gotta love living in a world where paying more for a product is unethical because you're wasting extra money they could go into helping others & yourself but also paying less for something is unethical because it definitely means there were labor violations and slavery used in the making of the product. but also the more expensive products were also likely also produced by slave/child/underpaid labor
#we all know that paying more for a phone doesn't mean it was made more ethically#it's honestly the same with a lot of name brand clothes#i have to take what i can afford or have nothing at all#you have to have a lot of energy to scrounge around thrift stores and online marketplaces to get every single thing you want#and not only do i only make 784 a month but unfortunately#im physically disabled and my other disorders make it even harder to have to go somewhere and deal w strangers every time i make a purchase#it wouldn't be as much as a problem if the stores were closer and smaller and i was familiar with everyone#and had ppl who were able to go shopping for me every now and then#but this is what i'm forced to fucking do under capitalism!#so glad i get to look at all my comfort items and know that someone else bled for them#.bdo

entry #1 - Him
Content Warning: suicide, depression and self harm. If you're sensitive to these topics, and you aren't a total masochist about it, maybe you should avoid reading this one.
this is my first entry.
I want to know if other people feel the same way.
is it bad that he still says “kill yourself, look for a reason to” even if I turned a corner, stayed sober, stopped cutting, or had absolutely no reason to feel that way? It’s been since I was 10 that I felt the need to cut, the little voice inside my head saying do it, it’s worth it, you will be at peace, unfortunately I am not as selfish as I thought and I think of my mom every single fucking time... I don’t really no what reason I had to cut myself at that age, but all I remember was the first time he appeared. the little voice inside my ear. Him.
I wasn’t really a enjoyable person to be around growing up, always had problems with friends or my weight or just being able to communicate with people in a certain way, my mom used to say I was just quiet, but honestly I was being consoled by that stupid voice in my head
‘LIE, CUT, DON’T EAT, YOU WILL FEEL BETTER LISTEN TO ME JOANNE’.
I don’t know why... but his voice sounded so soothing until you stop listening to him. then he gets violent and aggressive.
‘MAYBE IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE WORTHLESS AND YOU NEVER FUCKING LISTEN JOANNE
ugh shut up guy.
After I went into high school. He broke loose. I was my own demon for a while, I started getting into things I never did in my life, (drinking smoking snorting fighting getting arrested the whole shebang) but it’s not like I wasn’t enjoying it. I would drink or do drugs with my new friends to forget about what I’ve been through. like turning over a new leaf. but that was toxic. and on a daily basis I would drink smoke cut repeat. day after day it was like an addiction for pain and forgetfulness. After grade 9 summer 2012, he came back. stronger. he knew every weakness of mine, I am him, he is me. he knows everything now. just when I thought he was gone. he came right back.
I got expelled. sent a girl to the hospital, was arrested, charged. you know it. after that I was sent to counseling but still didn’t go so, I breached my probation, twice. all I remember is that giggle that me and him would do when we would get in trouble do something ridiculous like spray paint the water tower or steal from tip jars and from grocery stores, just stupid shit. I loved the attention and so did he. but he knew my future. and at that time, I didn't. he was up to something. but 16-year-old Joanne, was fucking clueless.
years are passing by same old shit just a different day and my life got boring so demon left for a while, I stopped cutting got into habits like working ffs. my demon left for a while when it was 2015, when I first met the love of my life, knowing I’m manipulative I did everything in my power to keep him around, sometimes healthy, most of the time not. but eventually that relationship came to came to an end and we lost contact. but HE came back. angry. and violent, and ready to play. I grabbed whatever drug I had in my cabinet, took it all. drank until I woke up in the middle of a park on the opposite side of the city when I was just drinking by myself at home, got a 15000 loan and spent it on blow Xanax bottles and cases of liquor, I paid last 3 months rent so I could pretty much trash it for 3 months then find another dump to live in. I drank and drove everywhere sometimes I was black out and still was lucky to make it home. but I didn’t care. I’m ready to die. he knows it, and I know it. and on that day in June 1, 2018 we agreed with each other for the first time. he knew everything now to get rid of me. he knew the alcohol would stay he knew I wouldn’t stop he knows I wouldn’t get help.
