Rubbing her temples, Fubuki walked on the concrete side walk making her way to her home. Fubuki had a rough day at work, especially after encountering that baldy which made her stress out a lot. Her muscles were sore and her head was throbbing in a stabbing type pain. Sighing she finally reached the door, pulling out her keys, admiring the keychain you won for her at some festival. Finally inserting the key, the door opened, and a calming ambience intoxicated the room. It seemed to be recently cleaned by you.
"I wonder where they are..." She whispered. Sighing she took of her heels and coat, going into your shared bedroom she changed into some shorts and a t-shirt. Walking to the kitchen she took out the pitcher and drank all of the water! Was she really that stressed?
Sighing she leaned onto the island counter and took deep breaths. She then looked at the back yard and saw you painting something on a canvas. Sighing in relief that you were home, she quickly ran over to you. She wrapped her hands around your waist hugging you from behind, startling you almost causing you to drop your paintbrush.
"Fubuki! Are you okay?" You quarried, you could feel her body so tensed up. Putting your hand over hers, you held it tight. Turning around you gave her a kiss on the cheek, causing her cheeks to show a hue of pink!
"I-I'm just really stressed, It's nothing to worry about really." She assured you whilst putting her hands on your shoulders. You easily knew this was a lie.
"Let's go inside shall we? You obviously need some help.." You insisted, she gave you a soft smile and went back inside to wait for you whilst you fixed up your canvas. You quickly changed your clothes into more comfortable ones. Walking over to the living room, she sat there tensed up with a sober look on her face causing you to chuckle a bit.
"Why don't I give you a massage?" You suggest with a smile, she nodded and laid down on the couch lifting her t-shirt to expose her back. Sitting down you added some ointment on your hands and started rubbing it on Fubuki's back, you gently massaged her and she simply let out a few grunts.
"So, tell me... Why are you so stressed out?" You spoke, Fubuki gave an annoying look like she doesn't wanna recall any of the mess that happened but she knew she had no choice, or else you would've forced her to spit it out another way.
"I had to handle some baldy from Class B, and well he kept resisting! Ugh I just still don't get it why he wouldn't follow along..." She complained, grumbling curses under her breath.
"Well, Fubuki everyone has their own decisions and life. Who knows it might be personal matter." You explained chuckling at this child-like reason of her stress.
"What's this bald guy's name anyway?" You questioned and her brows raised. Sighing she averted her gaze at you.
"Saitama, his name is Saitama." She answered with a somber tone. Did she really hate this "Saitama" guy this much? Though that name did seem familiar to you, recalling the memories of the past it finally got to you.
"I remember him! I met him at the supermarket fidgeting with his coupons. Nice guy to be honest, he helped me carry my groceries to the car." You laughed putting one of your hand on your chin. Her gaze turned cold, a aura cold as ice. She was quite jealous.
"No need to be jealous! I see him noting but an acquaintance. No one can ever replace you." You reassured pinching her cheek slightly causing her to groan. Chuckling you continued massaging her.
Fixing her top she sat down of the couch, slouching. Admiring her face you now just noticed the scratches and bruises on her, you quickly went to your shared bedroom and snatched the med kit. Sitting down swiftly you added alcohol and piece of cotton and rubbed it on her bruised up face earning a screech from her.
"W-what was that for?!" She complained, holding your wrist with a bit of force. You chuckled and managed to writhed your wrist out of her grip and continued treating her, by then she finally knew what you were doing. Sighing you threw away the used items and placed the kit in it's rightful place.
Sitting down on the couch along with Fubuki you turned on the TV and you both settled to watch a movie, but things escalated quickly and you were now in her arms, resting peacefully in this warm cuddle, this was the comfort she needed. You messed around with her hair, caressing her scalp which absolutely made her melt, as for her she was gently combing your hair making sure not to add too much force so you would remain unharmed in her arms. Looking in your eyes, staring at those ethereal E/N shining orbs, a pink hue madd it's way to her cheeks and she mumbled something under her breath. Noticing this you raised one of your brows.
"Did you say something?" You spoke and her glimpse turned to you. Blushing she held you tighter into her arms and went close to your ear to whisper something.
