes so many fighting techniques I can see him building his fighting style around his needs instead of the other way around.
Steph: she's the curviest of the Batgirls, which is why she favors so much the "indistinct blob" silhouette. As any woman with a boobs size above an B cup will tell you: people get disgusting really quick. I think part of her struggles with Robin was trying to wrangle her developing body into a fighting style designed for a very naturally lean boy. Balancing is harder when you have a large set of bazonkers, they don't tell you this in the comics but it is the truth. She also lacks the super fast metabolism other Bats have, and I can see her trying really hard to fit in the mold only to realize as she grows older that she can do her own thing.
Tim: I think Tim, growing up as society kid and then forcing himself into the Robin role, never learned what eating healthy is. I headcanon him having some sort of ED (I think he would evolve through a few of them as he grew up), not because I like throwing angst at characters (though I do) but because it makes sense to me giving his background and personality. EDs are not only about "looking thin", but also about feeling in control. Also, Tim hanging onto the Robin title reminds me of child actors trying to force their developing body's to stop at a kid size so they can keep playing their character. I could write a whole post about it, but for what's relevant, the ED headcanon doesn't mean Tim is just super thin. I think his body is fluctuates the most out of any of the Bats, depending on where he's at mentally and age wise.
Duke Thomas: my boy is built for parkour. He's got the longest limbs in the family, he's got the reach. He keeps waiting for puberty to hit him like a train and give him Jason/Bruce levels of muscle mass, but he's just too tall. Like, yes, he can bench press Jason, but proportionally he's so much taller than all of them by then he just looks noodly. When he puts on the body armor though he makes Batman look like a Barbie doll. Anytime he's looming about, Jason accuses him of overcompensating. Duke just pretends to not be able to hear him from up above. Also pls DC give him long hair that floats around him in the same way Batman's cape does?? Pls, just give him magic girl hair that defies gravity.
Damian: I've said this before but this poor child grew up being told he'd one day be as huge as his dad but grows up to be Talia 2.0. I think he does inherit Bruce's height, but is distraught to never be hulking mountain of muscle like OG Batman. Little does he know Bruce isn't naturally that big either, and it's only through frankly unhealthy means he maintained that body. Everyone else agrees to never tell Damian about it so he won't even think to try it, and instead focus on reassuring him he's more than strong enough to inherit the title if that's what's bothering him. It ends up playing in his favor, Cass is proof that you don't need to be huge to instill the fear of God into people. And the way he moves, like a panther stalking his prey, is more than enough to make the rogues quake.

We Make A Better Pair; Nanami Kento x Reader
(pre-relationship + wife!reader)
It was safe to say your husband was not thrilled at the sheer amount of people in your home. It was louder than normal, and as the minute hand ticked closer to showcasing it being nine in the evening, you felt more than heard him sigh once more.
It was a Friday evening, and the pair of you had had nothing super planned for the weekend. Some grocery shopping, light cleaning, just spending time together.
Except the pair of you found your home hosting a party— thrown by none other than Gojo Satoru.
You, while not in on the planning, couldn’t say you were too upset by it. After all— you had yet to meet the students from the school officially.
Kento, however, was holding off trying to murder your white haired friend, if only not to spill blood on the rug.
“Nanami!” Speak of the devil, your husband shifted, body tense next to yours.
Admittedly, you chuckled, the pair not having changed that much since high school.
“Come here!” He waved over enthusiastically, a large grin on his face, looking almost childlike.
With a sigh that indicated he would rather do anything else, Kento leaned over, placing a quick kiss to your cheek, before going over to Gojo, grumbling under his breath.
His seat was quickly filled, however, and you looked over curiously, meeting the enthusiastic gaze of one of the students, Itadori Yuji.
You smiled at him, he was easy to feel relaxed around, you figured, despite being the host for Sukuna.
The other two, Fushiguro Megumi, who you had known for a bit, and Kugisaki Nobara, who you heard of from Gojo, followed him, sitting on the seats nearby.