‘Now its time Joanne. now there’s nothing more you have left, you’re 20k in debt, your family hates you your friends tolerate because you have the money, you had the stuff, but where is everybody now? you were meant to die alone. Just fucking do it’
“Okay”
After that somebody called the cops on me, they showed up and I was there puking and passed out, only I didnt have any cuts on my arm, pills and cocaine were scattered and mixed together vodka was all over me and I had bleach; unopened, thankfully. Now if that wasn’t rock bottom. Then there is definitely a lot more to come... because I’m still falling.
got on medication, trazodone mostly, some anti depressants, but I wasn’t allowed to have to many, because I am a substance abuser. I could hear him mocking me from the distant “fucking pussy”. He would say it to make me drink to taunt and every time that happened, I would drink and drive, and guess who has a DUI now. After the meds started kicking in, he fucked off. But I stopped taking my meds right after. Is it bad that I missed him?
He left and I didn’t hear from him until September 2019. But that’s another story. Thanks for reading.
my depression will always find a way back. there is no escaping my life. but at least I’m not alone, I have him. he will always be there when you fall, to cradle you in your darkest times, to eagerly make you want feel the endorphins breaking through your wrist, that feeling you’ve been thriving for, the art painted with a blade that you found in your dads tool box, the tears that you shed of every minute of everyday, the things you go through. he will be right where he needs to be. With you. Always.

Sports Research Evening Primrose Review (UPDATED 2017): Don’t Buy Before You Read This!
What is it?
Sports Research Evening Primrose is a women’s health supplement made with cold-pressed evening primrose oil. This product is used to help women with a range of issues such as PMS, breast pain and menopause symptoms.
Sports Research Evening Primrose contains omega 6 and omega 9s, which may have an effect on women’s health concerns. This product is thought to work as it contains a substance called gamma-linoleic acid, which might moderate symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats.
According to our team of experts, Femmetrinol is the most effective herbal solution on the market — providing hormone-balancing relief without the use of harmful HRT treatments. This product is made from herbs like wild yam, damiana, chasteberry and black cohosh — which aim to address the full scope of menopause concerns from libido and vaginal dryness to hot flashes, headaches and night sweats. Click here for full details on using Femmetrinol.
Top Rated Menopause Supplements of 2017
Do you know the Best Menopause Supplements of 2017?
Sports Research Evening Primrose Ingredients and Side Effects
Sports Research Evening Primrose is a plant-based supplement made from soothing herbs and amino acids. Here’s a look at what users can expect in terms of PMS relief, as well as some added benefits:
Evening Primrose Oil: Sourced from the seeds of the evening primrose plant—evening primrose oil is used as a source of essential fatty acids. This ingredient may also be used for a wide range of medicinal purposes such as treating chronic fatigue, diabetes, ADHD, bowel conditions like ulcerative colitis and IBS and more.
Women often use evening primrose oil for treating conditions like PMS, breast pain, endometriosis, hot flashes, night sweats and other symptoms associated with menopause.
The reason it may have an effect on hormone health is, that evening primrose oil contains a substance known as GLA (gamma-linoleic acid), which supports prostaglandin levels.
Prostaglandins have hormone-like qualities and are responsible for a number of tissue-healing functions in the body and may help regulate menopause symptoms.
This oil is also used for cosmetic purposes and can be found in various soaps and lotions. It is thought to help with skin conditions like eczema or allergy-related hives or rash.
Side effects associated with evening primrose oil may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gas, bloating, constipation, cramping and headache.
Additionally, evening primrose may cause anxiety, depression and an altered immune system function.

EDITOR’S TIP: Combine this supplement with a proven menopause pill such as Femmetrinol for better results.
Sports Research Evening Primrose Quality of Ingredients
Sports Research Evening Primrose contains only evening primrose oil, a plant-based source of essential fatty acids.
Sports Research Evening Primrose does have some side effects, but there’s not much evidence suggesting an adverse reaction is all that widespread.
The side effects outlined above are just something consumers should keep in mind before they purchase, so that they can be on the lookout for any changes in their bodies.
Sports Research Evening Primrose is a well-known menopause remedy and has been in use for a number of years. Many people swear by the use of evening primrose, claiming it’s an effective tool in treating hormonal issues — breast pain, hot flashes, PMS and more.
This may well work, but there isn’t all that much data on evening primrose — for any of its indications — that definitively proves whether or not it yields consistent health benefits.