"I love you, please never leave me." Her hot breath sending shivers down your spine, her voice was intoxicated with gentleness like a lullaby. Smiling you softly kissed her lips.
"I promise, I will never leave you behind." You chuckled putting some pieces of her hair behind her ears, smiling gently she closed her eyes to fall into a slumber. Sighing in exhaustion, you closed your eyes as well to finally join her in a peaceful sleep.

Hi! For your how hot is that character: Mumen Rider, Amai Mask, Zombieman and Saitama. Also, who is the person in the middle in your header? Is it you? Thank you!
MUMEN RIDER
Not My Type | Alright | Cute | Adorable | Pretty | Gorgeous | LORD MERCY
He is genuinely one of my favorite characters, and such a good boy. I wish they’d let him win at least one fight so he’ll be confident enough to Class B.
Imma put the others under a cut, purely because I’m using images
AMAI MASK
Not My Type | Alright | Cute | Adorable | Pretty | Gorgeous | LORD MERCY
He’s handsome, and normally I’d give into that, but he’s really not my type. He looks like the kind of guy who’d make a big thing about how he’s taking the unpopular girl to prom, but then when he wins prom king he ditches her for the popular girl. He looks like he’s about to insult my anime keychains in that “Sorry not sorry” way, like “Wow, I didn’t know that anime was so old, surely those are from your childhood!”
ZOMBIEMAN
Not My Type | Alright | Cute | Adorable | Pretty | Gorgeous | LORD MERCY
You’ve found my biggest weakness. I’m a sucker for scary/bad guys who are good with kids! The second he talked to Child Emperor, my heart fluttered.,,,I want to hold his hand.
SAITAMA
Not My Type | Alright | Cute | Adorable | Pretty | Gorgeous | LORD MERCY
His looks are a meh for me unless he’s in his serious form. Even serious Saitama is a bit meh, but you know what, he’s alright.
(Art done by @iudormu )
Yep, that’s technically me in the middle!
I started playing A Hero Nobody Knows recently and made my character into my self insert/OPM oc. Her real names Inuko, she has a twin sister, and the association picked her hero name because a mix of her fighting style and making fun of her for something they witnessed.
#Mumen Rider#Sweet Mask#Saitama#Zombieman#Cat Cosmic {self indulgence}#Mission complete {ask}#Special mission {Ask meme}#fijiflower

Rereading Oresama Teacher Volume 3
Cabbage Cake! Mama Kurosaki, why did you never teach your daughter how to cook??
Her outfit is so cute!! Too bad she goes back to her plain stuff immediately after. I’d love to see her coordinate that strawhat with her other clothes
Let your kid be gay, Mama Kurosaki. It’s fine!!
Mafuyu, you’re so noble and pure and gay
lol, Sakurada, your plans are shit but you’re unapologetically cute, so I can respect that
BOY!! You need to wear a freaking BELT! (or shorter pants or something)
Mafuyu was the closest to saying ‘harassment’ so she wins
My stupid idiot boys!
“I’ve… become an ordinary girl!” lol, liar
The best banchos are the ones who teach their comrades
I really don’t want to know what the blurred part of that picture is. Also, because Maizono is technically a minor at this point, it’s definitely weird that he’s submitting that anywhere
Why the FUCK does that lighter make such a big flame??
Also! Why didn’t they share numbers before Mafuyu left? Not sharing now makes sense, but what about before when they thought she’d always be there?
The coolest thing that Saeki has done so far is fight some yakuza
It’s always fun seeing Mafuyu being the one with the most brain cells in a group and then immediately drop those brain cells when she is offered food
Sweet precious child loves her friends!!!
… And then they reject her…
Oh no, she’s spiraling!
Sakurada’s a nice kid! Even though he’s blinded by rivalry most of the time
I wonder if Mafuyu and Sakurada had to walk together towards the fight. That was probably kinda awkward
I really like this analysis of different banchos. I think Mafuyu is a reactive leader who deals with situations/problems (mostly caused by her own gang) as they arise.
Their outfits are so good! Just looking at their props makes me wonder what kinda shenanigans they would’ve gotten into if Mafuyu hadn’t left early
HNNGGHHH!! FRIENDSHIP!!!
