━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You’re a vampire who loves the party animal life style. You prefer being surrounded by your people who are vampires and love getting drunk even though it takes a while to get a vampire actually drunk on human alcohol and such. But tonight you are drunk off your rockets you won’t lie. You must’ve been so drunk because that night you decided to make the biggest mistake of your life.
Your paths were met with a certain someone you shouldn’t of have relations with anyways. They were new in town and you remember your family in the coven gossiping about how this town suddenly had a bunch of werewolves migrating from Seoul. And now they are here in your town living on with their life. This town mostly has humans living here so that’s why everyone who is a supernatural creature, they have a human disguise on.
For you it’s a spell protected ring that makes you able to go outside in the sun however it does go off roughly around two months. You gotta go back and get your ring renewed by the local witch who owns a shop after on.
The scent of something fuzzy and a mixture of alcohol mixing in with the natural scent of a werewolf makes anyone’s skin crawl creepily because your high sense of smell made it difficult to ignore him. You couldn’t believe a werewolf was drinking at your bar and at first it annoyed you to the bones until that same Werewolf walked to you with a smug expression pushing a large beer bottle to you and lifting his beer bottle.
You couldn’t explain it but it looked like he wanted to drink with you. As if he knew you were bothered by his presence being here and he decided to annoy you with it by drinking with you. You drunkenly glare pushing the bottle in your hand. It’s free alcohol you can’t reject that though.
“What are you doing here?” You ask the man. Doyoung laughs heartily as you came straight to the point. “Can’t you tell I’m having a drink with a beautiful lady?”
‘Ugh his flirting won’t on me.’ You prayed to yourself as you side stepped away from Doyoung leaving him and going to sit somewhere far. But when you left Doyoung just moved to sit next to you staring you down from the sideline.
You grumble. “You do realise that i am stronger than you during nighttime? I don’t think it’s a good idea to be picking a fight with me.”
Doyoung innocently stares as he sips calmly the bottle of beer in his hand shrugging. “I’m not picking a fight I’m having a conversation with you.”
“Is there a difference?” You blurt out.
Doyoung crowds over you. “There is. I’m being civil and you’re being prejudice.” He wasn’t wrong you had to admit. You were prejudice. You didn’t even know him yet and you only hate him because of his species — but you can’t blame yourself. Your family grew up this way and now they raised you that way too.
You look away sighing. “You’re lucky I’m feeling nice tonight.”
Doyoung smirks knowing he has lowered down your walls just a little now. It seems like you were now more comfortable to speak to him again. “I thought vampires couldn’t get drunk.” He’d question and you murmur taking a large sip of the beer bottle.
“They can if they drink to a point where it was excessive.”
The man questions in reality how much you drank then. Vampire bodies are basically rock stone so to have you this drunk it meant you must’ve been over that limit a long time ago. He saw you turn around suddenly watching him, your corpse like complexion which was so pale was growing a pink flush around the cheeks and Doyoung smiles seeing you squint your eyes forward to look at his face.
You really were so drunk. You couldn’t even see properly bless you he thought. Doyoung puts his hands on the desk where the bottle was put there and he looks back at you. “You’re…! I’m seeing two of you. Do you have twins?” You blabber and Doyoung laughs at how gone you are. “My lord you’re so drunk. What’s even your name?”
“Your mother.” You spat out and Doyoung rolls his eyes sighing. “Very funny. Come on i’ll take you home.” He was lifting you from your seat where he puts your arms around him and then starts walking you out of the bar. You were such a hard person to export to place to place because you kept wiggling and shaking in the hold. It’s as if you were more stubborn when drunk than you’re sober.
Doyoung hissed as you nearly hit him in the face with your hands moving everywhere. “Can you fucking stay still i’m trying to seatbelt you.” He snapped and somehow you could feel a little anger boiling inside him; you freeze and stay in the car seat like a cold statue and the final seatbelt was clicked in. He closed the door and comes through the driver seat sitting down.
You turn to him slowly and Doyoung glances at you. “Sorry I snapped.” He clears his throat as he drives away from the bar. You couldn’t believe your vampire ears for a whole ass minute because he apologised to you and you never thought werewolves could have the ability to be nice afterwards?
Might be the alcohol you thought because when a soft expression came on right after the angry one you found him sort of ethereal and beautiful. You look out the window drunkenly slurring. Why did you find his face attractive now? And why did you somehow like when he was ordering you, that you can’t answer.
“Where are we going?” You asked in a drunken manner and Doyoung slowly replied. “Will you tell me where you live?”
“God no. My parents can’t see me this drunk they would end me.” You lean in your seat getting comfortable.
Doyoung sighs. “Okay my house it is.”
As the car drive continues on you would see an incoming family house that looked slightly modern you weren’t sure why you were expecting a bloody cave. God you really need to stop judging werewolves. The driver left once the car was parked and went through opening your door unlocking the belt and then grabbing your arm putting it around his neck and having your supported body to carry up front to the door. It opens wide and you were welcomed into his home. A werewolf home and if your parents knew they would’ve known you to be a disgrace. But something about Doyoung made you stay and feel comfortable.
He wasn’t so bad. He actually helped you. No vampire has ever helped you before, but a freaking werewolf did.
Doyoung made sure you laid down on the bed inside his bedroom. You were fully clothed and looked to be so out of this world he still can’t believe you got this drunk at a bar, you clearly did not worry something would happen to you. Looking down at your shoes he took them off and puts them down somewhere in his room where you can see them later on. The clock on his bed stand table said it was too late and you couldn’t help but sit up holding Doyoung’s wrist from letting him leave.
“Where have you kidnapped me to?” You side shot and Doyoung looks down at you. “My bedroom.”
Your face went kinda warm thinking about this. This was his bedroom and you could find his scent everywhere it was almost infatuating. Doyoung rose his eyebrows at you pointing down at your hand holding his wrist. “You can let go off me now.” He’d say but you squint your eyes at him. “You’re not going to leave me here right?”
The man trails in confusion. “I’m taking the couch downstairs. I have to leave you here.” You huff. “You don’t even know my name though why are you treating me so nicely!”
Doyoung felt you pull him on the bed suddenly and he flinched by how your strength really was overpowering. The only time he was this close to a vampire was now. The vampires don’t let werewolves near them and they don’t get approached by Doyoung’s people because of this. They were stronger when it wasn’t the full moon. Until the full moon the werewolves become stronger than them.
You could feel a ball of air hitching in his throat when your face came closer to his even though you were drunk you could sense how nervous he was suddenly having you come so close to him. He whispers looking down at you. “You didn’t tell me your name. But that doesn’t mean i can leave you alone when you’re vulnerable.” It was kindness that made its way to your heart and you felt your body go warm because of how radiant he was.
You murmur staring down at his lips. There was something in your eyes that was speaking to him a foreign language. “Its Y/n. My name is Y/n.” You’d add softly and Doyoung swallows harshly.
“Kim Doyoung…” he slowly relies back but it seems like your eyes were both on each others lips. The sudden urge to lean in was a given.
“Do I make you wanna kiss me?” Doyoung quietly looked at you and you felt your eyes waver down capturing a soft peck on his lips. ‘ yes you do.’ You thought deeply. He slowly returned it back and it was a soft moment shared that would soon go from zero to a hundred. You laid back pulling Doyoung’s body on top of you while the kiss continued.
You wanted to say yes to everything knowing this was so wrong on many levels and if people found out about this it would be the ethereal cost of you both. But your heart was beating so fast you couldn’t understand why. Your hands were fiddling in your clothes as you were undressing each other so hungrily. A flash of yellow in his eyes made you think how much control he was losing.
And something about that control going haywire made you wonder how far you could push a werewolves buttons in bed. Your breathes gasping together as your lips break apart a long string of saliva connects the both of you.
“Is that all you can do? Already out of breathe Doyoung?” You playfully add with a smirk forming on your face seeing how Doyoung was flustered but the man below you fell into a stern expression where his hand captures your throat pushing you down on the bed and his voice going shades darker.
“The only one out of breathe will be yourself, Darling.” You couldn’t help it but he sent you multiple shivers down your smile as he licks your neck and sends those wet kisses you felt his teeth scraping on it and your legs straddling his waist as he pushed you down on the erected cock unclothed through your panties. You wince as if you can’t believe he was this big.
There was a hidden truth to his words. Everyone knows the rumours of werewolves being the best in bed and somehow you found yourself believing this now that you’re in that perfect situation of becoming someone’s fucked out doll. Doyoung was a complete unknown beast in bed you couldn’t believe it; he had you doing a whole workout. He was pushing into you so deep the minute his cock entered your wet pussy he went into a frenzy mode.
It’s like he had no physical restraint and when his glowing yellow eyes were pointed to yours that were crying pure tears by how good it felt folded by a werewolf to completely tame you, you found yourself loving the high too much. Your arms were on top of him scraping the skin with your claws that made him hiss in an irony of painful love. ‘Who would’ve thought he was a masochist..’ you smirked at the expression he gave and move your lips to his neck licking it down a spot.
His hips were straining you down with each pounding moment where your skin claps against each other you could feel your moans becoming more and more prominent. It was getting harder to control it down and at this point you pray his neighbours don’t question you and whatever you’re blabbering. “For someone who hates werewolves you love getting dick down by one don’t you?” There was hints of multiple trading you close your eyes unable to answer. Doyoung however loved seeing you go quiet and he whispers into your ear. “You love being stretched out by the biggest cock you’ve ever seen don’t you? You love having your stupid cunt filled.”
You whimper when his hands go back to choke you a little as you nod helplessly. “You already know the answer so why are you asking me?” Your voice was striking him so softly at the same time your body was so submissive but your personality was not and that’s another thing that Doyoung found attractive. You weren’t afraid to say what you want and you were stubborn as a mule.
“Because I like to see you break down while you admit it that you don’t hate werewolves.” Doyoung was your karma to say the least. He loved testing your ability to stay calm and now you can’t. You moan when his hands squeeze tighter again. He growls. “Admit it Y/n. You love getting fucked by a werewolf don’t you? You like how i stretch your small hole out and now I’m going to fill you up so much you won’t have any space in your womb.”
God you wanted to say no to all of these and say you don’t like anything how that sounded but you would be lying because all of the above you prayed it happens and your body was screaming for his release to come and give it to you. You loved the idea in truth and you loved how good it feels you were chasing your highs and he was chasing it too. You squeeze him whimpering.
Doyoung mockingly laughs. “Whimpering already? God you’re driving me fucking nuts.” He adds with a rough groan stuttering the hips down at you. The arms beneath you belong to him lift you up so he could hit another angle that made it straight to the k.o as he released deep within you. You weren’t aware you could have such a big orgasm before but you did and he made you come so many times.
“Take it all Y/n. Take it all.” He chants.
You couldn’t count how many exactly but it was too many. When Doyoung had finished inside you he stayed in your body for a while staring down at you as his yellow glowing eyes were all you could stare into as if you were hypnotised. You loved how bright and beautiful they actually were and your trembling hands hold his face.
He could tell how shaky your palms were by how they held his skin and he felt like you were made up of porcelain by your skin rattling like an earthquake. He drifts his face down as his eyes widen a little.
“You’re shaking so much, Y/n. ” He was suddenly worried. You can’t believe how he can switch so fast his personalities.
You murmur out in a daze. “Your neck looks so soft…” you whisper and your eyes were glowing a bright red. Doyoung couldn’t even resist to push you away when your fangs reappeared and bite down into the neck. He didn’t want to back away either.
He wanted you to drink him dry until your needs were satisfied. How would’ve thought you were going to bite him. Doyoung however grew a liking to the painful factor to this and he wanted you to bite every part of him and drink him out till he was nothing.
That night you wasn’t sure how many rounds you went through. But it certainly wasn’t one round. It was multiple rounds.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The very next morning you woke up in many different positions. You couldn’t believe what happened until you saw your naked body in the long standing mirror placed in the corner of the bedroom. You saw so many hickeys marking your body. Your body looked like it’s been through war and hell back on earth. Your clothes were on the floor so you quickly changed back into them.
You couldn’t see Doyoung in bed so he must’ve been awake already. You find your sunlight protection ring and put it on. Your body comes out of the bedroom going down the stairs slowly but you happen to run into three men rounding the kitchen.
You pause as Doyoung’s eyes caught you and they approach you quickly as he shown you a little smile. “Hey you’re leaving already?” You stand there shocked. Doyoung seems like he didn’t want to leave. You slant on the stairway looking away.
“I thought you would want me to leave. Y’know…” you pause but Doyoung held your hand shaking his head. “Look i don’t want you to leave just like that.” You couldn’t help but find kind comfort in his words. Doyoung was surprisingly kind and supportive of you and you can’t help but fall for it just a little.
He dragged you to the kitchen and you were met with two other than sitting down eating breakfast. There was a muscular man sitting on the left eating from the plate while there was a cuter and softer male with features waving at you. You did a small wave back and turn to Doyoung shyly.
You were surrounded by a bunch of werewolves now. You felt sort of out of place and scared now. Doyoung however, made sure his presence was comforting you because his hand fell on your waist holding it softly. You look up at the man who gives you a small reassuring nod.
“Hello.” You say quietly to the men dining. Doyoung comes forward clearing his throat. “These two are my roommates. Y/n meet Jaehyun and Jungwoo.”
Jungwoo smirks applauding. “Nice to meet you y/n.” The other man, Jaehyun, trails softly. “It’s nice to finally meet the voice we kept hearing all night.”
Doyoung glares but his face went equally red and so did yours as you side glance away to avoid meeting their eyes. Great they definitely heard you both. No doubt.
“Ignore Jaehyun.” Doyoung murmurs as he sat you down and you were facing them. The boys were eating away as you watch. You were unbelievably tense but somehow Doyoung held on making you go calm again when he held your hand.
“Uhm so. Y/n. What year were you born in?” Jungwoo trails making a conversation. You look back at the boy answering back. “I am a 94’ liner.”
The three of them choke on their food midway as they heard you could see them catch their breathe. Jaehyun was trying not to smile as he saw Doyoung’s ears going bright red. Jungwoo brushed the back of his neck softly.
“You’re older than us.” He stated now this time more formally. You smirk eyeing them down. “You can speak comfortably with me.”
“Can i call you Y/n still?” Jungwoo adds and i shake it off. “Yeah that’s fine.”
Doyoung looks up at you. He couldn’t believe you’re older than him but you look so young. He wonders if you’re beautiful or magically gorgeous. You only woke up and you look perfect. He loved the way your fangs poke out everytime you speak. They were small and cute when they weren’t growing out.
“So what years were you born in then?”
Doyoung look away murmuring to your question. “I am 96. Jaehyun is 97 and Jungwoo is 98.”
It seems like the baby was Jungwoo. You could kind of see it with the way how extroverted he was speaking meanwhile Jaehyun and Doyoung were slightly more quiet than the other boy. It seems like their friendship was close however like they could read each others mind. That must be a Wolf thing.
After they finished breakfast and chatting with you Doyoung decided to walk you out as you said you would have to go now. Doyoung didn’t want to let you go but he didn’t have much choice but to do that. You look down at your feet as he escorts you out and you murmur softly.
“It was nice chatting to you in the morning.” You add because you felt like you made some friends along the way.
Doyoung smiles nodding. “They seem fond of you. Especially Jungwoo.”
You wanted to say it’s a bad idea getting close to someone like you and that it wouldn’t end well but you can’t bring yourself to say it to Doyoung. Somehow you wanted to continue knowing him and his friends. You suddenly hold his hand and Doyoung faces you hearing you whisper.
“I don’t want to… forget you.”
You paused as you spoke these words out watching how his expression softens and it were no longer a questioning sad one. It did him great happiness to hear you were feeling the same way as he was. Doyoung’s fingers slowly slip into your hand intertwining them so your hands were fitting together and he came close suddenly.
You didn’t run away and when the man came close he gave you a small peck on your lips. The urge to just grab and make out with him for two hours straight was there but you bury it deep down and slant back as he gave you a soft loving kiss. It was different from last time. It felt like a goodbye kiss almost but until next time they meet again.
“You know where to find me if you ever want to see me again.” Doyoung tells you, slowly pulling away from your body.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The next few days you were on probation by your parents who were worried for you day and night. You couldn’t help but wish they were a little more lenient on you. They aren’t aware of what you got up to but they certainly could tell you weren’t home for a whole day which worried them. It’s ridiculous because you’re an adult but these people can never rest. They know how you are actually. You tend to get up to trouble wherever you go and they weren’t wrong.
You did get up to trouble. With a freaking werewolf that you can’t wait to see again.
‘I definitely got attached to him.’ You said to yourself as if this was a reason for you to relax and just let it happen. You didn’t hate him anymore however if anything you had some sort of weird feeling for him.
Doyoung took care of you. He even loved you for a whole night with many rounds to come. He introduced you to his friends who were not judgemental of your face. The only one that was still as hesitant was you. You were worried what your parents and your people would paint you as.
On your way you met your friend Taeyong. Lee Taeyong is a new vampire who was bitten by Taeil. You can see how that ended up now Taeil has to teach the boy to live as a vampire without getting caught.
Moon Taeil is your longest friend from childhood. You guys are the same age and you happen to know everything about each other — but this time you weren’t sure if he wants to know this piece of information.
“You slept with a werewolf?!” The two boys sang in unison as you were sitting down in their house sipping water from a straw.
Taeil looks away as he laughs in disbelief. You? With a werewolf? You hate werewolves last time he checked. He comes forward suddenly checking your wrists and sleeves.
You raise your eyebrows. “What are you doing?” You question your best friend who looks down at you. “I’m checking for a werewolf bite. What if he marked you? God you’re doomed.” He shakes his head at you coming to be so clueless.
“He didn’t bite me.” You’d reassure the two vampires in front of you. You murmur remembering the night again. “I bit him though.”
Taeil sat down crumbling as you kept giving the details from your night you spend with Doyoung. It seems it was getting worse and worse in his imagination.
“You drank from a werewolf. That’s fantastic Y/n! You fell for your one night stand.” He spat.
You flinch as you huddle on the couch sighing. “I shouldn’t of but he really isn’t as bad as the vampires claim they are. He took care of me Taeil. He even gave me a goodbye kiss.”
“I give you a goodbye kiss all the fucking time Y/n you can’t be seriously hurt that you aren’t seeing him anymore.” Taeil thrown at you.
You shake your head laying down on the couch holding your hands together. The ceiling was your form of entertainment as Taeil and Taeyong were wondering what’s happening with you.
“Did you at least do it safely?” Taeil would ask you.
A guilty smile came on your face as if you obviously weren’t being safe in the bedroom and Taeil sat back down yelling into his hands as if you were helpless and you were just a kid who knows nothing.
“Y/n you could get pregnant you know?” He spat and you somehow felt unbothered. You shrugged. “I didn’t know it was possible to intersect with werewolves.”
Taeil gasps. “Of course there are! Why do you think they don’t mix for a reason?”
Taeyong silently sips the blood from the hospital bloodbag and you roll off the couch sighing. “It’s fine trust me. I’m not going to get pregnant alright? It was only an one night stand.” Unfortunately.
Taeil side glares. “You want to meet him again don’t you?”
You smirk. “Heck yeah i do.”
“My god you are so delulu.” He stops. “For a werewolf Y/n. A werewolf Y/n. A species that could kill you.” He adds describing it. But even so you weren’t afraid of Doyoung.
You begin walking out the door. Taeil behind you shouts wondering where the heck you’re leaving while he was still talking to you.
“WHERE ARE YOU GOING Y/N? I WAS SPEAKING TO YOU.”
“I am going to a bar! God you’re sounding like my bloody father now.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You murmur at the bar all alone sipping a shot of soju. “Stupid Taeil telling me what to do and not do… man he’s such a freaking Wikipedia…” you shake your thoughts away as your best friend was done lecturing you about how to do safe sex and what not.
You couldn’t believe him. He wasn’t even a medical student and he goes all father on you.
The bar was playing little songs in the background that were tapping your fingers on the wooden bar counterpart. You sway a little enjoying the peaceful atmosphere until a sudden man leans forward taking a seat next to you.
When you were going to turn around it certainly felt like a deja vu moment you wanted to replay again.
“Doyoun—“
You pause as you realise it wasn’t Doyoung. It was just another human bothering you once again. You scowl at the man feeling disgusted he was drunk and smelled full of previous drugs. You couldn’t deal with the heinous smell so you turn around about to walk away.
“Were you expecting someone else love?” The man echos behind you.
You scowl. “Yes. Get lost I’m not interested.” You slant away leaving walking far away from that side and as you walk away you took sips of the brand new whiskey glass humming.
As you walk away a hand turned you around and you sighed swung yourself to shout at the man that was probably following you. “Look here mister I’m not fucking interested—“ but as you did your mouth fell apart and your voice was no longer there. You turned into a silent voice that couldn’t be traced nor heard because the person standing in front of you was a young man that you met the previous starry night you wish to forever remember. It was like a memory engraved in your brain you couldn’t forget and you don’t want to. You loved that night so much you felt your dead corpse heart beating so much you felt alive and without him you felt like a cold slum of death.
Doyoung smirks down at you. “I promise you will be interested soon.” He adds after your words and you felt going embarrassed you really thought you were followed by that human after all.
You slide back. “It wasn’t directed to you. Forget I said anything.” You’d shake your head. Doyoung looks down grabbing your glass of whiskey taking the last slip of the burning alcohol down his throat. You blink as he drank from the same glass and you touched your lips a little wondering.
He did indirect kiss me right now. You clear your unholy thoughts god you must be so tense and awkward right now with him it’s unbelievable.
“Hm you’re awfully quiet today. What happened to you Y/n? You’re not telling me to get lost like you did the night before. No werewolf prejudice today?” He said smirking while watching you and you felt your eyebrows lower down as you frown at him. He was teasing you.
You knew he was messing with you but you felt awfully embarrassed by it and even then you didn’t know what to say and reply back. “Shut up. Did you need anything Doyoung or are you here to rub it on my face?”
He grins. “Rub what on your face darling?”
You’d go silent. ‘That you slept with me and now I’m the one chasing you.’ You thought deeply. You want to kiss him so badly he looked so kissable right now. You want to let him know how bad you want him and even now him standing here you could take him on. You didn’t care if anyone else saw you.
You want people to know you are his and he’s yours. You don’t want this to be a secret one night stand. You want more. And here you are doing the thing you fear the most.
You’re here wanting to kiss a werewolf.
“Forget it.” You whisper into the air as your back turned around to Doyoung but as you did he turned you back around and quickly pinned you against the nearest wall as he was looking down at you knowing exactly what you wanted it he wouldn’t give it to you easily unless he heard it from you.
He wants to hear you. He wants you to give yourself to him and then he could do the same. But you’re stubborn and you’re conflicted still. He was only waiting for you.
“Doyoung what are you doing?” You flinch in panic when he came forward to close the gap between your faces.
He stares into your beautiful siren-like eyes that he swore were magically making him feel all sorts of emotions from you. “I want to look at your face.”
It was such a normal sentence that made you feel so many abnormal things deep inside your stomach. Your throat swallows harshly as he could see your neck move with each saliva you took back.
His eyes move up to your face again. “Do I make you wanna kiss me?”
Your hands wrap round his neck like a collar wanting to bring him forward to you. You ache out speaking so desperately as you close your eyes. “Yes so bad, Doyoung, so bad it hurts.”
He’s making you want to kiss him there and then but he was only waiting for your green light and then he could go and go kiss you as hard as you ever wish. He only needs your green light to give him the signal.
And when he did his lips did not waste a single time to take a taste of your cherry red lips feeling so good like he were flying off the ground with you. Matching your slow sensual speed and holding you tighter like he wanted to all this time you were in each others dreams just like this; he loved to see your voice go dimmer and your moans escaping occasionally with it and how badly he loved your lips on his. Doyoung could fall deeper and you fell deeper with him. All your brain thought line a religious mantra was: your lips, your lips on repeat.
In between the kisses you slip in with Doyoung you hear him whisper hovering your mouth. Even then your kisses did not stop like it was impossible to. “Do you want me to become yours, Y/n?” It was a clear answer as you achingly add. “Yes Doyoung. I don’t care what anyone says about us.” Pulling him into a passionate celebratory kiss.
It all took one KISS for you and Doyoung to release your feelings into the wide open reality. Like a forbidden spell taking over you.

For the mini-fics: "dream" (Four Swords, any AU, maybe some Red/Blue if you feel like it? Only if you feel like it though, I do remember you mentioning it wasn't one of your ships, and I'm happy to read any interaction between the two <3)
It... it wasn't one of my ships. And then your writing, and then this, and uh. Anyway, I guess this is some kind of tragic fairytale AU. (it isn't long!)
---
"I don't like this," Blue muttered, shadowing Red as they stalked through the castle halls. His heels clicked on the polished floors, and glints of armor and a crown kept catching Red's eye in the mirrors.
"I, Red, the prince and heir of Hyrule, do solemnly invoke the sacred Wall of Thorns."
Red tried to ignore the warm presence at his shoulder. This was not the time or place for dreams, especially silly dreams like taking Blue's hand, or leaning against Blue's chest, or dragging him into one of the closets they passed and—
Army, approaching. Danger, imminent. Blue, bodyguard, not boyfriend. Not now, not ever. They'd run out of time. It hurt.
"This castle and all therin will be protected from harm by the Thorns of Nayru, caught in time just as their prince."
"Nobody likes it, Blue," Red answered. He hoped his voice didn't shake, or that Blue would take it to be fear of the coming storm rather than anything else. They slowed in front of the large door just ahead, decorated with wrought iron in the shape of thorny rosevines.
"I don't want to let you go through with this."
"But you will, because there's no other way. You agreed about that." Red unlocked the door, and Blue helped him to push it open. It felt heavy, in more than one way. His steps slowed as he approached the raised dais in the center of the dim, circular room.
"The land will be blessed and forgotten by all but its inhabitants until I may take possession of the throne once again."
It wasn't strictly tall enough for him to need help, but Red held his hand out anyway. "Help me up?"
Blue's hand was warm under the soft leather of the glove. After Red stepped up, Blue followed, and Red had to actively avoid his eyes, or he'd get lost. They didn't have the time to waste.
Red sat on the richly appointed bed and looked at his hand, still clutched in Blue's. "You don't have to be here right now."
"You're not going to keep me away."
"I know." He'd been so sure that he'd have time with Blue someday. But Blue couldn't be… he couldn't lift the spell of he was trapped inside it with the rest of the castle. With the rest of the kingdom.
"The spell will lift only when one who can be considered a soulmate bestows upon me true love's first kiss."
Red picked up the small book on the night table and lit the candle, all with one hand.
"This spell is irrevocable, impenetrable, and absolutely binding."
He'd been so sure. He started reading the spell's activation, even as hoofbeats sounded in the windows.
---
If I wrote out this whole thing, there would be a loophole or something where Blue doesn't actually fall asleep but ends up being captured by the enemy and has to fight his way out—or maybe Green and Vio show up and one of them could be considered a platonic soulmate—or magic blips and just Blue wakes up, minutes at a time every few years, watching the world out the windows change, battling with his feelings and taking a long time to get over himself. There are a lot of options!

