Gareth adjusts the mic on his collar. Beside him, Eddie's fidgeting, Jeff is texting and Goodie's head is tipped back like he's sleeping or counting the ceiling tiles.

It's the usual press junket. The same ten questions they all answer, over and over again. It's a goddamn bore.

"One more question," the journalist says.

She turns her iPad towards them. It's a picture of Gareth, standing on a sidewalk, a lit cigarette in his hand.

Yeah, he smokes when he's stressed sometimes, sue him.

"Any comment?"

Eddie leans forward, looking more closely, "Yeah. Don't smoke, kids."

Everybody laughs, and Gareth thinks that's it, until the reporter swipes to the left and another picture fills the screen. Eddie's not looking at the screen anymore. Now, Eddie's looking at Gareth.

Steve comes in out of fucking nowhere, "No comment. We're done here."

And they are. The room is cleared, and they make a quiet trip back to the hotel.

Only after the door closes, does Eddie wheel on him.

"What the fuck is going on? Did you get a girl pregnant, and what? Just not tell any of us?"

Gareth quickly looks at Steve, and Eddie doesn't miss the flick of his eyes.

"Oh, you're fucking kidding me. Steve knew? Before me?"

And Gareth can't really determine if Eddie's mad that he's gonna be a dad or that Steve knew before he did.

"He's Steve. He manages everything. I was waiting until the tour was over to tell you."

"Are you with her?" Eddie asks. "Is this why you've been bailing on us?"

"We're taking it slow," Gareth answers. He likes her. Could love her. But they agreed to focus on this first.

"Yeah, looks real slow to me."

"And I haven't bailed. I haven't missed shit."

"Eddie," Steve says, trying to rein Eddie in before he's too revved up.

Too late.

"How goddamn stupid are you? She got you good, kid."

Gareth clenches his fists, instantly mad, because that's not true. Not at all. He doesn't think this was some scheme to baby trap him and milk him for money. Corroded Coffin is famous, but they aren't so rich and famous that he'd be a mark for that kind of plotting.

He had a one night stand, and she got pregnant. She told him. They made the decision together to proceed.

"That's not fucking true. The condom didn't work."

"That's convenient. She probably poked holes in it."

"Well, it was mine, so..."

Eddie just stares at him, before finally saying, "Mark my words, because you're definitely getting an 'I told you so' when you're nothing but a checkbook and never see this kid."

"Eddie," Steve warns, and Eddie turns on him.

"And you? Not telling me."

"It wasn't for me to tell," Steve says, calmly. Because Eddie can't ruffle Steve's feathers, not like he can Gareth's. Steve won't allow it. There's no steamrolling of Steve Harrington by Eddie Munson.

"She looks like she's about ready to pop! How long have you known?" Eddie demands.

Gareth's known for months. He just didn't know how to tell Eddie, because Eddie would be worried about the tour, the album, and everything else that affects Eddie.

Gareth knows Eddie loves him, but Eddie still thinks he's a kid that needs tending to, even if that hasn't been true in years.

"A while."

"Where does this girl even live?"

"She's a woman. We're both over thirty, yet you're acting like I preyed on a groupie."

Steve interjects, "I'm in contact with her dad, he's a lawyer. We're getting the parenting plan hammered out so Gareth can co-parent."

"Co-parent a kid from where?" Eddie repeats.

"Omaha."

"Omaha. That's great. Convenient for us all."

"Well, it's centrally located," Steve offers. They both ignore him.

"She probably sold those pictures. No paps were in fucking Omaha."

"I think it was probably a fan…" Steve trails off, trying to bring reason to an unreasonable fight.

"I don't know what you want me to do, Eddie. I can't unring this bell."

And, honestly, he doesn't want to.

"You were smoking near her. Good job, dad."

"Did you see her when I was smoking? Fucking no. Because she wasn't there yet. Goddamn. You judgmental asshole."

Eddie huffs dramatically, "This is a fucking mess. If Steve wants to help, that's fine. But I'm not."

Gareth nods as Eddie storms off, and he'll come around. Gareth can't have a kid Eddie won't have anything to do with.

This'll blow over. It has to.

But Eddie's still mad. Weeks later. After the show, Steve's waiting with a smile, "You're having a baby. Wheels up in an hour."

"Oh shit," Gareth says, "too early?"

"No," Steve says, "just unwilling to consult the tour schedule. Already rude, just like you."

Gareth laughs, and runs towards the dressing room to shower. He passes Eddie without a word, but tells Jeff and Goodie the news.

Eddie pretends he doesn't hear, and Gareth can't dwell on the fact that he's losing his best friend. Has maybe already lost him.

His daughter is coming, no matter how Eddie feels.

And an hour later, when Gareth is climbing the stairs of the borrowed private plane, Steve is the one behind him. Jeff and Goodie, already on board.

The plane is crawling across the tarmac, when Goodie speaks, "Hey, wait, there's Eddie."

Sure enough, Eddie's on one of those little carts, being shuttled by airport staff, arms waving.

They must radio for the pilot to stop, and Eddie eventually slides into the seat next to Gareth.

"So, we're having a baby," Eddie says, and that's enough of an apology for now, because he needs Eddie.

There's a beat, and then Eddie asks, "Are you sure it's yours? You've never been early a day in your life."

Gareth laughs, "I'm sure. She must get that from her mom."

Eddie smiles, "We're having a girl?"

Gareth nods.

