~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ He was someone you told yourself to only admire from afar. Regardless of the fact that you had known him since the two of you could attend school. Even then, you hadn’t spoken much to Tooru Oikawa.
It was intimidating to have him even look in your direction.
He had a god-like presence that always shines too brightly when he smiles. His eyes had a way of singling out his admirers like a lion stalking his prey. On more than one occasion, you told yourself to stop going to volleyball games because you knew that if he ended up approaching you, you’d become a blubbering mess. At least, that’s how you always pictured it.
But rather than avoiding him at all costs, you couldn’t help to watch him at his practices and games. If there was anything that no one could deny, it was that Oikawa had a talent that was nearly impossible to beat.
His talent alone had entranced you, and after years of watching him play in elementary and middle school, you found yourself applying for the manager position on Aoba Johsai’s boys volleyball team.
Purely because now you had an obsession with the game.
And since you’ve been so observant, you knew that you could at least help the boys on the team in a practical manner.
As a first year, you doubted that you would be accepted…
But after a week of waiting, you found yourself sitting in one of the school’s gymnasiums, helping Oikawa set up the net in the middle of the court for practice. You found that he was actually quite disarming in conversation, making it so that you could speak with him easily. Your anxiety about being around him slipped away with a single ‘Hello.’, and you weren’t sure if that unsettled you or not.
When you applied to be Seijoh’s manager, you expected the long hours and dedication you’d have to put in. Actually, you welcomed the distraction it gave you as an extracurricular.
What you didn’t expect was the disdain most girls had for you.
Most girls at Aoba Johsai hated you and the time you got with who they considered to be the hottest guys in school. They’d blatantly ignore you and write cruel messages on your locker and desk. In the few times that any of the boys were present during these incidents, they’d come to your defense. And you couldn’t have been more grateful to have your team back you up.
You would always assure them that the bullying didn’t bother you. It didn’t bother you much when you had friends on the volleyball teams all over the country, including the couple of female managers they had.
It was something you reminded yourself of when the crude comments written on your social media did bother you. Although, the harassment progressed farther online with absurdly edited pictures of you on certain profiles. And the comments multiplied by the day, making it all the more worse.
When the remarks got particularly bad, you would hide yourself in the janitorial closet of the gymnasium, crying in the privacy of the vacant room.
Having the girls at school, and only the girls at school, torment you was something you could deal with.
But having strangers command you to die and tell you that you were worthless hurt you more than you could have ever expected.
You were sniffling softly and nearly at the end of your tears when someone walked into the closet. Looking up at the shadow of whoever had come in, you wipe furiously at your damp cheeks, trying to erase the fact that you were just bawling your eyes out.
“Oh- sorry, I’ll be out in a sec-” Speaking softly to the intruder, you stand up, taking a deep breath to calm yourself down.
“N/N-chan?” Oikawa’s voice surprises you.
“Tooru..”
“Why are you in here?” He takes a moment to observe your features and asks another question, “Have you been crying?”
Anxiously, you tuck a lock of hair behind your ear before fiddling with the ends of it. A sarcastic, curt laugh tumbles from your throat as your red-rimmed eyes find the linoleum floor. “Yeah..” You sniffle before adding, “Pretty lame, right?”
Before you have a chance to look at him again, Oikawa’s arms wrap around you in a binding hug.
The jacket he wears feels cool against your skin and you find yourself leaning your heated cheeks against it, silent tears rolling down your cheeks from the gesture you’d never expect from him.
“No.. No, you’re not lame at all, Y/N.” His mouth rests against the top of your head and you can feel his lips twist into a small smile. “Those people are gonna get what’s coming to them for being so mean to you, I’m sure of it. In the meantime, you should just ignore it, ya?” He leans back to look at you, thumb carefully wiping away one of your stray tears.
“Maybe then they’ll get bored and find someone else to pick on.” He adds with his trademark dazzling smile.
Nodding, you agree with him, leaning back onto his shoulder as he rubbed your back to comfort you. In that moment, your personal relationship with Tooru became much more than it was before.
As far as you knew, Oikawa hadn’t spoken with anyone about what happened that day, but you did notice many things start to change.
For one thing, the atrocious bullying had stopped quite abruptly and you now only had to deal with a few harmless glares during your classes. For another, Oikawa seemed to pay more attention to you. Not that you were complaining.
He had a way of drawing you in and making you even more smitten with him, and he knew it.
It didn’t take long at all for him to claim you as his girlfriend.
And at first, you felt like you were walking on Cloud Nine. There was no way that you could’ve fallen any deeper in love with him. He was so considerate and gentlemanly and kind. He brought you on nice dates when he didn’t have practice and showered you with compliments all the time. And when he touched you, you felt a pleasure you could never imagine before. He made you happy. He did.
Really.
So you promised yourself that doing things like this wasn’t a big deal.
Because Tooru wanted it. And you loved him.
- - - - -
“That’s right, baby girl. All of Iwa-chan’s dick in that pretty little mouth of yours.” Oikawa prompted you from the side of the room, sporting a sizable bulge as he watched the action. “I want you to make him feel really good, hm?”
Following Oikawa’s instructions, you force yourself to choke on more of Iwaizumi’s girth, your eyes watching as his head tilts back to let out a deep groan.
Trying to evoke more of his noises, you wrap your hand around the base of his cock to pump the inches you can’t comfortably fit into your mouth. Behind you, Oikawa tutts, shaking his head. “Naughty girl.. You should know it’s improper to use your hands.”
Your scalp screams as he pulls you back with a fistful of your hair. A pitiful whimper leaves your lips which are covered in a messy amount of saliva.
You fall into Oikawa’s lap weakly, the back of your head on his shoulder as he pries your legs open to display your arousal. As you attempt to close your legs, embarrassed that you’re so turned on in this situation, he hooks his legs between yours, so that his knees rest on the inside of yours.
“Look at this Iwa-chan,” Tooru’s slender fingers slide along the puffed lips of your pussy, causing you to whine and grind your hips.
Before you can receive any lasting relief, Oikawa pulls his fingers away from you, displaying the way your slick sticks and drips down his fingers. “She’s such a cock-hungry slut that she’s already dripping after sucking dick.”
His fingers dip down again, and this time he teasingly enters your twitching hole and pulls a moan from you.
Oikawa starts to curl his fingers against you in a way that you know will have you seeing white. Skillfully he adjusts his wrist to reach deeper into you, brushing continuously against the sweet spongy texture of your walls.
“Tooru- ‘M close!”
And just like that, he pulls his fingers away, making you cry out. “Please, I wanna cum, Toru!” Your eyes brim with tears as you look at him, desperate for the release you nearly had.
“That’s not my name.” His eyes are dark and he gives you a small smirk before saying, “If you wanna cum so bad..” He pushes you unceremoniously off his lap, relishing in the whine you give him. “You better beg Iwa-chan really nice.”
You look up to Oikawa from the ground, wide-eyed and begging. “Sir..”
Giving Hajime a blowjob while Tooru watched was the original agreement and you weren’t sure that you much liked this spontaneous new plan.
“Please, sir..” Your hands reached for his lap, intending to try pleasuring him so he’ll want to finish you himself. “I want you to make me cum, please.” Oikawa’s vice grip stops your hands before they are even close to touching him. The grip is tight enough it brings tears to your eyes, and you’re sure it’ll leave bruises for later on.
“You heard me, pet.” He nearly spits in your face and you flinch at the nickname as tears collect on your lashes. “If you want to cum, you have to have Iwaizumi fuck you.”
He pushes you away with ease, letting you fall back onto your palms.
“So you better beg him hard.” His eyes flash with sadistic intent. “And before you even think about it.. There’s no way I’ll let you finish yourself tonight. I’ll tie you to the headboard if I have to insure it.” The smile he gives you doesn’t match his words.
When you turn to look at Hajime, you can see pity in his eyes. Like he can see just how uncomfortable you are with Oikawa’s behavior.
But both of you knew that Oikawa wouldn’t let you leave until he got what he wanted.
And that he got.
- - - - -
Events like that intense night with Hajime and Tooru became typical for you. And even though you had expressed your disinterest with being shared, you found yourself still wanting to make him happy.
What started out as a normal relationship started to feel like ownership.
You dwelled on how similar you actually became to the posts those girls used to make about you being a slut, and that just seemed to make you feel worse about yourself.
So you would go to Oikawa again and again, seeking that warm comfort he gave you that one day in the janitor’s closet, crying your eyes out about how worthless and whorish you felt. And you’d be comforted by him for just enough time to make you feel okay before he would make you feel like a whore again; crying under him as he pounded you into the mattress.
Then his pretty words would bring you snuggling up to him in bed as he told you how precious and special you were, and how much he loved you.
Even though you knew that you felt terrible and wanted to end things with him, you’d stay because you were in love, and because Tooru told you he needed you.
You told yourself that he at least made you happy sometimes, and that it was normal for him to flat out ignore you after games because he needed to make his fangirls happy. It was understandable to a degree. A guy like him would need popularity to bring him where he wanted to go and you supported him one hundred percent.
It wasn’t like you relied on him completely for happiness.
You had friends for that.
Most of your friends were from the boys volleyball league; people you had met during the many, many volleyball camps you had attended with the Aoba Johsai.
You couldn’t have been more grateful for the frequent training camps in your third year, given the growing uneasiness you had around your own team. The only people on your team you felt comfortable around were the coaches and Iwaizumi, who was always respectful to you.
After a while, you had caught on to the fact that Oikawa was making Iwaizumi feel like he had to do what he says, similarly to the way he makes you feel.
Shortly after, you heard an argument break out between them and though you haven’t explicitly talked to each other about it, you knew that Iwaizumi had gotten fed up and told Oikawa he wasn’t gonna fuck his girlfriend anymore. And that Tooru should stop using me like a sex doll to be thrown around because it’s pretty clear that I don’t like it.
You had always thought of Iwaizumi as a protector and close friend. Someone who was gentle with the people he cares about.
He always made a point of treating you as a gentleman should.
In fact, most of the boys who weren’t on your team treated you kindly and warmly. It was truly no wonder that you enjoyed the training camps so much.
Or nights like this one.
When the second and third years from the prefecture would decide to throw a party. The presence of other school’s teams made you more comfortable with the environment.
Finally you’re able to relax.
“Hey, hey, hey, Y/N!” Bokuto’s voice makes you genuinely smile. You turn to look at him from where you stand on Kuroo’s porch, seeing as he was the one with the idea to throw a party during spring break.
It takes you a second to realize that you haven’t seen Bokuto much in the past few months.
But it’s like having the first breath of fresh air in a long time when you find him smiling just as wide as he had the last time you saw him. It’s enough to keep you floating, just like it always is. “Hi, Bo.” You answer without matching his energy, because you couldn’t scrape up the vitality to do so.
His head tilts to the side and instead of pity, you see confusion in his expression before turning to lean your forearms against the railing like you were before. Your eyes simply watch the sky turn orange and fuschia as the sun sets, your face void of any expression except a small smile that Bokuto placed there.
“Uh oh..” You hear Bokuto approach you but remain looking at the evening sky. “I didn’t do something stupid, did I?”
A glance to Fukurodani’s ace has you softly giggling at the puppy dog eyes he gives you. He’s at your side, bent at the knees so he can be shorter than you, preparing to beg to be forgiven for whatever he thinks that he’s done. “No, of course not, Kotarou.” You shake your head at his words. “You’re nothing but an angel.”
Your smile gets a tiny bit bigger as you pat his head, careful not to ruin the way he styled it.
“Okay, then…” He brings his hand to his chin, straightening himself out to lean his elbow on the porch railing. Owlish eyes observe you carefully, a look of deep concentration etched into Bokuto’s features. It’s as though he thinks if he stares long enough, he’ll be able to read your mind.
You look so much more dull and lifeless now than you had been when he first met you. You had bags beneath your beautiful eyes and your cheeks had sunken in a bit. What made him the most upset was how your eyes didn’t reflect your smile.
“I give up.. Why do you look so sad?” His voice softly coos as he asks the question, head tilting with inquiry.
You shrug and give an unconvincing, “I’m just tired.”
Bokuto is overwhelmingly unprepared for how depressed you sound. His smile falters with unease. It’s normally not so easy to read other people’s emotional states for him. He knew he could be dim-witted at times but this was not one of them. It was clear that whatever had you so down wasn't something you wanted to talk about. Regardless of how much he wanted to know, Bokuto felt it was his job to try to get your mind off whatever was upsetting you.
In a few seconds, his smile is back in full force, wanting nothing more than to find a way to make you happy.
“C’mon.” Bokuto holds out his hand for you to take, excitement flashing in his eyes.
Now it’s your turn to be confused, but rather than asking questions, your hand slips into his and you let him pull you through the house to Kuroo’s backyard. Once you’re there, he lets go of your hand and runs to a playset that probably hadn’t been touched in quite a while.
There are plenty of people lying in the grass and talking around the pool, filling the air with empty chatter combined with the music that flowed outside from the house.