CLJ Recaps
PSDs in this post brought to you by @xiaolanhua! Thank you!
A lot of really emotional things happen really quickly in this ep.
DFQC!Orchid bites Changheng's hand when he reaches out and then tries to force Orchid!DFQC to kiss to switch back. She makes him promise not to hurt Changheng, or she'll kill herself and trap him in her body forever.
And while all this is going down, Xunfeng is revealed as the front man to the coolest metal act in Cangyan Sea.
Tumblr media
Back in the forest, DFQC uses Orchid's face to ask Changheng the question that separates a hero from a villain:
Tumblr media
This entire time the Moon Supreme had no idea why Orchid would want to go back to a place where she was ridiculed and overlooked. And now Changheng can't even promise that he'd protect her from Yunzhong. Even the real Orchid is saddened to hear Changheng's silence.
Changheng will always put his duty above his feelings. That's all the answer DFQC needs. In her hopelessness, Orchid accidentally makes a sound and reveals her hiding spot to CH. Before he can reveal her, Rong Hao appears and blocks CH. He smiles gently down at Orchid in DFQC's body, showing her that he's already aware of the switch.
Meanwhile, XF has stormed Silent Moon Palace and his killing everyone in his path. I actually really liked this scene, because you get to see 1) Xunfeng's power and 2) how his fighting style differs from his brother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orchid tells CH that there's no way for him to lift the curse and says that he should leave. CH refuses to give up and comes up with a different plan: extract Orchid's soul and use self-renewing soil to create a new body for her.
But before Rong Hao can deliver the killing blow, Orchid intervenes kisses DFQC, making them switch back. It's amazing how with a few expression & mannerism changes from their actors, I fully believe that these are two different characters!
DFQC is ready to show Orchid that he's willing to destroy those who don't value her, but she reminds him of his promise not to harm CH. His hellfire subsides, but he's not done rubbing salt in CH's wounds yet! He grabs Orchid and kisses her in front of Changheng. Obviously CH is pissed but before he can do anything rash in his state, Rong Hao teleports them away.
Orchid is angry at the forced kiss and runs off. DFQC has bigger things to worry about than following her: such as Xunfeng's coup. He confronts his brother in the throne room and XF can immediately tell from bearing & expression alone that this is actually DFQC.
Tumblr media
As a person with brothers, I can confirm that this is possible! Growing up with someone means you also pick up on their mannerisms. Someone once told me that my younger brother and I sound exactly the same, despite the fact that I'm afab.
The music in this scene is exquisite. DFQC's steps match the beat and the choir kicks in as XF flies down to attack.
Tumblr media
I'm personally a huge fan of when DFQC's lightning eyes activate! It was also really sexy of him to stop XF in midair and then chokes him. I'm so sorry Xunfeng....
Ronghao manages to get CH back to Shuiyuntian. Unfortunately, no one can know that he disobeyed orders and went to Cangyan Sea. The only option is for Ronghao to give up some of his life. Danyin offered herself, but Ronghao says that she doesn't have enough power. It has to be him. He's willing to sacrifice for CH. As he shares cultivation with CH, Ronghao's hair begins to turn white.
Tumblr media
Unless there's a spell to disguise that, I don't think his Lord of Haishi City mask is gonna work anymore! Anyway, I love a man desperate to undo something that was his own fault to begin with!
Here's the golden brown gown with some important questions:
Tumblr media
It's funny how flippant he was about Xunfeng wanting to kill him. If you don't have siblings, wanting to kill them is normal even if you're not the leader of a country with super powerful magic!
DFQC astutely comments that if Ronghao wanted dominion over the Moon Tribe, he could've done it at any time while DFQC was locked way. All this talk of usurping has the Moon Supreme curious and he asks Shangque why he didn't kill his master.
Tumblr media
DFQC realizes that Orchid was right about SQ and about him not understanding human emotions.
And finally!!! We get to see my Die Yi! Like Shanque, she is loyal and probably at least a little bit in love with Ronghao. She's distraught seeing him weakened.
Tumblr media
She tells Ronghao that she wants him to regain his cultivation, but he says that even if she used up her entire life, it wouldn't work.
Die Yi demands to know why she can't use her life for Ronghao when he used his cultivation for Changheng. This literally sounds like a lover's quarrel. "Do you love him more than me?!" Yes. The only person alive Ronghao cares about other than himself is Changheng.
Tumblr media
And yet despite showing his weakness to Die Yi, Ronghao refuses to admit that he saved Changheng out of love. "I know you're not heartless!" WELL MAYBE HE WISHES HE WAS! Let him have this villainous moment even if no one is fooled.
Tumblr media
Die Yi collects herself to report on Silent Moon Palace. She asks if they should kill Xunfeng, but Ronghao is convinced that DFQC will do it for them. After all, he killed his own father. What's a brother to him? UNFORTUNATELY you miscalculated! DFQC has Orchid with him and while you're settling into your villain arc, Moon Supreme is s l o w l y entering his redemption arc :)
Changheng is awake now and determined to leave, but is stopped by a summons from his brother. Yunzhong has found him out and questions Changheng. Fortunately, Danyin & Ronghao are there to intercede and say that he was merely eager to kill the enemy. CH grudgingly says they're right and YZ seals his power and puts him back under house arrest.
Speaking of house arrest, it seems like Orchid is back in her gilded cage again. Though this time SQ is watching her to report back to DFQC. I absolutely love the image of him in the golden robes, reading in front of the fire. It gives off such a soft and domestic feel, which is new!
While he's wondering why he acted the way he did when the Jade Ring should be suppressing Orchid's emotions, SQ enters.
Tumblr media
DFQC notices something strange in Shangque's report: he's started calling her by a more respectful title. It's translated as Fairy Orchid, which doesn't feel right but I don't know Chinese and thus am not sure what he's actually calling her.
Tumblr media
Apparently, the servants also respect Orchid and even say that she saved DFQC. And she did! Just not from Xunfeng. The palace maids want to throw a banquet for her, but aren't sure that DFQC will allow it. He lifts her house arrest and says Orchid is allowed to go wherever she wants within his realm. No one is allowed to stop her, be rude to her, or hurt her. Otherwise - you guessed it! - he will kill them :)
SQ thinks that Orchid choosing to save DFQC shows how loyal she is, but DFQC seems to be a bit riled up before that conclusion. What did you think he was gonna say, buddy? ;) He gives leave for the palace maids to throw the banquet but says that a gathering of women is inappropriate for him to attend.
BUT THEN HE GOES AND SPIES ANYWAY! Interestingly, the maids are calling Orchid elegant and pretty even though when she was first brought back, the courtesans said she was rather plain. DFQC creates a breeze to rustle the petals off the trees, knowing that this would make Orchid happy.
And here is where I died: he removes his ring.
Tumblr media
You know, the thing that he was so desperate to get before because it isolates the mind and helps him deal with the Heart Curse? THAT ring. He then closes his eyes and basks in Orchid's joy.
If he's already addicted to joy, imagine what he'll be like when he falls for real damn!!

~*~
The door to your cell gets wrenched open, pulling you from your light sleep.
“You!” Rumlow snarls, grabbing you by the throat and lifting you to your feet.
“Where have they taken my prisoners?” You furrow your brows, yanking out of his grip.
“How am I supposed to know? I was left behind.” He grinds his teeth together and grabs your bicep, dragging you out of your cell and onto the main deck.
The clouds are dark and gloomy, the waters wild and violent, but not by your doing.
“You must’ve helped them, that other witch too! So tell me, how did you do it?” He shoves you and you gasp, tumbling onto the wet wood of the deck.
“How could I have helped them? You have me chained up like a dog!” You spit, glaring up at him. He stoops down to your level, grabbing your face harshly.
“You will watch your tongue or you will lose it. You do not need your voice to do my bidding.” He shoves you back down and you bite back a yelp of pain.
The sky darkens further, thunder booming and clouds rolling in.
“I will never do your bidding!” You snarl, a flash of lightning punctuating your words.
Rumlow’s eyes widen for a moment, and then he’s got his sword pointed at you, the tip just brushing your throat.
“On your feet, witch!” You obey, standing up with your chin held high.
“You will do my bidding, or you will join all those who you have sent to the depths. It is your choice.” You follow his gaze over your shoulder to where the plank is being extended over the raging ocean.
You look back at him, jaw set, and he knows you’ve made your decision.
The wind whips around your hair as he walks you to the plank, his sword digging into your back just hard enough to cause discomfort, but not pain, not yet.
You carefully step onto the plank, taking deep breaths of the salty air as the water rages beneath you.
“I will give you one last chance, wench. I will spare your life, all you need do is swear your powers to me. You’ll have the sea back in your grasp, the power to do what you please. You need only do so at my side.”
Raindrops splatter against your face, just gently at first, until you’re consumed in an intense storm, the water pelting down against you.
“You’ve forgotten, Captain, that you are not sending me to the depths,” you look over your shoulder at him with a small smile, “you are sending me home.”
You look down at the water, preparing yourself for the cool embrace, when a particularly harsh wave rocks against the ship, sending you stumbling back a step.
A wave rises up over the ship, a spiral of green swirling inside of it and for a moment you think that you’ve already died.
The wave crashes against the ship, sending the men falling and scrambling, submerging the deck for a moment.
But you stay rooted in place, the familiar green hue just touching your fingertips, the ends of your hair, then slowly becoming part of you once more.
You hear the men shouting and coughing, feel Rumlow’s sword pressed against your back once again, but you only turn around to face him.
The storm continues, the waves fighting the ship, and you cock your head to the side, sending a gust of wind towards the man threatening you. He stumbles back, eyes wide with fear.
“H-how do you...” You take slow steps towards him, waving your hand behind you as his crew-mates try to run at you. The wind pushes them back, keeping them a safe distance from you and the captain.
“You will give me answers and you will give them to me now!” You hiss, glaring daggers at him.
“Whatever it is that you wish to know, I will tell you. Just please, spare my life.”
You watch him for a long moment, fighting tears as the question bubbles out of you.
“Why? Why did he do it?”
Rumlow only shakes his head, on his knees and ready to beg for mercy.
“’twas me... I caused him to do it. With the help of a siren for the price of his left arm, I got the binding spell from him. He knew not what he was doing, though he gave the information.” You let out a shaky breath, a weight lifted off of your shoulders.
“All this time I had thought it was he who betrayed me... but it wasn’t.” You turn your gaze to him, eyes glowing green with the influx of power.
“It was you. You and your greed.” He shakes his head and scrambles back desperately.
You step aside as a sword comes down right where you were standing, and Rumlow uses your momentary distraction to sprint away.
“Kill her! Kill the Witch!” He shouts, grabbing his own sword.
You shake your head, the wind whipping strong enough to keep them away.
A nagging in your mind stops you for a moment, and a smile tugs at the corner of your lips.
“The King and his men stole the queen from her bed... and bound her in her bones.” Your voice travels on the wind.
“The seas be ours, and by the powers, where we will, we’ll roam.”
“Captain! We’ve got a ship coming up starboard!” A man shouts, pointing his sword at the familiar ship.
“They’re upon us! Battle stations!” The men scramble to their stations, trying to get prepared as the ship approaches.
“Yo ho, all hands, hoist the colours high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die.” The voices ring out to you clear as day, responding to the call.
It’s only a matter of moments before canons start firing and men start boarding the ship, swords clashing and guns firing.
Your eyes scan the crowd, freezing on a man approaching you. You simply look at him and he crumples to the ground, grabbing at his throat.
“Rumlow!” You shout, following your instincts up to the foredeck and finding the captain cowering, exactly how you thought he would.
“You want to throw me overboard, captain?” You sneer his title, taking another step towards him. He stumbles back, slipping on the wet wood and scrambling away from you and towards the main deck.
“You forget that I am the sea and all things in it.”
The rain pelts down on you and the wind whips your hair around your face wildly, your eyes glowing green with the force of your power.
At that moment, you look every bit the sea goddess that the stories described. And today, you’re planning on being just as cruel.
“You stripped me of my purpose, my power. Bound me to my form and took away my reason for existence! You sacrificed the man I love for your own greedy gain. What do you have to say for yourself?” Your powers protect you from the fighting around you, the man before you protected as well.
No one will take your vengeance from you.
“I’m sorry!” He cries, slipping back further.
You shake your head and grab him by the front of his tunic, tossing his sword aside and glaring into his eyes.
“No, you’re not. Not yet. But you will be, that I promise you.”
You cock your head to the side, your free hand coming up, fingers flexed.
The water on the deck swirls around your ankles, clawing up the man before you.
“You’ve never had your purpose taken from you because a man like you has no purpose.” You twist your wrist, controlling the water around you and watch in satisfaction as his eyes widen, the water rising up over his face.
“So what else can I take, but your life?” You ask rhetorically, watching as the water trickles into his mouth and nose, slowly at first, then picking up speed.
He tries to claw at you, but his hands can’t reach you. His struggles are futile, though that doesn’t stop him.
You steal the life away from him, exactly the way he did to you.
He collapses on the ground, his body convulsing for a moment before falling still, death embracing him.
You take a deep breath, embracing your freedom, then slowly turn around.
You’re instantly meet with piercing blue eyes staring at you from across the ship. His chest is heaving and he’s squinting through the downpour, but his eyes are on you.
You walk over to him, the rain lessening with each step you take until you’re right in front of him.
The wind dies down and the ocean becomes calm. The fighting around you draws to a sombre end, victory on the tip of your tongue.
His sword clatters to the ground, his hands finding yours ever so gently, his eyes filled with so many emotions.
“Gentlemen, the ship is ours!” Steve shouts, a smile on his face. You turn around, pulling Bucky’s arms around your waist as you watch the crew celebrate their success.
Your eyes find Wanda’s and Tony’s through the crowd, both of them smiling brightly up at you.
The two crews celebrate, Pirates and Kingsmen, and you can’t help but smile at them.
“Back to the ship! We’ve gotten what we came for. The King can enjoy plundering Rumlow’s ship. I trust that will keep him off of our back for a while, yes?” Steve looks at Tony pointedly and the brunet nods.
You step out of your lover’s arms and walk down to the two men, one hand gently finding Tony’s forearm.
“I owe you a debt, Tony. One I fear I may never be able to repay.” He shakes his head, taking your hands gently in his and smiling at you.
“You’ve no debt to be paid. But if you feel so inclined, could you maybe hold back any storms for the next day or so? I’d like a chance to dry my clothes.” You giggle and nod, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Thank you, for all that you’ve done for myself and Wanda.” He gives you a tender smile and nods.
“It’s what I wish had been done for my mother.” He sniffles then straightens up.
“Now come on, men. It’s time we return to the King!” His crew-mates start busying themselves quickly.
“Alright lads, back to the ship!” Steve calls, leading his own crew members to their ship.
You watch as everyone eagerly crosses, smiling encouragingly at Wanda. She crosses swiftly, her eyes drawing to the helmsman for a moment.
“Are you ready?” A soft voice asks from behind you. You take a breath then nod, looking over at him.
“Yes.”
The two of you cross back to his ship, the ship almost cooing at you as soon as your feet hit the deck. You can’t fight the smile the spreads on your face at being back, and you don’t try to.
“It’s good to have you back,” Steve says, giving you a nod. You do the same, sighing happily.
“It’s good to be back, Steve.” Bucky takes your hand then and tugs you gently towards his quarters.
The door closes softly behind you and you take a moment to reacquaint yourself with the room.
You can feel his eyes on you, the tension palpable but not unpleasant.
Without looking at him, you speak.
“Could you help me out of my gown? It’s far too heavy.” He walks towards you, untying the back and watching as the fabric slides down your body, leaving you only in your white slip.
His hands hesitantly trail over your skin, one cold and one hot and the contrast is so delicious.
You close your eyes and lean into his touch, head falling to the side as he presses soft kisses to your neck.
“You have no idea how much I’ve missed you, my love,” he whispers against your skin, spinning you around to face him.
You gaze up at him lovingly, one hand coming up to cup his jaw.
“Show me,” you whisper, leaning up to gently brush your lips over his.
“Show me how much you missed me. Give me a reason to clear the skies and calm the seas. Make me give us good wind and easy sail. Prove to me that you’re still worthy of my mercy.”
He brings your hand to his mouth, kissing each one of your fingers then smiling.
“I’ll never truly be worthy of your mercy. But I am more than willing to both swear and prove my loyalty to you. I will give myself over to you; body, heart, mind, and soul.”
You look up at him tenderly, cupping his cheek gently.
“I will sail to the ends of the Earth for you, fight the gods if I need to. Anything to keep you in my arms.”
“My heart belongs to you, James. And never will it belong to anyone else.”

diving stars | hior
male bog mummy x male reader 3754 words citrus | mild description of death, minor mention of blood, mild description of mummy having stitches (though not getting them), kissing, implied future relationship test match-up: Waaaayyyy back when, I decided I should try my hand at some match-ups. I wanted a unique experience for those coming to me for commissions, and so went through several versions of a 'choose your own adventure' kind of personality questionnaire. Matt, or @severedreamerbeard, was one of the people lovely enough to let me test out my match-up process! Thank you a whole gosh darn bunch Matt, for letting me do so in the first place, and I'm going to heap on extra thanks because I've been such a snail about it! <3
————- 🌠 ————-
Much of the bog is a terrible endless black, with nothing to reflect but the cloud covered nighttime sky. Scrubby, dried grass circles the edges of the water, the torchlight making their flickering shadows look like creeping, growing thorns across the opaque surface, ready to snag the unwary and drag them down into the depths. There’ll be no coming back out of that dark water, Hior knows, not once he’s been pushed in.
I’ll close my eyes before I go under, he silently promises, though either way he supposes it shouldn’t matter much. The last thing his body sees will only ever be darkness. He swallows, tucks auburn hair behind his ears, calloused fingers catching at his skin, and pastes on a grim smile, turning to face the gathered people. He can’t linger any longer, no matter how much he would like to, not if he wants the rest of the village to make it through this. Not many of them have gathered, either. Just enough to see the ritual through to the end. Honestly, it’s better this way. If his brother had been allowed to leave the defenses, then Hagan would have interrupted Mother Gree, ritual or not. He would have tried to stop her, tried to stop Hior, even if it meant the loss of the village.
Hagan will be angry.
Hior sweeps his eyes over the surrounding villagers, their frightened faces and trembling hands, their teary eyes reflecting the torches in the misty dark. Hagan will be angry, but the fact of the matter is that he will still be alive to hold onto that anger. Hior can’t find it within himself to regret that.
There’s no time for being maudlin, Hior tells himself, and his smile becomes a bit too wide, stretching painfully at the corners.
This will be the last he ever sees of the village if the Gods deem his offering worthy, but that’s alright. Really. As long as he knows the village will be protected, as long as he knows that his people will do their best to endure, he's willing to fight his way through the Beyond and stay there.
Mother Gree begins to speak in a rough, ragged voice, worn through by years of pipe smoke and leaning over heavily herbed fires. Her words—the spell, the prayer—drape themselves around Hior’s shoulders like a heavy blanket, sweeping away the tension of his worries and the fear of the crowded villagers. Hior’s smile softens.
Mother Gree’s only warning is the icy grasp of her fingers, twisting sharply into the hair at the nape of Hior’s neck. The blade pinches. Wet heat spills down his throat and over his chest, soaking his clothes as he begins to fall backward.
Overhead, the clouds part, and a fierce rumbling fills the air, punctuated by sharp screams. A star, smaller than a pebble, but more brilliant by far than any flickering fire, falls out of the sky. It dives after Hior’s falling body, following him down into the depths of the bog.
The last thing Hior sees is light.
————- 🌠 ————-
It’s midday, or just after, and there are odd shapes in the clouds, like reaching hands backlit by the sunshine. The shifting shades of them make it look like they’re trying very hard to break through the atmosphere, a primordial being grabbing for mortals like marbles. The wind picks up, and the flicker of pale warmth and the cloud hands are blown swiftly away, hidden by a tumult of grey and violet. It shouldn’t rain for hours yet, it’s not supposed to, but you’re starting to doubt the truth of the weather forecast. The sky is very clearly telling all watchers that a storm is on the way.
And here you are: distractedly doing your best to carefully skirt the edges of dreary, muddied water, hunting for a folktale. There are weak spots throughout the area, and one wrong step will have the ground turning to mush underfoot. Which, while fitting with the tales, is the last thing you’d ever want. Risk of drowning aside, all the local stories claim that it's your soul you really need to worry about, or you'll be trapped for eternity as 'a ghost given solid form'.
In other words, from what you’ve pieced together, that might mean something like a zombie?
Water sloshes, lapping strangely at the grassy shore and pulling you clean away from your thoughts. You know you shouldn't linger with the storm on the way, but something about the water keeps you from getting more than a few paces past. The noise, rising steadily, almost bubbling, draws you closer even as tension weighs down your steps. Whatever might be down there, you doubt it's anything pleasant, and you’ve had stories of zombies running through your head all afternoon. You edge closer anyway.
The shore grows terribly soft underfoot the closer you get, and it looks like something is struggling just under the surface, wriggling, a bit like—the water fountains. It soaks your shoe and the hem of your pant leg, while icy droplets speckle over your shirt and face. For a moment, a breath, your eyes fall closed as you attempt to wipe the water away. Something smooth and cold grabs hold of your ankle, yanking your foot forward so you slam back into the ground, a quick burst of pain flares in the back of your skull. Fingernails dig into your skin. You can’t remember shouting, can’t remember a loud noise, but your ears are ringing, adrenaline rocketing through your veins as the hand—the literal hand—heaves with all it’s might, pulling you towards the water. You scrabble backwards, you kick, trying to get free, but the arm tenses, fingers curling tighter around your ankle, heavier than iron. You haven’t gotten loose, but you’re starting to pull whatever is in the water out as you struggle.
The water burbles and the haze of panic begins to clear. This isn’t a story. Someone has just grabbed hold of you. They’re not trying to pull you in, they just want you to pull them out. Because they’re trapped. You suck down air, scrabbling at the hand wrapped around your ankle, trying to get them to grab hold of your wrist instead. Their skin is strange under your touch, hard and smooth and fragile, like flowers dipped in paraffin.
A head finally crests the water, a choking, wheezing noise filling the air as liquid cascades off of his body. His breath sounds wrong though, and his cheeks are hollowed, hair and skin stained with peat. He releases the death grip he has on your ankle, bony, wet fingers smacking against your arm so you can grab hold and pull. His other hand twists into the scrubby grass, ripping handfuls of it free as he does his best to work with your desperate bid to get him out of the bog. And then a few startling things happen all at once.
Your eyes drop to his throat and the wide, old injury spanning the entirety of his throat, stitched shut with a pale cord. His eyes snap open. An eerie light gleams in his eye sockets and you do shout this time, words tripping over themselves as you give up on holding him to try and yank yourself out of his grasp. Lightning quick flashes of the zombie stories and a variety of undead flicker through your mind. He’s too strong for you, you can't push him off, even with the wasted-looking muscles of his arms. He holds on terribly tight, knees and calves and feet splashing in the water and sliding through the slick scrub grass. You continue to try to get his hands off of you, breath coming far too fast, but he lets go as soon as he’s clear of the water. His hands fall away, clutching at your thigh for balance before he finally removes his hands from you entirely. He drops to the grass, retching, and then grabs at his own throat. The tie keeping his hair back crumbles, falling away like drying clay, and though most of his hair is still slick and dark with peat, it looks like it’s normally a bright coppery red underneath the muck.
He wheezes again, hands hovering over the injury, fingers feather soft over the strangely clean stitches. After a moment, he lifts his chin, spotlight eyes roving over your face with awe.
"..you..you answered?" He asks, voice warped by withered musculature. His stained cheeks stretch, a painfully tight smile exposing teeth that don't look altogether human. They're even, and clean, but they gleam with a deep blue patina, as if they’re actually polished stones. “I—I must conf-fess,” he rasps, hands falling to his knees, nails digging into the tattered trousers barely clinging to his body, “I doubted. I..” He leans forward, gasping once more as he stares at the ground. “He answered,” he whispers, and his eyelashes flutter, the light of his eyes flickering. Despite his apparent frailness, despite his inattention, you can't bring yourself to run away now. You’re caught, the desire for knowledge outweighing the potential danger. “What would you ask of me?” He breathes, and your heart twists painfully in your chest. He sounds wretched, reverent and fearful, both, anxiously waiting for you to strike out.
"What would I ask?" You struggle to murmur, tongue thick and too-dry in your mouth. Slowly, you get up, rubbing awkwardly at your wrist and forearm. His grip had been a shade past 'uncomfortably tight', but you don’t think you’ll get anything more than faint bruising.
"In exchange," the man says, clutching tighter to his knees. He doesn't notice when you flinch, not with his head still bowed.
Your heartbeat nearly drowns out the distant thunder, adrenaline chasing the wariness out of your veins. "For what?" You demand, pleased when his head jerks up. He's acting like you're going to kick him back into the bog with a boot to his chest. "For saving you? Why would I want anything? I was just-" Your mouth snaps shut, brain desperately clamoring for you to acknowledge that there's a mummified man currently speaking to you. He’s talking, not groaning, not calling out for brains or blood or violence. He may as well be straight from the local legends and he’s… Fully conscious of his actions, nothing like the eerie embellishments all the tales carry.
"I was being decent. Helping. I didn't do it so you would owe me." Any further words slip your mind as soon as your eyes catch on the stitches in his neck again. The rest of him is withered and warped by the peat in the bog, permanently stained—but the stitches are still silvery pale. What on earth happened to make him this way?
Hesitant, he raises his head, the inhuman brightness of his eyes more than enough to make you wince. Your gaze darts to the soft glint of metal in his earlobes, trying to keep from squinting.
"For… For saving my village," he finally clarifies. "You accepted my sacrifice and allowed me the chance to speak, but surely I must complete some task to prove my faith? To win a boon and guarantee their survival?"
Thunder rattles your bones and the mummy tenses, looking past you to the sky. Nerves or not, you can’t stay out here in this, not if you want to escape the weather… Or the panic that will spread like wildfire if anyone happens to catch sight of him. You offer him your hand.
"You'll help me?" He asks, hand lifting from his knee, but not yet reaching for yours. Mist dots his cheeks, rain trying desperately to break free of the heavy cloud cover.
"Help? Yes. In the way you’re asking me to?” You can’t stop yourself from cringing, but that doesn’t seem to have deterred the bog mummy still kneeling in front of you. He’s still staring with rapt attention, caught on every word you speak. “I—I don't know if I have any answer you want, but I do know we shouldn’t stay out here in the rain." You take a single step closer, fingers splaying as you reach for him. He slips his hand into yours and the rain falls heavy upon your heads.
————- 🌠 ————-
From what you’ve gathered from Hior on the trip back here, he has for all intents and purposes, traveled through time, via his death. You freeze in the doorway of the kitchen, mind whirling as you attempt to puzzle out whether he can eat or drink anything. He hasn’t needed to, not while he’s been in his enchanted… sleep down in the bog. But he’s actually dead, isn’t he? You hadn’t felt a pulse when he’d taken your hand, but you hadn’t been searching for one either, keen as you were on getting him out of the torrential rain and out of sight. He hasn’t asked for any food or drink, but your brain has seized onto hospitality like a lifeline. No matter what age Hior is from, sharing what you have is always appreciated.
Decision made, you fetch the glass, ears straining for any noise, for any hint of where he is in the house. He’s done nothing but stare at modernized gadgetry since you brought him in, taking the towel you’d offered as if he were in a dream, but he’s bound to get curious eventually. You move a little faster, though when you find him back in the living room, sitting straight backed on the edge of the couch, dampened towel around his shoulders, you feel rather silly. He just crawled out of a bog, knowing that he’d given his life for his village. Maybe he’s frightened? This can’t be like any afterlife he’d expected. “Would you like some water?” You ask, still unsure as to whether he can actually drink it or not. He’d been gasping for air when he’d broken free of the bog, but that might only be reflex, seeing as he is very much mummified.
Hior clambers to his feet, lamplight eyes skittering over your face and then down to the floor before he kneels, towel flaring out like a cloak. You pause where you are, fingers tightening around the glass in your hand, but your brain doesn’t catch up to what he’s trying to do until he speaks. “I must thank you for your hospitality. Truly. To be welcomed into the home of a God-”
You nearly spill the water, breath caught fast in your throat as you hurriedly urge him to get back to his feet, fingers brushing over his shoulder. “Ah, no, not—how about some water first?” Hior rises, the fine hairs of his eyebrows catching the light as he furrows them. They’re the same coppery red as the hair on his head and arms, and even on his legs when you take the time to glance down. “Here,” you mutter, slipping the glass into his hand as soon as his fingers uncurl. “If you don’t want it, or, or you can’t, then it’s fine. But, uh, I’m not a deity. Not a God. Just a man.” Like you, weighs down the tip of your tongue, but you clamp your jaws shut. You can’t honestly claim similarity, seeing as you still have blood flowing through your veins and your neck doesn’t have eerily clean stitches from ear to ear.
"A man," he repeats, but he doesn't sound like he believes you, "of course." Hior sniffs at the water, but he must not need it. He cradles the glass against his chest, water untouched and risks another sly glance at your face, waiting, as if he expects you to change your mind and confess to a different identity. Your brain buzzes, skipping over the hint he’s attempting to fish for.
“Those… It looks like that was a bad injury,” you murmur, gesturing to the neat stitches, a permanent, unsettling necklace. It doesn’t really help change the subject.
“Hmm,” he rumbles, reaching up a single hand. For a moment, he marvels at the sight of his own skin, turning his wrist this way and that before he finally ghosts his touch over the stitches. Hior doesn’t shy away from them, or even appear concerned, fingertip dipping between each rib of cord. “I’ve little idea how I came to possess these,” he confesses. “It wasn’t you?” You grimace, and Hior croaks out a laugh when he notices. Warmth blossoms in your chest, the sound of a real, genuine laugh soothing away some of your nerves. “No. I can see that now. And it wasn’t Mother Gree either,” he says softly, eyes lowering. “No one would have taken me from the water. The… the star?”
“Star?” The God you think I am? You want to ask, but the stiffness is easing from his limbs, memory returning, and you don’t want to interrupt. Frankly, you might be a little shell shocked yourself, but something about his question makes your brows furrow.
“It followed me into the water,” Hior adds, and your heart skips a beat, your own memories a cacophony in the back of your head. You’ve read something about that before, you’re certain of it.
“The star followed you?” You ask, clarifying. “Dove after you?”
For the first time, Hior isn’t staring past you or searching your face for any hint of divinity. A wry smile twists his lips, exposing the polished stones serving as his teeth. “From what I recall, yes. Of course, I was dying at the time,” he says quietly, humor in the arch of his eyebrows. “Perhaps I could not comprehend the visage of our Gods? They often take other shapes, so as not to cause alarm. Such as that of a man,” he says. He’s hinting again, gaze heavy on your face, but all you can think about is the phrase: the star followed me into the water, on repeat.
You lick your lips, darting past Hior for the stacks of books you’d left out this morning. “The Diving Stars,” you explain, pushing two volumes to the side and letting them fall to the floor with a clatter. You seize the elderly green book, whirling so you can brandish it in Hior’s direction. The title glitters, faintly golden but worn away by the passing years. “It’s a folktale, a legend, about… About you, I think.”
————- 🌠 ————-
Hior never does drink the water. He sets it aside, fingertips lingering along the rim before you settle down on the floor, book laid open across your knees. He joins you, and as respectful as Hior has been up to this point, he sits close against your side, pressed against you from shoulder to hip so he can better see the pages. It’s intimate, and strange, and he’s… He’s not cold, not exactly, but the lack of human warmth is enough to have the fine hairs along your neck prickling with awareness. It only takes a moment before his attention drifts from the book to your face, staring at your mouth as you read the short tale aloud.
The Diving Stars
For the greater good of a war torn village, a sacrifice was made. A favored son was chosen, one beloved by the village, and kind to all he knew. He was strong, and clever, and though he was leaving behind his family, he knew he must act for the well being of all. When it came time for his sacrifice, he smiled and walked willingly to his ending, hoping that the Gods would accept his service and defend the village from invaders.
A God took notice.
You do your best not to lift your eyes from the text, heat spreading over the back of your neck when you realize how hard Hior is staring at you. You might keep trying to ignore his assumptions, but Hior isn’t going to let you forget about them completely. He still fully believes that you’re the deity from his tale.
Moved by his plight and coveting the favored son’s courage for his own hall, the God left his domain. He dove from the sky as a star, following the favored son into the depths and setting the entire blog ablaze with his magic. When the light faded, when the villagers uncovered their eyes, two men stood by the side of the water, the light of the stars in their eyes. One was the favored son, strange and withered, having sacrificed his vitality to the Gods. The other was the God who had accepted his bargain, and behind them, marching up out of the water, was a brigade of the village ancestors, led back from the underworld to help defend the home of their children.
When the battle was won, and the ancestors had marched back into the water, the favored son wished his people farewell. Lit up from within, the favored son and the God slipped back into the depths, and then two brilliant lights fountained up out of the water, diving back into the sky as stars.
When you lift your gaze away from the book, Hior’s eyes are still on you. They’ve grown even brighter than before, the shine of them sharp enough to make you wince. His hands, resting gently on his knees, are steadily curling into fists, and he’s smiling. Small and sweet and absolutely enchanted. “I knew it,” he whispers, voice tight and low, and then Hior yanks you by the neck of your shirt halfway into his lap, knocking the book completely out of your hands. He kisses you, in want or in gratitude, you’re not sure, the taste of rainwater and the chill of stone heavy on his lips. It’s… It’s not unpleasant at all, the kiss. His lips are smooth, and cool, and tingling, like the sharpness of static in the air, seeping through your skin and racing through your veins. When Hior finally allows you to wrench yourself away, lungs heaving as you attempt to remember how to breathe, all you can think about is the way he’s smiling, arousal pooling heavily in every limb.
“No matter what you might believe,” you mutter, trying to keep your thoughts in order, “I’m not a God. Not of any sort, Hior. I swear I’m not lying.” You lick your lips, the taste of rainwater still lingering on your skin. “Though, even if I don’t know how to help you yet?” You take his hand off of your arm, lacing your fingers with his. “We’re bound to find out together.”