Ohhh, okay, there’s the phone number explanation. Didn’t want to be tempted to rely on her all the time, but that’s not the most solid excuse
I want to believe that Mafuyu thought her neighbor was a high profile lesbian and then got extremely disappointed when it was just Saeki
Although, Damn Saeki. You’re a real player, huh?
LOL, Okegawa tried to write his reflection essay as if he was writing as Strawberry Love
Nekomata keychain! I want!
Where the hell did that baseball even come from??
qwq Best Friend dream
Saeki’s bed is huge
alright, okay, alright, fucking Saeki??? Bud??? Why didn’t you just crossover to your balcony from the beginning instead of loitering in Mafuyu’s apartment that one time??
Uhhh VIZ? You did a bad with your translation!!! “How did I break up with Takaomi?” That’s a bad! She was like 10 when he, a high schooler, left!!
Jesus, Saeki, I bet the reason ladies don’t ever stay is because you’re a deathly clinger. Also! This! I don’t like this!!! This feels as uncomfortable as that one time I came out of the bathroom in the middle of the night in complete darkness and bumped into my dad who thought I was my mom and tried to snuggle me. Bad!!!
The Board of Directors’ kids are the Student Council? That definitely gets retconned in favor of the Peter Pan thing
Hayasaka you’re such a loveable doofus
Oh hey, Mafuyu, Hayasaka, your bisexual is showing
What’s up, Miyabi, you disgustingly gorgeous bastard?
Yui is the only one who retained this Student Council lackey aesthetic because he’s a dork
Bisexuality Intensifies
How did Saeki even know they were messing up? He must have a gut instinct for idiocy
Creepy Miyabi
I love omakes. Saitama gang shenanigans are great
Whose door did they try to ding-dong-dash?
Mafuyu masks!!! They forgot to put in eye holes
#oresama teacher#oresama graduation#I'm probably gonna double up at some point since there's 23 more volumes

Who are your favourite manga/anime protagonists of all time and why?
Of…of ALL TIME!? *mind goes blank* Whew, that’s a difficult + huge pool to choose from, but ‘protagonists’ actually narrows it down, as not all my fav characters are the protags either. Usually I go for the Vegeta + Raphael archetypes instead, cause their character arcs (growth that’s often emotion-based) are more interesting/appealing to me. Protags in general are often nice and likeable by default (in the sense that if I didn’t like them, I wouldn’t force myself to continue the story where they’re the main focus), but they’re also often portrayed with average traits to make them most relatable to the target demographic. Many of them are similarly structured this way with comparable traits/behaviors, so I tend to prefer the ones who can still stand out (in their own unique way) from the rest in general. I also tend to prefer those who aren’t ‘chosen ones’ or who don’t have special hereditary gifts. Instead I prefer them being special through the merits of their own character and the choices they make. So with that criteria said, some names definitely came to mind.
Nausicaa: probably the one I most looked up to and was inspired by as a kid. She did everything I liked and thought was cool, from her free flying/piloting abilities, exploring nature on her own, running her own lab, easily befriending animals, and often finding interesting/different solutions to things that her people wouldn’t conceive of (often in a pacifist way). She could still lead and take charge & responsibility of things as a princess, but still believed in freely doing what she wants (and could still be girly about it too). However, the defining scene that most stuck with me all these years, was her reaction upon finding her father assassinated. The one where she wordlessly gaped in horror and flew into a blind rage (even Teto, her critter, sensed it and got scared), and murdered every assailant in the room with a blunt weapon. Before she picks up the nearest sword and her uncle stops her with his own body, accidentally harming him in the process, and shocking her to her senses, where she then becomes so petrified and guilty at what she’s done that she passes out. She confessed she became that afraid of herself when her emotions and anger ran out of control. And I thought, wow that’s powerful, especially unprecedented and rare for a female (mostly pacifist!) character to suddenly do as well, because that was the strength of her heart, her love for her family, that shone and drove her with the instinct to react so brutally that way. It always made me take pause and ponder, that if I witnessed anything like that happen to my own family or those I cared about, just what form would my anger manifest in response? It’s chilling and ugly to think about, because I’d never want that to happen, but I honestly don’t know if I could hold back either. So I could understand her fear. It’s quite humbling. It’s always this scene I remember and gauge in comparison to when I see other characters strongly react with that same righteous anger/instinctual drive to protect who they care about. And it’s always a fav when I see that happen.