Eddie leans over and kisses Gareth's head, "Sorry, I'm late."

It's okay. Gareth thinks he's right on time.

Notes: Lord, I think one was edited and changed and fiddled with the most to stay at 1000 words but say everything I wanted to say. Take away ten, add twenty-seven. Rinse, repeat. There was a whole flash-forward at the end that just had to go for word count reasons. But just know. It works out, for all of them. ❤️

As if Steve hasn’t already been walking on clouds for the past month, overjoyed at the fact that he finally got to touch and kiss the boy he’d been so helplessly infatuated with that he just had to take a chance, and pray that he hadn’t been reading into things wrong. “Where do you think you’re going, baby?” Steve purrs, and Eddie’s already flushed cheeks turn an even deeper shade of red. (He always blushes when Steve calls him that. Damn, now that Steve thinks about it, that should have been an obvious clue.)

“I dunno,” Eddie mumbles, rubbing a palm across his eyes. “Anywhere. Somewhere you’re not laughing at me, preferably.”

“I’m not laughing at you,” Steve replies softly, tucking a strand of Eddie’s unruly hair behind his ear. His fingers linger on the earshell, tracing its shape, and Eddie absolutely melts into the touch. “We can take things slow, if you want. But you don’t need to worry about this. It’s not a bad thing, Eds. It’s great, in fact.”

“How the hell is me being a lame 20-year-old virgin great ?!” Eddie stares at him in disbelief.

Steve’s smile turns into yet another grin.

“Okay,” Steve says again, his thoughts slightly hazy with horny anticipation. “May I have this dance?”

It’s definitely the right move, because after a brief stunned silence, Eddie bursts out laughing, dropping his head as he takes Steve’s hand and lets himself be pulled up to his feet.

Scoop's Ahoy was a lovely and well lit place. Looking around you notice the bananas hanging on the doorframe that probably allows the employees to access the break or storage room. From what Eddie had heard and seen it must have been the break room.

The bell in the front rings, making Eddie turn his head to look that way.

Steve's face was stuck in an unamused grin, trying to upkeep the friendliness. But he could tell that Steve needed some help. The group of young girls semmed to be abusing the companion policy of tasting the ice cream before buying. When he saw the Sinclair girl he laughed, he'd played dnd with her a few times. "She is smart, very smart..and you're too kind sometimes." He fixed his hat and smiled a little forced. That's when Eddie decided to make his day.. well worse or better. And shoot his shot finally.

"You know Harrington that little outfit really brings out your eyes" he cooed, grinning like the brat he loved to be. Especially if that meant getting laid by Steve Harrington. he might even be flirting a little bit, but ofc he'd never admit to that to be honest. He growled lowly. "Don't say that. You know how much I hate the hat." he said trying to fix his hat. "It ruins my best feature." He argued. Just making you smile widely.

"Anyway Harrington, I'd like to order one scoop of chocolate chip" you said, scanning the layout of the different ice cream flavours. "Ah, I'm sorry that was all eaten by those little monsters, you better go for… salted caramel" he suggested, knowing Eddie liked that flavor, as he'd ordered it the last time.

"Okay then that.. I actually love that one a lot." Eddie hated to admit that Harrington was right but.. steve was so handsome that he'd almost forgotten his plan.

His eyes were soft whereas his expression was a little mad. "You're still gonna pay for this.." he murmured while scooping your ball of ice cream flawlessly. Steve handed Eddie the cone and their fingers inevitably touched, sending chills down Eddies spine.

KAYA’S STEDDIE-FIC WEEK PART 2 🕺🏻💃🏻

1. Lovesick in Loch Nora by @red-0ak-tree

THIS is literally the scriptures, THIS is the ancient texts of Steddie, I’m not even kidding… if I’m trying to get someone into Steddie & reading fics, this is what I’m showing them… the Steddie dynamic is so beautiful and so palpable, and I don’t think I’ve every seen the characters sound SOOO much like themselves (ngl I have a theory this was written by one of the ST writers who wanted to make Steddie happen but the producers wouldn’t let them because COWARDS)… I finished this and immediately went to read it again, purely for the experience of it… most definitely in the top 3 fics I’ve ever read

2. the most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it’s you by @greatunironic

let me just start out by saying how OBSESSED I am with the title, and then continue by telling y’all how much this fic DESTROYED me and put me back together at the same time?!?! there’s so much beauty and so much pain in this fic, it’s so emotional, vulnerable and authentic… I’d almost forgotten that feeling of when you hang onto an author’s EVERY WORD, but this fic reminded me of that feeling in every single way

3. stereoscope by @seraphhy

this fic is so beautiful in the most painful ways possible (don’t recommend reading while on period, speaking from personal experience 🥲)… if you’re looking for fluff, this is NOT the fic for you, but if you’re an emotional masochist like me, you literally HAVE TO read it, I don’t make the rules… god, there’s just something about Steve being broken and Eddie putting him back together over and over and over again, isn’t there? and don’t even get me started on the turn of phrase in this one… just magnificent

4. The Shire is NOT on Fire by kissesforcas (not sure if this author is on Tumblr)

this fic is like a warm hug, but if the warm hug had really good smut lmao… the premise of this is that Eddie & the kids drag Steve to a renaissance festival/LARP convention, and ofc stuff happens because Steve in fantasy costumes (I’ve never related to Eddie more phaha)… them flirting in this one had me giggling and kicking my feet like a schoolgirl, occasionally even in public but I really couldn’t help myself

to sum up, this might be my favourite week of Steddie fics ever ever ever, they’re all such classics and I’m so beyond grateful I got to read and experience them… I laughed, I screamed, I cried, I mourned, and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat ♥️