More Time & Time Again/ OoT Timeloop. (I think this is just a multichapter fic now) Link is helping his younger self out when the boy asks about his own adventure. Link recalls how he failed to change the future. (Tw for death mentions/implied death, fire/destruction, injury and angst.)
Time & Time Again & Part 2
Ao3
-
"How do you know all this?" The Kid asked, holding the Megaton Hammer uncertainly.
Link just smiled, "I went on a journey like yours a while ago....In retrospect, the hammer wasn't too hard to use compared to this one sword that was like, twice my height at the time."
The Kid glanced at Navi with wide, excited eyes. She frowned, "No."
"If I found a sword that big though-"
"Stick to the hammer right now," Navi sighed, giving Link a side eye.
He restrained a chuckle and leaned over to his younger self. In a low whisper he said "I'll give you a tip to getting a sword from Biggeron when she isn't watching."
The Kid pumped a fist and Navi zipped over to gently bop Link's head. "Don't give him ideas."
Link laughed, "I'm not! The idea is all his!"
Navi glared. Probably internally cursing the technicalities of them being the same person.
"Actually though, can you tell me about your adventure?" The Kid asked, tilting his head.
Link frowned. (He was small again, placing the Master Sword back in it’s pedestal. His legs still felt shaky from finally, finally having defeated Ganon.) "Maybe later. ...Besides, you still need to practice with that hammer. You do not want to pull a muscle using that thing... Trust me."
The Kid hummed, and shifted back into a readied stance with the hammer. He grinned "If I win will you tell me?"
"Who said anything about winning? It's practice, not a game."
"Sounds like you're scared you'll loseee, Grasshopper."
Link's eyes narrowed and he grinned, "Oh its on Shrimp."
"Wha- We're the same height!"
-
Link could’ve sworn he’d rigged this game so he wouldn’t lose. Link guesses he’s always had a habit of succeeding despite all logical odds out of sheer determination. He also blames the fact that Navi was helping Little Link and that was just unfair. He sighed as he stared up at his younger self’s near manic grin, laying on the ground.
“Story time!” the Kid said, putting the hammer down and holding out a hand to help him up.
Link accepted the boy-teen’s hand, defeated. He walked over to a nearby crate and hopped up to sit on the edge. The Kid followed and plopped himself in the grass, watching attentively.
He couldn’t tell the Kid his actual story, so he’d have to make up something. He hummed, “...Where should I start?”
“The beginning?” The Kid offered, laughing.
The beginning of his real story was complicated. Was it when the Great Deku Tree sent Navi to him? Or, with that adventure a closed book, was it when he returned to his time, to grow up as he was supposed to?
“Right... Well, when I was younger, I knew a princess in Termina... She saw that an evil man... uh, her uncle, would be king soon and no one believed her... She had asked me to help her.”
-
He skidded to a halt as he spotted the King and...Ganondorf. His heart pounded in his chest as he stared at the Greudo King. Images of his beastly transformation overlapped with the man currently in front of him.
Link dashed forward, past the guards and into the castle itself. He heaved his breaths as he took the most obvious path to the main hall. He didn't even stop to admire the original architecture of the building that would be transformed into Ganon's Castle.
"Who let this boy in?" The King asked, gesturing at him. "This is a private meeting."
Link swallowed, "Where’s Zelda?"
"Are you one of her playmates? Are you lost?"
He shook his head. He stared at the man, balling his hands into the skirt of his tunic.
"He appears overwhelmed," Ganondorf said, oddly soft, "Let him gather his thoughts."
-
Link shrunk away from Ganondorf’s full attention. He partly expected Navi to start speaking for him... The silence of her absence echoed like the quiet before Ganon burst from the rubble of the castle. His heart began a drum beat of “Danger, danger, danger,” in his ears.
He ran. Link ran past the crackle of fire echoing in his mind and behind his eyelids. The distressed shrieks from Zelda, unable to help, ringing in his ears.
“I stood in front of the current King, with evidence of the man’s plans in hand, and explained what I knew...” Link said, wishing that had been true.
“What? Already? You didn’t even get the big sword yet!”
“Oh, but you see...The King didn’t believe me. Put under a curse by the evil man. He was merely a puppet... But the evil man wanted more than the throne.”
-
He took in panting breaths as he stood in front of Zelda. The royal garden a soft earthy type of quiet. The twitter of birds promising calm. He closed his eyes briefly.
"Link? You're back already?"
He nodded and gasped for breath, "Ganondorf... is going to... get into the Sacred Realm."
Zelda's eyes widened, "Are you sure.... Oh... The Ocarina?"
With a nod, he let gravity take him and he plopped onto the ground.
"We must stop him then!" Zelda announced with determination.
Link smiled warily.
They had sat for hours. Zelda planned out how to deal with Ganondorf with the little information Link had been able to provide the words to explain. Exhaustion catching up with him, Link eventually fell asleep. His head on her shoulder. Her voice guiding him to kinder dreams than he'd had in a while. Even before starting his quest.
-
“The princess allowed me to sleep in one of the rooms in the castle. Although she probably didn’t need to since I usually ended up sleeping outside anyway... Got used to it. Sleeping in the big bed just felt too strange.”
“The princess seems really nice.”
Link nodded, “She is....” he sighed, “But, before we could implement our plan-”
-
He woke up to a muffled thunk. Link sat up and groggily wandered to the noise. He hadn’t thought about picking up his sword. He faltered as he noticed Ganondorf and a Gerudo woman bringing in a set of barrels.
Ganondorf turned to look at him and raised a brow. "Child. What are you doing up?"
He pointed to the barrels, brows furrowed.
"Ah, they are a gift to your King."
"It's night," Link forced out. Voice raspy. His glare strengthening.
The Gerudo King walked over to him, dramatic strides intimidating and imposing. Link scrambled to stay out of arms reach of the man. Ganondorf halted. "I get the sense you and the Princess don't like me too much."
Link distinctly regretted not grabbing his sword. His hand itched for something to hold, to protect him. "You're going to hurt people." He said in a harsh whisper, curling his fist.
"You sound so sure.... Why?"
Link looked away and took a step back.
"I don't intend to harm you, child."
"You killed the Great Deku Tree." Link hissed, feeling tears prick at the corners of his eyes.
"Ah. I didn't expect one of you to come out of that forest. Do you plan on speaking to the king? Tell him I killed a tree? I don't think he'll quite believe that... And if he did, it was one tree, do you think he'll care?"
"I'm not going to let you get into the Sacred Realm! You won't get Zelda or I to open the doors for you-"
"The Princess can open the doors?" Ganondorf grinned, "Thank you, young one, for that insight. I would have thought that particular goal lost without the Kokiri Emerald.... Now I can simply move on."
Link's eyes widened, he turned to run to Zelda. To get his sword. To do something. Ganondorf was fast. Especially so now that Link was small again. He never hated being small before this moment. He writhed against Ganondorf's grasp on his arm. He yelled and twisted and kicked.
"Stop it. You'll wake everyone up." Ganondorf snarled. He huffed, "I do hate doing this to a child but you give me no choice." He spoke in a language Link didn't understand. With a sharp jolt in the back of his head, he felt the energy sapped from him. He dropped to the ground. He felt wooden. Like a doll.
Ganondorf picked him up with ease. Dropping him over his shoulder. "It shouldn't kill you. Don't be alarmed. It took significantly more work to kill the Great Deku Tree."
Link's eyes widened. He hit Ganondorf weakly, struggling with the rest of his might. Ganondorf gave him a curious look, seemingly surprised he had even this much fight in him.
He was deposited in the bedroom the princess had given him. "Do try to get some rest, boy.... You'll need it." The door shut and locked.
Slowly, everything went dark.
-
"He cursed you?!"
Link nodded, "I later would realize that the reason I managed to stay awake as long as I did was because I had my own magic.... I had learned some spells before, but found out I could no longer do them."
The Kid frowned, "That's terrible!"
"I learned more later, it didn't entirely sap my aptitude for magic." Link glanced at his own hands. "I don't know... I don't need them as much anymore."
-
Zelda shook him awake. She shoved him to the floor in her urgency.
She pulled him up and before he was truly aware of his surroundings, he was being lifted by hands much stronger than Zelda. Link squirmed, the sleepiness draining from him quickly.
"Link wake up! Please!"
He groggily reached out to her. She gasped "Oh thank the Goddesses."
"Impa!" Zelda cried out. "My father! Where is he?"
"We don't have any more time to spare. I'm sorry Princess. We must leave. Now."
Link gasped. No no, this shouldn't be happening. It shouldn't be happening at all.
Impa ran. She remained surprisingly dexterous and agile despite carrying both children.
Link watched over Impa's shoulder as Ganondorf appeared from the door. His sword was stained red. He grinned and took large, striding steps after them. Impa threw Zelda up onto a horse. Link squirmed out of her grasp before she could toss him up with her.
"Link!" Zelda shrieked, "What are you doing?"
He took out his sword and gestured towards the gates.
"You can't!" She cried, reaching towards him. "You... you could-"
Impa spurred the horse on before she could finish. Link closed his eyes to dash out the image of Zelda's panicked face.
-
"I... never saw the Princess again for a long time after that."
Link nodded, "Eventually."
The Kid stared at him with a deep sadness. He knew he probably resonated too deeply into truth. He would have to change more in his story.
"But you did see her again. Right?"
-
Link tumbled to the ground, ignored. Ganondorf grabbed his own horse. Link roared in fury and made a leaping strike.
Zelda's scream echoed in the distance as Ganondorf clashed against his sword, creating a slash across Link's arm.
Ganondorf pushed him back before he could complete his attack. Knocking him several feet back. He scoffed, "I don't have time for you, child."
Link winced as he scrambled to a stand, listening to the clop clop of hooves. Legs shaking, he raced to the Temple of Time. He knew Ganondorf would be back. He hid behind a pillar, and waited. He could still stop it. He would just have to stop his past self from opening the doors! That could work.
-
"I ran to get the King's Mask before the evil man could. With that, he could rule the kingdom as he saw fit. Masks have great power in Termina, as symbols and sometimes magical items." He explained.
"Oh cool." The Kid leaned forward, "I wonder if any of the masks I had as a kid would be important to people in Termina..."
-
Link looked down with a soft smile, "Some of them, maybe. But anyway.... the mask was... gone, by the time I got there."
The boy ran in just as he expected, the Ocarina of Time still gripped in one hand. Link attempted to dash after him, only to he grabbed from behind. A large hand muffled him. He kicked and squirmed and bit. All it got him was a tighter hold.
“I should’ve known the royal family would send someone through time to stop me.” Ganondorf whispered to him, “I didn’t expect a child. Although, perhaps that’s all they have left.”
Link growled and knocked his head back, hitting Ganondorf’s chin. He was dropped unceremoniously. Scrambling to a stand, Link readied his sword, glancing at the spiritual stones in their places.
“Really?” Ganondorf huffed, “You think that little tumbtack will stop me?”
Link glared.
-
Ganondorf summoned his magic and Link dodged out of the way. “Hm, you learned. Good to know.” Ganondorf walked past him, and Link ran forward to attack, but was yet again thrown back by a dismissive smack. Everything after that was a hazy blur.
Link woke up to the crackle of fire and a burning sensation on his left hand.
Link was quiet for a moment, feeling the oppressive smoke and heat suffocating him. Imagery of Castle Town on fire flickering behind every blink.
The Kid frowned at him, "Are you okay?" He whispered.
Link nodded, tracing the shape of the triforce of courage on his hand. He didn't quite know how the time travel worked with the sacred relic. He glanced at his younger self. He had it too, didn't he?
"Grasshopper?"
Link took in a breath and straightened his posture, "Right. Right. I'm fine. But um. Can we finish this another time?"
The Kid nodded. He stood and stretched. "...Um, quick question... If you don't mind... Why did you leave Termina? You grew up there. And you said it's doing fine now-"
"I was looking for an old friend... Now I just want to help people here."
"Oh. You're a nice person." The Kid concluded.
"...I've been told that." Link said softly. He ruffled the Kid's hair because he knew it would annoy him. "But! It's getting dark and if you don't go back home and rest, I'm gonna go find Sheik and he'll make you sleep."
The Kid gasped in indignation. Then blinked. "Wait you can find Sheik? Really? How!?"
"Oh my Goddesses, go sleep!"
"Is he here!? Is he following me or is he just going to places I need to be before me?"
"Forget Sheik, I will drag you to the forest."
The Kid laughed, "Okay, okay."

>> PART 2
When the lights fade and the facades fall, this is what you’re left with: Tuxedo Mask without a mask, you without your moonlit glamor. Tux the civilian is handsome, you can tell, and this is it—the moment you’ve been waiting for.
He lifts his face.
The youma's words come rushing back: Let the truth be known, the city’s deepest secrets shown.
Tuxedo Mask is none other than Kim Seokjin.
Suddenly, you’re reminded of a crystalline city; people bowing before you; Seokjin taking your hand, your matching rings gleaming in the light. Was it a memory or a dream?
You stand there, dumbfounded, until Tux/Seokjin dons his mask and brushes past. “Come on, Sailor Moon,” he says, sensible enough to use your alias. “The coast is clear. We’ve got a fight to finish.”
“Why does it have to be Seokjin?" You whine, collapsing into bed and disturbing your sleeping cat. (In your defense, he was on your pillow. Which you’ve told him numerous times not to lay down on because his fur would shed.) Luckily, Agust is acquainted with your dramatic side and simply gets up to move.
“Well, why do you have to be Sailor Moon?” He points out. “It could have been someone less bothersome.”
“Hey,” you retaliate. “You’re the one who came to me. You could have given anyone the Lunar Key.”
“I didn't have a choice.”
“What do you mean you didn’t? You could have walked away and picked someone better, just like that.”
He scoffs. “Not when it’s the Queen.”
“Queen-schmeen." You flop back onto your bed, the springs creaking in protest. "I bet Her Royal Highness is on her throne right now, all nice and comfy. She couldn't care less."
Agust doesn't reply.
At first, you think it's because you've won and nothing else can be said, but when the silence stretches on, you know something is off. You sit up to see Agust no longer curled into himself, but sitting. He stares out your window into the night, his normally keen eyes empty. "She's dead."
Judging by his somber tone, she'd meant a lot to him. "I'm sorry," you whisper.
Agust sighs. "No need to apologize, kid. She was your mother, after all."
"My mother?"
"Not now," he amends. "But she was a long time ago, when you were the princess of the moon and Seokjin the prince of the earth.”
The next morning, you head to school on time.
Your mom—present day mom—was surprised to see you up early, and Jeongguk called you out like the bratty brother he was (wow, no morning run today?), but the truth was you couldn’t sleep.
Last night, Agust recounted your past, how the dark eclipsed the moon. Although the queen tried her best to protect the kingdom, it was to no avail. Seokjin died in the fray, and you fell shortly after, helpless to save your beloved. In the end, the queen sacrificed herself to give you and Seokjin another chance at love, her people another chance at happiness.
A chance to rebuild the Silver Millennium.
The thing was, you didn’t know if that was what you wanted. Not that you’d want the Dark Kingdom to reign, but you weren’t sure whether you wanted to rule in your mother’s stead. Or marry Seokjin. Past you might have wanted to, but the you now could barely stand him. And neither could he. Or so you thought. You’d gotten along just fine with Tuxedo Mask, even grown a crush, but that wasn’t enough to warrant a marriage.
“Hello? Veen to Selene*?” Someone nudges your shoulder, and with a start, you notice Mina looking at you in concern.
“Sorry, what did you say?”
“Nothing yet, but it looks like you’ve got something on your mind. What’s up?”
You’re about to tell her when you see Seokjin approaching, his uniform blazer neatly pressed.
“Morning, ______,” Seokjin says. “Mina.”
“Morning,” you reply, ready for whatever biting remark he’d say next. But once Namjoon comes up, he leaves. That's it.
Even Mina, who hardly sees the two of you interact, notices. "That's the first time I've seen you guys polite. It's weird. What happened?"
After a discreet look around, you grab her by the elbow. “He's Tux,” you hiss, but Mina doesn’t look the least bit shocked. Her face breaks out into a giddy grin, like a child who’s finally tall enough to get on the big kid ride.
“You knew?” You ask, a little hurt she didn’t tell you.
She pouts, squishing your cheeks together. “Don’t be mad. You don't know how hard it was to keep it a secret.”
You don't blame Mina, for the most part. It would have been better if you hadn’t known who Tuxedo Mask was, and vice versa. You felt like Cinderella running away from the ball, her beautiful dress giving way to rags and ratty shoes. If the prince caught up to her then, she’d probably be humiliated.
Just like you are now.
Tuxedo Mask has seen you at your most embarrassing moments, fighting to have the last word (or milkshake) as Seokjin, and also at your best, saving civilians with grace. You've only wanted him to see the best of you, for him to think of you as the perfect wonder-girl heroine everyone else saw you as, but he's seen almost every side. You don't know what he sees in you now, if anything. And frankly, you don't want to know.
"Have you ever thought that maybe he's thinking what you're thinking?" Mina asks. "You've seen all the good and bad in him, too."
"But it's different when he doesn't have a crush on Sailor Moon!" You say, exasperated.
"Oh, I wouldn’t be sure about that if I were you."
Seokjin thinking of your alter ego that way is embarrassing, but considering he's also Tuxedo Mask...now your face is red, you can feel it. Red as roses in bloom. "You're joking, right?"
"Why don't you wait and see," Mina replies, as cryptically as when she was Sailor V and you hadn't known any better. Having sympathy for you, she gives you a warm smile. "Don't stress out too much, Moon. You're amazing either way. Just talk to him."
You think there's some reconnaissance to sort out first. When you walked into Crown Arcade and saw Seokjin talking to Jimin pretty intently, you didn’t want to interrupt...okay, who were you kidding? You chickened out.
But Jimin is his best friend, so he'll know how Seokjin feels the most, right? It's the next best alternative to actually speaking to Seokjin, which, well, you aren't ready for. Case in point: you've done the impossible and made yourself scarce. You aren’t about to break your streak now.
So the instant Seokjin leaves, you walk up to the counter. Jimin looks up from sprinkling a milkshake. "Hey. The usual?"
"Yeah, just double on the chocolate."
"You got it," he says, passing the drinks he finished making to a server. You watch him blend milk into ice cream, then reach over for a new cup to pour the mixture into later. It's all done with practiced ease, and you marvel at how quick he is, not to mention how beautiful the finished milkshake looks after. The chocolate is perfect, the whipped cream a cloud of snow drizzled with dark syrup.
Jimin slides it over with a grin. "Mademoiselle."
"Why, thank you," you say, digging in with gusto. This is exactly what "stressed is desserts spelled backwards," meant: Jimin's milkshakes never fail to kick your worries down a notch.
"Good?" He asks.
"Mhm," you mumble, more to your milkshake than to him, when the thought that you haven't paid yet crosses your mind. Oh gosh. You pull your purse onto your lap, but Jimin chuckles, stopping you.
"I've got it covered. Besides, I heard you weren't yourself lately."
"Really?"
He shrugs. "From the way you're devouring that, it's kind of hard to believe…"
You take an extra large mouthful to prove his point.
"But you only lay on the chocolate when you're bummed," he finishes, and you’d protest if you hadn’t made it a habit to drown your sorrows in his milkshakes. They were just too good to resist. Not to mention Jimin is a great listener. Your girls, although you love them, aren't always the best. You'd catch the moment they crossed over from attentive to "Is she done yet?" but with Jimin, you've never had that issue. Turns out you have a different one.
"I hate how perceptive you are."
He laughs. "You're just predictable."
"You know what? You can take back your milkshake and go back to work," you say in a fit of grumpiness, pushing the glass back to him.
"Are you sure you want me to do that?"
You meet him eye to eye. After a minute—a long, impressive minute might you add—you take it back. "Fine. What do you want to hear?"
"Anything you want to tell me. And if it's something you can't share, please tell someone you can. It's not great to keep things bottled up, trust me."
You sigh.
"Here's the deal," you begin, feeling a little weird telling your old crush about your new one, but marching through nevertheless, "I met someone on...online. He's nice and funny and understands me even though he's different. I just click with him, and eventually, I want to tell him I like him. The thing is, I don't really know who he is. We've been chatting on Discord and his profile picture is Tuxedo Mask, but he can't be Tuxedo Mask. Or maybe he is, who knows?"
Jimin laughs. If only he knew.
"Anywho," you continue, "I meet him and find out he's someone I actually know...but he's a pest. He always gets on my nerves and it's like he's a completely different person! I don't even know how that's possible, but apparently it is and it's just so frustrating."
Jimin doesn't speak for a while, which is fine by you. You take the time to jam spoonfuls of chocolate and cream into your mouth.
"You know," he finally says, amused, "that sounds a little like the plot to You've Got Mail."
"That isn't funny.” You huff. “Joe Fox was a jerk and I don't know why they played him off as charming."
"Isn't that what you think of the guy?"
"I never said he was a jerk."
"But you said he was a pest."
"That isn't the s—" You pull at your hair. "Ugh. I don't know anymore."
"Did you talk to him?"
"And what? Spill my complicated feelings?"
"No, just talk to him. You don't have to confess right now. Just air out the laundry and see where you guys are at. Chances are, if you're confused, then he's confused, too, and there's no way either of you can get out of it without talking to each other."
"I can't talk to him, Jimin. I avoided him for three weeks! He's going to hate me."
"He isn't," Jimin says firmly, and you wish you could have the same conviction. "Sure, he'll be upset, but if he's really someone who cares, he'll listen. Look, during that time you avoided him, did he try to reach out?"
"Well, I told him I didn't want to talk and he stopped asking."
"So he'll listen. If it turns out he hates you, give him a piece of your mind and I'll give you triple chocolate milkshakes on the house."
When he puts it like that, talking to Seokjin doesn't seem as dreadful. "You're not just saying that?"
"Have I ever said something I didn't mean?"
You get your answer when someone comes trudging in, holding up a bag from your go-to fast food joint. "Jimin! You better be grateful I drove all the way downtown to get you these burgers. Since when did you like ______'s favorite, anyways?"
"Since now," your traitor of a friend says. You glare at him, which he conveniently ignores.
"You're the best," he tells a surprised Seokjin, leaving with a pat on his shoulder. "Enjoy your meal!"

