i’m so late but i was tagged by @carryonmylovelies and @rareandbeautifulthing for the writing tag!
ao3 name: simonsrosebud
fandoms: Carry On, All For The Game, and i used to write mostly Harry/Louis before the other two came into my world. I still find myself writing larry but not posting it.
trope: oh gosh. high school, fake dating, neighbors, work together, parenting/single parent, competition (like oh we both own coffee shops on the same street), roommates, the typical holiday ones like xmas, vampires and mermaids if i’m feeling some fantasy. i’m not one to go for super long ones if i know there’s angst, i’m not an angst girl. if it’s Andriel then i go hardcore for the like mobster shit and like the ones where they’re in college but things happen differently or smth idk Andriel i LOVE the danger shit bc uh hellO who wouldn’t.
number of fics: 24 on ao3 (i regret a good amount of them i think?). sitting in my google drive? 102 different ideas. some are pages on pages long, some are 4 paragraphs😭. some of them have multiple documents in a folder bc i get distracted and create a whole backstory and like little details that u don’t rlly need on a diff doc, or i’ll get bored and be like ugh i just wanna skip way ahead and write them in this scenario.
fics i spent the most time on: i’m gonna assume this means most recently and that will make it my unnamed au where andrew and neil adopt a 10 year old. it’s not as much of a fluent story than it is different milestones or moments idk. out of the ones on my ao3, though, def soft rains.
fics i spent the least time on: im now realizing this whole list of questions only pertain to my ao3 and not other fics i have duh. i’d have to say my quarantine round robin. i kept it short and sweet bc i was struggling w writing the week i did it and i didn’t want it to get off track and off topic
longest fic: soft rains, 19,794 and still going
shortest fic: bouquets, 609 words from carry on countdown 2018
most hits/kudos/comment threads/bookmarks:
hits: caught like a deer in the headlights, 10,989
kudos: caught like a deer in the headlights, 598
comment threads: 107
bookmarks: 35 on soft rains
total word count: 102,322
favorite fic i wrote: okay so none of them
are posted anywhere but my favs are my OC ab two college boys one from alabama the other from pennsylvania idk, andriel adopting a kid one, and another new andriel high school witchcraft one. they’re all unnamed oh well.
fic you want to rewrite/expand on: i rlly wanna finish my hogwarts snowbaz one and my snowbaz taking in an orphaned magician. they’re both on my ao3
share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: this is from my andriel high school magic au. one of my fav scenes so far bc andrew ain’t lettin this kid boss him around. background for this scene: neil grew up in europe instead aka butcher of birmingham not baltimore. twins/nicky/erik move to colorado, andrew had quietly called neil wesninski to his face the other day, neil doesn’t know how he knows who he is.
Speaking of, Nathaniel showed up at Andrew's locker almost quicker than Andrew himself. “How do you know my name?”
There were so many waters to test with Nathaniel. So many mysteries. But Andrew couldn’t scare him off too soon and decided to test his German. “I was in Stuttgart the summer when the infamous Butcher of Birmingham was found by police, dead with his son chained up in his basement.”
Nathaniel's eyes darted around. He stayed quiet for too long. Andrew closed his locker and walked away. If Nathaniel really was who he was- and he was, then Andrew had no faith in his ability to walk away from what felt like the only person in his safe little town to know his truth. Andrew doubted he'd let him walk-
“Wait!” He was fast and at his stride in an instant, but then again Andrew was in no hurry. Nathaniel reached for Andrew’s wrist to bring him to a stop-
“No.”
Nathaniel froze with his fingers outstretched and dropped his hand to his side.
Huh.
Andrew stared Nathaniel in the face and couldn't help but wonder. Submissive? Or smart?
He spoke in German again. “I would consider repeating myself, but I know that you understood me.”
Nathaniel huffed. “It didn't happen in Stuttgart,” he said in hushed German. Ah, right again.
“No. News gets around, however, when you've been staying in the lucky city to host the one and only Wesninski heir only a few dear weeks before he got caught.”
They.
Nathaniel was bad at keeping his temper or mouth at bay when he didn't have his mother to slap him for getting mouthy. But if Andrew knew where Nathaniel lived and when then there was no telling how many others knew. He thought they'd kept their trails hidden. And his past wasn't something he wanted making its way around town, either.
The only thing keeping him from grabbing Greyfield’s new blonde by the shoulders and demanding he tell him everything he knew and how, were the other students packing the hallways.
“How did you know I lived there? Or that I spoke German?”
Andrew could tell that he was irritated and itching. It was… interesting. “How did you know anything about my magic?”
Nathaniel’s ears were red. “My magic is more powerful than most.”
“That wasn’t magic, that was you going through my brain.”
Nathaniel shrugged. “I can read people through their magic if I touch them. Magic has its own senses, too.”
Andrew pushed his finger into Nathaniel’s chest. “Do it again and I will kill you.”
“Don’t care, answer my questions, now.”
Andrew narrowed his eyes the tiniest bit and “I will answer one. Rephrase it.”
“How did you know who I was?”
“You see, as someone with an unfortunately impeccable memory, it's hard to forget a face like that, even with the changes.” He was referring to the scars and hair color. “It would have been impossible for you to get a job at a library had you not been able to speak enough.”
Nathaniel shifted. He didn’t remember Andrew, or if he ever came to the library. He didn’t pay attention to people when he was on the run. Noticing people meant being noticed back. “We met before.”
Andrew looked impassive and didn’t answer.
