i bought some batman/robin comics second-hand from a con i was at a few months ago (just because they were there and there weren't that many). i finally finished reading them all..... i can see now why they were on sale......

im JOKING kind of. well. they weren't bad-bad but they didn't blow my mind either. i do not understand the hype around batman: year one (frank miller) for example but who knows maybe i'll change my mind after reading some other comics. maybe it's a relative thing. loved the art though i loooove the inking in it im such a sucker for some INK.

i saw that the nolan's dark knight films drew some influence from it and, now don't shoot me, i did not enjoy the films. outside of some iconic quotes they just did not appeal to me. but that's another topic. i noticed reeves' the batman also drew inspiration from here and i LOVE that film so the stuff here isn't all that bad. it was just that "jim has a wife named barbara" set us on the wrong foot.

anyway year one's writing felt very weird to me i was picking up vibesTM. like girl wtf was this quote it made me laugh. but like it also read to me as very "wOmeN dON't aCT lIKe WOmeN anyMORe" but im willing to assume good faith and that wasn't the intention. still really silly to me

i have more bad than good to say about this book but i don't? hate it? it's hard to explain. i think im waiting for something to compare it to, something that makes me go "SEE! now THIS is good!" and im REALLY new to comics so i'll just move on now

shamefully my interest in batman/batfam was piqued through fanon stuff but i did go in knowing fanon tim and canon tim are very different. i came away from this experience thinking tim is a bit of a fuckboy (im JOKING again but i think that's so funny). im also aware im missing a lot of context but ANYWAY

there were moments that gave me a laugh but i hated days of fire and madness (willingham) for this alone it was ickyyyyyyy everything that had something to do with von hammer i did not like. and i did not care for these characters or whatever tim was trying to do (i think he was undercover? this is where the missing context comes in. maybe if i had whatever came before this book... idk)

i mainly did a lot of studying of how fanon tim compares to canon and this tim is such a little stinker it makes me laugh so hard howwww do you get demure and shy and apologetic out of this guy.

Haha I don’t blame you, figuring out what to say in comments is kind of tricky! I know because I always try to leave comments when I read something; since I’m a writer too I get why not getting feedback can be incredibly demotivating. Kudos and hits are ultimately just numbers, whereas comments can make writers go ’yes, this thing is actually worth posting, actual people are enjoying it!’. At least the other writers I’ve spoken to have all shared this sentiment, so I’d figure it’s pretty universal feeling? Of course I can’t know how every writer thinks, but this would make sense to me haha!

Not saying non-writers wouldn’t realize this too btw, but I guess it might be the easiest to see when you are kinda ’in it’ so to say? I dunno how to put this sorry lmao OTL

(Side note; I wonder if I’ve seen a post about commenting tips or if this has been asked from me before? This feels vaguely familiar lmao.)

So, uhh yeah. I guess I could share some of the basic ’comment ideas’ or whatever I use when I myself comment on the few fics I still read? You can do whatever you want with how you comment, but maybe these could help coming up with what to say? They help me at least cuz yeah, commenting is hard sometimes!

You Could....

1. Bring up the parts you especially liked in the chapter you commented on, or the story so far in general; this gives the author a good idea what is working in the story. You can type this out freely or just basically quote the parts from the fic (latter is probs easier haha)

2. Maybe theorize a little where things might be going. You might either guess somewhat correctly - meaning the breadcrumbs we’ve left are working yes - or maybe even give the author something to think about they hadn’t thought of before. (The amount of times readers have pointed stuff out to me that kinda makes sense that I didn’t think of, is kinda funny.) This one can be hard to do I admit, but I figured I’d still throw this in there; these are just comment ideas like said, to maybe help you come up with what to say!

