I have an idea for sonic boom where sonamy boom 3 little kids travel to the past and you know like maybe accidentally used tails invention...when they are in past sonic freaks out at first but then he’s like at the end “am so gonna be the cool parent int the future” teases amy and btw i love ur stories 💗💗
Haha, of course! I swear, as soon as I got on Tumblr and saw your ask, I was like “OMG OMG OPEN A GOOGLE DOC START WRITING DROP EVERYTHING AHHHH”Sorry I’m a bit late, my laptop’s battery went dead and I was scared that the story wouldn’t save, but it did! But now here I am, hope you like it~
“What. The. Hell. Are. Those.” Sonic said, as his eyes grew wide at the little hedgehogs standing right in front of him.
“Hi, dad!” One of the little ones exclaimed. He sure did look a lot like Sonic himself.
“Woah, Sonic, he called you dad! You didn’t tell me you had kids! But don’t you think Amy’s a little too young to have children?” Tails asked his big-brother figure.
“T-Tails, seriously, they aren’t my kids! I’m not dating Amy or anything!” Sonic stuttered. The truth was that he was madly in love with Amy, he just didn’t want to admit it.
“What do you mean, daddy? You always go to mommy everyday and kiss her, and tell her that you love her! You two leave us with Uncle Tails while you go on dates!” The youngest one said. He was an exact replica of Sonic.
“Be quiet, Skid! Daddy tells us that he loves us too! Right, Blur?” The middle one said, looking over to her right, where a midnight blue hedgehog, possibly six, looked up.
“Yeah.” He looked up to Tails. “Uncle Tails, did you make a shrink ray? ‘Cause you look shorter than usual!” Tails looked at himself. He looked completely the same.
“How old are your parents?” Tails asked, hoping he could find out who their parents were. Their parents certainly couldn’t be Sonic and Amy. Amy was only 14, and Sonic was going to turn 18 soon. The oldest child looked about 6. Definitely not Amy’s child.
“Daddy is…” the youngest, who’s name is Skid and was about 3, stared off into space, trying to remember. “27!” Sonic looked surprised. He tugged at his scarf. That would’ve meant that Amy would have his kids at the age of 18...Was he really that much of a wimp?!
“Do mommy and daddy have rings on their fingers?” Tails asked, as if he knew what Sonic was thinking.
“Yes! Mommy has a diamond ring on her finger, along with some other rings.” So, they were engaged at the time?..
“Are they married?” Sonic asked, interrupting Tails from asking the exact same question. All three of the children shook their heads.
“Mommy said that you and her will get married soon, and she said I could be the flower girl!” the middle one giggled. She looked so much like Amy. She had jade eyes, with speckles of emerald in them. Sonic loved her immediately.
“Sonic, these kids must be from the future! How did you three get here?” Tails asked, hoping they would say through his invention.
“Well, you told us not to go near that,” the oldest one pointed to the machine that the kids came through.”
“Fascinating. It must be a time machine.” Tails muttered, forgetting about the four hedgehogs in the room.
“Oh boys! I brought the food you asked for!~” An angelic voice appeared, and the trio ran toward it. Amy was surprised by the sudden warmth on her legs, and found three little hedgies stuck to her, yelling “Mommy!” “You’re back!!” “WHERE WERE YOU?!” Amy wondered whose kids these were and why they were calling her ‘mommy.’  They looked like a mix of herself and Sonic.
“Amy! Thank Chaos you’re here! These kids are from the future! They came through a time machine! They’re ours.” Amy widened her eyes. She looked back at the hugging hedgehogs.
“This isn’t a prank, right? You’re telling the truth?” Amy said in a gentle, sensitive voice, which surprised Sonic, as he was used to hearing her coaching, cheering voice. “You know my feelings aren’t a toy you can just play with.” Yeesh, why was she so moody?
“Ames, it’s not a prank, I swear, they’re our kids.” Amy’s cheeks went red. “No time to fantasize, our future selves are probably worried sick!” Amy shook out of her thoughts and all the questions she had.
“I wasn’t fantasizing! I was just...wondering…” Amy took the kids in her arms, not worrying about their weight, because of the fact that she carries a humongous hammer. She walked over to Tails and put them down. “So, what are your names?” She asked, kneeling down. Sonic had a wave of pride splashing upon his heart. That was weird. It usually happened when Sonic defeated Eggman’s robots or when he saved his friends. The oldest one spoke up.
“I’m Blur, that’s my sister, Ariana, and that,” he pointed to his little brother. “Is Skid.” Amy smiled. She couldn’t believe that these tiny little chubby potatoes were hers.
“Has anyone told you guys how adorable you are?” Only Ariana giggled.
“Yeah, you tell us that everyday, mom.” the oldest one and youngest one said simultaneously. “I see where you get your attitude from.” Amy looked up at Sonic, who was glaring at her.
“Not only attitude, but also good looks~” Sonic posed, pretending to flex his non-existent muscles. Amy suddenly was caught in a daze. She had a lovey-dovey look on her face.
“Oh no, it’s happening again. Even young daddy makes young mommy all red-happy.” Red happy was the sonamy childrens’ way of saying that someone was blushing. They didn’t need an explanation, they understood.
“I WAS RIGHT! IT WAS A TIME MACHIN- Oh sorry, I probably interrupted your little family moment.” Tails said, looking at the young family before him.
“OHOHOHO, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, PREPARE FOR YOUR DOOM!” A loud explosion was heard, and everyone quickly went outside to see Eggman in his Eggmobile, looking confident, as though he was going to win the battle.
“Ames, stay with the kids, take them inside, and make sure Eggman doesn’t see them!” Tails ‘aww’ed at the sight of Sonic being a protective ‘dad’, but quickly regained focus, and went on the X-Tornado to fire missiles. Amy obeyed the order, and quickly grabbed all three of the munchkins and went inside. The kids were squirming, wanting to go outside and participate, but Amy blocked the only way out.
“Mommy, why are you blocking the door? You always let us go Eggbutt’s robots!” Blur cried. Amy was horrified. Will she really be that irresponsible about the kids when she’s older?”
“No. Not today. It’s not safe, you could get hurt!” Amy said, holding the three in her arms. She heard their complaints, and felt their kicks, but held onto them anyway. She noticed Ariana scooted away from the cuddle-pile. Amy let go of the two in her arms, and walked over to the bubblegum hedgehog.
“What’s wrong, Ariana?” Ariana started whimpering, and that got Amy scared. Did she do something wrong? Ariana jumped into Amy’s arms, getting cradled by her mother. The middle child pulled away.
“I just distracted you so that Blur and Skid could go outside.” Ariana giggled, her laugh sounding a lot like Amy when she was four. Amy ran out the door, leaving Ariana in a puddle of laughter. She saw her targets, and almost fainted. They were battling, and helping Sonic! They were running around, beating the crab-bots and bee-bots with Sonic’s spin dash. With so many Sonic’s at once, the robots were all defeated within fifteen seconds. Sonic gathers his future offspring into his arms and threw them into the air. He caught them before Amy has a heart attack. She walks right up to them and starts to scold them.
“You two should be ashamed of yourselves! Your father tells you to stay inside, I tell you to stay inside, but what do you do?! You have your sister distract me with emotion, and run outside and help your father! I just wanted you three to stay safe! You’re lucky your dad didn’t scold you!” Amy had a dark and scary aura behind her that scared Blur and Skid.
“Mommy?” an innocent little voice melted the hearts’ of everyone that had heard her, except her brothers, you deal with this all the time.
“Yes, Princess?” Amy asked, but then looked at herself in shock. She was aware that this was her future child, and she was aware that she’d only just met them.
“I’m sorry I tricked you.” Ariana said, her eyes full of tears. Yes, of course Amy would feel guilty, Sonic just narrowed his eyes at his future child.
“Don’t get all regretful, Ames. I’ve seen this trick before.” Amy turned and looked at him. What trick? “You used to do this all the time. You’d guilt-trip anyone into getting what you want and making sure you were never blamed for something you clearly did.” Amy just glared at him, his words sinking in. Was she really a guilt-tripper? Well, at least she didn’t blackmail. Ariana made a pouting face at the younger version of her dad.
“Well, this was fun and all, but I think it’s time that the SonAmy children head home.” Sonic and Amy spun their heads to their two-tailed fox friend, who was just standing there with a smirk. Amy felt a bit sad, until Sonic held one of her hands. He smiled. Yes, you read right! He smiled at Amy. She felt happy, and took the kids back inside. Tails walked over to the time machine.
“So, while you were hanging out as a family, I figured out how to work this thing!” Tails exclaimed.
“Make sure ya don’t send them to the dinosaur times. Future me and Amy wouldn’t be very happy.” Sonic said, putting his arms behind his back.
“You know Sonic, I’m surprised how you’re this chill about having kids.” Tails replied, acting like he was fixing something in the machine. Sonic dropped out of his pose and glared at Tails. He glanced at Amy and saw her blush. Perfect opportunity.
“Well, Tails, I sure hope we have more than three, cause it must’ve been fun makin’ those kids.” He humped the air as if he were doing that to Amy. Her face went redder than a tomato and she made a disgusted face at him.
“There are children in our presence! Say something appropriate for once!” Amy yelled at him. He just chuckled, doing his signature rub-under-the-nose thing. Amy rolled her eyes.
“What’re mommy and daddy talking about?” Skid asked his ‘uncle Tails.’
“Grown up stuff.” Tails said, trying to avoid that question as much as possible, not wanting his future nieces and nephews getting scarred for life. They nodded. Tails turned to the flirting couple. “It’s time for you to say ‘bye,’” Tails said, while Ariana nuzzled into his leg. He smiled, feeling a tear slide down his cheek. He hugged the little ones, and pushed them to their past parents. They all hugged, Sonic tried to snuggle into Amy’s neck. They let go, and they lead the kids into the time machine.
“Bye, mom and dad!” they all said. Amy felt like crying again. Sonic held onto her waist, making her hit his arm.
“Yeesh, Ames. I was just trying to comfort you!” Sonic exclaimed, rubbing his arm.
“Stop acting like a married couple! You two aren’t married yet here or in their time.” Tails yelled at them, pointing at their future kids. “Okay, ready guys?” Tails asked. They nodded. He pushed a button, causing them and the machine to go back to their time. “Future me is gonna get beat up by future them.” Tails muttered as he saw Sonic kiss Amy’s cheek and laugh at her reaction.