“Hello you three,” You sipped your water, eyebrow quirking at how Itadori was practically vibrating next to you.
“I’m sorry,” Fushiguro spoke first, reminding you so much of your husband dealing with Gojo’s antics, “I told them to mind their own business.”
“Oh like you aren’t curious!” Kugisaki snapped, elbowing him.
“What—”
“How did you and Nanamin meet?” Itadori sounded so excited to ask, eyes shining, “He doesn’t tell us anything personal, and I totally get that! But Gojo was saying that he’s the reason you two are married and you two owe all your happiness to him.”
You chuckled, looking over to where Gojo was talking Kento’s ear off, your husband doing nothing to hide the disinterested look on his face.
“A man like Gojo wouldn’t be able to pull off some elaborate or in depth plan for a successful couple,” Kugisaki huffed, crossing her arms.
“Well, you aren’t entirely wrong.”
“Huh?” The louder of the three leaned in closer, confusion on their faces.
“So Gojo did help you two get together?”
You shrugged, making a so-so gesture with your hand, “Like I said— not exactly.”
They looked so curious, hanging onto your words, and you grinned, cheeks feeling a bit warm at the attention.
“We did all go to school together, and well, I wasn’t the best at hiding my crush.”
“Again.”
You felt winded— scratch that, more than winded. You wonder if this is what it felt like to die. Staring up at the clear blue sky, you decided it wouldn’t be so bad to die here.
Round, black glasses appeared before you, and the peaceful death was quickly interrupted.
“C’mon,” Your upperclassman pouted, looking more like a child than your mentor, “I haven’t even broken a sweat yet!”
Groaning, you forced yourself to sit up, muscles aching in your core as you did so, “This is pointless.”
“It’s not pointless,” Geto spoke from the opposite side, hands in his pockets as he watched the two of you, “Your technique isn’t very physical, you need to know how to defend yourself against users, curses and techniques.”
“And I get that,” You did— you’d already had countless nightmares of losing your life to a curse, rather violently, “But this just feels like Gojo is showing off.”
He grinned, doing nothing to deny your accusations.
Geto sighed, shooting an exasperated look at his counter, “Be that as it may,” So be was just showing off, “The lessons still the same.”
“I’m never planning on going on missions by myself!” Normally you were rather respectful to your upperclassmen, but right now they were getting under your skin, you were sore and tired and hot and hungry and— “So this is pointless! My technique is borderline useless!”
The two watched, quiet, whether stunned or curious you didn’t know, and you stood, dusting off the grass and dirt.
“Your technique isn’t useless,” Apparently your shouting had gathered a small crowd, and your face turned red, not merely from exhaustion, as you heard Nanami’s voice, “I personally can see you being a rather valuable asset on any future missions.”
“See!” Gojo moved quickly, doing his best to wrap an arm around Nanami’s shoulders, “That’s why we’re training together! You’ll be the best teammate to have on missions in no time!”
Nanami’s eye twitched at Gojo’s close proximity, and you heard Haibara laugh, most likely at his friends annoyance.
“I doubt training with you does anything to help strengthen her technique.”
Gojo snorted, pushing himself away from the blonde, “Please— I’m the best there is. Therefore, I’m the best to train with.”
“I have some qualms with that statement,” You muttered under your breath, though from the semi amused look Nanami sent you, he clearly heard.
“Your technique is far different, at this rate you’re just going to exhaust and overwhelm her, or anyone else for that matter. You’re supposed to be helping her with her technique, not you with yours.”
Gojo rolled his eyes, a dramatic groan as he listened to Nanami lecture him. Despite how often your blonde-haired classmate got annoyed with your upper classman, the scene before you never got old. Sometimes you wondered how Nanami wasn’t the upperclassman between the two.
Geto sighed, though the sound was more fond than annoyed, and he stepped forward, tugging Gojo’s collar, halting the conversation between the pair, “Come on, Satoru. You were just messing around and you know it,” Gojo didn’t deny it, but gave his friend an afronted look.
