It makes me a little nervous how warm this winter has been. Like, it's obviously cold, but usually, we've hit single digits at least once by now and I haven't even seen a low temperature below 15. It's only snowed twice when it's usually quite a bit more. It's a little scary how different it is from last winter
#and ive still just got 2 blankets and i still overheat#i dont have good insulation and theres shit covering my heating vent#im usually still cold with 4 blankets#but no#thats appareny not the case anymore#I speak

as a fellow unfortunately-boobed-nonbinary(???????) human I just wanted to possibly recommend transtape if you haven't heard of it! binding can make me overheat so i can't do it as often as I'd like but I've found the tape to be much better bc it doesn't like compress everything and it's not a whole ass garment so no worries for overheating!! it is however a bit of a bitch to get off bc of how strong the adhesive is (but i also may just still need practice...)
I've been afraid to try it because 1) there's a learning curve and if you fuck up putting it on you might end up making things worse unless you take it off again immediately, which leads me to
2) I may in fact have a connective tissue disorder of some kind and/or a mild adhesive issue?? Band aids are fine but I actually have a VERY light scar from the tape they used to hold my IV in when I was in the hospital over two years ago. It's never happened before or since but when she pulled it off, the edge where it actually came off got weirdly wrinkly and scarred that way. Given the holding power of trans tape (which is just KT tape with a... baby blanket tax) I worry about something similar.
The feeling of actual discomfort with boobs may be new, but looking for fun and innovative ways to flatten them definitely isn't. It's just that it used to be for fun and now it's important. Believe me, I would rather do the tape and save my back and ribs (reflux) from the heavy duty bra. But there are so many ways to fuck it up and also I now have a little hair on my tits and the thought of pulling it makes me want to turn myself inside out 😅
#The two different bras I have do a decent job flattening but like#I still have a shelf on my upper body

Relationships: I met a guy my first week at uni- and we were dating by the end of the 2nd week- stayed together just over a year, some stuff happened i wont get into right now but i haven’t been in a relationship since and we broke up Nov ‘11 so......
Break-ups: oh yeah- that. dude picked an evening i was stressed out about school work and already in tears trying to get my essays submitted by my deadline 45 min away and he turns to me like ‘are we even dating anymore?’
like, no- but i have to share a bed with you cuz i have nowhere else to go. thanks.
Kids: dont have any- dont see myself having any bio-kids because the idea of being pregnant is terrifying to me, and i know how many kids out there need homes and i grew up fostering- so if i ever have any it’ll be adopted :)
Pets: i dont currently have any- but grew up had a hamster named fluffy, we had black and white rats called sausage and chip, we had tiny turtles/tortoises when we lived abroad (i was little), we had a few dogs that unfortunately werent a great fit with our family who were rehomed with better suiting environments (hector needed more space, went to live on a local farm, harry needed to not be around our cats) we had 2 felix cats; george and pippa, a black cat named kitty- and my mum still has Marigold (super fluff)
Surgeries: none *knock wood*
Tattoos: none so far
Countries I’ve been to: Hong Kong, China, England, Scotland, Belgium, France, Japan, USA, Canada- and technically Amsterdam because one year when i was around 8 me and my big bro were ‘unaccompanied minors’ and our first flight was late and we missed the connecting flight and put us up in a hotel room overnight. an 8 year old and an 11 year old. nightmare. and ive had layovers in a few countries but they dont count cuz never left the airport
Been in an airplane: so many- prob an average of 2 flights per year of my life? idk i havent done the math
Sang karaoke: in a group and by myself most days :P
Ice skating: i had lessons in a mall in hong kong back in the 90s- then as a teenager i took up hockey for a while
Been on a cruise: nope- tbh the idea of it kinda scares me more than flying
Rode a motorbike: nope- but i really wanted to as a teenager- i did a bunch of research but ultimately i couldn’t afford to
Ridden a horse: yup! but it’s been a long time since i was last on one
Stayed in a hospital: unfortunately- once when i was a tiny in hong kong- i’m told it was very dramatic and touch and go- but i have no memory of it- beware of mould spores and little lungs. and once when i was studying in new york- the most expensive night of my life (that luckily for me my much wealthier relatives took care of)
Favorite fruit or berry: i love strawberries- like with froyo, dipped in chocolate, in eton mess, on a cheesecake
Favorite color: changes daily- i couldnt tell ya
Last text: was to a mate of mine laughing about Link seemingly installing some sort of pulley system to transport rhett’s shirts into his closet
Coffee or tea: i... only drink like... arnold palmers/very sweet lemon tea 🙈
Favorite pie: Apple :)
Favorite pizza: i do a bbq chicken pizza from dominos but sub out the peppers for ground beef- and then i dunk it in garlic herb dip. but i’m sure if i lived somewhere with better options i wouldnt have dominos as my go to. I did love giordano’s deep dish- just the individual cheese- or just with ground beef and cheese- one of those individual pizzas fed me for a week back in college :’)