“I’ll be such a cool dad~” Amy rolled her eyes.
     “We’ll see about that.”
Well, you never know what’s going to happen in the future.
This was so much fun to write!!! By the way, I won’t be able to post until the weekend because of University stuff.

Can I request a Shadow and Amy nutcracker au or roaring 20s au ficlet? I just love their dynamic haha
The Great Hedgehog
ShadAmy Roaring 20s AU
3K
.
"I remember when he used to be nobody."
"How did he get this rich?"
"Rumor has it that he sells alcohol."
"Can you both please concentrate on your job?"
Cream and Blaze looked at Amy, surprised and relieved that it was her and not a certain black hedgehog.
"If Mr. Shadow hears you, he will scold you."
1927, the economy was good for some and others not so much. Although the prohibition of alcohol angered the civilians, others saw this as an opportunity to become millionaires. Shadow the Hedgehog was not the exception, working all of his life with no results, he was finally given an opportunity to rise in the world of smuggling alcohol.
And in a couple of years, Shadow was the most wanted bachelor.
"Mr. Shadow must be tired from last night." Cream said. "He throws parties as if it was new years every weekend."
Blaze began to mop the floor as she added a small comment. "Or he is tired of attending all the ladies he brought to his room."
"Whatever it was if you want to keep getting paid 40 cents an hour then keep cleaning," Amy said she was cleaning one of the hundreds of windows the mansion had. Her eyes averted to the outside, she noticed a white hedgehog waiting outside the gates of the mansion.
"Guess who is here?" Amy looked at Blaze and teased her. "Loverboy if here for you."
"He is not my boyfriend!" Blaze looked around the room, not sure how to hide her embarrassment. "He is my friend ... besides, I can't see him right now. I need to clean the kitchen first."
Cream spun around the purple cat and smiled at her. "Don't worry, you go to your ... friend. I 'll go to the kitchen."
Blaze smiled shyly at her friends and whispered a 'thank you' to them. She left the two and Crea, was fast to go to the kitchen. Amy was by herself now. In what was one of Shadow's multiple 'resting room.' It was smaller than the others he had. However, Amy noticed that this room was Shadow's favorite room. The resting room consisted of a king-size bed, three windows that showed the outside of the house, a small sofa, and a vanity. Soft white colors and gold, and perfectly clean to show how rich he was. Amy was about to leave the room when she noticed she had missed a spot on the window. She grabbed her rag and as she was cleaning the dirty spot, she noticed a purple cat and white hedgehog.
Outside the gates, they whispered between each other. Sharing smiles and giggles. It was like this almost every day. Silver actually comes from a rich family but Blaze not so much. In one of Shadow's multiple parties, he met Silver and they clicked instantly. They became good friends and after coming to visit Shadow multiple times, Silver found himself falling in love with the purple cat.
But their love couldn't be.
Silver's parents would never allow him to be with Blaze, someone from the low class. For this reason, they could only meet in secret like this.
"It's wrong to stare."
His voice runs down her spine. It seemed like he had just woken up. His husky voice and his sleepy voice was something that Amy found oddly satisfying. Amy turned her body fully to face her boss.
"Good morning Mr. Shadow," Amy said.
"More like afternoon." Shadow walked towards the window and right away noticed the two secret lovers. Amy found herself close to the black hedgehog. She could smell his natural smell and cologne along with other types of expensive perfumes coming from the girls that were certain to be in his room.
"I don't know what is taking him so long to propose," Shadow said out loud. He wasn't meaning for that to be answered by his maid so when she did, he was surprised.
"If Mr. Silver marries Blaze, he will be disinherited." Amy added, "What kind of future will he provide Blaze if he doesn't have any money?"
"She won't be lonely ... they won't be lonely."
Shadow turned around to look at Amy. Within all of her maids, he trusted her the most. After all, she was the one who would arrange secret meetings with a certain white bat. "Just look at me ... I have all the money in the world and I am alone."
Amy felt embarrassed. She was aware of the undying love Shadow had for Rouge the Bat, the most beautiful female in all of Central City and wife of Knuckles the Echidna. One of Shadow's associates and owner of the mining caves outside the city.
Shadow and Rouge used to be in a serious relationship. Shadow was poor and the night he was going to propose to her, Rouge left him to marry Knuckles.
"My apologies Mr. Shadow. I shouldn't have-" Amy said but she was interrupted.
"It's alright Ms. Rose ... Please leave this room."
"Yes, Mr. Shadow."
Amy walked away and she slowly closed the door. Before closing it completely, Amy peeked through the door gap. She saw Shadow looking outside the window, sadness covered his face expression and melancholy was predominant in the air.
She closed the door, for some reason, she always found herself feeling the same grief as the black hedgehog.
.
"Come Shadow, I know Rouge and I know she won't leave Knuckles."
"But she loves me!"
"She loves the diamonds."
Sonic looked at himself in the multiple mirrors that surrounded him.
"I can give her that too!" Shadow responded.
"Exactly, if she has you both she will get double the diamonds. Sorry, but you know I think she is just using you."
Shadow looked at himself in mirrors along Sonic, he had gotten a new white suit imported from Italy and thought it would be good to wear it for tonight's party.
"Also, I don't understand how Rouge lets you be with other girls."
Sonic was one of Shadow's friends. He was honest with him, something that Shadow appreciated. Unlike him, Sonic worked hard to be where he is. A famous Olympic winner athlete and although he didn't have as much money as Shadow, Sonic already had a couple of business under his name. However, his main concentration at the moment was to create a new car brand.
"If I am with other girls, no one can suspect that she and I are secretly together." Shadow went outside his room, he looked around and like always he found Amy outside. She was there in case he needed anything. He invited her in, and she softly walked with towards the large closet room where enormous mirrors surrounded him.
Sonic noticed a pink hedgehog enter the closet, he stares more than he wanted but to be honest, it was strange to see a pink hedgehog.
"Believe me," Sonic said. "A girl who loves you would never want you to be with other girls no matter the circumstances."
Shadow sighed and went back to the mirrors. "Amy, pass me my suits as we talk."
Shadow began to undress and he was surprised when he didn't hear an answer from his maid.
"Amy?" Shadow asked again. He didn't hear an answer, he decided to turn and look at the pink hedgehog. What he found was actually interesting. A shy pink hedgehog staring at his blue friend with loving eyes.
Amy felt someone's eyes on her and she realized her position.
"Yes, Mr. Shadow!"
Shadow smirked at the pink one. Maybe it was time to pay off his debt.
"Sonic, Silver said he was going to be arriving around this time." Shadow said, "Would you mind checking outside the gate?"
"Sure," Sonic said and with the left the closet and the room.
Now, a shirtless Shadow and his loyal pink maid. Amy wasn't comfortable at all, she had seen Shadow shirtless multiple times. What made her uncomfortable, was the silence that surrounded them.
"The first time I asked you to arrange a secret meeting with Rouge, you didn't complain." Shadow said, "Everything was kept a secret and even know you never complained about it."
Amy stood quiet, waiting for her boss to continue.
"If you like Sonic ..." Shadow started, "I can help you with that."
.
Amy has had the longest crush in Sonic the Hedgehog since she can remember. She remembers living in the same orphanage as him however they parted ways as the orphanages began closing in the country. They used to be close friends but it seemed like Sonic had forgotten about her.
After they parted ways, Sonic was recruited to run competitively and Amy was simply a sewer assistant.
She still remembers hearing his name on the radio as he won the gold medal for the in the Muigleb Olympics.
And here she was now.
Walking down the stairs to join the party.
Amy has been Shadow's maid since around 3 years ago and not once has she ever participated in one of these parties. She mostly went the day after, ready to clean the mess made by the elites.
Her long black dress accentuated her figure. It was sleeveless and she places her hands in front of her, making her long white gloves stand out, contrasting with the black dress. Beautiful golden patterns decorated the dress, up and down, around her waist and her chest area. Instead of her usual red headband, her hair was decorated with a diamond headpiece that placed itself on her forehead. Amy had always thought of herself as an average looking but she couldn't help and giggle as she felt the male's eyes observing her.
Who could have thought that Shadow had such a good taste?
However, Amy felt out of tone. The biggest party she had been to was Blaze's 21 birthday. They had music playing on the Radio, not live musicians. There was confetti, not all of these bright lights. They were drinking lemonade and of course no alcohol.
She was curious about the taste and of her goals tonight was to at least take a sip of that.
Her main goal was to have a decent conversation with Sonic the Hedgehog.
As soon she finished walking down the stairs, she was approached by multiple males. Asking her name. She had to tell lies, of course, she couldn't say she was a maid.
She was starting to panic until someone came to rescue her.
"Excuse me, miss?"
She recognized that voice. It was the blue one. The males surrounding Amy opened up the space between him and the girl.
Sonic smiled at Amy and offered her his hand. "May I escort you?"
Amy didn't even think for a second and she held his hands. The other man backoff and Sonic took Amy and they began to walk across the gigantic backyard.
They walked around the pool, and across the water fountain where the buffet was. All class of food was on the buffet table, Amy always had pride in her cooking but the food here made her cooking look like trash. Or so, that she thought.
"You were in trouble back there, right?" Sonic added, "You are Shadow's maid correct? Don't worry I won't anyone."
Sonic offered Amy a glass of water which she accepted sadly. "How ... did you?"
"You are a pink hedgehog, you don't see that very often." Sonic decided to tease her a little. "There's a royal family in Muigleg that only consists of only pink hedgehogs. You know, the first time I saw you I thought you were a princess that decided to hook up with Shadow."
Amy felt the heat rise in her cheeks. Just the thought of Shadow and her ... no.
Sonic left out a few laughs and he was content with the results. The pink one, although she wasn't speaking much, had funny facial expressions.
"So ... what is your name?"
"Amy."
"Amy?" Sonic tilted his head a bit in confusion. "That sounds oddly familiar ... do you mind telling me your last name?"
"I am Amy R-"
"Mr. Shadow! Let's go to your room!"
Amy's attention was drawn towards the black hedgehog. As always, he was surrounded by beautiful girls.
But this time it was different.
"No, I want to be alone."
"Come one! You will have fun with us."
