Post s2, Jinx travels the world (what’s the name?? Runeterra?? Right?) and cons her way into free rooms and food by claiming her name is Caitlyn Kiramman. Look me in the eye and tell me I’m wrong. Piltover became a global trading post and the Kirammans were already a wealthy and renowned family before. Being Jayce’s sponsor and Piltover being put on the map bc of Hextech and Caitlyn being dictator leader of Piltover for some time also made her name carry a bit of weight. But no one’s really seen her??? All they know is she’s pretty and has blue hair. Jinx just plays the dead mom card when being questioned (“I just had to see some of the world…as my mother always talked about when she was still alive…😔”) and people just let her be and give her what she wants.
Stories of the odd Kiramman girl spreads all the way back to Piltover and people make jokes at Caitlyn and Vi and they’re just like “???? Wtf are you talking about??” And then people have to explain and that’s how Vi finds out her sister is still alive, bc she’s shitting all over the Kiramman name by just. Being her. And pretending to be Caitlyn. While being herself. “Caitlyn Kiramman” isn’t as fearsome as it was before anymore bc now people just associate the name with Jinx and her chaos rather that the Caitlyn Kiramman

To Build a Home - Bucky Barnes x Pregnant!Reader
To Build a Home - Bucky Barnes x Pregnant!Reader
Summary: Going baby shopping should be a great idea? Right? But things take a turn. You share a cute moment with Bucky as you read the pregnancy book he claims he bought for you. This ends with a moment with you and Bucky in the baby room.
Word Count: 3400
Warnings: Fluff, also a hint of insecurities and thinking about the past. Pregnant!Reader
a/n: This is Part 2 to my one shot. Read part one “Turning Page- Bucky Barnes x Reader” Anyhow, Part two will be taking place when you are 6 months pregnant. You and Bucky get a little bit of help from some friends. Also, I would like to apologize for the first section of this, it might hurt a bit.
Tumblr media
Five months later
Blue, Pink, Red, Purple, you could see every color of the rainbow on all four store walls.
Steve thought it was a great idea for you, Wanda, and Bucky to go to a baby store. You and Wanda were so excited to go and look at baby items. Meanwhile, Bucky's face was blank as a ghost. Even though it has been five months since him finding out you were pregnant, it still catches him by surprise that he'll be a dad in a couple of weeks.
In the store, Bucky and Steve were together looking at furniture since they were the 'strong one' out of the group. Meanwhile, you and Wanda were looking at baby clothes, plushies, blankets, and decorations. Without hesitation, you gravitated more towards the boy section than the girl section. Even though you and Bucky wanted to wait until they were born to find out their gender, deep down, you knew they are a baby boy. The first thing you get is a pair of suspender top and bottom set that came with a bowtie. The shorts were the color khaki and the shirt was light blue. You turn to Wanda to show her what you found. "Look what I found for him." your heart filled with joy and happiness. You had a soft smile on your face.
Wanda grabs the piece that you were holding and places it against your stomach "he is going to look handsome" she smiled and scrunched her nose. She was truly happy for you and glad that you picked her to help you throughout this journey.
Across the store, where the furniture was located, Bucky and Steve were looking at furniture. Bucky was tense; he wasn't sure if he wanted to be there looking at baby items. He stared at the same baby crib for the past 3 minutes when Steve notices that he wasn't doing anything "hey, is everything alright?" he pauses to place his hand on Bucky's shoulder. "I know this is new to you and something you least expected to happen. But you deserve this."
Bucky started to shake his head, and slowly tears form in his eyes "are you sure about this, Steve?" his voice gets small and shaky. "Just a decade ago, I was murdering people without my own will. Do I deserve this happiness? What if they don't like me because of my past?" His lips were trembling as if he were to let out a sob- but he never did. His nose twitched as his mouth suddenly became agape, and he drew in a breath of air sharply, turning his neck towards the entrance. He started to pull on the sleeve of his left arm, trying to cover his metal hand. "I can't do this. I need to get out of here" He rushes out of the furniture section towards the store's entrance.
Wanda notices that Steve and Bucky were walking fast out of the store. Steve gives her a look and holds up a finger. She tried reading his mind to see what was going on, but all she caught was "give me a moment to calm him down, he had a panic attack" she had a concerned look on her face, but she knew Steve would be able to handle it.
You notice that Wanda had a concerned look on her face as she wasn't paying attention to what you were saying. "Wanda, are you okay?" a frown formed on your face as you were looking around the store looking for Bucky. He was gone. "Where is he?" you raise your voices a bit. "Wanda, where is he?" you were demanding her to give you an answer. She points towards the entrance. You gave her the clothes that you were holding. You sped walk towards the door.
Outside of the store, Bucky was sitting on the floor, knees by his chest, heavy breathing, hiding his face from the outside world. You could hear Steve trying to calm him down, telling him things that would usually calm him, but this time it was different. Steve notices that you were there and gets near you to hug you. He leans forward "are you sure about this? I tried everything I could. He hasn't been able to calm down," he whispers into your ear. Letting go of his hug, you have a brief smile and a nod. He walks back to the store to find Wanda and let her know what is happening.
You kneel, placing your hands on his knees. You were now able to hear how heavy he was breathing. “Bucky?” you slowly move your thumb against his knee, trying to calm him down “what’s wrong, my love? What’s going on?” he lifts his head and looks at you, his face red and his eyes puffy from the crying he had been doing for the past couple of minutes. Moving your hand from his knee, you place it on his cheek, wiping the tears from his face using your thumb. “hey, hey, Bucky, it’s okay” Your eyebrows knit together. You hated seeing him like this.
“I don’t deserve this happiness, not after everything I’ve done” his lips were quivering, his voice became small “they aren’t going to like me. I’m just a monster.” tears falling down his cheeks. He pulls you in, holding you, wrapping his arms around you. He was sobbing on your shoulder. Now the material of your shirt was soaking wet. “I’m sorry. I’m so-“
You interrupt him. “James, what you did. That wasn’t you, that was never you. One thing I’ll tell you is that you deserve every little inch of happiness; you deserve to be happy.” You take a pause holding him tighter and trying to stop your voice from being shaky. “I know this is scary. I’m scared as well. But one thing I know for sure is that even though we will try to be the perfect parents in the world, we aren’t going to be, and that’s okay. They are going to love us and our imperfections” you gently pull away, still holding him in your arms, you softly press your lips against his forehead to calm him down.
You held him for a couple of minutes. You wanted to make sure that he was okay. There was silence between the two of you, but you didn't mind. Within minutes, his heartbeat slowed, and he started to breathe normally. He turns his head, giving you a brief kiss on your cheek. “I appreciate you so much, doll” he takes a big gulp before continuing talking. “Should we ditch them and go somewhere else?” a soft giggle escapes his mouth. “I’m kidding. Let’s go and pick things for our little one.”
With your sleeve, you wipe the tears from his face. He grabs your wrist and stops you from continuing. He brings the palm of your hand and softly kisses it, then he lets go of it, so you can continue.
As he was getting up, he helped you get up as well. He was grabbing your hand and pulling you upward. Every little move that he has done with you, he has tried his best not to hurt you.
You both stood outside holding one other for a couple of minutes until you were able to notice that Bucky’s face didn’t look like he had been crying for the past couple of minutes.
Once you walked into the store, it was fast to locate Steve and Wanda, as Steve had a pile of clothes over his shoulder, a mixer of girl and boy clothes. And Wanda with a cart full of baby items. “Are you sure we are having a baby and not them?” you and Bucky were in synch “jinx, no, you jinx.” you both said that once again. This caused you and him to laugh out loud. Wanda turns around and rushes with the cart in your direction. She seemed like a little kid showing their parents the toy she had just found. Steve was getting the clothes that were on his shoulder, placing them all in his arms.
Once Wanda was near you, her face lit up as bright as a firework. “I and Steve both agreed that for this trip, we are buying all of this plus whatever you guys want.” Wanda was breathing heavily, trying to catch her breath “consider this as an early baby shower gift” she starts pulling out items from the cart and showing you her favorite items. Once Steve got to where you all were, he dumps the pile of clothes in the cart. “Steve! I was still showing her thing” she rolled her eyes, and this made Bucky and Steve laugh.
Steve looks at Bucky. “I’m guessing you are feeling better, aren’t you” Bucky gives him a brief smile and nods.
You grab Bucky’s hand and start to walk towards the furniture section. You pointed at a white three-in-one convertible crib “Honey, We should get this one” your voice was small yet soft with sparkles in your eyes. A smile formed on his face, and he nodded in agreement. Anything that you liked, he would usually like it as well.
-----------------------------------------------
What a long day today was, you thought to yourself. You were now home resting. Wanda, Steve, and Bucky made sure to put everything away in the baby room.
Every little chance that Bucky gets, he can't keep his hands off of your stomach. He wanted to be there for everything, the first kick, the first movement they ever make. He didn't want to miss anything.
You were sitting on the bed, back against the headboard, reading a pregnancy book that Bucky decided to buy for you. He bought it for himself since he wanted to be prepared for everything that might happen. But he is too stubborn to admit it, so he bought the book for you.
Bucky was sitting right next to you, laying his head on your right shoulder, trying to read along to what you might be on. His right hand placed on your stomach, moving in a circular motion.
Page 34
Around 18 weeks of pregnancy, your little one hears their very first sounds. By 24 weeks, those little ears are rapidly developing. Your baby's sensitivity to sound will improve even more as the weeks pass.
"Did you know that he can hear you already?" you asked. You were looking down at him, and his ocean blue eyes were looking back at you. You pointed to the location where it stated that they were able to hear at certain weeks.
With a small smile on his face and his left eyebrow risen "he? I think they are a girl" he giggles a little "but if my baby girl says we are having a boy, then I believe it's time for me and him to have a one-on-one talk" he leans in forward to kiss you on your cheek.
He slow removes the blanket that was covering your stomach and kisses your stomach, placing his right hand on your lower stomach. “hey, I don’t think mommy can hear us,” he was whispering while looking up to you. You had a smile on your face while you shacked your head. “I can’t wait to have you in my arms, little Leo” he pauses for a moment and has the biggest smile on his face, “When you grow up, I’m going to tell you so many stories about my adventures with your uncle Steve and uncle Sam. I can’t forget about those stories with your beautiful, strong, amazing mommy” He looks up at you with a smirk on his face. You started running your fingers through his hair, feeling how soft it was. “Leo, could you believe it that right now, the world is a crazy place to be at? But at this moment, you are safe in there. Mommy and daddy will always keep you safe. No matter what happens, we will always protect you.”
