its kinda amazing how out of the general bio parental unit for marlow and valerie, the murderer is the one who wouldve been the best parent
#vincent wasnt always gonna suck but ngl he just got soured the more and more i was seeing like#buuut overtime i leaned more into the idea that hes like. really absent in actuality#and marlow only really idealizes the image of him and pushed out the bad memories#and cant do that with his mom bc well. vincent died for him in the ene#end#also kinda want to paint vincents death as like a point of turmoil for marlow that hed never admit#where part of him is like. ‘’how dare you die for me when you barely even raised me. did you love me but not like me?’’#‘’you couldnt comfort me or hold me when you were alive but you could traumatize me with your death?’’#but he never admits it. bc he wants his father to have been that person who couldve made everything ok#frost wouldnt have gone off the deep end if he didnt die. he and aisling wouldve been ok mentally#but really none of that is true#bc at the end of the day frost was always kinda nasty and vincent enabled that at best and participated at worst#he wasnt the main perpetrator but he was no help either. hes better but he didnt protect marlow#vincent haunting the narrative in the worst way possible#echoed voice