A girl came closer to him and began to kiss him. He tried pulling her away but she back to kissing.
"No, I said no," Shadow said again. He was having difficulty standing up straight and keeping his eyes open.
Amy looked back at Sonic.
"I think we need to help him."
"Shadow?" Sonic asked. "He will be fine. This is what happens every weekend. Shadow gets drunk, girls get all over him, he says no but they always convince him to go to his room."
"But he is drunk," Amy replied.
"Don't think about it too much, he is ok with it," Sonic walked towards Amy. He placed a hand on her shoulder, making her had her whole attention. "Let's not think about this ... Instead, let's spend the night together, shall we?"
Amy thought that she was willing to give up on everything if that meant she could spend a night with Sonic.
Seeing him smile once again was everything she needed.
But even with that, her answer was clear.
She didn't hesitate, it wasn't even a question. It was her priority.
"I am sorry ladies, but the bank's closed."
Amy interrupted the crow of girls who were dragging Shadow to his room. All of them stopped and looked at her, not wanting to go without a fight.
"And who are you?" One of the girls asked.
.
Amy was surprised that she came alive out of that one. One good thing about rich girls is that certainly, they didn't know how to fight. It was over soon, everyone was too into the party to even bother with them and my finish with a small scratch in her cheek.
She was victorious and her trophy was taking a drunk Shadow to his room.
She placed him on his bed and closed the door behind them. Shadow sat down on the edge of the bed, too drunk to know what was happening.
Amy examined him, his suit was tight making his strong physic stand out. Amy had to admit that it made him look very attractive but it wasn't very convenient at the moment.
She began to undress him. She took off his suit and Amy wanted to take off his shirt as well but Shadow stopped her.
"No," Shadow said.
"If you throw up, I don't want you to stain your shirt," Amy said.
"I have more."
"Oh yes ... looking at your like this makes me forget you are rich." Amy replied as she attempted to take off his shirt again. "But I don't want to be cleaning it tomorrow anyways!"
"Why you clean?" Shadow asked with a hiccup.
"That's what I must do," Amy replied. Shadow seemed more comfortable now. He was letting her unbutton his shirt.
"Why? Are you my wife?"
Amy let out a small laugh and replied. "Mr. Shadow, if I was your wife then you wouldn't be like this. That much I can promise you."
"Then marry me."
Amy knew that he didn't mean it but his voice showed so much sincerity that it scared her. She was in almost done unbuttoning his shirt. However, she stopped and looked at him in the eyes.
"I don't want to be like this," Shadow said as he grabbed Amy's eyes. "I don't want to be alone anymore."
Shadow may have gotten all of his money out of selling alcohol. He may have a cold personality but he was alone. Shadow felt alone all the time.
Even with that Shadow had a kind heart, he was caring and selfless. Amy knew this was true because in the three years she had been working with him, he had shown her that and more. Shadow was a great hedgehog.
"I can't promise you life but I can promise you this night," Amy replied. "Go to sleep, don't worry I will be here with you."
"You won't leave?"
"I won't, I promise-"
Blaargh
Amy looked disgusted at Shadow. Not only had he vomited on his pants, but he had also throw up her dress.
"MR. SHADOW! NOT ON THE CARPET!"
It had been hell bringing up Shadow to his room. But it was going to be a whole new adventure to make him shower.
But Amy was willing to that and more ... everything for Mr. Shadow ... the ‘great’  Hedgehog.

A.N: I am so sorry this took longer to write. However, I really hope you enjoyed this. It was fun to write and I had to re-watch the Great Gatsby. It's slightly based on that with some twists. Anyways thank you for the beautiful prompt!

The Girl Next Door (Part 11) - Starry Night
Tumblr media
Summary: Dean takes the reader out on a surprise date...
The Girl Next Door Masterlist
Pairing: Neighbor/Mechanic!Dean x baker!reader
Word Count: 5,800ish
Warnings: language
A/N: Enjoy!
Reader’s POV
You woke up warm, a blanket half draped over you. Fingers were playing in your hair and you tilted your head up, Dean laying beside you with his head propped up in his free hand.
“Good morning,” he said gently, giving you a kiss. “Sleep good?”
“Yeah,” you said, stretching out some, curling back onto your side and into his chest. He giggled, such a cute noise you lifted your head to find his face. “Your bedhead is amazing. It’s like a spiky little fluffy hedgehog climbed up there or something.”
“Oh. Well. If you want to talk bedhead,” he said, gaze darting around. “You are one to be saying something right now, sweetheart.”
He smiled and ran his thumb over a piece, that one piece that always stuck straight up somehow, smiling when it popped straight back up again.
“You’re a very good snuggler,” you said.
“It’s one of my many skills,” he teased. “I’m very good at being a big spoon and cuddling under blankets too.”
“Suddenly I wish it were winter,” you laughed. He chuckled as you sat up, watching you look around for your crutches. “Uh, Dean. Not to ruin the moment but I gotta use the bathroom.”
“Okay,” he said. You ran a hand over your face to wipe away the light blush, Dean sitting up and pulling you into his lap.
“I can walk Dean,” you laughed as he carried you into your bathroom.
“Yeah but this is faster. Shout if you need anything,” he said. He shut the door after himself and you got a few minutes alone, pushing open the door when you finished to find the bed made and your crutches up against the wall. You snagged them just as Dean came back in the room. “So I’ll let you get dressed and if you need help, Jack said he could since I don’t want to be seeing things you aren’t comfortable showing yet if that’s alright.”
“I’ll be fine,” you said. Jack popped around the corner and you asked him to grab a tank top from your closet. He pulled out a light orange colored Henley one. Normally you would have worn your favorite faded denim shorts with it but you were on loose clothing down there for the next little while.
You grabbed a pair of blue running shorts instead and a new pair of underwear and bra from your dresser before you sat back on the bed. Jack left and you could hear he and Dean talking farther down the hall. Surprisingly, getting your bottom half dressed was far easier than the top. You got your bra on decent enough but your side ached. Looking down, there was a large bruise, an ugly dark purple, running all along your left side. You took a deep breath and tugged on your tank top, laying back through gritted teeth when you finished.
“You doing okay in there? Sounds not fun,” called Dean.
“I’m okay. Pain meds wore off is all. You guys can come in,” you said. “Someone bring me Tylenol please.”
“Hey,” said Dean, stepping inside and helping you sit up. Jack ducked into your bathroom and exited with a bottle and glass of water. “Shouldn’t you take the medicine the doctor gave you?”
“It’s too strong. I don’t like it. This is fine,” you said, taking a pill. “I’ll take it slow for a few days.”
“Alright. You up for some breakfast?” asked Dean. You nodded, Dean kneeling down in front of you. “Climb on. Careful of that leg.”
“I know,” you said, getting on his back. Three minutes later you were set down in Sam’s kitchen, sniffing the air and getting a whiff of strawberries and cream. “Mmm. I should make some danishes this week.”
“You ain’t making nothing, sis,” said Jack, setting a glass down in front of you. “You’re off that leg all week.”
“I got orders to make up,” you said, pursing your lips until you stared at Sam who was rolling his eyes. “What?”
“Let us bake. I’m off babysitter duty and Dean’s going back part time everyday this week but he and Jack are home in the afternoon. We can help out,” said Sam.
“You’re not supposed to be working Sam,” you said.
“Well neither are you,” he said. “And it’s baking, not case law.”
“How about you two rest and you make up a list of what Jack and I need to make and then in the afternoon, we can do it, hm?” said Dean. “Sound good?”
“I got deliveries at noon tomorrow though,” you said, Sam sliding a waffle covered plate in front of you.
“We can make cookies today!” said Avy. Dean looked at you and you sighed, nodding your head.
“Alright but Jack is in charge since he’s been helping out a little in the afternoon’s,” you said.
“Perfect. This’ll be great.”
“Boys are silly,” said Avy as you hung out on your back porch later that day, drawing a few pictures with her.
“Oh yes they are,” you said.
“You know we can hear you two!” said Dean through your open back door. You laughed and reached up to open the door, poking your head in.
“While it was funny the first time, please don’t drop that bag of flour all over the floor too,” you said.
“We got it,” said Sam.
“I smell something burning,” said Avy.
“Did you boys set the timer to eleven minutes?” you asked with a hum.
“Yes...how long before they were in there when we did that?” asked Sam.
“New batch boys. I don’t sell burnt things,” you said.
“This is hard,” grumbled Sam as he stepped outside. “I’m playing the brain card and taking a break.”
“Help me up?” you asked, Sam lifting you to your feet when he came onto the back porch. “Thanks.”
You popped inside on one crutch, much easier to get around on in the house, Dean and Jack staring at the empty mixing bowl. You took a seat on one of the counter stools, Jack flicking his eyes in your direction. You let your own wander over to the directions you had printed in the binder, Dean scratching his head.
“Alright. Dean, you measure out everything. Jack, dump the old cookies and wash off the sheet carefully. I’ll walk you through it.”
“I’m exhausted,” said Dean, plopping down in a kitchen chair a few hours later, staring at the pink boxes you had stacked and ready to go. “It was only chocolate chip cookies too.”
“And it’s tiring work,” you said, Jack frosting a few of the sugar cookies you’d made. “Dean, you guys really don’t have to do this after work tomorrow. I can get around the kitchen pretty good. I-”
“You see what I’ve been dealing with my whole life?” said Jack, lifting up the cookie sheet, a pretty decent job if you had to say so. “Always been a perfectionist this one.”
“You do remember when I didn’t even exist to dad for like...years,” you said. “You were the golden child for quite a while.”
“I get the feeling your dad was a bit of a hard ass,” said Dean, leaning back in his seat. You shrugged, Jack doing the same.
“He loved us and I was very upset when he and mom died. We both were. Dad just wasn’t...affectionate really. He worked a lot. Valued intelligence,” said Jack.
“It wasn’t until I told him I wanted to be a neurosurgeon that he looked in my direction. Apparently I should have said I was going to be a doctor when I was four like Jack did and not fourteen,” you said.
“When’d you drop out of school, Jack?” asked Dean, a smile in his voice.
“After freshman year. I mean, I like school. I was good at it. It just...dad had my entire life planned out already. I had no say. I think I was more afraid of turning into him than anything,” said Jack.