Anonymous requested: While on a walk to clear his head, Alex is attacked by Caleb as a warning to him and his friends. Shaken, he refuses to tell the band what happened, but he does tell Willie who is furious and protective. Fluffy ending. (This was edited/simplified just to make it shorter.)
Oooh, this was a really good request! All the details were really helpful too, so thank you for that. I really enjoyed writing it, especially the fluff at the end. I really hope this is the sort of thing you were after. Thank you for requesting it, I hope you like it!
TW: injury, blood.
Tripwire
It was safe to say that since Alex and the boys had left the dark room there had been a lot to process. Being dead, for a start. Adjusting to being a ghost had been a whole other ordeal too. Meeting Julie, forming the band, everything that had gone down with Caleb. Willie. Throughout those few months it had been non-stop, one thing after another, and Alex hadn’t had any time to slow down or take a break, not one single moment to really think about what was going on.
Now, somehow, all the difficult stuff was over and done with. Nobody had seen Caleb in weeks, Alex had managed to free Willie from the stamp, and the band had five more gigs lined up, plus a record deal on the horizon. While things were still definitely busy, it wasn’t so constant anymore. Alex finally had the time to just take a breather – or whatever the ghost version of a breather was, seeing as he couldn’t actually breathe. He had settled on his tried and tested method of going for a walk to clear his head to take the time to wrap his mind around it all.
The freedom of teleportation was nice, but it was definitely one of Alex’s least favourite ghost abilities. He couldn’t help but worry he’d somehow end up in the wrong place every time he did it, or that he’d poof out and never reappear anywhere else. It didn’t have the safety of walking through walls or being heard and seen when the band played together. And it might have been freeing, but it wasn’t nearly as freeing as just walking. Walking was slow and repetitive and methodical, rhythmic in a way that was relaxing. When Alex walked he didn’t have to think about where he was going – he could just let his feet take him there while his mind wandered elsewhere.
So that’s what he did. As he walked through the streets of Hollywood, Alex let his mind wander. He thought about everything that had happened since they came back, everything that might have happened in the twenty-five years before that, and everything that could happen in the future. Alex didn’t often think about the future; he didn’t like dwelling on things that were out of his control and the future was certainly that. But as he thought about it then, it didn’t seem quite so daunting – after all, nothing bad had happened in weeks.
As he was nearing the Orpheum, Alex suddenly felt as if something was wrong. It was an odd sensation in the pit of his stomach, a bad feeling that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Dread, maybe. Or perhaps just the intuitive feeling that something was coming and it couldn’t be anything good.
Ahead of him, no more than ten feet away, a mist was gathering, a light lilac cloud spinning faster and faster until it was so thick that Alex couldn’t see through it, growing taller and taller, wider and wider. The cloud spun so fast that Alex could feel wind rush past him from the movement of it, but it was gone as soon as it had come. The cloud dissipated with a soft whoosh, leaving behind a few sparkles drifting on the breeze it had created, and stood where the cloud had been was Caleb Covington.
While he wasn’t happy to see Caleb again after so long, Alex was glad to see he hadn’t lost his flair for the dramatic.
He knew he wouldn’t have time to get away, but he still considered it. Maybe if he ran instead of walking he could get away. He considered poofing out, but his mind had gone completely blank of places to poof to – all he could think of when looking at Caleb was the Hollywood Ghost Club, and going there was nothing short of the worst idea he could ever have had. So he stayed put, staring Caleb down, trying to stop the shaking of his hands and the hammering of his non-existent heart.
“Hello, Alex,” Caleb drawled. His hands were folded atop his cane and he wore a purple suit so dark it almost looked black, his cape wafting ever so slightly in the breeze, his top hat perched neatly on his head. Childishly, Alex wondered if he had the courage to walk up to him and knock the hat off his head. “Long time no see.”
“What do you want?” Alex demanded, trying to sound as if he wasn’t desperate to run away. He was aware that Caleb probably knew just how scared he really was, but if he didn’t show his nerves then he might have been able to convince himself that he wasn’t really frightened.
Caleb tutted. “Come now, is that really how you greet an old friend? I might have expected it from Luke but certainly not from you, Alex. I’m only here to see how you’re getting on without me!”
It felt like a trap, but Alex didn’t know what tripwire he was supposed to avoid.
“We’re doing fine,” he said firmly. “We don’t need you.”
“So you keep telling me,” Caleb replied. He flexed his hands, still grasping his cane. “Tell me, Alex – how did you and your little buddies manage to free yourselves from my stamp, hm?”
“Why should I tell you that?” Alex spat. It was a braver way of saying ‘we have no idea’.
“Oh, I don’t think you should,” Caleb admitted. “If you told me how you did it there would be dire consequences for you and your friends, but it would be extremely helpful to me. If you want to keep this newfound freedom with your silly little band, you shouldn’t tell me how you got the stamp off.”
“Then I’m not telling you,” Alex said.
“But,” Caleb continued, a malicious twinkle in his eyes, “if you want to walk away from this little chat unharmed then I suggest you tell me everything.”
Up until then, Alex thought he had been doing a very good job at standing his ground, maybe even looking a little intimidating. But the threat broke him. He felt himself freeze, his mind halt, and suddenly he was far weaker than the man in front of him.
“Unharmed?” he repeated. “What do you mean ‘unharmed’?”
Caleb cocked his head to the side like he didn’t understand the question. “Isn’t it obvious?” When Alex didn’t say anything, Caleb chuckled darkly. It sent shivers down Alex’s spine and made his stomach twist sickeningly. “Alex, if you refuse to tell me exactly how you got my stamp off, I am going to hurt you. And let me tell you, you’d be surprised just how much you can make someone hurt even after they’re dead and gone.”
Alex’s mind was spinning. There was no good option here, no way out. Caleb had trapped him in yet another impossible situation. He cursed himself for not poofing out while he had the chance.
But it didn’t matter how scared he was now, he would not let his friends suffer just to stave off his own pain. He had to take one for the team, even if he was dreading it. The smirk on Caleb’s face said that he knew he had won this round no matter what, smug and self-satisfied. Alex wanted to slap the smile right off his face, but he refused to give him the satisfaction of a fight.
He steeled himself, set his jaw, tried to look like as much of a threat as he could. “I’m not telling you anything. Nothing you do can make me talk. Do your worst.”
Caleb raised an eyebrow, looking almost amused, but he nodded. “Alright then. You’ve made your decision. I can’t say I’m surprised – you’re not as weak-willed as you look. But you’re still weak. I can still hurt you.”
He tucked his cane under his arm and stalked towards Alex. Too late, Alex wondered if he could have taken that brief opportunity to run away, but he would never know because Caleb grabbed his wrist. It was just like how he’d put the stamp on, a quick touch and a slight sting. When he let go, Alex looked at where his hand had been – there was a blood red mark there, swirling on his skin. Its shape constantly changed, but Alex was sure he picked out a blade before it twisted and morphed into something else.
“What is it?” he asked Caleb.
“You’ll soon see,” he replied, already walking away. He threw the words over his shoulder as he left Alex alone. “Consider this a warning to you and your friends. Willie, too. It isn’t over. There is plenty more I can do to make you suffer. It’s up to you to decide whether you’re willing to put yourselves through all of this just to stay away from me. I’ll see you soon, Alex.”
And he was gone.
For a moment, Alex was confused. This stamp, whatever it was, didn’t seem to be doing anything. It was just moving about on his skin, as fluid as water, like a cool tattoo. He wondered – hoped – if Caleb’s spell hadn’t worked.
But then it hit him. It felt as if he’d been struck by lightning and hit by a bus at the exact same time, unimaginable pain slamming into him and knocking him right off his feet. It was infinitely worse than the pain of the jolts Caleb had inflicted on them before which should have been impossible because those felt like death. And yet there he was, lying on the ground, winded and light-headed, pain surging through his body, unable to move.
Another one. This time it felt like he’d been kicked in the temple and had his face stamped on. He was sure his nose was broken even though that probably shouldn’t have been possible. He lifted a weak, shaking hand to his face and touched his upper lip – when his hand came away, his fingertips were drenched in blood. Alex had been sure that ghosts didn’t have blood, so he wondered whether he’d been wrong or if this was some sort of sick illusion Caleb had created. He decided it didn’t matter, not when he was vulnerable and hurting, in agony worse than dying.
Again, like being stabbed in the gut.
Again, like he’d broken his legs.
Again, like a knife twisted in his back.
It went on and on, attack after attack, pain after searing pain. It hurt too much for him to even scream for help, not that it would have done any good. All around him, lifers walked by without a care in the world, not knowing that he was right there, a snivelling wreck, bloodied and bruised. He curled in on himself and waited for it all to be over.
Eventually, it finished. The last jolt came like a punch to the jaw and when nothing else happened for fifteen minutes, Alex began to come to his senses. He opened his eyes and eased himself up into a sitting position. Even that hurt like hell. He studied his body – his legs, even though they felt like they had been snapped in half, seemed fine; there were a few bruises on his arms, but nothing major; every aching joint was killing him and his head was pounding; again, he touched his upper lip and felt blood crusted there, but none of it was fresh enough to be wet.
He could only imagine how pathetic he looked.
How was he going to explain all this to his friends?
Never mind an explanation – he needed to warn them.
Slowly, he picked himself up off the ground. He regretted it immediately as his head started swimming, he swayed on his feet, almost slumping right back down to the ground. He wouldn’t let himself be beaten by this, he wouldn’t show anymore weakness. His vision blurred (by pain or unshed tears, it was impossible to tell), he focused as much as he could on the studio and forced himself to poof back there.
The feeling of teleportation was uncomfortable at the best of times, but in such a state Alex couldn’t have imagined anything worse. He landed in the studio, his feet hitting the floor with such force that it sent shockwaves up his spine, nothing compared to what he’d just been through but still unbelievably painful. Distantly, he could hear his friends stop talking, muffled and indistinct voices crowding all around him, their faces swimming in front of his eyes.
“Alex,” came a voice. Maybe Julie’s, maybe Luke’s, maybe Reggie’s, maybe none of them. “Alex, buddy, you alright? Come on, speak to us, Alex. What happened? Alex? Alex?”
There was little strength in his arms, but he used it to push them all away and staggered his way to the couch. He collapsed onto it, suddenly feeling weak, somehow more vulnerable than he’d felt lying on the ground as Caleb’s stamp beat him bloody. He checked his wrist now – the stamp was gone.
He came back to himself a little at that; if the stamp was gone, he couldn’t be hurt anymore. He was alright now, he was with his friends, Caleb was nowhere to be seen. But knowing that didn’t stop the tears pooled in his eyes from sliding down his cheeks or his hands from shaking so intensely they might fall off his body. Someone – no, not just someone, it was Julie – crouched down in front of him and gently laid a hand on his knee.
He jerked away from the touch like it burned him.
“Alex,” came Julie’s soft voice. “Alex, please look at me. What happened?”
All he could do in response was shake his head and curl in on himself, body heaving with every sob he was too weak to suppress.
“Alex,” Reggie tried. Alex felt the couch cushions depress next to him as Reggie sat beside him. “It’s alright, man. You’re safe here with us.”
“You’re not alone, Alex,” came Luke’s voice. “Just tell us what happened. Who did this to you?”
But still Alex could only shake his head.
No one said anything for a while. The only sound in the studio was Alex’s laboured breathing and ragged sobs. He’d never felt so pathetic in all his life and death – he could make it through torture without crying like this, and yet just being around his friends after the fact was enough to set him off. He felt useless, he hadn’t even tried to stop Caleb in any way. He’d let this happen, he was the reason he was hurt. This was all his fault.
After a while, he heard the sound of one of the boys poofing out, presumably Luke because Alex could still feel Reggie sat beside him. Only a minute or so later, there was the sound of someone poofing back in, but Luke wasn’t alone now.
“Alex?”
His haggard breathing stopped altogether as Alex opened his eyes to see Willie in front of him, crouched down where Julie had been before. There was a soft smile on their face, reassuring, but Alex wasn’t blind to the tears in their eyes. Alex timidly reached out a hand to him and Willie interlocked their fingers.
“I’m here,” Willie said, his voice wavering. “I’m here for you, hotdog.”
At that, fresh tears began streaming down Alex’s face. He pulled Willie to him, wrapping him in a fierce embrace, holding them so tight that it made his new injuries sear with pain, but he never wanted to let go. The pain was worth every bit of comfort that simply holding Willie provided, every moment, every second, everything.
“We’ll give you guys a minute,” Julie said quietly.
“What?” Luke protested. “No way, I want to find out who hurt Alex and I want to hurt them.”
“Luke,” Julie said, gentle but firm. “That’ll come later. I’m sure we’ll find out everything, but right now we shouldn’t surround him.”
Alex, still holding Willie like his afterlife depended on it, heard the three of them reluctantly leave him and Willie behind. He was grateful for the most part, but a little bit of him still wanted them there. It would have been harder to tell them all what had happened at once, but he would have preferred not to repeat the story.
Willie just held him. They didn’t press for him to talk, didn’t let go before Alex was ready, he just held him in his arms and occasionally whispered, “I love you. You’re safe. I’m here.”
Alex couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have someone like Willie care for him.
Eventually, he pulled away. It hurt to see Willie’s face streaked with tears, especially knowing it was because of him. Alex softly tucked a lock of hair behind their ear.
“I was out for a walk,” he rasped, his voice strained from crying. “Clearing my head. Like the day we first met. Same place and everything. Then there was this weird cloud and Caleb appeared. He said if I didn’t tell him how we got the stamps off then he’d hurt me.”
“Oh, Alex,” Willie breathed. Alex could see their heart breaking.
“I wouldn’t tell him. It’s not like we know anyway. So he… he put this other stamp on me – it was like, red and swirly and it looked like…”
“Death,” Willie finished for him. Alex nodded, looking at the ground, trying to still his breathing again. “It looked like death.”
“It felt like it too,” Alex said dryly. “Or worse.” He choked on his words, remembered it all, broke again.
He fell limply to the side, but Willie caught him, pulled him into a hug as he cried. There were images racing through his mind, one after the other – Caleb’s mirthless laughter and sly smirk, the stamp dripping across his skin, himself lying on the ground covered in his own blood. He still hadn’t figured out if that blood had been real or an illusion, but he couldn’t bring himself to care anymore because right that moment he felt as if he couldn’t breathe and his legs were numb and the walls were closing in and he was losing his grip on reality and losing his grip on Willie and–
“Come back, Alex,” Willie said, his voice cutting through Alex’s hopeless thoughts. “You’re not there anymore. It’s over. You survived. You are in Julie’s garage, I’m holding you, nothing can get to you. Come back, Alex.”
Slowly, Alex dragged himself down from his thoughts. He focused on the feeling on his hands clutching Willie’s hoodie, the tickle of Willie’s hair against his cheek, the warmth of Willie’s hands on his back. He focused on Willie and it brought him back.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
“Don’t apologise,” Willie told him, sounding almost outraged. He watched as Willie took a moment to collect himself, and when they spoke again their voice was much calmer. “You have nothing to apologise for. None of this was your fault. Please tell me you know that.”
Alex couldn’t have truthfully said so, and he wouldn’t lie to Willie. Bottom lip trembling as he held back yet more tears, he remained silent.
“Alex, this wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t have known Caleb was going to attack you. You couldn’t have predicted any of this. And it could have happened to any one of us. We all would have done the same thing. You made it through, Alex. This wasn’t your fault and you’re not weak for getting hurt.”
After a moment’s pause, Alex weakly repeated back to them, “This wasn’t my fault.”
Willie pressed a kiss to the top of Alex’s head. “Good. Please remember that. You don’t need to feel guilty about this, alright?”
All he did was nod, closing his eyes and resting his head on Willie’s chest.
“I can explain the stamp if you want,” Willie said, carding his fingers through Alex’s hair. “It has some fancy Latin name that I can’t remember. When Caleb uses it on someone, it takes the most pain they’ve ever been in, and it multiplies it by a thousand. It’s a good thing he can’t use it on lifers because if he did it would kill them with the first jolt.”
“I’m not surprised,” Alex deadpanned.
“The first time he used it on me I thought he was trying to kill me. Again. Or force me to cross over somehow.”
At that, Alex sat up and stared at Willie, wide-eyed. “The first time?”
Gently, Willie pulled Alex back to his lap and laid him down again. “He would use it on me if ever I stepped really out of line. The last time was the day you guys performed at the Orpheum. But I’m free now, so as long as we avoid Caleb it’ll never happen again. If we all avoid him – me, you, Luke, Reggie – then none of us have to get hurt.”
“I don’t think we can avoid whatever he’s got planned,” Alex mumbled.
“Maybe not,” Willie admitted. “But let’s not think about that now. Right, hotdog? I mean, you made it out today. Let’s focus on that. Is there anything you want to do?”
Alex thought for a moment but all he came up with was: “I just want to sleep. And I want you to hold me.”
He could hear Willie’s smile in their voice. “Of course. Whatever you want, Alex.”
Alex felt his eyes drifting closed, sleep catching up with him all at once, the exhaustion being a by-product of the agony. He didn’t mean to say it, but he heard his tired voice breathe, “I love you.”
And just before he fell asleep, he heard Willie whisper back, “I love you too, Alex. Sleep well.”

Cafe 7 Dream: Chenle
Tumblr media
Word count: 2,438
Warnings: violence, stabbing
Read the prologue before reading this!
You were heading out to the cafe after class. Renjun and Haechan were far up ahead of you, chasing behind Jisung to tease him. Mark, Jaemin, and Jeno laughed at the poor boy’s torment and ran along to catch up. You and Chenle were left alone. The two of you didn’t really hang out alone together. The only times when you were this close to Chenle was when you hung out Jisung. Even then, you were never alone with Chenle for more than a minute.
“You know, uh, we never really spend time together,” Chenle said with a nervous laugh.
“Well, you are my boss,” you joked.
Chenle felt hurt at your reply. He wanted you to think of him as a friend, not as the guy who ordered you around and didn’t even pay you.
“You can work with me today,” Chenle offered.
“I was actually hoping to assemble some cakes with Mark today, but that sounds great too,” you replied.
You had no idea how much your words stung Chenle. He had a major crush on you for months. Hearing that he wasn’t even in the friendzone made him upset. Chenle was determined to make you like him, even a little bit.
At the cafe, you stood behind Chenle as he worked. You watched him lift boxes and give order to the other boys. You didn’t want to admit it, but Chenle was quite attractive when he was in a position of power. His confidence made you swoon. In reality, Chenle was quite anxious about his crush staring at him. The two of you talked a little, but you were both nervous about impressing each other.
After the last customer walked about, Chenle decided to make a move on you.
“Hey, y/n, do you want to come over to my place tonight?” Chenle knew the question was completely random, but he didn’t know if he would ever get another opportunity to ask you out.
You were quite shocked at his question, wondering if he could read your mind. You had just been thinking about how you wanted to spend more time with him.
Chenle assumed your silence was a no and said, “That’s fine. I’ll see you again tomorrow, y/n.” His face dropped in disappointment.
“No!” you said, grabbing his shoulder. You quickly let go after you realized what you had done. “I mean, I’d love to spend more time with you. Tonight sounds nice.”
“Great!” Chenle held on to your hand softly and led you out the cafe doors. Before he stepped out, he turned around and said, “guys, you can close up without me.”
Chenle’s house was huge, to say the least. Everything looked like it was out of a storybook. There was beautiful mahogany furniture that lined the hallways, which seemed like they went on forever. The high ceilings and walls were embellished with gold fixtures. You were sure that you were in a palace.
Chenle noticed the wonder on your face as you walked through the house and smiled to himself. He was overjoyed to make you impressed.
“Pretty nice, right?” he asked.
“This place is more than nice,” you said with wide eyes. “It’s insane!”
Chenle laughed at your reply. He didn’t care much for the way the house looked. Chenle was never interested in such superficial things, but seeing you this happy made him feel so lucky.
“Come on, let’s go to my room,” he said, pulling you up the stairs.
Chenle’s room was much more modestly decorated compared to the rest of the house. Despite all the luxury of his home, Chenle had mastered the art of the broke, messy college student look. You sat on his bed and looked around the room. Chenle grabbed a bottle from under his desk and handed it to you.
“You should try this, it’s really good.” You accepted the bottle and started to drink it. “I’ll go get some snacks for us,” Chenle said, walking out his room.
The drink Chenle gave you tasted like orange soda, but was a bit more bitter. You weren’t sure if it was your lack of sleep or the drink, but you began to feel sleepy. You were too tired to sit up, so you laid down on Chenle’s bed. You tried fighting your sleep, but it was just too strong.
In your dreams, you saw yourself as a child. You watched your first day of school, your graduations, and your birthday parties. These memories made you feel cheerful and warm. The memories of your past slowly started to fade away. You body felt cold and empty. Darkness surrounded you. You felt lost, until a light grew around you. You saw yourself again, but this time it wasn’t a memory. You watched yourself on the floor, covered in blood. You were crying for help, but nobody was there to save you. Your body jolted and you woke up.
“y/n is everything okay?” Chenle asked. He rushed to your side and began to stroke the side of your face.
“I was just dreaming and I saw something really weird,” you said, sitting up on the bed. “I kind of saw myself being attacked.”
“Ah shoot.” Chenle placed his hand on his forehead and shook his head. “I knew this would have never worked.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Come on y/n.” Chenle gestured with his hand for you to follow him.
Chenle took you into the library of his home. The room was huge and you were sure there were thousands of books in it. You had never seen anything like it before. Chenle pulled out a book from the shelf and handed it to you.
“Read the cover.”
“‘Spells of the Mind, a Complete Encyclopedia.’ What is this?” you asked.
“Magic books. The place is full of them. You can read all the titles and you’ll see.”
You listened to Chenle and checked out the other books on the shelves. You found ‘The Guidebook to Forest Spirits: Volume 1’, ‘The History of Warlocks’, and ‘Dried Grass Potions’. Every book you picked up had a strange name and you simply could not understand it all.
“What does this mean Chenle?” you asked, as you poked around the bookshelf.
“I’m not a normal person, y/n. My family has magical abilities,” Chenle started to explain.
“Yeah right,” you replied, rolling your eyes.
“Do you have a better explanation for all these books then?” Chenle snapped. You were silent and let him continue.
“Like I was saying, my family has magic abilities so do some of the guys. You see, Jisung’s actually a wizard. He made a love potion and put it in the cafe’s food. That’s why we get so many customers. And Jeno, he’s a water spirit. Then there’s Haechan. He hasn’t really gotten his powers yet, but they should come in any day now.”
“What about Jaemin? Is he some kind of coffee spirit?” you asked.
“Nah, Jaemin’s just a regular human. He’s just a little weird. Mark’s human too.”
You laughed and said, “Go figure. A group filled with magical beings and Jaemin’s the normal person.” Chenle laughed long with you. “What about Renjun?”
“Ah, Renjun,” Chenle became quiet. “Renjun’s kind of an oracle. He sees into the future and stuff. Most of his visions have never really happened, so his powers are kind of a joke. But he had one vision where you were attacked, so I got worried, and I gave you that thing to drink. It was a potion to protect you, but then you saw the vision yourself, and um, yeah,” Chenle rambled.
“His visions, they’re not accurate?” you said with a raised eyebrow.
“They’ve never really happened, so I think so. And what you saw,” Chenle paused for a second. “It was probably just a manifestation of my own fears, since I was the one who gave you the potion. It doesn’t really mean anything.”
“Okay, cool,” you said, brushing away the topic. “So tell me more about you Chenle! What are your powers like?”
“Well I’ve been trained in practically everything, but my specialty is a secret.” You pouted at his answer. “It’s because my parents are kind of big deals in the magic world, so we can’t be open about our abilities. It’s for our safety.”
“When can I meet your parents? I am in their house, after all.”
“At the cafe event. They’re launching a campaign about the implementation of magic in the real world, and the cafe is the first place on the list. They’ll be there and a whole bunch of magical beings in the business world will be there too.”
You and Chenle sat on the floor of the library and talked for hours. You were amazed by all the books, and pulled out each from the shelves to have Chenle explain it to you. By the end of the night, you were engulfed by the world of magic. You wanted to learn more, so you asked Chenle if it was okay to stay over. He was delighted and showed you to a room near his own.
The next day at the cafe, you wanted to see the magic in action. You sneaked behind Jisung as he went into the back room. The room looked like the lab of a mad scientist. There were shelves filled with potions on all the walls. Your cover was blown when Jisung turned around.
“Ah y/n! What are you, um, doing, uh, here?” Jisung stuttered. He took a step closer to you, trying to make you leave the room.
“Chill out, Jisung. Chenle told me all about your little love potion,” you said with a smirk. “I know you guys have magic.”
Jisung blushed at your words and replied, “Well since you’re here, want to see what I’ve been up to?”
You nodded and Jisung started to explain all the potions he had made. Most of them were just variations of the love potion, which was his specialty. You grabbed a bottle to examine.
“Be careful y/n! That one’s still a little messed up. Chenle drank it before and he confessed that he like y-” Jisung stopped speaking when he realized what he had done.
“He likes me?” you said with wide eyes.
“He, uh, just pretend like you didn’t hear anything, okay?” Jisung said before shooing you out the room. “Chenle’s going to kill me for this,” he muttered to himself.
After the cafe had closed, Chenle invited you to his house again. The two of you were sitting in the library when Chenle opened up to you.
“y/n, I think you’re so perfect and beautiful and amazing and, uh, can I be your boyfriend?” Chenle blabbered.
You laughed at his confession, thinking back to what Jisung had told you earlier.
Chenle looked down and said, “I get it. I’m sorry I-”
“Don’t apologize,” you said, grabbing his hand. “I like you too! I was just laughing because Jisung spilled your secret earlier today.”
“Ugh, I’m going to get him for this!”
You and Chenle laughed and cuddled in the library. Chenle offered for you to spend the night again, and you happily accepted. Every day after work, Chenle offered to take you to his home, and you always said yes. You practically lived at his house.
One night, while you were sleeping, Chenle was discussing the cafe event with his mother.
“It’ll be shameful if Haechan doesn’t have his powers. People from all over the world are going to coming to the cafe. What are they going to think when they see a boy with unawakened powers? We have to maintain our reputation.”
“But mom-”
“No buts. If the only way to bring out the magic in him is through a ritual, then so be it. You’ve got a sleeping human upstairs, ready to be sacrificed. I expect you to do what’s right for this family.”
Chenle couldn’t bring himself to hurt you. His family’s success was nothing compared to your life. You were his number one priority, or at least that’s what he tried to convince himself.
It was the day of the cafe event and Chenle still hadn’t followed his mother orders. Chenle knew there would be dire consequences if he didn’t do as he was told.
“Hey y/n, Haechan, can you help me in the back?” Chenle said. His voiced quivered slightly as he thought about what he was going to do.
When you were all in the back room, Chenle told you to count how many potions were on the walls. With your back wide open, Chenle whispered “I’m sorry,” and slashed you.
You woke up in a hospital bed. Chenle was sitting next to you.
“Chenle, baby, what happened?” you said innocently.
“y/n! I was threated by my mother to use your blood for a sacrifice and give it to Haechan so it would awaken his powers and I really didn’t want to do it I swear, but my mother forced me so I had no choice and y/n I know this makes me a horrible person, I just didn’t know what to do so-” Chenle rambled before breaking down into tears.
“The vision. Renjun’s vision was true. The reason I had the vision when you gave me the protection potion was because you were the one I needed protection from,” you said in a monotone voice.
“I’m so sorry, just please, please, just forgive me, I really didn’t want for it to turn out this way, please,” Chenle pleaded.
“You know so much about magic. You knew what my vision meant, didn’t you? You lied to me.”
“I truly didn’t mean, oh just please, I didn’t want to do it, it was all a mistake, I just wanted to help you, I didn’t know it would be like this,” Chenle continued.
As betrayed as you felt, you knew Chenle was genuine. You loved him with your whole heart and you knew he felt the same way about you. You couldn’t let him torture himself over something he had no choice over.
“I’ll forgive you one day, but not today.”

Here's a fun AU idea. I was thinking instead of tarot card reading Amy has vivid visions of the future. However whenever she gets a good vision dizzy spell when she gets a bad vision terrible sometimes debilitating headaches and she doesn't control what she sees. This makes her a person of interest to Eggman, G.U.N., and other world governments so they constantly try to capture her and use her power for their own gain. If she tries to force a vision it hurts her. Sonic is very protective of Amy
*feels tired today, just re-reading prompts to get ideas -sometimes new- or get excited about who’s next in line*
Thinking in my head, ‘I’m just not feeling well today, but I do have some ideas.’ The very next thought to encourage me, ‘You write your best when you’re tired.’
Me, directly after that thought, ‘...Darn it, you’re right.’ *proceeds to write all and every emotion in vivid detail* (lololol)
I know myself too well.

