man. cloudstar is really such a tragic character. he did everything he could. he tried and tried. but in the end none of that really mattered, did it? doomed and cursed by the narrative
#cicada blabs#cicada's reread#and it's not even that he doomed himself by not asking for help sooner#if the other clans weren't willing to spare even a little bit when he had nothing left#why would they be willing to spare something when he did have something left?#i remember feeling so bad for him as a kid#and yeah. i still do.#he wanted the best for his clan. he wanted them to be safe and happy and healthy#but he was denied that. his entire clan was denied that#and starclan did absolutely nothing#it does make me wonder what was going on up there#i don't remember if any books ever show that#clearly enough of them didn't care#but it does make me wonder what actually happened up there#anyway i really like the part where he renounced starclan. that was super cool#i love it when characters in this series go ''actually FUCK starclan''. or even just doubt them like nightstar did#it's good. i love it#and man cloudstar really just said fuck you to them#and good for him#he deserves to#could he have done more? idk. maybe. but i think it would always end the same way