The Price and Quality of Sports Research Evening Primrose
Sports Research Evening Primrose may be purchased directly from the official webpage. A single bottle containing 120-capsules retails for $27. The bottle recommends taking one or two capsules per day—so users may feel like they are getting a good value, seeing how the supplement lasts for 2-4 months on average.
Sports Research Evening Primrose may also be found on several other online shopping platforms. iHerb sells this supplement for $17.95—for the same 120-count bottle, while Amazon currently sells it for $16.17.
Between black cohosh and wild yam, isoflavones and evening primrose — here are the herbal menopause products that really work.

Sports Research Evening Primrose is made by a company known as Sports Research, a company that focuses the bulk of its efforts on making workout supplements that run the gamut from protein to testosterone boosters to weight loss aids.
While evening primrose oil is almost always associated with its use as a menopausal supplement, Sports Research Evening Primrose Oil is marketed more as a source of healthy fats that also provide some women-specific benefits, rather than an all-out menopause support product.
In looking at the site, it’s clear that Sports Research has a loyal following. They sponsor many body builders and athletes, sharing pictures of their partnerships both on the website and on social media channels.
Based on our look at the website, it’s clear that this product is of a high quality—this company has taken the care in making all relevant information easy for consumers to find, and has shared a considerable amount of information about who they are as a company, and what they are all about.
Customer Opinions of Sports Research Evening Primrose Oil
Sports Research Evening Primrose Oil has primarily positive reviews over a wide pool of previous consumers. On Amazon alone, a wide range of users—over 1300—shared their experience using the oil-based supplements. Here’s a quick look at some of the comments:
“This is amazing! I never give reviews, but this product has really helped me a great deal. My skin looks great, I’m losing weight and I’m sleeping much better, I highly recommend this unexpected gem.”
“I have PMDD and as a result, my emotions can be all over the place during a certain time of the month. Evening primrose has evened me out. No more petty irritations, crying fits, I’m just shrugging it all off.”
“I’ve used other Sports Research product with great results, and thought I’d give this one a whirl. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced any negative side effects, but I haven’t seen any benefits either.”
“Was losing sleep because of my hot flashes and night sweats. I’m still having episodes here and there, but I’m overall pretty happy. Plus, it provides some of the same benefits as fish oil, minus the burps.”
Sports Research Evening Primrose is made from an oil that has long been in use by those seeking natural solutions to menopause symptoms.
For all the reviews we came across, there weren’t too many that mentioned menopause or menopause symptoms. Evening primrose has been associated with a number of benefits spanning all ages—but unfortunately, it means we can’t really get a clear picture as to how well this product performs within the menopausal subset.

Conclusion – Does Sports Research Evening Primrose Work?
Sports Research Evening Primrose, based on our research, may be a good product for consumers looking for an alternative to hormone treatments.
Sports Research seems to make high quality products, focused on improving physical fitness — the company has a solid online presence and many partnerships with social media fitness personalities.
While using evening primrose oil as a menopause treatment isn’t all well researched by the modern, mainstream medical community, it’s hard to argue with the centuries of anecdotal evidence standing behind its use.
That being said, a supplement containing only a single ingredient is unlikely to yield the same benefits as a potent solution that brings together a few different ingredients.
Using this supplement to treat menopause may not come with the major payoff consumers are looking for. It may well work to some extent, all the while providing some key health benefits, but we’re not entirely sure how consistent this product performs.
Our recommendation is to talk to a doctor about the best course of action for menopause care. Evening primrose may be worth exploring, but there are other herbs with a more pronounced effect on the female hormones.
Femmetrinol is our experts’ favorite supplement for combatting menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and mood swings. With herbs like black cohosh, chasteberry and wild yam provide the bulk of the hormone-balancing benefits—bring fast and potent relief to consumers looking for a dependable solution.
Femmetrinol was made in an effort to bring quality menopause relief to women without the risk of negative side effects. Quality control experts routinely evaluate the product to ensure users get safe and potent care in every bottle. Click here to find out why Femmetrinol is the secret to a more manageable menopause.

DANI MATHERS FACES LAWSUIT AFTER MOCKING NAKED BODY OF ELDERLY WOMAN
By Amanda Le, University of North Carolina Greensboro, Class of 2019
June 10, 2017
Modern day technology has allowed Americans to connect in a way that was previously inconceivable. Snapchat is a prime example; this user-friendly app allows people to quickly share events mere seconds after they have occurred and has reached a user base of nearly 160 million active members. Despite the app’s intention to bring people closer together, some users utilize the app to aid in criminal activities.
