Darlings!
Hallo, it's been, like, half a year, hasn't it? Ah, my life has been insane (it still is) and I'm afraid fandom receded into the background. (Also, I discovered Temu, and it's really fun to fall asleep while gawking at kitchen gadgets and cat-themed t-shirts.) Life has been very chaotic, with my mother-in-law suffering stage 4 cancer (so I'm in a neighboring state, taking care of her, half the time), my abused niece moving in with us (and also her sister, on all counts except technically) and now my sister-in-law and nephews as refugees from the terrible floods and mudslides that have devastated Asheville. And, my older son is visiting from the UK, and the only place for him to sleep is my closet, since there are now nine people living in my house.
Anyhoo. *breathes heavily* I'm actually not really back back. But this is my only social media, and I have some things I needed to share. My SIL's twin started up a GoFundMe for her, because lordy she'll need it to restore her home when she gets back. (And also because my brother is an asshole and a deadbeat who won't even contact his sons right now to see how they're faring mentally, much less contribute anything financially.) And also her son's friend's house was completely washed away, so I'm sharing his GoFundMe, too. I'll post them separately, too, so you can share them without the tale of my woes.
I hate that I'm just bopping by to solicit donations (or sharing). But I really don't see my time load lightening up in the near future. (I don't even have the space to foster kittens anymore!)
But I love my family. Here's me with the nieces, and another with the nephews, son and sister-in-law. No pressure, peeps. Just if you're able, and otherwise, maybe share.
My fam:

[I feel like you should know that I'm 6 feet tall. My son and nephews are ludicrous. With all of us living in the same house, I feel like they should be hobbit-sized.]

Okay, finally getting around to making this. Here's my cast of misfits!
Kiyo Himemitsu de Haillenarte
Tumblr media
The Warrior of Light, albeit rather reluctant about it. Kiyo's life had a rough start after losing both her parents and her hometown in an invasion by a contingent of Garleans. She did manage to escape with the help of her older brother, and the two of them ended up in Tailfeather where the hunters there taught them to survive the harsh wilderness. Well, that is until one very charitable Ishgardian noblewoman found them and took them in as her own, molding Kiyo into the respectable lady she is today. While she doesn't like being branded as the hero, she does enjoy helping the less fortunate, following in her late mother's footsteps as a holy woman and a healer
Panacea (Azem)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyo's Azem (true name Panacea); a warm and very friendly woman that spent most of her days tirelessly working as a Word of Halmarut to study the various flora of the star. Most of her research was in finding various methods to heal and create medicines, though she did dabble in a Concept creation or two. Her most infamous were Morbols, with Panacea wanting to create a sort of cure-all from the secretions of these noxious creatures. That didn't work out too well...
Even still, this didn't stop Halmarut recommending her for the seat of Azem, and with Venat backing her up, Panacea's life became much more interesting as she made her travels and lived a life of adventure
Ryunosuke Himemitsu de Haillenarte
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kiyo's eldest sibling and her only blood relative that she has left. Just like Kiyo, he was witness to the atrocity of the Garlean takeover of his hometown and helpless to stop it, along with everything that came after. This included being forcibly conscripted into their ranks when he was a decent enough age, thus being torn away from his mother and sister for a time. He did manage to escape and return home, only to run with the only one left of his family to somewhere far, FAR away from Othard. Like I stated above with Kiyo, he was adopted into one of the Ishgardian High Houses, though he didn't take to it nearly as well as Kiyo.
While he hates that his baby sister is The Chosen One(tm), he does everything in his power to support and protect her. He also follows in his late father's footsteps of being a samurai and does mercenary side work. This also helps him search for another one the Garleans took from him - his only true love
Lucinne de Haillenarte
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes she's a member of one of the High Houses of Ishgard. Yes, it's the one with the most open-minded Ishgardian nobility you'd ever meet (besides the Fortemps and Aymeric) and Lucinne is honestly no different. A retired temple knight, Lucinne strives to bring change to Ishgard much like her nephews, especially so after losing both her husband and only son in the Dragonsong War
Despite losing her only child, she did still have family in the form of a very sickly Brume girl and two very distraught Au Ra, and she loves them just as much. She also extremely proud of the accomplishments from them and her niece and nephews, and does all that she can to protect and support them
(I wish I could make her look a little more aged)
Shun'u Morimoto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A fiery and passionate young lady, Shun'u hails from Tamamizu and counts herself as one of its denizens. Originally from Hingashi, Shun'u was just an infant when the ship carrying her and her parents met an unfortunate end in a nasty storm. While most of the passengers perished (including Shun'u's parents), the baby was found by a pair of Kojin that saved her from the wreckage. Thanks to them, she was given a second chance at life as well as a new, loving family
When she became of age, Shun'u was gifted a spear that housed her family's guardian kami within it and set out to hone her fighting skills, as well as see what the world had to offer outside of her home's protective little bubble. She ends up signing on with a traveling group of voidsent hunters disguised as an entertainment troupe
Una Fashonti
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't really have much on this lady at the moment but here are some facts
she's been blind since birth
left her tribe for various reasons, the biggest one being just a pursuit of knowledge of the star
a lot of this curiosity is spent towards studying the lost civilization of Allag
has an Allagan node that she repurposed to be an assistant and seeing-eye node
has a strong affinity for black magick
is the one that gifted Kiyo her Allagan speaking device
tsundere-adjacent (grumpy goth girl)
The twins - Olvir and Ukina Iryut
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other characters I haven't really worked on much, so here's some facts for them as well
both left their forest home. Ukina was the one that made the decision and she managed to find her twin brother and convinced him to leave with her
started up a traveling entertainment troupe which became a secret group of voidsent hunters after a few incidents
Ukina is actually Kiyo's teacher in the martial dancing arts
On the flip-side, Olvir is the one that trains and partners up with Kiyo in her reaper AU
Ukina is the friendlier one of the twins. It's not that her brother is mean, he's just not great with social situations (broody goth boy)
the both of them care greatly for each other, as well as the other members of their group

Single Chapter 23
AO3
Michael and Janet continue to do well. Claire rises to check on them and their mam a few hours after fallen asleep. Her healer’s instinct won’t  let her sleep longer.

Jamie remains asleep as does their daughter. She smiles at them as she leaves the room.

Jenny sits, feeding the babies. A beaming Ian sits beside her.

“Claire, thank you for seeing Jenny safely delivered of our children.” He says.

“You’re welcome. They came easy.” She does an exam of Jenny. Her uterus has shrunk down and her bleeding is normal, “You are doing brilliantly.”

Jenny gives her an exhausted smile. “Thank you, Claire. I should have never doubted you have anything but well intentioned towards us.”

Claire shakes her head. “It is normal to react strongly when being told a truth like mine. Don’t worry.”

“I shall get on to finding a husband for Mary as soon as possible.”

“Oh, what about Murtagh.” Ian exclaims causing Claire to jerk.

“Murtagh lives!”

“Aye, he escaped the battlefield ahead of the conquers. You ken they were finishing off any injured? He hid away in a cave not to far from here. Now he works in Inverness as a metal worker.”

“Oh, I would love to see him.”

“I shall ride out today and bring him here,” Ian states, “he will be surprised. Like Fergus, he refused to see Jamie wed to another.”

At her husband ‘s look, Jenny says, “I thought it the right and proper thing.”

“It was. Were I not to return, Jamie needed a good wife. Mary a good husband,” She frowns and tilts her head, “Murtagh would be a good husband, if he agrees.”

“To see Jamie with you and your bairn, he will be so thrilled that he will agree to anything.” Ian kisses his wife and the heads of his nursing infants before heading out. Jenny grins.

“Ian is right. Murtagh is the perfect choice.”

“I agree. It isn’t just to get Mary out of the house. Murtagh needs a wife. Mary is a kind and gentle soul. She is perfect for him.”

“Aye, and he will make a good father for Rabbie.”

“And maybe even have some of his own.”

When she returns to the room, Jamie is up. Bree still lays sleeping. The trip took a lot out of her.

“ Good morning, Mon dhean. How is my sister and niece and nephew?”

“They are all well. Why didn’t you tell me Murtagh lives?”

“There has been a lot happening in a short amount of time. I would have.”

“Ian believes him perfect for Mary.”

He chuckles, shaking his head. “He is right. Murtagh is doing well. A lass to keep house and warm his bed is all he lacks.”

She walks up to him. “Is that all you think a wife is for?” Her eyes narrow but there is humor still in them.

“Nae,” He draws her into his arms, “they also give a man braw children,” they both look at Bree, red hair spread over the pillow, arms sprayed out, “And courage and strength. I wasn’t  afraid of dying, Sassanach, because I knew I lived in in her. Now I fear. I fear something happening to her or you. Something you would have been protected from, in your time.”

“You regret me coming?”

“Never! Not in a million lifetimes.”

“She is safe for the germs of this time. There is a way to insure that and I have. The strange ‘wee knifes’” She nods over to the needles, “they have medicine that will take fevers away. As for the rest, we have you.”

“Aye you do. Always. I shall go meet my niece and nephew.”

“Alright.” He squeezes her close.

“Later, perhaps Fergus can see to Brianna so I can see to you?”

“I believe that can be arranged.” They grin at each other before he slips away to meet Michael and Janet.

Note
Hi this is super random but I was hoping to get some advice one something. Basically a situation happened in my family last week and a bunch of people are upset with me so I’m just worried I may have been over the line?
I’ll try to be as quick as possible but here’s the situation: my step mom (who’s been in my life since I was like two) has always wanted grandkids. She has told that to me and my sister our whole lives. I have never wanted kids, and I have told her this, but she never seemed to care. As we’ve gotten older my answer never changed, but she never gave up asking. My sisters now both have two kids each with the oldest having a third on the way, so the focus has been off of me for a while which was pretty awesome.
The problem is, I recently got married a little under three months ago. One thing me and my wife agreed fully on since we first started dating:no kids. We love our nieces and nephews, but neither of us are particularly maternal. We also work very hard for our money and don’t have a lot to spare. Overall, it’s just nos across the board for us. Since we’re both women, I thought it would deter my step mom from asking about babies. It did not. Since we’ve gotten married I swear she asks me at least twice a week when we plan on giving her another grandchild. Even though I have tried to make it clear, neither myself nor my wife have any interest in having a child. Things blew up last week at a family birthday party.
We were at my sisters and the topic of babies got brought up again. Apparently, my step mom had done research, and wanted to know if we were considering IVF. I told her obviously not because it’s crazy expensive (live in the states not sure about anywhere else lol) and we aren’t having kids. She rolled her eyes and said price wasn’t an excuse because her and my dad would pay for it. (They aren’t exactly rich but definitely make decent money. Enough for them to travel and spoil the grandkids, though us older kids generally prefer to take care of ourselves) at this point, I could see how uncomfortable my wife was, and I kind of lost it. I told her in front of everyone(not the kids they were upstairs playing so it was just the adults talking) she needs to shut the hell up about us having a kid. I told her that she’s been too spoiled by my dads money and his giving nature (he would literally to anything for her I mean he would extinguish the Sun if it was in her eyes. That’s just who he is) and that she needs to learn just because she wants something doesn’t mean she’s going to get it. I told her to be grateful for the grandkids she already has, and that ultimately if she can’t drop the topic, she will no longer be welcome in our home. We left soon after.
Now she won’t speak to me, and several family members are upset. I keep getting texts and calls from people, reprimanding me for how I handled the situation, and telling me how upset she is. (And some also side with me, it’s a mixed bag) I agree I was harsh, but this was a long time coming. It is a boundary she has consistently crossed with zero regard. My wife disagrees with how I went about it, but she’s grateful i put my foot down, because she was incredibly uncomfortable with the discussion. I’ve thought about apologizing to my step mom, but I don’t want her to see that as an opportunity to continue pushing the issue.
Am I in the wrong here? What should I do?
Hey anon. That's a tough situation. Firstly, no, I don't think you're in the wrong as far as setting a firm boundary is concerned. You have every right to do that. I do suspect that perhaps you have not set this boundary firmly enough in the past, which is why it all came out harsher than it needed to be.
Here's my advice. Apologies don't have to be a "Yes, it was all my fault, I'm sorry". You can acknowledge that what you said was hurtful, BUT explain that you felt your stance on the having children subject matter was being ignored/disrespected. Insist that you do not want to keep discussing the question of children because it is settled as far as you and your spouse are concerned. Stick to your guns by saying "I'm not discussing this" if/when it should come up again.
Best of luck! ❤

