nothing better than insanely researching what is the best kind of a certain product to buy today and finding out that you should just get one made 50 years ago
#today's topic: toaster ovens!#my dad finally put our beloved delonghi out of commission after it blew out another extension cord#so in the interest of not setting our apartment on fire i had to look for a replacement today#ultimately decided on a proctor silex one that was also an air fryer and was pretty reasonable for the price#so clearly i now will own an air fryer.#but a little digging on reddit taught me abt how older toaster ovens used nickel instead of aluminum which is apparently better for heating#and people will be talking abt how their toaster from 71 still works. crazy#i think one day i would love to outfit my hypothetical own place w vintage appliances#partly bc everything looked cooler and also because things used to be made to last. novel concept!#anyway