“Yeah. I understand that,” said Dean, looking over his shoulder and back at Sam’s house, his parents car parked in the driveway. “So your mom raised you two? You’re both relatively normal human beings.”
“Yes and no,” you said, glancing to Jack. “Our mom…”
“Mom was the kind of woman that slept with the tennis instructor,” said Jack. “She you know, raised us and all that and made up for what dad didn’t do but if she had a date, she had a date. Mom and dad had a very...open relationship. Grandma watched us mostly until I got old enough to stay home with Y/N alone.”
“Wow. We’re the freaking Brady bunch compared to your family,” said Dean.
“They were never cruel or unkind. Very focused on their goals was all, whether that was a job or men or whatever,” you said.
“So when I decide to not have a life plan, it sort of made them both tailspin,” said Jack.
“Still. It’s your life. Not theirs,” said Dean, twitching up his lip in a smile. “I’ll be back over in a few minutes if that’s alright. I want to say hey to my parents before they head home.”
“Dean,” you said. He stopped on the way to the door. “Tell them thank you for bringing dinner by for us tonight. I appreciate that.”
“I’ll be back soon,” he said. The house was quiet once he left, Jack finishing up the last few cookies, packing them neatly in a box. He tucked them all away in the overnight storage area, washing up a few things before he started to dry off his hands.
“Jack,” you said, Jack tossing down a towel on the counter. “Do you still paint?”
“I haven’t painted in a long long time,” he said.
“Would you paint something for the house? Maybe something for the front entrance. That wall where the little table is?” you asked.
“I can do that. What are you looking for?” he asked.
“Surprise me?”
“Dad always thought it was a stupid hobby.”
“Dad thought baking was a stupid hobby too. I love dad, Jack. I do. I love mom too. But they’re gone. I’m never going to call you a failure because you don’t want to be a workaholic asshole doctor like he was that barely noticed his own children. Dean’s got a point. These are our lives, Jack. We can do what we want with them. If you want to work in the garage the rest of your life, shit you want to go be a barista, mulch yards, go paint, I don’t care. I want us both to be happy and...I’m really starting to feel happy, Jack. For the first time. You seem more like yourself again too. Mom and dad wasn’t your fault. Whatever happened at that Bryerwood place wasn’t your fault. I almost died two days ago, Jack. It was close, closer than Sam and I made it sound. I just want you to know that if something happened to me, I’m really happy you’re my brother and I love you and you better go and get your ass over to the Winchesters because you’ll be a hot mess and they’ll take care of you, alright?”
“You still love me?” he asked.
“Yeah. I do,” you said. “I’m sorry if you felt like I didn’t.”
“You gave me a second chance. I already knew. It’s nice to hear it is all,” he said.
“How can I not love my big brother?” you teased.
“I love you too,” he said. He stepped over and gave you a hug, the door opening and closing, your head turning to give Dean a smile and an aw.
“Was there a moment?” he smirked.
“Moment’s done,” said Jack. “I’m going to shower and crash. I’m beat.”
“Alright. Get some sleep, Jackie,” you said.
“Night, puppy,” he said.
“Puppy?” asked Dean.
“He wanted a puppy when my mom was pregnant. He thought he was getting a puppy, not a little sister,” you said. “He was only like two so you gotta give him some slack.”
“I thought Sammy was going to be a watermelon,” said Dean. “Mom’s stomach got huge.”
“I bet. He was probably a big baby. Do you mind locking up the front door?” you asked, starting to head for the stairs. “If you’re staying over that is.”
“Would you like me to stay?” he asked, holding up a backpack. “Whatever you want is fine with me.”
“What are you comfortable with?” you asked.
“Oh my god. You two are disgusting,” called Jack from the upstairs balcony. “Just stay over, dumbass.”
“I think I liked you better when you were antsy, you know!” shouted back Dean. “Kids these days, I swear.”
“What are you, a thousand?” said Jack. “I’m only five years younger.”
“Excuse me, sweetheart,” said Dean with a smirk after locking the back door. “I have to go give your big brother a reason why he should be grateful he doesn’t have one of his own.”
“Dean’s coming to destroy you, just an fyi,” you said as you looked upwards, Dean jogging past you and up the stairs, Jack’s feet pounding but you heard a thud and pair of laugh’s coming from the hall. “Avy you were right. Boys are silly.”
Monday Morning
“Hi girlie,” you said, smiling when Eileen stepped inside the house.
“Could you guys like, stop dying, please. This is too stressful for me,” she said, setting her bag down by the door. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you said, Eileen raising an eyebrow. “Yes, Nurse Lehay, I’m fine.”
“You staying off that leg?” she said, throwing an arm under your shoulder. You hummed as she helped you upstairs and to your room, setting you down on your bathroom bench.
“I forgot how strong you get lugging around bodies all day,” you said.
“Says the chick picking up all those sacks of flour and sugar all day long,” she said, going to your shower and turning it on. She stared at you a moment and you sighed. “Y/N, we were roommates. How many times have I seen you naked?”
“I know. Just...don’t freak on me,” you said.
“I’m a nurse. It takes a lot to freak me out,” she said. You peeled off your shirt, Eileen closing her eyes.
“Totally not noticeable, right?” you said.
“That is a nasty bruise,” she said, kneeling beside you. You took off your bra and covered your chest with an arm, letting her get a better look. “Well, it ain’t pretty but there are signs of healing. I’m shocked you didn’t break any of these ribs. Must have eaten your wheaties that day.”
“Sam grabbed the wheel and turned it. He was looking that direction thankfully. I don’t think I’d be walking if he hadn’t,” you said. “Or breathing.”
“You never know with car accidents. Sometimes they’re bad, sometimes you walk away with only a few scratches,” she said. “Alright. First we get you in the shower and then I can put on a new bandage for you.”
“I wish all patients were like you,” teased Eileen after your shower and you were dressed on the bed. “You know how uncomfortable all the bending is.”
“I have tweaked my back changing bandages on people so many times,” you said, lowering your leg back to the bed. “So you officially done with Mr. Winchester next door?”
“Nursing, yes. Other aspects are...starting up,” she said with a smile.
“Sam’s a good guy, Eileen,” you said. “He likes you. You got to be pretty special for Sam Winchester to like you.”
“I know. I totally broke all the rules with him but...he’s sweet. We’re going out tonight,” she said, tucking her hair behind her ear. “You and Dean doing anything fun?”
“Babysitting Avy with him and my brother?” you laughed. “I’m sure I’m in for a thrilling night myself.”
You were a little surprised when Sam dropped Avy off himself at your house that night. You were more surprised when Jack said he was watching her that night.
“Avy, why don’t you go help Y/N pick out a dress?” asked Sam. She took your hand and with a little help from Jack, you were upstairs, standing in front of your closet.
“What about this one?” asked Avy. You laughed and shook your head.
“That was my prom dress, Avy. I don’t know why I even have that still. How about one of those light summer ones on the end?”
She pursed her lips and stood in front of the three of them, two you’d never even worn beside the store. She pointed at the white one with little flowers on it, the tag still hanging on it.
“I think we got a winner,” you said. “Can you get up on your tiptoes and take it off the rack for me?”
“Here you go,” she said, handing it over. You ripped off the tags and dropped them in the garbage. “Mommy had a dress like that.”
“She did? Do you remember doing stuff with your mom?” you asked, Avy hopping into the bedroom while you changed in the closet.
“Not really. I know she was nice and daddy loved her and I loved her though. He used to be really quiet after she died, like at nighttime,” she said. “Uncle Dean lived with us for a while when I was really little.”
“You know Avy, my and Jack’s mom died too, and our dad,” you said, stepping out into the room, taking a seat on the bench. “If you ever want to talk about that stuff, we understand how it can feel funny.”
“Daddy talks about mommy a lot since his accident. But happy now if that makes sense,” she said.
“It does. Did your daddy talk to you about Eileen?”
“Mhm. I like her. She makes daddy happy and she’s gonna take me and him to the zoo on Saturday!” she said.
“Well Eileen’s been my friend for a while and I know you guys are gonna get along great,” you said. “Would you mind grabbing my crutch over there?”
“Mhm. I told daddy to stop getting in car accidents,” she said as she handed it to you and you stood up.
“I second that,” you said, smiling at her and twirling the bottom of your dress. “What do you think? Look good?”
“Uh huh. Uncle Dean will like that,” she said.
“I bet he will,” you said. “You have fun with Jack tonight. Beat him in Mario Kart for me.”
“Okey dokey,” she said. You laughed and headed out of the room, managing the stairs with Jack’s help.
Sam said goodbye to Avy before he left and you sat out on the front porch, smirking as you saw Dean slip out of Baby he’d parked out front. He was wearing a light red flannel, gray tee and some faded jeans, hands behind his back as he wandered up the driveway.
“Well who told you you were allowed to be that beautiful?” he said. You bit down your smile, Dean hopping onto the porch, bending down to deliver a kiss. “Hi.”
“Hi,” you said, Dean pulling you to your feet and picking you up. “Can I keep you?”
“Please do,” he said, laughing as he got you settled into Baby, your crutches in the back.
“So where are you taking me all dolled up like this?” you asked.
“It's a surprise,” he said, bopping you on the nose. “You just sit back, relax, and let me take care of everything.”
Dean smiled and turned on the radio, backing out of the driveway and heading down the street, driving until you hit some back roads and you started to hit true farm country. He had the window down, singing along to one of the songs, tufts of soft hair moving in the wind. You took a quick picture, smiling before you set your phone back in your lap.
“Dean?”
“Hm?”
“You look so happy,” you said.
“I got my girl. I got my Baby. I got some tunes on a perfect summer night. I’m the happiest guy in the world, sweetheart,” he said.
“So what’s my surprise?” you asked, Dean shaking his head.
“Nope. I’m not telling. You just hold tight for a hot minute,” he said. You went along with him, Dean pulling off on a random dirt road between two fields, driving slowly as the sun started to set, the sky a brilliant orange and pink. He drove for only a minute and he drove onto the grass, pulling to a stop. “We’re here.”
“Middle of nowhere? We sure are,” you laughed.
“Oh but my lady, you are at the most exclusive locale in the world,” he said, grinning ear to ear. “Out of the car with you.”
He hopped out and had you sit on the hood, humming while he grabbed some things out of the trunk.