Cat or dog:
Favorite time of the year: prob fall/winter- its cool enough to wear sweaters, and not overheat when i pile under like 5 blankets- and i get to wear lots of flannel/boots- i can start to wear my beanie again- i just like being cozy :P also its my birthday a few days before halloween- and then theres a bunch of food based holidays- its just kinda nice
Met a star: a few :’) i dont wanna list them and sound like a jackass tho
Flown a helicopter: nope- and i got no desire to
Been on TV: yup :)
Broken a leg: not yet *knock wood*
Seen a ghost: not that i know of- if i have they were super chill and looked like a regular person
Been sick in a taxi: i dont think so
Seen someone die: no
if you wanna do it and tag me feel free- i’m too tired to think right now 🙈

some nice things happened this week. Wednesday was the department’s finals and i was rushing around and at one point i got to my desk and there was a gift. My friend got me smth for christmas and in the card she wrote consider this a birthday, christmas, thanks for everything u do for me gift and it was a chicken ornament :’)
On thursday one of the TAs brought his 7 month old daughter in and i got to hold her and she was literally so adorable. At one point, after she stopped being fascinated by the tree, she started getting upset bc she couldnt see her dad so my boss, who was holding her, walked to the copy room to show her where he was and she immediately stopped crying. Also, he’s a really funny and chill parent like idk how to describe it. She was wearing a jacket with the hood having like dinosaur scales on it and he and my boss took it off her so she wouldnt overheat. I helped him put it back on her and he, very calmly, was like and she doesnt like putting on clothes so shes going to go into a rampage. And as he strapped her to his chest and put on his own jacket he once again very calmly was like and shes gonna get overheated and go into a rampage again. he also joked about how toned and fit he was getting bc she likes it when he holds her in his hands and does squats bc of the movement
Three faculty members are expecting kids soon, with one of them being actually pregnant. I made them baby blankets and last week I started giving them to them. The one who is pregnant was like omg thats ridiculously sweet jordan im gonna cry and gave me a hug 😭Another one whos wife is expecting in early january thanked me and was a little awkward bc hes the type who doesnt know how to receive gifts, which like same. Today I ran into them as my friend and i walked into the supermarket and they were leaving. My friend saw them first and said hi and i noticed afterwards and was like hey! And his wife was like Oh! he made the blanket right? And when he confirmed she was like omg thank you so much that was so nice!!! I havent had the chance to make you a thank you card yet!! Also on Thursday i gave the last blanket and i didnt know how this guy was going to react bc hes very... stereotypically math. He hardcore cant make eye contact, he doesnt make conversation unless strictly necessary, and hes very awkward, nervous, and anxious. Over the semester I noticed that hes gotten better and like he still is nervous when talking but he talks a bit more and he makes way more eye contact. So I gave him the blanket and he was like ??? and i was like oh its a baby blanket! And he was like whos giving it??? and I was like Me? I made it for you since youre expecting a kid and he was like omg??? and he was super happy omg and we talked a little bit about it bc this is his first kid and he said he and his wife were a little bit nervous bc they didnt have family around since shes from china and hes from switzerland and i was like yeah but most of the people here have had kids so i think theyll help and he was like yeah but its still a little bit nerve wracking and i was like true true. He also was liek volunteering information instead of just strictly answering the question and idk this was the most hes spoken with me and it was super nice and pleasant. im really hoping i can see baby pics next semester
Yesterday there was an end of semester party and i was hoping to spend at the most like an hour there since there were apparently gonna be a TA or 2 who didnt like me there and i just wanted to chat with a friend who graduated and one who was leaving next week. So I stayed there until 2am about and then we moved to the guy whos leaving’s house and stayed there until 4am and it was super chill. Most of the TAs were drunk too which was funny. But the highlight for me was that I got to chat with one of them who I only had a little bit of conversation with from time to time at the office and we talked for most of the party and it was super nice. He’s trying to find a job in the southeast bc his family lives there and we were talking with a TA and she mentioned like the perfect job position for him because its a good location and what he wants to do. It opened like 2-3 days ago? SO i took out my phone and started writing an email to him and asked her to repeat the job title and he was like what are you going to send this information to everyone? and i was like no? Im emailing it to you because youre at least a little drunk right now and might forget so this will be a reminder so u have this info later and can apply and he was like omg ur so nice and gave me like a bear hug. Also the guy who is leaving gave me a hug when i left his house and during the night he mentioned that i was invited to his wedding next year so thats cool.