Your eyebrows knit together in a disapproving manner. “Bo..”
The childish excitement he has when he sits on one of the two swings on the playset is admittedly a bit contagious. But, to save yourself embarrassment from accidentally breaking Kuroo’s childhood playhouse, you try arguing as you approach the volleyball player.
“This is meant for kids like 10 and under, you know?”
His eyes glint with competitiveness as he pushes himself back on the swing. “I don’t care, I bet I’ll still swing higher than you.”
Your eyes narrow and you quickly find yourself plopping into the other swing, quickly accepting the challenge. “Oh, you’re on, Mr. Owl.” Pushing off the ground with as much force as you can muster, your mind focuses solely on getting your own swing higher and higher. A grin spreads across your face, brightening your features as you allow yourself to have genuine fun.
The rusted chains of the old swings squeak with sudden use, but luckily don’t show any sign of falling apart.
Seeing as Bokuto’s body is dense with muscle, you find yourself soaring higher than him in no time; laughter seeping out of the both of you in a hysterical manner. “I win!” You shout as you reach the peak of your swing, glancing in the direction of Koutarou. Even though you can only see a blurred version of him, you can tell that he is wearing a look of utmost determination.
“No! I’m not even at my highest yet! Just wait!” He shouts eagerly and you concede.
“Fine, you have one more minute to beat me.”
In that minute, your eyes drift to the sky and appreciate the dazzling stars above. If you focus hard enough you start to recognize a couple constellations. The first thing you see is Orion’s belt, then the whole of Orion.
As you pick out the stars of the Little and Big Dipper, you relax with the free feeling of your hair blowing back and forth with each rock of your legs.
This is what you would imagine flying to feel like, and you get lost in the fantasy of having the power to fly away from the groping hands of your team. Although, you have no idea where you would fly. Maybe you find somewhere like Neverland and be able to live to your own whims and wishes. Or maybe on some desolate tropical island with natives who actually respected you.
You’re so entranced with your thoughts that you don’t realize when you are genuinely airborne until you hear Bokuto’s voice shouting your name with panic.
The impact with the ground comes just as soon as you’ve realized that you’ve tumbled face-first off the swing. “N/N!” Oikawa’s voice beckons you to look for him from where you are on the ground. When your eyes find him jogging towards you from the house, your cheeks burn with guilt at the thoughts you had.
Bokuto’s at your side before Tooru and insistently, yet gently, squishes your cheeks in both of his warm palms to get you to look at him.
Apparently you hadn’t been answering his questions while Oikawa's presence clouded your mind. “Hm?” You raise an eyebrow at Bokuto, telling him that you’re listening.
“Are you hurt?”
You bat away his hands and shake your head while brushing the dust from your knees, which had taken most of the impact. “M’ fine. Just scraped my knees a little.” A reassuring smile settles on your face, although it falls just slightly when Oikawa approaches your side.
You could swear for a moment that Bokuto picked up on the shift in your mood when Oikawa appeared, but ended up just blaming that on wishful thinking.
“I’ll go get some bandages.” The ace leaves you with the setter before you can detest.
Tooru remains silent in an eerie manner, and it takes a lot of courage for you to look him in the eyes. “Can you stand?” He reaches out to you with long slender fingers and when you grab them, a shudder runs down your spine from how cold they feel.
“Yeah.” You answer, and within a moment you’re on your feet, being pulled into the kitchen by your tyrannical boyfriend.
“Sit.” He motions to the island countertop and you obey, swinging your legs as you wait for Koutarou to emerge from the bathroom with the promised bandages. When he arrives, Oikawa swiftly takes the bandaids from him and bends down to apply them to your knees.
Oddly, he seems to completely disregard Bokuto offering to help bandage you. In fact, it honestly seemed as though he were ignoring the ace. He must’ve gotten the same vibe, because within a minute Koutarou left the kitchen with Kuroo.
“There. All better, right?” Tooru smiles as he gives you a kiss on the cheek, holding your hips to help you off of the counter. “Come sit with me for a while, hm?”
His fingers swirl delicately at the skin peeking from between your shirt and shorts; you resist pulling away from the icy chill of his gaze and nod. “Yeah.” You agree and follow him into the living room, which was now clouded with smoke. It was hard to tell the exact source, but it was clear that a few of the people in the room were extremely high.
After a few moments, the smoke was dizzying.
You were never one to indulge in intoxication and you never really saw an opportunity where you would feel comfortable with it. The atmosphere of this room made you queasy, even more so when Oikawa pulled you into his lap on the sofa.
He pulls you close against him, and for a moment you swear you feel like you’re suffocating. Your mouth becomes dry as you pull in an uneasy breath of pungent air.
“ ‘Kawa, I need some water.” Your voice is small against the thumping music inside the house, but Tooru acknowledges your request.
“Oi, Matsu!” The setter calls to his teammate from across the room. “Can you get Y/N some water?” Miraculously, the dark-haired middle blocker hears his team captain and within a short amount of time, you have a glass of water in your hands and chug it thirstily.
Oikawa chuckles from behind you, wrapping his arms around your midsection. “Slow down babe, the water isn’t going anywhere. I promise.” He kisses the junction of your neck a bit more sultrously than you would like in public and you push your shoulder up to signal your apprehension with the gesture.
He chuckles again, his chilling breath caressing your neck and making you tense. Another kiss touches the nape of your neck as Tooru snakes his hands to your inner thighs, fully intending to pull them apart.
“Not now, Tooru.” You keep your voice quiet, not wanting to make a scene around so many people as your hands pull him away from your thighs.
If he heard you, you couldn’t tell but it was clear in your body language that you were not comfortable. Oikawa, either ignoring your words or not getting the message, again latched his lips to your neck, this time nibbling to mark you. “C’mon, don’t you think our friends here deserve a show.” He cooed the words to you while his fingers nimbly began to unbutton your shorts.
“No.” You push his hands away again and this time strain to get up and walk away. His strong arms easily pull you back down against an obvious bulge that grinds against you.
“Tooru, Stop it.” Your voice gets slightly desperate, realizing that he really isn’t letting you go, and that your pleas are falling upon deaf ears. Writhing, you free yourself of his grasp momentarily before his hand is wrapped around your wrist to pull you back.
“Oi- Shittykawa.” Hajime’s voice breaks Oikawa’s concentration and focuses the setter’s glare on his ace. “She said ‘No.’ So fucking stop it.”
With his focus on Iwaizumi, Tooru’s grip loosens and you take the opportunity to leave the vertigo-inducing room to find one that feels more safe.
The house feels much bigger now than it did when you first arrived, and even after leaving the living room, you swear your surroundings are spinning. When you reach the front door, you hear faint chants reminiscent of a fight in the very background of your mind. Whether or not the fight was actually happening, you had no idea.
All you knew was that there seemed to now be two door knobs that led out onto the porch.
You blink and focus extra hard and end up grabbing for both of them. One of your hands ghosts through the imposter knob, while the other successfully twists and opens the door to the fresh air outside.
Hope that the outside air would alleviate your symptoms quickly washed away as the wooden panels of the porch lurched beneath your feet, causing you to fall. Despite the desperate desire you had to get away from this place, you laid your feverish body on the ground.
The only thing you could do against the spinning world was to close your eyes and hope it would go away soon.

We’re All Strangers
Pairing: Iwaizumi Hajime x Reader; Oikawa Tooru x Reader {One sided} Genre: Fluff; Angst; Smut; Happy Ending TW: There will be some dark themes like bullying, self-harm and dark thoughts in general.
College life was so similar to high school and don’t let them tell you otherwise. You still had the preppies, you still had the jocks, you still had the drama club students, you had more than enough art students and not to mention the high achievers. And then there was Oikawa Tooru, breezing in like he owned place, such was the norm. People would part like the Red sea when they saw him, girls would flock in troves behind him, anything to catch his attention. But he had his eyes on only one girl. He had seen her in passing, instantly swayed by her presence and it was in that instant that Oikawa had no way of actually speaking to her, his words dying on the tip of his tongue. Something about her robbed him of air every time she passed him by, those soft locks of hair brushing past and leaving the lingering sent of her shampoo in the air, he could only follow like a puppy. But she would never look at him, not once and it saddened him that even with his good looks, she would never spare him a glance. He could never work up the courage to really ask her out, he would be shaking in his boots anytime he really thought about it, his friends encouraged him but the fear still remained, he didn’t want to be rejected by someone like you, someone who deemed perfect in his eyes. But he could only avoid it for so long, his feelings growing stronger with each passing day and he could barely concentrate in his lectures, his mind lingering on the thought of you. It was constant driving him mad, he needed to let you know. “I dare you to do it Oikawa, you haven’t had the balls to do ever since you saw her.” Miyamura laughed, patting the brunette on the back in jest, but his eyes were focused on her, sitting across the patio with her nose buried in a book, her glasses balanced on the bridge of her nose as she flicked through the pages without once looking up. “I bet she’s a hot piece of ass without those glasses, if she actually put a little more effort into how she looked.” Yamazashi chortled and Oikawa promptly glared at them. He wondered how he even ended up with friends like this. “I’ll do it, I’m asking her out.” He declared, balling up his fists as he stood to his feet, marching over to the girl with determined steps despite the quiver of fear at the base of his spine, his friends cheering him on. He stood before her, he swallowed hard which caught her attention and she looked up. Her eyes were shallow, almost uninterested and bored with his presence, it made him want to run but he needed to let her know. “[Last Name] I just wanted to tell you…” He trailed off, looking at anything as long as it wasn’t her face, his cheeks turning pinker than cherry blossoms. “Tell me what.” She stated, she was curt and to the point, she had no time for him from just her words alone but he was hoping that his confession would at least sway her, even just a little bit. He finally looked up, honey eyes locking with her stunning [Eye Color] ones, the color drained from his face when he realized that she was glaring at him, the daggers in her darkened eyes shimmering in cold fury. He took a step back, taken aback by the hostility and he realized very quickly that this was a very bad idea, but he couldn’t fathom why she was angry, why would she tell him no. But her rejection was nothing he could have predicted even with the countless amounts of daydreaming he did. “I wanted to ask you out.” He stammered. She snorted and grinned cruelly. “Why the fuck would I do that?”
***
“She said that?” “Man that was cold.”
Oikawa sighed in annoyance, Yamazashi and Miyamura were no help at all in lifting his sour mood, and actually they were no help to begin with. After being rejected by his crush, Oikawa had dashed to the men’s bathroom, his cheeks red in humiliation and lips in a full pout. He wasn’t necessarily sad anymore, but he was starting to seethe in his own rejection, who was she to turn him down? Who was she to make a fool out of him? Just who did she think she was? He was Oikawa Tooru, and he was not going down without a fight. “I see that look in your eyes Kawa~ what are you thinking?” Miyamura hummed, his dark eyes coming to life with mischief, he was ready to avenge his downfallen friend, or just cause mayhem in general for anyone being the sadist that he was. “I’m thinking that I make her my girlfriend.” Oikawa smiled his eyes dark in anger. “Make her your girlfriend? You’re going to force her?” Yamazashi questioned with wide eyes. It wasn’t settling well with him despite his choice words earlier, he understood that there was a limit, but peer pressure was a fickle thing. “Go for it! Show her that you don’t take no for answer! It’s called being passionate.” Miyamura encouraged, pushing Oikawa towards the door to watch the show unfold, he knew he was walking his friend into a lot of trouble but he lived for the pain of others, guilt wasn’t a word in his dictionary. His courage and motives being boosted by his friends, Oikawa went in search of her, a charming smile coming to his lips when he spotted her at the entrance of the college, phone in hand as she typed away and unaware of the danger that loomed not too far away, and quickly approaching. Her phone was snatched out of her hand, fingers grasping air as she quickly whirled around to find the thief, Oikawa holding the device out of arms reach with a cheeky grin. He quickly added his number while holding her back, her irritated growls amusing him. He handed her back the phone which she swiped back with speed, a death glare painting her sharp features. “What did you do to my phone?” She demanded, unlocking the piece of technology and quickly scanning through her apps and messages to find anything out of place. “I just added my number babe~ I’m going to pick you up at seven and I’m taking you to this amazing restaurant, then we’re going to take a trip back to my place for a little ‘us’ time.” Oikawa chuckled, a hand running through his hair as he shot her a suggestive wink. “I’m not going anywhere with you.” [Name] hissed, her hand reaching into her satchel to pull out her pepper spray, anything to deter him so that she could make a break for it. “Says who baby?” “Says me Trashykawa.” A hand landed on his shoulder, heavy and firm, turning him around with ease until he was staring into the eyes of one Iwaizumi Hajime, his olive gaze burning in contempt the longer he stared Oikawa down.
“Iwa-chan…” Oikawa whispered in disbelief, chocolate eyes blown wide in surprise at seeing an old friend. He looked between [Name] and Iwaizumi, the pieces slowly clicking until he was frowning at the reality he was facing. “You’re dating him? You could do so much better.” Oikawa gritted out, tearing Iwaizumi’s hand off his shoulder as he whirled around to glare heatedly at her. [Name] shook her head and took Iwaizumi’s hand in hers, linking their fingers as they prepared to leave.