He moves back to where he was resting his head on your shoulder, not moving his right arm from where it was located. “How was your talk with baby-“you pause for a moment, trying to process what just happened. “Leo?”
Bucky looks at you, slightly shaking his with left eyebrow rose. It looked like he had a soft disappointed face. “Doll, you weren’t supposed to listen to me and him having a boy talk” he stops shaking his head, and gradually a smile on his face started to form. “Yeah, Leo. I’ve always liked the name Leo” he paused, and a small frown started to show. “You don’t like it. If you don’t, we can-“
Pressing your lips against his forehead, you interrupt him. You knew what he was going to say “No, I love the name, Leo.” It seemed like he had read your mind. That was the name that you had a plan on naming your future baby boy. Removing your lips against his skin and a soft giggle escapes your lips “so are you planning on telling him about your little rolling over with Sam that one time?”
Bucky looks up to you, and he had an offended look on his face. “I’m certainly not telling him that,” he pauses to place his head back on your shoulder. “There are things he doesn’t need to know, and that is one of them.”
Out of a sudden, you can feel a sharp pain on your lower stomach where Bucky’s hand was placed. This caught him by surprise. “Did Leo just kick?” you can feel the excitement from his voice. You giggled a little in agreement “he kicks hard, aww, he is a strong boy. Just like his daddy” his voice went high pitched as he was talking towards your stomach.
Minutes pass by from the last time they kicked, and Bucky felt every little kick they did. It pained you but seeing him and the reaction he had on his face. The amusement written all over Bucky’s face was worth it, the pain they caused you. You have always thought of naming your baby girl Rebecca. You have liked that name for years. Also, you knew how close Bucky was to his sister, and you wanted her to be named by someone he holds dear to his heart.
You take a deep breath, unsure if you wanted to say anything. “Honey, if we have a baby girl. What are your thoughts on the name Rebecca?” you tense up a little, not knowing what other words to say. “I know how much your sister meant to you, and I just thought that-“
Bucky looks up at you and places his hand on the back of your head, pulling in you. Pressing his lips against yours, he gently and carefully kissed you. Pulling away from your lips, he had the biggest smile on his face. “Doll, I love that” He moves his hand from the back of your head to your lower stomach once again. “Rebecca isn’t allowed to date until she is 30,” he laughs, scrunching his nose. He loved that you considered naming her Rebecca. Bucky never thought about naming her that. He slowly moves his hand in circular motions. “Our little princess is going to be such a beautiful little girl, just like her mom.”
--------------------------------------
“Come on, cyborg, use your metal arm. You have it there for a reason.”
“Do you think that most of the time I remember that I have a metal arm? I’m fucking right-handed, Sam, not left-handed.”
“I swear to god if you guys wake her up. I am going to quit. Buck finish building the crib, and Sam paint the wall.”
Suppose the walls couldn’t be any thinner. You could hear Sam, Bucky, and Steve arguing in the room next door. You lay in bed for a couple of more minutes just listening to them. You were covering your mouth, trying your best not to burst into laughter. Before getting up, you took big breaths trying to control your laughter.
As you were opening the door, you notice Steve leaving the baby room. “See what you both idiots did? You woke her up” he sounded annoyed and irritated. He walks into the kitchen, grabbing his cup of coffee that he left on the counter. “Good morning, did you sleep well last night?” He takes a sip of coffee, placing his full attention on you.
You had the biggest grin on your face, and you tried to compose yourself, making sure you didn’t laugh. “I slept great. What are you guys doing at 9 am” you walk to the kitchen opening the fridge and gathering the ingredients to make a sandwich.
“What do you mean what we both did? It was all- oh” Bucky notices that you were awake preparing yourself food. He gets near you and wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer so he can give you a brief kiss on your head. “Good morning, doll. I’m sorry if we woke you up” he takes the sandwich that you prepared and takes a bite out of it.
Watching him take a bite from the sandwich you had prepared yourself made you a bit upset. You crossed your arms and walked away with the sandwich he just bit. “First, he wakes me up, and then he takes a bite of my sandwich.” you thought to yourself. You had a frown on your face.
Steve looks in Bucky’s direction continuing drinking the last bit of his coffee with his eyebrows lifted. Then it clicked to Bucky that he had messed up, so he quickly turns around and prepares another sandwich. He opens the fridge and grabs your favorite chocolate, and speed walks in your direction. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have taken a bite” he hands you the sandwich he prepared and the chocolate “here you go, doll. I’m going to go finish up the crib.” He points to the direction of the bedroom.
Before he could walk away from you, you grab his wrist “can I come help with whatever you guys might be doing” you knit your eyebrows together and push your bottom lip forward, making a pouty face. “Please” you knew that he couldn’t say no to you when you did this facial expression.
He takes your hand and starts walking to the bedroom. You see Sam on a ladder with a paint roller in his hands “sorry, we woke you up” you go near him and hand him the sandwich that Bucky made for you “thank you, you didn’t have to make this for me.” he gave you a brief smile.
Bucky had a blank stare, and his facial expression read ‘really.’ You giggled a little “I didn’t make it. Bucky did,” you whisper and placed your hand on your cheek, trying to cover your lips and from what you were going to say next “so if it tastes bad, that’s why,” you whispered and scrunched your nose.
“I heard that” Bucky sounded annoyed and had a frown formed on his face.
This made you and Sam laugh for a couple of minutes.
You walk towards Bucky wrapping your arms around him and getting on your toes to kiss him on his chin. “You know I’m just messing with you.” Still pressing your lips against his skin, “You are an amazing cook, and your sandwiches are always going to be my favorite” a little smile formed on your face while your lips were still pressed on his skin.
You walk towards the dresser where a bag full of baby clothes was at and you start organizing them by pajamas, formal, underwear, casual category.
Sam and Steve both left to take a mini-break. But Bucky, he stayed with you, he wanted to make sure that you were safe, and if you needed anything, he would be there for you. Looking through the bag, you found the pair of suspender top and bottom set that came with a bowtie. You turn around to showed Bucky the little outfit. “Honey, look, Leo is going to look so adorable in this” you place the outfit against your stomach.
He had a smirk on his face and nodded. You couldn’t wait till the day comes where you can hold them in your arms.

If only... - Jinx part 2!
Woah. I... Never ever thought that my fic could get so much love. I am so grateful for every comment and every like I received.
The whole fic was supposed to be a one shot, something to get out of my head for once but after reading your comments and seeing how lot of you would want a second part I just couldn't say no.
So this fic will have in total 4 parts. First one you already saw, it was mainly to cover what happened, what led Marinette to becoming Jinx. Second part will cover feelings of Marinette's parents--you're here! This chapter will be probably shorter? I can't really see the word count, so yeah. Enjoy!
Part 1
Part 3
Part 4
***
Paris was in chaos. It was only a day after Jinx live transmission ended and dark emotions blossomed all across the city. It was their Ladybug. It was their hero who got hurt, who let herself be akumanitazed. And even if they knew that Chat got the earrings, that be could pick new Ladybug everyone stiil held a despair in their heart. How heroes were supposed to win? How Paris was supposed to look at the fight between them and not suffer?
After the transmission, the story about Marinette's fall flew around the whole city. It didn't take long before wave of criticism crushed the school. If they only did a little bit better. If they only were a little more profesional. People were looking for someone guilty, someone who would take the blame. And no one wanted to be this person.
Day after transmission mayor held a meeting in the city hall. It was supposed to be a way to figure out the plan in the small gathering but it soon became a whole manifestation. People were angry. They wanted the end of the situation and they wanted for their Ladybug to come back.
*
Mayor forcefully closed the door and blocked them witch heavy chair. Screams and profanities just behind the walls of small room, the song of the hurt. Too strong.
Andre looked around the room. Somehow he managed to gather only a few people. Hopefully that would be enough. The Chat Noir, parents of Marinette, police officer, director of this God forsaken school, the teacher, his daughter, this girl, Lila? And a few friends of the akumatized girl.
"Alright, we have to think about the plan."
"We can't give her anything that she wants!"
"Miss Bustier have you seen what is happening?! This must stop! Marinette killed innocent-!"
"Oh would you shut up!"
Everyone looked at Chloé. She looked... Somehow more pissed than usually.
"Miss Bourgeois, your language-!"
"I said shut up! You're talking nonsense! It's not Dupain-Cheng, duh!"
Andre looked nervous.
"Honey what you..."
"It's not Dupain-Cheng! It's not our Ladybug! It's Akuma! And she has an Akuma because of her!"
Chloé shoot a nasty look in Lila's way. She knew. Chloé was one of the few who didn't believe in Lila's lies. When this whole mess started she didn't for a second believed that Dupain-Cheng did any of this nasty things. After all, she had bullied the blue haired girl for years and she never even smacked her! And this clumsy ass was supposed to push someone off the stairs? Not a chance.
Chat Noir stepped up.
"Okay, okay, let us leave this talk for another time! We have to get a plan!"
The hero turned to Marinette's parents.
"Ma'am, do you know where your daughter is?"
Sabine looked at the boy and gritted her teeth.
"Do I look like I know where she is?!"
Chat Noir looked at her.
She looked like she didn't sleep well for the past month. She looked like she was crying each and every day. She looked like she didn't eat a good meal, like she couldn't force herself to pick up the fork. She looked... fragile. Broken. She looked like she needed comfort and safety but not for herself.
Chat looked at the ground.
"... No" he said softly.
Dupain-Cheng's reported that Marinette was missing a week ago, just when it all started. They were brushed away because Paris was dealing with other problems like a constant reakumanitazations and destructions that weren't magically repairing themselves. And now everyone had to watch how Jinx was making everything worse.
Tom hold his broken hand and tried to look strong. For his wife. For... For his daughter.
If he only believed her then. If he only fought for her, tried to discover the truth... He knew his daughter. He knew that she couldn't do this kind of things. But... But he got this conclusion after it was too late. Now he looked seriously at the Chat Noir.
"What do you want to do."
It wasn't a question. It... Somehow sounded more grim that everything else. Chat looked like he was uncomfortable.
"She... She has to be stopped..."
"You want to hurt her again!"
Tom made a few furious steps toward the hero but was soon stopped by the officer.
"Mister Dupain-Cheng, please calm down! Your daughter is a victim of the Akuma, Chat Noir will try to save her!"
Tom clenched his only good hand. The broken bone remained him what happened day before and suddenly he lost all his strength.
"I... I can't do this."
He left. Sabine didn't go after him, she just sat on one of the couches and cried silently. It wasn't supposed to look like this. She needed her family. Her husband and her little beautiful daughter. Without them she felt so weak. She felt... Useless.
