So, I’ve been away for a while and I’ve realised a few things...
1. I haven’t posted on here properly/ regularly for months - I’d been having a hard time work wise, I had to pack up all my stuff and move house and mentally I was just exhausted and feeling pretty low.
However, I’m doing reasonably well now I think; I’ve successfully moved across the country, I’m finally getting some teaching supply work with an outlook for getting a permanent post soon, and I’m getting used to being 200 miles away from my network of friends.
2. I haven’t written/ posted anything fic wise for close to a year and... I’m kind of happy? When I discovered that the other day I thought it would stress me out but it hasn’t. I mean, I need to catch up on years worth of prompts and the like (I’m sorry if you’ve ever sent me a prompt and I’ve never filled it...) but I think I really needed the break. I was reaching a point where I was getting worried about my writing and not posting and so I didn’t work on anything and then I stressed about not posting and so on and so forth. But taking a break for this long has helped me put things in perspective; yes I want to write, but I’m going to try and not pressure myself, or worry that I’ve not posted anything. I’m gonna work on things I think, but at my own pace and for my own happiness to start with. I was reading through some old stories of mine and I could see how well (relatively) I have written in the past - I think I lost that ability somewhere along the way and I want to find and work at that standard again (and maybe improve too...)
3. I miss chatting to people in fandom. I’ve been away for so long that I guess I’ve fallen off people’s radar, but if anyone wants to say hi, or catch up, or just fangirl about anything then feel free to send me a message - I’m going to try and do better to stay in touch.
TLDR - I’ve been away for a while, but I’m feeling happier and a little healthier and hopefully it’s onwards and upwards for me with things 🤞

I've got this idea for August Walker! Please may I request; where reader is a agent and comes to Ethan and Walker's rescue in the bathrooms (that scene from fallout, kinda taking the place of ilsa?) and Walker is taken by her beauty and her badass skills. Thanks again Sam !
+ Anon: Hii can i request an august walker x reader where they are meeting for the first time and they go on a mission together and he’s impressed by her skills? Btw ur an amazing writer! ❤
I know that these two requests aren’t exactly the same, but they deal with a similar sort of premise, so I just put them together! I hope that’s okay. Enjoy! Also, this turned out to be my favourite piece for August I’ve written so far. I’m so in love with the idea of this reader x August. It’s honestly so good.
THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT!
Ethan Hunt should have known that Hunley would have sent another agent after him, just to be safe. But when a bullet goes straight through the face of John Lark, his first thought isn’t that it’s someone he can trust. He jumps up instantly, reaching for the gun that Lark dropped, and points it towards you, standing near the door of the bathroom, your own gun raised.
He furrows his eyebrows as he recognises you. You’re an IMF agent, one he’d even helped to train a little himself. And, for some reason, you’re here. “What are you doing here?” He stands.
You’re about to reply when another man appears from the other side of the bathroom – August Walker, the other man Hunley had told you about. He’s taller than Ethan, and he’s clearly been involved in the fight too.
“You’re August Walker? CIA?”
He nods and stands up straighter, extending a hand. Ignoring it, you narrow your eyes just a little just as Ethan, across the room, repeats his question. Slowly, you wander towards him, eyes flashing down to the now dead body on the ground. Walker, suddenly intrigued at your arrival, watches you intently and follows after you.
“Hunley sent me,” you explain. “He’s concerned. He thought you might need more back-up.”
Ethan furrows his eyebrows. “I was fine on my own. We were handling things.”
You look down at the dead body and around at the destroyed bathroom. Meeting Ethan’s eyes again, you raise an eyebrow. “Yeah, I can see you totally had it all under control. When I shot that man in the face, you were just seconds away from getting a handle on things, weren’t you?”
A smirk adorns August’s face as he sidles up beside you. He likes you. The three of you look down at the dead body. His face is completely destroyed. “Can you still make a mask?” He asks, not taking his eyes off the body.
“I need a face to make a mask.”
“Yeah, sorry about that,” you wince and look down at your gun. “Haven’t used this before. Hunley gave it to me before I left. Thought it’d be the same as my usual… clearly wasn’t… sorry.”