I didn't really respond much in the beginning but I try to respond every time now. Even if it's just a heart or "i loved this," I want everyone to know that I appreciate them taking the time to read AND leave a comment.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

holy palmers' kiss I suppose has the angstiest ending considering it exists in the canonverse. At the very end, Steve thinks "Maybe we can save each other," but we know from a fan perspective that Eddie dies because Steve isn't there to save him that Steve and Eddie live happily ever after.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

This is entirely personal opinion because I really only do HEAs lol It's either my big boy The Fool, The World, and Everything in Between because Steddie fight to live as normal a life as possible in the wake of s4 and end up getting engaged at the end, or it's Best friends, ex-friends ‘til the end (better off as lovers) because they bonded, like, a day into being reunited because they were soulmates.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Aside from one comment from someone being marginally racist about how Italians aren't darker skinned (Steve is Sicilian in one of my series and Sicilians are notoriously darker skinned), not really. But I recently heard that some people use priv bookmarks to make sure they avoid reading something again, and while I think that's counterproductive to the bookmark count, I don't really want to know if it's happened to me.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yep! Almost exclusively, but I do have a few fics that are smut-free which I'm always surprised by. All Steddie, all gay, and it ranges from soft love-making to filthy, dirty, wet and messy sex.

10. Do you write crossovers?

The only crossover I've written was for Marvel, and that only counts on a technicality that it was a crossover between Eternals and Daredevil.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of, but I haven't actually scoured the internet to check. I hope if something was stolen, the people reading it still enjoyed it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I think so? I had a HP fic translated into Russian but I never followed up on the website to see if it ever got posted.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

When I wrote the Marvel fic, yes. I was working on and Eternals Ikaris/OFC while my best friend wrote a Daredevil/OFC and my other friend wrote a Jessica Jones/OFC, and we had them all in the same room multiple times.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

Steddie, hands down. Nothing has had be in a chokehold quite like this.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

So many, and I've lost interest at the moment in one I was actually posting, but I'm hoping to pick it back up after the Big Bang is finished. Probably with massive re-writes.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm funny, so I would like to say I have a lot of really solid lines in fics that make people laugh out loud. Also my world-building tends to be extensive (so much plot in my porn every damn time), but I don't want to classify that as a weakness so strength it is.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I don't tend to plan things out. I usually have a scene or two in mind and then I write around them and piece it together like Frankenstein's Monster. It's worked out for me so far, but I wish I planned things better sometimes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it a few times. For my Italian Steve/Mexican Eddie series I have both boys speaking second languages but not well lol I just make it part of the bit because, like Eddie in this, I also speak Spanish but not well. This is my official request that if you do speak another language that I've written in and it's wrong, feel free to let me know lol

19. First fandom you wrote for?

My Chemical Romance. I was 13. We don't talk about it.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

I'm really attached to The Fool, The World, and Everything in Between because it's a chonky boy (107k words) and it took me 9 months to write, but We'd rather be six feet under (than be lonely) is a very close second because I really got to play with Steve's inner monologue there and I think the approach I took to the fake dating trope was really original.

WAIT, WHAT ABOUT A STEDDIE GOOD OMENS AU? Eddie is hell's most terrible demon. As in, he completely fails at being sufficiently evil all the time. He is, at most, a nuisance. Then we have heaven's best angel, Steve, who was charged with being a guardian and love humanity, and threw himself headfirst into it to the point that when Heaven decided it was time to end the world he was like, 'uh that's where all the humans live? So, hard pass on Armageddon, thanks!' I don't think they have an Arrangement like Aziraphale and Crowley do, though, and probably they actively avoid each other until the whole antichrist situation pops up.

Then we can have them agree to attempting to raise Dustin to prevent Armageddon because they think he's the antichrist except, surprise! It's actually El who's devil-spawn, and she grew up to be kind and loving despite the misery that was her life. And actually, Eddie and Steve decide this worked out well because if Dustin had had antichrist powers, he probably would've taken over the world in a heartbeat because Eddie and Steve both kinda suck at their jobs.

Nancy and Jonathan are obviously Anathema and Pulsifer. I think we'll have Robin be an angel sent down to Earth and "apprenticed" to Steve as punishment because she annoyed Gabriel one too many times. Chrissy is there too as Eddie's liaison to hell. She likes him and definitely encourages his shenanigans while reporting to hell that Eddie is doing fantastic evil on Earth so they both can keep their jobs.

Eddie cheerleads Chrissy into going after Robin because 1) he wants his bestie to be happily together with her crush and 2) she'd definitely get a promotion in hell for seducing an angel. Meanwhile Steve actually gets very protective of Robin and is mega suspicious of Chrissy's intentions. He makes sure they're never alone together and will go so far as to physically put himself between them if he thinks Chrissy is getting to close to Robin.

Eddie decides to be the best wingman which obviously means it is his duty to distract Steve so Chrissy can shoot her shot. What better way to distract him than by flirting outrageously? Sure he's teased Steve consistently throughout the millennia but it was mostly just to get Steve all huffy and irritated rather than to, like, seduce him. Steve gets incredibly flustered annoyed under Eddie's new type of attention and is very thoroughly distracted by it.

