i precede this with: i have not fully read even his introductory chapter at this time and thus my knowledge of the character is based on side material (wan, omakes, etc) so i dont actually know much about him yet?

occult nerd mystery writer, tragically loyal friend, i already love the ranpoe dynamic and im very happy at the prospect of that duo become a trio

the wan comic where he ranpo and poe go to the zoo, and the omake where he and poe brainstorm a mystery novel together. i just really like the dillante trio (probably misspelled that)

in general he has alot of good ones when his wild story ideas come up, but for a more normal one him lampshading that diving into another room while being pursued logically should not work to lose pursuers is a funny one

who of the Monogatari Series characters do you believe to prefer solid soap for handwashing and who do you believe to prefer liquid soap for handwashing?

finally my answer arrives for this legendary ask

solid soap likers - ougi. this one is a clear choice-- ougi is a germaphobe and would not want to touch the the handle of a liquid soap thing when they dont know whos been touching it. defeats the whole point of soap. this doesnt apply to the solid soap because you can wash the soap first. also, the friction of the solid soap can help rub out more germs, another point in ougi's book. araragi. i think he would feel like liquid soap is fancy for some reason, and enjoy the luxury of it, but ultimately would stick to the old reliable. karen probably feels the same i think nadeko likes solid soap mostly by elimination, because sometimes liquid soap makes ur hands feel weird, and i feel like if nadeko can’t shake hands bc she hates how it feels i dont think that she would like how some liquid soaps give your hands a weird texture. also she��d probably be nervous about added chemicals also all the specialists are solid soap likers. they are old timers get this fancy weird new soap outta here

i think tsukihi is the same as her siblings but she likes the fanciness when the soap smells good and is all smooth much more than regular boring old soap, even if it is reliable. i think also kanbaru likes liquid soap, not because she thinks its fancy or bc it smells good or whatever, but bc its a little faster and also it doesnt like slip out of your hands when the bar gets worn down too small. somehow i feel like this is a problem she has a lot. maybe bc of her monkey arm but i feel like even after it goes away it probably persists

other than that, everyone else probably doesnt have a preference

ougi is such a fun and silly character. theyre evil and mean af. theyre also weirdly nice sometimes, but in the most indirect ways possible. theyre obsessed with mysteries and mystery novels and make it a point to be as mysterious as possible all the time. theyre genderfluid and trans. they love gaslighting people. they gaslight people into not misgendering them. they play dumb and act like they don't know anything despite having access to information they should not be able to about people. theyre some dudes depression and self-hatred and criticism. theyre also their own person and always have been. they like bicycles bc that same dude lost too many of his in violent incidents. they keep fucking up when they introduce themself to people so they just dont bother and pretend like they've already met half the time. they also say half of that out loud most of the time so it shouldnt work at all but their gaslighting powers make it work anyway. theyre on kaiki levels of looking and acting comically sinister. theyre obsessed with purpose and fulfilling it even if it means they have to be eaten by a fuckin black hole, which is also the same black hole they were pretending to be to fulfill their purpose, which is also also why the black hole wanted to eat them. theyre extremely confident and make decisions very quickly. they have a bad self-image. ppl forget about their existence and things they did half the time mysteriously. they got visibly sad when the guy who they are forgot to give them return chocolates for white day because of it (and not visibly sad that he was refusing to save their life). they love fucking with people and playing pranks and saying unpleasant and offensive things. one of their pranks backfired and they got so flustered from it they had to use their powers to create an anti-person barrier so no one would see what happened. theyre a bookworm. theyre a contrarian. they like making people worse. theyre a germaphobe. they were most likely created in late october, making them A FUCKING SCORPIO, which is quite possibly the most fitting and also hilarious thing for them to be. theyre annoying and rude af and like to upset the balance but also preserve the balance (oftentimes through upsetting the balance). they spin everything into thought provoking and interesting philosophical discussions and they will Not Shut Up truly the character of all time <33333333 love them sm