Ethan frowns. “We were fine on our own. Hunley should have known that.”
“Glad to know you’re happy to see me, Ethan,” you sigh. Considering the man had helped in your training, you’d thought he’d be at least happy in some sense to see you. Even if you had been the one to shoot the target in the face.
Walker turns to you. “So you know Ethan well, then?”
Ethan grabs Walker’s jacket from his hands and throws it over Lark’s face. “She’s IMF, too. Hunley must have thought we needed more back-up. Clearly,” Ethan looks at you. “he was wrong about that.”
You wait outside the toilet stall as Ethan and Walker pick up Lark and move him into the stall, sitting him down on the toilet. The floor is covered in blood, and you screw your nose up a little as Walker tries to avoid it coming out of the stall.
He pulls his phone out of his pocket and dials a number. You watch him, finding yourself interested in him. The way Hunley had described him, you’d thought he was a veteran agent, one of the older, more experienced ones. He seems to be the opposite, though. “Cancel extraction. We’re code blue. Send… sanitation. North mens room.”
Walker tucks his phone away and looks at you as you watch Ethan finish up with Lark in the stall. You’re rather beautiful, and August isn’t afraid to admit that. Even though you messed up the mission by shooting their target in the face, he does find you a little intimidating, and he’s intrigued. Very, very intrigued. Walker hasn’t known Ethan that long, but he does know that there aren’t many people that would be willing to speak to him as freely and openly as you did.
Ethan walks out of the stall. “You can go now,” he says. “Tell Hunley we’re fine on our own.”
You’re just about to speak when the bathroom door opens and three men wander in, all speaking in French. You jump to action quickly, moving to stand in front of August. You grab his face and tilt his head back, pretending he has a major nose bleed, and speak.
“Okay, just take it easy,” you say. “Just keep your head back until the bleeding stops.”
As Ethan steps forward to deal with the men, August looks down at you, trying to ignore the feeling of your hand on his face and the other on the back of his neck. He raises his eyebrows, and you give him a small smirk in reply.
He’s impressed with your attitude, and while he knows Ethan’s desperate to send you back to Hunley in the States, he thinks he’d rather like to have you around. You’re quick, and intelligent, and easy on the eyes, too, which, Walker thinks, is a pretty good bonus.
The men leave the bathroom without hesitation and you drop your hands from Walker’s face and step back from him before looking over at Ethan.
“I meant it,” he continues. “We’re fine on our own.”
August steps forward as Ethan pulls on the wristband. “She could be helpful, Hunt. What’s the harm in keeping her around? She did just save our lives,” then, he pauses. “What are you doing?”
Ethan glances at him. “I have a date with the White Widow,” he starts. “And no, she’s not staying. End of story.”
“He had a date with the Widow,” August continues, stepping up to stand beside you. “You look nothing like him.”
You look between the two of them. Even though Ethan’s adamant on you leaving, you know there’s no chance of you going back to Hunley without having completed the job. And it’s two to one – August seems fine with you staying, too.
“And now we have to hope they’ve never met.”
August furrows his eyebrows. “Hope is not a strategy!”
You smirk and glance back at him. “You clearly don’t know Ethan, do you? Hope is the only strategy Ethan Hunt knows. You’ve been on this mission with him for what, three hours? Surely you could have caught onto that by now.”
Much to his dismay, August’s lips quirk up just a little in reply. You’re quick, he’ll give you that.
“I don’t have a choice. White Widow’s our only lead. I’ve gotta be this guy for five minutes,” he finishes. “Now, you’re going. You’ve already been here long enough.”
He turns and walks away from the two of you before you even get a chance to reply to him, heading towards the door and out of the bathroom. You shake your head and sigh deeply. August looks over at you.
“You staying?”
You look up at him and raise your eyebrows. “Of course I’m staying. The day I listen to Ethan Hunt is the day the world ends,” you mutter and walk towards the door. “Are you coming with me or not, August?”
August chuckles softly and starts to follow you towards the door. Hell, he’d follow you anywhere.