“Hajime is my best friend, and you would never be a better option than him.” [Name] shrugged, her eyes cold as she started walking away, Iwaizumi ignoring him completely as he followed the girl.
Oikawa was left in a state of shock, anger and disbelief. He was shaking in rage, he needed closure from it all and from the pits of his mind did an idea spring forth, a sinister laugh leaving him as he stared at their retreating figures.
“I’ll make you pay [Name].”

Chapter 10: Sibling Day
It’s About Time!
Taglist: @jasminedesu @elianetsantana @thefangirl54
Growing up, you and your siblings had a deal: if any of you, for whatever reason, needed a day off from something, the others would make sure that it happened, no matter the situation. Miwa cashed in her “getaway” card a few times in high school, resulting in you begging Asahi to call her school and pretend he was the dad of the family (he had a relatively deep voice for a middle schooler), and this time it was your turn. You texted Miwa during class when Daichi thought you were finally replying to the GC. (you weren’t, and you refused to check the messages). Within the remaining 30 minutes of class, you see a teacher come into the doorway of the classroom, distracting your classmates. The man gestures to your teacher, interrupting his lecture. You’re already packing up your stuff because you know what’s happening.
“Miss Kageyama?”
“Yes sir?”
“You’re dismissed from school, we received a call from your sister.” You nod, and silently thank Miwa for being so dang quick with the follow-through. It was easier not to turn back to see the four pairs of eyes boring into you from your friends and instead head towards Tobio’s classroom, pulling him from school too, otherwise it would raise suspicion. Your brother raised his eyebrows but didn’t verbally question the event until off of school property.
“What’s going on?”
“I need a sibling getaway day,” you explain, “I’ll explain further but I need to leave school.” He nods, processing the information. You had never called for a “getaway card” before. Both he and Miwa had, but this is the first one you called. He knew something was wrong and his main feeling was grateful that you insisted he come with you. After dropping your bags off at home, you suggest going to a cafe that was a few blocks away. Tobio didn’t argue and let you lead. Along the way the setter messaged his captain and apologized, explaining that he wouldn’t be at practice.

Even after arguing with your brother you both enjoy your dessert immensely. After each of you has eaten your fair share, he looks at you expectantly. The seats at the café are comfortable, which you’re grateful for because the situation is far from comfortable. Sighing, you knew this was coming. You promised to share what warranted your first ever getaway day, and it was time to own up to that. He was missing practice, for god’s sake, and this was a boy who was serious about his practice. But it was also a boy who was serious about his sisters, which is something you and Miwa were always grateful.
“The background of this starts in middle school,” you start, and he gives you his full attention. “When Tooru and I were dating,” he cringes at this, wanting to forget you ever dated his senpai, but doesn’t interrupt, “His fan club was growing more and more every day. At first they didn’t mess with me because anytime I was near them, I was near Tooru and none of them wanted to seem ugly or rude in front of the person they admired.” The weight in your chest that had been haunting you since the movie night grew bigger as you continued your explanation. “For the most part at the beginning, they didn’t mess with me. When they found out that you were on the team, also a setter, Tooru’s fan club made a nasty accusation that I was only dating him because he was your senpai.” Tobio’s eyes widen, but he still stays silent.
“So they started calling me names, sending me nasty messages on social media, so on and so forth. At the beginning, it didn’t bother me too much. Later on, though, they started to say things like that you were only getting so much playing time because of my connection to Tooru, which of course was false because you’ve always been talented enough to stand on your own. But the words and insults started happening at my school. They made friends and connections with fellow students and I started getting bullied in my hallways. It was overwhelming.” You feel a sense of relief as you finally share this with your brother, and a sense of dread. You never wanted to drag him into this mess, but in a way, you’re protecting him with the knowledge rather than from it.
“What really pushed me over the edge is when they assumed that it wasn’t getting to me and they started to threaten to go after you. That’s when I decided a break up needed to happen no matter what, so I went to talk to Tooru about it.”
“Was that when you walked in the gym after he tried to punch me?” You take a deep breath, glad you didn’t have to be the one to voice that incident.
“Yeah. I had already planned on breaking up with him, but that gave me a better reason to do so. I was actually a bit grateful when Iwa informed me of it. I told Tooru’s fan club that we had broken up and they had backed off.”
“Wait, had?” This was the part you were really not wanting to explain, but you needed to.
“You picked up on the fact that I like Daichi,” you rush out, avoiding eye contact as you cheeks flush. Tobio takes a moment to process what you said, and he goes, nonchalantly,
“Yeah, you’re not super secretive about that.”
“Thanks. Mei, Asahi, and Suga agree with you on that, and they planned a get together on Sunday at the mall with the five of us and completely bailed on Daichi and I for the sake of an ‘impromptu date’.” Tobio is following along still, not surprised there’s so much info to catch up on. You’ve never been one to share. In fact, this situation has taken longer than you had anticipated, your drink melting in the process. Customers have come and gone, but you and your younger brother have remained in your seats. You continue on with the story, nearing the end.
“While it wasn’t an actual date, one of the fan club accounts saw us having fun and started sending me hateful messages about it. Pretty much saying the same things they said back then, that I’m only interested in Daichi because he’s your senpai, that I don’t actually have real feelings or anything, and the accusations hurt even though I know they aren’t true.” Tears start to well in your eyes and it’s obvious that it’s affected you more than you’ve ever let on. “I don’t want to deal with this again, and I don’t want anyone dragged into the mess, so I needed this day to process and accept that nothing’s going to happen between me and Daichi.” You say with such a finality that Tobio knows he can talk, although, he’s not sure how to share his thoughts kindly, so he does it how he always talks. Bluntly.
“That’s unfair to Daichi, Y/N, and you know it.” You give him a quizzical look, thinking your brother would be on your side. He continues in his normal agitated voice, “This doesn’t just involve you. He has feelings for you too, and I’m sure he’d be hurt if he knew you weren’t going to pursue something, even though you really want to, solely because of the fact that you’re scared.” This sinks in for a moment.
“You’re scared, Y/N, and that’s okay. Those fangirls were mean to you, are terrible to you, and I know it’s easier to run away, but since when are you someone who does something because it’s easy? Why are you trying to protect people without asking for their input?” He stares you down as he adds, “I appreciate you wanting to protect the people you care about. I’m so lucky that I fall into that category, but I’m not in middle school anymore. I’m not incapable of defending myself, and neither are your friends. If some Oikawa fan wants to say that I got where I am because of who you’ve dated, let them. We know the truth and that’s what matters.” Tobio may be the least emotionally intelligent one of your siblings, but it’s moments like this that remind you he is an expert in you and Miwa.
After the emotional talk was over, you both switched back to topics like school and volleyball, with you promising to help him study, learning that Hinata isn’t doing so great either. You offer to do a study group for both of them together, and he agrees, saying he’ll bring it up to Hinata the next time he sees him. Eventually, it was time to go home and explain what happened to Miwa, not because she would pry, but because you were tired of keeping this from the people you loved. On the walk home, Tobio brings up one more thing.
“Y/N?”
“Hm?”
“I really think you and Daichi would make a good couple, but either way, he deserves the truth.”
You sighed, but you know it’s the truth.

all for you // iwaizumi hajime x reader
Author’s Note: This is a soulmate AU and I’ve always wanted to work on one~ Why I chose Hajime is because I adore him to death and gah he’s just so perfect for this scenario— Or maybe I don’t see him like everyone else does. Thank you all for being so kind to my other works, you really have no idea how much this motivates me? Please keep letting me know what you think, I think I can turn this quarantine feeling around if you guys help me out! Thanks a bunch, I’m really grateful. :”)
Word count: 3125
Pairing: SOULMATE AU! Iwaizumi Hajime x Reader
Warnings: angst to fluff, lots of fluff, mentions of bullying, ignorant parents
You don’t remember exactly when it started, but you could pin it around your 9th birthday or something.
It was the first time you discovered that your soulmate played volleyball. You never told your parents about it, considering how distant they were about everything. It wasn’t as if they were mean to you, it’s just that they gave you a feeling that they didn’t care, and maybe they didn’t? No one in the world knew you had a volleyball player as a soulmate and you had made the discovery only because your close friend was in the girl’s volleyball team. Seeing her palms red and bruised only led you to pin a similar feeling in your own palms, and there you had it.
You wondered what pain you were giving your soulmate in return. It’s true, you could feel what your soulmate was feeling—injuries more than anything else, but you weren’t an athlete. The most you ever felt with respect to pain were a few paper cuts here and there and they weren’t even painful to you, so you knew your existence didn’t even make a difference to your soulmate.
But damn, your soulmate never missed a day of practice. Eventually, as you grew, the stinging stopped—and you even read about what you can do to ease the numbness in your palms after a game. You bought an assortment of hand-creams and moisturised your skin everyday, hoping that your soulmate would at least notice this effort from your end. However, you’d not know if they noticed unless they told you themselves but you don’t know if that’ll happen anytime soon. It wasn’t as if you’d given up finding them, there were other factors in your life that demanded more attention.
You hiss as you head to the washroom of your school, knowing that your soulmate must be practising again. Heading inside the booth, you sit on the toilet seat and let out a breath. Your hands are shaking now, not only because of the pain, but because of what was to come.
“Check the stalls,” A voice sounded from the bathroom outside and your eyes widened. “She must be here.”
You never knew this was how your high school life would go. You never realized that being bullied could come down to such low levels. Not only did you agree to everything Junko asked you to do, but you never said a word in edgewise. Your eyes teared up, knowing that she was going to find you again, and do something again.
“Ah,” You heard her raspy voice, “This is where you are, (l/n)-chan!”
A second later, you expected the door to fling open and for her to grab you by your collar and shake you with some nasty words. When the door didn’t open, your eyes widened. Looking up to the top of the booth, you quickly shut your eyes for what was to come. Junko had a bucket of water and she turned it around, the water completely soaking you—your uniform and your shoes. Only laughter could be heard after that, your whimpering form forgotten, and the last words you heard Junko say were,
“Just make sure you don’t score more than I do in anything, okay?”
You sat there for a second more before pressing your hands to your face and crying. You knew you didn’t deserve this, and you knew that there was nothing you could do. You couldn’t tell your parents, because not once in their life have they asked you how your day went or even if they loved you. You couldn’t tell your best friend because your school’s team was finally practicing for inter-high.
What you didn’t notice was how suddenly the stinging had stopped. It was as if your soulmate had paused practice because they knew what was happening with you, and through their silence they were saying something you couldn’t understand.
However, you didn’t notice it though.
*
“Iwa-chan?”
Oikawa blinked as Iwaizumi suddenly rushed to the side of the court, a nasty scowl on his face. The team stopped practice midway, but only Oikawa knew that this expression on Hajime meant that it was related to his soulmate. Hajime rarely spoke about his soulmate, if Oikawa was being honest, but there were some occasions where he’d let some details slip.
Like how sad they were almost all the time, or how Hajime would sometimes forget to moisturize his hands before he went to bed, but would wake up to find fully moisturized hands either way. Oikawa used to tease him about how caring his soulmate was, but seeing a nasty look on Hajime didn’t rest too well.
“Is it them again?”
Hajime nodded, before sighing. He couldn’t understand what it was, but it felt as if someone had poured a bucket of water on you, and you definitely weren’t ready for it. And since it was right after school, he knew only one plausible explanation was possible.
“They’re being bullied.” Hajime’s voice was low, but Oikawa caught what he said.
“That’s...” He didn’t know how to respond.
Hajime sighed before wondering if you were at least in his school. It was wishful thinking, seeing how the chances of that happening are very slim. Shaking his head, he stared into his palm before feeling helplessness rush into his system. How can you miss someone you don’t even know? This whole soulmate system was downright idiotic.
As soon as practice was done, Oikawa and Iwaizumi were ready to leave instantly. They didn’t have a game coming, but the practice that day was particularly intense. Iwaizumi couldn’t stop thinking about the water incident, and only wondered how easy it’d have been if he’d already met you. You could tell him what was happening and he’d at least comfort you. Whoever you were, Hajime was sure that the problem to solve his own helplessness was to offer assistance to you, and seeing how that wasn’t happening was slowly ruining him.
He didn’t realize that he was drowning out Oikawa’s words in the subway that evening. Hajime was staring intensely into nothing, feeling bad for you, not knowing who you were.
“Iwa-chan! Look!”
Iwaizumi blinked before turning around and looking at where Oikawa was pointing. There, in another cabin in the subway, stood you—soaked from top to bottom, clutching your bag in your hand, your (h/c) hair sticking to your head and your eyes staring at nothing. Hajime’s heart raced at the mere sight of how sad you looked, but swallowed your appearance in like you were going to be asked in the exams. Every cell in Hajime’s body was screaming that you were his happily ever after, and there you stood, only a few meters away, separated by an electric door.