Sept 25 2024
Meow meow greetings to my followers and friends to yet another blog entry. Today is a rainy wet day. I didn't get a chance to take Kylie outside because when I got up and had my lunch it was raining. However Kylie accidentally got outside on her own. I had to chase after her and lucky she didn't get far. I had in mind to bring her leash with me and the umbrella. I brought her inside and dried her off with a towel. It was storming earlier today but now it quit and is cloudy. Meow this neko boy got the mail in the rain without Kylie our dog because she was in her crate. Meow so my dad is asleep since he works during the night. I am the only one is awake in the house. My mom is next door with my niece and nephews baby sitting them and also home schooling them. My sister is at work. I am with Kylie our dog at the moment in the recliner in the living room. I am listening to my most favorite group BabyMetal on my headphones. I may have listened to the same number of songs over and over again but they are still good. Yes, this time I had Ramen Noodles, two packs of them today. Meow my mom got in a package and my dad got in one too. Meow my neko cat cosplay collar is in Chicago IL at the moment after passing customs and it says that it will get here Saturday. I am thinking about purchasing I think I stated this twice in two entries already a fix it Xbox One. Meow this neko boy is feeling pretty good. I was able to talk to one of my friends for short while until she disappeared from the conversation. We were talking on Facebook Messenger this afternoon around 12 and she stopped replying. So I just went on with my day. Meow my two other items I purchased from Aliexpress my BabyMetal T shirt and another T Shirt haven't gotten into the country yet. Meow you know what's funny or strange is that I put Kylie in her crate and locked it, so when I came back to take her out she was already out. I think my dad must have taken her out of the crate because she wasn't in there when I went to check. She was on my bed when I went to take her out of the crate. Strange huh? Anyway this neko boy is doing alright like I stated before. Well I guess that's pretty much covers it. I will end this entry for now. I think I will certainly post pictures. I noticed I didn't post anything yesterday when I said I would. I guess I might post another entry later or tomorrow. Until later bye.

I hope one day I can come to terms that I won’t be able to experience anything w/those I love n care for. I hope one day I can emotionally and mentally prepare for when me and my family n friends are at an age where we won’t be healthy. It’s getting close. My aunt somehow got a miracle and no longer has cancer and it wasn’t too tough of a fight but it’s just so scary. I see my uncle’s, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Shit even my own dogs and my dad are at a constant state of change and it scares me because I see the age on their face and it makes me think about how many years I have left with them and even 40 years seems like such a small amount of time. I hope before my dad passes away, I can show to him I can take care of myself and him as well. I wasn’t the best daughter these past couple years and I really wanna make up for it; especially because he’s the only parent I have and he may not be the best dad but he’s doing his best with what he knows. I can tell he cares and that he’s trying. Same with my sister, I hope one day I can build up a better relationship with her because she’s the only other person connecting me directly to mom. I’m not a very good person myself now that I look at it but regardless of if I am bad, it doesn’t mean I can’t change. I can feel my ideals and beliefs shaping themselves even more so than ever. I’m confused rn. I’m lost. I’m scared. I’m terrified of the idea that one day there won’t be a world for me to experience. One day it’ll most likely be an eternal slumber and I won’t ever experience anything ever again. And that makes me scared because I am such a loving person that I always want to be with those I love. And then another part of me is a little scared as well at the idea of what if it doesn’t end after we die? What if we experience something terrifying? I know it’s just an irrational thought but I can’t help but let my thoughts run amok. I guess that’s what makes me human but I really cannot fathom the idea that one day, I won’t be able to see Allen or Ryan. I won’t be able to call up krissy or the discord group to play ow. I can’t eat delicious foods. It’s all so sad but yet I also feel relieved at the thought that if death is just an endless slumber, i won’t have to do anything anymore. No more thinking either. I’ll become stardust once more as we all once started in this world. I hope me, my family and my friends remain healthy for the rest of our lives. I don’t want any of us to experience pain.

Masterlist
12 + 1 Days of Christmas Masterlist
Day 9 Present (un) Wrapping
“Sy, we don’t give each other presents anymore,” Brooke admonishes her brother. “We agreed for the kids only. I didn't get you guys anythin'."
Caroline just grins, wriggling in her chair like a child. “Speak for yourself. This is the first present he’s bought me in years.”
“It’s not really just a present, it’s… well…” you look at Sy as you search for the right word.
“An announcement.” He grins wrapping his arms around you.
Sy looks so happy, relaxed, and proud being home for Christmas with his sisters, their husbands and his nieces and nephews. Your three kids were also having the time of their lives, finally around their cousins at Christmas. You visit Sy’s family every couple of years, but this is the first Christmas you had spent with them since you had moved to Australia before Tilly was born.
“You’re movin' back here?” Caroline asks excitedly. You know she doesn’t mean anything by it, but her question still makes familiar feelings of guilt rear its ugly head.
You sometimes feel like you stole Sy, ripped him away from his family and friends. He always assures you that he had removed himself years before he met you, spending many months, if not years away from them, either deployed or living on base states away. However, when you see him so happy, you sometimes wonder if you should have been the one to move.
“Guess again, Carol,” Sy says, grinning, taking a sip from his beer.
“Why don’t you just open them and see?” you add.
Caroline rips hers open with youthful glee, while Brooke is more sedate, carefully peeling back the tape. They pull their t-shirts out of the paper at the same time, and lay them on the table in front of them. You grin as you read the writing on them, “Aunty to Tilly, Pippa, Mitch and Hobbit.”
Brooke gets it immediately and squeals, jumping up from her chair and giving you a big hug.
Caroline takes a few moments looking a lot like her brother, her brows draw together, “I don’t get it. Didja get a dog or somethin’?”
Sy groans and says, “It’s a good thing you’re pretty, Carol.”
You give Sy’s shoulder a playful slap. “Stop it,” you say laughing. “I’m preggas.” Caroline frowns and you realise what you said. “I mean I’m having another baby.” She screams and joins Brooke giving you and Sy hugs.
Brooke, ever the sensible one says, “I thought you weren’t havin' anymore.” She checks there are no kids around and lowers her voice anyway. “I thought you had a vasectomy.”
“He did,” you say. “Probably about a week after Hobbit was conceived.”
“Yup,” Sy says grinning. “We made an ‘Oops.’”
“Sy’s real devo about it too as you can see.”
Sy give you one of his terrible winks. "I had to get my one more before I started shootin' blanks. You got what you want, I got what I want. That's a win/win, in my book."

Tease \\ Smut
Tumblr media
Wordcount: 584
Just a warning; English is not my first language, I also don't know how they celebrate Christmas in the US as I live in Europe
Laura had begun a habit of flirting with her wife's brother just to tease and irritate her, and of course, he was playing along
It was Christmas. Clint was invited to spend Christmas with his sister, Laura, and the kids, but, of course, after he said yes, he was on a mission and kept having to stay a little late
He finally arrived. He had brought another guest. Kate.
"Kate, this is my sister-in-law, Laura" Clint introduced Kate to the family "This is my niece and nephews; Lila, Nathaniel, and cooper. And this... Is my sister, Y/N" Greetings went around
She seemed sweet, and the kids really liked her
Christmas evening, they were all seven sitting around the table eating the homemade meal, and of course, Y/N couldn't enjoy her favorite holiday of the year without her brother and wife flirting across the table
"Ma?" Lila sounded a little concerned looking at her angry-looking mother
"Yes, dear?" She turned her head towards her, pupils dilated
"You okay? You looked a little angry before"
"I'm fine, monkey" She reassured her with a smile and returned her head towards the two most annoying people in the house
Long flirty looks, feet touching under the table, flirty smiles and laughs in the conversation. She was furious
Y/N put her hand on Laura's thigh. It was the first warning. But, she didn't get it. She kept going on, so, Y/N put her hand on her inner thigh. Now she was in trouble. It was gonna be a rough night
Y/N was washing the dishes in the kitchen when Laura came up behind her snaking her arms around Y/N's waist and resting her head on her wife's right shoulder
Y/N was still cleaning the dishes, ignoring Laura
She wanted to get her wife's attention. She started leaving trails of sloppy kissing along her neck. Most times she would buckle under, but this time, she wouldn't get down so easy
"Love, you okay? You never get this railed up"
She turned off the water and violently turned around to face her "You know all too well that Christmas is my favorite holiday, and you flirting with Clint, didn't really make it the best of all" She started to raise her voice "It was fine in the beginning, but-" Laura caught her off kissing her
"I love you, Y/N/N" She had guilt in her eyes "I'm sorry, love"
"You're in for a hell of a night"
Back pressed up against the door, one hand in her hair, the other scratching her back, trying to keep her moans down
"Fuck, Y/N" Laura moaned as Y/N kept sucking on the spot below her ear
Y/N slid her hand under Laura's dress and around to her ass while she trailed her kissing along her jaw and up to her mouth. She slid down Laura's underwear and kicked them to the side
She slid two fingers through her folds, covering Laura's mouth with the other so she would stay quiet
She started circling her clit, making her moan into her hand. She went faster, making Laura almost unable to stand. Y/N took her hand from Laura's mouth and helped her stand up
"Fuck, Y/N, I'm gonna-"
"Show. Don't tell" And she did, not long after
"Fuck, Laura. Do you know how hot you are, especially in this state? All sweaty" Which made Laura laugh
"I'm Sorry, Love"