She regretted that day. When she lost her faith in Marinette. When she got herself caught in the lies of this awful girl. The day when she could support her princess a bit more... And maybe she would still have her. And maybe she would still be awake.
But not only this. If she showed her support even before, maybe a lot of things would be different. If she saw how stressed Marinette was, how she sometimes looked like she was so, so tired. Maybe... Maybe she could be a better mom. Maybe she could put her faith in her. Maybe she could... She didn't know! She just felt like she failed and couldn't make it better. She just wished she could at least try... But it was impossible, was it?
At the same time, Tom was walking away. Far, far away. He couldn't just stand there and listen how they wanted to hunt down his little girl. He couldn't listen how they blamed her for everything. Wasn't she just a child? His sweet baby girl. She was the same as every villain that showed up in Paris! She didn't know what she was doing! She... She didn't deserve everyone's hate. Tom stopped and tried to fight off the tears. His little girl. He looked up, at the broken ceiling and screamed.
"Hawkmoth! Hawkmoth, do you hear me?! Come here! Come and get me! Am I not broken enough?!"
Tom felt like he was making a deal with the devil but he didn't care anymore.
"Come and get me! I want to be strong! You gave it to me! Change me again! Hawkmoth!"
He needed this. He needed this strength. Tom felt tears on his cheeks.
"Hawkmoth! You bastard! G-give it to me! I-I.."
He fell to his knees.
"I need to protect her." he whispered. "I need to protect my little girl... Why can't I protect her..."
And he sat there, sobbing. No Akuma came to him. No one answered. He was left alone, weak.
He looked at his arm. It was broken because he was too reckless.
*
When he saw his daughter he couldn't stay in place. He and Sabine ran to the studio. They didn't care what she did, Marinette was their daughter. They had to make sure she was okay. Or as okay as she could be. When they saw her, they just cried. They tried to tell her to come back, to fight off Akuma... And she smiled. She began moving, floating towards them. One of her ribbons reached out to them... And he stepped up and grabbed it. Suddenly one of the heavy cameras fall over, in one second crushing his arm and hand.
"Huh... Such a luck, hm?"
"Marinette!"
"Marinette what? There is no Marinette."
"It's not like you! Please honey, stop this madness!"
The girl cocked her head.
"Stop it? But... If I stop I will go back to sleep. That's what you want?"
"No! No, no, no! Please Marinette!"
"Besides... It's not like me? That's funny."
She wrapped herself in ribbons, suddenly flickering even more than seconds ago.
"Last time something like that happened, you believed it was something I could do. What was that? Ah, yes. Pushing Lila, this little..." Jinx made and ugly face. "This... This girl from stairs. That's almost like I tried to kill her! Isn't it worse than what just happened? If you could believe I did it then, then why don't you believe it now? I mean... At least someone saw me doing it, right~?"
Sabine cried.
"Please... I... Miss you so much..."
"And you still want me to give this up. I won't be trapped anymore. I'm free now mom. Isn't it better?"
Jinx didn't wait for an answer. She just disappeared, leaving her parents alone. To cry and wait for someone to help...

A Hell of a ride
Characters: Reader, Dean, Bobby, Sam, Lisa & Ben.
Pairings: Dean x Reader & Dean x Lisa.
Warnings: Angst, language and some fighting.
Summary: Part 1 of a new series. Set in Season 6, Sam and the Reader have been living questionable lives after they crawled out of hell. Dean gets dragged right back into the life with his new family. The stakes get way to high, can they win? Will Dean’s love for the Reader fix everything?
A/N: Yes, I know I have been gone for way too long and I am deeply sorry. However, I am back, with stories that with tantalise your mind and leave you wanting more. Hahah. Thank you for reading. Constructive criticism and feedback is highly appreciated as always.
Tumblr media
“Y/N.”
Your name tumbled out of his mouth in stunned whisper. He was frozen for almost three heartbeats, just standing there with his haw slack as he blinked slowly. He was in shock and you couldn't blame him. You could see the gears, whirring behind his eyes, the information seeping in. The realisation finally crashing into him like a tsunami.
He whipped around, the deadly accusatory glare directed at Bobby, who could look everywhere except at Dean.
“You know they were alive this whole time?” he spat, “this whole goddamn time?” his jaw clenched shut and his temple throbbing from the fury brewing in the pit of his stomach.
Bobby cleared his throat and rose from his chair to walk towards Dean. He lifted his hand to lay it onto Dean’s shoulder. But Dean, he just dodged Bobby’s touch. The betrayal evident on his face, “Of course you knew Bobby. You just failed to inform me. How long?” His voice growing louder as he demanded answers, “How goddamn long have they been back?”
The guilt was bubbling it’s way to the surface of your skin but all you did was stay standing next to Sam, with your arms folded across your chest and watched Dean pace up and down the study and lose his mind.
“A year.”
Dean cast his eyes to you and Sam, his lips curled into an angry scowl as he smudged away on lone tear that fell down his cheek, “You’re kidding right?” he shook his head, refusing to believe what he was hearing. He resumed his pacing just for the sake of movement.
A brief looked passed between you and Sam before you stalked up to Dean and grabbed him by his collar, forcing him to stop moving so he could finally look at you for more than two seconds.
“Don’t you dare blame this on Bobby.” you growled, “he did what he thought was best for you.” you stabbed a finger into his solid chest, the frown of his face ebbing away and the softness returning to his eyes at your words but that didn't stop you, “You finally had a life. A good life that you deserve, so sue us for wanting to keep you out. Now, do yourself a goddamn favor and stay out.” You release his collar from your grip and shove him back.
Before your own tears threatened to fall, you stormed out, slamming the door behind you as your tried to block out their raised voices. Once again, blaming each other for the shit show that was the last couple of months.
Tumblr media
The nippy air bit at your exposed skin as you sat at the work bench in the scrap yard, twirling your bronze knife between your fingers and watching the metal reflect the light. There’s no handbook to help when you come back to life, it ain’t no walk in the park either. When you woke up, you were all alone in the cemetery, the rain falling in sheets but you could feel anything. There’s this massive void inside your ribs that you cant seemed to fill. You tried, god knows you tried to feel even the slightest bit normal again but nothing worked. Not alcohol, not sex, not even the thrill that came from the hunt but blood..
One thing hadn't changed though, you felt it in your bones. One specific detail was sewn into your very being. That Dean was still the love of your life. You didn't have the courage to tell him that the first thing you did when you rose from the ground was to try and find your way back to him. You had walked miles to him, covered in dirt and grime, your sheer determination fuelling you. But you couldn't will yourself to walk up to the door, you just stood at the opposite side of the street and watched them being a family through the slits in the curtains as the sun began to set. He deserved her and the boy, he looked happy and he deserved to be. Regardless of the gnawing jealousy the crawled into the pit of your stomach, you walked away. You had to, because you knew it was for the best.
“I knew I’d find you here.” his voice jolting you to the present, his smile throwing you off balance as he sat down in front of you. His fingers settled on the carving in the wood, tracing the pattern of a heart and your initials with his.
A scowled found it’s way across your lips, “Where else could I be? Not like I could go to Hell twice in a row. Or is that just jinxing it?” you added with a sarcastic smile.
Dean was stunned, like you had just slapped him across the face and wreaked baby all in one go. His eyes glossed over as he sucked in a breath, using the moment of silence to figure out the right words to say.
“I could think about what I want to say for days but nothing would be enough. Nothing will amount to the sacrifice you made.” his voice cracked, “I’m sorry. I am so sorry. I went to her because Sam made me promise, you made me promise. If I had known you were alive, Jesus, I would have dropped everything, anything for you and Sammy. For my brother and my girl.” He was shaking as he spoke, his lip trembling as his tears fell freely.
Like a spring, you shot to your feet, “Whoa!” the shock evident in your voice, “It doesn't work like that okay? We can’t just pick up were we left off.” your chest was heaving, ‘I died, okay? I died. Like dead as a fucking door knob dead. I’m not the same girl anymore. The girl you knew and loved died in that cemetery. And, she’ll never come back.”
Dean just stared at you, like a wounded puppy with his green eyes big and teary. He looked like he was barely holding himself together, the anguish busting his seams. But what could you do? Nothing. You had to let him be and let him go.
You sighed, tucking your stray strands of hair behind your ears, “If you’re thinking of leaving Lisa for blood covered machetes and a dead girl, you’re making a big mistake. A fucking colossal mistake. You have something with her, so don't throw it away. She obviously loves you and was there in ways I could never have been. So, just go live your life. You can repay me for my sacrifice by doing that.”
You pocketed your dagger, sparing one last look at Dean, you walked back towards the house.
Tumblr media
You were on your knees, ruffling through the kitchen drawer in search of a bottle opener when you felt a hand graze your shoulder.
“Y/N right?” Lisa questioned, a thin smile on her bare lips.
As you straightened up, you dusted your dark jeans at the knees before you reached out to shake her hand.
“The one and only.” you answered, trying your hardest to be polite, “It’s nice to finally meet you and to put a name to a face.” you lied, walking to the fridge just for the sake of something to do, “Beer?” you offered, “Canned beer because the bottle opener is lost to the world.”
Barely any reaction crossed her features, she just nodded and leaned against the table whilst opened and handed her the beer.
The air was thick, the silence suffocating you. Something felt off about the whole situation but your just couldn't figure out what. Your blood began racing in your veins, burning hot like it was laced with acid and all you wanted to do was run. But you didn't. You stayed put and rose your gaze to face her.
“Sorry about not introducing myself properly earlier. I’m not exactly big on reunions or a people’s person.” you scoffed and leaned against the counter. You opened your beer, the satisfying ‘tshhh’ sound filling your ears before you took a huge gulp and spoke again, “I’m also sorry that your boy got dragged into this. But I’m sure you knew. That everything and everyone in this life is messy and every single thing comes with terms and conditions or a consequence.”
She let out a gust of air, her lips pulled in a tight line as she set the untouched beer down and shook the condensation of her fingers.
“Oh you mean like you? Your noble sacrifice? You left him and he was so broken. I had to try and put him back together and still he used to talk about you.” utter heartbreak lacing her voice, causing your eyes to dart to her face, “Only in his sleep. He’d never speak about what happened when he was awake. He didn't wanna speak to me.” she shrugged, her shoulders sagging.
“Lisa, you don't have to wor-” you began to say before she interrupted.