“Don’t you dare turn around on me,” he warned, a lot of thudding and dropping going on behind you.
“Or what?” you laughed.
“Or...shut up,” he said, chuckling to himself. He worked for a few more minutes, as you watched the sun dip lower, Dean suddenly in front of you. “Trust me?”
“Definitely.”
He smiled and picked you up, your arms going around his shoulders.
“Close your eyes for me, Y/N. We aren’t going far,” he said. You did as told, Dean walking the two of you around to the other end. “I’m gonna set you down and spin you the other way. Keep ‘em closed and hold onto my shoulders, okay?”
“Okay,” you said. You felt your feet touch the ground, Dean sliding around to your bad leg, wrapping an arm around your waist to help keep the weight off of it.
“Alright. You can open now.”
You blinked a few times, turning your head up to look at him, giving him a side hug.
He had a cooler set down near a log, a blanket spread out on the ground and a tasty looking meal set out for you on top of it. There was a fire going just off to the side and you had no idea where he even got the wood from to start it.
“As I said, very exclusive place,” he said.
“I love it,” you said. You took a seat on the blanket, Dean grabbing you each a drink for your dinner. It was a homemade meal but delicious, Dean spending more time looking at you than paying his food any attention. He held up a finger and got up, turning on the radio in Baby, quiet music filtering over to where you sat.
When you finished, he pulled the blanket over to the fire, laying on top of it and back against the log, tucking you into his side.
“The stars are starting to come out,” you said, the sun long gone below the horizon.
“Yeah,” said Dean softly. “You can see a lot of them out here. Away from town.”
“Would you want to go on a weekend trip sometime? Once my leg is better,” you said. “Just us?”
“I would love that,” he said, kissing your cheek. “We could even take a few days more if you wanted.”
“Where do you want to go? The beach? Camping?” you asked.
“As long as I don’t have to fly, I’m all ears,” he said.
“Anywhere you’ve ever wanted to go and haven’t?”
“I just had the stupidest idea,” he said as he grinned.
“Hit me with it,” you said, watching a few flames.
“Road trip. A food road trip. We hit up some of the best barbecue places in the country. Texas, Georgia,Tennessee. It could be fun,” he said. “But like I said, it’s really stupid.”
You sat up, staring at him before you whacked him in the arm.
“That’s the best idea ever! Hell yeah we’re doing that!” you said. “That’ll be so much fun!”
“Really?” he said. You nodded, Dean smiling to himself. “Well I say we got ourselves a little road trip soon then.”
“Awesome. It’ll give me something to look forward to besides tossing that stupid crutch in the trash,” you said, Dean pulling you back to his chest.
“Hey, it’s not all that bad. I got plenty of excuses to give you piggyback rides now,” he said, resting his head against the top of yours. “How’s your side feeling today?”
“Sore still but I’ll survive. You’re very comfy,” you said.
“You’re very beautiful,” he said, your bandage peeking out from the bottom of your dress, Dean’s finger trailing over the edge of it. “Y/N. This thing we have going on...this relationship...it means a lot to me.”
“Me too. This isn’t a fling for me, Dean,” you said, tilting your head up with a smile.
“I know, sweetheart,” he said, moving his hand, finding your own to play with. “It’s not for me either. But I’m falling. I’m falling so damn fast and it feels...different. I was a wreck at the hospital after your accident. I snuck outside and...that was the second time in as many months that I thought someone I care about wasn’t walking out of that place. I bawled like a baby, Y/N. I thought how dare you just come into my life and make me feel happy and like it’s okay for someone else to take care of me for the first time and then you were almost out of it. Not to mention what you did for Sammy. Sure it was a gut reaction but somewhere in that head of yours you care enough to keep him safe. I guess I’m rambling and I’ll deny I ever said any of that but...you’re important to me. God, I hope you know what that means to me,” he said. You smiled and nodded, giving him a kiss.
“I do,” you said, barely above a whisper, the fire crackling in front of you. “I have something to admit.”
“What?” he breathed out.
“See, I’m falling too. It feels like I forget to breathe sometimes when I think about it. But as long as we’re both falling...maybe we’ll be lucky enough to hit the ground together,” you said.
“If we’re lucky,” he said with a small nod. “I really hope we get lucky. We’re due for some good luck.”
“I think we might get lucky,” you said, staring up at him, big green eyes staring back. “You gotta stop doing that.”
“Doing what, sweetheart?”
“Making me forget to breathe,” you said.
“S’only fair. My stomach’s been doing flips from the second I met you,” he said, eyes darting around your face. “I’m gonna kiss you now.”
“Good. I was running out of metaphors,” you said. Dean lay you back against the ground, laying on his side before he cupped your cheek, kissing you softly, making a lazy game out of it.
You arched up into it, rolling to your bad side when pain shot through it. You hissed and rolled back, Dean pressing a finger to your lips.
“Stay,” he said, kissing you again, still slow, still sweet. He lay his arm out so you could rest your head on it, his other hand touching your face, mapping out lines and curves. You let yourself do the same, feel the scruff on his cheeks, the hard set jaw that was relaxed right now, dance over the freckles adorning his skin.
Your hand wandered to the back of his neck and to his hair. His hair was always so soft, little spikes sticking up, little tufts forming that made him even more gorgeous.
Anyone that ever thought he was stupid or not good enough had to have been nuts.
Dean pulled back, his face flush, a few big breaths leaving him and fanning over your face. He smiled goofily and you took the opportunity to nuzzle a finger under his chin, Dean curling his head into it.
“Tickles,” he mumbled, your finger trailing down to his collar, dipping in the hollow of the bone. “Y/N.”
“Sorry,” you said, moving your arm over his waist instead.
“You like me for me,” he said. There wasn’t a question in there so you didn’t say anything, Dean moving a few strands of your hair around. “Can I tell you something, something no one else knows? Even Sammy doesn’t know.”
“Yeah. I won’t tell,” you said. He smiled and looked behind you at the fire, up at the dark sky and the bright stars that were peeking out. Finally he settled his gaze back on your face, a shy look there.
“Last week I applied to this mechanic training program in Kansas City. Just outside the city actually. It’s for...it teaches more stuff, more foreign cars, high end cars, motorcycles. Stuff that Bobby never knew about, none of the guys at the shop do. It’d really help the business grow. I uh...I got in,” he said, biting his bottom lip. “I wanted to tell you on our date on Friday but that obviously didn’t happen.”
“You did? That’s great, Dean! I’m so proud of you,” you said, tucking in closer to give him a hug.
“I...I did good on the test and...I got a scholarship for it. It’s only be for like the fall and in the afternoons but...yeah,” he said with a smile. You sat up, ignoring the pain in your side at the sudden movement.
“I am so happy for you,” you said, giving him a bigger hug and kiss when he leaned up. “Are you excited?”
“Yeah. Nervous. Been awhile since I was in school. All these other guys are gonna be like straight out of high school,” he said, his cheeks pink for a few seconds.
“Well you have a ton of experience and you’re so smart. You’re gonna do great. If you have tests, I can help you study or-“
“I know, honey. You know, I’ve wanted to apply for years now. Always thought I wasn’t good enough. But you never believed that,” he said, shrugging his shoulder. “I thought...maybe you were right and so I put in for it...thank you, sweetheart.”
“You are more than good enough, for whatever you want to do or try,” you said. Dean rested his forehead against your own. “You got that, Winchester?”
“I got it,” he laughed. “I’d hate to get on your bad side after all.”
“You’re never getting on my bad side,” you said, bumping your nose to his. “I think you should tell Sam and everyone, let them know you got in.”
“It’s not like I got into Stanford,” he said, looking down.
“Dean,” you said, lifting your head, Dean’s moving with it, the two of you slowly peeling apart, the flames behind you lighting up his face. “You did something for you. You put yourself first for the first time since I’ve met you. I know that is not something you do very often. I want to celebrate this, celebrate you.”
“These have been the worst few months of my life, but also the best.”
“You gave me back my brother,” you said. “That alone is...then I get you and...do you remember that morning in my kitchen when Jack showed up that day?” Dean nodded, reaching towards your lap and taking your hands in his.
“You said you were lonely in that house. You’ve been lonely for a long time, haven’t you,” he said.
“I don’t feel so lonely anymore. I’m over Sam’s everyday, always with someone it seems. I still like my quiet time, like you, but it’s refreshing now,” you said. “Not so...unwanted.”
“Good. You’re gonna make a baker out of that boy,” said Dean. “Sammy always did like making cookies with mom.”
“What’s your favorite kind of pie, Dean?” you asked.
“Cherry. You are very much wanted too, sweetheart,” he said, carefully sliding you to sit in his lap.
“Well tomorrow I am making you a cherry pie for getting into your school and for being arguably the best neighbor I’ve ever had,” you said, tossing your arms over his shoulders.
“Was that all it took?” he teased.
“Dean?”
“Y/N.”
“I want to kiss you again,” you said.
“Please do,” he said, laying the both of you down again. “You’re always welcome to do that.”
“Y/N,” said Dean, your eyes blinking open as you felt yourself be set down on your bed hours later. “Don’t wake up. I’m just gonna take off your sneakers and get you covered up, okay?”
“We’re home?” you mumbled.
“Yeah. You kept insisting we stay but I got work and you need a proper bed to rest in,” he said, your shoes falling to the floor. You shut your eyes and felt a light blanket come over you. Something moved your hair and Dean pulled it out of the loose pony it’d been in.
“Sleep tight, sweetheart,” he said, kissing your temple.
You were out before he even had a chance to turn off the light.

Previous Chapters: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6.5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Lucas is an angry, closeted and frustrated gay teenager, while Eliott is the handsome, smart and popular guy in school. They hate each other… but not forever.
Minute by minute
Lucas was in the flat, laughing his ass off on the couch as he watched Mika, Lisa and Manon trying to play twister. They were suffering here for hours now, Lucas even posted a hilarious photo on instagram. They always switched places on the couch, since they couldn’t let Lucas be the one who spins all night. He was having a lot of fun, drinking some beer while watching his flatmates getting their limbs intertwined with not much hope to get them free anytime soon. He noticed that his phone was buzzing in his pocket, so he put down his beer, checking who texted him. He started to breathe faster as he opened the message. It was a picture, a screenshot of an instagram post.
sofalaoui I don’t know what’s up with him, but Eliott just posted this
Lucas got up from the couch so fast, he almost stumbled over his flatmates. He grabbed the armchair and trying not to fall over. The others looked at him confused. His chest started to hurt like hell, eyes filling up with tears. He didn’t have time to explain, so he just ran to the door, putting on his jacket and his shoes, then he left with his keys in his hands.
