I have a problem

I'm falling on the rabbit hole of the batfamily, most espeficially the x reader fanfics and headcanons, and it's turning into a hyperfixation that's consuming me. I'm not even joking, i've been these two last days obsessively writing in my mind a full au of yandere!batfam x neglected!reader (yes, it's the most common and everyone has seen it already but HUSH). I hate my brain. I'm not even that deep into the dc universe, haven't been in several years. I'm team Marvel ffk

The worst part is that it's not even a deeply defined plot, like my current proyect. I just have the vibes and random scenarios and headcanons about the mc, and a bunch of cliches from all the batfam x neglected! reader put together in a mix. My arcane playlist isn't helping either. And recently I've played Watch Dogs Legion again and it's only giving me inspiration for this au.

So warning: Maybe I'll post a few things about this to get it out of my brain, because I can't be the only one suffering here. Don't worry to those who follow my other writing, I have no intention of abandoning it (not when I have already everything planned), but it's going to take slower than anticipated.

i was gonna let this sit But actually no. imagine:

bruce wayne, son of the great thomas wayne, practically doctor royalty at this point, fresh out of med school with near prodigal talent and likable charisma that makes all the other interns at gotham general hate him on principal

the other interns are: ivy, selina, bridgit and jeremiah

bruce (as my place holder for meredith grey) slept with someone right before his first day that happened to be dr. jonathan crane who just so happens to be an attending in the psychiatric department and bruce really shouldn't be running into him as much as he is considering they have different specialties and the hospital is huge, but huh there's jon loitering outside the on-call room again

ivy ends up becoming the protege of dr. ekaterina dodds, or, as everyone calls her, ecco, and ends up getting some flack from everyone else for being the favorite of the resident in charge of them

selina and bridgit Don't Like each other until they suddenly do after bridgit ends up being a patient in the hospital after being in a house fire (so obviously slow burn up until that point) and selina makes a tearful confession on her bedside thinking that she's dying. she doesn't, but they end up together anyways.

jeremiah has a thing for bruce at first (if you've seen grey's anatomy think george at meredith in early s1) but it goes away pretty soon and the biggest drama surrounding him, other than his ability to be a total asshole, is when lila ends up admitted amd jerome shows up and everyone finds out he had a brother he never talked about

(idk if jerome should be a doctor. i lean towards no bc he doesn't feel like the type at all but it is an au and actually. you know what? he'd be a coroner who eventually gets transferred to gotham general much yo jeremiah's chagrin & zsasz's joy, since they're totally bf's amd zsasz is head of trauma surgery)

lee would be chief of surgery don't play with me. maybe not at first because she's so young, but eventually. jim would be in pediatric surgery, along with barbara. harvey would be in plastic surgery.

oswald and ed are both residents when the interns come in but they'd have personal dramas relating to gertrude being admitted (and dying after tabitha, her doctor, makes a fatal mistake) and with kristen dying on the table under ed's hand. sorry but uhh angst is inevitable.

anyways since bruce is the meredith grey of this world obviously he needs angst also so. thomas and martha get shot in this au only it happens after he becomes an attending and he loses his dad pretty quickly on, but his mom looks like she'll pull through, she's awake and lucid and then a complication happens and they have to preform emergency surgery and she doesn't make it

alfred's alive though! small mercies? he's head of orthopedic surgery and already acted as a second father to bruce and in this au he can be happy too and find love (with lucius! an oncologist who seems far to cheerful for his job!)

idk yeah just a great big messy grey's anatomy-esque au stuffed with all my rarepairs that's all i want