(ofc it turns out that even though Steve is an angel who should be above such things as carnal sin, he's actually VERY experienced in the sack. Eddie, by contrast, might be the most virginal demon to have ever existed and really has no idea what to do when Steve starts giving Eddie as good as he gets; they're essentially playing gay chicken except for how they're both ethereal/occult beings without any human sex or gender, but they do have wings so the chicken bit still applies)

Then other stuff happens and they all fall in love and live happily on Earth with the occasional confrontation with Heaven and/or Hell whenever one of their sides tries to start some apocalypse or other again!

A Behind the Scenes of: Domestic Life in '93

Jonathan gives insight into a few of the more domestic photos that have been taken in 1993 with the help of Argyle.

“Hi, I’m Jonathan Byers, the main photographer and editor of A Collection of Queer Photography. Today I’m giving you a behind the scene look of the photos on 148 and 149, which are more domestic photos from ‘93,” Jonathan starts out the video, still awkward, despite having done it multiple times before.

“A big point of the book was showing that we lived normal lives,” Jonathan says. “We of course wanted to show the big things that happened, but most of the time it was just us living our lives and we wanted to show that the most.”

“So, I picked a page of domestic photos to talk about here,” Jonathan says. “Lets start on page 148 which has Sitting Together on the upper left side.”

The photo that appears is of Eddie on a big plush chair in his apartment with Steve. He is sprawled over it like it is a throne, smirking lazily down at Steve, who is sitting on the ground in front of him, head resting against Eddie’s thigh as Eddie plays with his hair.

“This was taken right after they moved to their new apartment,” Jonathan says. “Robin had won the couch in the rock paper scissors, but then it broke in the move and neither of them had a couch yet, only chairs.”

“Eddie is sitting on his throne,” Jonathan continues. “He has a flair for the dramatics and this was his DM chair. It came in the mail and they invited us over to come look at it. God, he was so fucking proud. He had it custom made, I’ll ask who did it and if they’re still in business I’ll put a link in the description. Is it description?”

“It is, baby boy,” Argyle answers from behind the camera.

Jonathan nods, then says: “I like this photo of Steve and Eddie, because it shows their dynamic, which I’m not going to get into, since it’s not my relationship. But it also shows how happy Eddie is with his chair and how stubborn Steve can be when he’s hosting. He refused to let one of us sit on the ground. But also how Eddie tries to make him comfortable anyway with the hair. Little details like that can really make or break a photo.”

“Next to it is Gossiping,” Jonathan says and the image appears on screen. It’s of Nancy, Robin and Steve on the couch in Robin and Rose’s apartment. Robin is in the middle, holding a magazine in her lap as both Nancy and Steve look along over her shoulder, the three of them giggling.

“We often hung out at each other places in that time and I remember Nancy giddily coming home with that magazine,” Jonathan laughs. “She tries to keep up with all news, even shitty news, to know the rumors floating about. She immediately called the others to go hang out. It was Eddie’s first front page scandal. Apparently, he was in a committed relationship with a girl he’d been spotted with.”

“What I think is funny about the photo is how delighted the three of them look about it. Not one second did anyone doubt that it was true and it was just a fun joke. Taking the piss out of the things that come with fame,” Jonathan says.

“The photo that we had to cut is of Eddie,” Jonathan tells the camera. “He was sitting in the corner and pouting about it. It was pretty funny. I like to think we kept him humble throughout this years and this photo is a small ode to making fun of friends together.”

“And on the bottom of page 148 is R&R, which is a pun, because it’s Robin and Rose as well as rest and relaxation,” Jonathan moves on.

The photo is of Robin and Rose, both of them are wearing a face mask. It has been taken during a spa night they organized at their apartment. They’re facing each other, both sitting crisscrossed on the floor. Robin is painting Rose’s nails, her tongue poking out in concentration.

“Robin and Rose still organize spa days when we all get together,” Jonathan says. “Rose almost became a beautician, before deciding on becoming a librarian and she took it upon herself to give Robin a skin care routine, which obviously meant Steve got dragged into it and Eddie and then it snowballed into all of us.”

“What I really love about this photo is how concentrated Robin is,” Jonathan says. “She’s one of the most clumsy people I’ve met and her own nail polish is always a mess, where Rose’s is always freakishly neat. And Robin is trying so hard to get it right and Rose loves her so much that she doesn’t even care as long as Robin is holding her hands. It’s very cute.”

“Page 148 are all taken at the Munson apartments, while page 149 was all our apartment, so the page form a little bit of a split,” Jonathan says. “Most of the time we ended up at their apartments, since they were bigger and since Eddie didn’t accidentally want to lead paparazzi to our place. It’s sweet, but also kind of shitty that that is the case.”

“I might be a photographer, but I like to have respect for the people on the other side of my lens. The pictures you get are uncomfortable otherwise. Sadly, I learned that through trial and error, something I’m not proud of, but I’m glad it taught me what it did,” Jonathan confesses.

“Now onto the first image, which is Night Off, which Eddie took” Jonathan continues on.

Night Off is of the couch in the new Byers apartment. On it are Argyle, Jonathan and Nancy. Nancy has her legs thrown over the back of the couch and her head hanging off it, her eyes are red and hooded. In her hand is a half-forgotten joint. Next to her Argyle and Jonathan are making out, their joints in the ashtray on the table in front of them.

Jonathan blushes a little as he says: “As you can see, we’re a little high.”

“And making out!” Argyle comments happily from behind the camera.