Edward Elric: oh he’s definitely a keeper. Probably one of the most well-rounded and human I’ve seen, with the full spectrum of emotion, badass feats, and quirky + dorky character traits of his own too. A standard I feel, when it comes to well-written and memorable shonen protags. Probably one of my first legit anime crushes obsessions back in the day (even way before Brotherhood existed). I got all the merch, shirts, wall scrolls and everything (got a bunch of craft models for Nausicaa too for that matter). I remember back when my sister asked me who my fav character of the series was, and I answered him without hesitation, but she said ‘oh that’s boring’ just because he’s the protag, (://) so preferring him is apparently expected I guess, oh well. I didn’t go back on my answer then, and I don’t think I could ever go back on it now either. I still faithfully wear an old chibi keychain of him on my bag. My fav scene is probably that really touching moment when he convinced Winry not to kill with a gun, because her hands were better for healing, including how she created and continually fixes/heals his arm & leg. :’) Just ahhh, keeper.
Guts: hoooo boy. The one and only. The most badass determinator around, continually struggling against all the absolute shit dealt to his life. Just ugh, it’s amazing he hasn’t keeled over yet, after surviving through so much literal hell. His life is just eternal suffering and tragedy, and he’s accepted going down that path. He almost submits to the despair sometimes, but he’s strong. Strong to keep going and not give in no matter how bad it gets. Because he has a mission he absolutely must see through and commit to the end. It’s both painful and awesome to watch him, and I honestly have no idea how he can win (vs Griffith) on his own eventually, but I can only hope he survives to achieve some form of happiness someday, because damn, it’s been so unfair to him. Please just give him a break. I’ll be in that long haul of a ride just to see how he’s doing.
For more recent protags (and I wish I could choose more girls), ONE is definitely onto something though with his massively relatable yet genuinely hard-working characters, where even if they’re strong in ways, they’re also very humble, and their own merits shine through even stronger. Saitama probably fits my fav protag criteria, along with being an interesting commentary on what happens once you reach the peak of your craft. Is it really worth all the hard work and effort if there’s no one else to share it with? Most interesting food for thought. However, I’m still waiting for him to do something more…where he becomes a bit less passive (and oblivious) to things happening around him, and a bit more engaged and emotionally receptive. For example, if he’s physically invulnerable, then that leaves his mental/emotional vulnerability as a possible target. If it ever comes to that, and he can feel something that makes him react, reflect, and feel alive again, then that’ll be something worth waiting for. He’d really enter my all-time favs that way.
Another recent one who’s caught my eye is Senku (Dr. Stone). Sometimes you’d think he’d be a scheming sneaky bastard (mad scientist) but he’s actually a very standup and compassionate guy. Trustworthy, persistent, and dependable. He’s quirky, he’s unique, and he’s not your typical shonen protag. (He’s also immune to all advances; not interested in the slightest cause his priorities are much stronger.) And I like that. It’s like if Hiruma (es21) got the chance to be the protag, but more down to earth and less threatening/imposing. So far the story’s still pretty new but he’s already pretty memorable. Just gotta see now how his persistence and faith in science will change and save the post-apocalyptic world.
#Anonymous#replies#long post#did a readmore cause some reasons got kinda personal#i got a handful of memorable greats who i think are unique (just wish there'd be more girl protags to choose from)#(but who i chose probably isn't too surprising)#including some more recent ones i've got my eye on

The Economics of Sushi
Names: Ellie Nagatomi | ID : 27163265 Courtney Tsao | ID : 31932732
Discussion section: Friday (12:00 - 12:50)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀✧・゚: *✧・゚:* THE ECONOMICS OF SUSHI *:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being that we live in a capitalist world, concepts of economics are used on a daily basis, oftentimes without us thinking twice about it. Having in-depth knowledge about Economics sheds light on the nuances of daily life and how the decisions and interactions of people influence others. Courtney and Ellie decided to go to their favorite restaurant in Irvine to showcase how concepts of economics impact their choices, even down to the simplest decisions we make when we go out to eat.