As he was sitting on the bus, he decided to text Lucille, he wanted to make sure that Eliott was okay. He needed information about him, anything. He could feel his heartbeats thumping in his ears, making it impossible for him to listen to the sounds around him. When he recieved a text, he almost jumped in his seat. He was on his nerves, worrying about his boyfriend more than anything.
From Lucille He is fine, sleeping on the couch, why are you asking?
To Lucille Can I have some alone time with him?  I’m heading to his place now
From Lucille  Sure, I’ll be waiting for you, then I’ll go out and watch a movie
To Lucille  Thank you
The bus ride seemed like an eternity to Lucas. He was extremely nervous, trying to plan what to say or do when he meets Eliott again. He had to be convincing, he had to do something serious. His boyfriend, because he still wanted to think of him like that needed to know that no matter what happens, Lucas is not going to leave him, that he will stay with him.
When the bus finally reached the right stop, he basically jumped off, running towards the building where Eliott was living. He couldn’t stop himself, he felt like he had to hurry, even if Eliott was safe. Everything happened so fast on saturday and sunday, he wanted to just hug him and whisper kind things into his ears.
As he got to the place, Lucille was waiting outside with a soft smile on her face. She was wearing a long, grey coat. Lucas remembered seeing that on her when he thought she was Eliott’s girlfriend back then. She looked stunning, like always, wearing just a small amount of makeup, her hair was curly and shiny. Unlike the boy who was now sweaty and exhausted, barely catching his breath. And even if he was disgusting, the girl pulled him into a soft hug, which almost made him cry. He hugged back, wrapping one arm around her waist.
“I’m so happy to see you.” Lucille said honestly and Lucas tightened his arm around her.
“I’m happy too.” he mumbled and let her go now.
“You can go up, the door is open. He’s sleeping on the couch, not sure when he’s going to wake up, but be patient with him. He was really grumpy and moody in the last few days.” she explained and kissed the boy on the cheek. “See you.” she chimed and walked away.
Lucas took a deep breath and entered the building, climbing up on the stairs to the third floor. He was nervous as he stood in front of that so familiar door. So many things happened to him here, so many good memories. He slowly opened it, walking inside as quietly as possible and closing the door behind himself. He took off his shoes and his jacket, walking to the living room. He felt like someone punched the air out of his lungs when he saw the tall boy laying on the couch, sleeping somewhat peacefully.
He looked pale and the living room smelled like weed. The first thing that catched his eye were the drawings on the coffee table. He gasped, walking closer and picking up one. It was a hedgehog playing the piano. He grabbed another which showed a crying hedgehog in a hotel room. He looked at the sleeping boy with a painful expression. He was thinking about Lucas all this time, drawing him in different situations, but mostly almost being sad and that broke his heart. He didn’t wanted Eliott to think that he was sad because of what happened.
He knelt down next to the couch and stroked Eliott’s hair gently. He only moved a little to this, but didn’t wake up, which get out of Lucas a relieved sigh. He didn’t know if he could form any decent sentence or even speak to this gorgeous human being. He was so perfect, even with that growing stubble on his face and the dark circles around his eyes. It was almost painful how much he missed to see those steel blue eyes, all the feelings Eliott could press into one intense stare.
He looked behind now, at the piano next to the bookshelf and had an idea. He found a nice piece of music not so long ago that he was practicing in the common room. He actually planned to play it for Eliott, since it was called I love you. Yes, a bit cheesy, but also kinda romantic, and his boyfriend was a sucker for romantic shit. He got up now, looking for the music sheet on his phone. When he finally found it, he walked to the piano, placing his phone down with the sheet opened on it. He opened the lid and ran his fingers through the keys, enjoying their coldness. It was such a long ago since he touched this piano, but now it was the time.
He took a deep breath and started to play, sometimes glancing at the sheet to make sure he’s playing the right notes in the right order. He totally got into the tune, moving his body only slightly to the music as he kept going and going, until he started to reach the end. When the piece was done, he turned around and was just a tiny bit shocked by the fack that Eliott was staring at him. His eyes were beautiful, just like he remembered. His face was pale, but he still looked like a fucking model. Lucas swallowed and let a smile appear on his face.
“You know what this music is called?” he asked softly, avoiding the awkward greeting and “How are you” stuff, just straight to the point.
“No.” Eliot murmured, voice sounding still sleepy and he even rubbed his eyes, which was inface, very cute. “Could you tell me?” he asked and the softness in his voice was melting the short boy’s heart. He loved to hear Eliott talking to him like this, it was like nothing happened between them.
“It’s called I love you.” he said proudly, turning fully around on the bench now to face Eliott. His cheeks started to heat up now as he tried to continue with his plan. He hoped that he won’t get rejected. “You know why I played this piece?” he asked softly and saw the nervousness on the other’s face. He tried to keep calm and not freaking out. He have to keep going with this and pour out his heart to this wonderful person in front of him. When Eliott shook his head, he took a deep breath and looked down at his hands on his lap, then back at the tall boy. “Because I love you.” he finally said it, a soft smile crawling its way on his face. He saw that Eliott was tearing up and all he just wanted was to run over there and pull him into a tight hug.
“I love you too.” he whispered now and Lucas couldn’t believe his ears. His smile quickly turned into a happy grin, tears rolling down on his cheeks. Then in the next moment he gasped as Eliott picked him up, wrapping his arms around him tightly. He laughed a little and grabbed his shirt, pulling him even closer, burying his face into the warm chest, taking in the smell he missed so damn much.
They were standing there for long minutes just hugging each other, crying and giggling at the same time, but then Eliott pulled back, stroking Lucas’ hair softly. There was a sad smile on his face which made the short boy feel something not really good in his stomach.
“Listen, Lucas... I think this can’t work between us.” he started and the boy looked at him in disbelief.
“Excuse me?”
“I know what I just said... and what you said... but these feelings might not last forever.” he mumbled, locking his eyes at the floor. “But my bipolarity is something that is not gonna go away... it’s something you have to deal with and to be honest, I don’t want you to have to handle it.” he continued and now looked at Lucas, eyes red, ready to cry at anytime. “I want you to have a happy life, with someone who’s not gonna yell at you or ran off naked at any point. Someone you don’t have to worry about all day, someone who is able to look out for you and not needing help.” he finished now, breathing heavily through his nose, trying to read the expressions on the boy’s face. Lucas closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. A lots of emotions were running through his brain at this exact moment, but he just took a step forward, placing his hands on Eliott’s cheeks, looking straight into his eyes.
“Listen here, bad things might happen and yeah, I might get sad or angry... but you are not the only one who will yell or try to close things out. I have a lot of flaws.” he said and smiled a little. “I even punched you in the face, Eliott. And you still decided to stick with me. You have no idea how happy you made me with that.” he said softly, leaning his forehead on the other’s. “You can upset me, scare me or make me cry, I don’t give a shit. I rather feel all that, than live my life without you.”
Eliott was quiet and Lucas would give everything to know what is going on inside his head. He wanted him to feel good, to feel loved and he had no intentions to become his babysitter. Of course, he was worried, scared and wanted to protect him, but on the top of all, he just wanted to make him happy, love him unconditionally. He felt his heart skipping a beat when a soft smile appeared on Eliott’s face. His own face lit up to that and cupped the other’s cheeks softly.
“We don’t have to take big steps.” He whispered softly into the space between their lips. “We can do it day by day.” he continued and his smile grew bigger. “No, I think we should do it minute by minute.” he said now proudly and rubbed their noses together. “Minute by minute, okay?”
“Minute by minute...” Eliott softly whispered and closed his eyes, nodding his head just a little. “Okay, I can do that.” he sighed.
“You know what are we doing in the next minute?” Lucas asked, softly rubbing away a tear with his thumb that started to roll down on his boyfriend’s face. Eliott shook his head slowly and the boy leant closer. “We’re going to kiss.”
And so they did. Eliott wrapped his arms around Lucas’ waist, pulling him close as their lips met. It ws slow first, searching, like they were kissing for the first time. The short boy ran his fingers into Eliott’s wild locks, grabbing on them, making him let out a groan. He used this opportunity to deepend the kiss, sliding his tongue inside, playing with Eliott’s. Things got sloppy and wild pretty quickly, hands grabbing everywhere, teeth bashing into teeth making them laugh between kisses.
When they were out of breath, they decided to just get on the couch and rest for a little. Lucas sit at the end, so Eliott could lay down, resting his head on his lap, which was just super cute. They were like this for a while when Lucas grabbed his phone and took a picture of Eliott.
“What are you doing?” he asked, voice slightly sleepy.
“I wanna post it on instagram.” he explained with a wide smile, hoping that his boyfriend is not going to protest. And he didn’t, he just chuckled and shook his head a little, but then started to shower Lucas’ palm with kisses that was resting on his face since a while now. The short boy chuckled and enjoyed this a lot.
Tumblr media
Eliott smiled like an idiot, still laying on the couch with Lucas. He obviously unblocked the boy both on insta and in his contacts. When he saw the new post he was incredibly happy and just couldn’t stop smiling. And he thought he was the hopelessly romantic one out of the two of them. Turns out Lucas is also going for that title with much success.
“I’m staying here with you.” Lucas said suddenly, looking down at the boy, caressing his cheek softly. “I’m not going anywhere.” he smiled now and leant down to place a gentle kiss on the other’s forehead. Eliott let out a soft giggle and he reached up to touch his boyfriend’s face.
“I don’t want you to go either.” he said smiling. Lucas smirked and kissed his fingertips before reaching for his phone again. Eliott shot him a confused look. “You wanna take another picture?”
“No, I’m going to text your sister.” he smirked and opened his chat with Lucille, typing a quick message.