It serves to loosen Jonathan up about it as he laughs and agrees: “And making out. We should get you a mic as well, so you can keep commenting.”

“Hell yeah,” Argyle agrees.

“So, yeah, me and Argyle are making out,” Jonathan gets back on track. “It had been a busy week for everyone, so Eddie got everyone joints so we could have a fun night off.”

He looks back up from the photo and says: “We debated a lot if we should put photos where we were high in, because we wanted to be taken seriously and it was a crime at the time. But we decided to put it in. We wanted to be seen in our entirely, to show the parts other might not agree with and still force them to see us as human, so the ones where we’re high got in here.”

“Eddie took this while high and we found a few blurry ones of the same moment as he fumbles, which was kinda funny,” Jonathan says. “But I like how the smoke gives it a little more dingy vibe, as if we’re in a club, while the décor screams the opposite. It makes it a little odd, but in a good way.”

“This photo also very much shows that we are not all cheating on each other,” the comment sounds a little snippy and he lets out a sigh.

“You okay, baby boy?” Argyle asks.

“Yeah,” Jonathan sighs again. “Just need to stay of twitter for a little bit. Some of these people are really getting to me.”

“Want me to kiss it better?”

“Please.”

There is a shuffling noise and a little groan, before the video cuts. Jonathan looks a little flushed as he smiles into the camera as he mumbles: “Lets move onto the next one, which is Love Is a Battleship that Argyle took.”

The photo is of Jonathan and Nancy. They’re sitting at the table, a game of battleship in front of them. Neither of them are winning or loosing, both brows furrowed in concentration as they try to snuff the other out.

“Me and Nance like playing games together,” Jonathan says. “We’re both the oldest siblings, so our entire childhood has been filled with younger siblings getting extra turns and being exceptions, so they can win, which has made us a little competitive.”

“A little?” Argyle snorts.

“A lot,” Jonathan corrects. “We are sticklers for the rules. We try to be less knife on the table about it when we play with others, but it’s nice to sometimes be extremely competitive when we play.”

“And then the last one on these pages, Long Day taken by Nancy,” Jonathan says after a small break.

Long Day is a photograph of Argyle and Jonathan. Jonathan is sitting on the couch with Argyle, who is next to him, legs thrown over Jonathan’s lap as he buries his face into the crook of Jonathan’s neck. One of Jonathan’s hands is carding through Argyle’s hair, the other is rubbing soothing circles on his knee.

“This is a more vulnerable moments, but they’re very important,” Jonathan explains. “Of course there are big tragedies in here, but the everyday can be hard too sometimes. We have our fun nights, our daily moments of rest and our hard days.”

He turns to the spot next to the camera and asks: “Do you remember this day?”

The video cuts and Argyle is now next to Jonathan, he’s looking around as he says: “This shit is whack from this side, bro.”

“It’s our living room, love,” Jonathan smiles fondly as he points it out. “And you’ve been on this side already.”

“But I didn’t sit down then, buttercup,” Argyle argues. “It feels more official now.”

“Just be you,” Jonathan says encouragingly.

“That’s my line,” Argyle smiles back.

Jonathan rolls his eyes as he grabs the book again to show Argyle the photo and get the two of them back on track.

“Running a restaurant is fucking stressful,” Argyle says. “That day one of our serves fell away, so I had to step in there, while also assisting in the kitchen. It was just a nightmare all around. I think I spilled my drink a few minutes before this photo was taken.”

“Sometimes a small thing can be the thing that breaks you,” Jonathan agrees with a nod where he is listening to Argyle.

“Luckily, I have wonderful partners to cheer me up,” Argyle grins back, pecking Jonathan’s nose, which causes him to flush and melt.

Trying to hide it, Jonathan comments: “It’s always miraculous to me how you can look so small when you’re so tall.”

“Chef’s secrets,” Argyle winks.

Jonathan rolls his eyes fondly, then signs off: “So, yeah, that is a behind the scene of the photos on page 148 and 149. Hopefully that was interesting. Thank you Argyle for your cameo.”

“It was fun, baby boy,” Argyle grins, before waving: “Like and subscribe, brocachos. Bye.”

“Bye,” Jonathan echoes, sending Argyle a weird look. He obviously isn’t familiar enough with YouTube to know that way of ending a video

If It Makes You Happy

"What's the big rush?" Eddie asks, propping his feet up on the coffee table, in another hotel room, in another city. Another tour date among dozens of others. Nothing particularly special about it.

"Nothin'. Just, you know. Stuff," Goodie says, "I'll be back later. Don't wait up."

"Well, where are you goin'? Maybe I wanna go with," Eddie says, and that's not happening.

Not no way, not no how.

"Nowhere," Goodie says, "stop harassing me."

"Stop being so weird, and I will," Eddie pops off, slipping a cigarette between his lips.

Eddie won't stop being intrusive, never will, and being harassed by Eddie is just part of life. Has been since Goodie was a teen.

"I have plans, okay? Without you."

"Do you have a date?" Eddie asks, sitting up.

"Yes. Happy? I have a date."

"Gareth! Gareth!" Eddie screams, "Goodie has a date!" Eddie bleats, hoping to draw Gareth out of the neighboring suite.

Gareth doesn't show up, and Goodie is getting out of here before any more questions can be asked.

"Gotta go. Gonna be late," Goodie says, slipping his leather jacket over his shoulders, "for my date."