My personal thoughts (not that you asked for them)
1) I think Ron was the most important/favorite person in harry’s life until he was about 20, then I think that person changed to ginny. They got married, they spend their nights together, their mornings, their evenings, they made kids together, I could go on. Him and Ginny have a very close bond as best friends (as we saw in effloresce) that isn’t quite like him and ron’s, but is close. But he has bonds with ginny he doesn’t have with ron. They have a very passionate sexual bond with one another. They adopted Teddy together. They raided kids together. They have their nightly talks together. They are the other half of each other’s soul. I think Ron is Harry’s favorite person not including Ginny, because I think, from all of what we’ve seen, it’s not possible for Harry to love anyone more than ginny. She is his actual soulmate. The bromance between Ron and Harry is unstoppable and they need each other, but Ginny is Harry’s other half. 2) In addition to that, you have stated that you don’t think harry can physically live without ron or ginny. I don’t think you give him enough credit. Yes, he was abused. Yes, Ginny and the Weasleys saved him. Yes, he still struggles. But Harry is a person without them, even if HE doesn’t think so. I think we read/you write harry’s thought process and start to agree with him: he is nothing and worthless without ginny. He can’t live without them. But the whole point is that everyone else knows harry is stronger than he thinks. If Ginny or Ron died, he would be crushed. He would be severely depressed for the rest of his life. He would never be the same or be truly happy again. But saying he would kill himself or die of depression takes away from what Harry’s strength is all about. It discredits him as a character and person and everything he’s been through. He has kids. He has grandkids. He has family. Harry loses people all the time, but he knows there’s a bigger picture. Yes, I know Ginny would be much worse than Sirius or Remus, but he is still a human being without Ginny. I know everyone wants to say he’s nothing without her, but that’s not fair of you to say that. Thats you taking on his abusive thinking. That’s the opposite of what we’ve learned about harry. Harry was a person before her. He has been through more than anyone else, but he’s also stronger than anyone else. He is something without them. He’s Harry. He fights for people. He stands up for what is right. He keeps the people he loves safe. If he lost Ginny, he would lose a part of himself, but he would keep going. He has kids to keep safe. He has grandkids to be safe. He has a family to keep safe. He would go on. That’s. What. Harry. James. Potter. Does. It’s his whole character!!! It’s also what he knows ginny would want him to do. She would want him to take care of their kids and grandkids. And Ron would want him to take care of ginny and make his sister happy, along with make sure his own kids and grandkids are looked after. To say he would just die immediately without considering his kids or duties would be a betrayal of his character. He would go on. He fights. Ginny is his soulmate, Ron is his best mate, and without them he is not truly happy, but he is still harry fucking potter and he is strong. He’s not as broken as he thinks. He’s not as broken as his thoughts lead us to think. Give the man more credit! Ginny and Ron have taught him he is loved. He knows his kids love him. He knows molly and arthur love him. He knows his brothers and sisters in law love him. He knows his nieces and nephews love him. If he lost one or both of his two favorite people, he would know he is still loved, even if it took him a while to get there and had to be physically slapped in the face by someone. Not to mention if he only lost one - if he lost Ron, he would still have his ginny. She would help him get through it. If he lost his Ginny, he would still have Ron, he would help him get through it. But unless he lost his entire family, he would keep going. He would live for even just one of his kids. Harry gets through things. That’s who he is
I think Harry could survive without Ron. I think Ginny could carry him through it. But I think it would be a very dark and depressive time in his life.
I legit think Harry would die of a broken heart if Ginny died. If anyone could die of broken heart syndrome, it would be Harry. I can’t even imagine Ginny dying first. Nope. My headcanon is that it’s Harry.
But we can agree to disagree on some points.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy Appreciation Week - Day 4: Favorite Ships by Moots
Hey guys! This is the fourth entry for @endlessly-cursed’s fantastic HPHL Appreciation Week. Today the focus is on other people’s ships! Y’all have made some wonderful couples and friend groups/duos! There are so many of them that again it is a challenge to narrow down which ones will be featured for the post. Anyway here goes:
Tedelia - Adelia Selwyn @thatravenpuffwitch and @cursebreakerfarrier
Slytherin and Gryffindor in love and getting along like peas and carrots? It’s hard to believe for the common student but if the passion is there it is going to happen. Dear Addy is far from the stereotype of her house and she is so wonderful and compassionate! Teddy and his dormmates are a group of chaotic Gryffindors but they love their gals all the same. Together he and Addy have built a beautiful family with three great kiddos. Danny is a frequent visitor to the Selwyn-Ellison household and he loves Teddy, Addy and their kids so much!! He considers the kids part of his found family just as much as their parents, they’re like nephews and nieces to him and he tries to find them great gifts for their birthdays and Christmas celebrations. Danny has always been close with Teddy and Adelia - he and Teddy are colleagues as aurors and he stops by to see Adelia frequently while working in France. The role that Tedelia has in Danny’s life is why it is number one on this list!
Roxariel - Gabriel Sapieha @slytherindisaster and Roxie Haley @beloved-bucky
This wholesome ship reaches number two spot by a close margin to Tedelia. I cannot decide which should be number two because its more like that it and Tedelia hold equal places in my book. Still this ship is one of my favorites because the gal in here is Danny’s sister figure and best friend Roxie! Gabriel is also a dear friend to him! He is protective of Danny and cares a lot for his well-being, where to he would put himself in harm’s way to keep him safe. The dynamic for Roxariel is unique - I just love how Gabriel and Roxie are still able to love each other so much even though she is a vampire. In a time where racism and supremacy still dominate the wizarding world, this couple can be an example of how minorities can still achieve successful and fulfilling lives just like regular people. Danny is also very grateful to have Gabriel and Roxie in his life and they’re very dear to him - his life would never be complete in their absence.
Galehan - Siobhan Llewelyn @kc-and-co and Galen Stagg @cursebreakerfarrier
Two sweethearts that have it all. Their story is about living life to the fullest. Bonding over a love of magizoology and outdoorsy-ness, Bon-bon and Galen live a very unique and epic lifestyle with many connections around the world. They look over many creature reserves in several countries - one of which is located in the U.S. state of Arizona. Danny vibes with the couple over their appreciation and reverence of the outdoors, reminding him of the better angels of his old home far away. He loves Bon-bon so much and they’ve been best buddies since their Hogwarts days. Galen is such a sweet and soft boy with great compassion and acceptance for minority groups which Danny really appreciates! When working in America he often stays at one of the reserves under the care of Shiv and Galen and is always happy to see them and hear about their latest adventures!
Reubeila - Leila Hellebore @whatwouldvalerydo and Reuben Willows @that-scouse-wizard
While I don’t bring up this ship much it still deserves recognition. Like Roxariel, this ship is another great example of how normally disadvantaged groups in wizarding society are still capable of having romantic feelings, falling in love, getting married and raising a family! Reuben is an awesome quidditch mate of Danny and Leila is a Slytherin lady with demon heritage. Like him they’re both are the type that may seem intimating on the outside but on the inside they’re just amazing friends who do great things for those they know and do their best to give back!

Always be my plus one - part 3
Tumblr media
Ok, look, it's 4 am, there are going to be typos, and we're just going to have to deal with it. I also tried to find a gif that was Tyson and Cale but I couldn't find one in the gif insert thing on here so I just went with this one (it feels weird to change it up but like, oops)
I make no promises that you aren't going to be mad at me for this part so have fun !
This is shorter than the last part, coming in at around 5k words.
The only warnings I have here are implied sex.
Translations for the Italian in here: "tu sei uno stronzo" - you're an ass(hole)
stronzino - little asshole
Also want to thank @justjosty @zinka8 @hockeylvr59 @hockeywocs anons and I'm sure I'm forgetting people for helping me write this part but ily all I'm just dumb and tired
Read the previous part here!

Valentine’s Day
The Feast Day of St. Valentine is traditionally celebrated in the Western Catholic Church on February 14, to honor the patron saint of love. Though not traditionally celebrated as a Catholic holiday, millions of people celebrate the day of love with those who mean the most to them. While pessimists of the day say it’s a ‘holiday made up by greeting card companies,’ approximately 190 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent in the United States alone, not including cards given by school children to their classmates. Couples enjoy the holiday with a romantic night out, presents, flowers, chocolates, etc., while those who don’t have someone or don’t care do whatever they want without the pressure of living up to a holiday that doesn’t mean very much in the grand scheme of things.

February 12, 2022
“Where are you going tonight?” Matthew’s voice came through his younger sister’s phone. He had called early in the week to see if Anne could babysit Harper so he and Stephanie could do something for Valentine’s Day without having to shell out an extravagant amount of money on a sitter.
“I’m, uh,” Anne hesitates, “going out with Tyson. Sorry.” She hears Matthew let out a sigh on the other end. “Hey, stronzo, why don’t you ask Lucy? Her and Jason never do anything on Valentine’s Day.”
Matthew starts talking about how the last time he asked Lucy last minute to watch his daughter, despite their girls being best friends, she ended up going on a fifteen-minute rant. While Anne gets her heels on, staring at herself in the mirror and admiring the floor-length, red dress she had on the slit going up the side for no one but herself, Matthew continues to tell her about how his twin goes on and on about needing a schedule at all times, how she can’t just drop everything in a moment’s notice because he wants to do something with his wife.
“Hey, Matthew,” she cuts him off, trying to shrug her coat on, “Why didn’t you ask Lucy or Sebby after I said no earlier this week?”
“Because I didn’t think you actually had plans.”
“Again, tu sei uno stronzo.”
“I am not an ass!” he detests.
“Fine, you’re a stronzino, happy?” Anne hears him stammer again, not letting him get a word in, “I have to go, I’ll talk to you later, ok? Ask Ma, Dad’s off in Florida right now so she would probably love to have Harper for the night.”
He lets out another sigh, Stephanie’s voice coming through in the background despite Anne’s inability to understand what she was saying. “Fine. Have fun with Tyson. I don’t need another niece or nephew around Halloween, though, ok?”
“Don’t be gross,” she says, hanging up and finally heading out the door.
Her cousin Adriana was getting married to her soon-to-be wife, Izzy. Her family had no idea that she was the only one who still talked to them, her mother having a fight with her brother after their parents died when Anne and her siblings were younger and vowing to never talk to him again. So far, the stubbornness that seems to run through her mom’s blood going strong since it had been over a decade since she had last seen her brother. Anne was invited to Uncle Frankie’s daughter’s wedding, but no one else in her family.
Adriana and Izzy had this Valentine’s Day-themed wedding, everyone asked to wear red or pink in theme with the holiday, Anne not doubting that there would be paper hearts and cut-out cupids as the decor. The wedding gift she bought them, one of the first things she found on their registry that Anne could afford, was shipped to the apartment they already shared two weeks ago, Anne just needing to remember the card.
She was fully prepared to just sit in the corner with a bunch of people she didn’t know and watch as her cousin got married to the love of her life. Anne wasn’t sure that that side of her family would recognize her after how many years, guaranteeing her to spend her time on the sideline.
Anne slips into the back of the church, seeing no one she knew or recognized to even go up to and sit with them. Everyone was dressed in red, pink, and black. A bit too much for her own taste, but at least she looked good in red and would have worn the color anyway. ‘Note to self, no themed weddings,’ Anne thinks, not particularly fond of the lack of color or real choice that everyone had in figuring out what to wear.
A blonde boy in a red suit walks by her, too far past her to get a good look at him. There was something about him that caught her attention. Anne knew that walk, but she had no idea where she knew it from. It didn’t stop her from admiring him from afar, though, the short blonde hair and the obviously fit physique under the suit captivated her for whatever reason, leaving her practically unable to pay attention to the ceremony in front of her. Not that she cared, at this point she was just there to enjoy the free food she knew would be good at the reception later.
Anne sat at the table against the wall, her cousin not bothering to make a seating chart and just leaving it up to the guests to sit where they pleased. That meant she didn’t have to talk to anyone she didn’t want to, being virtually left alone at a wedding where she knew no one.
“Anne?” a familiar voice snaps her out of the trance she fell into watching Ana’s sister and brother-in-law, Catie and Danny dancing with their two daughters, remembering seeing their pictures on Facebook when they were born, not realizing how much they had grown.
She turns to the man in the red suit who had her attention throughout the ceremony. “Cale?” she smiles at him, not sure how the two had missed they would be at the same wedding this weekend. Since New Year's Eve, the two of them had been texting, calling, FaceTiming, they had hung out, spent the night with each other, Cale insisting he buy her dinner at least once a week. The only reason they weren’t dating each other was because neither of them had said they were. They both said they were busy this weekend, but who would have thought they would end up at the same place. “What are you doing here?”
“Izzy’s brother and I grew up playing hockey together. I grew up with her. What are you doing?” he asks her, taking the seat next to her.
“Ana’s my cousin. Her dad is my mom’s older brother.”
Cale smiles at her, Anne’s heart racing at the sight of it. “So I get to meet your family?”
Anne shakes her head. “I’m the only one here,” she tells him, explaining the family drama that went on between Frankie and Teresa.
Cale looks down at his lap, his hands fidgeting with the hem of his suit jacket. The red bowtie, red pants, red jacket even against the black shirt were so much Anne couldn’t tell if his cheeks were red because of the reflection of his clothes or for another reason. “Tyson’s met your family, hasn’t he?”
She nods, taking his hand in hers. “I told you, Tyson and I are just friends. I needed someone to come with me to a family thing, so he came with me.” Cale nods, not entirely sure that something wasn’t up with her and Tyson. Something was off, there was something he was sure Anne was leaving out, but he wasn’t sure. “Hey, I’ve seen Tyson, what, three times since New Year's? All of them when I was with you. I like you, Cale.”
Cale leans over for a kiss, his hand grazing Anne’s thigh, sending a shiver down her spine. “How about we dance like we did on New Year's?” he asks, standing from the seat, shrugging off the red jacket before he extended his hand out to her.
She rolls her eyes, getting up with him anyway. “I told you then, too, that I don’t like dancing.”
“And yet,” he says, pulling her close, his hand finding the small of her back while he presses his forehead against hers, gazing into her eyes, “you danced with me all night then, and you got up to dance with me tonight.”
Anne laughs, knowing he was right, burying her face in his shoulder, swearing she heard some camera’s clicking, probably the wedding photographer hanging around somewhere and taking pictures of the guests dancing.
“I know I have to say this about the brides when they come in,” Cale whispers in her ear, “but you are the most beautiful girl here.”
Anne could feel herself blushing, her mind flashing back to New Year’s Eve when Tyson told her she looked beautiful. He seemed so genuine saying it, Anne thinking back and not sure if he meant it or was actually pretending. But with Cale, she knew. Cale meant it. “You’re not so bad yourself,” she tells him, ghosting his lips before kissing him.
Being with Cale felt fine. Not perfect, but fine. It was right, but not correct, and Anne couldn’t figure out why.
Everyone starts clearing off the dance floor, the bridal party getting ready to come in. Cale takes Anne’s hand and leads her back to the table where he left his jacket, some other people finding their home base at the same table. Cale knew one of the men at the table, probably from their little hockey group that involved Izzy’s brother. The bridesmaids and bridesmen, as the DJ put it, started coming in, Cale leaning back with his arm slung around the back of Anne’s chair. She leaned back into him, his fingertips dancing up and down her arm as they watched everyone come in.
They watched Ana and Izzy dance their first one as wives, Anne’s stomach starting to make noise as they waited for the food to come.
Cale leans over, nervous about what he was about to whisper in her ear. “Are you hungry for food or maybe something more?”
Anne felt her entire body go numb at his words. They had been seeing each other for a month and a half already, so was what he was insinuating really that strange of an idea? “That depends.”
“On?” he asks, nibbling on her ear before kissing the skin right behind it, losing any sense of care over who at their table was potentially watching.
“On how long you think we need to wait before we can slip out without it being rude?”
Cale inhaled sharply, wishing he could say right now. “At least until they cut the cake. Unless,” he says, his hand moving up her thigh, slowly in case she decided she wanted it to stop, “Unless you wanted to try to find somewhere to sneak away to now.”
“Not for our first time,” she tells him, reaching up to cup his cheek. “And not with my family around,” she laughs.
“I’m fine with that,” he tells her, kissing her. “Your place or mine, though?”
“Well, I drove myself here.”
“And I got a ride.”
Anne smiles, crossing her legs in hopes that whatever she felt would be stifled by that simple action. “So it looks like it’s going to be mine.”
They spent the rest of the night waiting for the moment the cake was cut so they could leave as planned, Cale’s hand never leaving her leg unless he really needed both hands to do something.
Anne could feel her heart racing as she watched Ana and Izzy smash their cake in each other’s face, Anne looking over to Cale and smiling. “You wanna go?” she asks, her keys already out of her bag and in her hand.
Cale drags her out without saying a word, Anne leading him to her car. He walks over to the driver’s side, his arms wrapped around her waist with her back pressed against her car. “You’re sure about this?” he asks her, his eyes flicking between hers and her lips.
“Yeah,” she says, kissing him before he opens the door for her. She couldn’t wait to get home, sure she broke a few traffic laws as she sped back to her apartment with Cale sitting next to her in the passenger seat, his leg shaking the entire time.
They got to the elevator, Cale leaning against her against the wall with his lips pressed against hers, Anne’s hands already working to unbutton his shirt. Cale’s kisses trailed down her jaw to her collarbone, his grip tightening on her waist.
Anne pulled away to lead him down the hallway, practically running, partially due to anticipation for what they were about to do, and because Anne could feel a breeze on her back, indicating that Cale had already unzipped her dress. That, coupled with the fact that Cale’s shirt was already open, his jacket in his free hand, Anne had no desire for any of her neighbors to be given the chance to see her and however Cale was to her already getting naked before closing the door.
As soon as she unlocked her door, Cale had her turned back around, kicking the door closed as he carried her to her bedroom, Anne able to feel everything about him against her body. Cale laid her down on her bed, his lips never leaving hers as he positioned himself over her, sliding her dress off while she did the same with his shirt. Anne’s breath hitched at the sight of him, his body perfect while he stared her down, the first time she saw the typically innocent boy she had been seeing with a mischievous grin covering his face, his eyes darkening at the thought of doing what they had both been wanting to do all night.
“You’re sure about this?” he asks one more time.
Anne nods, taking his face in her hands. “Yes, Cale. I’m sure.”