“I pieced two and two together. Now, it finally makes sense to me. Of why he chose you, why he’ll always choose you. I want to hate you, I want to hate you so bad, for his heart belonging to you. But I can’t. You died to save the world. You’re great, more than I’ll ever be.” she choked back a sob, “He might have physically been there with me but you were the only thing mattered to him. You and Sam. I love him. And it hurts so much because he’ll never love me back. He will never love me back.” She clutched onto the table for support, the grief and agony washing over her as her tears began to fall.
You were awful in situations like this. You never knew what to say or what to do.
“Lisa.” you started, trying to bring some comfort, “he cares about you and your son deeply.” you smiled gently, pointing towards the kitchen window to show her Dean and Ben sitting on the hood of a scrap car, just talking.
“No!” she yelled, the shrill of her voice startling you as she shoved you back hard enough to make you land on your ass, “You don't understand. It hurts. It hurts so much.” she was trembling, her eyes bloodshot and her tears running black down her face as she walked towards you, “You don't know how much it hurts to give someone the best of you and watch him choose someone else. You’re the dead girl and he’ll still choose you.”
She bared her teeth and leaped at you.

31 Day Angst Challenge
Day 1: Grief
So I'm trying this challenge for April. I'm using my character Sylvia "Silver" Nightengale, from my Riverdale Fanfic. I haven't actually though of a title yet.
Anyway this is actually one of the scenes I'm working on but I switched some things around so that it fits better and doesn't give away too much of the story.
Mentions of death but nothing really explicit.
(Really sorry but I don't know how to add the Keep Reading thing on the mobile app yet and since I don't have a computer I have to do it this way. Sorry.)
***
Silver walked into Frankie's room and put her stuff on the bed. She almost collasped onto the bed. It had been a long few days, and she was exhausted.
Percy had known something was wrong, and he had tried so hard to make her smile for her birthday. It had taken every ounce of control she had not to burst into tears at the cake and presents her family had given her. Even Andromeda had been nice.
And when the package had shown up...
She had smiled and lied through her teeth. Then she had thrown it in the closet.
It had been from Tony.
Silver held her face in her hands and tried to focus on her breathing. But something caught her eye.
It was a box. The lid wasn't fully closed and she could see a picture. She eased off the bed and sank to her knees. Oh so carefully she pick it up out of the box. It was Jinx Tony and Frankie smiling at the camera sitting on the couch in the living room. Frankie was younger. They all were.
She was so wrapped up in the picture she didn't hear Frankie come in. "Silver what are you doing?!"
Silver jumped. "I-I- Oh god Franks I'm so sorry I saw the picture and I... just... I didn't look at any thing else I swear Franks! But I saw it and I..." Her eyes went back to the picture. "I forgot. I can't believe it but... I forgot... what colour Jinx's eyes were."
Frankie blinked. She had forgotten too.
That Andromeda had burned all of Silvers treasures. Silver laughed sadly. "I don't have any pictures of them. And I forgot..." tears that she had been holding in for days began to fall. "I'll probably forget what Tony looked like too. Eventually."
Frankie just looked at her friend. She had no idea what to say. So instead she hugged Silver. "It's okay." She crooned softly, soothingly. "It's just kinda private. I forgot to put it away. You can look through the rest of the pictures if you want. I was just suprised. I'm sorry."
Silver pulled away and shook her head. "No, I'm sorry I should have known better I just... I saw it there and..." She wiped at her eyes which had dried almost instantly. "I'm just kinda out of it I guess."
"Silver..."
"Um, so, do you uh, are you sure you're okay with me snooping through your pictures?" She smiled and turned back to the box.
Frankie looked at Silver sadly. It was obvious she was dying over what happened but she was trying to keep it together in front of all of them. Had she cried once since that night? Frankie didn't think so. It hurt to watch. But if she said anything, it would start a fight. And that was the last thing they needed.
Still.
"Silver?"
"Uh-huh,"
"If you need to let it out, if you need to cry or anything-"
Silver froze.
"I'm fine. Really Frankie."
Frankie almost snorted. Silver certainly didn't look fine. She looked haggard. As if she hadn't slept or even eaten in days.
"I-" Silver shook her head refusing to look Frankie "I feel like if I break now... if I start crying... I don't think I'll be able to stop."
"Silver..." Frankie started then she looked at the picture she was still holding in her hands. "Do you mind, can I ask?"
"Yeah?"
"When Sky and Dani... did it feel like this?" Frankie whispered. Silver saw the look on Frankie's face and this time it was Silver who pulled Frankie in for a hug. "Yeah. It felt exactly like this." Silver's voice cracked. "I'm so sorry Frankie. I'm so sorry."
Frankie squeezed Silver so hard she thought she heard her ribs creaking, but she didn't care.
Silver pulled away when she hear the front door slam.
"That's probably Louis."
Silver heard him coming up the stairs. "I'll... I need some air. You... you two can talk. I'll be back."
"You don't have to go." Frankie told her.Silver smiled. But Frankie could see the cracks starting.
"It's fine. Come and get me when you're done."
Silver almost ran into Louis in the hall. "Sylvia?"
"Sorry. Just going to get some fresh air." She slid past him and all but ran to the back yard.
"The hell?" Louis shook his head and walked onto Frankie's room. "What's with her?" He asked his sister. "I mean- crap I don't know what I mean. Everything is just so messed up."
Louis looked at the box. Frankie looked at it too and felt the overwhelming urge to explain. "I left it out." She said quietly. "I don't know why. It only made me feel worse. I forgot to put it away. Silver saw the picture of Tony and Jinx. She was crying. She said... she forgot what colour Jinx's eyes were. And then... She said she would probably forget what Tony looked like too. And she just looked..." Frankie shook her head and wrapped her arms around herself. "Andromeda burned everything. Silver doesn't have any pictures of Jinx or Tony or Sky and Dani. All their presents are gone. She just has the colouring page that she gave Tony and Jinx when they first met and a picture of her Sky and Dani that she kept in her wallet. So... I thought..."
"Maybe it would help?" Louis supplied.
"She really did love him Louis. As much as we did. Maybe more. And she won't- she said she can't... She break or she won't stop and... I don't know what to do Louis! She's my best friend and I don't know how to help! She's trying to make sure the rest of us are okay but she..."
"I'll go talk to her." Louis said.Frankie gave him an incredulous look. "But-"
"Yeah I know I haven't exactly been team Silver, but she's your friend and I know Tony..." Louis ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "Tony would murder me if I didn't do something to help her. He cared too much about the both of you for me to let you guys spiral."
Frankie was shocked. "Thank you."
"You're my sister Franks. It's kinda my job to help you out. And right now that means helping Sylvia."
Louis turned and walked out.
Frankie sat and looked at the pictures in her special box. The pictures were old. Silver would probably have some more recent pictures of Tony. Pictures of Tony after Jinx. After joining the Ghoulies. Frankie wondered if Silver had any picture of him smiling. Probably not. Frankie looked at her precious memories. The things and keepsakes she had to remember Tony and Jinx by. Silver didn't have that anymore. And now none of them had Tony.
Frankie laid down on the floor and cried.
***
Louis found her on the back porch. Her knees were hugged up to her chest, her head tilted up, staring at the stars.
"Do you think he's watching?" She asked not turning. "Do you think... he's mad at me?" Sylvia paused. "For not crying I mean."
Louis sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I think he'd be sad. To see you like this." Louis said. He walked over and sat down beside her. "I think he'd be proud. That you're trying to keep it together for the rest of us. But I think... you'd break his heart."
Sylvia nodded then burried her face in her knees. "I'm being stupid arent I? Xander's probably fighting to keep his head above water, Frankie probably blames herself, and you..." Louis looked at Sylvia, and he saw something. Something Tony had probably seen the whole time. The girl was barely seventeen. Still a kid. He kept forgetting. Frankie was always a baby in his eyes. Silver was only a couple months older than his baby sister. So why did she always seem... old?
She didn't now. For once. For the first time. She looked exactly like a seventeen year old kid that just got her world imploded.
"I'm... sorry, Louis." Her head lifted, and Louis finally knew what Tony was talking about. Even after Romi, there had been fire in Sylvia's eyes. It wasn't there now. And it hurt.
"For what?"
She looked at him. "Everything. Nothing. Falling apart. Keeping it together." She leaned back and looked at the stars. "I'm just sorry."
There was a brief pause as Louis considered what to say. Then he thought screw and told her what was on his mind.
"I think he's with Jinx. I think he's telling Jinx how good you grew up to be. I think they're looking as and yelling at us for being stupid. I think..." He looked at her.
"I think, Sky and Dani are with them. And they've yelling for awhile." A tear rolled down her cheek. "I think I'm not okay. I think... I'll never be okay again. Because they're gone and I can't fix it. I think... I don't care how mad they'd be, but I'd trade my life to bring them back. I think... I don't want him to be gone. And I want him back."
"I think I do too." Louis said. "Here." He held a picture out to her. "Think of it as a belated birthday present." Gingerly she took the picture from him.
The sound that left her was half laugh, half sob. "Oh my God!" She gave him a shaky smile. "I can't believe they- Oh god! That's the night I told them I had a crush on Skylar."
"Yeah, Jinx told me. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as when he showed me that picture. It took me until you got shot to realize you were the same kid."
She cut a sideways glance at him. "I haven't changed that much."
Louis shook his head. "You looked six in this. I don't think I ever saw you look that much like-" he stopped and came up with a better way to say it. "You always seemed so much older than you were. I never got to see you look like a little kid."
Sylvia's arms wrapped back around her knees again. "I didn't have much of choice, you know." She said. "When I was at the bar with them, or when I was with Sky and Dani... I think those were really the only times I got to be a kid. Everyone else was always telling me to grow up."
Sylvia looked out at the backyard again. "Do you... the funeral, I mean- have his parents said anything?"
Louis shook his head. "They aren't. Going to have one. They're just gonna have him cremated and have the ashes scattered up at Sweetwater river."
Sylvia's head whipped towards him. "What? But they can't- they can't just-"
"I'm going to talk with my dad." Louis said, his hand curling into a fist. "If I have to pay for the funeral myself, I'll do it. He deserved that much." Louis shook his head. "He deserved more. From me." Louis let out a breath. "I just need dad to convince them to let me. I don't have much saved but..."
"I'll help." Sylvia said. "Anyway I can. I have some money saved. He helped me so much it... it's the least I could do for him. I just... I couldn't stand it Louis. If that's all he got."
"No Sil. I'm not gonna take your money. I wouldn't be able to face Tony in the end if I did." Sylvia's head snapped up to look at him. "I understand, wanting to do this for him. You'd do it all by yourself if you could. I know you would. But I want you to save that cash. Save it for collage. To get out of this town. To run and never look back. That's what he wanted for you, you know."