Scarcity underscores the idea that society has limited resources and cannot produce all goods and services people wish to have. At Kura they would have seasonal specials because not every fish will be available at all times of the year due to seasonal changes. Not only that, because Kura has limited resources (workers, seaweed, rice) even if all the fish in the world was available to buy, Kura would be unable to create sushi for every type of fish that is in the market. What is provided on the conveyor belt is what society has allotted Kura to be able to serve and produce to its customers. For example, even if Courtney and Ellie wanted to eat albacore, because it is not in season and due to scarcity, Kura would not offer this dish, therefore not allowing us to buy this dish.
We arrived at Kura at 11:00am on the dot (right as the doors opened) and once we were seated, within 5 minutes, each table was occupied by others. From our table, we even saw people waiting outside to be seated. This shows that the demand for sushi, shown by the physical presence of sushi-lovers, exceeded the number of booths supplied by Kura, which placed into perspective the principle of what a shortage is. While looking through the menu, we also saw the law of supply and demand; as locals who frequent Kura, we noticed a change in price where most of the sushi dishes became more expensive. Some dishes that used to be $2.50 a plate were now $2.80. This increase in price illustrates the law of supply and demand that claims that a good’s price is adjusted to “bring the quantity supplied and the quantity demanded for that good into balance” (Mankiw).
To meet the high consumer demand for sushi, Kura had to increase their prices to gain more profit that they can use to replenish the supplies and ingredients needed to make sushi and to maintain their facility. The concept of supply and demand was also seen through Kura’s concept of using a conveyor belt. Since the belt follows a one-way direction that passes through each booth, the booths closer to the area of the belt where freshly made sushi were dropped off had a more wider selection of sushi to choose from while the plates that weren’t chosen would slowly make their way down to the other booths. Based off of where we sat, most of the sushi we wanted to eat were already taken by previous booths, suggesting that the demand for certain sushi plates were greater than the amount of that was being supplied by the sushi makers.
Kura is a popular spot for Irvine locals to grab sushi, and the franchise is able to utilize this demand by providing the fun incentive of letting customers win prizes from gachapon, machines that release a capsule with a random novelty. The machine releases a capsule when every 15 sushi plates are slid down a chute (located near the table). Curiosity and the concept of being rewarded for simply eating motivates and incentivizes customers to continue eating more to hopefully reach the next 15 plates and win the next capsule. The products themselves, which include keychains and stickers, are usually a collaboration with a popular Japanese anime and Kura. This further incentivizes the consumers because they want to be able to get this gift of their favorite anime. It promotes the flow of output to consumers who are willing to eat more sushi in order to get their prize, which thus, generates more profit for Kura. It also encourages people to eat at Kura with a bigger party to increase the likelihood of winning the gachapons since there are more people eating more plates, which also enables Kura to generate more profit.
In this case, Ellie and Courtney’s favorite anime is One Punch Man so they were excited to get the gacha. Although they were almost full after eating 11 plates, they pushed through to reach 15 plates at an attempt to get what they wanted; Ellie wanted the Saitama keychain and Courtney wanted the Genos sticky notes. When revealing the gachapon, much to Courtney’s dismay, the inside revealed itself to be what Ellie wanted! Since Courtney was unable to get the sticky notes, her growing desire only further compelled her to decide to eat more and to get another chance at pulling a gacha.
According to Principle 2 of Economics, there is always a cost; and specifically opportunity cost is what you give up to get an item. Decision making always comes with the concept of choosing something over something else, making what you give up to achieve the other item your opportunity cost. Towards the end of our meal, Ellie ran out of money, but Courtney had $3 left in her budget. However, because one plate of sushi is $2.80, Courtney is forced to pick between her two things- either her favorite salmon, or sweet shrimp, something she has never tried before. No matter which she picks though, she will have to give up eating the other type of sushi. In this scenario, Courtney decided to step out of her comfort zone and pick sweet shrimp, ultimately giving up salmon. In this case, the opportunity cost of Courtney picking sweet shrimp is being able to eat her favorite sushi, salmon.