February 13, 2022
Anne woke up the next morning, the events of the night before rushing back despite finding the space he had occupied in her bed empty. Her dress was on the floor, Cale’s red bowtie somehow having ended up on her night stand. Maybe he left it there as an excuse to see her again, making a mental note to put it in the living room so she would remember it the next time she saw him.
He had slipped out at some point that morning, Anne playing the voicemail that he left her while she slipped on a t-shirt to cover herself. “Hey, Anne. Sorry, I couldn’t stay, but morning skate was calling. I,” she hears him sigh, knowing he had a stupid grin on his face for whatever it was he was about to say, “I can’t wait to have another night like last night with you.”
It was her turn to have the stupid smile on her face as Cale continues, “Um, anyway, I’ve got something going on with JT and some of the other guys tomorrow for Valentine’s Day, a, uh, charity thing? I think? So would you be free this weekend for a proper date for the holiday? You know, not as crowded, not as much pressure, ideally the same outcome, if you’ll allow it? Oh, hey Tyson,” she hears him say, figuring that he was calling her on the way into the rink despite her being unable to hear Tyson. “Yeah, I’m planning Valentine’s Day with Anne. No, not tomorrow night, this weekend. Uh, Anne, I’ve gotta go, but let me know about, say, Friday night? Alright, talk to you later. Bye.”
Valentine’s Day date with Cale? Part two, more like, but still. Anne liked the sound of that.
“So, uh,” Tyson starts, already dreading what he was about to hear from his teammate given what he had heard him say into his phone. “You and Anne?”
“Yeah,” Cale breathes out, chuckling at the thought of what happened last night. “We, um,” Cale couldn’t even get a full sentence out, acting like a child who just got the toy he had been begging his parents for on Christmas morning. He couldn’t remember the last time he was that happy. “We spent the night together last night. I left from her place this morning.”
More of their teammates were filtering into the locker room, looking at Cale’s face turn bright red while Tyson stood there with him looking like he just about wanted to die. “Ok, but did you spend the night, or spend the night?” Ryan asks.
Cale started to stammer out nonsense, not really wanting to divulge the private details of his and Anne’s night despite the guys teasing him and congratulating him for what he wasn’t saying.
“Guys, keep it civil. Anne wouldn’t want us talking about any of this,” Tyson pipes in, Cale letting out a sigh of relief as the guys disperse to get ready for morning skate.
“Thanks,” Cale tells him, going off on his own to get his gear on.
JT appears by Tyson’s side, a stupid smirk on his face. “Would Anne not want us talking about anything, or would you not want us talking about anything?”
“Well, Anne definitely wouldn’t.”
“Oh, come on, we both know Cale would never.”
“Doesn’t mean I want him to have the chance.”
“You’re treading in deep water, dude,” JT sighs.
Tyson looks at him, hating that he knew what he meant. He had barely seen Anne, despite her brother’s texts from the night before asking if Anne really couldn’t watch Harper because of the two of them going out, Tyson going along with the lie just in case. “I don’t know what you want from me.”
“It seems like you don’t know what you want from Anne, either,” JT shrugs. “But Cale does, and he got it.”
=============
February 14, 2022
12 hour shifts were the only shifts Anne knew. And they were the shifts that Anne detested the most. She was fine the first ten hours, but the last two always seemed to suck more than anything, leaving her exhausted for the rest of the day, into the night, depending on when she got home in the first place.
All she wanted to do was order dinner from the Thai place down the street, having it delivered despite her really not needing to since it was within walking distance, plop herself on her couch and watch whatever reality TV Lucy had texted her that she thought Anne would like. Anne knew she would turn it off after a single episode and switch to Food Network, but at least she could tell her sister she tried.
Anne walks to her apartment, dragging her feet to her door when she sees someone sitting on the ground, his head down looking at his phone. “Tyson?”
He gets up, grabbing the two bags he had with him as the smell of food filled her nose. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my fake girlfriend,” he says, raising the bags while Anne opens the door to let him in.
“I’m confused,” she tells him as he sets everything down.
“Well, Matthew called me on Saturday asking if the two of us were sure we couldn’t watch his daughter, and I figured he might as well have some sort of photographic evidence as proof of us spending Valentine’s Day together,” Tyson explains. “So, I figured I’d go all out: flowers, dinner, and a present. You know, really convince them that we’re together.”
Anne stares at him for a second, not sure why her heart was racing at the thought of him going out of his way to keep up this facade with her family. “I don’t think I like that you and Matthew are so ‘buddy-buddy.’ Or that fact that he didn’t believe me the first two times I told him I was busy on Saturday night. And I thought that you guys had a charity thing tonight?”
“Oh, you didn’t know?” Tyson asks, handing her the container of food as she joined him on the couch, the Thai food she was planning on ordering right in front of her. “We have a groupchat. Yeah, it’s me, Sebby, Lucy, and Matthew.”
Anne scoffs, rolling her eyes at his failed attempt at a joke. “And let me guess: you gossip about me the entire time.”
“Actually,” he says, his mouth full of food, “you never come up. They think of me as the fourth sibling. The name Anne means nothing.”
Anne laughs, Tyson admiring the way her eyes closed as her smile grew. God, he wished he had gotten to her before Cale did. Why did he have to leave her alone at all on New Year’s Eve? If he were by her side the entire night like he had wanted to be, then he wouldn’t have to pretend to be her boyfriend, he could actually be getting somewhere with her.
“Hm,” Anne hums, swallowing her mouthful of food. “You said flowers and a present. When do I get those?”
“You can get them now on the condition that I can take a video to send to your siblings,” he offers, pulling out his phone and pushing the bag with the flowers and gift behind him. Anne rolls her eyes, smiling and nodding while he starts the video. He hands her the card first. “Read it.”
Anne pulls it out of the envelope, glitter getting everywhere and making her cringe, knowing that it would be impossible to get off her scrubs later on. It was covered with roses and hearts, bringing her right back to the wedding that weekend. “No one has ever made me feel like this. To the woman I love: Happy Valentine’s Day,” Anne reads, feeling a lump forming in her throat. The card was so corny, a little too corny for her taste, but coming from Tyson, she didn’t know why she loved it. She shakes her head, laughing at Tyson. “I love you, too,” she lies.
Tyson swallows hard at her words, wishing she meant them, pulling out the flowers from the bag and handing them to her. She looks down at the flowers, trying to figure out what they are before looking up at him. “Queen Anne’s Lace?”
“Queen Anne’s Lace for my Queen, Anne,” he tells her, cringing at his own words.
Anne giggles, placing them in her lap. “And my favorite flowers, anyway. Thank you, Tyson.”
“Wait, I have one more thing,” he says, hoping that the camera wasn’t shaking too much while he reached for the gift he bought her.
He hands it to her, a small red box wrapped with a gold bow. She unties it carefully, opening the box and gasping at the sight of it. A golden necklace with a white enamel heart as the charm, a golden pattern outlining the heart. “Tyson, it’s,” she starts, unable to find the words, “it’s beautiful.”
He stops the recording, figuring he had enough to hit send to his ‘girlfriend's' siblings. “Let me put it on you,” he says, Anne turning around and moving her hair out of the way. “I thought you would like it.”
Anne studies his face, the smile plastered on it despite her knowing that he didn’t mean it. “You didn’t have to do this.”
He shrugs, grabbing his food off the table and staring at it now in his lap. “It was fun. I’ve never had a girlfriend who I could buy presents like this for. I mean, I still don’t, but I have you.”
“Oh, come on. You, Tyson Jost, have never had a girlfriend? Look at you,” she says, praying that she was careful with the words she chose. “You’re gorgeous, you’re sweet, you’re funny, you get along with everyone you meet.”
Tyson hated hearing Anne go on about him, knowing that she was just saying it as a friend instead of something more. He scoffs, trying to save face from whatever pain or other emotion he was feeling. “Come on,” he says, not believing her anyway.
“I’m serious!” she insists, reaching up and starting to fidget with her new necklace. “Any girl would be lucky to have you as her boyfriend. I’m lucky to even have you as a fake boyfriend.”
Tyson nods, turning his body to face the TV instead of Anne. “So what are we watching?” he asks, changing the subject and putting his feet up on the table, Anne doing the same.
“Whatever’s on Food Network?” she suggests, holding the remote in the air pointed at the TV.
The two of them settle in, Tyson not paying attention to the show she had turned on. “Hey, what’s that?” Tyson asks, racing over to the red fabric that was on Anne’s coffee table.
“Oh,” Anne blushes, taking it from Tyson. “This is Cale’s. He, um, let it the other night,” she explains, Tyson watching her turn his teammates bowtie over in her hands.
“So you and Cale are doing pretty well?” he asks. Anne looks at him, not sure if she really wanted to tell him about it. “Come on, we’re friends. You can talk to me about anything.”
“I mean,” she says, putting down the bowtie on the table, not taking her eyes off of it. “We’re together? I think?” Tyson already hated that he even offered to listen to her talk about her and his teammate. “I like him. A lot. And I know he likes me, but,” Anne lets out a sigh, not sure where to even take her sentence.
“But, what?” Tyson asks.
“I don’t know,” she shakes her head, looking confused. “Everything is great, but it’s, I,” she stammers. “Something is off, and I can’t figure out what.”
Tyson stares at her for a second, trying to figure out what to say. “It’s probably just that it’s new,” he shrugs. “Everything seems weird when you’re still figuring it out. You and Cale will be ok,” he tells her, hating hearing those words come out of his mouth.
=============
February 19, 2022
Anne stared at herself in the mirror, the black turtleneck she borrowed from her sister coupled with a beige skirt and black tights on her as she got ready for her date with Cale. He was bound to show up any minute, promising each other they weren’t going to do gifts due to a general lack of time on both ends. She didn’t believe that he wasn’t going to get her a gift, however, sneaking out to the bakery down the street and buying some pastries that the two of them would like, giving them an excuse to both show up back at her apartment. And if he didn’t give her a gift, then she got the pastries all to herself.
If not, she could share them with Tyson, who had been showing up at her place or asking her to go to his place any free chance they both had.
She heard Cale knocking at her door, Anne rushing as fast as she could in her heels to answer. Cale was standing there, a black crewneck similar to her own turtleneck, paired with dark jeans, black boots, and a grey coat. Cale kisses her hello, one hand behind his back with the other resting on her hip. “Every time I see you I don’t think you could get more beautiful, and yet, you do.”
“You’re cheesy,” she jokes as he kisses her forehead, Cale laughing against her skin. “But you,” Anne says, resting her hands on his chest, “get more handsome every time I see you, too. And, you’re hiding a present behind your back, aren’t you, even though we said no presents.”
Cale laughs, closing the door behind him. “Maybe I saw this and had to get it for you,” he admits, kissing her again and holding up the bag near her head.
“Should I open it now or should I do it later when we come back here?” she flirts, holding the bag in her hand.
“Oh, we’re coming back here?” he teases her, trailing kisses down her neck.
“I might have gotten some dessert for us so we had an excuse to relive last Saturday. Plus, you left your bowtie here,” she gestures to it, still sitting on her table, “And I was thinking maybe you wear that tonight instead of keeping it off?”
Cale raises his eyebrow at her, a silly smile on his face. “And what else would I be wearing?”
Anne shrugs, pretending to act innocent. “I was thinking only the bowtie,” she tells him, feeling his grip around her tighten at the thought.
Cale kisses her again, unable to keep his hands off the girl in front of him. If he could, he would forget dinner altogether and just go straight to dessert, but he knew Anne wasn’t that kind of girl, and he wasn’t about to force her into anything she didn’t want. “Hey, I like that necklace you’re wearing,” he says, twirling the charm around in his fingers. “The heart is perfect for Valentine’s Day.”
She reaches up and takes his hand in hers. “Thanks. My sister got it for me a few years ago for my birthday,” she lies. She couldn’t tell him that Tyson had gotten it for her for Valentine’s Day.