PROMPTS ARE ON SHUTDOWN. No, you cannot beg nicely for me to take your prompt until they are open again, sorry love, them’s the rules. BI
Slightly gonna alter your request for the benefit of something I think may be a stronger storyline, I hope you still enjoy it, Precious Anon! \(:D)/
Prompt:
There was a rift in the chasm of space time, an unfathomable amount of power was being expelled and pulled, creating real and alternative timelines.
In order for Sonic and the gang to face these anomalies, Silver suggested that someone with the potential of mental abilities and the like should try and connect with the magnetizing force that keeps tugging and shoving on time, rewriting it and creating all these alternative realities continuously. Destroying and recreating decisions and parallel worlds would have a chaotic effect on the universe, but no one seemed to be able to connect to the unseen force, and Eggman didn’t seem to be anywhere in sight either.
Everyone was troubled... there was this silent fear that we’d be rewritten in seconds, that we’d cease to be who we really were in this very moment.
I stood by as my friends talked heatedly about their options, they each had tried but none had succeeded in connecting to that ‘force’.
I always felt I had magical properties to myself, if we could just connect to the dimension where this force started from, we may be able to help on our end.
I fidgeted, knowing Silver and Sonic were butting heads since Silver’s main priority was the future, while Sonic’s was the here and now.
Some found hope in this rewritten time, making Shadow and Eggman actually allies once again... Shadow hoping the past could be changed, and Eggman for his obvious reasons of defeating Sonic and taking over the world.
Both were absent and nowhere to be found.
As they continued to grow more and more harsh in how they spoke with one another, I felt the longing to end the conflict, and looked over to the Master Emerald.
It was the only thing that wasn’t being rewritten, some clue to connecting to the other dimensions...
Everyone had called out to it but nothing was working. I felt something swirl in me like an engine, seeing my beloved Sonic turning so angry and Silver ignoring him sent me into a rage myself, but I kept my lips in a fine line and held my fury back.
‘Friends shouldn’t talk to each other like this, or get in each other’s faces with such heavy glares...’ I knew in my heart that if I joined in, I wouldn’t part the two, but only get caught in their crossfire of differing ideals.
Both were stubborn, and both weren’t looking at the bigger picture.
Without a way to communicate with the alternative timelines, our decisions wouldn’t help us get any further to contacting the other dimension, and not just that... but we wouldn’t progress at all. We’d just be going around in circles...
“You can’t seriously think that sitting around waiting for some magical tether from the other dimensions is going to get us out of this time loop!” Sonic’s voice was full of presence and experience, he was a well-traveled hero, and knew the best options to weigh in moments like these... but Silver continued to fight back.
“If we advance unknowingly and without caution into the stream of time, we could easily be just as trapped in it’s nonsensical clutches as we were before! For some reason, the Master Emerald’s location is the only place in time where the effects of the rewritten world aren’t effected! If we give up this position, no one might be able to tell us what’s going on!” Silver swung an arm out, stepping up and going toe to toe with Sonic, refusing to back down from the argument. “I know you think charging into the time-stream might give us answers, but it’s a risk that holds so many unlimited possibilities that it’s fruitless to venture in! You’d just be trapped and the rest of us possibly waiting all eternity for you to choose the right path to even get out to another dimension!”
That part we knew was sound and right, that unless you pick the right choice every time, the time vortex would just pull you somewhere else. Without knowing the other dimension’s choices, we’d never be able to coordinate this... even Tails said something along the lines of a uniformed pathway that could get them all to the center of this strange force...
Otherwise, we’d be trapped... forever.
“You’re leaving us as sitting ducks to whatever’s happening! It’s going to put us all in danger!” Sonic was beyond listening to reason, however. My darling could never just sit by while we all feared for our lives and the world’s future.
The two stood so close, it looked as though their foreheads would touch, and I could tell Sonic was about to make a stand so great that Silver would be forced to let him go...
I couldn’t stand the thought of losing Sonic in a time-loop forever. In being stuck on Angel Island’s alter for the rest of eternity till someone figured out the correct choices...
I felt my whole being flood with tingles and expectations, with exactly what I was going to do and how my very soul wouldn’t allow me to watch as everyone would lose themselves diving into a puzzle that had no way of being solved without aid.
That was the last straw for me. Seeing Sonic pull himself away from Silver and walk over to the Master Emerald, “I’m done talking. Taking action is the only way we can succeed against this catastrophe.” He spoke so manner-of-factly... he was going to touch the Master Emerald and dive into the vortex... wasn’t he?
“No...” I held my hand out, seeing the Chaos Emeralds all glow as he was fusing with them to create the miracle known as Super Sonic... but I couldn’t- I couldn’t banish Sonic to an eternity of never-ending wandering through an unescapable maze!!!
“Soonniiccc!!!” I charged forward, making him flinch and pause a moment as he turned to look back at me, but by then, I had already reached forward and interfered with the Chaos Emeralds giving him power.
Instead of him turning Super, I felt my hand touch the Master Emerald, and all time seemed to freeze. I gripped the Master Emerald with my arms, widening the span of how far my arms could reach, and shook my head against it. “I can’t let everyone panic and waste away our precious friendships over this... this... whatever it is! Please, Master Emerald! Do I have the potential to set things right!?” I dipped my head down as the power overwhelmed me. Time slowly began again, as I was moving at normal speed, everyone around me started to move as though slowed considerably.
Is this..?” I looked up to see Sonic’s hand slowly reaching for me, and his surprised expression at stopping him. “Chaos’s... power?”
I was shot back as my eye-sockets glowed a bright green, and through some vision or other, saw what looked like my younger self, also getting driven from the Master Emerald.
The original world... the first universe... Somehow, by the two of us acting and making a decision in unison, or maybe she had made it previously... I wasn’t sure, we were able to finally find a bond and connect in some magical way to where I could see that dimensions choices.
I felt my bare back slam against the graveled dirt of Angel Island and skid aggressively to a halt as it scratched my back and left me feeling weak.
Time returned to normal, I guess? As I heard my friends cry out my name and rush me.
I could numbly feel hands on me, shaking me as my eyes struggled to lift up, and were just waving open slightly.
My head hurt, I was dizzy and couldn’t see anything at first clearly. It was all a blur, before Silver’s and Sonic’s voices rang out the most.
“What happened!?” Sonic’s voice was full of authority, as though ready to take action if something need be done.
“She... I’m not sure, but the Master Emerald fused it’s time capabilities with her. You saw it, right? Her whole body was vibrating so quickly... like....” Silver was interrupted by Tails just then.
“Like she was merged into all the different dimensions... she was moving faster than the time strain!” Tails’s excitement meant only one thing...
“So... she had the potential then, out of all of us, to carry the connection.” Silver’s reserved tone must have meant that he felt validated in what he was so adamantly defending earlier. “Now that she can guide us through the time vortex, we might be able to reverse whatever’s happening, and return time and space to normal again.”
Sonic looked over at Silver, then down towards me as I still felt my breathing was low and drained, I couldn’t speak no matter how much my lips parted to try. It was like I was still adjusting to being in one dimension again, instead of flying through to see my other self’s choices.
“It didn’t need to come to this point...” Sonic spoke gravely, but it seemed to trigger and enrage Silver as he shot his head to look back at him, then stood up, defiantly.
“If you hadn’t acted the way you did, we may not have gotten this path. We have a real way to succeed and get through this now, Sonic! Why are you still so against me!?” He tightened his fists and thrust them forward, showing how much he was holding back his mixed emotions...
He was somewhat humble enough to admit that if Sonic didn’t rebel against him, that I wouldn’t have done what I did... but on the other hand, it still seemed like Sonic was opposed.
“I just meant that it didn’t need to be this way.” Sonic shook his head to Silver, remaining somewhat collected from his earlier clenched jaw demeanor. He put what felt like the warmest touch out of everyone’s onto my arm, and looked back to me, “It didn’t need to be so fueled...”
Somehow... I knew he was speaking to me.
He must have meant he wished it wasn’t so emotional to where I was put in a rough spot, choosing between losing the love of my life or sacrificing myself into the time vortex... I would have jumped, if Sonic jumped too... at least then, we could be trapped together. He wouldn’t have had to be alone in that endless maze...
Well, maybe he wouldn’t have thought those exact wordings of it, but... it did help to think he may have seen it as an act of true love.
I gained strength from his hand resting on my arm, and slowly began to wobble and lean myself up.
Everyone saw my arms gain strength again and push from under me, and immediately swarmed me again to help, perhaps unaware if I was conscious enough to have heard their discussion.
They called out to me, and I nodded, showing I was here and alert, but drained somewhat.
The pounding in my head subsided and I gripped it, “I... I saw her.” I stated, “I saw the original dimension this all happened in... I think I can do it again.”
Sadly, I couldn’t just ‘summon’ the answers. Something had to trigger it, which began another frustration as we all held one another’s hands and jumped into the void.
The first rewritten stories were perplexing. A shadowy figure that swarmed with dark matter looked strangely in the silhouette of Eggman, but instead of targeting Sonic like usual, he kept coming after me.
“U-wah!!” I leaped out of one of his dark matter missiles as everyone was getting scattered from me, as though this figure didn’t want me to receive any help.
“Amy!” Sonic called out, darting from the after-effects of the missiles, for when they landed and exploded, a space of black, glittering galaxy expanded out in a small radius and tried to suck us into another story to lose our progression.
He rolled and finally slid under the shadowy Eggman, confusing him as he pulled up on his Eggmobile and Sonic round-house kicked him away from me.
He reached to grab me, and as I went to reach for him as well, my eyes glowed again the color of the Master Emerald and I saw the other dimensional me.
She was young and looked like my younger years of first meeting Sonic. Sonic was younger too, and reached out in the same way Sonic was doing now. Was this... the corresponding choice?
Could I only see these moments when something unified happened? Were we making the same choices our other selves were or are making right this second?
I couldn’t tell, but I could see that after that Sonic and little me took the other’s hands, she summoned her hammer and spun to whack a younger looking Eggman away and send him flying, then everyone gathered and they took the right route... where it looked like the world was splitting apart and floating rapidly in a spinning and drifting away appearance.
When I came back, my head hurt and I looked to see that while unconscious, my friends were defending me from the shadowy figure of the Eggman lookalike.
“W-we have to take the right path!” I shouted out, my head pounding and debilitating me from summoning my hammer.
I had to though, if I didn’t, time would rewrite and we’d have to start with a new scenario and from scratch. Everyone was depending on me to guide them... I had to fight through the pain!
I struggled to lean up, feeling my body tense like cracking through uncooked spaghetti, but my arms finally cricked into position and I summoned my hammer.
“HAAA!!!” I grabbed Sonic’s hand which, when he noticed I was getting up, hurried to reach out to me again as I felt him pull me forward and swung my hammer into the momentum of his helpful pull.
The Shadowy Eggman went flying, and though Silver thought the left looked more safe from the twisting rapidly pieces of land in the galaxy on the right side, I urged him to trust me.
Sonic and I... we were so amped up in the moment... we didn’t realize that we never let go of one another’s hand...
G.U.N was in this memory or story, whichever it was, and they were after a shadowy figure of Shadow The Hedgehog.
However, Shadow seemed to be targeting me, as though wanting to destroy me.
This continued to baffle Tails and Silver, but Sonic was more protective than I’ve ever seen before, unselfishly throwing himself in the rippling blackness of Shadow’s silhouette, but was defenseless against how much more powerful this Shadow appeared to be.
It was reminding us all of when Shadow first awakened, and Knuckles tag-teamed with Sonic to give me enough time to try and trigger my memory.
I tried to do various things and put myself into situations to see if anything would trigger the correct course’s vision, but nothing was working and I was growing frustrated with myself.
Face it, there was a lot of pressure, and I felt that every minute I wasted was another second Sonic and Knuckles had to suffer under the fake G.U.N shadowy forms and the Shadow look-a-like.
Finally, I hit my head with a rock as a last resort but was quickly pulled away by Tails, “Amy!”
“Stop it, that isn’t helping!” Silver quickly intercepted too, yanking the rock out of my hands.
“I... I don’t know what else to do...” I admitted, feeling I was losing grip of my faith in myself... I may have been able to spare Sonic before, but now..?
Was this completely out of my control?
“Anytime now, fellas!” Knuckles called out as we both turned to see Sonic and Knuckles shoving themselves against Shadow’s dark, rippling body that almost looked like wavy flames under a watery scope. He was taking steps forward, which caused their feet to grind against the earth in an attempt to hold him back.
Then G.U.N appeared behind us, and we were surrounded... When the bullets began to fire, my eyes widened and the light of the Master Emerald grew from my eyes.
My other self was rescued once more by Sonic, but he was hit by those odd galaxy alternating bullets. He fell by her side and twitched, making her get up and cry over him as the bullets expanded holes in his form, and as he looked up at her, the holes overtook him and he turned into a rewritten, shadowy figure that reached for her.
She gasped and was pulled away by another, younger Knuckles with a cowboy hat on, who said something I couldn’t hear as my visions didn’t have sound, and threw her to a smaller Tails, who caught her and flew with her into another portal as the two left the other Knuckles behind with the shadowy images of Sonic, G.U.N, and Shadow...
“NOOO!!!” I came out of the vision and turned to where Sonic was coming at me, already having jumped and about to reach me.
I knew if I didn’t let these events happen, we’d be trapped, but every part of me wanted to jump into Sonic’s arms and push him back, let myself be the one that was swallowed up in the rewritten darkness.
But by then, I knew it wasn’t--and shouldn’t--be called a rewritten reality.
It was erasing reality! There seemed to be a hive-mind I picked up on, the force was controlling my friends and Eggman, G.U.N even!
Not just that, but I didn’t know if we’d be able to save Sonic. I thought nothing could overcome Sonic... I was so torn, but as I focused on his eyes... so determined to get me out of harm’s way... I couldn’t find it in my heart to move.
He was shot and rolled along the ground with me as he I held him, tears spraying from my eyes in an army of resistance. I clung to him, crying out his name as he flinched and tried to fight against the erasing darkness that would soon overwhelm his being and turn him into a mindless drone to whatever force was trying to take over time and our known reality.
“Noo!!!” I screamed out as Sonic told Knuckles to take me from him, and as he turned to fight Shadow, was fully overcome and went limp. “SOOONNICCC!!!”
Knuckles had ripped me from him and threw me to Tails, instructing him that he’d stay behind to look after Sonic while Tails and Silver got through to the next part or stage of this timeline.
Silver had to grip my head and take my line of sight off of Sonic’s shadowy form as it turned almost like a zombie towards me, tilting it’s head as the drones somehow knew I carried the Master Emerald’s power to connect to the other dimension.
“Amy! Listen to me!” Silver began, but I felt I had died inside. My voice escaped my lungs and there was nothing left in me. I... had become motionless... I didn’t stop Sonic... I... I didn’t deserve him...
What kind of woman, who claimed to love her hero so full-heartedly, would have froze up when the time to save him drew near?
“I don’t deserve him...” My headache couldn’t match the absolute obliteration of my soul and heart from within me. Like those rapidly twirling away pieces of the world we had journeyed through moments before. “I... Sonic...!” I didn’t deserve to call myself Sonic’s destined love... if I couldn’t even protect him when I knew what was about to happen.
“He was too fast, Amy, there’s nothing you could have done.” Tails held me closer to him, seeing my shaking eyes and the pain in trying to speak when I felt my entire ribcage had collapsed and took the compartments of my lungs and lifeforce with it.
“Amy, please, remember, this can all be rewritten.” Silver had placed his two hands to the sides of my face, seeing how broken I was and failing to grasp this reality.
My head twitched up, but I was hollow inside.
“You have to tell us what to do. What did you see? Where do we go?!” He urged, trying to be kind, but... “We can’t save him now! He’ll be alright, you have to trust in your vision! Please, Amy! The more time you spend silent the more time Sonic has to suffer!”
What was the point..? Without Sonic... Without him, I-... I had no meaning to my life anymore. Sonic was everything to me... he was my whole world... a reality without Sonic... in a universe where I couldn’t see him smiling... couldn’t hear his laughter and teasing expression... A world without his warm touch...
My mind went back to when Sonic had placed his hand to my arm, his words... “It didn’t need to come to this point... It didn’t need to be so fueled...”
My eyes blazed with a new purpose. I wasn’t just going to save my dimension. I was going to save my Sonic!
I cried out and struggled to get Silver’s hands off my face, then pointed Tails to the portal that was opening behind us. “There! Go! Now!”
I saw and witnessed first hand the torment the other dimensional, more tender, younger and naïve me struggle to gain the strength to continue forward, till her and her friends found sanctuary at the end.
By this time, I had spent all of what I felt was in me, and fell to my knees as I had fought the dark entity known as World Keeper, who was polluted by the filth of negativity in all the worlds... that hive mind was just swallowing the world in despair, and without ever being hit by it, I felt it more than ever too.
Then it slashed it, and I felt the darkness swallowing me as my color turned black with the light glimmer of inky stars within it’s slick obsidian...
I fell back and couldn’t feel myself hit the ground, I couldn’t feel anything anymore but emptiness...
As it overtook me, I wondered with my last, conscious thoughts if the other dimensional me had saved Sonic... was this the end of our universe? Or just the entrapment of one dimension?
Then...
“Don’t give up!”
S...Sonic?
“You have what it takes, use the power of the Chaos Emeralds!”
S...Shadow?
“I didn’t blast this stupid filth out of the sky only to be controlled into an everlasting misery by it!!!”
Eggman..?
“I’m not staying stuck in this feeling forever! Come on, Amy! You can do this-grraaahh!!!”
Knuckles...
Drifting into the blackness of the void, I suddenly felt four strong hands trying to force me upwards towards the light.
It slowed my decent, until Silver and Tails were able to reach out and grab me, and my last vision surfaced with the dizzy spell.
Rosy... she was also drifting into despair before Robotnik and Sonic reached through their own controlled misery by the World Keeper and used the last of their hope to push her out...
I tried to strain as best as I could through the dizzy, blurry vision and move my hand up towards them.
Her vision and mine suddenly conjoined, and I saw younger Tails flash continuously between Silver and my dimension’s Tails too.
I spoke out to her... “We can still save everyone...” I encouraged, “We... can’t give in... to hopelessness!”
I felt our hearts merge into one, felt our power soar as though we were evolving into a new creature that had it’s life sparked into existence again.
Newly hatched into this feeling of easiness, peace, and strength beyond my understanding... I grabbed Tails and Silver’s hands and swung out, the darkness that was once overcoming me suddenly burst with light and the seven Chaos Emeralds floated around us.
“Ah! She didn’t fuse with them!” Silver blurted out, seeing them swarm both him and Tails too.
“She... was storing them!” Tails exclaimed.
I guess I had become somewhat of their server and carrier... there power was just kept safe in me... through the Master Emerald and my unique connection to the other me.
We fought and as we did, I touched the ground and brought my friends and all the dimensions who had succumb to the negativity out from the inky blanket of darkness and restored their light and hope through the power being expelled from me.
No longer was I a guide.
I was a redeeming light now.
Sonic, Shadow, and Silver all burst into Super form, and together--with all the other worlds we loved so dearly too--we put an end to World Keeper and with me and my other self touching his chest as he was about to fall back into the his own making of the void, he immediately returned to a smaller form of another being.
Sonic suddenly cried out, “Chip!” and darted into the void after him.
I waited... weeks and weeks did I wait for him...
I clung to my chest as though clinging to my heart, refusing to let it break, and keeping it all together again.
I didn’t have visions anymore, but I could feel something... Something like the despair of the void was created from that feeling of loss and loneliness when Chip’s essence left the core of the earth and became free roaming in space...
Tails said he had a theory, that Chip’s body was still with Dark Gaia, but his power had escaped in longing to reunite with Sonic, his friend, again.
Traveling through space and time without a body, it became depressed, and expelled it’s world-bending powers to try and find Sonic... ending up losing itself and taking all worlds and dimensions it was searching through down with it.
A comet of bright golden light shot down through the cosmos, and I eagerly dropped everything to race out my door and pursue it, I knew from the green, red, and white lights that covered the world that Chip’s soul and powers returned to their slumber... and brought back Sonic safely to us as well!
“Sonic..!” My heart could barely contain it’s joy as I raced over the hills to follow his light... before having it sink and my hands fling up to the sides of my face when I saw him hit the water off in the distance of the sea. “No, Sonic!!! You can’t swim!!”
The distance was too far, but I swam anyway, feeling my exhaustion from having traveled miles and miles already on land before seeing him fall into the ocean.
He was covered in a light I assumed was Chip’s planet power, and I held my breath and swam down to him, heard a voice in my mind calling to me...
“Sorry for all the trouble I caused, Amy... Take good care of Sonic from now on. I won’t be lonely without him anymore... I know I may never see him again, especially when I wake up many, many years from now... but even still, the moments I had with him in the void of space and time, and with our time facing Dark Gaia, will always be in my heart... Thank you for letting me see him, one last time...”
The floating ball of light around him slowly brought Sonic up to me, and when I entered it, I took a deep breath and fell limply over his body, floating with him up to the surface.
He opened his eyes and smiled at me, winking without a word but it still gave me so much comfort and peace.
It was as though he was saying everything would be alright now... and Chip’s remaining spatial power set us down on the shoreline... as the waves met us as we took a much deserved rest on the cool sands... the sun rose up and the sounds of helicopters and people were surrounding us, but we remained sleeping soundly next to one another...
Sonic’s warm hand... laying gently over my stomach...
Mine upon his heart.
G.U.N’s windy interruption causing us both to sneeze as Silver appeared and held out both his hands to stop them from investigating, explaining as we drifted off into our dreams~

Fate and Phantasms #169

Two builds in one day? That’s right! Today’s my birthday, and that means I get to pick the servants! As a birthday gift to myself, we’re making Caster of the Nightless City! As usual, expect spoilers in the build breakdown below the cut and in their character sheet here!
Scheherazade is a Creation Bard to truly bring her stories to life, and a Genie Warlock to create her own Bedchamber of Survival.
Race and Background
Wildly, Scheherazade is a Human, giving her +1 to all abilities. She’s also a Guild Artisan with one of the most demanding patrons in the world, giving her proficiency with Insight and Persuasion.
Ability Scores
Your Charisma better be as high as possible, you’re literally famous for your storytelling skills. After that is Wisdom. Anyone can read a story, but to tell a story you’ve got to be able to read the audience. Your Intelligence is also pretty good, because let’s be honest, remembering over 1,000 stories is pretty goddamn impressive. Your Dexterity isn’t awful, because we need to be able to go from standing to dogeza in seconds. This means your Constitution and Strength are rather low. Sadly, telling stories doesn’t make you all that battle hardened.
Class Levels
1. Bard 1: Being a bard gives you proficiency with Dexterity and Charisma saves to avoid fireballs and being banished to other dimensions. (Though I guess banishment is better than death?) You also get proficiency in three bard skills, that is to say, three of any skill. Performance for storytelling, Acrobatics for faster dogezas, and History for more story material.
You can use Bardic Inspiration to give a d6 to an ally Charisma Mod times per long rest, and these dice can be added to pretty much any d20 roll to make it a bit better. (Not yours though, heaven forbid you have to get out there and... attack things.)
Speaking of not attacking things, let’s talk Spells. You cast em with Charisma, and get stuff like Blade Ward for taking less damage and Friends for convincing people to let you live in the first place. You also get Charm Person for a similar reason, Bane to weaken their offense if they still want to try anything, Feather Fall to avoid death by heights, and Silent Image for the first of your storied illusions.
2. Bard 2: Second level bards become Jacks of All Trades, adding half their proficiency to ability checks they’re not proficient in. By becoming more useful, you’re less likely to get killed! Probably. You also get a Song of Rest to boost healing during short rests. Healing is good, healing helps people not die. Finally, your Magical Inspiration lets allies add your inspiration dice to damage or healing caused by spells. Again, healing is good, and I guess doing more damage can be nice sometimes.
Speaking of doing damage, we’re not doing that. Instead, grab Sleep for a bedtime story.
3. Bard 3: Graduating from the college of Creation will help you bring your stories to life thanks to your Performance of Creation. As an action you can create a nonmagical object once per long rest or by spending a 2nd level spell slot. The item must be medium or smaller, and can only be worth at most 20 times your bard level in GP.
You can also help your allies star in legends of their own with Stories of Potential that add extra effects to your bardic inspiration depending on how they’re used. Ability checks get advantage on rolling the inspiration, attack rolls deal thunder damage to nearby creatures if they fail a constitution save, and saving throws add temporary HP to their users.
You can also cast Calm Emotions to keep the king from beheading you in the morning.
4. Warlock 1: Now that that’s taken care of, let’s get some help from a Genie. Picking this patron gives you a Genie’s Vessel, a tiny object like, say, a scroll case, within which you can find a Bottled Respite that you can hang out in for up to 2x your proficiency bonus hours per long rest, but you can only enter once per long rest. Any items you leave behind stay in the respite until the vessel is destroyed or you take them out again. Also, I gotta remember to point out the inside is bigger than the outside, space isn’t an issue for you.
You also learn to imbue your attacks with a Genie’s Wrath, adding thunder damage equal to your proficiency bonus to one attack per turn. You don’t really attack that much, but it’s nice to make every bit count.
Speaking of attacking, you can actually do that with your new Spells! You still use Charisma, but you have Pact Magic, so these slots don’t mix with your old ones. The plus side is they recharge on short rests instead of long ones, and you can still cast bard spells with warlock slots and vice versa.
You get Minor Illusion for cheap lifelike stories, as well as Eldritch Blast for the ever-present caster balls. For first level spells, you get Detect Evil and Good and Thunderwave for free, as well as Comprehend Languages because copyright doesn’t exist in D&D, and Protection from Evil and Good. Some kings are evil, some are good, but very few are neutral. (WARNING: does not actually protect against good or evil aligned humanoids)
5. Warlock 2: Second level warlocks get Eldritch Invocations, ways to customize the selling your soul experience. Armor of Shaodws gives you free mage armor to avoid dying, and Eldritch Mind makes it easier to concentrate on your spells, which are keeping you from getting killed.
Speaking of spells, Sense Emotion lets you read the prevailing emotion of a nearby creature as an action, and you can repeat the action each turn. Good storytelling requires you know what your audience wants.
6. Warlock 3: Third level warlocks get a Pact Boon, and Pact of the Tome gives you a super cool magic scroll that gives you three cantrips from any spell list. You get Guidance and Resistance for added protection, and Mage Hand. Handling hot objects can be dangerous! Now you don’t have to do that.
Besides that, you get second level spells here, like Enthrall. Being the center of attention is dangerous, but you’re the most personable member of the party, so this might be less dangerous than letting them talk. You also get Phantasmal Force and Gust of Wind for free, letting you attack with fictional characters and just make things a bit more dramatic.
7. Warlock 4: At fourth level you finally get your first Ability Score Improvement, which will be used to round up your Dexterity and Constitution for a higher AC and higher HP. Not dying’s good, you should try it out.
You also get Prestidigitation to add minor effects to your stories, and Flock of Familiars to summon background characters.
8. Warlock 5: Fifth level warlocks get third level spells, like Major Image to make larger effects for your stories. You also get Create Food and Water and Wind Wall for free.
On top of that, the invocation One with Shadows lets you turn invisible as an action in dim light or darker, and lasts until you move or take an action. When a truly good storyteller gets going, the story takes on a life of its own, and they just sort of... fade into the background.
9. Warlock 6: Sixth level genilocks get an Elemental Gift, giving you resistance to thunder damage. Like Cursed Arm always says, you can’t travel the desert without protection from wind. As a bonus action, you can now fly for 10 minutes Proficiency times per long rest. Admittedly you don’t really do that too often, but I’m sure you can illusion up a big genie hand or something to lift you up.
You can also summon a main character now thanks to Summon Fey. You can create a small fey creature in one of three moods that can teleport around and fight for you. Fuming fey get advantage on attacks after teleporting, mirthful fey can charm creatures, and tricksy fey create magical darkness which you can use to turn invisible.
10. Warlock 7: Congrats on your fourth level spell slots! Your freebie spells are Phantasmal Killer and Greater Invisibility to put less focus on yourself and more focus on the terrifying monsters you can summon. You can also use Hallucinatory Terrain to reshape the world into the world of your story. You can also use Trickster’s Escape once per long rest to cast Freedom of Movement on yourself to get the hell out of dangerous situations.
11. Warlock 8: Use this ASI to bump up your Charisma for better spells and better stories. You also learn how to Charm Monsters to avoid even more danger by just... getting along with everything.
12. Warlock 9: Ninth level warlocks get fifth level spells, like the freebies Creation to make even more nonsense out of nothing and Seeming to again, avoid danger. On top of those, you can use Modify Memory to retcon your stories to prevent your audience from getting too upset. You also gain the Gift of the Protectors, allowing you or another creature to write its name on part of your scroll. The scroll can hold the names of Proficiency people, and once per long rest the first creature to drop to 0 hp sticks around at 1 hp instead. You can also erase names if you have a falling out, but since it’s first come first served you might just want to keep this to yourself.
13. Warlock 10: Tenth level genielocks get a Sanctuary Vessel, allowing you to take up to 5 willing creatures into your Genie’s Vessel with you. You can eject creatures as a bonus action, by leaving yourself, dying (don’t do that one), or by destroying the vessel.
On top of all of that, creatures that stay in the vessel for at least 10 minutes get all the benefits of a short rest, plus they add your proficiency to any healing they get from hit dice. That’s on top of the d6 they were already getting from your song of rest.
Oh right, you get another cantrip too. Grab Blade Ward again. You can never be too careful.
14. Bard 4: Yeah, did you think we were done with bards? Nope! This level of bard gives us another ASI that’ll max out your Charisma for the best spells possible!
You also learn Message, because miscommunication can be deadly, and Lesser Restoration. You never know what kind of status effects might doom your party, after all...
15. Bard 5: Fifth level bards get their inspiration bumped up to d8s, and they finally become a Font of Inspiration to recharge their inspiration on short rests. I wanted to get sanctuary vessel as quickly as possible for the sake of getting your bedchamber of survival, but it’s awfully tempting to put these two levels earlier, ngl.
You also learn how to Feign Death, because nobody’s going to bother killing you if you’re already dead, right? This spell makes you or the targeted creature effectively dead by the reckoning of anyone around them. They can’t take actions, are blinded, and can’t move. They get resistance to all damage except psychic, and any diseases or poisons they’re affected by are frozen until the spell ends an hour later.
16. Bard 6: Sixth level bards can use Countercharm to protect their party from effects that would charm or frighten them, giving them advantage on those saves for a round.
You can also put on an Animating Performance to turn a large or smaller object into a Dancing Item, which follows your orders, given by your bonus action. You can do this once per long rest, or by spending a third level spell slot.
Your last bard spell is Catnap, putting up to three creatures to sleep for 10 minutes. If they stay asleep the entire time, they get the benefits of a short rest. Dying of overwork... what a horrifying concept.
17. Warlock 11: At eleventh level, instead of getting your spell slots made bigger you get a Mystic Arcanum, allowing you to cast a sixth level spell once per long rest. Guards and Wards is very useful if you’re paranoid, creating wards to protect up to 2,500 square feet of space (a.k.a. 100 5′ squares). You can specify creatures that are immune to effects, or a password that does the same thing.
In corridors, fog fills the area, and forks in the road have a 50% chance of forcing creatures down the wrong way.
Doors are magically locked, and up to 10 doors in the area can be covered by illusions.
Stairs are covered in Webs that regrow when destroyed.
You can also place: Dancing Lights in four corridors, Magic Mouth in two places, Stinking Cloud in two places, Gust of Wind in one corridor or room, and Suggestion in one five foot square.
Casting Guards and Wards in the same place every day for a year makes it permanent.
18. Warlock 12: Use your last ASI to bump up your Constitution for better concentration and health. You also learn your last Invocation, Minions of Chaos! Once per long rest you can cast Conjure Elemental using a warlock spell slot. It is a little bit risky, but even you have to be willing to stick your neck out at some point. Might as well be level 18.
19. Warlock 13: Your seventh level Mystic Arcanum is Mirage Arcane, allowing you to reshape reality in a square mile, altering the entire terrain to your story and even making entire structures out of nothing. Even creatures with true sight will still feel the illusion, so feel free to recreate the tower of babel and hide out on the top of it.
20. Warlock 14: Your capstone level gives you a Limited Wish from your patron, recreating any spell of fifth level or lower once per 1d4 long rests. Sometimes your story just needs a Maelstrom, and nobody’s going to wait for you to take 9 levels of druid just to finish a story.
Pros:
If your DM rewards creativity and you’ve got the mind thoughts to power this build, this build will treat you very nicely. This whole thing is basically an excuse for the roleplayer inside of you to ham up your acting, chew the scenery, and distract everyone from the rogue rifling through their pockets.
Speaking of distractions you can make some really good ones. Show up to the BBEG’s lair, butter them up with some stories, then trick them into entering your vessel, and then they’re trapped in there for up to 12 hours. If you can trick them into allowing you to catnap them, that gives the rest of your party a full 10 minutes to ransack the place before they even know what’s happening. You can always kick them out if they’re being unwelcome guests, but there’s no way for them to leave on their own outside of killing you. And that’s easier said than done, because...
You’re really hard to fight. Between all the illusions, summoning creatures to fight on your behalf, the invisibility, and the altering reality in a mile radius, landing a blow on you is an ordeal, especially if you know they’re coming.
Cons:
If you’re actually stuck in a cage match with an enemy it’s gonna take a while, because you really aren’t built for damage. You have a negative strength stat, and your first damaging spell doesn’t show up until level four. Just bring them into the vessel, help them relax, and put them to sleep with catnap, that’s way less work than actually fighting them.
On a similar note, anything that can see through your illusions is going to cut through you like butter, because you’re pretty squishy. Only 15 AC and just shy of 150 HP means you should avoid fights like... well, you do in canon.
Another side effect of your squishiness is that your concentration saves aren’t that great, which is really bad for an illusionist/summoner. Neither your animated item nor your invisibility use concentration though, so you can actually get away with more than you’d think, it’s just a complicated juggling act. And trust me, you do not want to drop them in the middle of combat.