After eating our fill of sushi, we were craving something sweet and decided to look at the dessert menu. Since we spent most of our individual budget on sushi, we were uncertain about whether or not ordering mochi ice cream was worth the quality and amount of dessert that we were getting. Ellie valued the mochi at $6 while Courtney valued it at $5. After checking, we realized that the mochi cost $4.20, which was less than the value that we placed on the dessert. Consumer surplus is the measure that shows the amount a buyer is willing to pay minus the amount the buyer actually pays for the good, so the students’ consumer surplus can be see as:
Ellie’s consumer surplus:
$6 - $4.20 = $1.80
Courtney’s consumer surplus:
$5 - $4.20 = $.80
The total consumer surplus is merely the added total of each consumer’s consumer surplus, which means that $1.80 + $.80 = $2.60. Considering how our individual values of the mochi were higher than the actual price, it was worth ordering.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* FOOD FOR THOUGHT *:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Through this project. as well as an excursion to Kura Revolving Sushi, we learned that many of the actions we take all correspond to economic concepts. As long as we understand essential principles, we would be able to maximize our spending in a way most beneficial to us. Although utilizing economic concepts in our everyday life might not help us save money in the long run, they can help us justify our actions, ultimately leading to satisfaction in our lives.

Team 8 3rd Anniversary Concert in Saitama 17/4/2 (evening show) Live Report
okay so starting out i just want to point out
that in the bag of concert brochure and other things they gave us as we went in
there was a brochure for winglets
also the sign i got was onishi’s which yay that’s pretty great
they also gave us a random lettered sticker for what block we would go to for the matsuri games
i got d and forgot to look up who was doing what booth so i just went to the menko booth.
i had no idea what that was but hikarun and hijirin were running it and were very cute
i also couldn’t really figure out the game by the time it was my turn and i just kind of accidentally dropped the coaster thing they gave me but it knocked down something else so i won a keychain
for the concert my seat was in the third level so i didn’t get any up-close idol but it was cool to see how the entire stage was set up the entire time
before the pre-show started there was a pre-pre-show skit
it featured top lead (one was a teacher, the other was a father, i can’t remember who was who i’m sorry i’m here for the idols) while takita kayoko made an appearance as the mother and she and the top lead father introduced their “daughters” to their new teacher
these were riona (who only spoke in english), pena (who did an impression i think of kyoka?), harupyon (who jumped a lot), and kurenyan (who did a moe line)
then pre-show with the kanto members
they said in an mc that ayane chose the setlist for the pre-show
ayane getting the spotlight here was so great, she was the center for everything
and i have been wanting her in kimi no c/w forever so i’m so glad
aisatsu kara hajimeyou through 47 no machi e were all part of a skit about ikumin confessing
it was a smaller amount of girls (ikumin, hiichan, and moka were there at least... probably around 12 total?) with ikumin at the center which was great
also they were all wearing different school uniforms and for whatever reason they gave ikumin the majigaku 4/5 uniform??? like at first i thought this was gonna turn into a majisuka gakuen au
in between river and 47 machi e there was a short break with ikumin doing a version of oogoe diamond with odaeri singing harmony
ikumin.... at least your singing has improved i guess...
then during 47 no machi e she was like “OKAY I’LL CONFESS” and then rode a bike down the stage and ran to one of the stands and gave a random fan a love letter
at the end all the members were also doing the gacchikoi chant along with the fans that was great
and then everyone came in during nounai paradise
end roll was absolutely amazing
like listen team 8 has some fantastic dancers and dang these girls are top tier
during the dance bridge the music cut out and this beatboxer guy came out and well, beatboxed and they danced to just that. first solo and then as a group and man it was awesome
hatsukoi dash started off with ayane being the only one on time and everyone else late and at the other end of the stadium
as an apology kaorumba just. took out violin and started playing it. and harupyon started doing a rubix cube
ayane was having none of this nonsense and was just like “if you want to apologize just run over here. and as punishment you gotta yell out a confession as you do it”
harupyon finished her rubix cube by her turn
for she’s gone it started out with a “saitama collection”, aka all of the girls in the unit doing like a mini fashion show down to center stage
tonari no banana was probably my favorite unit of the night???