TAs have gotten exam results and one of them called me upset about it and we talked about it and she feels better about it now. At one point she was like Jordan youre so nice omg and i was like thanks i try and we talked for over an hour and it was nice.
Yesterday i decided to take out my helix piercings because its been over 6 months (closer to 7 or 8 I think?) and they have had a bump on them since Ive gotten them. The hole is already closed and the bump is going down so thats good! It wasnt a lot of money and I might get it repierced but idk bc that was one of the more painful piercings and its annoying to soak. The rest of them are doing p well except my nostril has a little bump/scar? on it but hopefully thatll go away and it doesnt look bad.
I got to pet 3 cats and 2 dogs this week and my friend gave me a jumpsuit that doesnt fit him! Hopefully next semester we can go to a club or smth and I can wear that.

Things about top surgery (will be a long post; hang on and read whatever topic you need)
I had a double incision mastectomy with free nipple grafts with Dr. Daniel Medalie on May 18, 2017. Here’s just some things I personally have experienced that may help others pursuing top surgery, wether or not it’s with Dr. Medalie. Before scheduling: I got into contact with Valerie, his receptionist. She’s very helpful and will try to answer any questions you might have. I live about 2 hours away from Cleveland, so it was up to me if I wanted an in person consult or just over email. I got my therapist letter and photos of my chest ready and sent out. Photos via email. The consult was $60. When I heard back, he signed off on my therapist note, and told me I was borderline for either surgery; peri vs double incision. He said he would need to see me in person to make that call, but it could wait until the day of surgery. I wanted to know what to prepare for so I went to Cleveland about 2 weeks after. I was not charged for this in person meeting. He told me he could do peri if I was concerned about the scars that DI would give, but he would prefer DI as he was worried about the extra skin. Ultimately it was my choice. I was hoping for so long I could get peri and not have scars. However, I wanted the most aesthetically appealing option. I didn’t want extra skin. I didn’t want “unknown” nipple landing, especially with the extra skin. I made my decision of DI, based on Dr. Medalie having more control of nipple placement, contour, and removal of the extra skin. I got home and pondered when to schedule. Before surgery: I scheduled about 2 months prior, and was hoping for a Friday date, but was told he doesn’t operate on Fridays so I took the Thursday, which was fine with me. I think it was about a $250 deposit to schedule. In those 2 months, it was more of me focusing on work and not really thinking of surgery, except applying for CareCredit. About a month out, my fiancé and I started putting some things together for the trip to Cleveland: food, post op care (light food like crackers, blankets, clothing, etc.), money, who’s taking care of the cats while we’re gone, and so on. We stayed at a Super 8 in Beachwood, OH (it’s like 10 minutes away from the surgery center and his office). We went to Cleveland the day before my surgery. On our way, the surgery center called to confirm my appointment, 9:15am and to arrive an hour early. We got to the hotel around 2:30-3:00pm. My grandparents and dad also came with us, different hotel room. They bought dinner. I couldn’t stop pacing. It was hard to get to sleep. Day of: I naturally woke up way before my alarm, but continued to force myself back to sleep; it was the last time I could curl up and cuddle with my fiancé for a while. I needed that time. But I also couldn’t hold still for anything. We got up, I got comfy clothes on (red athletic shorts and a purple button down flannel. I looked fantastic, trust me), and continued to pace. We headed for the surgery center at about 7:45. The things we took to the center: a comfort blanket (literally any blanket you really like), a pillow, and my post op vest (this is important!). We got there, I got all checked in and paid my fees. I sat down for like… 2 minutes and was