“Iwa-chan! You have to speak to her! She might be the—”
The train suddenly stopped, and Hajime’s eyes widened as you rushed to walk out. It wasn’t his stop yet, but he’d seen your uniform, he’d seen the color of your hair and the color of your eyes. He’d even seen the stop you’d get down at, exactly three stops before his own; he was tempted to run after you, but he knew he wasn’t the sort to recklessly jump out like that. Oikawa looked puzzled, but Iwaizumi had his own plans. He turned away, a soft smile on his lips, and thought of the next time he’d see her now that he had a face.
It was safe to say that Iwaizumi was instantly captivated. A hundred questions crowded in his mind. He wanted to know who you were, why you were there, if you liked sugar in your tea, had you climbed trees as a child. The flood of curiosity puzzled him. He usually managed to avoid caring about anyone long enough to ask questions about him. Iwaizumi wanted to laugh at how silly this all sounded in his head—he had heard of the impact soulmates have on each other upon meeting, but he hadn’t met you yet.
“Why’d you let her go?”
He couldn’t really answer Oikawa’s question that evening. He wasn’t sure. Some part of him knew you wanted to be left alone after today, but some part of him also wanted to go up to you and tell you that you’re not alone. Some part of him wanted to tell you of the impression you’ve left on him without even having met each other yet. You honestly had no idea of your impact. You were, safe to say, oblivious. That was the power you had over Hajime. Seeing you made him question what he was doing, what he wanted, what he desired, what he could do. Not just in the moment. But what he had been doing that lead him to this point, why he was there, in a crowded subway train, his hands dirty and sore from practice. Hajime’s whole life, he could not remember anyone’s name right away. Nothing had made a formative impact on him. But right then he thought that might change.
If he knew your name, he would most definitely remember it. That’s what you did, even before he met you—you had changed things. There you were, preoccupied, bent down, oblivious, clutching your bag to your chest, feeling low after a terrible day. He knew you were the one. He was meant for you. He saw you, and right then, his life began.
*
It wasn’t until you reached home did you feel it.
A weird warmth despite how drenched you were. It was as if someone had wrapped a blanket over you. You paused before entering the shower to find how you weren’t catching a cold, how your hair was frictionless, how the apparent wetness all over you almost never happened.
Strange, you thought as you stared at your palms. They aren’t stinging.
There was no possible way your soulmate knew you were drenched. No one had seen you exit your school, no one who knew you even saw you after that, so there was no way your soulmate knew what had happened. Maybe they were feeling cold? There was no possible way you could answer this. You left it aside thinking it was merely just coincidence, and focused on the bath.
However, that wasn’t the last time. You noticed in the next couple of days that this person, whoever they were, was taking care of themselves a little harder than usual. Skin was perfectly moisturised, the practice sessions continued, but they would take more breaks than usual, and strangely, Mondays were a day off.
Strangely, the bucket incident happened to you on a Monday too.
It couldn’t all be coincidences, right? You wanted to believe it wasn’t. You wanted to believe this person wanted to take care of you, just as you had been taking care of them silently. You gulped when you moisturised your fingers, pausing in between, blushing at random points, just thinking of this person who you haven’t met yet. You wanted to hope, you wanted to ensure that there was nothing wrong in wanting someone because all your life you’ve not had it. You’ve not had someone ask how your day went, you’ve not had someone notice when you wanted to be left alone. You wanted to believe it wasn’t a coincidence because what harm can come from it being one? You haven’t met them yet, and you have time to prepare yourself for the truth till then.
“(y/n)-chan!” Your friend pounced on you as you approached her that morning.
Apparently your school girls’ volleyball team was playing against the girls’ team from Seijoh, and you knew your friend was excited. You’d agreed to go along with her to watch the game, secretly knowing everything there is to know about volleyball because of a certain someone.
“You look pumped up.” You commented on your friend’s hyperactive nature.
“Seijoh’s a strong team. Apparently, the boys’ team is going to watch too! Have you even looked at Oikawa-san? He’s so dreamy~”
You rolled your eyes.
“What about your soulmate?”
“I don’t know who it is yet, so everyone’s eye candy.”
Your friend was very entertaining indeed.
Seijoh’s volleyball court was huge, and you could see the girls practice from a distance. You had to go stand at the bleachers, waving at your friend as you headed up there alone. You blinked when you noticed a few boys to the other side, wondering if they were the boys team that your friend had mentioned. Suddenly, you thought of your soulmate—who normally would be practicing at this time, but strangely, they weren’t. Your hand wasn’t stinging, and you wondered what they were doing at the time.
When the game began, you felt someone watching you. You turned to the boys’ to your side and noticed that they were all intently watching the game, but there was a rather attractive brown haired individual who kept stealing glances from you. You cocked your eyebrow, wondering if something was on your face, but paid no heed to it.
Suddenly, the ball went up in the air—causing your eyes to widen; the ball was coming closer to where you stood, so you went ahead and grabbed the ball—the impact slightly stinging your palm.
“(y/n)-chan! Nice catch!”
You chuckled before throwing it back to your friend, suddenly feeling eyes on you once again. This time you turned with a curious gaze and found that same brown haired male staring at you with admiration.
“Is... Is something the matter?”
“Iwa-chan! She’s talking to me—”
“Shut up, Trashykawa!”
You blinked at the other individual, whose face seemed aggressive. His eyes met yours, only for a moment, before he turned away and cleared his throat, and this ‘Trashykawa’ giggled like a little girl while standing beside him. You turned to look at the game once more.
Suddenly, your eyes widened when you felt a slight pressure against the palm of your right hand. The palm that grabbed the ball a second ago. Your heart began to beat quickly, and you stared at your palm—almost as if someone was applying pressure to the area to soothe the growing numbness.
No way.
You turned to your left and he was suddenly not there. Trashykawa was, and he eagerly pointed to the exit. You offered him a kind smile before hesitantly following after the brash looking individual, who had been secretly taking care of you so well the past few days.
When you exited the gym and took the stairs down, you noticed this person walking ahead at a rather quick pace.
“Excuse me!” you said, still holding your palm.
The person sighed before stopping at his tracks. He turned around and looked at you, and his heart caught in his throat again. This was certainly not how he was expecting to see you, not to mention how surprised he was to even see you at his school. You went over to him and stood there for a second longer, just a few steps away from him. You wanted to make sure first.
You pinched your hand as hard as you could and saw him wince before snapping, “What the hell was that for?”
“So it is you...”
His eyes widened before he cleared his throat. He didn’t know what to say.
“How... You took care of me all this while.” You said, tears filling your eyes.
“You started it.”
“How did you know?”
Iwaizumi knew exactly what you were talking about. He looked into your eyes carefully, not spotting a single bit of sorrow in them now that they were facing you.
“I saw you in the train. Drenched from top to bottom. It... It was hard to see. I knew you were... I knew it was a difficult day for you.”
“Why didn’t you approach me?”
“I thought you needed space.” He said, shrugging.
Your eyes widened a tad bit. It was true. You did need space. You weren’t sure how you would have responded that day, but he had been slowly taking care of you ever since.
“Thank you...”
Iwaizumi didn’t know what to say. He looked at you, smiling at him, and his heart couldn’t take it. You couldn’t keep from staring at him—so exotic was this creature before you, with chocolate brown eyes and a face you look lick candy off of. It was as if a door had opened and you had walked through it. Everything behind you had fallen into a deep abyss and you could never retrace your steps to that boy, the one with unruly hair and bruised palms. What solitude you had lived in. Your world expanded with this boy, here in Seijoh, and it was all very new looking. Then, realizing your intense staring, you were flooded with a newfound embarrassment and your eyes widened, your heart beating in big thumps.
“My name is Iwaizumi Hajime,” He said, noticing your embarrassment. “And you?”
“(l/n) (y/n).” Your voice was meek and you wanted to slap yourself.
Hajime smiled at you before taking a deep breath.
“If I touch you, there’s no backing out.”
You gulped. You nodded a second later. Your heart was going to jump out of your chest. You expected him to shake your hand or ruffle your hair. You least expected what came next.
Hajime wrapped one hand around your waist and pressed you to his chest, smelling your hair in the process. He wasn’t sure if you would mind, he wasn’t sure if you would push him away, but something in his heart told him that you needed a hug.
“I’m sorry if I overstep—”
You stopped his apology midway when you wrapped your hands around his waist.
“Thank you, Iwaizumi-san.”
It was strange; you felt like you knew him really well despite this being the first time you met him. You two had been taking care of each other so well for the past few months that there was no strangeness here.
“I thought it was all a coincidence. That... that you had no—”
“It wasn’t. I was doing it for you.”
Your breath hitched in your throat. Your grip on Hajime tightened. This man was your soulmate. Nothing else mattered.
When Hajime pulled away, he gave you a sweet smile, a smile only meant for you. You returned the smile, not noticing your hand in his, the numbness spread across both your palms.
“Next time anyone pours a bucket of water over your head—”
“I won’t sit around and take it, I promise.” You finished his sentence, almost knowing what he had to say.
Hajime nodded, pressing his forehead to yours.
“Or I’ll personally have to infiltrate your school. And I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“You can’t miss practice.”
He chuckled at your comment.
“Yeah, I can’t miss practice.”
Slowly, you were going to know everything there was to know about Iwaizumi Hajime. And he was going to know everything about you. But, for a start, this wasn’t so bad.

*Not Just friends* part 1???
~Manger Fem reader x Oikawa
~summary: You are the manager of the Aobajohsai High volleyball team. really close friends with Oikawa, so you know he has a lot of girls going after him. He rarely dates them however when he gets a new girlfriend she does not sit well with you. Will oikawa pick her or you??
~ warnings: uhhh idk but hes kind of mean at some point, bad words, bullying?
~ A/N: i suck at writing and im trying to get better so yes. Hahaha so enjoy this trashy story lol.
Being friends with Oikawa Toru is one of the most difficult things that anyone could ever imagine. However you manage just fine, well not really because he was cute but not the point. All these girls keep trying to fight you since you are one of his closest friends. However it has never bothered you and even if it did Oikawa made sure that they knew where they stand, which just made your heart race really fast. Which is why the amount of bullying from the girls settled down.
One day you were on your way to volleyball practice when you bumped into Iwaizumi. “Hello Y/N, im so sorry are you okay”. You looked up at him with a smile and just shook your head. “Its okay Iwa, are you on your way to practice? lets walk together”. he just smiled at you and then started walking towards the gym.
On your way there you guys were just talking about a new movie that had just come out. When you guys started to get closer to the gym you heard two people talking and one of the voices sounded really familiar. You grab your friend and pull him to the wall. “whats wrong Y/N?” you look at him and put a finger over his mouth. You then point outside where he notices Oikawa talking to a female student. Both of you look at eachother, nod, and start to listen to the conversation.
“Oikawa...I... I really like you. P-Please accept my feelings” said the girl.
Your turn to look at Iwazumi suprised. You looked at him and you realize he notices the same thing as you.
...Oikawa was blushing.
At this moment you kind of felt a bit jealous. You have never seen Oikawa blush this much. And for a girl? never. Only for volleyball but I think everyone has seen that.
Then Oikawa gave his answer. “I accept them” and he smiles “I like you too.” He then tilts his head to give her a kiss. you rapidly turn around and hug Iwaizumi trying to hide the tears in your face. You have had a crush on your bestfriend for so long but he never noticed you so you just kept being his friend. Iwaizumi being the amazing friend he is already knew that you had a crush on Oikawa so he just hugged you back rubbing circles on your back. “It is going to be okay Y/N” he assured you. However, you were not so sure.
Once you calmed down you and Iwa walked to the gym together. You felt bad since you caused iwa to be late to practice. “Dont worry about it, your emotional state is important to me too” he smiles at you and leaves to go get changed. You then enter the gym and notice Oikawa is running towards you
“Y/N, I have newsssssss!!!”. You take a deep breath and put on a smile. You can not let your feelings get in the way of being happy for your best friend. “Yes Toru?” (since you guys became best friends he insisted on you calling him by his first name, and since then you have never called him by his last name) he had one of the biggest smiles. you tried so hard not let tears fall.
“I have a....girlfriend!!!!”
You stopped smiling but he didnt notice. You smiled once again “Thats awesome Toru”. He grabbed your arm and tried to pull you in for a hug, however you stopped him. “If you have a girlfriend you probably should not be hugging other girls” you teased. He gave you a confused look “but you are my best friend, you dont like me like that so its okay, besides she knows we are close friends” you look up at him and laugh nervously “haha right” you give him a hug and tell him to go back to practice. What you both didnt know is that his girlfriend was standing outside looking through a window.
she really did not like you.
but we dont like her either so bleh
After about a month of them dating Oikawa has been hanging out with you less and less. It was only natural right? he got a girlfriend and he is spending most of his time with her. However it was NOT natural. He basically only talked to you like once every two days. Not even at volleyball practice.
pathetic.
