Had a not-so-serious headcanon a while ago that the Brigadier despised mushrooms, just because i myself can't stand them.

but remembering his reactions in The Green Death to mushrooms (surprised and also not believing something he ate was in fact mushrooms) i think i'm gunna have to double down on this silly headcanon

#brigadier lethbridge stewart #they make a point that these mushrooms grown/made at the nuthutch are different #they got a different texture - different taste - theyre very much not like normal mushrooms #i propose that they created an early (and better) version of quorn #brig hates mushrooms in all natural forms because of texture and taste #but he likes the quorn-esque mushroom foods #no but like -#when 3 asks “dont you like it (mushrooms)?” the tone brig has (rather serious like) when he says “i'd rather have a slice of beef”#or the joke the others make that “even the brigadier!” is eating some of the nuthutch mushroom stuff #like it's surprising and amazing (and funny due to his opinions of mushroom foods)#and of course him refusing to believe the 'beef' he was eating was fungus because everything about it was beef like #(also i know he handed the plate of fungus to benton because brig needed to go with the doc and others to find a cure #but i think it's so funny how the doc gives brig the plate and brig immediately is like “nope!” and hands it to benton - like brig cant eve #stand to hold a plate with them on)