Don’t let that pretty face fool you. Playboy model, Dani Mathers, has undergone scrutiny in the past year due to her irresponsible actions at a Los Angeles gym. Her actions have resulted in a criminal charge, loss of a job and public criticism regarding a specific incident. [5] Ms. Mathers publicly body shamed an elderly woman, by posting a nude photo of the woman onto her Snapchat story. After posting to her story, Ms. Mathers continued to mock the woman, titling the photo, [5] “If I can’t unsee this, neither can you.”
[3] Attorney Mike Feuer plans to pursue the case on misdemeanor charges of invasion of privacy. [2] According to the California Penal Code section 647(j) PC, a party is in violation of the invasion of privacy act if they have “secretly videotaped, filmed or photographed a person without their consent AND under circumstances in which the other person had a reasonable expectation to privacy.” When applied to the event in question, Mathers has clearly violated the elderly woman’s privacy. Although the 70-year-old woman happened to be naked in an LA gym locker room, this was no invitation to capture her photo and publicly post it for all the world to see. Outraged by the incident, Attorney Mike Feuer released his own personal grievances, “This was a very important case to me - as a father, as a son, as someone who recognizes the damage that body shaming can do because, it is so humiliating.” Ms. Mathers also received criticism across her various social media platforms, causing her to delete her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
@Xholliewould tweeted:
Engulfed in negative publicity, Mathers lost professional ties with her employer, KLOS radio station. A statement of disassociation was released, [1] “We are aware of the issues surrounding Ms. Mathers, and we do not condone these actions or messages.”
The KLOS radio show, “Heidi and Frank” will be dismissing all future broadcasts which include Ms. Mathers:
[1] A statement made by a spokesperson on behalf of KLOS parent company, Cumulus media. The Wrap.
Along with her newly implemented status of unemployment, Mathers may face up to 6 months in prison, with an additional fee of $1,000. At a risk of serving jail-time, the playboy model exercised various forms of public restitution. Quickly releasing a public apology to soothe enraged fans, “I know that body shaming is wrong, and that is not the type of person that I am.” She further begs for forgiveness, claiming to have accidentally posted the photo to her story instead of sending it to a friend.
The full video can be seen here: Dani Mathers Public Apology
After watching the video, it should be noted that Ms. Mathers failed to issue a direct apology to the victim herself. It seems as if Mathers was more focused on cleaning up her own reputation rather than issuing a genuine apology to the person who truly matters, the victim.
In addition to releasing a public apology, the model chose to buddy up with an anti-bullying organization known as [6] “Cure the Hate”. However, Ms. Mather’s lack of responsiveness as well as (her) inactive role in the organization led them to question the sincerity of her actions.
Mathers later won the approval of LA judges, [5] by passing jail time; receiving only 30 days of community service, in which she has been ordered to remove graffiti.
Unfortunately, if the consequences ordered against Ms. Mathers are representative of how courts will deal with future cases, the legal system will ultimately fail victims of body shaming. Unsatisfied with the court’s attempts at retribution, Feuer has sponsored a bill detailing the consequences associated with violation of the Invasion of Privacy Act.
Senate Bill784, states any individual who uses a [4] “photographic camera of any type to secretly...film, photograph or record by electronic means...an identifiable person who may be in a state of full or partial undress is in violation of the Invasion of Privacy Act. Further any recordings or photographs taken of individuals without their consent in “interior” areas such as a bedroom, bathroom or changing room, are subject $1,000 fine, in addition to any “economic losses suffered by the defendant” to remove, delete, or eliminate the images and recordings when imposing restitution.” The proposed bill enacted by senators Anderson and Jackson, will be a state-mandated local program, which will increase punishments against those in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.
California Senator, Cathleen Galgiani will not sit in silence[1] , stating the repercussions that bullying can have,[3] “the victim can experience long-term harm and embarrassment.” Senator Galgiani is also an advocate for Senate Bill 784, stating the bill [3] “will make sure that our laws keep pace with the ever-changing social media environment. As Mather’s case has demonstrated, this legislation is an important step to protecting the privacy of Californians.”