all i've really drawn for the last few years is my ocs in 12982039847098 aus over and over./.....ANYWAY this is my TLOU au with my darling beloved uwu. I'm throwing this out with like 2% context so i'll explain a little
top to bottom:
Benny sitting with his nephew Frankie and niece Sofi, taking notes of everything going on in both the city and the country at large. Right now, his 3 brothers, cousin and their partners/children have holed up at the family dojo, as his parents live the most central of all of them. His mother Midori and father Hideyoshi have decided, with pretty much unanimous agreement, that the best plan of action is to leave the city, because the chaos is beginning to hit Texas levels. Benny being the only one with military training is in charge of tracking the FEMA-National Guard group that will eventually become FEDRA in a year or so. (corner notes are ages)
Anna tries to convince her and Tom's husband Eddie to leave with them. Unfortunately Eddie is a city boy, born and bred, and is having a difficult time wanting to leave his home. Eddie and his mother are very much of the "i was born in this hole and i'm gonna DIE in this hole" mentality. Eddie isn't opposed at all to his family going somewhere safe though. next drawing is Tom and Eddie listening to Tom's parents explain their reasoning for leaving, as well as the plan.
Eddie joins the Takahashi family up to the outskirts of the city, and then heads back. Anna understands; if not for her 2 kids and another on the way, she would also be in the city trying to help take it back. She left her job as a doctor purely to save her kids, not because she wouldn't put herself on the line for other people.
Benny has struggled most his life with identity that he didn't understand. After many years of acting out, he finally took his parents' advice to join the military to get "cleaned up", but it didn't help much for his mental state. After the collapse of society, and spending his days protecting his family, he feels....free. Life is difficult but he's got purpose.
the summer camp that the Takahashi family uses, bringing kids from their dojo classes and whoever else wants to join every year. Midori's sister Miya lives by the camp, and her husband is in charge of year round maintenance of the camp. This is where they plan to hole up for a while.

March 11 2023
Meow meow here I am again coming to you from my bedroom. I had been watching youtube videos and being on my Steam Deck until I ran out of videos to watch. I can’t believe that happens. I am so tired of it. My folks are napping in their bedroom while I am as I stated before in my bedroom. I had an interesting day to say the least. I went with my mom and Kylie the dog to run some errands in town. While in the car I had to try to keep Kylie calm because she didn’t seem to like when the car stopped at places. Meow well we stopped at Burger King to get some food from there and I shared some fries with Kylie. Well Kylie threw up on my lap and at least there was a way to clean up the mess but when I got home I had to change clothing. I wasn’t always in the bedroom today I was also in the living room as always. I didn’t stay there long because my mom came home from next door tending to my niece and nephew. Today my sister and her new baby came home from the hospital which is good. I haven’t seen the baby physically yet. I feel tired. I didn’t get as much sleep as I used to when I had my CPAP machine. I think I must have told someone that I had messed up my CPAP machine while in a dream well that’s what happened to my CPAP machine. I must have hit it so hard that it wouldn’t function. I feel like no one wants to talk with me today other than my folks. I haven’t been able to chat with anyone of my friends on Facebook messager today. I have my bedroom blocked off keeping Kylie out of the room so she wouldn’t bark at me. I don’t know what it is with Kylie she likes to bark for attention. Meow this neko boy doesn’t understand this neighborhood where I live. I don’t like going outside like I used to when I lived in another house. My family doesn’t understand that I am simply kind of afraid of this neighborhood. Yes I am in my 30s but this neko boy just doesn’t like living here. I feel not my age. I am Autistic and Bipolar. Meow I just hit that mental wall sometimes where I can barely function. I had to couple of times while typing this blog entry to check on Kylie because she started barking from the living room at the neighborhood kids that seem not to understand what no trespassing means. We don’t have signs up but we had told these kids many times not to get in our yard. Anyway I guess I will end this entry for now. I might post some pictures or not. It really depends what happens after this. Until next time later.

hey hope you’re having a good day!
prompt: amelias sisters come to visit after scouts born and and find out about scout.
thank you so much i hope you’re having a good day too!!! <333
ALSO shoutout to @afsalta for helping me with this one!!
There was resentment, or maybe it was just pure hatred. Ever since she was old enough to form memories, there was always absolute disgust on her sister’s faces when it came to Amelia, or it could have also been disappointment, maybe even embarrassment. Embarrassed that their little sister wasn’t like them, instead they thought she was a mess; a mess that they convinced themselves she was going to be for as long as they lived. No matter how many years were under her belt for sobriety, she will always be that young girl that had shadows casting over face, pale skin and heavy eyes, sitting on the edge of a sidewalk, across from a bar with her head spinning and a handful of orange pills laying flat in her palm. A girl that stole the prescription pad of her older brother, crashing his white Mustang because she was too fucked up to drive. The same girl that used her own prescription pad to write doses for her and her boyfriend, him overdosing in the process. For as long as she could remember, they will always see her as a drunk or as a junkie who didn’t have her life together and never will.
A shadow, Derek always had a shadow and most would argue that it was her; following in her brothers foot steps but never being able to be successful. There was always competition, more so with her older brother and there was always a weight on her chest, a pressure into being as great as him; as great as her sisters. Success and failure didn’t come together as they believed he was successful and she wasn’t; rather she was a failure. The weight that sat on her shoulders was always pulling her down, making her believe that she’ll never be Amelia Shepherd, never her own person, instead she’ll forever be that girl screaming at her friends during an intervention about how much she wants drugs; needs drugs. Amelia believes that she’s just as great as he is and she can truly say that she’s proud of herself, proud of who she became and how far she’s come. The competition of her not being as successful, as normal as her family, has and always will be weighing her down because in their eyes she will always be the messy little sister who cannot be trusted.
She didn’t talk to her family, didn’t call, didn’t visit, Derek was the only exception and even then, they didn’t communicate as much as she would have hoped. Usually she calls her mom, keeping in touch as much as she could but the resentment and pain she has still lingered, since her own mom left her alone on her wedding day. Her big day, one of the most important days of her life and her mom refused to go despite her own daughter begging for her to attend. It was unbearable pain, a pain that wasn’t worth for her to continue to put herself through so instead she found her true family, her friends back in Los Angeles and her sisters, her children and her nieces and nephew. Amelia was content, her sisters words that used to haunt her no longer lingered in the back of her head because she knew she was better than the Amelia that her family decided to create.
At least that’s what she thought; being content and happy. She realized she was mistaken when a chill was being sent down her spine, a shiver that made goosebumps form on her arms, enough to make the hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
“Kathleen?” Amelia breathed, her sister was stood outside the front door, the other sister standing not too far behind. “Nancy?”
“Amelia? Where have you been?” Nancy turned so she was facing Amelia and both girls had disgusted looks on their face, a look that was so familiar to her.
“I live in Seattle, I have since Derek gave me this job,” she started, a confused look on her face and her sisters were giving it back, probably because there was a toddler in her arms and he was propped up on her hip. “What are you doing here?”
“We talked to Meredith,” Kathleen stated. “We’re here to visit her and the kids.” They might as well just stabbed her right in the chest and twisted, because she felt something in her chest, pain; they weren’t there to see her. Amelia shouldn’t be surprised though, she didn’t visit either.
So instead of making it a big deal, not allowing to show that it bothered her, she stepped aside to allow her two sisters into the house. After all, it was Meredith’s house, not hers. The part that Amelia dreaded was that Meredith wasn’t here yet, the kids had just been getting off of school, so in the entire house it was her, Link and their baby; a baby they had no idea she had. “I didn’t know Meredith had another one.” And there was a light in Nancy’s eyes, some kind of love and affection that was beaming through her facial features, a finger being lifted to brush softly across the toddler’s face.
“She didn’t,” Link had come around the corner, thankfully he noticed that they showed up; her cruel sisters that he had met once, not ever wanting to be caught in another situation with them. But here he was, standing behind Amelia, a hand brushing softly across her lower back. “This is Scout. Ours.”
The love and affection that had previously been coming through her eyes was replaced with disappointment, and there was a shudder that came from Kathleen. “You had a secret baby?”
She brushes off their reactions, trying not to let it phase her because that part of her life was over; the part where she let her sisters control how she feels about herself. “This is Scout, he’s a year now,”
“Does Mom know?” Nancy asked, her eyes wide, similar to Link’s although he was shocked for opposite reasons. “How could you keep this from us? We’re family.”
Amelia’s eyes were rolling and she was irritated. “You guys lost the privilege of knowing what goes on in my life when mom chose not to come to my wedding and the last time I tried to visit you, I was humiliated.”
Nancy’s arms were being crossed in front of her chest, her eyebrow raised and she was glancing at Link, a nod in his direction. “You’ve managed not to scare him off. Aren’t we all surprised? After all, he might just be the best one yet.”
This time Link rolled his eyes, his body was tense from behind her and Amelia knew he was forcing himself from speaking up. “Forget it,” Amelia hummed, passing Scout off to Link and she was making her way to the kitchen. This conversation was over because she decided it was.
“So, Scout?” Nancy asked, now suddenly both of them had an interest in meeting her son; their nephew. Amelia doesn’t care though, she didn’t love them the same way she loved Maggie, or Meredith, she never loved them the same way she loved Derek. To her, they were just people she grew up with, people she knew, biology is utter crap and they weren’t her sisters, not to her at least.
Once Meredith arrives, she’ll let her take the matter into her own hands considering they weren’t there for her and they most definitely weren’t there for Scout. They were there for Meredith. “I’ve gotta say, I’m surprised with you, Amy.”
“It’s Amelia.” She corrected Nancy, which resulted in the older sister waving her hand off in dismissal, her attention only drawn to the baby and Link, who was being friendly as always. She wishes she was more like him, was able to put up with this kind of shit. There was a sound of a car engine coming closer before it came to a stop, meaning Meredith and the kids were home. This meant she could wander, go somewhere else in the house to hide because frankly, seeing her sisters was the last thing on her list to do for the day.
So that’s what she did, made her way up the set of stairs while Meredith greeted them, offering them coffee, tea, water, literally anything. They all agreed on coffee, but Kathleen was talking loud enough for Amelia to hear. “Is there no alcohol in this house?”