“Now that I think about it,” You shot him a confused look as your upperclassman turned to look at you, a pondering look on his face, though the smile never left his face, “Your technique would probably be a better asset on a mission with Nanami than with me or Gojo. Your next mission, I think the two of you should pair up. It’s only a grade two, so together you two should have no issues.”
Before you could think to argue, Geto turned to Haibara, “Come on, Satoru is going to treat us to lunch.”
Your classmate grinned, excited at the offer, already chatting the pairs ears off as he waved goodbye to you and Nanami, Gojo sending you an over the top wink as he followed after them. Your face was in flames, and you wanted nothing more than to curl up and hide.
“You were being sent on a mission with Geto?”
You turned, awkwardly tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear, “He had requested it, as a way to work on my technique.”
He hummed, head tilting as he took in your words, “I see. I’m sorry, then, I imagine you’d have much rather gone on the mission with him.”
“No!” You almost yelped the word out, startling both him and yourself, “I mean… no. He’s right, my technique would have only done but so much with him and his curses, you know?” You laughed clumbsily, “We make a better pair.”
He raised an eyebrow, and it took you a moment to realize how your phrasing could be interpreted, “In the sense that your technique could be— that I could be more useful to you. That’s all.”
The next moment was something that caught you by surprise, as Nanami chuckled, a soft smile on his face, one that was directed at you. You had seen that smile a few times before, mostly directed at Haibara, and often found yourself envious of your classmate in those moments.
“I agree,” He spoke finally, the smile still on his face, “I’ll admit, I’ve been wanting to go on a mission with you for quite some time.”
“Really?” You were worried he may be able to hear your heart with how fast it was beating.
“Your technique is something that’s rather interesting, unique in it’s own way, and well,” The small smile grew, and you cursed both Geto and Gojo right there for getting you in over your head, “The way you use it, your fighting technique, you’re very strong. I admire you.”
“That’s it?” Nobara sounded almost offended, an annoyed look on her face, “That blind-folded idiot made it seem like he set you two up on a blind date or something!”
“He’s not slick enough to have been able to do that,” You shook your head, “He just stood by as we were paired up for our first mission. It’s nothing too exciting, we started going on more missions together whenever we could, and eventually we began hanging out outside of school. It got harder after…” You trailed off.
This wasn’t entirely your story to tell, and you glanced over to your husband, arms crossed as he dealt with both Gojo and Shoko, “There was a lot that happened to us, in a short span of time. In a way, that solidified Kento’s and my relationship.”
A dreamy sigh left Nobara, leaning forward to stare off in the distance longingly, “High school sweethearts.”
“That does seem like something Nanamin would do,” Itadori nodded, a simple smile on his face as he looked at you.
“Well, we’re not exactly high school sweethearts. We dated back then, yes, but we broke up a bit after our third year. We had different ideas of our futures, he wanted out of this world, and I couldn’t bring myself to leave it,” Couldn’t bring yourself to leave Gojo or Shoko, and a selfish part of you had wanted Kento to stay there as well, as if things hadn’t changed how they had.
The look on both Nobara and Itadori’s face made you feel slightly bad, like you had told them fairytales didn’t exist, ripped the rug out from under them. No doubt Gojo had told Megumi this story before, probably to annoy your husband, judging from the board look on his face.
“We met up again years later, and we talked, eventually got back together. And then he did come back here, and I’m no longer at the school, so we switched in a way.”
“Why did you end up leaving? Gojo says you were a good teacher, and Panda always talks about the snacks you used to give them when they were training. All Gojo does is tell us to buy him a soda from the vending machine for him.”
“Yeah, and he has loads more money than us!” Itadori chimed in.
“Ah well,” You felt your cheeks flush, “I… Kento and I are expecting. He didn’t want me anywhere near the school or the elders or curses or curse users to be careful.”
“He’s going to be a dad?”
“Holy shit, really?”
“Congrats.”
You laughed at their responses, shushing them lightly, “I’m not very far along, but he also plans on retiring as soon as he’s able to.”