5e Fluttershy, the Element of Kindness build (My Little Pony: FIM)
Tumblr media
(Artwork by SophiesPlushies on DeviantArt.)
Tumblr media
Like, it took me a solid 5 minutes to find the first image in this post and I had to sift through so much softcore porn to find it. I didn’t even find it by searching DeviantArt I had to go on fucking derpibooru oh my lord.
Anyways: here’s another shit brony build because people don’t hate me enough! Well that and I do genuinely love the characters from My Little Pony, and think that they’d be fun to make builds for. But feel free to call me a garbage brony at your leisure.
These are the words of a man who has been beaten down after being a brony for around 10 years.
GOALS
I'm just good with animals - Fluttershy talks to animals. That’s one of the main things she does really.
I'm doing this because you're my very best friend - As the element of kindness we of course need to share our heart and soul with our friends.
Nopony pushes new Fluttershy around! - MLP Wiki makes an express point of mentioning The Stare in Fluttershy’s powers, so of course we’ll do our best to include that.
RACE
Before you say anything no I’m not a pegasi stan just because I did both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Regardless Aaracokra still makes the most sense for Fluttershy unfortunately because there’s few bird races and fewer flying races.
As an Aaracokra you +2 to Dexterity and +1 to Wisdom which we’ll be keeping because I don’t know if your DM will allow Tasha’s rules. You also get 50 feet of Flight but you can’t be wearing Medium or Heavy Armor to do this, which means I don’t get to say “something something Medium Armor.” And finally you can buck someone to deal damage equal to a d4 plus your Strength; technically their Talons which deal slashing damage but feel free to view them however you want.
If I was to build Fluttershy I’d honestly use the Owlfolk UA race (which will hopefully be out in Wild Beyond the Witchlight and / or Strixhaven) for a multitude of reasons, the most notable of which being the fact that you can fly with Medium armor as an Owlfolk. But the Detect Magic Ritual ability is also nice as is the reaction to stop yourself from falling. Unfortunately Aaracokra technically made more sense since Fluttershy can’t detect magic.
Basically even I have to make choices which are suboptimal in order to ensure maximum roleplay, and even when I play my builds I change them to make them better to play.
ABILITY SCORES
15; WISDOM - You are compassionate and good with animals: both those things are Wisdom skills!
14; DEXTERITY - Since I can’t go “something something medium armor” for this build (yay Aaracokra) I guess getting a 16 in DEX thanks to your race is a good call. If playing an Owlfolk or something you can afford to having 14 total in DEX, as you can then wear medium armor.
13; CONSTITUTION - Look, roleplay stats are great and all but so is not dying.
12; CHARISMA - You are cute small pony... bird... Pony-bird...
10; INTELLIGENCE - Most of your time was spent taking care of animals and most of your knowledge comes from on-hand training as opposed to studying. Basically you’re not Twilight.
8; STRENGTH - As a young filly Rainbow Dash would do most of the heavy lifting for you. As a young mare Rainbow Dash still does most the heavy lifting for you. She is a Barbarian after all!
BACKGROUND
Most ponies know to come to you if their pets are in trouble, and if you’ve ever had pets you know the doctor that helps them is a true Folk Hero. As a Folk Hero you get proficiency in Animal Handling (yay) but I’d swap the Survival proficiency out for Stealth because well... you’re very good at hiding. You also get proficiency with Land Vehicles (most Land Vehicles in D&D are controlled by animals; usually horses! Wait... aren’t you a horse?) and an Artisan’s Tool of your choice: go for Carpenter’s Tools to make some bird houses and chicken coops!
After living in Ponyville for so long most ponies are willing to give you some Rustic Hospitality, giving you a warm place to rest and recover... as long as you can get over your crippling shyness! Eep!

THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - CLERIC 1
Starting off as a Cleric because I thought Wisdom and Charisma saves were more fitting for Fluttershy, and for the Insight and Medicine skill proficiencies.
As a Cleric you get to choose your subclass at level 1, and there’s nothing you love more than a little bit of Peace and quiet. As a Peace Cleric you get proficiency in Performance thanks to Implement of Peace, for those great MLP song numbers. But more importantly you can call on the power of friendship for an Emboldening Bond!
As an action, you choose a number of friends within 30 feet of you (this can include yourself) equal to your proficiency bonus. Your friendship bonds them together for 10 minutes or until you use this feature again. While any bonded creature is within 30 feet of another they get a d4 they can add to an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw once per turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
And finally we can talk about the Spellcasting! You get three cantrips from the Cleric list at level 1: Guidance is always welcome among friends, and Spare the Dying can be a literal life safer! Other than that you are still expected to fight in D&D so take Sacred Flame to defend yourself. You can also prepare a number of spells equal to your Cleric level plus your Wisdom modifier. As a Peace Domain Cleric you can inspire Heroism among your friends, or protect yourself (and hide!) with Sanctuary.
Other than that Healing Word is a staple healing spell (we aren’t taking Cure Wounds right now for reasons but feel free to prepare it), Shield of Faith will let you defend your allies, Protection from Evil and Good will help you invoke the Elements of Harmony against the big bad of the season, and Detect Evil and Good will help you find the Elements of Harmony!
You could also take Bless, but I’m not going to tell you to take Bless because optimizers would crucify me for telling you to double up on d4s.
LEVEL 2 - CLERIC 2
Second level Clerics get their Channel Divinity once per short rest and you have a variety of options to choose from:
Turn Undead will make skeletons and zombies not want to hurt the cute little ponies, which will force them to run away for awhile.
Balm of Peace (the main reason we took the second level in Cleric) will let you run around and heal all your friends for 2d6 plus your Wisdom modifier.
And Harness Divine Power (ty Tasha’s) will let you recover a spell slot, but can only be used a limited amount of times per Long Rest.
You can also prepare another spell and be a little less nice with Command. Telling your enemies to “LOVE” isn’t going to be that effective, but making them grovel or drop works just as fine.
LEVEL 3 - RANGER 1
When you spend enough time around animals you’re automatically either a Ranger or a Druid. Quinn? Never heard of ‘em. Regardless multiclassing into Ranger gives you proficiency in a skill from the Ranger list and it’s good to know about Nature so you can find plants to help your fluffy buddies! Deft Explorer also gives you two language proficiencies (again: pick your poison) and Expertise in a skill. You’ll never guess which skill we’ll be getting... it’s Animal Handling. You’re good with animals.
We actually aren’t going to be taking Favored Foe because we aren’t using weapons for one, but more importantly despite it’s name Favored Enemy is also good for tracking friends! You have advantage on Survival checks to track your favored “enemies”, as well as on Intelligence checks to recall information about them. Go for Beasts to easily find a feathered or fluffy friend! Oh and you also get more languages because I don’t know why, so again pick your poison.
LEVEL 4 - RANGER 2
Second level Rangers get their Fighting Style, or as I like to call it your Helping Style because we’ll be going for Druidic Warrior! You can pick up two cantrips from the Druid list: I opted for Druidcraft (you can grow some flowers for your friends; yay!) and Mending to tend to your cottage.
And of course with cantrips we also get more Spellcasting! You can learn two spells from the Druid list: you’re never not going to want Cure Wounds (which is why we didn’t take it earlier btw) and Animal Friendship is an obvious must.
LEVEL 5 - RANGER 3
Third level Rangers get to choose their Ranger Archetype and we’ll be going for the Gloomsta- Ah you all know it’s going to be Beast Master. You get a Ranger’s Companion not from the PHB but from Tasha’s! The Beast of Land would make the most sense and while it’s probably expected that they be a wolf or something you can pretend that you’re playing Fighting is Magic and have Angel Bunny fight for you! Anyways here’s a crash course on your new fluffy friend:
Their AC is equal to 13 plus your proficiency bonus (currently 16.)
Their health is equal to 5 + five times your Ranger level (currently 20) and they have a number of d8 hit die equal to your Ranger level.
They have a 40 foot movement speed and a 40 foot climbing speed.
You can command it to attack with your bonus action; it has the same hit chance as your spell hit chance (WIS mod + Prof Bonus [currently 6]) and deals a d8 + 2 + prof bonus damage.
If they move at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hit with an attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 1d6 slashing damage and must make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC (if they’re a creature.) If they fail they’re knocked prone.
You can command the beast to attack, dash, disengage, or hide with your bonus action.
If you don’t command it they take the dodge action.
You can revive them with a spell of first level or higher 1 hour after they die, and can change your beast after a long rest.
Man, who knew that taking care of a pet was so difficult? Well you also get Primeval Awareness (because Primal Awareness actually doesn’t work that well for this build.) You can use your action and one spell slot to sense the following types of creatures within 1 mile of you: aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead. This lasts for one minute, and doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.
And you learn another spell: Goodberry is good to feed yourself and all your friends! As long as they’re okay with eating berries, of course. C’mon... they’re good for you! Pleeeease?
Tumblr media
(Artwork by AssasinMonkey on DeviantArt.)
LEVEL 6 - RANGER 4
Finally an Ability Score Improvement... or Feat? We’ll be going for Eldritch Adept, which is admittedly weird but it’s the only way to get Beast Speech so you can Speak with Animals at will! Is total level 6 a little late to finally be able to speak with animals? Yeah, but this is unlimited so it fits better and doesn’t spend your spell slots.
LEVEL 7 - CLERIC 3
Finally back to Cleric land which means finally we can prepare some second level spells! As a Peace domain Cleric you automatically get Aid and Warding Bond prepared, both of which are very good for keeping your friends alive. You can also finally get Hold Person to finally have The Stare!
LEVEL 8 - CLERIC 4
Level 4 in Cleric means another Ability Score Improvement: Wisdom is still your core stat so increasing that by 2 would be your best choice.
You also get another cantrip at this level, and can prepare two more spells! For cantrips I’d recommend Light to see with your dumb bird eyes unless you’re an Owlfolk, and I’d recommend preparing Lesser Restoration and Enhance Ability to further boost your friends.
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Koveliana on DeviantArt.)
LEVEL 9 - CLERIC 5
5th level Clerics can now Destroy Undead of CR 1/2 or lower with their Channel Divinity. Don’t feel too bad about it; they were big dumb meanies anyways!
You can also prepare third level spells too! As a Peace Domain Cleric you get Beacon of Hope to help with healing, and Spike can send letters out for you with Sending. You can also prepare Dispel Magic in case Twilight needs help with more dangerous spells.
LEVEL 10 - CLERIC 6
6th level Peace Clerics get Protective Bond. When a creature affected by your Emboldening Bond is about to take damage, another bonded creature within 30 feet of the first can use its reaction to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the first creature. That creature then takes all the damage instead. It’s worth mentioning that since this specifies “creature” you can actually bond with your beast companion and have it use its reaction, or have others go in to defend angel.
You can also prepare another third level spell like Revivify, so you don’t lose any friends. And to top it off you can use your Channel Divinity twice per short rest! Woohoo!
LEVEL 11 - CLERIC 7
7th level Cleric, 4th level spells. As a Peace Domain Cleric you get Aura of Purity to protect your friends, and Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere to put your enemies in time out. You can also prepare another spell like Freedom of Movement, in case you need to run!
LEVEL 12 - CLERIC 8
8th level Clerics get a variety of features. To start off you get an Ability Score Improvement, which means we can finally cap off your Wisdom for maximum spellcasting! This also means you can prepare more spells, but we’re actually going to hold off on getting more spells for now.
You can also put a little more LOVE into your spells with Potent Spellcasting, adding your Wisdom modifier to the damage of your Cleric cantrips. And finally your Channel Divinity will now Destroy Undead or CR 1 or lower.
LEVEL 13 - CLERIC 9
The reason we held off on getting more Cleric spells last level is because now we get those big 5th level spells! As a Peace Domain Cleric you can help your friends out of any jam with Greater Restoration, and know what they really mean to say thanks to Rary’s Telepathic Bond.
You can also prepare some of those big hitter spells like Mass Cure Wounds to save your friends, and you can cast both Dawn and Summon Celestial to call on Celestia herself! Isn’t that Twilight’s job? Well, it’s still good to have contacts!
Tumblr media
(Artwork by CigarsCigarettes on DeviantArt.)
LEVEL 14 - RANGER 5
Now that we’ve got all the support we could need for our friends it’s time to return to our roots and focus on Angel! Feel free to focus more on Ranger instead of Cleric if you so desire when building this yourself; I simply opted for more healing instead of damage.
We’re finally 5th level with Ranger which finally means you’ll be getting an Extra Attack!... Which you probably won’t use because you can use cantrips instead. Well it’s still nice to have?
The good thing though is that you can learn more Ranger spells like Healing Spirit, which is a really strong healing spell that was kinda gutted by erratas. But it’s still nice and efficient regardless of what spell slot you casted it at, effectively being a 6d6 heal for a second level spell slot!
LEVEL 15 - RANGER 6
6th level Rangers can now add Roving to their list of skills from Deft Explorer. Your movement speed increases by 5 feet, and you get both a climbing and swimming speed equal to your walking speed. Is total level 15 a little late to get a 30 foot movement speed? Yeah probably, but every little bit helps!
Speaking of another little bit you get another Favored Enemy... I mean friend! ...I don’t know pick whatever you think will be relevant for the campaign. Also yes: you do get more languages, because Ranger.
LEVEL 16 - RANGER 7
7th level Beast Masters have Exceptional Training with their Animal Companion. You can use a bonus action to command the beast to take the Dash, Disengage, or Help action on its turn... which you could already do anyways thanks to Tasha’s.
I’d say that after Tasha’s this feature would work even if you don’t command your beast, but as always discuss the rules with your DM.
Well at least Angel’s attacks count as magical to overcome resistances, which is good because you were probably dealing with nonmagical resistance for awhile now.
You can also prepare another spell like Pass Without Trace, so you and your friends can sneak around unseen. Pass Without Trace is one of those spells that is always useful regardless of what level you are, so picking it up now is still useful!
LEVEL 17 - RANGER 8
8th level Rangers get another Ability Score Improvement. You’ve probably noticed our uneven Constitution score by this point: yeah that was because we were going to grab Resilient Constitution at some point. Increasing your CON gives you a nice +17 to your health and makes your Constitution saves (and concentration saves!) a +8 total.
You’ve also spent so much time on the ground moving through nonmagical difficult terrain costs you no extra movement thanks to Land’s Stride. You can also pass through nonmagical plants without being slowed by them or taking damage from them. Additionally, you have advantage on saving throws against plants that are magically created or manipulated to impede movement. You may be able to fly but that doesn’t mean being able to move on the ground isn’t useful!
Tumblr media
(Artwork by AssasinMonkey on DeviantArt.)
LEVEL 18 - RANGER 9
9th level Rangers can learn third level spells, and you’ve probably spent enough time training with Rainbow Dash by this point to make a Wind Wall to protect your friends! (Basically the Ranger spell list sucks and we’re only really going down Ranger still for more subclass features.)
LEVEL 19 - RANGER 10
You get a new feature from Deft Explorer at this level: you are now Tireless! As an action you can give yourself a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d8 plus your Wisdom modifier (so 5.) You can use this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Additionally whenever you finish a short rest your exhaustion level is decreased by 1.
You’re also a master of avoiding social interaction. Nature’s Veil lets you turn invisible as a Bonus Action until the start of your next turn. You can also use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
LEVEL 20 - RANGER 11
11th level Beast Masters can invoke Bestial Fury! With 11 level in Ranger and 20 total levels in this build your Animal Companion can now... attack twice! Look Beast Master is playable now, I never said it was good.
At least you can learn one last Ranger spell: in your ultimate stand against darkness Daylight will help you banish the dark! ...Or something. Look again: the Ranger spell list sucks.
FINAL BUILD
PROS
You do not hurt my friends! You got that? - Even with the multiclassing you still get spell slots up to 7th level, and have more than enough magic to shake a stick at. Not to mention that Angel will always be by your side to pump out a bit more damage with your Bonus Action!
You’re the cutest thing ever - Maxed out Wisdom was rather expected from a Cleric, but Expertise in Animal Handling combined with unlimited Beast Speech means that you can easily make friends with any beast you come across! Just make sure your DM is okay with you giving a hydra belly rubs.
Whatever you wanna do is fine... - You’ve got quite a good mix of features that will help you both in and out of combat, meaning that there’s plenty that your friends can rely on you to help with! In fact there’s a lot of things that only you can do as a Ranger which are quite helpful!
CONS
You’re such a loudmouth... - Most of your class resources only come back after a Long Rest, with only your Channel Divinity coming back after a Short Rest. You’re still plenty capable with just Angel by your side but don’t spend everything in one fight, or else you’ll be left with nothing but Sacred Flame and Animal Companion attacks.
Are you coughing because... - So let’s talk about Angel: even with 11 levels in Ranger they’re not great. AC of 19 is pretty good but they’ll probably max out around 60 HP. Your average Wizard will have more HP than this by level 20. Two maul attacks will do decent damage but you could get equal value out of Spiritual Weapon, and you only get the second attack with Angel at total build level 20. And yeah for most of this build Angel is going to be sitting around 25 max HP, meaning they’re likely to go down a lot. Aid can help keep your pets healthy and happy but don’t be upset when your level 4 Ranger companion keeps going down.
Awful, just awful! - We kinda miss the best of both worlds for the sake of a build that’s “in-character.” No 10th level of Cleric means no Divine Intervention (even if it’s only a 10% chance it’s still good to have), and no 12th level of Ranger means no ASIs. One good thing about this build is that it does peak around level 10 or so where the multiclassing doesn’t start to damage it, but if you really expect to run all the way to level 20 I’d sooner play either a straight Ranger or a straight Cleric.
But you’re coming along to share your kindness with everypony around you, and guide your friends to victory! Use your expertise to keep your friends alive while Angel kicks some major tail! Get down and be assertive, but remember not to push yourself too hard. Everypony already loves you for who you are, even if you’re in fact a little shy.