Ms. Dokkaebi - Part One
Series Summary: You are the nanny for J-Hope’s older sister Jung Ji Wo. And while you’re great with her kids, best friends with J-Hope, and considered apart of his family, you seem very rude and stand-offish when it comes to the rest of BTS. There’s a tense relationship between you and the other members but when shit hits the fan, they'll realize just how wrong they were about you. But will it be in time.?
Notes: I’m new ARMY who doesn’t know everything there is to know about BTS as individuals so I may not accurately depict them in my writings, but as a FanFic writer who’s found her new muse, i’m just jumping right into it! This was originally going to be a one shot but then I started having too many ideas and points to touch on so I’m turning it into a series. And heads up, i write longgg posts regardless. I’ll probably comb through this a few times after I post to tweak some things. Also, this is obviously written in english but imagine that they're speaking Korean. This is my first BTS fanfic,
Hope you enjoy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pairing: (Platonic) J-Hope x Reader
Summary: You've come to visit your very own personal ray of sunshine Jung Hoseok while on vacation. Despite his unbridled joy at your arrival, the other members of BTS struggle to understand how such terrifying opposites could be attracted to each other.
Warning: swearing, violence
Tumblr media
"Here, place these on the table, Canola flowers are her favorite." Hoseok wipes the remnants of soil off his hands and smiles proudly at his personal efforts. "Their train should be arriving shortly, if you still plan to meet them at the station sir." "Right, i'll leave first then. Thank you ladies." The maids bow as he gives his final nod of approval before rushing to the waiting car. "Step on it Dae-Hyun, we can't be late." "Of course sir." "Dae-Hyun," "Yes sir?" "How do I look?" The driver smiled at the multimillionaire international superstar, sweating and squirming in the backseat. "She's going to be thrilled to see you sir."
"Does that mean I don't look good?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We're here! Everyone come welcome our special guests!" Two little kids fly into the house faster than Hoseok could finish announcing their arrival. Next came their frantic mother scrambling to collect them and scold the poor manners they were presenting.
Jin gets up from sitting in the living room with both arms open wide, inviting the kids to jump into them. "It's okay Ji Wo, i've missed my little feathers." "We're not little feathers!" "Of course you are! See, I can do this!" He starts spinning around as fast as he can. Hoseok stands besides his sister smiling at his niece and nephew flying in circles. "Too fast!" "No more Ahjussi!" Jin stops spinning, "Ah-Ahjussi? Ahjussi?! Who are you calling Ahjussi? You think i'm so old that I deserve to hear such things?! Ya! You think you'll be young forever?" Jin begins tickling and shaking the two until they're begging him to stop. "You'll be my age soon and let’s see how you like being called Ahjussi! I'm not even that old!"
Jin's signature 'eldest-rant' calls the rest of the members into the living room. "I don't know Jin, i'm starting to see some grey hairs." Jungkook joins in on Yoongi's joke, "Oh, there on the sides right?" "Mm, yeah." "Stob it!"
By the time you entered the room, everyone had already shared their hello's with Ji Wo. Her kids were outside running around with Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin. Jin was still fuming over being called Ahjussi despite Namjoon's best efforts to calm him down, while Yoongi stood by doing his best to turn Jin into a talking tomato.
Busy helping his sister move the luggage to the guest house, Hoseok left your welcome party in the hands of dumb and dumber, plus one. The three kept at their bickering until Namjoon finally noticed you. You dropped two large duffel bags at your feet and wore all black, head to toe. No makeup, hair in a half-assed updo, and shoes still on after entering the home? You weren’t here to impress and currently, were not impressed either.
Namjoon straightened up his appearance before nudging Jin and Yoongi to follow suit. Yoongi hid his smile and offered a very sweet and shy apology. And while Jin was obviously embarrassed to have been caught acting so childish in front of a stranger, this fact presented a dilemma. Why was there a strange woman in his living room? An American woman, with a very unpleasant look of irritation and disapproval on her face? 'Does she not see how handsome I am?' Remembering that he was in his own home and the eldest person present, he chose an informal tone. "Ya. Who are you. How’d you get in here?" No response. The only change being your eyes now solely locked onto Jin. A slight relief to Namjoon and Yoongi. "Did you hear me? Who are you, what do you want?"
"...."
"What you don't speak Korean?"
Silence.
"Aishh," Jin put his hands on his hips, "So, You American came to Korea just to step into a Korean household and not only refuse to address your senior, to state your business, or atone for these things, but can't even speak Korean to begin with? Unbelievable." After another chance to explain yourself, yet remaining silent, Jin rolls his eyes and grabs his phone. "Fine. I'm calling security." Now you looked pleased, almost amused. Did you understand what he had said? Clearly not since you were smiling, but, did you? The three members wait with you in the deafening silence.
A couple minutes and guards storm into the room scanning for the intruder. Jin immediately starts yelling and pointing for them to take you away. Yet you don't move an inch as the guards surround you. Instead, you smile sweetly in return for their low bows. The member's are stunned as the head of security addresses you and you only. "Our apologizes for this mishap Ms. Y/n, it won't happen again." You nod, accepting his notion, and Jin couldn’t take it anymore, "What! what is this?! Who is she that she can enter my home uninvited with more authority than me?!" The guard's explanation is interrupted by Hoseok's return. "Oh good, you've met y/n!" He smiles at his friends indifferent towards the scene he interrupted. "Y/n hand me your bag i'll carry it," he gives you his other arm to escort you outside, "Ji Wo and the kids are already unpacked. I'll help you with your stuff. I made sure your room had those pillows and comforter set you really liked from last time-oh! And I have a surprise for you! I went and picked them myself, your favorite! Then we can talk about what you want for dinner tonight..." The three ‘men’, who were correctly feeling as less than such, watched you step into the guest house as if you owned that too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Explain."
"Oh good, I needed a second opinion! I like the yellow shirt but it's a bit much for dinner at home right? Then there's the blue but it doesn't compliment my eyes very well. Maybe the white one then? You can't go wrong-"
Jin slaps the shirts out of Hoseok's hands.
"No! Explain the woman who just walked into my home with zero etiquette, highjacked my home, security team, and is now downstairs with her bare feet on my coffee table!"
"So you're thinking the blue one."
"Hobi!"
"Jin can you keep it down, i'm trying to take my pre-dinner evening nap," Yoongi throws himself on the bed, "But to his point; Who is she?"
Hoseok picks up the blue shirt and pulls it on. "Uh, well that's a loaded question. I know that she can be very, well, i'm sure you've noticed,"
"Yes, continue."
"But, I guess, she's my best friend." Every remaining member bursts through the door, silently threatening him to say it again. Even Yoongi twisted his head, "The hell did this bitch say." Jin takes the lead scolding Hoseok's blasphemous comment, with the others suddenly becoming faithful followers of their beloved Ahjussi. Once finished fiddling with his shirt, Hoseok addressed the room full of crybabies. "Maybe 'best friend' wasn't the most appropriate label, but she IS someone very special to me. So please, all of you go get dressed and be ready to eat dinner in an hour. I need this to be perfect. It's important, please." He hurries out of the room to find you, leaving his very much so established and unquestionably best friends unsatisfied with his explanation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Tell me to hurry up...look nice...feet on my table!...she's the mean one...I don't even like spicy food...Will you come help me already you see me struggling!" Namjoon was certain his hands were going to fuse with his face if he listened to this for another second. He gladly stood up to help Jin with his tie, "If it'll end your ranting about y/n-"
"Stupid name"
"You met her once for five minutes; you don't even know her." "Ah, five minutes was ten minutes too long." "That still doesn't make any sense," Namjoon grumbles for the billionth time since meeting his friend, "There, done."
"And why are we wearing ties anyways? We're at home! Ji Wo's family! I'm expected to look Grammy's ready for that…that Dokkaebi!?" Yoongi sits up from Jin's bed laughing, "That what?" "When did you get there?" "Did you just call y/n a Dokkaebi? I haven't heard name calling like that since primary school." Jin charges at Yoongi shaking his finger, "You know it! You were there, both of you! You saw her smiling at us; like a blind person winking. Just, empty." A chill runs up Jin's spine that Namjoon and Yoongi have to admit they also felt. "Hear me, that goblin will only cause us problems." "You're overreacting-"
"Her.bare.feet! On.my.coffee table!"
"Look she's special to Hobi, that means she can't actually be that bad right? And again, we only met her for five minutes-" "That was ten minutes-" "DO NOT say it again it makes NO sense! We didn't make a very good first impression either, so let's consider dinner a fresh start." Namjoon and Yoongi guide a still disgruntled Jin down to dinner. They can hear the kitchen is already crowded with conversation, children laughing, and food on the stove. Namjoon takes a deep breath, "Fresh start boys. Be nice." They round the corner to see your eyes already baring deep into their souls. Jin leans into his friend’s tiger grips on him and whispers, "See, see! Some of her goblin tricks already. Evil little mi-chin nyeon-" "You sure you want to finish that sentence." Your comment draws Hoseok’s attention to his friends, "Hey guys! Come have a beer, we're almost done cooking." The trembling mice men find a safe distance from you on the other side of the island and Hoseok hands them each a drink. But Jin’s eyes never leave yours, except to make sure that the knife in your hand is still chopping vegetables and not plunging into his chest. "So, you can speak Korean." "Of course, what kind of American would I be to come all the way to Korea, enter a Korean household, and not be able to address my senior. The honor is mine, Ahjussi." You throw in a lopsided bow at the end but Jin is far from impressed. Namjoon grabs another beer, "Here we go..." Before he has the chance, Jin's attention is on his legs. "Do the funny walk!" "Yeah, the funny walk!" "Oh, I think i'm too old, now that i'm 'Ahjussi Jin'." The twins plead with him until they're disappearing down the hallway, holding on for dear life as he flails his legs as much as possible. You finish cutting the vegetables and hand them to Ji Wo at the stove. Before you have a chance, Hoseok takes the dishes from your hands, "I can clean these too y/n, you go grab a drink and hang out while Ji Wo and I finish up. Your seat is right there next to mine!" If he could walk for you he would, even if he didn't have legs himself. Annoying and embarrassing at times, like now, but at the end of the day you loved that about him; so unashamedly sweet to you like no one else would dare to be.
You go slip into your Hoseok-assigned seat at the table next to Yoongi and count how long it’ll take him to grow a pair and say what's on his mind.
"So y/n,"
27 seconds,
"how do you know Hobi?" "I work for Ji Wo." "Oh, like a secretary?" 'The fuck?,' "Or not. Then, some security guard? No! Not that i'm saying you’re manly or anything, you're very attractive-not that i'm attracted to you-NOT that there's a reason I shouldn't be!" Yoongi chokes on his words long enough for you to respond. "I'm her nanny." You see the first unpetrified emotion cross Yoongi's face since meeting, "Really? You…like, kids?" "Of course. They're adorable." He'd have an easier time believing you if you didn't look like you were recounting the hells of war. Lost on how to continue the conversation, Yoongi tries a new approach.
He moves a tray of assorted fruit towards you, "Here. Do you like fruit? We bought all of this fresh from the local market." "I already had some." "Oh. Okay, good.. Um, I love the tangerines. I bought a whole bundle...where'd they go?” Yoongi notices that his dozen of tiny orange babies are the only fruits missing from the tray. Once again your eyes were waiting for his to catch up. "Did you-" Without breaking eye contact, possibly without breathing since Yoongi’s doubting you even have a heart right now, you peel the last tangerine. You do it slow enough that if you listened closely, you could hear it crying for 'papa Yoongi' to save it. "My...you ate...all of them." The poor boy looked like he went bankrupt with a wife and kids to feed back home. Ironic maybe? He tried his best to swallow his emotions, "That's okay. You're our guest; I'm happy to share anything with-" You pop Yoongi's last little baby into your mouth and he snaps, "That's it. Who hurt you. I demand to know." A slightly sweaty Jin joins the stand-off over his friend’s shoulder with the same scowl on his face, "See...Dokkaebi." Yoongi swears his loyalty with a single word. "Dokkaebi.."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Y/n i'm going to the restroom, can you-" "Got it." "Thanks!" Ji Wo runs around the corner leaving you in charge of the children. All, of the children.
Most are taking their seats, Hoseok is practically in your lap talking your ear off, and Jin is trying to shake off the two urchins still stuck to his legs. "Please!? Where is your mother it's been hours, days even!" The twins laugh at his joke and Namjoon again tries to convince Jin that he doesn't make any sense.
"No, more more!"