3. Express the emotion the chapter made you feel, whenever it made you sad/happy/etc. You can for example, express this humorously, like all those people shaking their fists at me for making them sad over AFO in FS lmao (sorry, I’m mainly using examples from my own fics because I don’t really go reading other people’s fic comments heh) or just go ’I’m crying in the club rn’ or something (a phrase I’ve also seen commenters use hehe)

4. Maybe you can comment about what you think of the character’s actions in the specific chapter/some overall part of the story? If you think they’re being a dumbass or if you’re glad they did what they did. This I guess can be tricky because you can’t know as the reader what the author’s intent fully is, but comments like these can still be fun/interesting to read! Sometimes it gives me an incline I need to clarify something if too many people are getting confused by it lmao (thankfully this is super rare, but it has happened. There was one extreme case of me deciding to rewrite an entire chapter because one comment from a reader made me alarmed enough that the vibes in that chapter were badly off. It was just this one person who seemed to notice it, but after they pointed it out I couldn’t unsee it so I rewrote the whole thing lmao)

5. Maybe lightheartedly roast a character who is doing something dumb in the story? I roast characters I write myself in author notes sometimes hehe

6. Just simple ’I love this,’ ’this is great,’ etc. Can be more than enough if you dunno what else to put there!

So yeah. Those are few things I can think of to maybe help you come up with what to say?

I know it can still be difficult to type anything down (especially if you are more of a shy/anxious person, it can be intimidating for sure!) but it is worth it! Not only are you brightening an authors day, but you are helping them to stay motivated to provide you the story you enjoy reading. Even if not every comment gets responded to (I try to respond to most of them personally, but even I don’t always do that, purely because I might not know what to say, ironically lmao) they all get read in all likeness.

This is all ofc written from my perspective, these are the kind of comments I feel are probably the most common kind out there.

I have a friend, who I got along with really well because we are both Afro Latinas (only she can speak Spanish. I don’t, not really) and we are black kids who had an interest in unconventional topics. I messaged her before disappearing about the ending of the server. I was keeping her updated all throughout, but after telling her the ending, I left her on read

I won’t disclose what I got up to during my absence. But again, don’t think that I had a breakdown because of the server ONLY. It was the final straw. I had so much going on in my life and I couldn’t take it anymore. 

Anyways, she took it upon herself to send hateful messages to Ley’s account and thought it was something to be proud of and told me. I...wasn’t impressed. But I still didn’t respond to our chats. Then she (her name is Rex. I’m gonna call her that) dmed Ley and was actually pretty aggressive towards her in an attempt to get answers. Again, not impressed but it was enough for me to actually come online. I feel like that’s why she acted out, to get me online. I don’t think she cared about me and used my pain to hurt others.

I had extremely brief, passing conversations with people who weren’t involved with the situation at all right before I messaged Rex. 

Ley was special to me before her message. I was always very defensive and protective of her like I was everyone else, but her especially because I thought she was nice. And I remembered when people were being mean to me, she reached out. And I still appreciate her for doing that. 

Which was why it was so confusing when Rex told me that they were all mad at me because I ACCUSED JOANE OF GROOMING PEOPLE. They wanted a reason to make me the villain so badly that they made shit up.

Notice how here, she says that I called Joane a FUCKING PEDO. Not even just a groomer but an outright PEDOPHILE. 

I’ve been raped. I’ve been sexually assaulted, groomed, all of that. I don’t say shit. I never say anything. I’ve even been accused- yes, ACTUALLY ACCUSED unlike Joane- to being a paedophile. I’m 19. Not even just that but I’m freshly 19. I got accused when I was 17. But I would never just- ughhhh moving on I don’t wanna get into it.

I heard a quote from someone that said something like “if someone believed a lie about you without checking up on you first to see if there was proof, then they were already looking for something to destroy you with to begin with” or SOMETHING like that. So I thought back to that quote and felt awful. I always suspected that they didn’t really like me, but always marked it up to my depression talking nonsense. But after all of this...maybe it was true. Why did I come out the most damage? Why were they making up lies about me? Me, out of all of them. Why was I consistently being seen as the bad guy overall? No really tell me. 

Anyways, this was Ley’s justification to believe that I would say such an awful thing:

Okay. Let’s just say that- Joane WAS a groomer. That she actually is a paedophile and I commented on it. She’s obviously not but I’m pulling a Ben Shapiro here. Everything else is the same only Joane is a paedophile. 