Dani Mathers case has not only identified an issue with the legal system and its inability to distribute just and sufficient consequences against the cruel actions of those who publicly condemn the bodies of others but points to a major flaw in the human heart. If you previously felt an indifference towards victims of body-shaming or bullying, I invite you to personalize the case. Imagine if the elderly woman was your own mother, sister or sweet grandmother. I pray that we do not fail the youth of our nation, as we are the teachers of compassion, respect, and human decency.

Art by Kate Or Die
March is finally over... thank goodness for that. It's my least favorite month of the year. It finally starts to warm up, the snow melts, we go from winter coat weather to sweater weather and the trees begin to bud.... then snow storm.... and my hopes for spring are crushed. Every year I tell myself that I won't get my hopes up, but I always do. This year I decided that my energy was better spent reading than getting worked up over the weather. Here's what I read this month:
A Thousand Nights (A Thousand Nights #1)
by E.K. Johnston
352 Pages
Lo-Melkhiin killed three hundred girls before he came to her village, looking for a wife. When she sees the dust cloud on the horizon, she knows he has arrived. She knows he will want the loveliest girl: her sister. She vows she will not let her be next.
And so she is taken in her sister's place, and she believes death will soon follow. Lo-Melkhiin's court is a dangerous palace filled with pretty things: intricate statues with wretched eyes, exquisite threads to weave the most beautiful garments. She sees everything as if for the last time. But the first sun rises and sets, and she is not dead. Night after night, Lo-Melkhiin comes to her and listens to the stories she tells, and day after day she is awoken by the sunrise. Exploring the palace, she begins to unlock years of fear that have tormented and silenced a kingdom. Lo-Melkhiin was not always a cruel ruler. Something went wrong.
Far away, in their village, her sister is mourning. Through her pain, she calls upon the desert winds, conjuring a subtle unseen magic, and something besides death stirs the air.
Back at the palace, the words she speaks to Lo-Melkhiin every night are given a strange life of their own. Little things, at first: a dress from home, a vision of her sister. With each tale she spins, her power grows. Soon she dreams of bigger, more terrible magic: power enough to save a king, if she can put an end to the rule of a monster.
In my search for more fairy tale based stories, I came across this one. I've never really known One Thousand and One Arabian Nights, but I've always been intrigued by it. I really enjoyed this story, although she herself didn't really tell stories like I was expecting. This was more about her time in the palace trying to figure out a way to survive and uncovering the truth behind why so many women have come before her and what she can do to be the last.
The Elite (The Selection #2)
by Kiera Cass
337 Pages (7:42 Hours)
The Selection gets fierce as rivals stake their claim on the Prince.
Six girls, one life-changing prize…
America Singer will leave her pre-destined life for a world of glamour and luxury, if she wins…
But surviving The Selection is tough. Rivals are battling to become Prince Maxon’s bride as the threat of rebel violence just beyond the palace walls escalates into war.
Only six girls are left and sworn friendships are tested to breaking point. America’s feelings for Maxon grow stronger, but she suspects darker mysteries in his royal past. With ex-lover Aspen waiting for her in the shadows, where do her loyalties truly lie?
Although on the outside, this book seems really shallow (and it can be) I'm really enjoying the subplots of this series. What are the rebels after? What is the King really involved with? Is her father all he seems? What else will she learn about the first King of Ilea and how bad was he actually? I don't really care about the Selection or the other girls involved, other than Marlee (how could you!) and the love triangle left me wanting both guys to abandon her. I almost want Maxon to pick one of the other girls so I'd get to read about her instead. Oh well, we can only hope that she will make up her mind before the next book is over and since the book series titles pretty much give away who she's going to choose, I can only hope that this triangle will be left behind soon.
Snapshot
by Brandon Sanderson
129 Pages (2:23 Hours)
Snapshot is a Science Fiction detective story following Anthony Davis, a cop assigned to Snapshot Duty. In this vivid world that author Brandon Sanderson has built, society can create a snapshot of a specific day in time. The experiences people have, the paths they follow—all of them are real again for a one day in the snapshot. All for the purposes of investigation by the court.
Davis’s job as a cop on Snapshot Duty is straight forward. Sometimes he is tasked with finding where a criminal dumped a weapon. Sometimes he is tasked with documenting domestic disputes. Simple. Mundane. One day, in between two snapshot assignments, Davis decides to investigate the memory of a call that was mysteriously never logged at the precinct, and he makes a horrifying discovery.