You watched as Kento walked away from Gojo, the annoyed look melting as he got closer to where you four sat, taking the empty spot next to you.
“Nanamin— you’re going to be a dad?”
He sighed, “Yes, Itadori. Please lower your voice as you address that, please.”
“We haven’t told everyone, though I suspect Gojo has an idea,” You explained, “Nothing tends to get past him.”
Megumi looked at his mentor, before sighing, “That makes more sense. I saw him looking at some baby clothes the other day online. I just thought he’d finally lost it.”
“Are you going to have a baby shower?” Two of the three students leaned forward, eyes sparkling as they questioned you, “Can we come?”
You felt Kento rub your back, his warm palm a comforting presence, and you laughed, “Sure. When we get around to having one, you all can come.” You glanced towards your husband, “Do you think Yuuta will be back by then? Maybe all the students can come.”
“When are you due?” Megumi pinched Itadori’s thigh, and the pink haired boy blanched, before tacking on, “If you don’t mind my asking.”
“Late October, early November. Though I think it’d be cool if we had a Halloween baby,” You saw Kento’s nose wrinkle in the corner of your eye, and you chuckled.
He thought a birthday on a holiday wouldn’t be too practical, and worried about how busy the streets and such would be. You reassured him that it would all be okay, and if you did have your baby by then, that day would be a treasured memory.
“That’s so cool,” Itadori seemed to agree with you, eyes gleaming, “You could dress it up in a cute little costume to take home!”
“Don’t call their baby an it you moron!”
A/N: I cannot, for the life of me, end chapters or one shots. They always feel so awkward?

Wake up, BurningCheese/GoldenSpice babes, new poorly drawn blorbos just dropped
They look cooler in my head, I swear.

the images didn't show up the first time wtf lol
The kids are finally here, yay. I promised I'd show you them, and I finally stopped being an asshole and followed through. Almost got 200 followers and I'm very grateful for it - really, I'm nobody. I'm just some clown who says dumb stuff and makes dumb memes and writes cringey stories, and yet I convinced almost 200 people to tune in. Thank you all so much, users on here and anons in my inbox alike. As a token of appreciation, you can all endure my rambling about my OCs and witness a person in their early 20s draw like a 12 year old.
The boy is Pepper Jack (or Pepper Jack Cookie). He's the firstborn and older than his sister by a few years. He takes after his mother in a lot of ways, primarily in her appearance (save for nabbing his father's red eyes). He's incredibly bright (and a smartass lol), preferring to think his way out of conflict rather than fight his way out... not that he's above violence at all, if that glaive doesn't give it away lol. He harbors a deep sense of love and loyalty towards his family and his peoples, and carries the weight of his responsibilities and heritage with as much confidence and poise as he can muster. (There are/will be times where he stumbles, of course. He's not perfect. He struggles a lot more than he lets on, really. But he tries his best, for everyone's sake.)
The girl is Matar Paneer (or Matar Paneer Cookie). Again, she's the younger one by a few years. She was all but made in her father's image, save for inheriting her mother's eyes. She's a little firecracker: lively and fun-loving and stubborn as a mule. She doesn't ask "can I have/do this thing", she tells you "I'm going to have/do this thing". Golden is proud as anything to see her daughter be so greedy... until that greed comes into conflict with her and Spice's authority lol. But she's a good kid, despite being such a handful. She has an enormous heart and is not afraid to stand up for others/what's right, and she loves her parents and brother more than anything in the world. She might doubt her own capabilities, she might secretly fear that she's not strong enough to do what she needs to... but she keeps pushing anyway, because she'd honestly choose death over quitting.
Your eyes are not deceiving you, Pepper Jack's wings are blue lol. There's an actual reason for that. And that USO (Unidentified Sitting Object) in Matar Paneer's hair is a lotus (the cheese one in the GCK decor set lol). There's a reason for that, too. I thought it would be cool to give Jack a glaive and swap out the normal blade for that of a khopesh sword (glaives are not Egyptian, they only saw use in Asia and Europe, but I just HAD to give him a glaive), to add that Egyptian touch. Paneer's supposed to be wearing a pattu pavadai, it's a traditional Indian dress for young girls. It's a blouse plus a skirt. She's holding katar, Indian knives (Cilantro Cobra has them, too). And her hair's supposed to be in a low ponytail.