To Lucille Is it possible that you leave us alone for a couple days? Pretty please
From Lucille  Sure, I’ll go to a hotel. No big deal
To Lucille  Thank you so much
From Lucille  Just make him happy, that’s all that matters to me
To Lucille And to me too
Somewhere around the evening Eliott decided that he’s feeling well enough to make dinner for both of them. Lucas tried to talk him down, convince that they can also order some takeout, but he was so determined there was no point in trying to stop him. So he followed his boyfriend to the kitchen and sat up on the table, just like he always used to, so he won’t be feeling so small. He watched Eliott in his sweatpants, black shirt and hoodie preparing some vegetables, cutting some potatoes. It was endearing to see him like this, they haven’t been in this kitchen together since a long time now and Lucas missed moments like this.
It took him not more than thirty minutes to put together a nice dish with steamed chicken breast, some vegetables and mashed potatoes. Lucas’ stomach was growling just by smelling it which made his boyfriend laugh. He put the food on two plates, walking to the table and giving the short boy a kiss before he got off and sat down on one of the chairs instead. Everything was so calm and perfect, like there weren’t a week long pause in their relationship. And it was good like this, because they belonged together.
“This is really delicious.” Lucas smiled softly and stroked his boyfriend’s arm. They were sitting close enough that their knees were touching, making both of them feel safe and comfortable.
“I told you I can cook.” Eliott said proudly and grabbed the boy’s hand, placing a soft kiss on it. “I would do anything for you.”
“I would do anything for you too.” Lucas smiled softly and ran his fingers over Eliott’s soft lips. The boy smiled and grabbed his index finger with his teeth, licking the tip slowly before letting it go. The short boy felt his face heating up, but he couldn’t tear his eyes from his boyfriend.
“I love you.” Eliott whispered, pulling him closer by the waist until he was sitting on his lap. Lucas smiled happily, placing himself into a comfortable position and wrapping his arms around the other’s neck.
“I love you too.” he said happily and gave his boyfriend a soft peck on the lips, then he kissed hs jaw, his cheek, his nose. “So many things I love about you.”
“Tell me, please.” Eliott started and smiled softly at his boyfriend’s confused look. “Tell me when did you know you fell in love.” he asked, finger caressing the skinunder Lucas’ shirt. He sighed and knocked his forehead to Eliott’s, closing his eyes, trying to think about the answer. Trying to pinpoint the exact moment when he felt like “Yes, this is the one I wanna live the rest of my life with”. And he felt like he knew the answer.
“When I saw you in the common room, when we painted the wall together.” he explained and opened his eyes, smiling brightly at him. “I think that was the moment when I realized how deep my feelings were. How much I loved you.” he said, softly caressing the other’s cheeks. “And I had no doubts since then, my feelings are stronger than ever.” he finished and gave a soft kiss on his boyfriend’s lips, who was now smiling like an idiot.
“Maybe that common room is the symbol of our love then.” he said when their lips parted. “Because I fell for you when I saw you playing the piano there.” his voice was soft, like warm honey, making the short boy feel tiny butterflies in his stomach. “I had a crush on your for a while, but both because of my bipolarity and my fear of relationships, I was being mean to you...” he admitted, which actually made sense now that Lucas was thinking back to it. Sometimes Eliott was annoying or even a real asshole, other times he was flirty and soft.
“Yeah, I remember that you laughed at me in first year when I slipped on ice in the school yard and called me a “clumsy idiot”.” he said smirking and enjoyed to see his boyfriend’s face turning a little pale.
“Yeah... that was a shitty thing to say.” he admitted and looked away. Lucas chuckled and kissed his cheek a couple times to get his attention back.
“Hey, that was a long time ago, I am not gonna bring up things like that again, okay?” he whispered softly, keeping his lips close to Eliott’s as the boy turned back and looked into his eyes. “We are together now and that’s the only thing that matters.” he said with a soft, reassuring smile.
“Do you think there are a Lucas and Eliott who weren’t as dumb as we? That they maybe got together right in first year.” he asked curiously, running his fingers through the short boy’s hair. Lucas chuckled as he thought about it, he totally loved how from his silly idea, the parallel universes became their thing.
“I’m pretty sure there is a Lucas No.635 who saw his Eliott on the school halls one day and thought to himself “Woah, that is one really attractive human being.” he said smirking and kissed the other’s lips gently. “What about Eliott No.795?” Lucas asked softly, enjoying this silly talk a lot.
“Hm...” Eliott was patting his index finger to his lips as he was thinking and then smiled. “Eliott No.795 transfered to school for his third year, after some inconveniences he had in his previous school. On his first day he felt like everyone was watching him, the mysterious new guy. Then he entered the school and a group of boys passed by him, one of them bumped into him, making Eliott to turn away. Then he saw Lucas No.837 talking to his friends with so much enthusiasm that he didn’t even notice that someone bumped into him. And Eliott just watched him until he was out of sight.” he told his little story with so much confidence and fondness, that Lucas just wanted to kiss him until one of them passes out. Instead he just cupped his face, placing soft kisses all around his face, making the tall boy giggle and damn if that wasn’t the cutest thing he had ever heard.
Tumblr media
Lucas is smirking at his phone and then back at Eliott. They are now sitting in the armchair, well, the tall boy is sitting there and Lucas is on his lap, resting his head on his boyfriend’s chest. Eliott posted the picture a while ago now, but he still kept getting notifications from it. They thought it will be funny and the short boy almost melted when he saw the caption. His boy was so damn romantic and he loved it.
“So, I am the love of your life?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. They haven’t talked since an hour now, just sitting there quietly, enjoying each other’s presence. Eliott glanced at him from under his beautiful eyelashes with a cheeky smile on his face.
“Of course you are. Who else would be?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.
“I don’t know.” Lucas pretended to be dumb. “Shouldn’t it be someone you are with since years now?” he asked playfully, tracing little circles on his boyfriend’s chest over his shirt.
“I don’t have to be with him for years to know that he is the one.” Eliott replied with so much confidence it made the short boy blush. “I might even marry him at some point.” he whispered into his ear now that sent shivers down Lucas’ spine. He gasped and looked into those steel blue eyes, seeing that this time Eliott wasn’t rambling or joking.
“You think he would say yes?” he asked with a playful smirk, sliding his hand up into the tall boy’s messy hair. Eliott blinked at him surprised a couple times before he let out a soft, heartfelt laugh.
“I really hope so, otherwise I wouldn’t know what to do.” he said smiling and kissed Lucas’ forehead gently. “And I really think he would look beautiful in a white suit.” he added, hands roaming around the short boy’s waist, wandering under the soft material of his shirt. Lucas let out a soft sigh, burying his face into the crook of Eliott’s neck, taking in his smell.
It was so good to be back here, not just in this apartment, but in his boyfriend’s arms, knowing that he loves him back, that he called him the love of his life. So unreal and at the same time the most real thing he ever experienced at the same time. All the soft touches, the kind words, hearing Eliott laughing and seeing his smile made him happier than ever. After so much suffering they’ve been through together, all that time apart, agonizing days and wondering what to do, it all faded away after each kiss they shared. Lucille once told him that there will be bad days, days when they will feel like it’s never going to end, but all of it will be worth to get through when the better days follow them. And she was right. Lucas wanted to capture these happy moments and put them into a jar, saving it forever.
Long fingers dragged him out of his thoughts as they started to tickle his sides under the shirt. He tried to suppress his laugh by burying his face into Eliott’s shoulder, but as he didn’t seem to stop anytime, he just grabbed the boy’s biceps, laughing loudly and fidgeting in his lap, trying to get away from the tickling fingers. Eliott seemed to enjoy this, letting his hands run up and down on his boyfriend’s sides, then he just stopped the tickling, starting to pull up the shirt slowly. Lucas was wiping the tears away he had because of all the laughing and let out a surprised squeak as the tall boy forced him to raise his arms so he could take off the shirt and throw it on the floor.
“Much better.” he mumbled, pressing his lips on the short boy’s chest, kissing it gently. Lucas could feel his skin heat up where his mouth touched him, but also felt his cheeks burning. They haven’t done anything like this since the hotel, and he couldn’t deny the fact that his body was craving for it. To feel Eliott’s skin on his, the tender kisses and to hear his moaning.
“Eliott...” the name just came off his tongue so much more erotically than he wanted it to, but hearing the boy’s satisfied groan resonating on his chest made him excited. His long fingers were circling over the waistband of his pants, stopping over the button, while his lips wandered up through Lucas’ neck towards his ear, biting his earlobe.
“Can I?” he was basically moaning into his ear and even if he wanted to say no, which was unlikely to happen, he wouldn’t be able to. Not when his boyfriend sounded like an animal in heat.
“Yeah...” that was all he could force out, feeling a soft cloud taking over his mind, making it impossible for him to think straight. But who would want to think when there’s a hot guy trying to take off your pants?
Eliott smirked and within a few seconds, he was pulling off the short boy’s pants, throwing it to the floor next to the shirt. Now he was sitting on his lap with only his underwear on. He turned his body to be face to face with his handsome boyfriend, knees resting to the arms of the armchair. Their smirked at each other before they started to make out wildly. Hands wandering everywhere on their bodies, searching, grabbing, scratching. Lucas pulled Eliott’s hair just a little, making him groan which sent shiver through his whole body. He slid his tongue between the boy’s parted lips, inviting his to a wild and wet dance. He could feel the bulge on Eliott’s crotch growing, rubbing against his own hardness. It was almost infuriating how the boy under him was still fully dressed. So he let his arms roam on the soft, warm torso down to his waist, pulling up his shirt slowly. He could see the cocky smile on Eliott’s face as he pulled the shirt over his head and dropped it on the floor. Then they continued kissing.
After long, sweet moment of making out, they finally got to the point where even Eliott couldn’t bear that he still had his pants on, so with some struggles and Lucas’ help they got rid of it without getting up from the armchair. The short boy moaned into his boyfriend’s mouth as their crotches rubbed against each other only being separated by the thin material of their boxers. Suddenly they were both aware of what was about to happen, so Eliott looked into the boy’s eyes, hands grabbing his waist gently. Lucas felt the clouds disappear from his mind, leaving more space to his thoughts about the handsome boy in front of him.
“You sure you want this?” Eliott asked carefully, looking up and down on Lucas, while licking his lips. He was clearly ready to go further with this and the short boy smirked at that, it was good to see how much this guy wanted him. Him, out of all those people out there.