As in all many stories, Snapshot follows a wonderfully flawed character as he attempts to solve a horrific crime. Sanderson proves that no matter the genre, he is one of the most skilled storytellers in the business.
Another great short story by Sanderson. I find it's sometimes hard to build a new world in a short story and make it both complex and believable without running out of time to tell the actual story, but Sanderson pulls it off masterfully. I can see the appeal of wanting snapshot technology to solve crimes that have already happened. But what would living in that reality over and over again do to you as a person, knowing that you are only seeing shadows of people's lives, but never being apart of their real life? What would it be like for one of those people they reveal themselves to, finding out that you're not real? How would you react?
Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day
by Seanan McGuire
183 Pages (4:37 Hours)
When her sister Patty died, Jenna blamed herself. When Jenna died, she blamed herself for that, too. Unfortunately Jenna died too soon. Living or dead, every soul is promised a certain amount of time, and when Jenna passed she found a heavy debt of time in her record. Unwilling to simply steal that time from the living, Jenna earns every day she leeches with volunteer work at a suicide prevention hotline.
But something has come for the ghosts of New York, something beyond reason, beyond death, beyond hope; something that can bind ghosts to mirrors and make them do its bidding. Only Jenna stands in its way.
This was a neat story about the afterlife. What happens when you die too soon? Ghosts are everywhere, trying to make a living or trying to catch up on their deaths. That time is constantly in exchange between those wanting less and those wanting more. It's a neat concept. I like the thought of Ghosts working at a suicide helpline, trying to help people who don't want to live anymore and knowing what the consequences might be for them.
Mirror Sight (Green Rider #5)
by Kristen Britain
784 Pages
Karigan G’ladheon is a Green Rider—a seasoned member of the elite messenger corps of King Zachary of Sacoridia. King Zachary sends Karigan and a contingent of Sacoridians beyond the edges of his nation, into the mysterious Blackveil Forest, which has been tainted with dark magic by a twisted immortal spirit named Mornhavon the Black.
At the end of Blackveil, in a magical confrontation against Mornhavon, Karigan is jolted out of Blackveil Forest and wakes in darkness. She’s lying on smooth, cold stone, but as she reaches out, she realizes that the stone is not just beneath her, but above and around her as well. She’s landed in a sealed stone sarcophagus, some unknown tomb, and the air is becoming thin.
Is this to be her end? If she escapes, where will she find herself? Is she still in the world she remembers, or has the magical explosion transported her somewhere completely different? To find out, she must first win free of her prison— before it becomes her grave. And should she succeed, will she be walking straight into a trap created by Mornhavon himself?
Mirror Sight is the highly-anticipated fifth installment of the Green Rider series.
I guess they couldn't all be good books. I've really been enjoying this series, but this book made me sad and hurt my eyes, since I couldn't stop rolling them. The back of the book doesn't tell you anything about it other than the first few pages when she wake up.... in the future! Yes, she's in the future, 200 years to be exact and not only that, but she's in a Steampunk dystopian!
But why? you ask. And that's the same question I asked myself through the whole book. Why? Why did she have to go to the future? Did it do anything for the overarching plot? Not anything that couldn't have been covered by a short chapter arch of her being swept forward like Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Future like they've done with past events. But what about all the side characters that you love so much? Don't worry, you get brief glimpses of them and then a 6 month time gap, but everyone's cool about it.
Edge of Tomorrow

When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor called a Jacket and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to be reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On his 158th iteration, he gets a message from a mysterious ally - the female soldier known as the Full Metal Bitch. Is she the key to Keiji’s escape or his final death?
I really liked this movie. For a Groundhog Day-esqe film, it did reliving the same day rather well. When I found the book, I thought it might have been a novelization of the movie, but quickly discovered that the movie was based on the book All You Need Is Kill and then later renamed. It was a lot better than the movie in a lot of ways. The repeat day is handled better and you get a lot more information about what is happening in the world and to him. It also has a totally different ending that is much less happy and Hollywood than the movie is. I think I might like the Hollywood ending better, but it's certainly not as interesting.
Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3)
by Sarah J. Maas
592 Pages (20:18 Hours)
Celaena has survived deadly contests and shattering heartbreak - but at an unspeakable cost. Now, she must travel to a new land to confront her darkest truth - a truth about her heritage that could change her life - and her future - forever. Meanwhile, brutal and monstrous forces are gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving her world. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?