"Yeah more!"
"More!"
"More! MORE!"
Hoseok eventually nudges you, "Come on y/n, enough fun, the foods going to get cold." 'We never do what I want.' You snap your fingers and point to the chairs across from you. The two tumble over each other trying to see who could be the fastest. So competitive. You were proud. "Whoa, could you train Yeontan to be that obedient?" "You calling my kids dogs." There's a slight breeze behind you that could only be from Hoseok's frantic motions for Taehyung to stop talking. "I, no...nevermind."
Ji Wo comes back and sits next to her son, "Okay, let's eat!" Everyone starts to fill their plates and converse amongst themselves. Hoseok is making your plate while you're busy making the kids'. Sitting on the other side of the twins is Jungkook. He gives himself a pep-talk until he's confident that he's about to do the right thing. Yet, across from him, Yoongi and Namjoon shoot him every desperate facial expression that they know. Whatever Jungkook is about to do, they're sure it's a bad idea. 'What are they mouthing? "Dok...Dokkaebi?" What? That doesn't make any sense.' He gives them a curt 'I got this' smile so the two give up.
'Poor bastard.'
'It's always the innocent.'
Jungkook grabs the bowl in front of him and holds it out towards you. "Y/n, I made this dish specially for you. It takes a few hours to prep and another two for cooking, but Hoseok spoke so fondly of you I knew it was worth the time." You feel the pride radiating from Hoseok when he places his hand over yours. The whole thing's silly, but you let your little sunshine have his moment. "The sauce is my grandmother's secret recipe and I made the noodles from scratch. It's always a crowd favorite when I make it. I'd love it if you had some! Let me put some on your plate." "No thanks." Jungkook stops mid-reach across the table and his doe-eyed smile falters. "I, uh, promise you'll love it. It's the best dish on the table! Please, just try it-" "You trying to kill me (?) I said no" "But-" "And I won't say it again."
A pained silence falls over the group, but nothing compares to the hurt on Jungkook's face. Defeated and humiliated, he slides back down into his chair too embarrassed to lift his head. Then, "I want some!" the little girl next to him slaps a smile back on his face. "Of course sweetie, here!" This time Hoseok and Ji Wo are the ones quick to speak up in a panic. "No hun, you can't." "Jungkook don't-"
*CLINK!*
Your eyes snap to the spoon still spilling pasta on the plate. The sound rings out and fades away without a single interference. Jungkook's frozen in fear, everyone is, as they should be. You can feel Hoseok desperately squeezing your hand, silently begging you not to cut off his friends'. Ji Wo's face is pleading the same case. You listen to Jungkook's heart beat out of his chest for a few more seconds, watch his life flash before his eyes to truly remember this moment by. Removing your hand from Hoseok's, then placing it over his, is reassurance that he and Ji Wo can stop shaking. As for everyone else, they're nothing more than deer caught in headlights. "There's shrimp in that. She, and I, are both allergic to shellfish. If you feed her that, she'll die in minutes, and then you would die in seconds. Am.I.clear." There was another silence while Jungkook struggled to keep his soul from leaving his body. He couldn't believe what he had almost done and begged forgiveness from Ji Wo, "I-I'm so sorry! I had no idea, honest I wouldn't have-" "It's okay Kook, I know that you didn't know. It was an accident," her eyes drift towards you, "right y/n."
She's weary. She can tell that you haven't calmed down, not enough at least. You take your job very seriously; you love her kids as if they were your own. And if you ever did have kids of your own, then god save us all. You really were like a second parent to the twins. The kids once asked if the two of you were going to get married some day. You and Ji Wo were both laughing your asses off until you realized that Eun had fallen out of her chair. Her face was turning purple and her throat had nearly swollen shut. She laid motionless on the floor with her eyes digging into y/n's, begging for help. But no one saw what happened and didn't know what to do. Y/n took a gamble since it was their first time having lobster and gave her her epi-pen. As relieved as Ji Wo was to hear her daughter start breathing again, it would be a few weeks for her, and you, to completely move past what happened. That was the first and only time Ji Wo had seen you so unnerved; truly afraid. And right now she saw that same memory flash over your eyes in a blinding loop. She tries again, "Y/n, it was an accident…It's okay now."
"Y/n," Hoseok's gripping your fist with both of his hands, "She didn't eat any, she's okay. Jungkook knows now, they all do. Right." Every head at the table shook furiously, but you saw none of it. Your eyes locked onto Jungkook and debated which fingers to break first.
Then you felt Hoseok's grip on you change. It loosened, and his fingers gently ran over the back of your hand, something that always forced you to relax. "Angel," One of your biggest weaknesses, "please, for me." was hearing him beg. 'And that dang pet name.' You let out all of your pent-up energy into one labored sigh, finally releasing the dinner guests as hostages. Yoongi jumps from his chair as you abruptly stand. "What did you learn Jungkook." "She's-you both!-are allergic to shellfish," poor thing had been on the brink of crying this entire time, "I swear that I will never forget it-" "No. You don't question me. Ever again."
While you're turned to grab a clean plate for Eun, "Chin-hae don't stand on your chair-!" you hear the sweetest voice back you up. "Yeah! You don't ask y/n questions!" He's all but using his sister's head as a prop while sticking his sticky finger in Jungkook's face, “giving him the business” about not asking anymore questions or trying to kill his sister again. You motion for him to sit down once you're back and shoot a wink. 'That's my boy.'
——————————————————————
"Again, Ji Wo, I am so sorry for earlier at dinner. I still feel absolutely awful about it."
"It's okay Jungkook, honestly. Y/n always carries an epi-pen for both of them. Even if Eun had eaten some, she would've been okay."
"So then, that whole "she'll die in minutes, you'll die in seconds" thing was y/n just messing with me, right?"
"Of course, no chance she'd let Eun get even close to dying."
Jungkook relaxes just enough sipping his coffee to choke on it when Ji Wo continued, “But she might still kill you, that wasn't a joke." Jimin smacks his friend's back until he settles.
After dinner, you took the twins to the guest house to get ready for bed. Everyone else stayed behind and congregated towards the living room to properly catch up with Ji Wo. Before getting married, the boys saw her around all the time. Since then, they only see her on the rarest occasions. It sucks, but that's the way it has to be.
"Anyways, thank you all for letting us stay here. I know it's not everyday you guys get the chance to go on vacation."
All of you were staying at BTS's vacation home out on Daecheong Island. Technically it was Jin's vacation home, but since he always said yes when the member's wanted to use it, no one bothered listening to his empty protests anymore.
The island is located in northern South Korea; just west of Seoul. The home was well secluded, on the coastline with plenty of space and privacy, about an hour or so from the nearest town. It was a favorite place for the boys to get away since they had true privacy while there, but could still feel like they were at home. And rarely if ever would they draw attention while in town. The locals knew who they were but lived their own lives on the island and didn't care to bother them.
Namjoon pats Ji Wo's back, "Don't worry about it. We're happy to have you." "Yeah. No filming, practices, recording schedules," Jin stretches back in his chair, "no responsibilities what so ever. Plus now, you and the little ones are here? Talk about a good time." He turns towards Ji Wo though, momentarily becoming serious, "And no one knows where we are. Promise." The rest of the group offers reassurance to Ji Wo.
Hoseok leans in close to his sister, "You didn't tell anyone where you were going right? Didn't have any issues?" She shakes her head no. Anyone else would think that the boys were worried about people finding out where they were. But Ji Wo knew the truth. They wanted to make sure no one knew where she was. Especially her children.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flashback
You remembered the first and only time that you had met Ji Wo's ex-husband. It was the twins' third birthday party and the first of many without their father. Ji Wo pulled out all the stops to try and make it as special as possible. There ended up being just enough commotion for him to sneak in through the side gate.
You'd heard plenty about how he lost custody of the twins due to his alcoholism, and how more than once it led him to put his hands on the them. Not to mention the few screws he had loose in the head. He'd never do anything less than swear he loved his children more than anything and just wanted to be a family. But after putting Ji Wo and the twins in the hospital, twice, he didn't stand a chance in court. At the final hearing he reeked of alcohol and rambled on about making Ji Wo pay for stealing his children from him. He was detained for disorderly conduct and Ji Wo won sole custody.
There wasn't a word from him after that so no one expected him to show up that day.
You didn't know what he looked like, but the new stench of alcohol in the air and screams from Chin-hae was more than enough information. "Oh come on son, I brought you a present...I think?" The drunk stumbled around trying to feel for the nonexistent gift. Every child ran to their parents as you ushered them all inside the house. Ji Wo didn't have security then, and this was the moment to change that.
Chin-hae and Eun clung to Ji Wo's legs, remembering enough of their father to be afraid. "Seo-Jun. What are you doing here." He acted genuinely offended by her comment, "Is it not my children's birthdays? Their father should be here." He staggered closer and Ji Wo struggled not to shake more than she already was. "N-No. You, should leave. The restraining order-" "TO HELL WITH THAT PIECE OF PAPER!" His outburst even made you jump. You needed to hurry and make sure everyone was safe inside before going to help Ji Wo. Only a few more people and then you would be free to kick his pasty ass.
"Seo-Jun please, you're drunk; you're scaring the kids." "Oh, well then," his posture straightens and eyes go dark, "i'm suddenly feeling very sober. No need to be scared now. Come on kids, give your dear old dad a big hug." Only a sour breath away from them and both kids were soaked in their tears. They cried "Mom no! Don't make us!" "We'll be good! PLEASE!!" "MOM!?" Ji Wo clung onto them as hard as she could without hurting them. She took two steps back for every one Seo-Jun made. "Come on guys, you're not being very nice. You can't still be mad about last time right? I said sorry. And hey! I have some new friends for you to meet." Three men entered the backyard with eyes glued to the kids. "Seo-Jun please! Don't do this!?" "Ji Wo. Honey, you know I won't ask again," he holds out his arms, "Hand them over." When the men start advancing Ji Wo drops down to her knees to shield her children as best she could. But she was crying just as hard as they were, just as terrified.
One man had his hand on Eun's flailing leg for less than a second before being drop kicked by you running at full speed. He didn't get up until the ambulance arrived. Without hesitating you go after the next one, throwing hit after hit until he falls and doesn't get up. The third pulls out a knife and you see red. Knives, real knives like these, sent you into an unstoppable rage. You had plenty of reasons to hate them, and even more to hate Seo-Jun. The man took a few swipes at you before taking a misstep and gives you the opening you need. A single move and you get ahold of the knife, toss it, and start breaking as many of his bones as possible. This wasn't just about stopping a kidnapping anymore, it was making sure they suffered as much as time allowed you.
This would be the first time Ji Wo and the kids see you fight; see you turn into a monster, "Y/n?" and Hoseok. The look on your face must have terrified him because he stumbles back before being able to focus on the situation. Hoseok runs to help Ji Wo, taking Chin-hae so the four can make a faster break for the house.
Seeing his plan go to shit, Seo-Jun makes a last ditch effort to grab at least one of the kids. He takes after Ji Wo and Eun but luckily he's a lot slower than you are. You drop the near lifeless body you'd been breaking and sprint after him. He sees you coming and his desperation overtakes logic. Seo-Jun reaches into his jacket, "You're not taking them away again bitch! Let's see how you like it!!"
*CLICK*
"Y/N!!"
*BANG!*
A silent cry forces its way out. You're hands radiating fire from the new hole in the side of it. Your panicked reflex led to sloppy technique in redirecting the barrel of the gun from Eun. you can't let it slow you down. A left hook and solid kick to the side of his knee and Seo-Jun crumbles. Working through the pain, you knock the gun out of his hand and jump on top of him, hitting him with everything you've got; every punch you know with all the strength you have left. You couldn't feel anything from your right hand up to your elbow, 'guess I'll just have to keep going until it comes back.'
-
You don't know how long it's been, could be minutes maybe only seconds, but Seo-Jun had stopped moving. You know that you should probably quit now, but hearing Eun scream for you a moment ago was far too close to home. You knew that sound; you're brother made that sound. And the more you remembered it, the more it seemed this high you were on would never end. You didn't want it to. You hated Seo-Jun for everything he's done and for everything he reminded you of. The life you fought through Hell to escape from. If he lived through this, you swore you'd finish him off for good one day.