“I want you more than anything, Eliott.” he whispered, their lips just an inch away from each other. “I am all yours, my soul, my heart and my whole body.” he continued, fingers sliding up to cup the tall boy’s cheeks as he gave him a tender kiss on the lips. “You have to deal with the consequences.” he finished smirking, biting Eliott’s bottom lip playfully.
“Fuck, Lucas...” he groaned and his hands slid down, grabbing the boy’s butt wildly. He let out a soft whimper, but was still smiling happily. “I will never let you go.” he whispered into his mouth before kissing him with such passion that Lucas felt like he sucked out all the oxygen from his lungs. He wrapped his arms around Eliott’s neck, ready to continue this to the very end.
Tumblr media
Lucas was laying in bed, smirking at his phone. He only got out of bed to check out on Eliott and he happened to take a paparazzi photo of him while he was shaving. He had to post it out, because it was just a cute moment and of course he had to show off his boyfriend. Now he could understand why was the tall boy so obsessed with posting about them on insta, it was addictive.
Now his boyfriend was back in bed with him, resting his head on Lucas’ shoulder as he checked his phone. He laughed at the instagram post, looking up at his soft boy, kissing his jawline a few times before he started typing a comment. Lucas rolled his eyes when he saw it and playfully bit Eliott’s nose, who let out a surprised squeak. That was so cute.
“So, you’re stalking me in the bathroom now?” he asked, squinting his eyes a little. Lucas smiled and played with his hair now, eyes locked on his boyfriend’s face.
“Yeah, I guess you had no idea what you have to deal with when you agreed on being with me.” he winked at him smirking.
“That is my line.” he said pouting, like actually pouting. The audacity this damn boy has, Lucas couldn’t believe it, so instead he just leant down, locking their lips together in a soft, loving kiss. He could get used to being like this forever, staying in bed with Eliott, kissing, complimenting each other.
Okay, guys! I think this could be the end, BUT if you all want one more chapter of domestic Elu content with some sweet insta posts, let me know and I will start writing it. Also hit me up with AU ideas if you feel like it. I have one in mind, but I still need to work on the details and I might get inspiration from all of you! Also make sure to give me your opinions on this chapter. I LOVED to write it and I LOVE all of your from the bottom of my heart

Birthday Blunder ~ Sonamy
A/N -
Thank you too @lorrynha for requesting this one! I really hope you like it!!
Sonic cant decide on a present for Amy, but then finds the perfect gift.
Boom!Sonamy Fluff.
Sonic had been racking his brain, he had been trying to come up with the perfect gift for his pink team mate’s birthday. He wanted to get her something special, something heartfelt. He’d thought of things like a new tea set or new knitting needles, but they felt too mundane they weren’t special enough, plus she already had all of those things.
Eventually worst came to worst, he decided to visit the library. He was sat on a table with book upon book pilled around him, some on archaeology, some on how to buy gifts for women, others on how to make the perfect craft baskets. He was looking for something, anything, but nothing was jumping out at him. Sighing loudly he decided to look around the library again, there had to be a book with something in it. He strolled down the aisles of books until he came across s book entitled Floriculture, which seemed to draw his attention. He opened the book and began flipping through the pages, it seemed to be a book on flowers. He stopped when a pink flower caught his eye, it was beautiful, and it was perfect.
Unfortunately for Sonic it’s an extremely rare flower and only grows in one place a little ways out of the village, which meant he’d have to sneak away to retrieve it. Easier said than done when you live in a small village where everyone knows what you are doing and when you are doing it.
“Sonic? You’re…you’re in the library?” A voice sounded behind him, making him drop the book in his hand.
He scrambled to pick up the book, “Amy! Uh yeah, just…uh…reading.”
“Ok…good! What are you reading? Do you want some suggestions? Oh Sonic this is so exciting!” Amy said with the smile on her face getting wider and wider with every word.
Two hours later and Sonic was leaving the library with a stack of books, and an extremely excited Amy by his side.
“I’ve got to go, I promised Sticks we’d go to the spa, but let me know which book you start with!” Amy said before walking away and giving Sonic a happy wave goodbye.
“Yeah…I’ll do that.” Sonic groaned.
He made his way home, dumping the books on the table, he dug through the piles and found the one book he actually wanted. He flipped to the page and read it over.
“This flower represents strength, beauty and tenderness of heart. It grows in the wild, and is rather rare, but incredibly beautiful.” He couldn’t believe his luck, it really was the perfect gift.
Now he had to come up with a way of getting it without causing a scene. The next day rolled around and he’d met up with the team for a relaxing day at the beach.
“I was thinking we should take a trip.” Sonic said aloud while the team built sandcastles.
“A trip to where?” Tails asked as he placed a flag upon one of the turrets.
“I thought maybe hiking, we don’t appreciate nature enough…” Sonic replied as he smoothed over some sand.
“That’s a great idea! We could have a picnic!” Amy said sounding excited.
“Yeah! And I can show you had to catch a fish with your bare hands!” Sticks said mimicking strangling a fish.
“Nature? Since when have you…” Tails said giving Sonic a perplexed look.
“Always buddy, you know me...” Sonic snapped back.
“Right…” Tails said looking over too an equally confused Knuckles.
“So when do you wanna go?” Knuckles asked the blue hedgehog.
“Tomorrow sound good?” Sonic said tapping his chin as if he was thinking it over.
“That sounds great!” Sticks said happily.
Sonic knew Tails didn’t believe him, and that Knuckles was sceptical of him too, so he made the decision to talk to them about his plan. As the girls continued to build, he pulled them aside told them his plan.
“D’aww Sonic, you looove her!” Knuckles teased.
“Shut up!” Sonic said grinding his teeth angrily.
“I think Amy’s, gonna love it Sonic!” Tails said patting his buddy’s shoulder.
They continued with their day enjoying each other’s company. Each of them looking forward to the trip. They bid one another farewell and went home to rest up for tomorrow’s adventure. They decided to leave early in the morning.
Amy’s alarm went off but she stopped it before the second beep. She’d been up for hours, packing the essentials, and to make the perfect picnic for the team. She raced outside, she didn’t care if she was the first to meet at the rendezvous point, and she couldn’t wait.
To Amy’s surprise Tails was already waiting there, caring an oversized rucksack that looked far too heavy for him.
“Hi Tails!” Amy said as she approached him.
He looked up and smiled at her. “Hey Amy, I see you’re early too!”
“Yep, I can’t wait to see nature in all its glory. There are so many flowers that I’ve always wanted to see, but never had an excuse to go and actually see them.” She said a smile breaking across her face.
They continued talking until the other’s arrived, and once they were all together they began their journey. As they walked they saw huge trees, streams, beautiful flowers, wildlife, it was everything they’d hoped for. Unfortunately for Sonic, everything except the one thing this whole expedition had been for.
“Why don’t we stop here and have the picnic?” Amy said setting the basket down.
They were atop a hill covered in grass and flowers. It looked down over a stunning view of green trees swaying ever so gently in the soft summer breeze.
“Yeah, then I can keep an eye on any incoming intruders!” Sticks said looking around franticly.
They lay the blanket down and Amy set out the food. They ate it happily enjoying all of Amy’s amazing culinary skills. After finishing, they decided to play a game of Frisbee. The game went smoothly until the Frisbee went into some bushes. Knuckles volunteered to get it, but while he was retrieving the small disc, he spotted a flower, it was beautiful, and then he remembered Sonic description of the flower he wanted for Amy.
“Sonic! I found that flower you wanted!” He shouted as he ran back to the group.
Sonic couldn’t believe Knuckles sometimes. He wanted the floor to swallow him whole. “O…oh” Was all he could say.
The group stared at Sonic, but before anyone could speak Knuckles grabbed Sonic tugging him towards the plant, with the others following behind them.
“See!” Knuckles said pointing at it proudly.
“Wait, that’s that rare flower, from the time of the ancients!” Sticks said as she looked at the pink flower. “Why do you want it?” She said looking at Sonic.
“I…I…I…well I was gonna give it to Amy…for her birthday.” Sonic said hanging his head in defeat.
He was so embarrassed he was practically as pink as Amy by now, and wanted to run so badly, but he stood his ground.
“Guy’s let give them some space.” Tails said walking back up to the picnic blanket.
The others nodded and followed the yellow fox.
Amy stood awkwardly rubbing her arm. She knew the flower, she knew its meaning. She suddenly remembered the library incident, she had thought it strange seeing Sonic in the library let alone him taking out a book that seemed to be on flowers. Which meant he’d found the flower in the book, meaning he must have known what the flower meant. He’d put so much thought into the present, she was so overwhelmed. Sonic finally looked up at Amy, she was crying, but smiling the biggest smile he’d ever seen.
“H..happy Birthday.” He stuttered.
She walked over to him and grabbed his scarf and pulling him in to a kiss. It was a bit wet due to Amy’s tears but Sonic didn’t care. They pulled apart and smiled at one another happily. Sonic brushed a tear from Amy’s cheek.
“I love you, you idiot.” She said as she giggled softy.
“I…well…you know.” He said smirking.
“Yeah, I do.” She said taking his hand and pulling him back to the picnic.
A/N -
I really hope you guys liked this. I’m Sorry that this one took a little longer, I’ve been super busy for the last couple of days.
Sorry about my spelling dyslexia is meann.
(@@lorrynha  Request)
Sonic had no idea what to give Amy. While making some research looking for a perfect present, he found out that there was some beautiful rare flowers that just grows in a hill/mountain/forest a little far from the village. These flowers were a symbol of tenderness, beauty and strength for past Indians tribes that used to live there. "That fits perfectly on Amy!", thought Sonic. He was determined to get some of those flowers to her. But he wanted to keep it a secret,  and even with his speed, Amy would totally notice he was gone, and Sonic didn't want to let her suspicious... The next day, Sonic talks with your folks about taking a break of the village, "maybe travelling for that hill/mountain/forest" he says. The girls get extremely excited, but the boys get a little suspicious since Sonic isn't that into nature. Sonic tells them what his real intentions are. Knuckles slips "Hey, isn't those the flowers you we're looking for?", and Sticks, who knows a lot about ancients cultures and nature asks innocently "those flowers were a symbol of tenderness, beauty and strength for past Indians tribes that used to live here, why would Sonic want those?" finishing to screw Sonic's entire plan up…