because it started with naru coming out and being like “let’s introduce our new member...”
and then yamada nanami walked out
they then got kyoka to come out and gosh she’s adorable. still totally raw but she’s got a sort of ksgk vibe to her and i love her
after the first chorus they brought out this box and kyoka’s just like “here’s a present for you, naru! get in!” and naru went in and...
it opened again and pena was in the box instead
kyoka’s reaction was just like
“hm guess i got it wrong oh well” and they just finished the song with the two of them
where did naru go????? never explained, just went on to the next song
tsundere opened with hijirin calling the “tanis” to assemble, and called the unit members
moka was not thrilled about being called the “tanis” because she’s “yaguchi”, not “taniguchi”
they also did a tsundere moe line during the middle, moka’s was “geez, stop calling me taniguchi, it’s annoying. just call me moka.”
look you guys know me, i’m not too into the cool dance numbers but dang dance8 just killed uza and make noise
between the two numbers there was another dance breakdown with bgm courtesy of beatboxing guy
adult8 didn’t have too much dancing or anything, a lot of their stuff was just kinda walking around looking sexy
but during innocence odaeri actually sang the solo lines and dang
the eightles were definitely the highlight of the concert for me
definitely not the best band i’ve ever heard, but i liked how they had the violin in there from rumba
odaeri probably would have been a better vocalist, but rin was just having so much fun and had so much energy that it really pumped up the crowd
at the beginning of heavy rotation it sounded like there was some dissonance between the violin and keyboard?? not sure what happened there
top lead being announced as making the setlist for 83 got the biggest reaction from the crowd of the news and let me tell you i am so hyped
anyways
it was pretty great

We’ve got new remolded robots to look at tonight, almost entirely catering to my particular tastes. But don’t worry, because after that there’s pre-orders for generically cute parts-holding penguins, and fun stuff from some of the most popular parts of the otakusphere. Plus a figma and a robo-girl too, and if those don’t catch your eye, at least stick with me for an in-hand look at a transformational try-again. Tuesday Night Toys are here, come check ‘em out with me!
New Stuff: The Lost World
Even with all the cool junk they showed off at Toy Fair, Hasbro was apparently still holding back some stuff on us, as evidenced by them trotting out new Titans Return versions of Misfire and Slugslinger to reveal at the Australia show. Both of these are remolds of the (I hear) excellent Triggerhappy mold, getting a whole lotta Targetmasters out of one base design (even Scourge was based on this one too!). Both look very nice, Misfire in particular, given his lovely shade of pink and distinctively-designed cockpit nose. The fact that he’s a popular character in a popular comic right now will probably do good things for his sales as well.
So I posted bits about it outside this column earlier, but Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger is getting a sequel series in South Korea, and this is just such a *weird thing* that I gotta talk about it a bit more. It’s ostensibly due to how well the toyline (sold there as ‘Power Rangers Dino Force’) performed in that region, and this new show is thus getting a bunch of new toys to promote.
These are all updates of the previous transformation devices and mecha, and while the gear all appears to be just repainted, the mecha have all actually been remolded (as well as swapped around from which Rangers they were assigned to previously). Gabutyra noticeably becomes Cannontyra, with a big goofy gatling gun stuck on its nose, and the others have been similarly recolored and had bonus weapons grafted onto them. I do like the more unified white/highlight-color schemes these have now, it makes the combined mecha look a bit cooler in my opinion, even if extra goofy stuff like the CHAINSAW SWORD it has now might seem to be a bit much. It’ll be really interesting to see how this series turns out (and if anybody subs it).
Wishlist: Stage Select
The next of Good Smile’s Nendoroid parts cases are up for pre-order, it’s that penguin I was super-excited to see last year! I’ve gotten a couple of these already, and they’re a super-adorable storage solution for Nendo faces and other little bits. I’ll have to get this one as well, and it’ll only make me resentful that no actual AzuManga Daioh Nendoroids have been made.