Goodie gets into the taxi outside of the hotel, and has the cabbie take him right back to the venue that they played at last night.

When he gets out, he looks at the ticket that's burning a hole in his pocket.

Front row, dead center.

Sheryl Crow.

Goodie is impatiently waiting for the opening act to get on with it, when he's jostled from the side, and when he turns to look…

Eddie.

He tilts his head back, as if to ask God why? What did he ever do to deserve this?

Eddie jabs his fingers into his ribs on his way by, and Goodie swats him away. Then sees that Gareth and Jeff are flanked by security, squeezing past everyone else around, drawing a whole shitpot full of attention onto themselves. Jeff is falling over himself apologizing, but nobody gives a fuck, because they aren't known. Not here. Not in this crowd, which is what Goodie had counted on when he planned to come all by himself.

Blend in.

Fucking Steve Harrington.

Steve must have told Eddie, and then got them all tickets. Not just the one, single ticket Goodie had requested to have a night to himself, looking up at Sheryl Crow. Listening to her sing and play the guitar, like a badass.

Now, he has to look at Eddie, Jeff and Gareth. And that's way less enticing of a prospect.

He's been stuck looking at their ugly mugs for the past decade.

He knew Eddie dating Steve was a horrible, terrible, awful idea right from the start.

And there is the little Judas now. Steve is pulling up the rear with Robin, and Goodie glares, and Steve looks back at him, absolutely unphased. Asshole.

After the show, they pile out of the arena with the rest of the crowd, and Eddie leans into him as they walk to the waiting van, their driver sitting behind the wheel.

Once they're situated, Eddie wraps his arms around Goodie's neck from behind, tight, squeezing, choking him a little.

"Just tell us if you want to do something, next time."

And Goodie nods.

Then Eddie slaps a shirt over his shoulder.

Goodie pulls it down, and laughs. It's her silhouette, backed with blue.

It's cool, and something he'd have picked for himself if maybe he'd been alone.

"I expect you to wear it tomorrow night on stage."

"Don't think I won't," Goodie answers, dryly.

Eddie squeezes his shoulders, shaking him, "If it makes you happy, then it can't be that bad," he teases, leaning over the backseat, talking right into Goodie's ear.

And then he kisses the back of Goodie's head, and the rest of them laugh.

The next night, he does wear the shirt, with his leather jacket over it.

And there's a girl in the front row that points at it, and then makes a heart with her hands.

Maybe this will be his new lucky shirt.

He thinks that really might be true when she's waiting outside of the stage door, looking for him. Not Eddie. Not Jeff. Not Gareth.

Him.

And it is his lucky shirt.

Every goddamn night he wears it, he pulls, and without much effort. The women damn nearly throw themselves at him.

Gareth is seething with jealousy, as Goodie holds his hotel room door open for the woman from last night to be on her way.

She runs her hand over his chest, and leans up to kiss him again.

The shirt, now soft with wear and magic, is the best thing that ever happened to him.

And then it's lost in the laundry.

Steve's gonna die. Goodie will make sure of it.

"It'll turn up," Steve says, not looking up from his clipboard.

"Steve. I need it."

"It. Will. Turn. Up," Steve stresses, and then walks away.

Goodie resigns himself to a dry spell, but he takes the stage, and kind of forgets about it.

He gets the same attention he got the last time he wore it.

And that happens again. And again.

Then, about a month later, Eddie slaps it over his shoulder again, just like he did the first night.

"It was never the shirt. I don't know why it finally gave you the confidence to flirt back with women, but it did and I just wanted you to know it was you. Not the shirt."

Goodie doesn't say anything, can't think of what he could possibly say to that.

It's still his favorite shirt. The most comfortable one he owns, and he wears it at least once a week, but now, it's not always on stage.

Sometimes he wears it on travel days, or off-days, when nobody sees him but the guys.

And, yeah, sometimes he still wears it on stage, even as the print fades. Because he likes it.

But he doesn't need it.

Not anymore.

Some Wayne Munson hcs about Steddie relationship

ft. Genderfluid Mexican Eddie - Everyones lives ofc

We all know Wayne loves Eddie as his child since they appeared on the door of his trailer. Eddie was always welcomed and accepted without matter if they were gay, or he, or she, or anything they were. In the end, they were Eddie Munson, his nephew. The kid who talked in Spanish the first months just to make it hard for Wayne and got surprised when he replied in their language. Maybe that cheap dictionary and the help of his coworkers helped a little. He still had to learn one or two things with this new kid.

But still, he accepts them & tries his best to support them in many things. Wanna play guitar until 2 am? fine, just not that loud for the neighbors to come angry. There's a comic you can't find here? let me find it in Indy on the next trip. Wanna be called she/them? I will do it without a problem. Want to cook some Mexican dishes because suddenly you crave them at 4 am? Ammm... Yeah but remember I can't eat that much cheese, kid.

For Wayne is completely normal Eddie would come one day with a big smile and red cheeks and he will be happy to ask what's going on. Because Wayne knows Eddie deserves the best, he deserves a man that makes him happy & lets him be himself. At least he deserves his first romance even if it is in a little town. So he is happy when Eddie gets all shy & Wayne jokes around about him finding his Ozzy. Eddie laughs.

Because he did find someone as metal as Ozzy but not in the way Wayne thought about. And his face changed when he heard the name. STEVE HARRINGTON?