"He- He never told me that." She said.
"He wouldn't. But he wanted you to get out of here. This town, it would kill that fire you had. And more than anything, that light, was what he never wanted you to loose. He wanted you to get out. And make something of yourself. So if you're gonna do something for him, for Sky and Dani and Jinx. Do that. Live and get out."
"Thank you. Louis." She said quietly.
"I'm gonna head back in and talk with my parents. You coming?"
"I think, I will, in a few more minutes."
"I think, Tony would tell you it's okay to cry when your hurting." Louis replied.
"Yeah," Silver agreed. "I think he would too."
"I'll see you inside." Louis said.
And he turned and walked away. Leaving Sylvia right where he found her, sitting on the porch. Staring at the stars.

Chapter Eleven
Tumblr media
Simone
My leg was shaking uncontrollably as I just stared helplessly at the hospital floor.
The suspense of having to wait to find out his condition was agonizingly painful. Nae had been trying to calm me down for the past hour and a half but my heart was still beating so fast that you could barely tell it was beating at all.
I asked the nurses about it a few times but they told me I'd have to wait for a doctor to be updated but they were just taking too fucking long. It's too late for me to be stressing like this, I haven't slept all night and I was covered in blood. Well my clothes anyway, I washed the rest off of my skin once we got to the hospital. People were looking at me like I had just killed someone but honestly, right now, I don't even care.
I could faintly feel Nae rubbing my back in circular motions to try and comfort me. She dropped everything she was doing just so she could come here and be with me. I don't think I could be more grateful, I'm not sure if I could be here waiting alone and still have my sanity. I have the man I love's blood all over me and I feel so useless like I can't even do anything to help him right now. Sane was the last word that you could compare me to.
My eyes were red and swollen from having cried so much and my nose was that shiny tint of pink you get when your nose has been blown into a tissue too much. Saying all this to say, I looked a hot ass mess. But the only thing I could really think about was Saint and the entire time I've been here, I've just been hoping and praying that he was okay and he would pull through this because of how strong he was and be cracking jokes whenever he woke up.
Imagining it all caused a slight giggle to escape my lips. I could just picture him waking up to my face and saying some corny shit like, "Is this heaven?" because that was honestly the way he is. Trying to lighten the mood even when it seemed like nothing would be able to get you out of the funk you were in. But somehow, he did it.
And I just don't want none of that to go away. We're happy and I know, for me, he'll toughen up and make it through this. I just know it. He would never leave me and Junior here.
"Are you ok?" Nae asked to finally break the silence.
But all she earned back from me was the sucking of my teeth and the shaking of my head. That was a stupid ass question and I think she knew it, she just didn't know what to say. I can't be mad at her for that but I'm definitely not answering it.
Suddenly, a person in a white lab type coat was standing in front of me causing me to immediately stand to my feet with hope in my eyes. "Are you the girlfriend of Christian Mendéz?"
"Y-Yes, is he ok?"
He gave me a knowing look causing any ounce of hope I had left to instantly vanish from my body. "One of the bullets unfortunately got itself lodged three and a half millimeters into his heart. By the time we were able to successfully remove the bullet, there had just been too much internal bleeding. We did everything we could. I'm deeply sorry for your loss."
"No..." I said this as more of a shock than a response before feeling myself unwillingly drop down to my knees, letting out a loud sob soon afterwards. "NO!"
Nae immediately rushed to my side to hold me and for some reason I wanted to push her off but in all honesty, her shoulder was so comfortable that my head didn't feel like moving. I was rocking back and forth and just kept repeating the words "no" and "please." I'm not sure exactly who I was talking to but I just couldn't stop. They slipped out as fluidly as my tears did.
This all had to be some sort of sick prank, right? I mean Saint couldn't really be gone, that doctor was probably lying to me because of Dom. There's just no way Saint could have given up like that, he's strong.
Standing up, I headed over to the reception desk with Nae attempting to pull me back but I quickly snatched out of her grip. "Hi, I need to see Christian Mendéz. Could you tell me what room he's in please?"
Instead of typing away on her keyboard to find out where he was, she gave me the same look the doctor did. Fuck this, I'll look for him myself then.
"Ma'am, I—"
I didn't even stay there to listen to whatever excuse she had to give me. She was probably in on the sick joke too, all of them were. I began to go room to room, desperately searching for my man in high hopes that they were all lying to me and being paid off. "SAINT!!" I called out with every other door I went to. "SAINT, WHERE ARE YOU?!"
It didn't take long for one of the security guards to come and grab ahold of me. "Miss, you can't be screaming like that in here." I forcefully snatched away from him too and continued my search.
"SAINT!!!"
Feeling strong arms wrap around my body and lift me up, I instantly started kicking, trying to maneuver my way out of his grasp. "Get off of me! I have to find him before something happens to him!" But instead, I was being dragged out of there for causing a 'disruption.'
"Stop. Stop, I'll take her home." I heard Nae's voice through all of the chaos and honestly, I barely remembered that she was still here.
The security guard stopped in his tracks to look down at her but that didn't stop me from attempting to get out of his hold. I had to. "Is she going to cause any more trouble if I let her go?"
"No." Nae quickly responded back while shaking her head, giving me pleading eyes. So I stopped squirming.
Once he let me go, he escorted us out of the hospital building and as soon as he was out of sight, I turned to Nae. "We have to find a way to get back in there and go get him. I don't know how but we have to."
Her eyes were glossy like she was about to cry just looking at me then her arms came out and both her hands rested on both my shoulders. "Simone, I'm so sorry." I shook my head and tried to move away, not wanting to hear anymore of the bullshit leaving everyone's mouth. But she grabbed me by my face and turned it back so that I was looking straight into her eyes. "He's gone now baby girl, I'm sorry but the hospital wouldn't lie to you unless they want a major lawsuit on their hands. He's gone." She reiterated to me causing me to close my eyes, trying not to cry again but it was no use.
"No, he can't be."
***Flashback***
He led me into his closet causing me to instantly furrow my eyes. "This is what you wanted to show me? Baby, I've seen it a million times already." I giggled out.
I know damn well Saint wasn't trying to show me his clothes like I haven't seen him in every bit of them and... might have probably definitely stripped him out of a few of them too.
He moved several of his jackets to the side causing me to widen my eyes at what I was seeing. He then got hold of a neatly cut square of plaster from the wall and removed it, revealing a shoebox just sitting there in that hidden hole.
"Damn... you must really love those shoes." But the box was of a shoe I've never even seen him wear before. Can't love a shoe that much if you never wear them, right? Now I was curious.
I looked over his shoulder as he sat the box down and opened it up. My eyes were now nearly popping out of their sockets as they focused in on the stacks of cash sitting right there in that shoebox. Has that been here the whole time and I didn't even know?
He turned around to face me with the box full of money in his hands. "I've been saving this for a while now. And if anything ever happens to me, I want to make sure you and Junior stay safe. Nobody else knows 'bout this and I wanna keep it that way, aight?"
I quickly nodded in response, not knowing anything else I could say at a moment like this. There was a whole box full of cash behind the wall in the closet that I haven't known about for months.
"This was originally just in case I needed it for something but now, this is strictly for y'all. I don't touch this money except when I'm putting more in there. There's a couple ten thousand in here but honestly I lost count after $15k."
I stumbled back, honestly a little dazed. Fifteen thousand. I've never even seen that much money in one place before, much less hidden in the closet I get dressed in every single day. "I don't want you to touch it either 'cause you know I got you but if something ever does happen—"
"Don't worry because nothing is gonna happen to you." I quickly cut him off so he could stop sitting here and jinxing himself. My comment earned a smile from him causing my own grin to start forming on my face as I leaned up and pressed my lips against his. "Thank you." I whispered against them, kissing him a few more times because I honestly didn't want to stop.
I was falling in love with this man. And hard.
***Flashback ends***
Me and Nae were in the car and when I saw her take the turn down my street, I instantly shook my head. "No, I can't—" I sighed heavily, trying to get my words together. "I can't sleep in that house. Could I maybe stay with you tonight?"
She nodded in response and turned the car around. I honestly wasn't sure how Saint's house was looking right about now since we left in such a hurry but I just couldn't be there. And I definitely wouldn't be able to get any sleep there.
It felt like too short of a drive on the way to her house but I spent it watching all of the trees and road signs go by. They were at least a distraction for a little bit. Once we got there, we both hopped out and she guided me to the front door, occasionally rubbing my back since my head was down while we walked.
"Do you have some pajamas I could borrow?" I asked once I finally realized I didn't have none over here and I definitely wasn't about to stay in these clothes all night. Luckily, I had some jeans and a couple of t-shirts over here to get dressed in tomorrow but I always slept with Saint so I never really needed anything to sleep in.
She gave my body a once over. "Well, you're definitely thicker than I am but I'm sure I could find something that fits you. I wear baggy clothes all the time." I only nodded in response. "You can take a shower in my bathroom, you know where the washcloths and towels are. You can leave your clothes on the floor, I'll put them in the wash."
I didn't do much talking but the feeling of the water from the shower head hitting my skin felt almost euphoric. I wanted to stay in here forever. Forever had to be cut short though because I stayed in there so long that the water got freezing cold and even then, I didn't come out right away.
Once I finally did have to come back to reality and get out, I got dressed and laid in Nae's bed. I'm guessing she took a shower in the other bathroom because she came back only to throw her clothes in the hamper and pick up mine to put them in the wash.
When she was done doing that, she came back in the room and grabbed one of the pillows on her bed before turning to me with a sullen expression on her face. "I figured you might want some privacy so—"
"No! Please don't leave me in here by myself. I'm not gonna be able to sleep." I quickly called out once I noticed her starting to walk out of the room.
She gave me a small reassuring smile before coming back to the bed and laying on the opposite side of me. "Come here." Holding her arm out towards me, I took the invitation and laid my head down on her chest as she began to rub circles on my back to help me fall asleep but all it did was remind me of when we were at the hospital and tears couldn't help but to fall from my eyes once there wasn't anything happening to distract me anymore.
He was really gone.

Antonio
She giggled lightly causing a smile to form on my face as I shook my head. “Nah, for real though Bree. I fuck with the way you look when your hair’s in a ponytail. You can see every little beautiful curve on your face.” I hesitated for a moment before pointing. “Like how your cheeks pop when you smile or laugh.”
“Whatever, you must tell that to all the girls huh?”
I shook my head in response. “You’re too special for me to be treating you like some other female.” My attention averted to her finger and I gestured a slight nod towards it. "I see that ring on your finger though. Congratulations ma."
