i hope every real estate company/landlord that buys a house built before 1965 and unnecessarily guts the inside to turn it into a greige marble countertop open concept plastic “wood” floor one gas fireplace no crown molding bright white LEDs everywhere stainless steel appliances boring two-tone exterior paint job ripping out all of the foliage on the land zero built-in spaces outside of the kitchen and closets “style” dies slowly and painfully when their time comes or perhaps even prematurely

#txt #like i understand if there’s issues with the house being unoccupied for a long time #like obviously if there’s issues w how it is then it should be fixed #but these ppl take perfectly good beautiful old houses and make them look like shit!!#SHIT!!!!#absolutely no style personality character #everything is cheaply made and will never last even half as long as what came before it #lack of foliage makes you have to use your heat and AC more often #and open concepts are dangerous and rack up an absolutely insane electric bill #they used to have fireplaces in every room in houses like this bc you could just heat that one room!!!!!#it all makes me angry esp knowing i want a very old beautiful home one day but will… never find that #whether it’s out of my monetary abilities or atp all of them have been transformed into these #soulless suburban cookie cutter homes #i’ll have to settle for some cheaply made farmhouse style shit #like i saw a pic of beatrix potters home on here the other day #and literally teared up bc of how much i want smth like that