Stuck Together
Summary: When a mission goes wrong, Rip and John need some help to break a curse leading them to Miranda. But will Rip's newly re-established relationship with her survive. Author’s Note: Rip Week Day 2: “Have you two considered couples counselling?” – Who should Rip be with and do they need counselling to stay together? Or it’s not romantic help he needs but a different kind of counselling. Over to you. Enjoy.                                ********************************************* “Have you two considered couples counselling?”
The two men standing in her living room stopped arguing at the question and turned to where Miranda stood watching them with an amused smile.
“Okay,” she said, as silence had finally descended, “Now I have your attention one of you, and only one,” she cut them off sharply, “Tell me exactly what happened?”
Rip and John shared a look with John finally conceding to let the other man speak. They were here to get his girlfriend’s help after all.
“I was sent to retrieve a book that went missing when it wasn’t supposed to,” Rip explained, “It needs to be returned to the Cairo Museum so that it can be stolen at the correct time.”
Miranda nodded, “Since John Constantine is here, I’m assuming this book has a supernatural connection.”
“It’s a text for summoning creatures from the underworld, amongst other things,” John explained, “I heard it was being sold so thought I would see if I could pick it up and get it out of the hands of anyone who could use it for ‘nefarious purposes’.”
“Okay,” Miranda said, “So, how did it go from a simple retrieval to what happened?”
The two men looked at one another and Rip sighed, “There was an unforeseen complication.”
Rip checked his weapons before asking, “Anything?”
“I’m afraid not, Captain,” Gideon replied, “Mr Constantine isn’t answering his phone.”
“Honestly,” Rip shook his head frustrated, “The one time I actually need his help and I can’t get a hold of him.”
“It is possible that Mr Constantine will be at the sale,” Gideon reminded him, “Considering the item is something he would be interested in.”
Rip nodded, “You’re right. Okay, I am ready. Are you detecting anything I should know about?”
“Not currently,” Gideon replied, “However magic is not always something my sensors can detect.”
“I can always hope,” Rip noted as he headed to the cargo bay.
“Captain,” Gideon said softly, “Please do not rush this mission in your haste to return to Lieutenant Coburn. She will understand if you are not able to spend her birthday with her.”
Grimacing Rip patted the bulkhead, “I know, Gideon but we only found one another again three months ago and I want to spend the day with her.”
“Then you should go now and finish your mission.”
Smiling, Rip patted the bulkhead once more before starting out to find where the book was going to be sold. Heading away from the wasteland he’d parked the Waverider on, Rip walked towards the warehouse that was being used for a marketplace for those in the sorcery/magic business. The place was dank, dirty, and smelled absolutely disgusting.
“And to think I could be having dinner with Miranda,” Rip muttered to himself as he slid into the marketplace.
Looking around he spotted the auction he was looking for, along with a familiar face.
“What the bloody hell are you doing here?” John Constantine demanded when Rip arrived at his side.
“Hello to you too, John,” Rip replied dryly.
Rolling his eyes, John asked again, “What are you doing here, Hunter?”
“I’m here to collect a book called ‘De Spirituum Summoing’,” Rip told him.
John frowned, “What do the Time Masters want with a book of summoning spells?”
“To put it back in its rightful place,” Rip replied, “And if you ever answered your phone, you’d know this.”
John grimaced slightly, “Yeah too many people I’m trying to avoid know that number.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t put it on your business cards,” Rip reminded him.
Before the sorcerer could retort, the auction began and both men focussed on it.
“Is there anything specific you’re after,” Rip murmured softly as they watched several different items bought by the group around them.
John sighed, “I’m after the book too. It needs to be taken out of circulation.”
“Here it comes,” Rip said.
“How much money do you have on you?” John asked.
Rip smiled slightly, “More than enough.”
“Good,” John replied, “Because there is someone I recognise over there who might be after the book and can outbid me a hundred times over.”
 “Did you win the auction?” Miranda demanded when Rip stopped talking.
John and Rip swapped glances before John replied, “Yes.”
“So, what happened?” she sighed.
Rip grimaced, “Well…”
 “Where’s my book?” Rip demanded angrily after the auction as the dealer looked at him dumbly.
John sighed, waving his hand in front of the man’s glazed eyes, “He has no idea. It’s a spell. He probably doesn’t remember his own name right now, never mind who took the book. But I have an idea who has it.”
Rip followed John through the maze of the marketplace, dodging around people as he tried not to notice the strange objects being sold. They headed out the warehouse and saw the man who had been bidding against Rip heading towards a van.
“Oi,” John yelled, “Magor, you disgusting bastard. Where’s my mate’s book?”
Rip frowned as he got a good look at the other man, he was thin almost skeletal with yellowing skin and nicotine yellow thinning greasy hair. He gripped the bag he was holding tightly to him as he pressed back against the side of the van.
Rip drew his gun while John readied himself to fight, small ripples of fire flickering from his fingers. Magor stuck his free hand into his pocket and pulled out a small bundle, throwing it at John who automatically went to catch it, the flames from his fingers set it alight covering them in smoke.
“Bollocks,” John snapped, he ran towards the van only to be yanked backwards to where Rip stood.
Rip let out a cry of shock when John’s entire body slammed into him sending them both into the fence behind them. They heard the van speed away as they untangled themselves from one another.
“What happened?” Rip demanded as he tried to catch his breath, managing to stand he brushed the dirt off himself.
“Not sure,” John replied, smelling the air around them.
Rip shook his head and started walking the direction the van had gone, surprise filling him when he was yanked back into John, sending them both to the ground in another heap.
John grimaced after they untangled themselves once again, “He cursed us. The bastard.”
“Cursed?” Rip blinked in surprise before demanding, “How do we break it?”
Sighing John replied, “I’m pretty sure I know which spell he used, I just need to find how to remove it and…”
“And?” Rip demanded worriedly when John trailed off.
“Another person, who we trust, to help with breaking the spell,” John told him, “Do you know anyone because right now my list is pretty small.”
Rip hesitated before he nodded, “There’s one person I can think of.”
 “I’m honoured you trust me so much,” Miranda smiled as they finished the story.
Rip shrugged, “Who else would I ask?”
Miranda took his face in her hands and pulled him down to her, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
John coughed getting their attention, “Sorry but I can’t exactly go anywhere while you two have a quickie.”
Rip blushed, while Miranda chuckled, “Alright, do we have a plan of any kind or is this a wing it and see what happens kind of mission?”
“A bit of both,” Rip shrugged, “Our best idea is to head back to John’s place so we can lift the curse and then we track down the man who stole the book.”
She nodded, “Give me a few minutes to collect some things and we’ll head to the Waverider.”
Miranda headed to her bedroom and quickly packed a few essentials for the journey, adding her weapons because, knowing her Rip, things would not be as easy as he hoped. Pulling a coat on, Miranda grabbed the bag and rejoined the two men in the living room, rolling her eyes as they were bickering again.
“Alright,” she cut them off, “Let’s go.”
 “Welcome back, Lieutenant Coburn it is wonderful to have you here once more,” Gideon greeted as they walked onboard the Waverider, before adding, “Please remember not to smoke whilst onboard, Mr Constantine.”
John rolled his eyes, “Well, that’s nice. She gets how wonderful it is to see you and I get an order not to smoke.”
“Because you ignore Gideon’s rules,” Rip reminded his friend, “Whereas Miranda is the favourite.”
Miranda chuckled, “I will drop my bag in a room and join you on the bridge.”
Rip caught her hand, “My room.”
“Okay,” she kissed him quickly before diverting off to the living quarters while Rip and John continued to the bridge.
Rip slid into the pilot’s chair and readying the ship for flight, John taking the hastily erected seat at his side as they couldn’t get more than a few feet apart without being pulled together once more.
“Gideon,” Rip called, “Has there been any indications that the book has been used?”
“Not currently,” she replied.
Rip nodded, “That’s good. We are going to head to John’s place to review some research material and hopefully find the spell to break this curse.”
“A wise plan,” Gideon replied, “I do not think the Time Masters would be happy to have Mr Constantine as a permanent resident of the Waverider.”
“Neither would you,” John noted.
At Gideon’s silence, Rip chuckled, “Is Miranda on her way?”
“Yes, Captain,” Gideon told him.
The doors opened and Miranda walked onto the bridge, she’d changed into a much more practical outfit than the summer dress she’d been wearing before, and her hair was pinned up the way she used to wear it for missions. Taking one of the seats, she pulled the restraint down and nodded.
“Let’s go.”
 John released the protection spells on the door to the Mill House before he motioned the couple to follow him inside. Miranda had a smile on her face as she looked around. At least someone was enjoying themselves.
Leading them into the main room, John gave a wave, “Welcome. Be careful what you touch.”
“I’m going to assume that includes the dust,” Miranda noted pointedly as she studied some of the items around the room.
He grabbed a few of the books he thought might help them and placed them on the coffee table, “Start with these.”
Miranda instantly grabbed one and her eyes lit up with interest as she took a seat on the couch. Rip took a book as well and sat at her side. John could see both the hormones and awkwardness between the couple.
He’d been stunned when Rip had taken them to see Miranda for help, having had no idea that the annoying Time Master had a social life, never mind a gorgeous smart girlfriend who clearly had him wrapped around her finger.
It was odd watching their relationship as it seemed in some ways to be still in the early stages, Rip especially didn’t seem comfortable being intimate with her in front of John but then there were times it was like they’d been a couple for long time as they had an awareness of each other that only came from years together.
“Okay,” Miranda spoke up after about an hour of studying, “I think I’ve found something. John, what do you think?”
Taking the book, he scanned the spell and nodded, “This is perfect, love. But…”
“But?” Rip demanded.
“I have everything needed to create it,” John told them, “The problem is because of the nature of the anti-curse, Miranda has to do everything.”
Miranda’s eyes lit up, “You mean I get to do actual magic?”
John nodded and Rip frowned.
“Are you sure?” Rip asked, “Isn’t that dangerous?”
“If she was doing it without supervision then yes,” John told him, “But I’ll be walking her through the entire thing.”
Miranda moved to Rip’s side and took his hand, “I’ll be fine.”
Rip turned them slightly in the hopes of some privacy, “Magic is volatile, Miranda. We’re already cursed, I don’t want anything to happen to you.”
“You do remember that I received the exact same training as you,” Miranda replied sharply, “Don’t you?”
“Yes, but…”
“But?”
John coughed before they started arguing properly and spoke up, “Rip, it’s a relatively simple spell and with me watching over her, Miranda will be fine.”
“Not. Your. Choice,” Miranda stated, enunciating every word as she poked Rip’s chest with each word and Rip backed down.
John grimaced at the tension and clapped his hands, “Okay, let’s get this sorted so we can separate us then find the bastard who stole the book.”
 Rip didn’t like that Miranda had to work the spell to separate him from John, but Miranda refused to even consider looking for another option. He’d forgotten how much she could frustrate him, how headstrong she was, and how much she liked to argue with him.
“Oh, this is incredible,” Miranda said as John sorted out the ingredients for the spell.
“The good thing about this spell,” John told her, speaking in a way to ensure Rip would listen, “Is that it’s not taking any life energy from you, it just needs the intentions. I’ll be the one who sets it alight to activate the spell, so it’s my energy. What it needs is that you care for, well I’d say both of us would be best, but at least one helps.”
“I care about what happens to you, John,” Miranda said, and Rip felt a small spike of jealousy go through him which eased when she added cheekily, “I need you to make sure Rip doesn’t get himself killed trying to retrieve this book.”
John caught Rip’s eye with an amused smirk before turning back to Miranda.
“Okay,” John said, returning their attention to the spell, “In the order I tell you, and during each step try to focus on whatever good points you believe Rip has.”
Laughter bubbled from Miranda, she tilted her head to Rip, who frowned at her for a second before giving in and pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
John chuckled murmuring, “So well trained,” before letting out a cry of pain when Miranda kicked his ankle.
“Watch it, buddy,” Miranda warned John.
Rip smiled at her defence of him, while John rolled his eyes, continuing to tell Miranda each step. Rip rested his hand on his girlfriend’s shoulder, when John advised it would help with the spell.
“I feel like I’m tingling,” Miranda said as she added the final few ingredients.
John nodded, “That means it’s working.”
“What now?” Rip demanded.
“Miranda,” John ignored him, “Take each corner and bring them together in the centre, twisting the ends then wrap the twine around and tie it in a knot so it holds together.”
She followed the instructions and a few minutes later, sitting on the bench was a small bundle.
“That’s it?” Rip asked.
John nodded, “That’s it.”
Miranda laughed in surprise before asking, “So what do we do now?”
“John?” Rip turned to the other man.
Grabbing the bundle, John handed it to Miranda and motioned Rip to join him, “Miranda when I tell you, throw it at us.”
Miranda picked it up and nodded, “Whenever you’re ready.”
“Just toss it gently,” Rip spoke up, “It’s not a bomb.”
John chuckled as Miranda rolled her eyes, he took a slow breath and allowed his magic to come forth. Flames danced across his fingers and John nodded, “Now.”
When Miranda threw the small bundle, it instantly ignited when John caught it, smoke covering him and Rip making them both cough.
The smoke cleared and Rip looked at John, “Did it work?”
“You walk that way and I’ll walk this way.”
 Miranda watched the two men slowly walk in opposite directions both waiting to be yanked back together. Finally, they were standing on opposite sides of the room, well past the limit they’d previously had.
“I’d say it worked,” Miranda smiled.
John nodded to her, “Nice job for your first spell.”
“Only spell,” Rip added.
“Spoilsport,” Miranda said as John chuckled.
Rip frowned at her, “Now we’re separated, you should take the Jumpship home. I’ll pick it up once we’ve retrieved the book.”
Miranda stared at him before stating, “No.”
“Miranda…”
“I’m not leaving,” she replied, “There is still a mission to complete and it’s clear the two of you need adult supervision.”
Rip grimaced, “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Miranda stared at him for a moment before grabbing his arm, “Excuse us a minute,” she said to John pulling Rip into the other room.
Once they were alone, Miranda folded her arms and glared at him.
“What?” Rip asked worriedly.
“Do you remember how we met?” Miranda demanded.
Rip frowned confused, “What?”
“Do. You. Remember. How. We. Met?” she enunciated every word sharply.
“Of course I do,” Rip replied, bemusement on his face.
“Then you remember that I was not only trained the same as you, but my scores were always higher,” she stated.
“I just…” he hesitated at her glare before whispering, “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Miranda sighed shaking her head, “Rip, I am more than capable of looking after myself. I can’t believe you of all people are treating me like I can’t.”
“It’s been a few years though since you left,” Rip reminded her, “And I have been working as a Time Master for almost five years.”
Anger filled her, and Miranda forced herself not to yell, “I am staying to help but after this…” she paused, hating the next words out of her mouth, “But after this, since you obviously don’t respect me, perhaps we should just part for good this time.”
Sadness and confusion covered his face, “Miranda?”
Without another word she left him standing alone.
                                 *********************************************
 John’s location spell had led them to a rundown house on the outskirts of a housing estate and Miranda wrinkled her nose, “Lovely place. Do you think they’d sell?”
John chuckled, rolling his eyes as Rip remained silent. They’d not spoken to one another since leaving the Mill House and John was getting to the point where he was going to bang their heads together.
“Well?” John turned to the Time Master.
“The scans are showing one life sign,” Rip replied, “Presumably our friend.”
Miranda leaned over and checked the scanner, “Do you think he has any more of those tricks up his sleeve? Because as much fun as this has been, John I don’t want to be stuck to either of you.”
John saw a look of hurt flicker across Rip’s face before it became impassive.
“He has power,” John replied, “I should be able to pull together a quick protection spell for all of us to ward off any possible traps in the house, but it won’t help against him.”
Miranda frowned, “So we draw him out to us before we go inside.”
“Good idea,” John noted.
“Miranda is an expert tactician,” Rip noted softly.
John watched a smile touch Miranda’s lips briefly before she remembered she was mad at Rip.
“Okay,” John said quickly, “What’s the plan?”
Miranda chewed her lip for a moment as Rip mused.
“Do you…” they started together both grimacing and Rip motioned Miranda to continue.
“Do you have any way to draw him out of the house?” Miranda asked John who nodded, “Once out here we set up a trap. Either magical or technical. Once he’s trapped, we retrieve the book and get the hell out of here.”
John frowned in thought, “It’ll need to be a tech trap. I’d need more time to make a magical trap powerful enough.”
Miranda turned to Rip, “What do you have with you?”
Emptying his pockets, Miranda smiled at the bits and pieces he produced, “We can set up a grid easily using these,” she shook her head, “I cannot believe you carry this stuff in your pockets.”
Rip shrugged slightly, “You never know when you might need it.”
Miranda turned away, smiling slightly and John rolled his eyes again, he did not have time for this.
“I’m going to check the perimeter,” Rip told them, “Just to ensure there’s nothing unexpected.”
John waited until Rip left before turning to the woman putting together their trap.
“I know he’s an idiot,” John said, not sure how he had ended up in the middle of this and not believing he was actually getting involved, “But he does love you.”
Miranda sighed, “I know. And I love him too.”
“But?”
“But I’m not some damsel in distress that needs protecting,” Miranda noted annoyed, “I can take care of myself. He used to know this but since he came back into my life…”
John grimaced when she trailed off, “He’s scared he’ll lose you. Even I can see that.”
“I’m the one who stays put,” Miranda sighed, “I have a normal life while he could be hurt anywhere in time, and I would never know because the Time Masters don’t know we’re together and would never tell me. I’ve more to fear than he does.”
John shrugged, “The man is a moron but maybe give him another chance.”
Miranda rolled her eyes, “If we get out of this in one piece, I’ll think about it.”
 Rip knew he had to focus on the mission, but his mind kept wandering back to Miranda’s words that they should end their relationship. He couldn’t lose her again, he’d spent so long looking for her, missing her and now…
“Gideon,” he called softly, “Have you detected anything from this location?”
“No, Captain,” she replied.
Sighing in relief, he hadn’t noticed anything either and hoped to get through this mission fast so he could persuade Miranda to give him another chance.
“Are you still in Lieutenant Coburn’s bad graces?” Gideon asked, making him frown.
“Why do you…”
“Because I have observed you on all the occasions that she has been onboard,” Gideon cut him off, “And she does not normally look so irritated with you, Captain.”
Rip sighed, “I just want her to be safe, so I suggested she take the jumpship home.”
“Ahh.”
“What does that mean?”
There was silence for several moments before Gideon replied, “It means you have apparently forgotten how capable Lieutenant Coburn is.”
Rip sighed again, “I know she’s capable, but she shouldn’t have to be here.”
“Has it occurred to you that she wishes to ensure you are safe?” Gideon suggested, “Your relationship is not sanctioned and if something happens to you then she may never know. Perhaps you should stop trying to protect her and look at things from her point of view.”
 Miranda glanced round to as Rip returned from his walk around the area, “Anything?”
He shook his head, “No. Gideon has detected nothing.”
“Good,” Miranda said, “And we have a trap.”
Rip smiled, “Nice work.”
Glancing up at him Miranda gave him the smirk Rip knew so well, the one that always reminded him that she was not only better than he was but that he knew it. It was one of the reasons he’d fallen for her.
“Alright,” John interrupted, “Are we ready?”
Miranda nodded, “Get him out here and once he’s in the trap you two retrieve the book.”
“Just like that,” John grimaced before closing his eyes and calling forth his power, “Let’s knock.”
Rip and Miranda watched John release the spell to get Magor’s attention and didn’t have to wait long as the man appeared before them.
He was even thinner than before and looked as though a strong wind would break him in two, but his eyes were glowing with power.
“Don’t move,” John told them, “He needs to move closer. His magic isn’t strong enough to get us.”
“Are you sure?” Miranda asked.
John glanced sideways with a shrug, and she rolled her eyes.
Magor walked towards them, each step bringing him closer to the trap they’d set. Miranda’s fingers brushed the button to activate the trap, but they needed him to move just slightly closer.
“You have something that belongs to my mate,” John called, “And he wants it back.”
“Or what?” the other man spat at him, “Because the last time we met, you and your friend lost.”
As he took one more step, Miranda smirked, “That’s because they didn’t have me.”
She hit the button and an energy field sprung up around him. Magor looked around angrily trying to escape the shield.
“Okay,” she said, “Go get what we’re here for.”
 John and Rip entered the house, they could hear Magor swearing at Miranda, but she had Rip’s pistol in case he managed to escape.
“Got the cloth?” John asked as he slowly eased his way across the floor into the centre of the room, ensuring he didn’t set off any traps.
Rip nodded, “Just need you to find the book.”
John released the location spell watching it move around the room until it stopped at a cupboard. Before he opened it, John held out his hand and Rip gave him the red material that had been warded to allow them to carry the book. Carefully John lifted the book using the silken cloth then wrapped it, making sure the cloth was secure around the book.
“Let’s get out of here,” John told him.
Leaving the house Rip was about to let Miranda know they had retrieved the book when Magor’s continued attempts to release himself bore fruit. As the shield dropped, the man stepped forward to attack Miranda, falling to the ground when Miranda coolly shot him.
John stared at her for a moment before turning to Rip, “Marry her.” Before Rip could reply John walked over to Miranda, “Is he dead?”
“Unconscious,” Miranda replied, sliding the pistol back into the holster on Rip’s hip the moment he reached her, “Stun setting only. Did we get it?”
Rip held up the book, “Mission accomplished.”
“Good,” Miranda patted his shoulder, “See what you can do when you have supervision.”
With an amused smile she started back to the ship leaving the two men to follow her.
                                 *********************************************
 “So, Miranda,” John said as they reached the ship, “This is where I have to say goodbye. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you,” taking her hand he pressed a kiss to the back of it.
Miranda chuckled and hugged him.
“Give the idiot another chance,” John murmured before winking at her, “But give me a call if you get sick of him.”
Laughing Miranda replied, “Look after yourself, John. I don’t want to have to rescue you again.”
Shaking his head, John turned to Rip, “Try to lose my number.”
“Where would the fun be in that?” Rip replied offering his hand.
John shook it quickly before turning and walking away. They watched him leave before turning and walked into the ship. Rip instantly headed to the parlour and placed the book in the safe activating a security shield around it so that it was safe until he could return it to the museum.
Turning he found Miranda standing there and he sighed.
“I’m sorry,” Rip whispered, “I know you are not incapable of looking after yourself.”
“Rip…” she started stopping when he held his hand up.
“Please let me finish,” he said softly, “I know you’re not incapable, but I lost you once, and it took me five years to find you again. I’m afraid that I’m going to open my eyes and you’ll be gone again. I love you, Miranda and the thought of not having you in my life scares me more than I can say.”
Shaking her head, Miranda grabbed him by the lapels of his coat and pulled him close, “You’re an idiot,” she laughed before kissing him.
They parted and a relieved Rip smiled, “I’m guessing you’ve forgiven me.”
“For now,” Miranda replied, wrapping her arms around his neck, “So, Captain Hunter it is still my birthday, and we have a timeship. After we return the book to its proper place, let’s do something fun.”
Kissing her once more, Rip murmured, “As you wish.”