I guess me saying that caused her to straighten out her face as she stared at me, as if making sure what was said was genuine but I've never been anything but genuine with her so there's not even a need to search.
"...Thank you." She gazed down at her finger with a small wistful smile. "Yea, my boyfriend just proposed to me not too long ago." After revealing that small piece of information, she slightly hesitated for a quick second before sighing causing me to furrow my eyebrows at her in question. "Why are you so nice to me? I mean the first day we met, you took the time out from your work and staff just to cheer me up."
I shrugged. "What's your point?"
"My point is why? I didn't even know you existed until you sat across from me in my booth."
Chuckling lowly, I shook my head and carefully thought out my next words before I spoke. It's true that I don't take the time to cheer every single customer up the way I did her but there was just something that drew me to her that I couldn't really explain to her nor myself. "I'm gonna let you in on a little secret," I leaned in closer to her causing her to involuntarily do the same in response, "I just wanted to see if I could make you smile. When you first came into my restaurant, I could tell something was wrong just by your vibe even though you were trying to hide it. I couldn't help myself, I wanted to put a personality to that beautiful face."
A blush slowly began to show itself on her face after everything was said causing her to cover her face to try and hide it but it was too late for that, a nigga already saw it and I would be lying if I told you that it didn't make me smile too.
Honestly, I had been waiting for the day to come where she questioned why I decided to approach her the way I did. The only simple answer I could really come up with was that she had this sort of gravitational pull about her.
And whenever we speak, I know she can see and feel the heat and desire between the both of us.
I know she doesn't want to admit it since she has a boyfriend and I'm perfectly fine with that. I've never said or did anything to disrespect what they got going on but I'm also not going to lie and say that I don't feel something when I talk to her. And I know she feels the same way just by the way she goes out of her way to come to the restaurant and talk to me just about every other week.
I even found out that the first time we met, she balled up the paper with my number on it and tossed it on the ground. She was pretty embarrassed about it when she told me but I had to let her know that she needs to learn how to trust herself. It's not like I was overstepping my boundaries or anything, I just want to be her friend.
Even if she's one of the sexiest hispanic woman I've ever seen. Everything about her is mad adorable but fortunately for me, I know how to keep it in my pants.
"You really think that about me?" She finally responded to what I had said with a blush causing me to break away from my thoughts with an amused chuckle.
As if anything I've ever said to her was a lie. "Of course I do. You dead ass one of the most interesting females I've met since I moved down here... and it's been some years."
She giggled lightly and shook her head before looking me straight in the eyes. "I know how to tell when someone's lying, you know."
"By all means then. Work your magic and let me know if I'm lying or not."
She stared at me with an unreadable gaze, a smile slowly forming on her face once she realized that I was one hundred percent about what I said. Shit, if I felt any different, I probably wouldn't be this persistent with her.
"So?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as she continued to grin at me.
Playfully rolling her eyes once she realized I wasn't backing down, she nodded as she tucked her bottom lip between her teeth. "Alright alright, you may not be lying to me this time but that doesn't mean you won't in the future."
"So you're saying there's gonna be a future with both of us in it together then?"
I earned another blush from her as she covered her face with her hands and laughed at my response. Licking over my lips, I sat there and waited for an answer expectedly causing her to remove her hands from her face and raise both of her eyebrows with a shrug. "Maybe there is, who knows? Only time will tell."
"Well you know if it was up to me, there would be. So really our future is in your hands right about now."
"Well," She lowered her voice as she leaned in a bit closer to me, "I guess we'll just have to see then, huh?"
I didn't really have any response but a nod as we both stared at each other from across the booth, although we weren't really that far from each other considering we were both leaning towards each other a bit. My eyes couldn't help but to roam her facial features as I noticed hers doing the same.
Her skin looked soft and blemish free, her hair fell perfectly draped around the shape of her face, and the way she wrinkled her nose a bit when she smiled was really doing something to me right about now.
Don't get me wrong, I want to respect what she has going on with ole dude since she's already told me so much about it but I just couldn't help myself from looking down at her lips with pure lust in my eyes. I wanted to see how they felt.
I unwillingly found myself leaning in, noticing her doing the same once I realized that our lips were nearly centimeters apart from connecting with each other. Her eyes fluttered closed as our lips came closer and closer together before she quickly reluctantly pulled back from me causing me to clear my throat and sit back as well.
"Oh. I, um, I can't do this." She stuttered out, frantically grabbing her things and standing up from the booth rapidly. I grabbed her by her wrist to stop her from going but she only looked back at me and pulled away. "I'm sorry but I-I have to go."
Hurrying out of the restaurant, she took one last glance back at me before leaving. As soon as she was out of sight, I sighed heavily and ran my hands over my face.
I really fucked up.
I didn't want things to just end the way it did so I decided to pull out my phone and shoot her a quick text, not really expecting her to respond but I still sent it anyway.
To: Bree 👸🏽
sorry if you felt like I was pressuring you or sumn, I hope it don't fuck up our friendship 💯
Tucking my phone into my pocket, I decided to stop slacking off and get back to work. My workers have definitely took notice to me suddenly disappearing from the back all of the time now. Me and Bree might just have to find a new meeting spot... if we ever even get to meet up again.
Just thinking that way caused another sigh to escape my lips before I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I pulled it out and was instantly surprised that she actually texted back. To be completely honest, a nigga thought he was never going to hear from her again after this went down. Even though we didn't do anything, I know we both wanted to and I think that's what scares her.
From: Bree 👸🏽
No. It's not your fault. I'm just... really confused rn. I'll ttyl.
Confused about what? It's obvious she wanted to kiss me so I know she wasn't confused about that.
Fuck.
In the heat of the moment, I didn't even remember that she's somebody's fiancé. That probably just made things a whole lot worse for her. I don't have anything tying me down but it's different on her end.
"Hey boss, we got a customer out here that wants a refund." One of my workers abruptly interrupted my thoughts as soon as I got to the back causing me to sigh since I just came from out there.
Walking back up to the front, I approached the customer from behind the check out counter and I could already tell she was about to be on some bullshit. She had a stank look on her face that caused her wrinkles to stand out more and she was going back and forth with the cashier. Lord, please give me the strength.
"No, I don't care about your stupid policy. I want my money back now! You know what, where's your manager?"
I quickly stepped up from watching the situation with a forced smile on my face. I wasn't in the mood for this bullshit right now. "That would be me."
"Yes, I want a refund on my meal. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be and I don't like it." She showed me the plate and my face instantly straightened out as I glared at the plate with narrowed eyes then up at her with that same icy stare.
This bitch.
There wasn't even anything left on the plate except some fucking onions, peppers, and other condiments from what I'm guessing was either a chicken, steak, or shrimp fajita dish. She's trying to finesse me and I'm not going for it.
"Ma'am," I said calmly but really I was seething, "First off, ain't shit on that dish. Second, our policy clearly states that in order to be refunded, you must have at least majority of your food untouched. I'm sorry but I can't give you a refund on this, you ate everything but the toppings."
She scoffed annoyingly. "No, I didn't. My husband picked through and ate all the chicken and shrimp. I didn't eat anything—"
I cut her off with a nonchalant shrug. "Well then I guess you better call your husband up here and make him pay for the food since he ate it."
"No no no, he already paid for his food and he's not about to pay for something I didn't even eat."
"Ma'am. You're not getting a refund. Thank you and have a nice day." I said in response before turning and walking away, earning shocked glances from her and a few of my workers. When I tell y'all I'm not in the fucking mood, I mean it.
I know I definitely just fucked up big time with Bree, the last thing I need is some annoying ass customer trying to get over on me and my workers. It just wasn't the time.
To: Bree 👸🏽
look, the way we left off got me feeling some type of way. could you call me whenever you're free?
After I sent that text, I decided to just clock out and leave work early because it was clear I couldn't handle customers with my head in a bad space. And until I know me and her are okay, my attitude not going to be right at all.
Damn, I need a drink.

My shirt has been damp all day since Simone’s been on and off with her crying. I could tell she’s trying not to think about it too much but losing someone you love is hard for anyone.
It’s been a couple of days now since Saint’s death and his family was holding a funeral service. Simone didn’t want to go there alone so she asked me to come and even though I didn’t know him and his family very well, I wasn’t going to just leave her hanging at a time like this.
So what did I do? I got my ass up early as hell on the weekend, got dressed in all black and took her back to her place for a few minutes so she could grab something to wear for the event and also a few extra outfits since she didn't feel like being back in the house any time soon and I don't blame her at all.
Her boyfriend died in that house.
Of course it's technically a crime scene now but they have no leads as of now. Simone told them about her baby daddy but they couldn't find any actual evidence linking him to the crime so he's probably pretty happy with himself right about now while she can't stop crying her eyes out.
Her eyes are always swollen and glossy nowadays, I really hate seeing her like this. I wish there was something I could do to help but right now, I think letting her stay with me is the best thing that I can do for her because I know she wouldn't have anywhere else to go if I didn't.
Once she got her outfits, she didn't even stay long enough to get dressed for the funeral, she just changed in the car on the way there since her hair was already done in a low ponytail; courtesy of moí. I tried my best not to sneak any peaks out of respect but damn, does she have a nice ass body.
The car ride was silent just like most things with her have been for the past couple of days. Pulling up to the church where his family was holding the service in, she stared at the building for a few seconds before taking a deep breath, letting out a shaky exhale soon after.
"I don't know if I can do this." She finally broke the silence, her voice cracking as soon as she spoke.
I furrowed my eyebrows. I knew she might get cold feet but I really figured she'd want to be here for this. "What? Why not—"
"They're holding an open casket." She interrupted, shaking her head as a couple of stray tears fell from her eyes. "I can't see him laying there. I just want him to wake up and tell me he loves me and that he'll never leave me already." She pauses for a few seconds as her head hung low and her voice shrunk into a quiet squeak. "He said he'd never leave."
Turning off the car, I hopped out and made my way around to the passenger side where she sat before opening the car door and taking her face in both of my hands, forcing her to look me in the eye. "Just think about saying your goodbyes. You never got to but now's your chance."
"Yea, but he can't hear me so what does it matter? He's dead and he's not coming back no matter what I say or do or how much I pray for this to all be some kind of twisted nightmare."
Honestly, I had no idea what to even reply back to that because I've never had to grieve over someone I was extremely close with. Yea, I've had friends that passed but not anyone who I spent literally every waking day with. I can't even imagine the type of pain she's feeling right now so I feel like I can't even comfort her like I want to. Nothing I say can make this situation better in any way.