called back. Usual questions, urine sample (which was collected in a styrofoam cup??), got told to strip down except for underwear. Which I wasn’t wearing. So that was awkward but whatever. Put on the gown and surgery socks. Nurse took me to my bed and kept asking if I was cold. Honestly I was burning up. She said that’s pretty usual, we come in burning up and leave freezing. She got everything ready to start my IV. She numbed the area, commented on how nice my veins are, stuck me and blew the vein. I warned her that my veins don’t take nicely to IV needles. She profusely apologized and felt so bad about it. I kept telling her it was fine and I was expecting it to happen the first time. Second numbing, second stick, worked. More apologizing. She went and got my grandparents first. Saw the anesthesiologist. Grandparents left and my dad and fiancé came back to see me. Dr. Medalie came back, drew on me, talked a bit, was on his way. Anesthesiologist came back, he was an odd but funny guy. Maybe I just get his sense of humor. We talked a bit, his nurse came with him and started doing her thing. Anti-nausea via IV, another anti-nausea medicine via patch behind the ear (I usually get really sick from anesthesia). And then some relaxing medicine. I was so out of it when it hit, I don’t remember much. Wheeled back to the OR and remember them having some issue with my left arm board. Then I was in recovery. Dad told me to wake up and I flipped him off. I asked the nurse for water. And then to pee. And then for a warm blanket. I was surprisingly mobile and awake for just coming out of anesthesia. The nurse helped me get dressed and sat me in a chair while my discharge was being approved and they showed my fiancé how to empty my drains. My fiancé went to get her car and the nurse loaded me up, pillow behind my back and seat leaned back a bit and even put my blanket over me after getting my seatbelt on. Got back to the hotel, dad watched over me while my fiancé went to get my prescriptions. She got back, I took a pill, I slept most of that day. My waking moments were spent snacking on crackers, my drains being emptied, peeing, and watching The Weather Channel. It was the only thing on TV I could focus on. Until I passed back out. The following days in Cleveland: Drains being emptied, peeing, Weather Channel, Percocet, crackers, Powerade. I got up sometime Friday evening and went for a short walk with my fiancé. Sleeping post op in the hotel I was in a chair that had a footrest. YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN SPACE TO SLEEP. My body pillow was perfect under my feet since the footrest was JUST too low for me. Had a pillow under my back, decently sized light blanket over me. I sleep hot, so we just brought a light blanket from home so I wouldn’t overheat, plus a comfort thing. We left Cleveland Saturday morning. Back home: I was still sleeping in a recliner. Body pillow next to me for one arm and a pile of blankets for the other. Again light blanket. We brought the recliner to the bedroom before we left home so my fiancé could have the bed while also being there if I needed anything in the middle of the night. Still emptying drains. May 23, 2017 Goodbye drains: My post op appointment. Take your narcotic about an hour before your appointment or before you go! Being on the road isn’t exactly comfortable. Plus it helps with whatever pain you have during the drain removal. I had to pee by time we got there so I went and then was in the room with his nurse Mary and my fiancé. Mary is really cool and pretty funny. Mary opened my vest and the feeling of being able to breathe was shocking. I didn’t realize it was that tight. Off came the foam (and probably all of my chest hair) and I could see my chest for the first time post op! Seeing my chest: After the foam was off, I looked down and the first thing out of my mouth was “oh. Woah. They’re gone”. Nothing can really prepare you for your reaction. I thought I was going to be over the moon and happy crying like the other guys who posted their reveal videos. But I wasn’t. There was this relief. Realization that I closed a chapter on a part of my life and this new one just started. I was happy, but