Merchant thinks that if they explain what their terrible drawings are supposed to convey, people will understand their intended vision and the pain will stop
I sat down and did research into both Egyptian and Hindu mythology for the sake of drawing inspiration for them both. I'll explain in detail in another post, but basically: both of them take after one Egyptian god and one Hindu god each. Golden takes after Ra and Spice takes after Shiva, so I figured I'd follow along that line.
Please flood my inbox with questions about them now. I've really been dying to talk about them for ages now. I've drafted extensive character sheets for them both, I even made up in-game descriptions for them lol. They're my little fankid blorbos and I love them :') I hope you all come to love them, too
(Also, I'm sorry they're on lined paper. I'm visiting family rn and that's the only paper my grandmother has in her house. I'd have to drive to a stationery to get printer paper and I'd really rather not drive in this particular country lol (shit roads, even shittier drivers). I'll doodle them on printer paper whenever somebody remembers to bring me some)
#haha spicy cheese and cheesy curry. Get it?#also... when you accidentally indirectly ship Ra x Shiva via making up kids technically born from them lol. Does this count as Old Man Yaoi#(jk I mean no disrespect whatsoever. These gods/faiths are and were important to people and I don't mean to offend)#(I genuinely love learning about other religions and I had fun being inspired by these ones)#(seriously I went ham with this shit. Pepper Jack's birth is based on an Egyptian creation myth lol)#These two have long roads ahead of them. They're going to struggle and get hurt. But they'll pull through and come back better than before#fr please ask me stuff about them. I need an excuse to ramble for 10k words#you can even ask stupid shit like what their favorite color is#I love these two. I feel like their crazy grandma lol#also I have lots of thoughts wrt Spice & Golden as parents and their thoughts/feelings about parenthood#plus their individual relationships with each child#so you can expect me to rant about that too lol#maybe someday Merchant will shut the fuck up#cookie run kingdom#burning spice cookie#golden cheese cookie#burningcheese#goldenspice#cookie run oc#cookie run fankid#pepper jack cookie#matar paneer cookie

hello 👋🏼
first loving the twiyor 😌
second I have a tech question I was hoping you might be able and willing to answer: are the 'we send you a link to your email to log in instead of using your password' actually more secure or are businesses just being mean to me personally?
hope your day is kind 😊
Ok so Authentication (going to call it auth going forward) is a very large topic and there is some baseline info I want to convey before answering you question.
First, auth breaks down into 3 methods. Confirming what someone knows, confirming what someone has, confirming what someone is.
What you know: this is the traditional password method, do you remember your password you made for us? Do you remember your username? great you can get in if you know those. Stealing these creds is very straight forward, you either guess until you are right or you steal them from where someone has them stored/written down. This is why you should NEVER store your password in a browser and use a password manager instead. I would rather see people write passwords on post-it notes then store them in Google Chrome or Edge. Seriously, it is incredibly easy to steal passwords from Chrome.
What you have: have ever been asked to put an MFA pin into a phone app? that's this method, they are putting predictable generated numbers on your phone that you can then turn around and use to prove you are in physical possession of your phone. This is much more difficult to steal and usually requires physically accessing a phone or infecting it in some fashion to steal the generation algorithm. PS: If a site uses a text message instead of an app to send a pin that is less secure because SIM duplicating is easier then both the above methods for theft (i dont know the details on how to sim dup but I know no good security team takes sms pins seriously)
What you are: This is stuff like Apple's face id, windows hello, finger scan. Anything that is unique to your physical body that can be scanned to confirm who you are. This is either incredibly difficult or super easy to break depending on how the program is written. for example Face ID had an issue where it could not differentiate between particular ethnicities, also someone (the police) can just hold your phone up to force the unlock. This is usually a good method to use in conjunction with one of the others to make Auth more difficult.
