Hi love!! For the song ask : 2, 3 and 23! 💕✨
salut ma fraise!! 🍓 these were such good questions thank you!! this post is LONG be warned omg <:)
2. three last songs you listened to
shut eye - stealing sheep
“shoes are made for walking you to lands and better seas”...ooohh this one has weird vibes but it’s been a favorite of mine for innumerable years!! i remember listening to it throughout so many early art classes ahh...
sound of violence - other lives
i found this song a couple nights ago while doing a deep dive to find new songs for an oc playlist I’m trying to pad out! it’s got such beautiful violin and strings, behind such a gentle voice,,, ahhh im really a fan of this one :-) !
your rocky spine - great lake swimmers
this one is surprisingly sensual in such a gentle, loving way. the singer describes their lover as a mountain range and just waxes poetic ;–; I found this song again after a very long while, and I’m so glad I did so I could put it in this month’s playlist!
3. three songs you were recently obsessed with
ofelia - kiltro
this song is BIZARRE....I found it at the very end of march and it’s just been on repeat ever since, the way it begins and ends with these lyrics that change so subtly: “it’s a light, it’s a light / it’s alright, it’s alright / it’s a lie, it’s a lie” ogghhh this song GETS ME!!!! i want to lie down in this song, as if it were a freshly made bed or a field of wildflowers
the adults are talking - the strokes
and on another note, this one’s just a very catchy tune that i found through tiktok haha! it became a popular tune to use for content (not rlly as a meme like a lot of them) so i picked up on it pretty quickly and it’s just plain catchy
shady grove - (multiple artists but my favorite cover byyy) the chieftains
now THIS was a march vibe!! I brought my dulcitar over to me and Scott’s apartment early last month and tried so very hard to learn this song on the dulce <:) it’s a traditional folk song and it has...just so many covers. but this one is both 1) beautiful, and 2) closer to the length of the usual/original, so I’d say it’s good for a first-time listen!
23. three songs that never fail to get you pumped up
carnivore - bear attack!
oh here we GOOOO this is the world’s best song about leaving your goddamn abusive ex. fuck yes. do I have an abusive ex? NO! I have two healthy partners who love me very much!! do I still sing along to this song as if it were relatable to me? YES I DO!!
heart of a dancer - the happy fits
fun fact: I’ve seen the happy fits twice at gigs and they (used to?) know me by name!! i love these three dudes!! I’ve rocked out to this song IN PERSON (pre-covid of course) and ohhhh it’s some GOOD SHIT!! the lyrics are so much fun too omg. convincing jesus AND satan that the blues is cool?? can be done, apparently!
no one lives forever - oingo boingo
and now for my favorite wacky artist of the 80s and 90s: lead by mr. danny elfman, YES, that danny elfman, the composer. this song is one of my favorites of ALL TIME and it’s just plain weird!! the inevitability of death comes for us all, so have fun while you’re alive, babey!!! somehow more poignant (poingonant?) during covid times where we sadly cannot have parties and jam out to wild funky tunes
