a witch has her ways of defending herself; there are a plethora spells and magics at her disposal if her safety ever comes into question. like chiyo, most have a familiar as well, so there isn’t necessarily a need to be physically adept. but there is a sense of dread that sits in the pit of her stomach as of late. there is a feeling that eyes burn upon her back during those night shifts she pulls, so maybe chiyo just wants all of her bases covered. just in case.