not how it was going to happen in my head for so long. It was just pure relief. It was flatter than I thought (later to realize it was just from all the compression). A lot less “I got hit by a train” than I thought too. Dr. Medalie came in after my drains were pulled (will be discussed soon) and basically said I looked perfect and was good to go. My next 10 days: I’m a day away from day 10 post post-op (a day shy of 2 weeks post op) at the time of writing this. I was still sleeping in my recliner for a while and just got back into bed a few nights ago, surrounded by pillows and blankets to keep me from rolling. My mobility has greatly improved over the past few days. I take ibuprofen for any pain. I use ice packs when I’m really sore. I take dressing changes seriously since it’s a short time I can breathe and move. After tomorrow the steri-strips come off and I’m done with this compression vest. I can soak in a bath as long has my chest is above water. I use a cup to wet and rinse my upper body and hair. I use baby soap. I’ve been able to finally lay on my side with great care in the past like 2-3 days. Take it slow! Let’s talk drains: They absolutely suck. I’m pretty sure it was the worst thing about this whole process. They’re annoying. They’re weird. They hurt sometimes. I was so happy to finally get them out. Which is also a very odd feeling. It kinda pinches, kinda burns, kinda hurts. I don’t know how to really explain it. My left one actually hurt coming out, but I had armpit hair caught up in the suture and all that. Take the narcotic before you get them out. I was told to do that, and I’m glad I did. How about those nips: They’ll look really weird at first. Like ghost nips. Do the dressings EXACTLY as Mary tells you. You don’t wanna lose them. My nips are starting to scab, blister, and peel. THIS IS NORMAL. Just keep them dressed as explained by Mary and the paperwork she gives you. I have limited feeling in mine; I can feel the outer edges but not much on the inside. It’s really weird, but also normal. Not about nips but: as your chest hair grows back (they shaved my chest) it’s going to itch like no other. Things I’m glad to have/have had: Pillow(s), comfortable blankets, laxatives!!! (MILK OF MAGNESIA. Do yourself a favor and get it), ibuprofen, Gatorade/Powerade, slightly heavier blanket for my chest (in case the fur kids wanted to love on me), body pillow, open front shirts (get a few cheap shirts/tank tops and cut them open in the front)
To keep from stupid long posts in the future I’ll update more regularly. Thanks for reading and I hope it helps! Any questions, please ask!

To the ones attending Wings Tour Concert, here are some tips/tricks/advice
I asked you guys this morning regarding going to concerts, especially going to the pit+bangtan concert and i got some really nice asks/replies of you guys, mostly advice on what to take for the actual concert, eat/drinking before the concert, how to dress (comfy clothes always) and also some really cool concert stories from some of you, so i hope this is somewhat helpful for you and also informative! Thanks a lot for everyone that helped! And btw, i’m going to Wings Tour in Brazil, March 20.
@kaep--jjang said: I went to trb ep II in 2015 and jimin ruined my life #adviceforbtsconcert careful if he stares at you and smiles back at you (i cant tell the full story cause character limit 😭 )
LMFAO, i’m pretty sure that if he startes at me i’ll melt and i won’t be able to focus on the actual thing, and if he smiles at me it’s 100% sure i’ll pass out, but i’d love to hear the story feel free to tell me whenever u want to <3
@ungiis : your gonna have so much fun love
thanks a lot love <3
@sonamjoon : it’d be too long to send it in the askbox so i thought i’d reblog it and write it herefirst of all, have fun!! don’t let small details turn this wonderful experience into a bad one. idk if you’ve had concerts experience before but what you can do in general is to prepare yourself to be pushed, accidentally hit and just be ready to be standing up for a really long time. also don’t forget to bring some water and minimum stuff as possible, a small bag that can be fixed onto your hips is the best...