After a volleyball practice, you notice Oikawa starting to walk up to you. You look at him but then turn away to start cleaning up since it was time to go home. “hey Y/N...” you just nodded your head but did not say anything. he frowned “...im really sorry”. you knew why he was apologizing so thats when you looked up. There he was looking really upset. how could you not accept that apology. “ohh~ is the great Toru really apologizing... to me?!~” you tease. He then looked at you with wide eyes, immediately replaced with teasing ones. “you know what i take my apology back~” you start to laugh. he then tries to reach for your hand to pull you into a hug but once you see this you pull your hand away. “we should finish cleaning” you smile awkwardly then start walking away towards Iwaizumi. the entire team saw you guys, they knew something was not right but they decided not to say anything. “Are you okay Y/N?” Iwaizumi asked. you smile at him “of course”. Oikawa saw this interaction, he was not jealous of course he was hehe but he didnt know why he felt so uneasy.
Once you were done cleaning you were the last one there because the coach had to talk to you about the next practice game that was going to be in a week. When you started to lock the gym you heard footsteps behind you. you turn around and there she was. that bitch... i mean Oikawas girlfriend.
“hey y/n we have to talk”. you just looked at her ‘why the hell is she here at this time of night’ however you just nodded your head signaling for her to start talking. “look y/n, im going to get straight to the point, i dont like you..” ‘ wow i am sooo suprised’ you thought “...you are annoying and always getting in the way. I love Oikawa so im going to do what is best for him” she stayed silent for a while. but what she said next you were not ready for.
“You need to stop being friends with Oikawa”
Your eyes widen and you swear you stopped breathing. what the actual fuck does this bitch think she is saying. stop being friends with Oikawa? why? why does she hate you so much to do this? of course you were not just going to let her push you around.
“What the fuck did you just say to me”
“you heard me”
“im sorry but i am not going to be doing that. Not unless he asks me himself, but since you swear you know him so well then you know that he wont be doing that so please stop this before you regret it”
and then before you knew it you were on the ground. she fucking punched you. ‘shit she is strong’ “You better do as i say before you lose Oikawa in the way that he wont even look at you” she then started walking away “watch yourself” and all you hear is her footsteps as you are staring at the ground.
You dont know how long you were staring at the floor, until you heard a voice “Y/N!! are you okay??” then they started shaking your shoulders. You looked up and you see Iwa. “I thought you went home” you say. He then gave you a little side smile “and leave you to walk alone? what kind of friend would i be?” He then helped you get up and started to walk you home.
On your way home Iwa asked you if you wanted to talk about it. He explained to you that he had seen the entire thing unfold. How she told you she didnt like you, how she told you to stop talking to Oikawa and how she punched you. You then turn to look at him with tears in your eyes. He looks at you with so much worry, so all he can think to do is hug you. The second his arms wrap around you all the tears you have been holding in just came out. You just kept crying and crying till you physically couldnt anymore.
“it will be okay y/n. trust me”
the next day you went to school like nothing happened.
and the next day as well.
and the next.
It was all forgotten about really, until oikawa asked you the one thing you didnt want to hear.
“Hey y/n! i think its time to introduce you to my girlfriend!” he shouted across the entire court during practice. everyone kind of just froze, especially Iwaizumi. Your glared at Oikawa “no thanks” you were mad. he hasnt talked to you in a while and thats the one thing he says to you? really? he started to jog towards you “come on y/n...you dont even know her. she is a nice person!” he tried reaching out for your arm but you swatted his hand away.
“i said no Oikawa”
His eyes looked hurt. You just called him by his last name. You never did that. Then it was his turn to be angry. “Why not y/n. You are being unfair” and just as you were about to say something Oikawa’s girlfriend opened the gym doors. ‘speak of the devil’ you thought. you turn to look at Oikawa who looked really angry “we will talk about this later y/n” he said as he started to walk towards his girlfriend. You rolled your eyes and scoffed.
“yeah right more like in the next 10 years” the volleyball team snickered except Iwaizumi. He knew what was about to go down so he was ready to interfere if necessary. This was when Oikawa snapped.
“what the fuck if your problem”
you scoffed again. “whats my problem?” you started to laugh. “You really want to know?? Fine. I will tell you. YOU OIKAWA! you are my problem.” then you rolled you eyes “of course your little princess as well” you then turn to his girlfriend and bow down as if she was an actual princess.
“I am your problem?! the fuck did i do?! and dont be rude to my girlfriend. she hasnt done anything to you”
“Thats the problem oikawa! you didnt do anything!! you stopped talking to me and dont even give me five minutes of your time! its like my fucking feelings dont matter to you! oh and by the way your little “princess” has done something to me” you then turn to her and say “you want to tell him sweetheart or should I” all while glaring at her.
She then started to cry telling Oikawa that she would never do anything to you and that you were lying. “y/n stop telling lies. she wouldn't do anything to you” oikawa said.
You looked at him. tears in your eyes. Hoping that he could see that you felt hurt and betrayed. “are you seriously going to believe her over me?! your best friend!?” Oikawa then looks between you and his girlfriend.
“Yes. I am. shes my girlfriend.”
You stood there. You couldn't even cry. so instead you laughed. you couldnt stop. Your laughter just made the rest of the team cringe. they could hear you were hurt. “y/n...?” you hear Iwaizumi say. Then you stopped laughing. looked straight at Oikawa. Then let the tears roll down your face.
“Fine.” you started to gather up your things then put your bag over your shoulder. You started to walk towards the exit. Once you were standing next to oikawa you stopped.
“Goodbye Oikawa”
and with that you left.
years of friendship and memories gone.

Haikyuu Couples Head Canons
Kuroo is very considerate of Kenma’s anxiety when he gets his boyfriend to go to a bigger party. He keeps a pair of noose cancelling headphones in his backpack and he also brings a portable charger. He even makes sure to arrange somewhere open and empty he can bring Kenma with the host.
It’s usually someone like Bokuto, Tendou, Oikawa, or Kuroo himself throwing the party, which is why it’s so easy to arrange something like that.
Tendou used to be a lot harder to get to agree to an empty room until he got himself a Goshiki with mild anxiety that acts up when he’s surrounded by too many people, plus his big socially awkward boyfriend might need quiet every once and a while.
Hence, the “Silent Island” room was born and integrated into all Volleyball parties.
Every team has at least one person who NEEDS quiet and one to two people who WANT it
Once, Maki and Mattsun we’re unaware of the “Silent Island”’s purpose at a party and tried to disturb, for they are VERY chaotic, it wasn’t until Kuroo pushed open the door, one arm wrapped behind him to hold onto Kenma and presumably protect him from other people at the party that they were caught.
“What the hell are you two doing?” Kuroo snapped.
“Uh... partying?” Maki stayed as if it was obvious.
“Go party somewhere else!” Kuroo scolded, he couldn’t shout.
“Why? You tryna get some?” Mattsun gushed, noticing the pudding-cup hair behind Kuroo.
“If you two don’t get out of this room right now I will personally make sure that you run twenty extra laps at practice on Monday.” Iwaizumi appeared suddenly behind Kuroo and Kenma, one reassuring hand rested on Kenma’s shoulder.
“Ah! Yes Iwaizumi!” Maki and Mattsun called in unison as they rushed into the room. Kuroo shot them a glare before quickly ushering Kenma into the room and closing the door behind them.
“What was that about?” Maki asked, clearly annoyed at his loss of a party space.
“That was about you two disrupting the only quiet room there for anyone that needs it, someone like Kenma who looked to be having a bit of a sensory overload.” Iwaizumi growled. Maki and Mattsun’s eyes went wide.
“We didn’t know!” Mattsun called.
“We’re sorry Iwa! And we’ll apologize to Kenma and Kuroo when we see them next!” Maki exclaimed. Iwaizumi rolled his eyes in mock annoyance but patted his teammates on the back.
“Good, now go find someone else to party with,” the two nodded eagerly and were off to find Noya.
Hinata and Kageyama are both the easiest couple to spend time around and the worst couple to spend time around.
Their constant bickering hasn’t changed, but they’re both super clingy and usually when they’re somewhere they feel comfortable, Hinata will be sitting in Kageyama’s lap, nothing dirty or anything, just pure domesticity that makes everyone else feel like they need to go home and bake their boyfriends pie.
Suga and Daichi are actually the most domestic though, it’s honestly disgusting how often they’ll just be smiling at eachother while the group is eating. Tanaka has thrown stuff at them, multiple times.
KUROO CALLS KENMA PUDDING CUP!!! I DONT KNOW WHY IVE NEVER SEEN THIS! LIKE REALLY!!!
Couples like Suga and Daichi, Akaashi and Bokuto, and Nishinoya and Asahi make Kageyama, Iwaizumi, Kenma, and Yaku feel a little insecure about how they treat their boyfriends. Not like they’re abusive, they’re just not always super sweet, they make fun of, prod, and “bully” their boyfriends a lot so sometimes they get scared.
The first time Kenma brought it up with Kuroo, the captain was completely soft for his boyfriend.
“Kuroo...” Kenma muttered, “You know I love you right?” Kuroo looked up from his phone at his boyfriend next to him. They were curled up on the couch, Kenma playing Animal Crossing and Kuroo scrolling through social media. He was concerned, he thought that there may be something bad about to come.
“Of course I do Kitten,” he moved the arm sitting on the couch behind Kenma’s head to wrap around his shoulders, pulling the smaller boy into his chest.
“So you know that I would do anything for you and that I really enjoy spending time with you, and I want to spend as much of my time as possible at your side?” Kuroo started getting worried.
“I know Pudding Cup, I know,” He set down his phone and pulled the switch out of Kenma’s hands, pulling the boy who had still yet to make eye contact with him fully on top of him and laying down on the couch, “Can I ask why?” Kenma took a deep breath and looked up at his boyfriend with obvious tears in his eyes.
“I know that you’re all about all that lovey-dovey stuff, Public Affection and Visible Relationships...” Kenma explained, finally looking Kuroo fully in the eye. Kuroo brought up one of his hands to rest on Kenma’s cheek while the other rubbed his back.
“And I know that I’m not very good at that, and that I tend to poke fun at you, and I just...” Kenma took another deep breath, “I don’t want you to think that I don’t love you, cause I do...” He explained and Kuroo’s face softened immediately.
“Honey, Baby, Kitten, Pudding Cup,” he listed off a bunch of his nicknames for Kenma rubbing his boyfriend’s cheekbone, “I know how you show affection, I’ve known for a long time now, and I don’t mind that you aren’t big on PDA, I know what you’re comfortable with and what you’re not, I know that you don’t mean it when you make fun of me,” Kuroo swipes at the tears threatening to fall from his boyfriend’s eyes.
“Good... I just... I needed you to know...” Kenma wrapped his arms around Kuroo’s middle and buried his face in his chest. Kuroo moves the hand on Kenma’s face up to his hair and started running his fingers through it.
“Pudding Cup,” Kuroo called softly, “What had you thinking like that?” Kenma whined into Kuroo’s chest but he wasn’t taking that for an answer.
“Kenma, why did you think I would feel bad about how you treat me around our friends?” Kenma grumbled but sat up, tracing shapes into the front of Kuroo’s hoodie.
“It’s just... Bokuto and Akaashi are really affectionate, I just... I thought that maybe you wouldn’t be happy with how I treat you around them...” Kuroo sighed, scratching at Kenma’s scalp.
“Kenma, honey, that Bokuto and Akaashi’s relationship, even though those two are super affectionate, I’m not gonna suddenly be unhappy with the boy I’ve been crushing on since I was 10.” Kenma’s face lit up in a blush at Kuroo’s words but he nodded. Kuroo smiled and tilted Kenma’s face I kiss him softly on the lips.
Kageyama started being uncharacteristically affectionate, and while Hinata appreciates it, he also misses their bickering.
“Tobio!” Hinata called after his boyfriend as the other walked ahead of him, their hands entwined between them.
“Yes Shoyo?” He asked softly turning to look ag his boyfriend.
“Why are you acting different?” He asked softly, pulling himself close to Kageyama.
“What do you mean?” Hinata scrunched up his face, did Kageyama really not notice?
“You’re acting... different,” Hinata said, still searching for the words. The boys finally reached Kageyama’s house and the taller one let go of Hinata’s hand in favor of pulling out his keys.
“How so?” He asked, he was even talking differently. Hinata held in a growl as he pushed his boyfriend into his house, slamming the door behind them and grabbing Kageyama by the collar before shoving him up against the door.
“Why are you acting different?” He asked, more sternly this time. Kageyama grunted when he hit the door, immediately grabbing for purchase on Hinata’s waist. He tightened his grip immediately, sending a shiver down Hinata’s spine. It was kinda hot knowing that Kageyama was capabale of throwing him across a room if so desired. And even hotter knowing that he never would.
“What do you mean?” Kageyama retaliated and Hinata groaned, shoving away from his boyfriend, trying to get away, just so he could scream, or run, or do anything, he just wanted his bestfriend back.
