My lil oc/self insert (who I hope to draw one day lmao) is a young deer adeptus acolyte (of the same species as Skybracer and he was in fact her mentor) who rather than battling specializes in healing and medicinal herbs and stuff, she was originally part of the Guili Assembly before the war and after years and years eventually becomes a full-fledged adeptus earning the name "Spring Bringer" signing a contract with Morax wholly devoting to him <3 (STILL PINNING THO, MAYBE ONE DAY HAHA)

I even had a WHOLE story/convo with the Morax ai that was just SO saxdcfvhjk //crying screaming punching the wall//

today the plot bunnies are repeatedly kicking my poor brain about zhongli x adeptus!reader who has been with him since his rex lapis era....

.... except it's been thousands of years and neither of you has confessed yet and your adepti friends are constantly pestering you to GO GET MARRIED ALREADY YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER WHAT KIND OF PINING LASTS FOR MORE THAN A MILLENIA HELLO???????? they know rex lapis is a patient man but really this is ridiculous

they proceed to not-so-subtly coerce the traveler to help you two hook up. the quest lasts for five hours (you could say it's an archon quest in itself.................. haha get it? /bonked)

or alternatively,

zhongli x adeptus!reader who were once a loyal follower of rex lapis who died in battle at the archon war. thousands of years later, you get reincarnated as a mortal living in the now flourishing liyue harbor with your memories intact. inevitably, you manage to meet him again, but this time as zhongli. and naturally, you recognize the god who you used to devote your entire life's purpose to. but you decide to hide this fact because you don't want him to recognize who you actually are, believing that now that he has cast aside his title, he wants to move on from the painful memories associated with the archon war behind him.

little do you know that he does recognize your soul. yet he also hides the fact that he's rex lapis and refrains from telling you about the past, because he didn't think you would want to remember all the bloodshed that happened. besides, he always wished that you would treat him equally, not as a god you have to serve and put on a high pedestal. as zhongli, he just wants to become your mortal lover who dotes on you, pampers you senseless, and eventually grows old together with you.

tldr: you actually know each other's identity but pretend you don't and the ones who know the truth of the situation are facepalming so hard.