She let out a low sigh and got out of the car, closing the door behind her and wiping her previously crying eyes. "I have to do this for him. I have to be there every step of the way because I love... because I loved him."
Nodding in response, I gave her a quick reassuring hug and walked with her towards the entrance of the building that was just sprinkled with crosses all over. I'm not really the type to go to church so I'm not even sure how comfortable I felt right about now but I wasn't really worried about my feelings anyway.
Once we got inside, we had to sign our names in this little book then go find a seat but we didn't really have to search long because Saint's family had saved Simone a seat up front next to them. They must have known how much she meant to him and how much he meant to her.
The first thing we did was approach the casket to pay our respects and Simone seemed fine in the line going up to the stage but once she finally got in front of him and saw him laying there lifeless, she immediately broke down. I went to comfort her but stopped in my tracks when I noticed that a muscular arm had already thrown itself over her shoulder in a hug causing me to look up at the culprit. His skin was the same color as Saint's, he had a low cut beard with a few greys poking through, and tears were unwillingly falling from his eyes also even though I could tell he was trying to be strong and hold them back.
Simone hugged the man back, whispering a muffled apology into his chest. "I'm so sorry pops." That's when it clicked in my head that he was Saint's dad and was more likely in just as much pain, if not more, as Simone so I just let them have their moment as the line continued to move. His dad soon pulled away from the embrace, wiping his tears with the back of his hand and taking one last look at his son up close, leaving the both of us with a sad sniffle.
Before we left the stage, Simone kissed the tips of her fingers and then placed them on his cheek as she cried out a soft ‘I love you’ before making her way to her seat with me following closely behind her and taking the seat next to her. I felt so awkward because I didn't really know what to do or where to be or what to say. I was just a presence here for whenever she needed comforting.
Some more of his family members began to stop by us to hug Simone then quickly found their seats since service was about to begin soon. I just sat quietly throughout the entire couple of hours we were there, occasionally rubbing circles on Simone's back whenever she began to cry at something that was said about Saint.
***
We got back to my house and as soon as I got in my room, I immediately plopped down on the bed. I'm not going to lie and say I'm not tired because I'm not really used to waking up this early so my sleep schedule is all fucked up.
But for some reason, I couldn't seem to sleep so I reached over into my nightstand and pulled out one of my pre-rolled blunts. I keep a few for when I'm too lazy or too high to roll a blunt and today was one of those days.
I pulled out my lighter from the same spot, sparking up the blunt soon afterwards before letting out a slow exhale of smoke. The light grey smoke quickly blended in with the rest of the air surrounding my room as I took another long pull from it.
Simone was silently laying next to me and from the corner of my eye, I noticed her eyes averting from me to the blunt rapidly causing me to turn to her with my eyes furrowed. "What? Never seen someone smoke before or something?" I joked with her but of course, I didn't get any type of giggle in response. She didn't even crack a smile which caused my own to fade as I turned my attention back so I could take another puff, feeling the intoxicating high soon take over my body as my eyes lowered a bit. Damn, I love weed.
"Can I get a hit?" She finally spoke for the first time in a couple of hours causing my head to immediately snap towards her, my expression wild as I looked at her like she was crazy.
Did she think I was mental or something? "Girl, you buggin'. Have you forgot that you're pregnant or...?" I really don't think she's thinking things through right now, she's just grieving too much.
"I just... I just need something to take my mind off of things." She responded by fidgeting with her fingers, purposely avoiding eye contact with me as she spoke. It was good that she did though because the look on my face would probably have her feeling even more like shit.
"At the risk of your baby?"
She instantly smacked her lips and looked back up at me. "Look, I don't need your judgement right now, all I'm asking for is a hit."
Shaking my head, I shrugged and shoved the blunt towards her. "Whatever."
Once she grabbed it from me, I stood up from the bed and went to change my clothes. It wasn't really necessary but I felt like I just needed to get up and do something because that whole situation slick just pissed me off.
All I'm doing is trying to protect her and the new life she's bringing into the world but she's going off on me? I got up so I could calm down because I know it's not really her fault, she's just in a bad place right now. She's never snapped at me like that but I had to put myself in her shoes even though I don't agree with her smoking while she's pregnant.
She's an adult and can make her own decisions; even if I wanted to, I can't stop her. And I'd rather her smoke my weed than get something from one of these laced ass crackheads hanging around trying to get everyone else hooked on their shit. Like nigga, not everyone wants a sprinkle of cocaine in their weed. You got that.
I came back out into my room in a t-shirt and black basketball shorts before dropping back down onto the bed, holding my hand out so I could get my blunt back since she's had enough time to get a few hits.
"Alright, you asked for a hit. Now hand it over pothead." I laughed out, attempting to lighten the mood a bit since this day has been pretty dark; even for me.
She let out a few light coughs as she took one last hit and handed it over to me. I was about to put it to my lips when my gaze averted downward and I caught sight of how much was left, instantly making a face. This girl really smoked half the blunt in like two minutes. "Damn, chiefin' ass."
That finally earned a laugh from her causing me to do the same as I shook my head. And I couldn't help but to think, "Damn, it's been a minute since I've seen your smile." She then turned to me with an unreadable look on her face and that's when I realized that I was thinking out loud. I widened my eyes for a quick second. "Shit, I didn't mean—"
"It's ok, I know I haven't been the most fun to hang around these past few days." Her head hung low as she spoke making me grip her chin in my hand and bring her back up to face me, tears just barely forming in the brims of her eyes.
"That's not your fault. I'm not expecting you to be all happy and giddy right now, I just missed seeing you smile. That's all."
She flashed me a small forced grin and looked back down to avoid my eyes as silence swept over our conversation. I really didn't know what else to do at this point, we were both high and she was hurting so... I quickly pressed my lips against hers only to be shoved away not even a second later.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" She stood up from the bed and stared down at me with angry eyes as she wiped her mouth free of any leftover saliva. Well damn. "That was too fucking soon Nae. I just—"
She didn't even bother finishing her sentence before she stormed into my bathroom and slammed the door shut, immediately locking it afterwards. Once she was out of sight, I buried my head in my hands and let out a heavy exaggerated sigh.
What the fuck did I just do?

Literally anything Makoto/Rin mpreg! Do what you will, oh beautiful Flower!
I wish I had made Rin the pregnant onebut oh well, too late now.
“Are you sure about this?” Rin asked, nervously hovering around his pregnant boyfriend.
“Of course. Today is the big day MrGold Medallist.” Makoto teased, poking Rin on the nose.
“Don’t jinx it.” He desperatelyshushed him.
“Come on.” He smirked. “I can alreadypicture the gold around your neck.”
“Please Makoto, don’t go on.” Heblushed.
Rin may act cocky in front of thecamera’s or press and especially in front of his fellow competitors but intruth he was always a little insecure before a big competition. The pressurehit him hard, knowing how many people were relying on him, how many peoplelooked up to him. What if he froze up? What if he cramped? What if his bestjust wasn’t good enough?
He began to spiral into a panic whenhe felt two hands cup his cheeks and soft lips against his forehead.
“You’ll be fine.” He promised in awhisper. “Just like you always are.”
“Thanks.” Rin smiled, subconsciously rubbingMakoto’s tummy for luck.
Only today wasn’t like always, todaywas the Olympic, in his own country just to add the pressure. And if thatwasn’t enough today was a week after Makoto’s due date. It had always been afear in the back of Rin’s mind when they had found out the dates, he wasn’tsure he’d do well without his good luck charm. But Makoto had assured him he’dhave been in and out of the hospital by now and they’d both be there to cheerhim on.
And Makoto had been right, they wereboth there to watch him but one was still in their cushy bed.
“I just think you should watch it fromhome.” Rin chewed his lip, in truth he wanted nothing more than to know Makotowas in the stands but sometimes their baby had to take priority.
“I would not miss it for the world.”He kissed him.
Makoto dragged himself to his feetwhen he saw Rin set up to the starting blocks, ignoring all his fellow swimmersand snapping his goggles to get in the zone.
He was glad it was finally Rin’s race,he was beginning to get pretty tired and he could feel their baby getting veryrestless. He was moving around and kicking more than he usually did, probably gettingfed up of being in Makoto’s tummy. But he was more than welcome to leaveanytime. He gasped slightly as he felt a twinge in his lower stomach, wellmaybe not anytime.
When the starting gun was shot Makotofelt the pain shift lower, his legs almost bucking under the sudden intensity. He clutched his stomach, hissing as he tried to ignore the throbbing and focuson Rin, who was quickly putting a distance between himself and the otherswimmers.
“Are you okay?” The woman next toMakoto asked.
“I’m fine.” He replied through grittedteeth, putting his focus back onto Rin.
“You sure?” She frowned, but the manignored her.
“Come on Rin!” He tried to cheer buthe could barely get the words out.
His ears were ringing as he watched, barely able to focus on the figures lapping the pool through his labouredbreath.
“Oh god.” He moaned as he felt asudden gush of water leave him.
All around him the focus shifted, nobody watching the race but panicking and flitting around the pregnant man. ButMakoto ignored their words and shouts, he needed to watch Rin. He would neverforgive himself if he didn’t see Rin win his gold medal.
As if Rin could sense something wasamiss he got a sudden burst of energy, powering through the last couple ofmetres until his hand slapped against the pool wall. He emerged from the waterwith a smile, glancing over to the time board to confirm before throwing hishands up in the air in celebration.
“Well done Rin.” Makoto smiled, finally giving in and dropping down in pain.
Rin pulled himself out of the waterproudly, looking up to the stand where he knew Makoto was sitting. The smile quicklyfalling off his face when he saw his boyfriend crumbling to his knees.
“Makoto!” He shouted, his voicedrowned out by the cheering crowds.
In panic, he ran towards the stands, ignoringall his friends congratulating him on his win. All he could think about was Makoto, everything around him paled into nothing, his victory didn’t matter ifsomething was wrong with his love.
He jumped over the bars and foughtthrough the crowd, despite all the people snapping photos of Japan’s latesthero.
“Makoto!” Rin exclaimed when hefinally found a gap in the people. Makoto lying on the ground as a lady fannedhim, frantically shouting into her phone.
“Rin!” Makoto smiled in relief, reaching his hand out.
“What’s happened?” He asked, droppingto his knees and grabbing Makoto’s hand.
“His water broke.” A man explained,Rin’s whole heart stuttering at his words. He knew this day was coming but nowit was here he felt decided ill-prepared.
“You won gold!” Makoto gushed, as ifhe didn’t have a small crowd watching him in silent alarm. “You need to get onthe podium.”