So which one is better? Well each one has its pros and cons which means the most secure method is using more then one. This is called Multi Factor Authentication or MFA for short.
So lets go back to your question, is getting a login link more secure then say remembering a password. Well how secure is access to your email? if your email just requires a username and password to get into, then it is the same security level.
If you have your email setup with MFA where you need to password and pin into it then it is probably more secure then some random sites username password pair.
Also we need to ask questions about the links themselves, do you get the same link each time or is a new one created each request? How are they generated? how long until a link expires? is the link email sent via TLS? Which version of TLS? How are they stored or Are they stored? Is link generation predictable, if I had enough info could i just make my own links for any user?
Honestly I think the biggest benefit of this auth method happens on the website side and less the end user side. This requires less development to create, also they do not need to figure out how to store and keep your passwords, and if they get hacked there are no passwords to be stolen since they literally don't use them. Having passwords stolen is when law enforcement needs to get involved (Law enforcement needs to be contacted in the event any Personally Identifiable Information or PII is stolen). So if they do not use passwords that is one less PII they have in their possession.
Overall passwords are shit and anyone trying to make an effort to not use passwords or to not allow just passwords is at least making an effort to have a better security posture. But if it is actually more secure really depends, passwordless is new territory for a lot of people so its going to have growing pains.
hopefully this answers your question! if you want more clarification let me know.
Oh and Spy Family is life

𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝑻𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒓 . . .
My name is Rose. I’ve been in the fandom here on Tumblr for close to a year now. Plenty of questions come towards me every single day varying topics from the following: How do I grow my account? How do I even start writing? What should I know before posting?
In this post, I would like to address as many things as possible for new people or just people who are feeling a bit lost. IT’S OKAY. I was you too at some point! I still don’t even know how to work everything either!!!! Links for tutorials will be included as well! Thank you to @muwapsturniolo and @sturnioz for these tutorials as well because tech makes me wanna choke on light bulbs.
Making your account before posting can seem overwhelming. You have to recognize that any theme can be changed, any tags can be edited. It is not the end of the world to make a mistake!
Let's get right into it . . .
– Tag your work correctly. If it includes smut, only tag smut. Examples of this would be “sturniolo smut” “chris sturniolo smut” and etc. Same goes for fluff and angst. Look at the way other people tag their posts to find which tags to use.
– If you got inspiration from another post, tag the creator of that post! I promise it is NOT a bad thing. In all honesty, it helps your work do better. Most writers are flattered when you take inspiration from them RESPECTFULLY. They are way more likely to reblog, hence boosting your account and post!
– Make a pinned post for a masterlist or navigation. It is a lot easier to figure it out at the start rather than later down the road. Find masterlist tutorial here. Find a tutorial for linking tags here.
– A taglist is complicated. Tumblr isn’t always the best at making sure everyone truly gets tagged. Sometimes it is the users fault when they do not have @ mentions on in settings. The way to make sure people truly get tagged is pretty simple. You can find a tutorial here. Basically, you enter 5 users at a time, hitting enter and repeating until you reach 50 users. At that point, you will need to make a separate post for a second taglist.
– Your theme. This is very personal. You can pick any color, designs, and pictures you want. Lots of people like to do custom fonts, others like to do custom colors for their texts. There’s an endless amount of options and you will just have to mess around but you can find tutorials for each here: COLOR / FONT / DIVIDERS
– Gaining traction is hard. You need to write well, but this doesn’t mean it should sound like a book. At the end of the day, people don’t want to google what a bunch of different words mean. Make sure that the plot is understandable from the perspective of someone just reading it. If people are confused, they will not want to read it.
– Another point with getting more growth is being unique. People need to be interested in order to give you a chance. My first fic to get a lot of attention was “Glazed Donuts.” It was related to a recently posted video from the triplets, had an interesting title, and a unique plot.