GSC also opened up pre-orders for the figma version of Gwyndolyn from Odin Sphere, in what’s becoming standard-for-video-game characters regular and DX versions (although in this case the DX version just includes the full versions of her wings). Gwyndolyn wasn’t the most interesting playable character in Odin Sphere (that’d be Cornelius or Velvet) but she’s still the ‘face’ of the game, and thus that means she gets made before anyone else. The toy still looks dang pretty though.
Rounding out the Good Smile plugs, they’ve also got pre-orders up for Threezero's sixth-scale figure of Genos from One-Punch Man! This sexy cyborg’ll set you back a penny almost as pretty as he is, but it looks like it’d be worth it for an articulated figure this nice of a design that deserves it. He’ll be out towards the end of the year, and it’d be interesting and amusing to see if they do a Saitama to go with him.
Here’s a cute little display piece, an acrylic stage set of Touhou characters. It’s a simple background of Reimu’s shrine with a base you can plug a selection of character pieces into, and they can all even double as keychains if you want! And the art style used here is simply *adorable*, I love it. Be cool if they made sets of additional characters to plug in later.
And up just today are pre-orders for the next Polynian figure: Vania. She’s a fiery schoolgirl-bot with a scarf and mecha-knuckle weapons and she is just *so* up my alley. These things just keep looking cooler and cooler with each new character they put out. Heck, I’ve already pre-ordered her; Yume needs a friend.
On Desk: Tax Evasion
The Transformers Age of Exctinction toyline wasn’t the best TF line in the world, nor was it in service of the best movie in the world. Most of the DInobots tickled my fancy, true, but a lot of the rest of the figures were victims of cost-cutting of some sort and representing characters I pretty much hated. One outlier was the Optimus Prime ‘Evasion Mode’ mold, which was an adorable concept figure of Movie Optimus Prime transforming into a G1-style flat-nose truck cab, which the movie dressed up as him turning into the rusted-up junker as a deep-cover disguise. Unfortunately, the paint job on Hasbro’s original release of that mold was pretty abysmal, going the ill-advised route of mapping G1 Prime’s colors directly onto the robot mode with little regard for how they worked with the actual details. The glossy colors and thick application washed out a lot of detail generally looked not-good on the design, which was a pity because the actual mold itself was really good! I had that first version and enjoyed it, but always resolved to pick up any better-painted version when I could.
So TakaraTomy’s 10th Anniversary ‘Movie the Best’ line did me a favor by coming out with a terrific new version of that toy! Sporting a much more subdued, balanced blue/red scheme, with an intricate ‘rusty’ pattern all over it in vehicle mode, and properly-applied flames in robot mode, they’ve really brought this design to life. They also used the alternate face-plated head mold for the figure, because they love me.
So the mold absolutely sings in these colors, but that’s because as said, it’s a really good mold. Details have always been a strong point of the Movie toys, and this is no exception, with all sorts of fine bits sculpted in, in both robot and vehicle modes. I particularly like the way the upper arms look (especially now that the shoulder-pads have their flames on them) and the little real-world details sculpted all over the truck mode (really brought out by that rust pattern now). Articulation all over the robot mode makes it really fun to pose and play with (I dig the extra neck joint), and the plastic and joints all *feel* very quality.
Pulling off the transformation really makes clear how well-designed this figure is. For ages we were told that getting Movie Optimus’s design and proportions fit down into a flat-nosed cab just couldn’t be done, but the Masterpiece-designer who handled this thing managed to pull it off.
The big trick is how the entire cab folds inside out, building itself up into a robot torso, then collapsing down and tucking everything inside of it for vehicle mode. It’s a tight fit, and there’s a certain amount of finesse involved in getting it all together for truck mode, but it’s satisfying to do and impressive enough in its execution that you don’t want to throw it against a wall or anything. And at the end of the day, I still can’t deny how tickled I am by the idea of Movie Optimus Prime squashing down to cosplay as his 80’s counterpart.
On a sheer design level, this is one of the best Transformers molds released in the past few years, and I’m really glad TakaraTomy saw fit to give it another release in a really good paint job this time. Everyone deserves a second chance.
Good to see you everyone, I hope you’ve had fun!