The best-selling series that has captured readers all over the world reaches new heights in this sequel to the New York Times best-selling Crown of Midnight. Packed with heart-pounding action, fierce new characters, and swoon-worthy romance, this third book will enthrall readers from start to finish.
This must have been the month with let-down sequels. It's not that this book wasn't good, it was, but it wasn't great and that's what I wanted. Celaena spends a lot of this book trying to run away from who she is and her feelings. I understand the hardship of figuring all of that out, but it made the book feel rather stagnant. I appreciated when she finally faced her demons and started to develop as a character once more. The book got much more interesting after that. It was more of the side characters that made this book for me. I enjoyed Aedon and Chaol's tentative alliance as they search for answers and Dorian's search to end his magic. I'm guessing that the "swoon-worthy romance" they talk about is between Dorian and Sorscha, but I didn't find myself swooning. If any relationship is worth mentioning, it's Celaena and Rowan's friendship. What started as them almost hating one another turned into a rather beautiful friendship that I hope does NOT evolve into a relationship.
Bone Shop (Marla Mason 0.1) by T.A. Pratt
244 Pages Bone Shop explores the origins of ass-kicking sorcerer Marla Mason. Long before she became the Witch Queen of Felport, or the Bride of Death, Marla was a teenage runaway with no inkling of the dark magic that underpins the world. Bone Shop chronicles her rough beginnings, her apprenticeship, her years as a mercenary magician, and her eventual rise to power — navigating dangers including supernatural serial killers, cursed artifacts, and doomed young love.
This novella was originally written as a serial on T.A. Pratt's website, as well as some of his other books. I've been meaning to read it for years but didn't realize that it was a prequel and wanted to catch up on the rest of the books. This book tells the story of Marla's early days that we hear about in bits and pieces in the other books. We finally get to know Artie Mann and how he changed Marla's life, we see how she got the cursed cloak that later causes so much trouble and we see how she rose to become Chief Sorcerer of Felport, but also, we get let in on a few heart breaking pieces of the puzzle that we never knew shaped Marla as much as it did. This story is different from his other works because it spans so much time, years in fact, when we are used to reading about short chunks of Marla's life.
Siege and Storm (The Grisha #2)
by Leigh Bardugo
465 Pages (11:52 Hours)
Darkness never dies.
Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an unfamiliar land. She finds starting new is not easy while keeping her identity as the Sun Summoner a secret. She can’t outrun her past or her destiny for long.
The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide her--or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.
Again, not as good as the first book, this book was still pretty good.
This book starts with Alina and Mal on the run from the Darkling and almost immediately they get caught... again.
Rescued by a pirate who turns out to be the second son to the King, Alina decides it's time to go back to Ravka and build an army to fight the Darkling. But in the dark of night she begins to see him in the shadows, yet know one else can.
He search for more power starts to become all consuming and I'm beginning to wonder if she will end up being a bit of a villain, but I guess I won't find out until the next book.
The Too-Clever Fox (The Grisha #2.5)
by Leigh Bardugo
32 Pages (0:36 Hours)
In Ravka, just because you avoid one trap, it doesn't mean you'll escape the next. This story is a companion folk tale to Leigh Bardugo's upcoming book, Siege and Storm, the second book in the Grisha Trilogy
This story is referenced a few times during Siege and Storm and it's neat to be able to actually read the folk tale. It's a nice extra touch of Bardugo's world building. Now I just need to get my hands on the other ones.

I'm disabled and only make $784 a month, I have no money til the 3rd if anyone would like to throw me some money to feed myself for the next couple of days.
Unfortunately I'm currently cut off from my own kitchen and I have to stay out of the house as much as I can due to a situation with the person I live with, who got $5k this week from claiming me on their taxes, refuses to give me any of it, and is still hounding me for money because "I owe it to her" for the time I lived with her previously. I had only let her do it because she agreed to give me the money, but she turned around and betrayed her promise. I was used.
My car needs about $1k worth of work, and I was relying on that money for that. All of my tires are pretty bald and all 4 need to be replaced, on top of other issues, which is why it's so expensive. I owe my old landlord $1100 but I'm working on getting that cleared without having to pay anything.
I also still owe the cashapp borrow feature $125.
I'm broke pretty much as soon as I get paid every month due to bills. Any help I can get will go a long way.
