idk how to put into words the level of obsession i used to have with rivain back in the day cuz not only were they canonically the only black ppl country back in the day but like their lore was fun and interesting in the few times it got touched upon (pirates! seers! being mostly non andrasteian! their relationship with the qunari!) while being like distant and vague enough that you could fill in the blanks yourself and i ran with that shit. the fact that in datv i could 1. be from rivain and 2. there were just overtly black characters kind of scattered throughout the world now too was huge for the 18 yo version of me yelling on the internet trying my best to make all the content i couldnt find because god help me the fandom barely wanted to acknowledge the blackness that existed let alone add More.