– More than just your work needs to be unique. Your account should feel like you, people wanna be able to tell the difference between people just by the aesthetic. Find dividers, gifs, symbols, etc. Anything that matches your vibe and is unique will peak interest!
– Coming up with ideas can be hard for some people. You need to find what inspires you. Music, pictures, videos, anything! It’s a personal thing to figure out and at the end of the day, there’s plenty of prompts listed on Tumblr for any fandom and any fics.
– Interact!!! People will not interact with you if you don’t feel like a real person. Most people are scared to reach out or make the first move, but it’s crucial in order to be a part of the community and for your work to actually gain more traction with reblogs and comments. Go into people’s inboxes! Comment on their posts! Get excited so they get excited with you!
Any and all questions are welcome in my inbox. I will use the [ #rose toy sturniolo tumblr ] in the hashtags of this post to answer any of these further. Simply click that # and more posts will pop up once I’ve answered more!

So I just finished my 3rd year exams at university (hopefully I did well enough to make it into a 4th year and go for an Master's of science) and as soon as I get out near the crowd to celebrate a guy bumps into me and I broke my phone. I was ready to give him a piece of my mind until I saw he was pretty built, he must be on some university team for something. He felt awful apparently and he gave me his old phone as an apology. It came with this InstaJock app thing on it. I dunno what it is but I kinda wanna load it up...
Another instance of a jock giving someone a phone with InstaJock already downloaded on it. Another instance of someone doing something with InstaJock that doesn’t make any sense. I know it’s unprofessional to say something like this, but this is driving me crazy. Why would a jock give away their phone? If they wanted to turn you into a jock like them, they’d just send you the app! If they wanted to give you a new phone for real, they’d have wiped it before giving it to you. I guess it's possible they forgot, but InstaJock is super important to the users that get transformed into jocks. Even with how stupid jocks can be, I doubt they’d forget about the app that literally changed their life. So… why?
I’ve mentioned in some of my earlier Instajock posts that someone has been messing with people using this app. Using it in unconventional ways to mess with people, spreading false information about the app, and even making knock offs of the transformative app. My first thought was that it had to be The Master. Not the Doctor Who villain, to those who get that reference, but someone I introduced to you all in a recent post. He’s the creator of Instajock and the mastermind behind my Uncle’s transformation and kidnapping. He’s an incredibly powerful figure in the Transformation Community, even more than I’ve told you. Most people who know about transformations are scared to mention him, even other TF Reporters are, and most powerful people or groups who work with transformation either do business with him or stay out of his way. But… I don’t think he’s the one behind this. He likes to mess with people, play with his victims like whoever is behind this, but if he wanted to do that he could just add features to the actual InstaJock app. He had no reason to do things in such a roundabout way. Which makes me think… it’s someone else.
Whoever is doing this has an intimate knowledge of the app, so It has to be someone involved with InstaJock, someone besides The Master. Maybe someone who works for him? Even he couldn’t have programmed the entire app on his own and added in the magical elements without help. Plus he isn’t one for upkeep, so he’s probably having someone else run the site for him. They also have to be someone with a lot of nerve to mess with The Master, maybe someone who they’ve hurt personally. On top of all of that it’d also have to be someone the jocks would listen to. Maybe someone who worked on InstaJock that The Master fired, a former employee?
I can’t be sure of who's behind this yet, but I do know that whatever they’re trying to do with you isn’t good. When you press that app, you won’t just be turned into a jock like a regular InstaJock user. It has to be something… special. Something that would benefit, or would at least interest the person behind this. Maybe you’ll turn into a copy of the jock who gave you the phone, become their perfect twin? Maybe something else will happen entirely. I can’t be sure.
If it’s not too late, send me the phone immediately. I can put it somewhere safe, and I might be able to protect you from whoever's doing this. If it is too late… Well I hope you enjoy whatever happened. Being transformed against your will sucks, but being a jock can be fun, even if it isn’t your choice.
**3 stories in one day, all InstaJock? I must be on a roll! I hope you guys liked this one! There are still more mysteries and more transformations to discover! Stay tuned!**