That motherfucking “it’s weird that he only spoke up when they were arguing” argument, and other arguments like that are so fucking toxic. As well as “well it wasn’t a problem that never came up before” so??? That’s what the fucking #metoo movement was all about. Timing means NOTHING when it comes to that. It doesn’t matter if it’s Joane or fucking Bill Cosby. The fact that thought came to Ley’s head is so fucking upsetting and DISGUSTING.THAT mentality is why people never want to believe victims of assault. Same goes for “they could have said that privately” guys she’s talking about that user who said they were uncomfortable with Joane coming onto him. Privately? It was private to him. In that server, we’ve made it known that it’s a very homey and comfortable environment. And who the fuck are you to tell someone where and when they can speak up about something like that???

Also, she accused me of calling her a pedo again. Good for me right? I’m a bully and I’m someone who just blindly calls people paedophiles. Good for me, damn. 

No, you shouldn’t believe someone right away when they call someone a groomer. God don’t I know that. But you definitely don’t say THAT what the fucking fuck.

It hurts. It hurts a lot to see another friend you looked up to call you a bully. And that they just say that you called someone a groomer when you didn’t.

Mel also tagged her post with someone kinda ignorant. 

Imagine if (thinking of someone I and others don’t always agree with) someone like James Charles made a post broadcasting all the homophobia he dealt with during his career, and I or some other asshole said something “while I don’t always agree with James…” like now isn’t the time. Now isn’t the time to let people you know you disagree with me ESPECIALLY on a post where you agree with me 100%??? What is the point then? You agreed with me, so agree with me. There. No one is saying that you have to agree with everything I say lord fucking knows I don’t always agree with you guys. fucking DUH. It makes me think you just wanted to put that in to lesson me and my words, even only slightly. Why? That hurts a lot, Mel. It really fucking does bruh.

When Rex called her out on it, she deleted the reblog. Not just the meagre little tag but the whole post. If she couldn’t be slick with me, then she wasn’t going to support me at all. It isn’t worth it if she can’t be shady. That’s the message I got from that. Tells me a lot. 

I am not friends with Rex anymore. She’s always been really aggressive and drama craving and I can’t take it. It’s impacting me negatively as well. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t somewhat happy with the screenshots she gave me. Told me a lot about these people I was still willing to talk to. 

Now? I won’t even waste their time.

After all of that. I made the post. The big announcement post. It was too much. I can’t escape the racism in my hometown or in the country in general, but I can leave and distance myself from the fandom. 

I was talking to someone today, and she, as a white woman, admitted that white people act so shitty when it’s implied that they’re racist. Which is so true.

Our car insurance was expiring on the 28th of may. We had all the premium paid by the end of march. At the end of april we got rid of the car. Couple of days later we received renewal documents from the insurance company. We have been with those company for 2 years, we didn' t make any claims. I thanked the guy and said that we do not wish to extend the insurance and I am only waiting for the 2years of NBC. He said ok and I thought it was sorted. We went on holiday abroad on 21st of May and got back on the 7th of June and imagine my surprise when in the post I have found the letter from insurance company with the certificate of insurance enclosed and them thanking me for deciding to stay with them and saying that my monthly instalment is 130 pounds!!! (because apparently i decided not to the the brakedown cover that i had before!!!!) I decided to call them first thing in the morning, but befor I did it i checked my account and of course they have already debited it with 130 pounds. I called them and the woman there explained that they were never informed of not extending the policy and that of course they have it registered that i phoned on the 6th of may with questions but they called me and left a message on my voicemail and apparently i never rang them back. She explained that all I have to do is to send the certificate of motor insurance back and then i will get the money. So i did. Once they got it they rang me saying that now they want the proof of selling/scrapping the car, WHY???I do not think it is any of their business. I was told that since I am registered under my parents insurance, the other party can see that they have a lot of assets they can sue for from my parents. My question is, why are they able to sue me so easily? I've done research, and I know Florida is a no-fault state, meaning drivers cannot sue each other unless serious injury occurred, such as loss of life, limb, permanent injury, etc. In both accidents, I did not get ticketed, and I believe no police report was written, only exchanges of information.(Police were called, however.