Doesn't help either that at the time Eddie disappeared and finished in the hospital all fucked up, Steve Harrington was around. Wayne does remember those days, being in the hospital, and how these kids and new friends would visit Eddie. It wasn't weird for Eddie to take younger weirdos, freaks, and outcasts under his wing, but for sure Steve Harrington didn’t fit that. He was in the hospital too, and at the moment he could leave… he still came back to visit and help Eddie. But Wayne kept alert.

Steve can see how dry Wayne talks with him or how he change his tone and expression when is around the hospital room. He is always "Steve Harrington" with a big emphasis on HARRINGTON. The rich s.o.b guy lives in the fancy zone and didn’t care about the other people in the town. For sure not people like the Munson. So he thinks is weird when Steve offers his help to take care of Eddie while he is at work, how he hears the nurses talking sweet words on how thoughtful he is to help them clean Eddie’s wounds and body. Doesn’t help either that part of the town still hates them, and Steve is openly there with them without matter.

Wayne frowns and decides not to accept Steve’s pity or whatever he is doing, but he can’t help to rethink when he arrives with groceries, because he knows Wayne has no time between the hospital, the legal issues, and his job. Also, the last time he went to the store, it was uncomfortable to have eyes and gossip around. He can’t help to just call him ‘Steve’ from time to time when he helps around the new trailer, the hospital drives, and how much he cares about Eddie.

And even more when he is always around to help a weak Eddie that woke up from a coma. Steve would come with groceries, help clean and cook around, almost making himself part of the family of two, just being out when he needed to take care of the other kids and his new job. Wayne frowns at him from time to time and still talks with Eddie about being careful because the Harringtons aren’t that great.

But that day that Eddie arrives all red and on the clouds, he has to reassure him, Steve is a good guy and maybe there's something between them. And yes there's something between them that gets formal weeks later. And Steve tries his best. Always polite, always sure not to cross lines with a joke or even just wait in the car for Eddie. But little by little he wins Wayne's respect and Eddie helps with it.

Eddie talks out loud about their dates with Steve when eating dinner with Wayne. Eddie tells him how Steve drives the kids and Robin around. How he helps them with projects and school, and how he cares about Max as a big brother. How he and Dustin are always messing around as if they were brothers too. Wayne can’t ignore how Eddie’s face glows when he talks about Steve, in the same way as they talk about music, their books, and about those D&D campaigns. And like the last one, he can’t understand but he knows that makes them happy. And, honestly, if Eddie is happy, what else fucking matters?

Wayne realizes this Eddie with more friends and a boyfriend is one of the best versions of themselves. One version he wants to keep watching, growing, and being better. Who knows if this relationship with Steve will keep going for years or will be for some months, at least Eddie is happy and full of energy, being their real self.

That’s why that winter weekend when Steve is waiting in the car, Wayne opens the door of the trailer to go and knock on the window.

“Oh, sorry, sir? Should I move?” Steve asks and Wayne laughs because his face is full of fear of fucking up something.

“Sir? I’m not that old, kiddo.” Wayne opens the door. “Listen, Mister Edward there is taking their sweet time so, wanna come in for a hot cup of coffee?”

He would love to laugh at Steve’s expression, how he almost hits himself because of the nervous feeling of being invited inside by Wayne.

“Of course, sir…”

“Sir again? I will let you out in the cold if you call me sir again.” he laughs, opening the door. “How do you take your coffee, Steve?”

If this guy makes Eddie happy, he for sure deserves the respect he has winning little by little, showing that he isn’t Steve Harrington. He is just Steve, and that makes the young man smile widely, hearing a different tone and a homely invitation to sit on the sofa.

And yeah, maybe later on he would be called son. But for now, that’s a win.

Hello!!! Thanks for asking <3 Okay so I'm going to talk about the Steddie LARP AU in general!

I've said things here and there about it, but the reception to it had been so good for something that I gave maybe two seconds of thought to when I opened the empty document and started typing.

Originally it was supposed to be a whole 'omg STEVE is asking ME to teach him how to play DND?' thing where Eddie falls in love with Steve (ofc) and they play relatively normal games together and slowly discover things about each other that they can carry into real life - a type of fic that explores their personalities in depth and is kind of interwoven in a more subtle and Themes kind of way (For example, personality traits that Steve has that come out through his character, NOT on purpose, just things that influence things anyway. And maybe Eddie falls in love with the kind of guy his character is first, and THEN realizes Steve is who he's actually in love with, I never really got to that part) Instead what I wrote was like. Way hornier and maybe a less direct way of exploring their personalities but somehow way less subtle too. Usually when I write I try to add in lots of clues to the other person's experience despite not having their POV in the fic, lots of body language and guessing/assumptions from the POV character, etc. But in this one Eddie really sees Steve as like... maybe on a pedestal still even after the events of the fourth fic, STILL untouchable despite all of the sex, even if he's in love with him. I don't know if I'll ever write a Steve POV for this because I think a lot of the tension and mystery comes from Eddie just... not fully understanding Steve because he just doesn't ask - he assumes a LOT, is scared of a lot too (not the sex itself, even when he knows he's letting Steve push his limits, he LOVES to push his own limits he gets BORED) I have some things cooking up - mostly more sexy limit pushing, but I do have big ideas for like, Future LARP AU, things I've talked to with a friend (and other things I've talked to a few people about). I'm making no promises, this was originally a lowkey no pressure thing to write and I'm keeping it that way, but it IS a great way to write certain themes.