“You’re not like you were before!” He shouted, beating on Kageyama’s chest because he couldn’t get away. Tears began to sting at his eyes, “You don’t ever compete with me, or argue with me, or treat me like you used too! I liked it when you would kiss me and it would be one of the best feelings in the world because you never did that! And now you just kiss me everytime we do anything and I don’t hate it I just don’t know why!” Hinata was crying now, breathing heavily into Kageyama’s chest.
He’d given up trying to get away. Kageyama’s hands shifted, instead wrapping around Hinata’s waist and pulling him close when he cried, and it finally felt familiar, like Hinata wasn’t dating someone he’d never met. He pulled his hands tight to his chest to allow Tobio to do all the work.
“Sho...” Kageyama muttered, and Hinata sighed. He loved when Kageyama called him Sho, it sounded so loving and infatuated, because he only called Hinata Sho when they were alone, and he had still kept the name for then in the past week or so of strangeness.
“Tobi...” he retaliated, using the equal opposite to what Kageyama has just said against him.
“Sho I’m sorry...” Kageyama muttered into Hinata’s hair. It was just above and whisper and his arms wrapped around Hinata shoulders instead, crushing him in a strong hug, and pulling Shōyō out of his own head. There was something wrong with Kageyama, and he was the one crying. How pathetic.
“Tobi, why won’t you treat me like I’m your friend anymore?” Hinata asked after pulling away a little. Kageyama’s arms slipped to Hinata’s waist again and he cast a glare at the ground, one that Hinata knew all too well.
“Tobio. Talk to me. I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s wrong,” Hinata said simply, reaching up one hand to place it on Kageyama’s cheek.
“I love you Shoyo...” Kageyama muttered quietly and Hinata’s face lit up.
“I love you too ‘Yama...” Hinata answered, Arr you gonna tell me why you’ve been acting so different?” Kageyama took a deep breath and for the first time that day looked Hinata in the eyes.
His midnight blue eyes always seemed to put Hinata’s chestnut to shame. They were almost black around the iris and around the pupil but they were more indigo in the center, and if you looked close enough there were flecks of a normal light light sky blue, which really made them look like a starry sky.
“Sho... I’m sorry...” Kageyama muttered, he wouldn’t speak up and he sounded terrified and it was breaking Hinata’s heart. He pulled away and grabbed one of Kageyama’s hands away from his waist, leaving one and keeping one hand on Kageyama’s cheek.
“What are you sorry for Yama?” He asks while slowly leading Kageyama to the couch.
“It’s just... you’re always talking about how Nishinoya and Asahi have the cutest relationship, and I thought that maybe you weren’t happy with me... I wanted to love you better...” Hinata’s features all softened at Kageyama’s words. He sat his boyfriend down on the couch and climbed into his lap, wrapping his arms around Kageyama’s neck. He leaned up to press a gentle kiss to Kageyama’s lips.
“Tobi, I love you. I love you just the way you are, and you loved me just fine in the first place. If you really want to be that affectionate that’s fine but... I liked our bickering and I like that even though we’re dating I still get to be your bestfriend.” Hinata explained, hands on Kageyama’s cheeks. The setter let a soft smile spread across his face.
“Okay...” he muttered, and pulled Hinata in for a hug.
Iwa was a lot less obscure about it. He just, walked up to Oikawa one day during practice to verify, and other things...
“Tooru .” He stated numbly as he approached his setter from behind after practice ended.
“Yes Iwa-Chan?” Oikawa turned around to face his boyfriend.
“I love you,” Iwaizumi stayed simply before pulling Oikawa in and kissing him firmly on the lips.
“Oh! I know that Hajime!” He exclaimed and giggled, holding Iwaizumi’s free hand in his.
“Thought I’d remind you.” Iwaizumi muttered, embarrassed that Oikawa called him by his given name.
“Course Hajime, I love you too,” Oikawa pressed a gentle kiss to his lips then pulled away. Iwaizumi pulled his hand away from Oikawa’s neck and rubbed at the back of his in embarrassment. Oikawa stood up and intertwined their fingers as they began to leave school, leaning on his boyfriend slightly.
“So, what’s going on Iwa-Chan?” Iwaizumi tripped slightly at the question.
“What do you mean?” He asked after a moment.
“Why did you feel the need to remind me you love me?” Iwaizumi sighed at Oikawa’s question.
“You were being all swoony about how affectionate the Karasuno captain and his boyfriend are last night... I thought you might feel like I don’t love you.” Oikawa was so excited to gush about how cute his boyfriend is.
“Awww! Iwa-Chan! I love you! I know that you love me! Even when you call me names!” He wrapped his arms around Iwaizumi and hugged him tight to his side. Iwaizumi sighed but smiled fondly at his boyfriend.
Out of all the captains, it’s actually Daichi who uses the most nicknames for his boyfriend.
These include; Honey, Pumpkin, Love, Dear, Darling, Precious, Babe, Baby, Sweetie, Sweetheart, Sugar, Beautiful, Gorgeous, Lover-Of-Mine, Love Bug, Dreamy, Handsome, Loverboy, HoneyBun, Angel, Hon’, Butterfly, and Mama Crow, cause he thinks he’s funny.
Some of the more personal ones are Silver, Boba Tea, and Bubbles, each have a story.
“Silver” comes from Suga’s hair obviously but it also is a reference to the silver promise ring on Suga’a finger.
“Boba Tea” is because that’s what Suga would bring to school every morning their first year, so it was a nickname back then before they were super close.
“Bubbles” is a reference to their first date. They had a picnic in the park and Suga brought a couple bubble wands that they played with. It was cute.
Unsurprisingly these names are mostly saved for the privacy of their homes, but Mama Crow, Sugar, Love Bug, and Honey Bun are his favorite ones to use around their friends. Though he actually uses the more normal ones like Babe, Baby, Love, Dear, Darling, Honey, Beautiful, Gorgeous, and Handsome more on auto pilot.
Suga is definitely the more proud boyfriend, not like Daichi isn’t proud and wouldn’t just parade his boyfriend around, but he’s easily embarrassed.
Once when Daichi scored a winning point against Fukurodani, Suga actually shouted at the top of his lungs, “That’s my man!!!” Which made Daichi blush profusely and made the loss a little more bearable for Bokuto.
Unsurprisingly, Suga is the mom of the group and keeps snacks in her bag for her hungry munchkins, so he also often finds himself pulling out granola bars for Kenma and Ushiwaka who forget to eat a lot.
Daichi goes out of his way to open all doors for Suga, to be a “gentleman”.
Suga finds it incredibly endearing, but he also likes to beat him out the door and watch Daichi pout.
Akaashi keeps snacks in his bag too, but he won’t share them, they’re specifically for Bokuto, as they’re all his favorite snacks.
Yaku does not keep snacks, but he has a surplus of Gatorade flavors in a duffle bag that he carries everywhere.
The number one think Suga and Akaashi bond over is how attractive thighs and arms are.
“Daichi’s biceps are like the size of my head.”
“Bokuto could crush me between his thighs.”
“Oh my god! Daichi also has AMAZING thighs!”
“Bokuto has amazing arms!”
Daichi is very shy about it while Hokuto stands proudly to accept the love from his boyfriend. Hinata also have very detailed conversations about their own boyfriend’s arms.
And Oikawa also loves Iwaizumi’s arms. And his thighs. Kenma could talk for hours with him about how attractive their boyfriends are and he doesn’t even really like Oikawa.
Aka, Everyone in Haikyuu love arms and thighs and that works out well as Athletes.
Yachi once insisted while taking pictures that she got one of everyone carrying a significant other bridal style.
Everyone and no one at the same time were extremely surprised when Akaashi picked up Bokuto. Of course they got one of Bokuto carrying Akaashi as well but nonetheless.
Yachi was also very excited to line them all up like ducklings, shorter boyfriends in front and taller in back, Yaku was not impressed when she had the taller rest their arms on their smaller boyfriend’s heads.
Yachi is a PHOTOGRAPHER.
After graduation, Bokuto and Kuroo moved in together. It became the hangout place for every group.
Kenma and Akaashi practically live there.
Suga can cook really well but he can’t bake to save his life. Daichi however can make any sweet you throw at him, but don’t even think of expecting him to be able to make spagetti.
Hinata is truly a koala. He’ll latch onto Kageyama’s front or back any chance he gets, it’s kinda annoying when he falls asleep though, Kageyama gets more jumpy because he’s so focused on keeping him from falling, therefore he tends to be very out of it during conversations.
When he gets tired at parties, not anxious, but tired, Kenma will pull Kuroo down onto a couch and curl up in his lap with his head on his shoulder, put on the noise cancelling headphones and go to sleep. It’s literally the cutest thing, and Lev learned not to point it out by now.
You know how everyone always tries to adopt Hinata out of Karasuno? Suga regularly brings Goshiki to Karasuno and they enjoy food and Goshiki and Hinata bond over their Ace-pirations. (Ha, like As-pirations?... Anyway...)
Semi is always a little salty when Goshiki gets back, he is the team mom, he likes his kid, that is his kid, and Sugawara-San and his tiny tangerine should leave him alone. But when Goshiki gets back he’s always so happy and excited to talk to Tendou, Semi, Ushiwaka, and Shirabu if he’ll listen, about Karasuno’s first year.
Goshiki and Hinata would be BEST FRICKIN FRIENDS. FIGHT ME.
Kenma loves to play Mystic Messenger, much to Kuroo’s dismay, and he got Hinata really into it once when Hinata visited, so Kageyama also has a particular resentment toward the game.
Oikawa pretends to hate Kageyama, but he is constantly referring to Kageyama, Kindaichi, and Kunimi as he and Iwaizumi’s “children”.
Suga wants to strangle him. That’s his baby crow, back off.
He acts like this when Kuroo tried to steal Tsukki, when Bokuto tries to steal Hinata, and when Terushima even glances at Yamaguchi. The guy gives him bad vibes.
Takeda actually managed to make Ukai stop smoking, which made Suga super proud. He was like a proud child, like his own father had finally stopped smoking.
Kenma instinctively hides behind Kuroo in situations where he doesn’t feel comfortable. This also applies to Hinata, Suga, and Yachi.
Hinata is actually a very sleepy person outside of volleyball and will fall asleep literally anywhere, not only on Kageyama’s back but also at restaurants, on trains, and while hanging out with their friends, he usually doesn’t last very long as parties, unless he’s constantly in conversation, otherwise he can’t recharge.
Lev subconsciously steps in front of Yaku sometimes when he gets angry, not because he’s protecting his Senpai, but because he doesn’t Yaku to see him with what his mother used to call, an “ugly” expression. She would ways tell Lev and Alisa that looking anything less than happy was ugly, so he stands ahead of people so they can’t see him.

BNHA self insert AU [Book 4]
Foo... here's book 1, 2 and 3. CATCH UP!
Chapter 2: I Thought You Were Bae!
As summer break approaches, the twins gear up for their respected challenges. But of course, this is the middle school years...there's the added bullying to top of trying to do anything.
"Hey Iida-chan" jested a boy from Hanaka's homeroom "why do you put on makeup, you're still ugly."
"Leave her alone you jerk!" Petti snarled at the bully.
"I'm not talking to you feather brain" the bully pushes Petti aside to corner Hanaka up to a tree "Iida-chan, why even try to look pretty? Your face is all round and darker skinned. And you have fat calves."
"Please leave me alone" Hanaka warned "I wasn't bothering you."
"Your ugly face was bothering me" the bully tried to grab her arm but the surface of Hanaka's skin was scorching to the touch "YEOWCH! With a temper and quirk like that, who could ever love you?! You'd burn anyone that tried to get close to you! I bet your parents never hugged you, thats why you're like that."
That tipped Hanaka over the edge and she combusted into flames. It was too much for her to control, so everything caught fire. On one side, it made summer break come earlier. But on the other, it pushed bunch of things back like the mock trials to middle of summer break. Luckily nobody was hurt, but Hanaka's self esteem went down the drain. Their parent's said it was best if the twins were separated until Hanaka sees a doctor. Tensei was more than willing to be away from home and his cases for a while. The Ashido's housed him for the time being.
"Okay boys I'm going on my work trip" announced Ashido-kun's mom, Mina "I'll be back tomorrow evening, your father is coming in an hour. No funny business! And I want that room spotless Masaru."
"Yes mother" groaned Ashido-kun "We'll behave!"
"I know Tensei will, I was talking to you" His mother said sternly "Okay, I'm off! Bye Bye!"
"Bye Mrs Ashido!" Tensei waved.
Masaru waited until the front door closed "Okay she's gone, what do you want to do?!"
"Want help to clean your room?" Tensei suggested.
"What, no! Something fun!" Masaru paused to think "Wanna....sneak out to Huei-kun's?"
"I don't want to get in trouble with your mom" Tensei scowled in reply "Plus your dad is coming home in an hour! He's gonna know we're gone."
Masaru groaned "Come on Tensei, loosen up a little! It's summer break, extendo version" he scrolls on his phone "I'm gonna shoot a text to the boys and see what kind of adventure we'll get into."
