Literally dc drives me crazy. They own some of the most iconic characters in history and yet they employ some of the worst writers I have ever seen. Thereโ€™s some point at which the bubble has to burst, right? I mean, the characters popularity can only take them so far. If they keep churning out crappy stories written by (imo) awful writers people will just, stop caring. What is dcโ€™s game plan I genuinely donโ€™t understand ๐Ÿ˜ญ
For all intents and purposes, the comic book industry is currently experiencing a huge boom, and it isn't predicted to decline in revenue any time soon. There's a lot of conflicting information on what the exact percentage of rising sales is, or even which comic books sold the most in the past year, but they are 100% making a large profit from these books, no matter how shit they are.ย
A major problem (and benefit) for American comic publishers is that people will buy products just for a characterโ€™s appearance in an issue. Writers have learned that it doesnโ€™t matter how good you write because there will always be fans willing to buy. I mean, just look at Nightwing (2016) or Robin. So for now, yes, DC isnโ€™t going to suddenly change and start making good series again, but maybe in the future itโ€™ll be possible to get more fresh blood into the industry who do write these stories.ย