Also, I don't know if it shows, but it was actually a struggle to write Eddie being in charge in the fourth fic, I got so used to this version of him letting Steve do whatever creative and crazy shit his mind cooked up, but I think I managed to turn it out well! I think domming for him specifically is less of an intense experience to begin with, having the control that way and keeping his head on straight to stay responsible for everyone's safety is going to keep him rooted in reality more than being able to just let go and stew in whatever Steve's making him feel.

I think he also could really get into it if Steve ever lets him take control again - depends on what I feel like writing/how the story ends up flowing, but Steve REALLY enjoyed kneeling for Eddie - because like anything it'd take practice and experience to feel comfortable getting super into it without worrying so much.

Also, I know they have a lot of great sex and cum a million times, but one of the major themes of this series is edging and anticipation. I know at least one of my friends is ready to chew on drywall because they haven't kissed yet <3

Aro Steve my beloved

Sorry it took me so long to get to it, but here it is :)

Yes. Absolutely. (BTW I hc him as aromantic bisexual) there's a bunch more stuff ab him that suggests completely different, and ofc all headcanons are valid, this is just how I like to interpret I'm not trying to, like, prove aro Steve canon. I'll start with how he acts in canon and then move on to some headcanons after. The first part of the post is about my canon analysis but it has a kind of overall theme of heteronormativity, so caution but it isn't that that heavy. If you want, you can skip to the second part, which is just some headcanons. I'll make the title orange so you know when to stop scrolling.

Canon:

starting with season three:

Steve was essentially weighing pros and cons of dating ppl. He knew exactly how to get someone to like him, but Dustin's "choose someone who you like dating" concept was foreign. In not dating he couldn't have a multitude of other reasons for dating popular girls, but specifically the analytical approach he was taking is what comes off to me as aromantic. "Oh, romance was supposed to be a feeling? Since WHEN!?" -me after finding out alloros exist. Another thing is that Steve doesn't even consider Robin a romantic interest, it doesn't even cross his mind, until Dustin brings it up. Consider- Robin opens up to him while they're drugged. "I was obsessed". And *this* while speech is what Steve considered to be a romantic confession. Only after this does he say that he has a crush on Robin. Not only this, he says that having a crush on Robin is why he isn't still in love with Nancy- which just isn't how that works (see: Boyce/Jopper). All of this shows an understanding of "courting rituals" so to speak, but not of romance.

Season four:

Steddie is fanon.

"I would date her, but.. nevermind" honestly, I hate this line so fucking much. I think it was put in to make a *point* out of not outing Robin, which I appreciate but it OBVIOUSLY sucks. (What I appreciate way more is him talking to Dustin generally and just ✨️not✨️) what I see is him being "caught" and his first instinct was to scapegoat Robin. There isn't any reason for him to feel defensive about not wanting to date someone- unless those two experiences are associated. "Of course I want a girlfriend, look, there's a girl". In the beginning of season four, what Steve says is "do I want to start another relationship just for sex?" Which is a valid thing to say, it's okay to prefer relationships that are mostly about romance, but in Steve's case, there could be more to it. Looking back at season one, the way Tommy and Carol talk about Nancy is like the first time they've interpreted Steve's advances towards a girl as romantic. Up until that point, Steve had been able to "get away with" not being romantic with anyone and still come of as "normal" by continuing this pattern. Imo he was totally fine with it, and the reason he isn't still is because he falsely associates those type of relationships with the entirety of that phase of his life. Likewise, he associates his relationship with Nancy with the time he started actually making friends and being a better person, unconsciously tying his image of the guy he wants to be with being someone who can hold down a romantic relationship. Consider how Robin phrases his problem, "you go on a million dates and have no clue what you want!". Because Steve has an idea of romance that he's aiming for, but he doesn't really feel romantically towards anyone. Even his vision for the future: I think it's unanimous that nobody thought "six little nuggets" was romantic. I think of Sieve was being honest with himself when he decided to make a move on Nancy (if he was even trying to) be would have described the "wife" more than the kids. "Me, my beautiful wife, and our family" doesn't sound Nancy's style at all, but it's still far more romance-oriented than "six kids and um also you btw".

Headcanons:

Steve still wants his huge family, he's someone who thrives having several types of platonic relationships in his life

I'm adopting the fanon/hc that Steve learns all he can abt the LGBTQ+ community and is super involved with the local queer community

Every time he sees a love triangle on TV he just points and says "those two should just get together, that person is tired and I don't think they want to date either of them", while Robin is a big fan of "they should just all date".

He doesn't really like the aro flag once he eventually finds out about it. (Don't crucify me I fucking love the aro flag) he just doesn't like the colors. He does like the bi flag, but he just has the rainbow.

He probably continues using the eight stripe rainbow on like, pins an bracelets and whatnot as well as having one in his house once he has one. He uses the eight stripe rainbow right up until he eventually finds out about the progress flag with the chevron thing.

He puts rainbows subtly on himself all the time, like bracelets and pins, but also coloring his shoes, picking which hair clips to wear, on his socks and pretty much any item he owns so ppl feel safer around him

He gets married to someone at some point and idk if it's before or after adopting his kids, but I just feel like Steve is someone who likes the idea of marriage

He definitely thought everyone felt the same way as him for the longest time

He pronounces it "Ay-ro-mantic" not "air-romantic" and is like, far too insistent on it.

(While writing this I literally just realized how different he and I are bc most of these are not true about me as an aro person lol)