Tensei leaned on the wall he was sitting by "Fine! I'll play along but don't expect much from me."
Masaru's phone chirped "Huei says that he has a cousin that recently opened up a shop nearby and we should go check it out."
"A shop? I guess we could pop in and see" Tensei crawls over to his duffle bag "Let me change my shirt real quick, I don't want to get clowned for wearing a button up and glasses."
"See? You're loosening up!" Masaru encouraged as he stood up "I'll just write a note for my dad and we'll be set!"
The boys met up at the shop after a short walk.
"Wait, this is a tattoo parlor!" Tensei freaked out "You said shop Huei!"
"Yeah, same shit" Huei shrugged as he walked toward the front door "Relax Tensei, my cousin isn't going to do any work on us. He just needs a few bodies to fill the space to attract clients."
Masaru and Tetsu walk in casually while Tensei follows after very stiff. The inside was very 90's style grungy and aesthetically pleasing to the boys.
"Yo! It's my lil cuz Beni!" greeted the shop keeper "Are these your little band members?"
"Hello Maito, yes these are my band members" Huei peered over to the opened boxes behind the glass counters "You're still unpacking things?"
"Nah I just got my order of piercings but it looks like I have to return them" he pointed to one of the boxes "They're fine except I got a bunch of curved ball piercings when I ordered the straight barbells." He sighed "It's gonna suck because half of my services are piercings and I won't have all my materials. But what can I do?"
"May I see the curved ball piercing?" Tensei asked politely.
"Um sure dude” the shop keep handed Tensei the metal piercing.
Tensei looked it over carefully “And may I see what a straight barbell looks like?” The shop keeper gave him the one he had on display “Oh these are the same gauge, it’s an easy fix.”
Tensei used his quirk to straighten out the curved piercing. Leaving the shop keeper speechless and the boys wide eyed.
“Wow! You have metal powers” gasped as the shop keeper picked up the fixed piercing from Tensei’s hand “Absolutely flawless! Can you do that to all these? I promise to make it worth your time.”
“Um sure” Tensei stretched his arms “I have time to kill. I won’t take too long.”
“Yay Tensei to the rescue!” cheered Masaru “Your loosening up bro!”
It literally took Tensei 20 minutes to straighten out the piercings for the shop keep to sanitize before putting them on display. All the while the shop got some traction.
“Thank you so much lil dude” bowed the shop keep “As thanks, how would you like a piercing, on the house.”
“A piercing?” Tensei pondered “Don’t I need parental permission to-”
“Just get the damn piercing you nerd!” Huei huffed “Seriously Tensei, loosen up and do it! When will you ever get the chance to do something like this again?”
“Yeah! Do it Tensei!” egged on Tetsu “I think it’ll look so cool on you.”
Tensei looked at his friends “Oh okay! I’ll get one.”
“Cool, just sit over here and I’ll get my tools” gestured the shop keep as he put on some gloves “So where do you want the piercing? I’d say you have the eyebrows for a super sick eyebrow spike.”
Tensei thought about it for a moment “On the bellybutton, that’s a thing right?”
The boys gasped.
“Why there?” asked Masaru.
“Why not? I figured that if I want to hide it from my parents, I should get it somewhere I could easily do so” Tensei explained as he got prepped for the piercing “Plus I can’t go to my mock trials with a visible piercing, I wanna be professional until the shirt comes off.”
“Excellent choice my dude” said the shop keep as he clamped the area for the needle “I need you to take deep breaths and relax, this might hurt a bit.”
Tensei looked away and did his breaths. But it was over in a matter of seconds and there was his first piercing.
“Oh wow that wasn’t bad at all!” Tensei said getting up to look in the full length mirror “Wow....who am I?”
Tensei was slowly spiraling into a crisis. He didn’t regret the piercing! It just changed his perception of himself. In fact, he feels more himself with this on and it was making him question a lot of things. So when it came time to go home, he sped to tell his twin what he did.
“Rosa! Okay, okay, okay” he said quickly before calming down a little “I did…a thing…wait- Iwa? When did you get home?”
“I got here late morning but whats the haps lil bro?” the older brother asked “You look like you landed in a trash heap.”
“I can neither confirm nor deny that happened” he said closing the door behind him and locking it “But back to the thing I did. PLEASE don’t tell mom and dad! Because I’m still very fresh from the thing I did and I’m still processing it.”
“Okay just spill it” Hanaka was getting annoyed “You keep saying thing like you don’t know other words! What thing did you do on your sleep over with the boys?”
“This” he lifted his shirt up to his chest, revealing a belly button piercing.
Tensei watched as his brother and twin’s eyes bulge out in shock. They never expected goody goody Tensei to do something like this.
“What the- where in Japan did you go to get pierced?” Hanaka asked genuinely “Those jewelry places don’t let you get one without adult permission if you’re under 16.”
“Don’t get mad, but one of my band members has a cousin that’s a tattoo artist and does piercings at the place they work at” Tensei started to get red faced “Sooo I showed him that I could fix his little barbel piercings for free when the boys and I walked into his shop for fun… And he gave me this as payment.”
“Tensei! You got this i l l e g a l l y?!” Iwata harshly whispered “Why did you agree to it?”
“Yeah! It’s not like you to do those things” Hanaka scowled in concern “What’s gotten into you lately? Ever since you came back from Nationals, you’ve been acting different.”
Tensei pulled down his shirt and sighed “I’m sick of being praised of being as good and law abiding like dad. I’m nothing like him inside! I’m not some capri-wearing rectangle!” he huffed “I’m way cooler, smarter and talented then people give me credit for. I don’t need the signature quirk to make my way in this world! And I wanna change my image so people take me seriously…no more orderly Tensei, I wanna be anarchist Oro!”
Hanaka narrowed her eyes, like she was shooting needles into her twin’s soul “Is this because you lost and can’t accept the L?”
Tensei turned red and scrunched his nose “No! I’ve already grieved over that and took and L” he crossed his arms “Nationals was just a tiny part of the whole reason.”
“What?” Iwa was lost in this timeline of events.
Hanaka leaned over to Iwa and whispered “Tensei cost his team majorly on all his debates. So bad that the team barred him from going to more debates this season and has to prove himself all over again to get back in the top 3 teams at school.”
“Oof that’s some sad boi shit” Iwata winced at the recap “It’s okay to still not be over that L, you don’t have to spiral like this.”
“Well it’s too late, I got the damn piercing already and planned the next one” Tensei took a deep breath “I’ve been wanting this for a while, to just rebrand and have respect as my own identity. Not some clone of my father or just be the ‘other’ Iida twin. But until I take the next few steps, please don’t tell our parents about this. I want to tell them myself when the time comes.”
“Okay sure” his twin and older brother agreed.
Tensei turned to open the door “Thanks guys, it means a lot to me that you support me.”
Crisis averted...for now.
-Mock trial day-
Tensei took time to get dressed up in his nice suit and fixed his hair. But he couldn’t help but to look at himself in the mirror and not like what he saw. All he saw was a spitting image of his father and every male in that side of the family that had a portrait in the lineage hall. Same eyebrows, eyes, hair type and jawline...only difference was that belly piercing. As he put on his glasses and let out a sigh, Hanaka was having her little tantrum downstairs. That was his cue to head out. His twin was upset that she had to go with him to his mock trials, only because she’d be home alone otherwise.
Halfway through the trials, Hanaka tugged on Tensei’s sleeve.
“I’m bored! I’m going to walk outside” huffed Hanaka “That’s how bored I am!”
“Fine, this next one is my last trial” Tensei glanced at his watch “Don’t wander off! Mom is going to pick us up at exactly 4 and she expects us to be together.”
“Okay DAD!” spat his twin as she turned to leave the multi-purpose room.
Tensei groaned and turned to his debate partner “I envy you so much Tanaka-kun. You don’t have siblings to deal with.”
“I don’t know Iida-kun, I wish I had a twin” Tanaka smiled “It’s like having a built in friend. Hanaka-chan and you must of gotten along at some point.”
“Not since we were babies” Tensei recalled.
While the next trial was going on in the building, Hanaka was biding the time by finding white clovers in the grass area.
“Is that you Hanaka-chan?”
Hanaka looked around to find the voice that called out to her “Oh, Huei-kun! What are you doing here?”
“I was inside doing volunteer work for the trials” he responded “I’m done now and I was going to head home but it looks like you might want some company.”
“Ummm sure, I was pretty bored in there” Hanaka sat under a tree and held out her harvest of white clovers “Help me make a flower chain!”
Tensei had full view of the two from his spot of the trials. Keeping a watchful eye when he wasn’t speaking or doing cross-examinations. Hanaka was having seemingly normal conversation with her twin’s friend. Both of them have known Huei since elementary school, so he’s to be trusted.
“Hanaka-chan I think that bully was wrong” said Huei “I don’t think you’re ugly or unloveable.”
“My older brother gave me a whole pep talk about it” Hanaka sneered as she did the last knot on the flower chain “I don’t care what that bully has to say anymore.”
“No like, I think you’re pretty”
Hanaka stopped what she was doing. Something about the way Huei said that didn’t settle well in her.
“Huh? What are you saying?” she looked up at his face, showing her discomfort.
“Aw don’t hurt my feelings like that Hanaka-chan” Huei responded in a flirty but creepy way “I’ve always liked you.”
Hanaka stood up quickly “Stop, you’re being creepy.”
The boy loomed over Hanaka “But I love you Hanaka-chan.” He grabbed her by the arm “I know you want to fall in love with me too.”
“No I don’t! I don’t like anybody” Hanaka tried to loosen his grip “Let go of me you weirdo!”
Tensei caught the moment Huei grabbed Hanaka. Knowing his twin’s faces, he could tell Hanaka was in trouble and wanted out. Hanaka was in her own dilemma, she doesn’t want to use her fire and cause another accident. Nor hit her twin’s friend knowing that Tensei will get mad at her for doing so. Tensei stands up to make a run for the side door to save his sister.
“Iida sit back down, we’re in a middle of a closing statement.”
Tensei tried to explain “But coach, theres-”
“Sit back down or you’re out of the team” the coach threatened “I don’t care if your sister caused another fire, that’s her problem.”
Appalled but collected, Tensei sits down calmly to give his closing statement.
“Here’s my closing statement” Tensei clears his throat, then does an arm chop “My opponent is using their phone to look up additional sources under the table. This judge is clearly biased and only chooses the affirmative side in every case” He points to his coach “And you coach, I know you’re cheating on your wife with the school nurse!”
The audience gasped at Tensei’s outburst. No more Mr nice Tensei, Anarchist Oro is here to make his debut. As he got up to leave he turned around one last time.
“Oh and one more thing” Tensei flashes both of his middle fingers to everyone in the room “This school administration is garbage and can suck my ASS!” He gave a forehead salute “Tensei OUT!” and teleported outside.
Hanaka was basically pinned to the tree at this point.
“I said knock it off!” struggled Hanaka.
Huei grabs her chin “Come on don’t be a tease!” he growled “Give me a kiss Hanaka-chan.”
Tensei ran at full speed and tackled Huei off his twin.
“Tensei!?” Hanaka gasped at his display of heroism.
“What the hell man?!” Huei yelled as he picked himself off the ground “Can’t you see I was having a moment?!”
Tensei wasn’t holding back “I trusted you Beni-kun! After all these years of friendship, starting a band together and letting you in our home. This is how you repay us?!” he stood between his twin and Huei “You dare to take advantage of my sister? My twin at that!”
“It’s not like you were going to do anything about it! She didn’t even try to push me off” Huei tried to get closer but Tensei didn’t let him “Oh you’re a tough guy now that you have your little piercing huh? Come on then, hit me!”
Tensei gritted his teeth “You’re out of the band! And I never want to see you near my sister or any of her friends ever again.”
And before Huei had the chance to speak, Tensei sucker punched him so hard that Huei was knocked out cold. The side door slammed open and the sound of his coach yelling for him to get back inside. Instead of obeying, Tensei grabbed his twin by the hand and started running toward the front gates.
“What are you doing?!” Hanaka asked as she was being dragged along, confused by her twin’s actions.
“What does it look like?” Tensei responded, picking up more speed “We’re getting outta here!”
Hanaka looked back and saw the school administrators were catching up quick. She activated her engines and took the lead, dragging Tensei along. She ran for what seemed just minutes and collapsed in a patch of grass.
“Where are we?” Tensei asked, rubbing his eyes.
Hanaka said out of breath “We’re...in the...park.”
“The park?!” Tensei looked around “Hanaka, that’s like 5 miles away from the school!”
“So? We were running away” Hanaka turned her head to face Tensei “We were going to get caught if we went your pace. That was the point right? To not get caught?”
“Yes but-” Tensei groaned and threw himself next to her “Man, I don’t know anymore. Who am I anymore? I’m just a huge fuck up now. Not that my silly little problems matter to you Hanaka, you were born perfect.”
