rowan and nate first kiss scenario ⁉️

Ok. So. Their first kiss is at SSB. SUE ME. I know gbpatch said Nate could never kiss someone while going to SSB but PLEASE let me cook PLEA💥💥💥

It's late into their senior year. Like, almost but not quite graduation late. They're going on a date to the beach, and it's a day where it's miraculously only the two of them.

It's a nice summer day, not too hot, not too cool. The breeze is wonderful and Rowan is enjoying it quite a lot!! (He LOVES the wind)

They're generally just hanging out. Taking walks on the beachside, swimming together, even getting into a splash fight or two!! It's actually a really adorable date, and Nate is loosening up since he enjoys the beach so much. And.... just being with his boyfriend is really amazing. He gets such a warm and fluttery feeling when he's around Rowan, one he can't quite place. His mind feels peaceful, and absolutely OVERRUN with thoughts of the boy next to him. Meanwhile, Rowan is going on some ramble about deep sea animals and not noticing the soft absolutely heartfelt look Nate is giving him. Nate looks at him as though he hung the stars in the sky.

It's around sunset. The sky is orange and they really should be heading back to SSB before curfew, but Nate can't find it in himself to bring it up. They're sitting on the sand, just staring at the waves and talking about everything and nothing at the same time. Eventually, the two go quiet and just gaze at the sun.

Rowan says that he wants to stay like this forever.

Nate wouldn't mind that at all.

At some point, Rowan turned his head to look at Nate, smiling at him with every inch of his heart. Nate heard his movement and turned to look at him as well. For a bit, it was just the two of them looking at each other bathed in sunlight and having nothing to say.

Then, Rowan cupped Nate's face with one of his hands. Which isn't uncommon! One of Rowan's absolute FAVORITE things to do ever is hold Nate's face and look at him (along with praise him... Nate loves that too much). But this is different. This time, after looking at his boyfriend who's already blushing a bit madly for a few seconds, he leans in for a kiss.

Nate knew it was coming. He had a feeling, and seeing Rowan lean in made his body tense up and his eyes blow WIDE. But he didn't pull away. All he could really do was freeze up- not knowing how to react.

Rowan pulls away, since the kiss was quite quick. He felt the fact that Nate was unresponsive (which he predicted- and was better than the outcome of Nate completely rejecting him) so he needed to get an idea of how Nate felt. All Nate could do is yell "WHAT WAS THAT!?" because SO many emotions are running around in his brain and his heart right now. Yet all he feels is kind of.... mushy and sweet. Nervous and terrified- but... fluffy.

Instead of answering, Rowan asks "Was that perfect enough?" At this point, they'd had the conversation about Nate wanting his first kiss to be perfect (But in a different scenario than Nate and JB, for them it was more of a casual conversation on a date). Rowan thought that this was the perfect environment so... he just hoped Nate felt the same.

Then there's just silence. Silence as Rowan waits for a response and Nate tries to catch his brain up to what's going on. All Nate can muster is "...yeah." Still looking shocked to all hell and needing a moment to majorly calm down.

This date is actually part of what makes Nate realize he loves Rowan. Not just likes him. (Part of my autism is the fact I'm a believer in "why would you date someone you don't love???" But seeing these two realize they're in love is so adorable. This is Nate's realization that he's in love for the first time.) (Even though Eve already knew he was in love for the first time. Eve saw it coming a mile away in the way that Nate just looks at Rowan. Don't get him started on the fact Nate talks about him so much AND is always thinking of him. Something this guy never does)
