waking up two hours before my alarm struck with divine inspiration about post-veilguard amadea visiting a very aged thom rainier.
#his wife and step-children and the rest of markham frankly have bought into the cult of the herald but he hasnt.#its strange being on the other side. twenty five years ago he looked at a woman and thought she was a god.#now the world sees a god and he remembers the woman. he remembers how she bled and wept and how she was warm when she embraced him#and shes gone. according to the last person who saw her -- that protege of varric (maker he hasn't thought of varric in years) --#she went to the black city with solas. a man who never deserved her and still doesnt but she loved him somehow anyway#anyway then amadea shows up at his door looking exactly the same as he last saw her with a baby on her hip#and he thinks he's like fully lost it until their youngest daughter -- just a baby when thom saved them during the final blight --#now fifteen and very faithful to the sect of the chantry that has reoriented itself around the herald#recognizes her instantly.#and then i get to do some fun worldbuilding while amadea learns about the cult thats sprung up around her and solas#solas was like 'im afraid thom will hit me if i come with im going to do some shopping'. hes at a bakery or smth.#buying petit fours for his wife#hope i maintain the will to write this!#carly.txt