“What are you talking about? You’re the one with the talent and intelligence” Hanaka responded “I’m the huge fuck up, look at the mess I started this time. And you swooped in to save me, I know I messed up if you’re involved in my mess.”
“Nah I saw that you needed my help and I just acted on my instinct” he sighed “I offended that entire room Hanaka, just to save you. Trust me, it was worth it.”
Hanaka looked up at the clear sky “You gave up your one chance to redeem yourself to save me? But what are you going to do now? Debate was your everything.”
Tensei shrugged “Guess I’ll do music now.” He took off his glasses and held them up to the sky “I’m going to change into my truest myself, someone I can face in the mirror and be content with what I see. Who cares about what anyone else has to say, not like they cared before!”
“I care” Hanaka responded meekly “And I support you on your self image journey.”
“Thanks Hanaka”
“Hey, it’s what twins are for!” giggled Hanaka as she reached out to his hand to squeeze it “We’re supposed to support each other.”
They laid on that patch of grass watching the sky turn into it’s late afternoon phase. Tensei’s phone started beeping.
“Oh crap, mom is probably at the school looking for us!” Tensei sat up quickly looking at his phone. “FUCK! Now what?!”
“Okay, what if you teleport us home before mom leaves” Hanaka suggested, wiggling her eyebrows “She doesn’t have to know what happened at school if she never makes it there.”
Tensei glanced at the time “Fine, we have 2 minutes before mom would have to get in the car to pick us up.” He puts his phone back in his suit and t-poses “Assume the position sis.”
Hanaka hugs him tightly “Ready!”
“1, 2, 3- JUMP!” they chant before teleporting onto their uncle Jin’s front lawn.
“Close enough” Tensei shrugs “You can let go of me Hanaka.”
“But I wanna keep hugging” pouted Hanaka, still clinging on to her twin “We haven’t hugged in so long!”
The twins walked up to the front door of their home, pretending like nothing happened.
“Hi mom” Hanaka announced herself to their mother “We’re home!”
“Oh? I was just about to go pick you two up” Their mother said in a normal tone “But I just got off the phone with the school funny enough! You two wouldn’t be accomplices to a string of school offenses would you?”
The twins started to sweat. They forgot that the school could easily call their parents.
“Noooooo” said the twins innocently.
Their mother gave them the look and they tried to run back outside. But alas, their mother used her telekinesis to grab the twins before they could open the door.
“I can’t believe it! Both of you?!” their mother scolded “It would make sense if it was just Hanaka, but you too Tensei?! Telling off the entire room, shouting profanities AND getting into an altercation?!” She faces the little sister “And you assisting his escape by using your quirk?”
“But mom-”
“HUP! No buts!” their mother shut them up “I want you two to kneel facing the front door, so you can tell your father what you did when he comes home.”
“Yes mother” the twins obeyed and kneeled when they got set down.
Their father came home an hour or so later. Shocked by the scene of the twins kneeling and diverting their gaze, clearly guilty of something.
“Both of you did something?!” their father gasped as he took off his shoes “Explain yourselves!”
The twins took turns telling their sides of the story to their parents.
“...then I teleported us home.” Tensei finished “I know I didn’t have to tell off the entire room but they upset me with that comment about Hanaka. They don’t know what’s going on and what gives them the right to say that the team was my priority?!” he bowed his head “I’ll accept capital punishment, Hanaka didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Well, it’s clear to me that you’re the guilty one” their mother spoke up “But that doesn’t mean you’re going to take all the punishment. Hanaka was an accomplice to your crimes, out in the field we call that the ‘get-a-way driver’ clause. She also gets punishment for helping the criminal.”
“I’m sorry but we don’t have a choice but to administer house arrest” their father nodded to his wife “No travel, no visitors, internet use for homework only and limited phone use. Starting now until the end of summer break.”
The twins didn’t show it but they we fuming internally.
“Yes sir” they uttered and bowed their heads.
After a shower and some screaming into their pillow, Tensei laid in bed face up with his hand out. It was sore from that hard punch that knocked out his ex-friend. He’s never used so much force but this wasn’t adrenaline fueled. It felt like he gathered all the energy from his body to focus on his fist? He couldn’t explain it logically.
“Hey, can I come in?” asked his twin from behind the door.
“Sure.”
Hanaka tip toed in and gently closed the door. She then jumped onto her twin’s bed to hug him.
“I don’t think I thanked you for saving me” she looked up to her twin “Thank you, for caring about me enough. It was pretty heroic of you.”
Tensei chuckled “Heroic? I just did what was right. I’m not a hero.”
“But that’s exactly what heroes do!” Hanaka argued “I didn’t know you had the strength to knock someone out! And for once I felt this admiration for you. Yeah you do good things all the time, but that’s textbook good! What you did was out of pocket, immediate justice!”
“Are you...trying to convince me to become a hero?” Tensei gave her a look “Is my twin, using debate tactics to have me in favor of becoming a hero?!” He was in disbelief “Wow, today isn’t real. It can’t be! I’m going to bed.”
“I’m serious Tensei- DON’T FAKE SLEEP ON ME!” Hanaka started slapping her twin’s chest “Dead ass, you’d be a great one. You know laws and stuff, plus you can control your quirks better than me.”
“Only my metal one” Tensei retorted “I don’t really know how to control my teleportation, you saw when we landed in uncle Jin’s front yard. It’s not exact.”
“But imagine if you could?!” Hanaka wiggled her eyebrows.
Tensei briefly imagined it to amuse his twin “Am I really that much of hero material to you?”
“Yes! Plus the girls and I are going to start training too!” she squealed “We’re going to apply to UA.”
“Hol up twin, you forget that we have our parent’s quirks” Tensei put his finger on her forehead “You’re gonna have to ask dad for quirk training.”
Hanaka deflated of all excitement “Awww wack! No queiro!”
“Pues?”
“FINE! I’m gonna ask dad for help” Hanaka pouted “What are you going to do?”
“Ask mom and Iwa for help. Seems like they had success in quirk training with each other, how bad can it be?”
-The next day-
“Hey mom, what can you teach me about my quirks?” asked Tensei bluntly to his mother, who was trying to relax on the couch.
His mother snapped her eyes wide open and turned her head to face her son “Why?”
Tensei felt like this wasn’t the best way to open up the hero school talk but proceeded anyways.
“Just asking because I was such a late bloomer, ya know” Tensei struggled to keep his composure, afraid of her answer.
His mother sat up “Well you have facet of my quirk and your grandfather’s quirk. Which is rare, considering all the factors.”
“Factors?”
“Yeah, you’re a male telekinesis user with a second quirk AND a twin with supporting quirks.”
Tensei was trying unravel all that “Wait, what do you mean by that second part?”
“Hm? The twin part?” she asked, Tensei nodding his head “As a twin, it’s rare to have both children with quirks, usually one or both are quirkless. I thought you didn’t have a quirk since Hanaka came out breathing fire!” she chuckled at the memory “But I noticed that you had the gold skin tone and knew that you had my father’s quirk. I was so happy that you had it, because it meant I didn’t have to separate you and Hanaka.”
“But what does that mean?!”
“Haven’t you noticed that you don’t get burned by Hanaka’s flames?”
Tensei paused to think “Now that you mentioned it, I don’t!”
His mother smiled “That’s because my father’s quirk has two facets to it, manipulating metal and fire resistance. Most users are born with the gold skin tone, before they show signs of the metal bending part.”
“So I’m immune to my sister’s power?” Tensei looked at his arm “And I wasn’t a late bloomer?”
His mother shook her head “Nope, you were also born with your power. And I feel like it couldn’t be more perfect! But of course, your father gets worried and wanted to separate you two” she sighed “He meant well, but I wanted you two to be in the same crib so you could help your sister control her fire as babies.”
“When what about my other quirk?”
“That was a surprise! I didn’t think you’d get teleportation” she responded truthfully “Thought everyone was going to be a turbo baby. But I was happy that it was teleportation and not my mother’s erasure quirk. We were NOT going to have fun with that in the mix, I’ll tell you that!”
Tensei felt a little more confident in himself “Then, can you train me?”
“What is it this time?” she tiredly sighed “Hero? Agent? Vigilante?”
“Ummmm yes?” Tensei panicked that she picked up on his true agenda.
“Mijo you don’t have to hide or feel ashamed about a change of direction” she floated off the couch “I know you wanted to do Hero Law, but who says you can’t be a hero that does law?”
Tensei’s mind was blown “A hero that DOES law! That’s genius! Yeah! I wanna do that!”
“We’ll do training some other time though” She stretched her arms “When you’re not on house arrest.”
“Right, I forgot” Tensei’s new found excitement was crushed by his current reality.
Meanwhile, his twin was having less of a good time.
“OF COURSE I’LL TRAIN YOU! OH HOW I’VE DREAMT OF THIS DAY!” cried their father, holding Hanaka in a tight embrace.
“You’re...crushing me” gasped Hanaka against his chest.
“Sorry! Sorry, I’m just so excited that you decided to pursue hero work” her father gushed “You kids are so unpredictable, I would’ve never guessed you want to get into hero stuff.”
Hanaka diverted her gaze “I’m not doing it because of our family name! I’m trying to make a name for myself” she crossed her arms “It’s not like I have anything else going for me. With quirks like mine, it would be disrespectful not to!”
“Whichever way you’re going, I can help this time” he beamed proudly “Because this time I’m the expert in the quirk.”
“How do you do it?” asked Hanaka, looking at her own engines “I exhausted myself after a short use when I was running away with Tensei. We ended up a few miles away in like, 2 minutes?”
“And is that your best time so far?”
Hanaka nodded.
“From the bruising on your legs, you’re not strong enough to support the kick the engines give” her father presented his engine “You need solid leg support to start any type of quirk training. I started when I was a child by my father and brother, so we have lots to do before those entrance exams!”
Hanaka started to get whiny “Hmph! Wack! Why so much work?!”
Her father put his hand on her head “Yes it’s hard work, but you should know how hard work pays off! And I want you to have all the skills to get to the top of this male dominated job.”
“I do like feminism” Hanaka contemplated briefly “Okay dad, when do we start?”
“Physical stuff after house arrest” he fixed his glasses “We start the study part now.”
Hanaka didn’t have the right to complain, she literally asked for this. To make matters worse, their father kept every single hero book, notes and study guide that he looked at during his school years. So Hanaka had to go through the whole bookcase full of study material to be up to par to someone studying their whole life to be a hero.
The twins take a deep breath and hunker down on their first step into becoming heroes. Both filled new determination and direction, who knows how far they’ll go?!

MASTERLIST
USHI NEEDS ASS

-Ushijima’s assistants do not get paid ENOUGH for the shit they go through. He also has no problem calling Tendou out. Ushijima has been so focused on volleyball and his professional career, that he’s never had an actual girlfriend. He’s a virgin in the sense that he’s never had actual penetrating sex with anyone, but he has fooled around with some people. Two of his closest friends are always his go to when he needs to let out some pent up aggression. Ushijima has had a crush on Y/N since he saw her at a Seijoh game.
-Tendou sells candid pics of Ushijima in varying shades of undress. Ushijima doesn’t care so long as he donates some of the money to charity. Tendou likes to shit on Semi when Ushijima shits on him, and he’s going off of a theory that is actually 100% true about Tsukki. Semi is just trying to find the perfect couple to hunker down with but one of them (usually the man) never wants him like the woman does. Semi thinks it’s wild that Ushijima is saving himself for a woman that doesn’t even know him (Jokes on semi) and he’s a big fan of Aone’s.
-Bokuto and Akaashi had a falling out because Bokuto listened to Kuroo. They haven’t spoken since then and Bokuto has been devastated. Even though he still needs to function properly in regular society, he’s been in love with and is still in love with Akaashi. It’s all a misunderstanding caused by a scheming Kuroo, but Akaashi won’t even give Bokuto the time of day. Y/N doesn’t really HATE Bokuto, she just doesn’t like him. She’ll probably change her mind, when he can finally get through to anyone else that can convince her to help him, but until then he’s going to keep wallowing.
-Y/N and Omi argue all the time about who is going to deal with Aran when he’s in one of his moods. One time, both parties opted not to and left Iwa to do it. Iwa left Aran in a room with Oikawa to sort itself out. Kuroo is trash and that’s the tea. He’s scheming and selfish, and Y/N absolutely detests him. Tsukishima has never liked how Kageyama would flit in and out of Hinata and Yachi’s relationship. He knows he’d treat them right, even if he is a bully. It isn’t shown, but Y/N is V interested in what Tsukki has to offer, so we’ll see how that goes.
-tendou is lowkey jealous about the panty thing, and he can’t let semi live down his inability to pull both man and woman. Ushijima used to be quiet. When he saw Y/N at a seijoh game he didn’t know it was her. His freshmen year in college he watched her do an interview for the Universities Sports League. He recognized her, and someone asked what her type was. She said, bold, strong, and sexy. Ushijima has been clapping back ever since. Everyone else is not surprised that Y/N hates Kuroo, and Ushijima isn’t going to let the sleaze anywhere near her.