“Are you kidding me?” Rin shook hishead. “We need to get you to a hospital.”
“But this is a once in a life timeopportunity.” He frowned, not wanting to ruin Rin’s big day.
“So is the birth of our first child.”He smiled, pressing a kiss to his knuckles.
“The ambulance is on its way.” Thewoman said just as Makoto’s first contraction hit.
“Good.” Makoto hissed, squeezing Rin’shand tightly. Part of Rin was glad that this had happened after he won gold, hewasn’t sure he’d be able to use his hands after this. Not that he’d admit it toMakoto, his discomfort was probably nothing compared to labour
Makoto screamed in pain, his wholebody felt like it was trying to break in two as he pushed, hand gripping Rin’sforearm so tightly he was surprised he hadn’t drew blood yet.
“Brilliant Makoto.” The nursecomplimented. “Keep pushing.”
“Okay.” He groaned, sweat dripping offhis chin from exertion.
Rin leaned forward, cringing slightlyat the sight of the baby crowning, the miracle of birth seemed a lot cleaner inthe movies.
“He’s coming.” Rin shouted, unable tolook away.
Makoto grunted in response, pushingtoo hard to even attempt to speak, his body stretched to its limit.
“Would you like to feel him crowning?”The nurse asked, gaze flitting between the two men, Makoto answering before Rincould even open his mouth.
“No I bloody don’t! I just want to getthis thing out of me!” He shouted.
“Push Makoto, just push.” Rinencouraged, knowing Makoto must be in agony if he was snapping at people, hewas usually quite gentle.
Makoto curled his body up and pushedagain, the nurse moving her hands to support the baby’s head as he slowly butsurely entered the world.
“One more push.” The nurse nodded asthe hips came out, Makoto bit his lip and complied.
He practically cheered in relief whenhe heard the high-pitched wail fill the room, a small, wrinkled baby held upfor both men to see.
“Would you like to cut the cord?” Sheasked Rin.
“Sure.” He nodded, eyes welling up ashe took the scissors from her outstretched hand. He shook slightly as he cutbetween the two clamps, sniffling as the situation finally hit him.
“Come here.” Makoto held his arms openas the nurse cleaned up their baby.
Rin fell into the embrace, sobbingtears that he’d been holding in. It had been such an emotional day, the gold, the labour, the birth. He’d been too busy to even think about it all but now itwas finally hitting him, how much his life could change in one simple day.
“Someone would like to say hello.” Thenurse smiled, walking towards the couple.
“I think we can only have tears fromone person.” Makoto whispered, their son still screaming.
“Yeah.” Rin laughed, rubbing his eyes.
Makoto readily accepted his son, pressinghim close to his chest as he whispered and cooed, the boy easily recognisingthe voice and calming quickly. Rin slid onto the bed, pressing a kiss to hisnew son’s head.
“Has he got a name?” The nurse asked.
“Not yet.” Rin shook his head.
“How about Kin?” Makoto asked, smilingsoftly at the meaning.
“Kin?” He grinned. “Yeah I like that.”
“Hey Kin.” Makoto gushed, looking backat their baby, peppering kisses to his face. “Our little Kin.”
Later they lay in bed together, watching their baby sleep as the news played in the background. All coveringthe story of Rin’s sudden departure, missing his chance to get on the podium butall the while wishing the couple the best of luck. Rin may not get to wear goldbut lying in a cot beside him was his and Makoto’s own victory, better than anygold medal.
Who needed a cold metal when you couldhave warm, pure love?

HoM: It All Started With An Outing Part 2 (final)
No, this isn't the finale for the au story. The next one comes as a mini-sequel, focusing on Milo and his friends in the hospital after his fall. There's about two to five more stories within the au. The sequel will probably be a one-shot and the one that follows is two parts like this one :) Anyways. Enjoy some partial angst~ ~MML~ "Melissa look out!!" Melissa blinked when she heard Milo's cry and saw him, absolute horror on his usually happy face. He sounded panicked - why? All it took was a turn of her head to find out. A large steamroller came hurtling her way and men screamed, running in all directions away from the vehicle. "Melissa!!" She heard Milo's voice once more but it merely went in and out the other ear. She was petrified, eyes fixated on the incoming steamroller - her whole life flashing before them as it came closer... It never came. Melissa yelped when a brown and dark pink streak shoved right into her at full speed - well and away from the road. The steamroller rolled on and the Two were safe. Regaining her focus, she noticed Zack running to her in alarmed shock. Zack and... "Milo?" Melissa blinked in seeing the lack of Milo at Zack's side. "Melissa! Milo! Are you guys alright?!" Said the panicked boy. From beside Melissa, Milo panted heavily and sat up, giving a shaky thumbs up. "I'm good..." He turned to Melissa who managed to make out what just happened. The redhead felt overwhelmed with emotion. "Milo did you..." She turned alarmed when she recalled where he was before slamming right into her - a distance away from the road. There's no way he could have just walked… "That steamroller nearly ran over you. I had to do something." Milo was still panting for air and he wheezed, placing a hand on his chest. "And I did just in time too!" His wheezes grew more hoarse but Milo forced himself to stand, casting a weak smile for his friends - the two eyeing him with great concern. Especially Zack who had to watch Milo run just now. "Now let's go get those slushy dawgs we came for! Before they run out!" "We could but," Zack was uncertain and he lowered a brow when Milo started coughing again. "Are you sure you're alright Milo? You moved pretty fast earlier - and you're out of breath again." Melissa nodded in agreement. "Maybe you should take one of those pills you always bring along?" Milo stiffened. Oh no I left them at home! He remembered in horror. But I can't go back to get those! I don't wanna disappoint them. Especially Melissa. The young teen shook his head stubbornly but quickly stopped as a wave of dizziness washed over. "I don't need to! You know the rule, meals before pills!" He bent over in a violent coughing fit and he felt that tightening feeling in his chest again. I knew this was coming... The two grew very alarmed. "But Milo-!" Melissa raised a hand in protest only for Milo to whip his head up, giving her a firm stare. "I'm fine!" He snapped causing the girl to flinch in recoil. "It's just a little-!" The sentence wasn't finished for Milo swayed slightly in another wave of dizziness, eyes going blank and closing halfway as he collapsed to his knees. He let out a shuddered breath when a pair of arms immediately held his head and two pairs of blue and dark eyes ran over him from overhead. Despite his fuzzy hearing, Milo knew Melissa and Zack were fussing over him in their sheer anxiety - frantically asking questions. Begging him to stay with them. Stay awake. "Milo what's wrong with you?! Say something!" "It's his heart Zack! We need to get him to your mom!" "His what?!? So he's got heart issues?!?" "Milo hang on... My mom's coming...!" Coming… Coming… And that was the last word Milo heard before completely blacking out. ~MML~ Zack and Melissa sat in dazed silence as the paramedic at the side of the gurney holding Milo worked to keep him comfortable before reaching the hospital. The boy looked sickly - His skin grew paler and he was frowning through his sleep as if he were still feeling in pain. Despite having an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose, Milo's breaths still came out as soft wheezes, making his friends wince. Zack had been wanting to know about Milo's other condition. Now he did. But not to the full extent. He slowly turned to Melissa who's eyes are puffy from resisting to cry. "Melissa?" The girl jumped at the hand touching her shoulder but relaxed, seeing who it is. "About Milo's heart..." Said the low tone but Melissa could pick up the worry and concern in Zack's voice as he wanted answers. "Care to explain?" Melissa hesitated at the thought of having to explain something she didn't really want to talk about is a topic. But she did anyways. Zack is their friend. He deserves to know... "Okay so it all started years ago, when I found out that Milo's had this heart condition since he was born..." ~flashback~ "Is he gonna be okay Mrs Murphy?" A young, six-year old Melissa sat beside the woman as she helped the exhausted Milo drink his medicine with some water. Brigette brushed her fingers against Milo's hair as he rested his head on her lap. "He'll be okay sweetie," She gently assured the little girl. "The medicine will make him better. All he needs is to nap and he'll be perfectly fine when he wakes up. Then you two can play again," The boy resting on his mother gave Melissa a sad look. "Sorry we can't play tag anymore Melissa. I can't run or jump fast or I'll get sick again." He gazed up at Brigette who looked at him back, feeling sorry for her child. "Mama and the doctor said so." "It's okay Milo! I understand," Melissa reached over to place a hand on her best friend's shoulder. "We can always play Pretend! Or we can play I Spy! There's lots of things we can do without going fast!" She playfully bumped foreheads with Milo. "So you'd better take a nap so we can play again later! Okay?" "Okay Melissa," Milo yawned and snuggled against his mother's lap. Brigette gently hoisted him up and put him down so his head lay comfy in a cushion. Melissa watched the woman and the sleeping boy for a while, making sure that Milo is really napping before talking to his mommy. Melissa frowned at she looked up at Brigette with concern. "Milo says you to him he can't go fast or he'll get sick like just now. Why is that?" At this, the woman's eyes clouded with sadness as she was about to share something that tore her. She explained in the simplest way she can manage for a first grader. "He can't go very fast because if he does," She paused. "You know what the heart does right?" She questioned the little girl. Melissa nodded eagerly. "Daddy says that it sends blood to the whole body!" She said with pride in knowing the answer. Brigette chuckled. "That's right. The heart sends blood to all of the body." Her eyes clouded with the sadness once more. "Milo... He can't go very fast because if he does, he's using his body too much. And when the body is used too much, the heart needs to give off more blood." "Daddy told me that too." Melissa tilted her head. "But what does that have to do with Milo not being able to play fast games?" Brigette sighed and wrapped an arm around the little redhead, pulling her close. "Ever since he's a baby, Milo... He has a hole inside his heart." Melissa blinked. "A hole inside a heart? Is that possible?" She heard about how hearts work among other fun facts but never did she hear of a hole in a heart. "Yes it's possible. It's just that not many have it." Brigette's voice grew soft. "And because Milo has a hole in his heart, his body doesn't get enough blood, especially if he overuses it..." ~End Flashback~ Zack was left speechless when Melissa finished. The redhead was downcast at the memory and she rested her head on Milo's IV-less arm, wrapping hers around it and not letting go. "Melissa I..." Zack shook his head and he hiccuped a sob. Milo having a hole in the heart and having to deal with Murphy's law at the same is just unsettling for him. His best friend, how does he cope with two grave life-threats at once? He was at a loss for words to say to Melissa from learning about the other thing that put his jinxed friend's health in jeopardy. Nothing more was said as Zack buried his face in his hands, his distressed sobs coming out high-pitched as he cried in anguish for the friend who had to suffer so much since birth.
