Seeing a post about the secondary school you attended and its extreme rules really gives war flashbacks, I swear.
#the tweet was about a boy getting a hour detention every evening and getting put in isolation during day time#just because he cut his hair and they didnt like the style#and just...yeah thats what it was like when i attended it#hair cuts could get you yelled at in class#hair dye could get you in isolation as i was told i would get it if i didnt dye it back to brown as mom dyed it black for me#and i got lucky as teacher could have shoved me into the isolation room without telling my parents that chance to avoid it#and if you were a girl you couldnt wear trousers unless religious reasons#and our skirts were basically policed if we lifted them above our knees#like this school really was extreme about our apperence#i feel so bad for that kid#because what the fuck do they think isolation and detention gonna do? magically grow his back???#all its gonna do is likely get him in the extended detention thing the school has#aka if you get three detentions after school in a term you get shoved in a two week two hour after school detention thing#where you cant leave for anything and need to do homework the entire time#i had it once and it was hell#tho dad gave best advice if they didnt let me leave for toilet: just ask for the plant then and test them on that rule lmao#i didnt need to do it thankfully somehow i held the urge to go in but
