Imagine it was a voicemail though- like Danny is running for his life, or flying, from either his parents or the GIW. He tries calling tucker or Sam or jazz and ends up with Jason’s number unknowingly.

Danny’s talking into the phone like it’s tucker though so he’s all “Tucker it’s the GIW, im- ah!- ow ow ow shit that hurts- Im gonna try to make it to Sam’s but they hit me with something and- and they won’t stop chasing me, I can’t lose them *background noise of shouts and maybe gunshots* shit- I’ll call you back when I ge- *more gunshots and a yelp, then what sounds like the phone being dropped*

A minute later of worrying background sounds and the phone cuts out, leaving one worrying voicemail on Jason’s phone. And Jason is already seeing green from hearing what sounds like a teenager running for his life and getting shot at and possibly-probably- captured.

He calls in a favor from oracle to trace the call to a town called amity, and when he arrives the ghosts are looking for this kid called Phantom and the town is putting up missing posters of a kid called Danny.

He finds Sam and Tucker from the voicemail and gets them to spill the beans. He doesn’t want them involved bc they’re children, but he relents on them helping if they do it from afar and give him all the info he needs.

They fill him in on taking down the GIW, the laws that make kidnapping their friend legal, and how to help Danny recover depending on what state Jason finds him in.

Maybe Jason finds just an icy blue ghost core, maybe he finds a gruesome scene, or even lil baby man, but either way Jason is getting a new son

When Jason Todd woke up that morning to check his texts. He wasn’t expecting this.

When Danny sent that rant text to what he thought was Tuckers number (his old phone got smashed in a recent ghost fight, Sam gave him a new one she wasn’t using, and Tucker was out of town for a while so he couldn’t help Danny transfer his data yet) he wasn’t expecting a rather cyptic response

“Wrong number kid. But just for my own curiosity and concern, who is and where can I find this Fruitloop? I just wanna have a chat with him.”