thanks a lot!! i’ll have a blast <3 oh yes, i’ll be far from home on the concert day so i’ll bring food, a small bag, my camera (which is allowed, thank god, semi professional tho) and lots of water!!! and i’m going already prepared, knowing that, since i’ll be in the pit, i’ll be pushed and hit, and i’ll wear comfy shoes so this doesn’t become a hurtful experience considering the time i’ll spend standing, so thank you again for the tips <3
@stilinskibilinski : try not to take too many videos and just enjoy the show! oh and don't drink too much water/liquid lol, have fun!
oh, cameras are allowed, but i’ll try to enjoy it a lot (my concert motto tbh, don’t take too many pics and enjoy it the best way possible) instead of only taking pics/videos, lmfao i’ll try to not drink too much water (alth othe weather here is hot) and i’ll have loads of fun, thank you <3
@youngforevers : wear comfortable shoes!!
ohhh that’s an important one, considering i’ll be in the pit the entire concert, i’ll make sure to wear comfy shoes, thanks a lot!! <3
@wang-j : ive only ever been to one concert in my life but i made the rookie mistake of not eating/drinking before i went and i had to be pulled out of the pit by the guards bc i passed out lmaoooo. Just remember to have something to eat and drink before going!
oh my god i’m so sorry this happened to you?? damn, that must’ve been a stressful experience, i just hope you at least enjoyed the concert a bit before passing out like this :( but thanks a lot for such a great advice, eating and drinking before going is important so you don’t pass out, so i’ll keep that in mind, thanks for sharing <3
Bom show! 😘
@firebts : really try to focus on every member and don't take to many pics and vids!!!! take a few ofc but yea def don't just ONLY focus on ur bias i did that at kcon last summer and i missed a lot of what was going on during cypher part 3 when i was watching jimin. also something to b aware of since ur in the pit is that fansites often bring stools to stand on in the pit (i saw this at kcon) if u have flats/comfy shoes with a platform i recommend those for additional height.
Ahhhh that’s such a great advice, i’ll make sure to focus on all of them, i guess only focusing on your bias is not good at all, like u mentioned, u gna lose a lot of whats happening in the concert if u do that, so that’s great advice <3 And, the shoes i’m going to the concert with, are those sneakers, that are super comfy! They are nike ones, so i guess im safe, and they have a lil platform too so that will def help for additional height, altho im a giraffe lmfao. But thank you <3
@cloudjimin said: Heey! I wanted to give you some tips for the concert :) I was at Kcon last year and I was in the pit as well. First of all if you really want a good spot you need to get in line early. Like REALLY EARLY. At Kcon me and my friend lined up at 3 am and the concert was at 8pm. So we were in line for a really long time. We rented an apartment for 2 nights which was 15 minutes away from where the arena was so we were always able take turns to go to the toilet and eat in between. [cont.] For a BTS concert I would line up even earlier but that's up to you really. Definitely don't forget to pack some food and pillows and maybe blankets depending on the weather. Don't bring too much though because once you're in the arena you won't have time to bring anything to a cloak room or something. So take a backpack with you that you can maybe carry during the concert. Make sure all of your batteries are charged and bring a power bank!! [cont.] COMFY SHOES!!! Your legs will hurt like hell after the concert so comfortable shoes will help. And also wear light clothing so you don't overheat. Only if you're okay with that ofc. I wore shorts and a tank top. BEFORE entering the arena you should definitely try to go to a bathroom. And lastly ofc be respectful and DO NOT PUSH! I hope this helps :)
Thanks a lot for everything u wrote and for sharing your concert experiences with me!!! I’ll make sure to line as early as possible, considering i have a lecture on the concert day (so i gotta rush to the concert place) i might be able to get there fast n safe to line early! The weather from what i’ve heard will be probably something like, it’ll rain but the weather is still hot, it’s kinda confusing but yeah!!! I’m taking a backpack with me with the necessary stuff, water, snacks, my camera, and a jacket too in case it gets cold, i’ll wear comfy shoes too, light clothing ALWAYS, i don’t wanna die from the heat sobs, i’ll take 2 power banks with me too!! I’ll wear ripped jeans i guess and a loose tshirt!! And yes i’ll be respectful and i won’t push anybody, it did helped a lot thanks for all the info, advice and tips!!! <3