Your ears were still ringing from the gunshot but a voice fought it's way through. "y/n...Y/N! You have to stop! It's okay now! You need to calm down! Please!" If Hoseok would be honest with himself, he was too afraid of you to do more than scream from a safe distance, let alone try and touch you. The way you weren't letting up on Seo-Jun's body even for a moment. He looked over at the man you had been beating up when he arrived. His body was crumpled and folded over like a distorted carcass. It was inhumane; indigestible. He knew parts of your past but seeing it manifest in front of him? he didn't imagine being this afraid of you. Would you ever hurt him? How thin was this line you toed? Did he know you at all- "AHH-!"
*BANG!*
Hoseok doesn't move when blood splatters across his face. He can't even will his tears the courage to fall. He had been too lost in thought to realize the second man you attacked had gotten up. How he had only been step or two away from him, gripping his partners knife. He didn't notice how swiftly you turned and shot him with Seo-Jun's gun. Square between the eyes without blinking your own. You killed a man without hesitation, totally relaxed with zero remorse.
The only thing strong enough to pull you out of your rampage was someone you loved being in harms way. No amount of rage could trump the urge to protect them, and only once they were safe would you feel yourself come back to earth. You stood up, back in reality, but Hoseok was still lost in the clouds. Only a few moments ago he was debating the origins of your soul, now he knew you were his guardian angel. If not for you he would be a pile of sliced meat right now, or Ji Wo, or even the twins. They could have been taken like Seo-Jun wanted or worse, also like Seo-Jun wanted. Ji Wo was helpless to stop it and he arrived too late regardless. You knew all of this already, that's why you fought for them. With all of your heart you protected Hoseok's family; his whole world, and now him too. He'd never be able to repay you.
"D.I.P.D.! Drop the gun! Hands up both of you!"
"Backyard is secure."
"Roger that. Civilians are all accounted for and inside of the home is secure."
"We've got four bodies; call for another ambulance." "Yes sir."
"Check for pulses and take those two into custody already!" "Sir!"
The next month was nothing but back to back court hearings, being shuffled to and from your holding cell, and meeting with lawyers before and afterwards. Everyone who was at the birthday party had to testify in court, then they were free to go. But almost every one stayed throughout the entire trial. Your motives weren't lost on them; they knew what a monster Seo-Jun was and it was obvious what he was there to do. Each testimony painted you as the selfless hero who saved the day. Mounted against Seo-Jun was a multitude of eye witness testimonies, means and motive, forensic evidence, the crime scene report, and the irrefutable security camera footage. Seo-Jun's remaining accomplices got 18 months by accepting a plea deal while Seo-Jun himself received 3 years, eligible for early release after 2 on good behavior.
Normally with the amount of evidence against Seo-Jun, this case would have been open and shut in a matter of days. But in private you were being psychologically evaluated and cross examined by both teams and the judge personally, to determine your own fate. Your personal file, although sealed from the public and PI Investigations, had to be taken into consideration. In the end you were cleared of all charges and free to go. If anyone asked, the delay in your release was due to some "administrative issue with the paperwork or whatever" and so you spent that time just sitting in your cell counting sheep.
During your release, "We know who Seo-Jun is y/n. Be careful," the judge leans in close as you walk past her and whispers, "stay close to those kids." That decided your fate, whatever that may come to be. This wasn't over; Seo-Jun would be back, so not a day would go by that you weren't by their sides.
You were prepared for the worst when you saw the Jung's again. You thought they'd call you a monster and tell you to stay away. But tears poured from your eyes when Chin-hae and Eun crashed into your legs and refused to let you leave them again. Ji Wo's hug surprised you most, you two had never hugged before. She immediately hired you as the kids' personal bodyguard but if anyone asked you were their nanny. (A secondary role you fell into). She moved you into one of the spare bedrooms of her new undisclosed address and location home, just down the hall from the kids' rooms. She told you to do what you want with the room; paint it, rearrange it, knock out a wall, you name it. Then gave you a personal black card to use how you like. You told her it was all too much, trying to remain humble and modest, but it just made her cry. She couldn’t comprehend how else she could repay you for what you did for her and the kids, not that she felt this even amounted to enough.
Next you hand picked her new security detail. Each candidate had to fight you in hand-to-hand combat as the final test, and whoever didn't go down in 30 seconds made the cut. One of them managed to land a hit and became head of security, also your fill in whenever you weren't around.
Hoseok hadn't come around the first few days after your release. 'Why would he, he saw what I can really do. What i'm really like.' Ji Wo would tell you not to worry or think too much, that he probably just needed a bit more time to process some things.
You woke up on morning and were instantly suspicious, "What?" Ji Wo just kept smiling ang giggling to herself on the couch, "Oh, nothing. Just a funny book." "You're not reading a book-" "Oh the door! I wonder who that could be." You turn to the guard stationed in the main hallway, "She hasn't been drinking has she?" "No ma'am."
Ji Wo prances back into the room, "It's for you!" then off into the kitchen. "Ji Wo I know you're pretending; you haven't cleaned a single dish in 6 years." "Just go to the door?!" You shuffle down the hall, "I hope your mystery guest doesn't mind me looking like hell!"
"They don't,"
you stop.
"They think you always look pretty great actually."
"Hoseok..."
He stood at the door holding your favorite flowers and dressed to the nines, "What is this, what are you doing?" He stepped through the threshold, "Can I come in? I don't want to end up like the last guy who didn't ask you." His joke was stupid and inappropriate but he laughed like a goofball all the same. You tried to smile but couldn't stop the frown from forming. You look down at your feet suddenly feeling ashamed and embarrassed in front of Hoseok. He closes the door and puts down the flowers. He holds your hands in his, "What's wrong?" "Nothing I," 'I was afraid you hated me,' "I just missed you. You haven't been around since..." The words were stuck in your throat and you were at a loss at how to get them out. "I thought..." He understood, "Hey no, no. I'll admit I did need some time to process what happened but, I could never..." 'I'm not afraid of you,' He cupped your face and lifted it to make sure you heard this next part, "I owe you my life y/n. You saved all of us, and that's not something that a bad person would do. I could never be afraid of you; I love you." You wiped a stray tear and playfully punched Hoseok in the shoulder, "Hobi don't," "What? I don't mean like that!" You both laughed. It was a relief to feel like things were back to normal between the two of you.
"You know what I mean." "Yeah I do. I love you too Hoseok. Now seriously, what is all of this; what's with the get up?" "Oh, well I was worried that you might be feeling a little down so I wanted to treat you to a day out! Starting with breakfast at that fancy restaurant you like." "The one with the giant fish tank? And we get to pick out which fish we want to eat?!" "Yes now hurry up and go get dressed, our reservation's in 45 minutes." Your sprint towards your room looked the exact same as the twins. Passing the kitchen you hear Ji Wo, "He's feeding you isn't he." "YUP! My favorite!" “Bring me back some-" "Absolutely not!"
20 minutes later and you're speeding back down the stairs dressed and ready to go. "There's no need to pull me out the door like this! We have a reservation; we won't have to wait to eat-"
"But all the good fish could already be gone! I want one so fat and juicy it has rolls!"
"Fish don't have rolls-y/n you're drooling on my sleeve-Ew it's on my hand! Let go already!"
You shove his body into the car and jump in after him, "Let's go Dae-Hyun! Get us there in 10 minutes and i'll get you whatever you want to eat." "Deal."
"Don't you mean i'll get him-?"
"Not now Hoseok I have to focus. Momma's going fishing."
Hoseok rolls his eyes at your theatrical evil grin, "For someone with a shellfish allergy you're too excited to eat fish."
"What can I say, I go wherever the spirits lead me."
"You're not spiritual."
"I am when they lead me to fish."
End of Flashback
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good night honey. Sweet dreams." You had already finished tucking Chin-hae into bed and now it was his sisters turn. "Sweet dreams y/n. You'll be here when I wake up right?" "Always." You kiss her forehead and turn off the lights when you leave. You went down the hall to your room to change into something more comfortable before heading back out to the main house. Security had already been stationed around the guest house, so you felt okay leaving the twins here alone for a while. On your way out, you passed by the kid's room once more, 'Eun must have been really tired. How has her snoring never woken up Chin-hae before.’
You smile thinking about those rascals on your walk back to the main house.
Jung Chin-hae and Jung Eun.
Your favorite people in the whole world. A fact that hurt Hoseok's feelings even though he felt the same way. He never knew if because of his lifestyle, he would ever actually find true love, get married, and have children of his own. So his niece and nephew were the closest that he was going to get, and he loved them with all of his heart.
Ji Wo chose Chin-hae's name because it means 'depth of the ocean.' Going to the beach and being on the water was something that she craved constantly while she was pregnant with them. It was her escape and sense of peace while she faced struggles in her personal life. She had recurring dreams about sailing off with her children, away from their problems, and starting new lives as mermaids living happily in the sea. When they were born Chin-hae came out first, technically making him older, and it's how he acted. He was a textbook caring and protective big brother to his sister. His emotions could sometimes get the better of him (as demonstrated at dinner) but he had the biggest heart and was so thoughtful. Especially when it came to Eun.
Eun's name was chosen without a second thought. As soon as she opened her eyes, she looked up at Ji Wo with shining silver eyes. As beautiful as they were, there was concern. The doctors did some tests and found out that Eun was colorblind. They explained, in laymen's terms, that the parts of the eye that perceived color hadn't developed and therefor lacked pigment. That's why her eyes looked silver, and how Ji Wo chose her name.
When the two got older, Ji Wo tried explaining that Eun was colorblind, but Chin-hae didn't understand and thought that she meant Eun was completely blind. This misunderstanding created many memories that you'll never forget. You laugh to yourself thinking about one of your favorites. Chin-hae was constantly by his sister's side since learning that she was 'blind'. He was always holding her hand, trying to do everything for her, even tried brushing her teeth every now and then. One time you had called them to dinner but heard the two yelling at each other in the other room.
"Careful Eun! You have hold my hand, there's a step, you'll fall!"
"No I won't! I do it myself!"
"You can't! You're blind!"
"Nu uh! I see you!"
"No! You not see anything!"
Eun gasped, "I not see you?"
"No!"
She immediately started bawling her eyes out, "No oppa, I not see you!"
Chin-hae did his best to comfort her and grabbed her hand, "Hush Eun, it's okay. You always just hold me, like this."
He walked her over to the table and sat like nothing had happened but you couldn't wait to relay it all to Ji Wo. It was the sweetest thing watching him make her plate and then try to feed her. Ji Wo had to explain things a few more times before they finally understood what she meant. Even so, he still describes every color that he sees to her whenever she asks. You often daydream that that's how things could have been with you and your brother.
You let the bitter-sweet memory fade away when you enter the living room and take a seat next to Hoseok. ‘Of course he was saving me a seat next to him.’ He nuzzles himself into your side and carries on talking about the upcoming festival on the island. No one listens to a word he says because how could they? Did he just willingly throw himself into the lions den? What were you going to do they thought,
‘is she going to gouge out his eyes?’
‘Stab him for invading her space?’
‘Pull out his hair?’
‘Use his bones to make her bread-? Oh wait no that’s Shrek.’
Your only reaction though is to put your arm around him and listen to his rambling about this festival. You never bored of your ray of sunshine. You could always count on him to lift you up or calm you down. Of everyone you knew, no one was able to explain how the two of you could be so close. With seemingly nothing in common, you were total opposites and not in a cute Christmas romcom type of way. But maybe that was why you loved him so much.
The expectation is that the people who’d like you would look just as scary, be just as off putting, just as much a monster as you knew you really were. Yet it was someone like Hoseok to welcome you into his life. He saw the sliver of a good heart that you still had and spoke life into it.
“You’ll never leave us again.”
“We owe you our lives.”
“You’re not a bad person.”
“I love you y/n.”
Even though you weren’t into holding hands, snuggling on the couch, or going to whatever festival Hoseok was talking about, you’d do it for him. For all of them. So you let him snuggle into your side while you run your fingers through his hair like he liked, and Hoseok plays with your free hand. “-that sound good to you y/n?”
‘God knows what he’s talking about’
“Yeah sounds good Hobi.”