Harry Wells x  Witch Reader (Flash) Short Story: Chapter 2
Tumblr media
So for the next few weeks you became an unofficial member of team Flash. It was fun, the little crime fighting. Metas were a lot easier to take down than demons, that was for sure. Harry was a work in progress, but you were a patient person.
Besides, he was kinda cute. Since you’d been there so long, you ended up getting a small job at Jitters so you could rent an apartment close to Star Labs. Your brother didn’t take it especially well when you said you wanted to stay for a while. You supposed he figured you come back when you got bored, but these weren’t one of those times. You just needed this opportunity.
Chilling on the chair, you blew at a loose strand of your hair, scrolling through your phone's feed. The hurried steps of someone entering is what alerted you to present company.
“Ramon I need to use your…” Harry lifted his head, not spotting the engineer, instead you were seated in the cortex, spinning on one of the chairs absently. Your gaze shifted from the phone in his direction. “Cisco went for something to eat, what do you need? “
“You’re still here.”
“You could try and not sound so disappointed. “ He was sure his comment would piss you off, but you looked unaffected, if anything you seemed happy. He still wasn’t used to your endless state of elation. He couldn’t recall ever seeing you frown.
“I’m gonna be here for a while, so you better get used to me being around.” he didn’t reply, moving over to Cisco’s workstation. You followed with your eyes placing your chin into your palm. Harry intrigued you. His unapproachable vibe was a clear turnoff for most women, so you understood why he was single, but you’d been watching him since you got there, and his hostility you learned was a sign of his care. The way he bickered with Cisco, you could tell there was a bond between the two. He was always very caring with the interactions he had with Iris and Caitlin.
He was a secret sweetheart. What you respected was his blatant disregard for pretense. He never tried to be anyone else, or really cared for wearing a mask. A lot of the guys you dated wore a facade, until you got two or three weeks in and realized they weren’t anything like what you thought. No, Harry wasn’t like that at all. And you suspected his indifference to you was a defense, he still didn’t know much about you, and he was very protective of Team Flash. He’d give his life for each and everyone of its members. Another thing you respected.
“Gosh, I’m gushing over the guy when he isn’t even ten feet away, chill (Y/N).”
Why’d he have to be so darn attractive. Through your shameless admiring, you picked up on a flickering red light on his back.
“Hey..” you called softly, getting to your feet. Something wasn’t right.
“Hey!”
“What!” he demanded. The light moved to his chest, right over his heart, and you sprinted in his direction, skating in front of him at the last second. Lifting your hands, you screamed out a spell.
“Clypeus mihi!”
Harry was startled at the gunshots that echoed throughout the room, right before him a blue barrier lifted, sheltering you both from the onslaught of bullets. A few of the bullets ricochet, and he barely had the chance to try and avoid. You gritted your teeth, moving your right arm to the side to widen your defense. The blue light was now fully encased around your bodies. You were praying that Barry would race over upon getting the notification that Star Labs was under attack.
The first bullet that penetrated the glass of the window set off all the alarms. You were sort of glad the rest of Team Flash was not present. This particular spell took a lot more out of you, just sheltering two people was a challenge, and as it stood you weren’t sure how long you’d be able to keep it up. You heaved biting down on your lip, Harry could see the blood that dripped from your nose, not to mention the similar blue light that was reflected in your irises. You were nearing your limit.
In this position, you wouldn’t have the strength to conjure another spell. The sound of a yell from outside the building on the roof reached your ears, and all at once the bullets stopped. The shield lowered almost immediately, the light draining from your hands and eyes as you dropped to your knees in exhaustion. Despite your clear discomfort, you smiled when you saw the red streak of lightning, followed by your favorite speedster.
“Boy am I glad to see you.” Barry looked more than a little relieved.
There was never a dull day here, you realized that now.
~~~
“Take it easy, It’s hard for me to track your vitals, magic isn’t exactly my specialty, but your readings look strong. Try to get some rest. “ you nod at Caitlin’s evaluation with a thanks, turning back to Barry and the other who stood next to your bed.
“So who was the psycho who tried to light up Grumpy over there.” You titled your head in Harry’s direction, who glared.
“His wife got sick when the particle accelerator went off. She died a month ago. Joe cleared out his apartment, his place was filled with pictures of Harry and Star Labs, I think he was planning this for a while. I guess losing the last of his family broke him. “ Barry never took pleasure in locking up people in pain, but that didn’t excuse his actions.
“Good thing you were here (Y/N), otherwise Harry would have been kapoot!”
“I’m right here Ramon.” you chuckle. “No sweat, glad I could help.” You tried to say it enthusiastically, but your body felt weak. That was the first time you used that particular spell, mainly because you knew the kind of toll it had on the body. Since you weren’t as experienced or powerful as Maggie and her sisters, it would be harder for you to recuperate.
“Let's give her a break.” Thank goodness for Caitlin. She started directing them all out, but Harry didn’t move. She sent you a smile. When they were gone, your head moved to Harry. He looked a little less grumpy. He couldn’t have actually been worried about you. Could he?
“That was reckless, from your state if you’d kept that spell any longer there was a good chance you could have died.”
“Seriously, not even a thank you. I’m hurt Grumpy wells.”
“This isn’t a game!” he bellowed.
You sigh, trying to straighten yourself in the bed.
“I know that Harrison. Even so, I wasn’t about to let some crazy put holes in you. You’re my friend, and I did what I had to. I needed to make sure you were safe. At that moment protecting you was priority. Nothing else mattered. “ You didn't regret it. And you sure as hell wouldn’t apologize for doing such a thing.
“Thank you (Y/N).” your mouth slid shut, and the look on his face now, it made your heart race.
That was the first time he’d said your name, and boy did you like the way it sounded coming out of his mouth.
“Y-You’re welcome, a-anytime don’t mention it.” He smiled this time around.
“Damn it he’s trying to kill me!”
That had to be his goal. This guy would certainly be the end of you.
[ prompts of choice ]
Honestly... I had a whole ass prompt set chosen for this but the need to write Maxwell as an actual fucking softie took over and I wound up not actually using ANY of the prompts I chose. So. Yeah. This is just an oc, softly getting railed by Maxwell.
[ pairing ]
Maxwell Jacob Friedman x Female!OC, Bianca. You will probably see more out of these two. I enjoyed writing this and maaaybe I’m tempted to do more with them as a result.
[ authors notes ]
I offer no apologies nor do I make any excuses. And the brunt of this was the result of a late night conversation between @unabashedwrestlefics and I last night. So. Yeah. Viv, if you’re reading, I love and blame you partly for this.
[ warning ]
Maxwell written as an actual sweetheart... provided that he actually gives a fuck about someone. Probably gonna piss a few people off but again, idec. I wanted this. I needed it. Smut. Not a condom to even be thought about. Body fluids. Biting. A little dirty talk, but mostly just teeth rotting filthy fluff.
                             MJF & BIANCA, SOFT.
By the time Mox was pinning Maxwell for the 3 count, I was watching the match through my fingers, almost sick to my stomach and definitely dreading what the outcome of this match would most likely spell out.
If there was ever a night for the shoe to drop and the mask to come down, tonight was that night.
I was so sure of it that as soon as Maxwell stepped through the curtains, dried blood caked on his forehead, I’d mentally prepared myself a thousand times over for the tongue lashing of the decade. My eyes darted around but I didn’t see any of the girls I’d gotten to know in my short time working with the company.
I took a deep breath and I tentatively made my way over to him, choosing to keep my mouth shut as I typically do around him. The tension was thicker. I could see the anger brewing in his eyes. I could feel the tension in his body as I wordlessly slipped one of his arms around my shoulders to keep him a little more steady.
“Where the fuck is he?” Maxwell’s anger laced outburst shattered through me being lost in survival mode and I gazed up at him, a brow raised. “Who?” I finally asked.
“Fucking Wardlow. He did that on purpose.” Maxwell scowled and his eyes darted around the crowded hallway, searching for a sign of Wardlow.
As he did this, I took a shaky breath or two, preparing myself for what everyone’s been warning me about for weeks as far as he’s concerned.
Everyone’s so convinced that sooner or later, Maxwell is going to show me his nasty side and I am going to get hurt. I can’t count on both hands the number of times since creative stuck me as his valet upon arrival that I’ve had people pop up and offer condolence, -or protection, should the need arise. I guess I let that all get to me, because I’ve been living on pins and needles for weeks now and honestly?
Maxwell has literally never been anything like people claim he is towards me. I won’t say he’s been overly nice, because he’s just a naturally abrasive guy, but he hasn’t been the cold hearted bastard people write him off to be, either.
If anything, being his valet has been… well, it’s been strange. Because all this stuff people told me about him?
I’ve gotten the exact opposite, from him.
People told me he’d treat me like a toy. That he’d constantly tell me I was below him. That he’d probably wreck my self esteem.
None of that’s happened.
Maxwell spotted Wardlow while I was lost in my own thoughts and fears and before I could stop him, he was shoving through the crowd, catching up to the other man, shoving at him.
“Damn it.” I swore quietly to myself, pushing through the crowd gathered around them as they fought and trying to pull them apart. Every now and then I could hear bits of what was being said in between licks passed and shoves and punches, but it wasn’t enough to know exactly what had the two men fighting other than the fact that for whatever reason, Maxwell seemed convinced that Wardlow purposely cost him the title belt.
What got my attention was when my name came up. Maxwell seemed to be accusing Wardlow of something that had everything to do with me and Wardlow wasn’t bothering to deny it, either.
The whole thing was just… Too much for me, so I slipped away, hoping to just go somewhere quieter and pull myself together. As I rounded the corner, Mox stopped me, an arm beside my head as he stared down at me intently, this shit-eating smirk on his face that had his eyes dancing.
“What?”
“Better brace yourself, kitten. Gonna get the brunt of Maxy’s anger because Wardlow’s done with his shit.” Mox said it calmly, hoisting the belt over his shoulder as he continued to stare me down. I shrank back and bit my lip, trying to come up with any form of rebuttal.
Nothing came.
But it did leave me wondering. What if everyone was wrong about Maxwell? And I wasn’t stupid, I could look into Jon Moxley’s baby blue eyes and know that I was just another way to stick it to Maxwell and that just made me angry. So far, Maxwell had done literally none of the shit everyone kept accusing him of being capable of and literally every single guy back here? Turning out to be the ones who kept their truest selves hidden. Like Mox and his half-assed lazy little warning. Who the fuck did he think he was?
I stood taller, staring up at him in defiance. “So what? Is this you, offering to protect me? I hate to break it to you, Mox but… I don’t need or want your protection. I finish what I start, come whatever may.”
Even with my voice wavering just a little as I spoke, I was still impressed with myself because it was more me, less this unsure and quiet little meek thing I’d allowed myself to become just to tread on eggshells and keep from making waves. I stepped beneath his arm and slunk through the doors leading out into the parking lot, letting the night air hit me and calm me down a little. I pulled myself up onto a brick half wall and sat there, staring up at the night sky as I tried to work through all this confusion in my mind right now. Trying to pick the best path of the two I was currently torn between.
Everybody kept at me about how ruthless and cold and unfeeling Maxwell was. And yet, he hadn’t ever come across as any of those things. But I kept circling back to everyone saying it. Everyone being convinced they were right and they knew exactly what was going to happen to me.
I even had one of the girls in hair and makeup suggest to me that he was dangerous because he knew exactly how to pour on the charm and make you fall for him, but when he was tired, he knew how to turn off that charm and leave you feeling like you were nothing, like you were lost without him.
If it wasn’t at least a little true, I reasoned with myself as I waited on him to walk out of the arena, then why did everyone keep saying it?
By the time I heard the door being thrown open and my name being called,I’d made up my mind… Just keep doing what I’ve been doing for weeks now. Prepare myself for the worst. Keep waiting it out, see what happened in that regard.
He was towering over me and I tore my gaze off the moon and stars above to meet his intent gaze, my eyes searching a little, waiting on Wardlow to pop up like usual.
“Wardlow’s taking his own fucking vehicle tonight.” Maxwell mumbled quietly, gazing at me a few seconds. I nodded and took a deep breath, standing. At this point, I was just tired. I wanted to get to the hotel, get to the privacy of my own room and think. To try to figure out all this internal conflict. To try to figure out why exactly, despite everyone’s repeated warnings over the past few weeks, I still couldn’t deny that for whatever reason, there was this magnetic pull to the guy - and what that said about me if the ride to the hotel went as bad as I was half afraid it would.
Our bodies brushed together and I realized that yet again, we were migrating closer to each other. It happened a lot if I really stopped to think about it. It happened almost as much as the way he always seemed to be where I was. More than once I’d looked up to find him sort of staring at me. He’d always look away first, of course, but I couldn’t deny that I’d caught him looking on more than one occasion.
And then another thought hit me. I liked it.
“We should get going.” Max’s quietly muttered statement shattered through the bit of an epiphany I was currently having and I glanced up, swallowing hard when I found him staring down at me with this look in his eyes.
“It was just a match. Just a leather strap.” I don’t know why I said it, but I felt like maybe he needed to hear it. I tensed a little in the seconds following because I was at least half sure that he’d explode.
Because yes, I was still waiting on the mask to be peeled away and Maxwell to show me this nastier side people seemed to keep reminding me he had. The side I’d seen come to the surface so easily with pretty much everyone else.
“I’m tired and it’s late.” he muttered quietly, his eyes still locked on me. When our bodies bumped against each other all over again, I bit my lip just to keep the unexpected quiet whimper that rose to my throat from coming out. When I couldn’t take the way the tension between us seemed to be growing heavier with each second that passed, making my breath catch in my throat, I spoke up quietly.
“We should get going, Maxwell.”
I reluctantly stepped away a little, everyone’s repeated warnings about the man filling my head. The unease I’d been feeling earlier had lifted slightly and now I was just left with confusion. Tension. My own little pesky thoughts as of the last few minutes.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d almost swear he pouted slightly when I stepped away. I dug around in my pockets for the keys to his rental car and raised a hand, aiming the key fob in the general direction of the car, unlocking it and starting the engine. Then I turned to him and found myself on the receiving end of another one of those stares.
Which had me fidgeting more than a little, I could feel my thighs starting to slip off of each other. I reached out, prepared to take his gear bag, but he shook his head, slinging it over his shoulder as he fell into step beside me. For the entire walk across the lot, neither of us really said anything.
Like usual, he opened the passenger door and gestured for me to get in. I scoffed at him and shook my head. I tensed in anticipation of a potential argument or him being nasty towards me, but I took a deep breath and eyed the passenger seat and then him as firm as I could.
“You’re crazy if you think I’m letting you drive when you just went through that.” I muttered as calmly as I could, continuing to hold his gaze.
,, why do you even care?” the thought bubbled to the front of my mind and I shoved it out, choosing to ignore it until later.
I needed to make it to the hotel. To the sanctuary of my own room so I could relax for the night.
Rather than argue, Maxwell sank down into the passenger seat, his head leaning against the headrest, his eyes closing. For the entire ride to the hotel, neither of us really said anything. And the tension that seemed to linger between us almost constantly?
So much heavier.
Not necessarily in a bad way, either.
I pulled the car into the empty space in the third row and I killed the engine, sitting there for a second or two, sort of collecting myself. In that time, Maxwell had gotten out and grabbed not only his gear bag but my bag from the trunk. I was just trying to process. To figure out whether it was safe to relax a little or whether the shit storm was incoming. A gentle rap at the drivers window had me looking up just as Maxwell opened the door on my side, staring down at me.
He held out a hand and I eyed it briefly, letting my eyes dart upward only to be locked on his.  Naturally, he wasn’t bothering to say anything, instead, that cocky little smirk played at his lips.
He’s never very talkative with me. It’s weird, it’s almost as if he just doesn’t know what to do or say, so he does and says nothing. And yet, I found myself thinking, maybe that in itself says everything I need to know. My own gut feeling should’ve been enough for me to ignore everyone else’s warnings, but given that I’ve been burned two significant times in the past and whenever I’m around Maxwell, I always feel like I’m seconds away from letting my guard down. Which isn’t a bad thing but given what people keep telling me, I’m fully aware that it could backfire and be the thing that hurts me in the long run.
I don’t enjoy being a bundle of raw nerves around the guy. I want to be able to fully give him the benefit of the doubt. I want to relax. I’m just so afraid to do so until I can’t around him a lot of the time.
I blew at the shaggy strands falling into my eyes and tentatively, I reached out, taking hold of his hand. He pulled me up and out of the car seat. He pulled me with such a force that our bodies collided and his arm shot out, wrapping around me, hauling me closer as he continued to just silently stare down at me. And if the look in his eyes was anything to go by and I were a lot more… Hopeful… I’d almost swear that he intentionally pulled me closer. It was on the tip of my tongue to ask what he was staring at or why he was always doing it but I didn’t dare.
If I thought my thighs were slipping off of each other before, it was nothing compared to right now, the literal flood taking place in my panties at the look in his eyes. My breath caught a little in my throat and I managed a nod towards the hotel.
“Standing here isn’t getting us in.” Maxwell muttered the words quietly just as I was about to say them and I nodded in a daze, still trying to tear my eyes out of his. Neither of us had stepped away from the other. And that tension lingering between us?
Almost at a boiling point.
“It’s not.” I managed a quiet laugh as I finally tore my eyes off him and reached for my things. He shook his head. I didn’t want to argue, so I fell in step beside him quietly, the two of us body to body in the doorway leading into the hotel when he held the door open for me and I went to step inside at the same time as him. I gulped and found my eyes focusing on his mouth and despite all my best efforts, I stared for a good second or two.
From behind us, Jericho’s throat cleared and this only made me step closer to Maxwell and it hit me then.
I do that a lot. If someone comes up and I don’t feel comfortable? I find myself migrating closer to him.
I felt the warmth of his hand lingering at my lower back, fingers grazing right against bare skin and I felt a wave of heat  rushing to my cheeks. Normally, he just kind of puts his hand there.
“Are you two going to move or stand there all night?” Jericho’s voice broke through our moment and I glanced over Maxwell’s shoulder, scowling at the man. Maxwell’s hand left my back and he whirled around, squaring up almost, a quiet growl slipping out as every single part of him tensed up.
“Max.” I mumbled his name cautiously. I was still very much trying not to rile him up.
“Just a minute, Bianca.” Maxwell grumbled, his gaze fixed firmly on Jericho. I rolled my eyes and reached out, tapping at his shoulder, immediately drawing my hand back just to be safe.
“I think you should probably listen to your pretty little valet, Friedman. This is a fight you don’t wanna start. Take your bruised ego and move it out of my way.” Jericho smirked as he said it and I tensed up all over again. Maxwell’s gaze flitted back and forth between me and Jericho for seconds that felt like years, anger flashing in his eyes almost dangerously until they settled on me. He took a deep breath and shoved at Jericho a little, muttering quietly, “I didn’t say you could talk to her, did I?”
“Maxwell. For the love of ten thousand fucks, the line.” I stopped mid sentence, giving Jericho my best hateful glare when my eyes met his and I found him staring at me like I was a piece of meat. “Jericho, if you don’t want a stiletto to the eyeball, I’d suggest you stop looking at me in that tone.” I snapped, biting my lip as I was quick to pull my gaze off the old creep and fix it back on Maxwell, nodding to the reception desk. “Line. Now.”
With one last lingering angry glare, Maxwell turned away from Jericho and we started to walk towards the line, falling into the end of it. I shuffled my feet and when he chuckled quietly, I glanced up at him.
“What?”
“Nothing.” Maxwell shook his head and went silent again. The line was getting shorter and I could feel myself relaxing a little more with each second that passed because it meant that I was closer to being in the sanctuary of my own room.
Where I could decompress, finally.
I had a lot to think about.
I took to scrolling through my Instagram account and a time or two, I felt his eyes on me. I rolled my eyes at the comments on a bikini pic I’d posted at a family barbecue the last time I’d been home and grumbled under my breath at an ex who’d slithered himself into my dms.
I felt Maxwell tense up beside me and after shoving my phone back into the pocket of my leopard print jacket, I glanced up at him, quickly looking away again when I saw the look in his eyes and I felt my cheeks starting to burn hot all over again. I shuffled my feet and squeezed my thighs together slightly but it didn’t help.
It was our turn at the check in desk now.
“A double?” the clerk flashed a smile at Maxwell and I. Honestly, I figured this would be the part where Maxwell made some cutting remark and demanded his own room, but to my surprise, he chuckled and dug into the sweats he was wearing to produce his wallet, passing it through the plastic barrier between our side of the desk and the other side.
I kept waiting on him to correct the assumption, but he never did. And for some reason, whenever I went to speak up and do so, my mouth refused to cooperate with my brain and make the words form.
As soon as the paperwork was filed and the clerk was handing us back our identification and Maxwell his wallet, I found myself gazing up at him, puzzled.
He bit his lip and stared down at me intently.
“That was okay, right?” he finally asked the question a good ten seconds later when we were standing in front of the elevator.
,, oh sure, sure. I’m fine, this is fine.” I thought to myself as the tension I thought I’d be getting rid of the second I was behind the doors of my own hotel room returned with a vengeance. Rather than argue, because I was still tiptoeing around him very much so at this point, I took a deep breath, gave him my best calm smirk and nodded.
Like a good girl.
Not rocking the boat, not making any waves.
But now, on top of everything else on my mind, I had yet another new thing to unravel… If everyone says he’s such a cold and heartless bastard, why in the hell would he take every opportunity he could get to be around me?
Because this has happened once before.
And yes, it was one hell of an intense weekend. I spent most of it down at the hotel pool or the hotel bar, just so I felt like I could breathe a little.
Because damn if being around the man almost constantly didn’t leave me breathless and so full of tension I thought I’d explode at any second.
The elevator doors slid open and I hurried on, leaning against the wall in the back. Maxwell stopped beside me, leaning in a little. “You know if you didn’t want to share a room, you could’ve said something.”
His voice was quiet, almost teasing. Almost as if he were amused by this. I’d been scrolling through my phone again and without looking up, I couldn’t, because God if I did, he was going to see the way my cheeks were burning bright red right now, I shrugged a little. “If I didn’t want to, you’d know it.”
The fact that when I said it it was 1000 percent true and I didn’t even realize it until I said it had my mind blown.
“Interesting.” he mumbled, mostly to himself. I scrolled through my Instagram feed again, trying to focus on anything but the night ahead. Or the tension between us that was now so thick that I felt like at any second, either one of us was going to explode.
The elevator squeaked and slowed to a death crawl and at one point, it lurched just a little, sending me into Maxwell’s side as I tensed on impact. “What the actual fucking..” I whined a little, eyes widening in panic at just the thought of now being trapped on an elevator.
“It’s just an elevator.”
His voice was calming, his breath tickling the shell of my ear and serving to make me almost painfully aware of the fact that I was pressed completely into his side and he’d slipped an arm around me to keep me there. “I realize that, but I need you to understand it’s called claustrophobia, sir.” I muttered the words in a daze, my gaze settling on him.
“That’s it. Keep lookin at me.” his voice was softer, an almost lazy drawl as he spoke. Neither one of us was making an effort to look away, god knows I tried. Somehow, just realizing that I’d fallen for the guy and people had warned me about him repeatedly just made me feel uneasy when he’d never shown me any actual reason to.
I gulped and nodded, my breathing syncing with his and I started to feel a little calmer. The elevator roared to life again and I relaxed a little, my shoulders slumping as I did so.
“Thank fuck.” I muttered quietly, making him chuckle a little as he reached up and brushed some hair out of my eyes, smoothing it behind my ear, giving a satisfied nod as he did so.
It felt like an eternity between the elevator starting back up again and when we finally reached our floor, but the doors finally slid open and I hurried off, stopping to wait on him.
He caught up just as I found the door to our hotel room and started to dig around in my pockets for the keycard and he tapped my shoulder.
I whirled around so fast that I catapulted myself right against him and before I could stop myself, a quiet whimper slipped out of my mouth. My eyes lingered on his lips and I took a shaky breath before forcing myself to look up and lock eyes with him. He was already staring at me, hints of an amused gleam in his eyes as he licked his lips slowly.
If I thought I had my thighs clenched before, they clenched so tight this time that I felt a dull ache starting to build.
“What?” my question came out quietly and he bit his lip and shook his head, again saying nothing. He took the keycard from my trembling hand and slid it through the card reader, pushing the door open as soon as the little light turned green and buzzed.
I stepped in, dropping my bags on the second bed and immediately shedding my shoes then flopping back first onto the bed, my eyes fluttering shut as I took a few seconds to attempt to decompress.
Tonight had been a lot. All I wanted was to try and fall asleep now that I was starting to realize that whatever explosion I’d been waiting on Maxwell to have apparently wasn’t coming.
Maxwell spoke up, shattering the silence in the room.
“Are you always this tense? Or is it me?”
I rose up slightly, propping on my elbows and staring at him a few seconds, completely unsure of how best to answer.
I felt really, really bad, because there was just something soft and quiet in his voice when he asked the question. And he wasn’t really looking at me, either, his gaze fixed intently on his hands instead. It was nothing like the strong and self assured guy the world saw on television. And if it hadn’t been for the weeks of literally everyone seeing fit to shove warning after warning about the guy down my throat constantly, I would’ve felt even worse.
I’d been tense, I’d been dancing and tiptoeing around him because I didn’t want to see that side of him. God knows I saw enough of that in an ex or two. I’d been holding my breath and waiting on him to be just like everyone said.. Or like those exes that I let my guard down for and I only ended up getting hurt by them.
As it all sank in, I shook my head, laughing at myself softly. If anything, this was not how I’d seen tonight turning out.
“ It’s not so much you as the shit everyone keeps saying. And the magnetic pull I keep trying to fight where you’re concerned...” I admitted quietly as I stood, starting to pace. Starting to ramble. Everything was spilling out of me because I just couldn’t hold it in anymore. I couldn’t keep going like this. “Everybody keeps telling me that you’re eventually gonna snap or worse, you’re gonna go cold towards me when the novelty of having a valet wears off and damn it, I just… I can’t deal with that happening. I’m afraid that you’re going to turn into my ex. I’m afraid that if I let my guard down, if I…”
He was watching me now and I could tell he was processing what I was saying. When I went quiet, he took a deep breath. “If you what?”
“If I let myself go ahead and fall for you, I’m only going to get burned all over again. And this time, it’ll be so much worse because this time, I’ll know it was the real thing and somehow, I wasn’t enough.”
 I sank back down on my bed and let out a ragged breath, raising my hand to my forehead as I gave a quiet laugh. “The funny part of all this is it’s too fucking late. I did anyway and I’m just so goddamn tired of fighting it. Of spending second after second reminding myself that everyone keeps telling me you will hurt me. You will turn some hidden nasty side, that people seem to think you possess, on me. And I’m realizing now that you’ve pretty much shown that side with other people. But never with me.”
I kept my eyes closed as soon as I finished talking. Looking up at him was not an option, not for me, not at this particular moment. I kept waiting on laughter or some kind of cutting remark, the things I know he’s capable of and the things that I’m used to seeing from him with everybody else we know but nothing came.
He kept sitting there, silent and staring at his hands. Until he wasn’t. I sighed and stood, gathering my things to go and take a shower. Honestly, I thought that if I just got out of the room then maybe I could distance myself from the outburst I’d just had and the fact that his lack of a reaction did sting just a little. I thought that if I took a long and hot soak, I could get rid of some of this tension built up inside me.
I reached for the handle on the door to the on-suite bathroom and my breath caught in my throat, escaping in a quiet hiss as his chest pressed against my back and his hand covered mine over the handle. I turned around and my back connected with the door in a soft smack. For at least five seconds, all I could really do was stare up at him. He was staring right back, neither of us were saying anything.
“So that’s it. You tell a guy you’re falling in love with him and then you go hide in the bathroom?” a teasing smirk played at his lips and I gulped as I felt his hips really press into mine, the handle of the bathroom door digging into my lower back softly.
That didn’t last for long because while I was distracted by the way it felt to have that hard,muscular frame pressed so close to me and by the way I just wanted to raise to tiptoe and tug at his scarf to pull his mouth down to meet mine, I missed the way that his hand slipped between my lower back and the door. But as soon as I realized it, I whimpered quietly and despite trying desperately to control myself and keep at least a little bit of my guard up, I found myself pressing into him, our bodies rubbing together lightly. His other hand glided over my curves, going still at the hip as he dug fingertips into my skin lightly.
When he exhaled, it was shakier. When I found myself rubbing against him all over again, he groaned quietly, his mouth opening and closing like he was just about to say something but he backed out at the last second.
Fitting, because I’d be damned if I knew what to say at the moment, all things considered. All I did know was that the urge to take his face in my hands and kiss him until I couldn’t breathe was doubling, no, tripling by the second and it was getting so that I was fidgeting a little in a last ditch attempt to keep from doing so on a whim.
One of us had to cave, to do or say something. I was determined that it wasn’t going to be me. Because every single time I’ve caved in the past, it hasn’t gone well for me. His forehead rested against mine gingerly and the hand on my hip raised, resting against the side of my face and he chuckled quietly.
“You realize if I didn’t want you, I wouldn’t have demanded you as my valet… Right? I had to do something, they were going to put you with Mox. One of those other assholes.” his mouth brushed right against mine as he went quiet and I didn’t think, I just reacted. My hand caught on the side of his face, steering his mouth right back against mine and my other hand caught in his hair, giving a little tug. He pulled back, staring at me a second or two and shook his head, raising a finger to my lip when I went to speak. “I don’t waste my time. When I want someone, I want them.” filled the silence and sent the last of the tension I felt scattering and he was pressing into me with more urgence now, his hand against the side of my face as he leaned down, his mouth crashing against mine, his body rubbing against mine and making me whimper into the kiss as his tongue pushed between my lips, parting the barrier they formed to tangle with mine.
The kiss broke, and we pulled back from each other to breathe, Maxwell staring down at me with this wild fire burning in his eyes as he wiped the back of his hand across his mouth, the ragged rise and fall of his chest with every breath he took making it crystal clear that he was well past worked up if that weren’t already obvious to me before.
 His hands caught on either side of my face as his forehead settled against mine and he stared down into my eyes. If I thought either one of us had a chance to properly catch our breath I was wrong because just when I caught my breath, his lips latched onto my lower lip all over again, nipping hungrily. “I mean that.” he muttered in a harsh intake just before his tongue slipped between my lips all over again, “ I don’t say things I don’t mean.”
I could feel his cock really starting to strain at the sweats he was wearing and I whimpered as he kept bucking himself against me and his mouth strayed from mine to wander right down the front of my throat. The hand resting against my cheek lowered to rest against the side of my neck, holding it still as the blunt of his teeth caught on my skin, littering it with little bite marks. “Fuck.” he breathed against my skin, the roughness of his lips and the warmth of his breath tickling the surface as he pressed me into the door even harder. “Do you not feel exactly what you’re doing to me right now, princess?” his hips snapped against me and I rubbed myself against the growing bulge strained at his sweats, my hand lowering and my fingers catching in the waistband.
He sucked in a ragged breath and bit his lip, a shiver racing through his body when I stepped away from the door and completely against him. With each step I took forward, he inched closer to his bed until the backs of his knees brushed against the thick mattress and when that happened, he sank down to sit on the edge and I lowered myself, settling in his lap, taking his face in my hand as my lips latched onto his all over again and I started to rock myself back and forth over the bulge strained at his sweats until I heard him whimpering even more and I could feel him bucking up into me from below.
His hand slipped up the hem of the little black dress and settled palm down against my throbbing core as he started to rub my lace covered crotch. My head fell back slightly, giving him access to my neck. He took the opportunity to his advantage, pulling me in as close as he could get me, latching onto my skin almost needy when he did it. The whimper that left his mouth and dissolved against my skin sent a shiver racing through me and I rocked myself down harder against the hefty bulge, earning me a needy whine from him as his fingers dug into my hips and he pressed me down harder, took control of the movement of my hips. It sent that dull ache building between my thighs to an almost blind throbbing pain.
 His mouth trailed down my neck and one of his hands raised, the thin strap of the little black dress snapping under the weight of the tug from Maxwell’s fingertips and almost the instant the strap to my dress was no longer an issue, Maxwell was latching onto the neckline with his teeth, tugging it downward, revealing bare breasts.
He backed away and took several shaky breaths, his eyes roaming slowly and that smirk on his face just before he lowered his head, resting his forehead against the tops of my breasts. I clung to him and gripped his shoulders tighter while baring down against his lap as soon as I felt the way his teeth softly grazed against exposed skin and it had me shivering and whining almost helplessly.
I wanted his mouth on mine again. I needed him to kiss me. I reached down and tilted his chin, lust hazed brown eyes locking on mine as soon as we locked eyes and when I crashed my mouth against his, he deepened the kiss, bucking himself into me all over again from below. Harder.
One of his hands disappeared up the hem of my dress and I heard the quiet tear of fabric. Lace panties came away torn  in his hand and he growled against my mouth as soon as he felt how wet I was already.
My hand slipped down, fingers slipping beneath the waistband of his sweats all over again and I felt his abdomen tense as he took a deep breath and grabbed hold of my face, pulling my mouth against his all over again, greedily. His left hand lowered, disappearing beneath the dress, thick digits carefully working me open as his thumb struck against my clit, rubbing. “How’s that feel, hm?” the warmth of his breath against my skin as he mumbled against it had me whimpering and rocking myself against his fingers.
“Mmf.. Ah..” I whimpered as the ache began to intensify and all I could do was keep on meeting the scissoring thrusts of the fingers buried deep inside my dripping pussy and hope that took away some of it. “Feels so.. Fuck!” I cried out as I felt his fingers strike against my spot, sending tension through my body just to try and keep my rapidly approaching orgasm at bay. He chuckled as his mouth found mine again, teeth digging into tender and kiss swollen lips.
The more I moaned, the deeper inside me his fingers sank, stretching me out, the wet sounds making me both self conscious and almost a feral level of horny. It seemed to be doing the same for him because he growled against my skin as his mouth caught hold of my nipple, teeth latching on, his tongue dragging over the surface slowly until it stood erect, aching at the torture.
“Max!” the moan that came out of me shattered through the soft silence, echoing, making his mouth turn upwards in a smirk as he continued to lick and suck my tits, bucking himself against me from below while his fingers pumped in and out of my dripping heat. “That’s it, princess. C’mon. You can get louder.” he muttered soft against my skin, raising goosebumps to the surface and making me whine and beg.
The more I whined and begged, the slower he seemed to go until I was shaking with each thrust of his fingers or slow drag of his tongue over my nipples. A glance down at my chest showed hickies littering every strip of skin he’d been able to get his mouth on and I bit my lip just to keep from screaming his name out loud, a needy moan escaping instead. “Maxwell, c’mon. I need you. Now.” I grabbed hold of his face again, my mouth diving down against his as I begged and kept rocking myself over the bulge strained at his sweats and against nimble and fast moving fingers as they fucked into me, striking against my spot and sending shivers dancing through my body.
I tried tugging at the waistband of his sweats again and this time, he obliged, drawing his fingers out of my cunt and lifting me a little, working the sweats down his hips and letting them pool at his feet on the floor of the hotel room. I whined as my eyes settled on his thick length, standing at attention and I swallowed hard. Maxwell pushed up the little black dress over my hips and then  lowered me down, his cock splitting me in two, stretching me out and filling me up.
“You need me now, hm?” he questioned, his mouth crashing against mine needy, slow and deep. I got the sense that he needed to hear me say it. That he needed to hear me say everything I felt, actually. With a whimper as he started to fuck into me from below, slowly at first, I grabbed his face in my hands, pulling his mouth back against mine all over again, my lips crashing against his in the neediest kiss I could manage. “Feels so good. So good.” I encouraged, my hips rocking back and forth, making him dig his fingertips into my bare ass, squeezing harder with each deep drive into my pussy.
My head fell back as I rode him faster and he raised a hand, tangling it in my hair, pulling my mouth against his, our teeth scraping and bumping together as his tongue rushed past my parted lips and tangled with mine. My legs circled his waist and the new angle had his hips stammering as he slowed down, pressing hot little kisses and nips against my face and throat, his forehead against mine and our faces so close that whenever he quietly muttered “I’m fucked. I’m absolutely fucked.” and gave a quiet chuckle, his lips brushed against mine and I whimpered, rocking my hips against his shaky thrust and responded quietly, “Why?”
“Because you got to me and that literally never happens. And now I have you and I…” he trailed off and although I wanted to push for him to say more, I got the feeling that it was hard for him.
To my surprise, after a few gentle biting kisses trailing down the side of my neck and across the tops of my breasts, he raised his head and met my gaze again, capturing my mouth in a deep and needy kiss as he groaned out, “I’ll do whatever I have to to keep from losing you. You have me.” he emphasized his words with an even deeper drive into my dripping cunt, immediately bottoming out and pushing me even closer to an orgasm that I was only barely holding back from having, his hips snapping upward, his cock striking my g-spot over and over as he bottomed out and his hands roamed all over my body gently cupping and squeezing, touching me anywhere he could get his hands on me.
“Ah fuck! Bianca.”  Maxwell’s growled words echoed off the walls and he pulled me against him tighter, his mouth latching onto mine in a deep and needy, bruising kiss. My lips were aching and swollen now, I could feel it. “Maxwell, please. I’m so close.” I whimpered, tears starting to sting at my eyes because I simply couldn’t hold off anymore.
“C’mon, princess. Use me. Get off.” Maxwell’s head fell back as he continued to slam into me from below, his fingers digging into my asscheeks deeper, squeezing. “Can’t wait to feel you get my cock wet, baby.” his words were a quiet groan against the shell of my ear, his heavy breathing merging with mine as I started to bounce myself up and down on his cock faster. Deeper. He met each bounce eagerly.
My orgasm shattered through me, leaving me shaky and light-headed but Maxwell kept pumping me up and down on his cock, determined to fuck me right through it and nearly into another one because it all felt so good. Too good. Too much. I almost couldn’t think straight. I latched my lips onto his neck and he groaned quietly, his hips stammering as he slowed down a little and tilted my chin so that i had to look him in the eye, pulling my mouth against his all over again in a lingering and tender kiss as he muttered lazily against my lips that he was getting close and he didn’t want to stop. I gave a helpless and needy whine, nodding my head, begging him not to stop, my pussy still tightly clenched around his cock. “So close, ah.. Fuck. Are you ready, princess?”
“Please?” I begged in a breathy moan, clinging to him as dots danced in front of my eyes and I tried and failed a time or two at actually catching my breath and calming down. I could feel his cock throbbing, the warmth of his seed settling inside, coating me as the excess slowly leaked out. He fell back against the bed and pulled me down on top of him, his arms wrapping around me tight as he buried his nose in the crown of my hair, taking a few long and deep breaths, his cock still buried inside me as we lie there.
“I don’t want to move.” he mumbled quietly, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. “Just wanna stay exactly like this.”
“Me either.” I yawned lazily, my lips pressing against the side of his neck.  I rose up a little to stare down at him and he leaned into my face, his lips feathering against mine as he muttered quietly, “You know I meant all of it… Right?”
I nodded, giving a soft smile as I deepened the kiss. “You don’t say things you don’t mean, remember?”
He chuckled quietly, pulling me back down against him, his hand smoothing over my back, toying with my hair.
